Lynn

"LINCOLN! COME QUICK!" I called out from the room. I could hear his footsteps stomping loudly on each step as he ran up. He burst through the door with a worried expression and ran up to me.

"What?! What is it?! Are you okay?!" He asked me, concerned.

"She's doing it again!" I excitedly tell him, pointing to my stomach.

"What? The wave thing?" He asked, lightening up and suddenly becoming joyful as well.

"Yeah! Look!" I say, tapping my fingers across my stomach, then waiting for her reaction. She then started to make waves from inside me! I've never felt something so unique in my life! This was one of the things she'd do that would always get us excited, but the thing was, it was very rare to catch it.

It was now January 10th, 2015 and school had started again this week— which I did go to- the whole week! I had agreed with my parents though that after this week, I would stay home and start my virtual course since my due date is near. I was a bit sad to say goodbye to David and Jennifer, but they agreed to keep in touch so that we could hang sometime. Lincoln tried to do virtual with me, but I wouldn't let him, never mind mom and dad. He did have this new friend though— Sky that I was starting to get close to as well. I'm gonna miss her too. Now that I think about it, I did have some friends after all. Huh. And all this time I claimed I had no friends.

I've been on the couch all day today, just eating cereal back to back because why not? I had nothing better to do, plus, no one really was home. Everyone was either with friends (like Lucy) or at work (like Lincoln, Luna, and Lori) Leni has gone home as of last Saturday, the 3rd, and it's just been different, as usual. Leni just seems to have this appeal to her that leaves a place empty when she leaves, and I honestly think that's a gift! I've never met anyone who doesn't like Leni, so that tells you something. She, of course, left before Lacy was born though, even though she said that she would be there for her birth. I mean I understand, she has classes and things like that to go to, but now, I'm really wondering if she'll really be able to be here. I never had my hopes up in the first place, but now that I think about it, it would've put me at ease. Just her presence, you know? Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Around 4 pm, I woke up from my nap to Lincoln's soft kisses down my neck. I giggle at the sensation.

"Hey, wanna get out of here?" He asks me.

"And go where?" I ask him.

"Remember my friend Sky?"

"…Yeah…"

"Well her and her sister, Starlla are going to the mall and wanted to see if you and I wanted to join them so they aren't loners or something like that."

"…Can I invite some people?"

"That depends. Who are you trying to invite?"

"David and Jen…" I quietly urged. He thought about it for a moment before putting a hand behind his neck.

"…I mean… I guess… I don't see anything wrong with it…." He vacillated. I kissed his cheek with a small smile.

"Thanks."

"But just out of curiosity, why do you want to invite them? Sky and Starlla will be there," he mentioned.

"Errrr… hahaha… you see, the thing is, you guys are all freshmen… I need to hang out with at least ONE person who is an upper-classman…" I confessed. Who wants to be hanging out with a bunch of freshmen? He looked at me with a look of disapproval at first, but it then twisted into a smirk as he leaned in and whispered in my ear.

"That wasn't what you thought when I pinned you to my bed and—"

"O-okay! I get the point! Thanks for re-reminding me!" I stammered, flustered as my face turned red. He always loved having the satisfaction of making my face go red, and I knew it. That suave son of a bitch!

At the mall, I sat on my phone at the food court waiting for either David's or Jennifer's name to pop up. They had both agreed to come, but it was just a matter of when they would arrive. Sky and her sister hadn't arrived either, it was just Lincoln and I. I liked the mall. It was a cool place to chill when you have nothing else to do and you want to get out of your house. Anyways, it was now 4:46 pm and we were still waiting.

David was the first to arrive through those front doors. I felt relief immediately after seeing him.

"Hey!" I waved as he walked our way. I hugged him as he greeted me back with a friendly hi. He then sat and waited with us. The sisters came next. Now, I've known Sky for about... let's say 3 weeks, and based on what I know about her, her sister seems to be the exact opposite of her. Straightened, long, dark hair, pink trench coat, knee high heeled boots, grey mini skirt, Luis Vuitton purse at hand, hell, I'd say this girl was Lola from the future! Meanwhile, Sky stuck with a dad hat, jeans, and a denim jacket over a hoodie. I wasn't criticizing any of their outfit choices, but it's odd to see how different they are from each other, and on top of that, turns out they're twins! Why am I acting so surprised though? I act as if I didn't know my own two sisters, Lola and Lana, who are exactly the same!

Jennifer was the last to show up, as expected. She claims that because she's both Puerto Rican and French, she's bound to always be late. She greets me with a hug and asks me how I've been holding up. Yeah… about that, she already knows I'm pregnant. She found out about the same time David found out, by seeing my bump. Like David though, she accepted me no matter what.

"So, you're David?" She asked upon seeing him.

"Yeah. And you're Jennifer, ain'tcha? You know, we have the same Phycology class- with Mr. peoples!" he exclaimed as he recognized her. After thinking about it for a moment, her face signaled that it clicked in her mind.

