Chapter 2 "True man's world"

Part 1 Shinji

It took him a while to realize what just happened he was back where it all started. Despite the familiarity of this place he couldn't help but feel a bit distant. It was the same place but it wasn't his place.

"So if I am here, where is Asuka?" Shinji questioned .

He knew that the red head had gone from his vicinity but other questions started forming to his mind.

"I can least confirm that she was alive right ?"

The last piece evidences he had was the soft hand on his cheeks and a word that fitted him perfectly. Were they a sign of life or the last actions of dieing girl to her murderer?

"I need to find answers and I need to find them quickly before I lose my fucking sanity."

Before he start thinking about his next actions a sudden sound took his ears.

Turning his head to the sound he saw an enormous figure walking through destroyed buildings

"Shit, I had forgotten about him"

Before Sachiel even realize Shinji tiny existence group of missiles fly towards him.

Shinji tried to move as far away from possible from the explosion even though he knew he was already close, but lucky for him a familiar crazy driver swoop in to the scene.

"GET IN THE CAR NOW" Misato yell at him. Shinji blinked to make sure he wasn't dreaming and that he was actually saved again by the same person who had sacrificed her life for him.

Without a second thought Shinji jumped in to the car and tried to reorder him self in the seat because it was matter of time before this woman would try to violate every driving law that exist.

After driving into a much safer place Misato start her introduction.

"My name is Misato Katsuragi I hope you didn't wait me for a long time but as you saw back there the road isn't in the best condition right now. Also I hope you received the photo I send you didn't want you to believe that you would be picked by weirdo."

"I still have the photo you have sent me I can give you back if you want " Shinji pull the photo at of his pocket and tried to give it to Misato.

"Nah, you can keep as much as want " Said Misato as she stopped Shinji.

"Fair enough." Shinji answered and put the picture back to his pocket. He was planning on doing something with the picture but it was good to have a picture of someone he cared for. Even if the intention of the picture was for other reasons.

During their journey Misato stop for a moment as he saw what they were planning to do with the angel.

"What? They are going to drop the nuke now ? Quick get down." As she finished her words both she and Shinji duck inside the car.

The shock from the explosion was high that it flipped the car over and send it backwards.

As Misato gain her consciousness she could help but shiver to the fact that despite the massive bomb the drop into the agnel the beast was only slowed down bit and no further damage was shown.

"If they drop a nuke so early that means they are in great desperation right now. We must hurry. " Misato said silently.

Shinji couldn't but laugh inside his mind. If someone truly believed that simple explanations and firepower would be enough to stop a angel was either too naive or too stupid to admit it.

After putting the car back together the continued forward to their journey.

During their ride Shinji imagined the faces of all the military men who were at Nerv and witnessed this event. He didn't need to there to see their anger and disappointment as they became fouls of themselves infront the entire Nerv headquarters. Someone would have said to throw the Eva from the beginning and safe all this time and resources after all even Rei wouldn't mind suicide rush to the angel even in her bad condition. But Shinji knew what kind of man his father was. He knew that their plan will eventually blow to their face so he just waited when they eventually run from ideas. He did that because he wanted to see them that he was only reliable source in order to counter the angels and to give him the recourses he need to further his goals.

Finally, they reach to their destination and waited as the elevator took the car in to lower levels

"Pretty cool isn't?" Misato ask Shinji."Most of the stuff that you see infront of were designed by your father works. He is a very competent man and who knows you might day be in his position instead." Misato commented.

"I really doubt that I am not that smart to compete with him." That was true but he also wants to be as far away as possible from this man works. He had already done enough bad things in his previous life he doesn't want to fall again that much.

After exiting the car the move towards the elevator and the different sections of the place which were infront them. Before the elevator started a blonde figure enter with them .

"This is him isn't?He looks exactly like like his father. " Ritsuko commented.

"Exactly, that's what I thought when I first saw him." Misato continued.

"You should be proud of your father works he is very competent man." Said Ritsuko to Shinji.

" I will be." Shinji laid,he tried to pretend that he was reading the leaflet he was given but with already knowing the truth behind Nerv his focus was on other things.

As they arrived in the the floor the wanted, they walked through the complete darkness which covered the entire Eva cage.

"So this is where my father's work is ?" Shinji said as he waited the right voice to curse on.

"Correct." The lights suddenly surpass the darkness that were originally covered the room and everyone turn their heads to the voice they heard.

"You are summoned here for a very specific reason." The cold and serious voice of Gendo Ikari was heard and felt more loud and ominous than it was.

"You here to pilot the Eva you see infront of you." He added.

" So you just call me only for that?" Shinji already knew the answer but he wanted to have a reason to argue with his old man.

"That's right this only reason you are here." Gendo answered coldly.

Shinji hated that voice of coldness and superiority which came from that man. Never in his previous life did Gendo admitted Shinji existence and showed any signs of interest. Instead Gendo try to manipulate him with false hopes that at one day he going to admire him. He just wanted so badly to curse and yell the man but he would like raging child to everyone so he just stayed silent.

"I see, you have second thoughts. Fair enough, Ritsuko bring Rei." Said Gendo

"But sir she not in the right condition to fight even if she was we don't what the outcome will be for her health." Ritsuko retorted back.

"Do it, now." Gendo answered with his cold voice again.

"Yes sir." Said Ritsuko as bowed her head

Shinji already knew the scenario that is going to follow up. This was test from the old man if he was still that sad child he had left back then to train station. He hated every choice that was given right now.

The cart with the blue haired girl rushed in the room including with all the machines that kept her alive.

Shinji wished that Rei's pain was so big that she couldn't have the power to get up from the bed. But his wish was demolished as she tried her best to move around. "Dammit Rei why do you need to be obedient and faithful to that monster even as times such this." Shinji thought.

As Shinji was about to say something sudden earthquake shake the entire room. He found a way to stop Rei from falling once again but she was still in great pain from all the bandages in her eye and hand. Blood was once again in his hands.

"So what will be your choice? Will you come out from your little shell of yours or would rather die with us as the beast presses forward to the building ?" Gendo asked Shinji. He didn't even mentioned a possibility of Rei winning the angel as he was that sure about his choices.

Shinji felt cornered, he could give his life for those people but they weren't his people they were just similar versions of them. But from the other side if he let the angel swoop Nerv now he will never get the answers he wants and things will probably be worse than before.

"Alright then, I am gonna pilot the damm thing. " Shinji answered as he saw a smile forming in Gendo's face.

Every part of his body hated this decision but he was done running away, he was done with others trying to manipulate him. This he will forge his own path with his decisions and he will find who, what and why is he here one way or the other.

A.N : Thanks for your comments and reviews on the last chapter. I divided the story in to smaller paragraphs so it doesn't feel boring and weird. Also, I have clear vision in where I want the story to go so I separate the story into three parts with each part focusing on specific POV of a character. And yeah I know the whole time loop idea is already explored so much that it has become tiring but choose this idea because first this is my first function and want to play in more safer ground and second because I had already a lot of ideas for this one. But if don't manage to make interesting enough I one last trump card of an idea that nobody had ever thought or even talked about in neither the series or the Rebuilds

AND YES THE TITLE IS A JOJO REFERENCE TO PART 7.