"Oh yeah! You're that 'Too suave for anyone here' kid!" she sarcastically mentioned.

"Yeah, and you're that 'too cool for school, I wanna drop out and blow this place' kid!" He mocked. They glared at each other for a moment before turning away. Lincoln and I eyed each other for a moment, worried that this was a mistake, but David soon moved on from the subject.

"Sooo, these are your other two friends Lincoln? Hi, I'm David!" He said charmingly.

"Hey, I'm Sky, this is my sister Starlla, and before you ask, yes, we are twins."

"Yes, thanks for that! I was really questioning that probability. Glad you cleared up the air!" Jennifer sarcastically remarked.

"You have to forgive her. Jennifer doesn't speak anything other than sarcasm…" I cleared up before they got the wrong idea. They both looked at each other and giggled at this.

"I can see that!" Starlla acknowledged. "Well then, now that we all know who everyone is and I assume no one else is coming, let's leave this food court and hit some stores!" She bubbled, leading the way to the stores. Everyone followed, chatting among themselves.

"Did they have to be freshmen?" Jen questioned with disgust in her voice. This made me laugh. Her sarcasm was like a splash of cold water to the face in the morning—refreshing. Similar to Lucy's little remarks at times.

"Wasn't my first choice, but Lincoln wanted to come with them. They're the ones who invited us so…" I trailed.

2 hours later and my feet were swollen, and I was ready to go HOME! We were all sitting, eating lunch together, just talking. Sky and Starlla were actually pretty cool, and you wanna know who was the first to say it?! Of all people, Jen was the one who kept coming to their defense about being cool when came the end of the day. I gotta admit, they weren't your average freshmen though. They weren't annoying or cocky nor did they act like they knew it all. That's what made me like them. I can definitely see us hanging out together more! As for Jen and David, they didn't seem to like each other, but at the same time, they didn't seem to not like each other. They had a 'love-hate relationship' so far for lack of a better term. Hey, as long as they weren't ripping each other's throats out, it worked for me!

"So, switching the subject here, Lynn, how are you?" Starlla asked, dragging all of the table's attention to me. I looked around, confused.

"What do you mean?" I innocently asked.

"Well… how are you feeling? Are you in any pain? Are you uncomfortable? How are you?" she asked in concern. That when it hit me.

"Oh… I-I'm fine…" I utter. I hated being vulnerable like this and being pushed against a corner. It was the same reason I didn't ever come to places like this. I ignore it, but I'm not blind. I can see the eyes of people who pass by me, judging me. Jen had pointed it out to me several times on top of that. I mean, who could judge them? I get it; I'm young and pregnant. Everyone can see it and its no secret, so I guess people think they have the right to give me dirty looks and looks of disgust. That's one thing I won't miss about being pregnant.

"When are you due?!" she asked with wonder in her eyes. I can see that she was clearly excited about all this, so I can't really get mad, but it did put me in an uncomfortable position, won't lie.

"Oh uh… I'm due January 30th—"

"So quick question, I hope this isn't too personal, but who's the dad?" Sky asked me, cutting me off. She glanced at me with a relaxed, yet sassy face as she gently sat back in her chair across from me. At that moment, I felt as if everything went silent and all eyes were on me. "Sorry for the intrusion of privacy, but it's just been something on my mind this whole time, and I have this habit of just… saying whatever I'm thinking, ya know?" she responded, just as calm, almost in a threatening manner. If I wasn't uncomfortable before, this was pushing a whole new level. I could feel myself growing hot and physically cowering under her glare.

"Uh, Sky, Let's… let's not impose. It isn't exactly the easiest question to—" Starlla began cautiously.

"Are you still involved with him?" she asked once more.

"Sky, it's actually something that we don't really talk about." Lincoln firmly stepped in. Whew.

"But why not?" she asked again in the same way. "It has to be something bad then, isn't it? What are you trying to hide?" she spoke. Her eyes really made you wanna shrink, and I wasn't having it at all.

"If she doesn't want to talk about it, don't keep imposing!" Jennifer quickly added in, coming to my defense.

"Yeah, you can imagine how hard this whole thing already is for her, let's not make it worse." David passive-aggressively noted.

"Fine, fine. No problem. Sorry, was just curious…" She commented. Through all of this though, she managed to maintain her suave, calm manner, without cracking. Whatever, I won't let this change my opinion on her, but something to be noted can definitely be one; she was pushy. Two, she speaks her mind freely without fear. And three, she is very good at making people uncomfortable! Maybe that can come in handy for other occasions…

A/N: Hoped you enjoyed this chapter! Now I have a question for whoever reading that I would really appreciate if everyone possible would answer either through PM or the review section. This is a story that will be going well into Lacy's childhood. Now, I can either split it into two books, this one finishing after birth and the next starting with how Lacy is going to be raised, or I can make it all one huge story. Please tell me what you would prefer because it's nearing that point. Thank you for keeping up with this story, though I know my updating is slow. I'm committing to updating at least 2-3 times a week though as a start. Hope to hear from you all!
