Lincoln

It's 4:33 in the morning and it's my second time being awoken tonight. For the past week, Lacy has been keeping both Lynn and I awake all through the night. I try to let Lynn sleep as much as possible, but then, she tries to keep me asleep since I still attend school. Right Now, I'm sitting on the couch, feeding her her bottle that I just heated up. Lynn has made it very clear that she wants Lacy to be only breast fed, no formula, for at least the first 2 months. Even then, she says if she can keep up with it, she wants to go longer. I support her in any decision she makes of course, so now, our freezer has a separate area just for that.

As I sat on the couch, half asleep, I watch Lacy. It's so hard to explain the amount of love I have for her. It's indescribable! That's why it is so hard for me to understand why our parents ignore us all the way they do. Speaking of our parents, we haven't gotten kicked out yet, clearly. Like Lynn said, they haven't gone in the room at all, so they don't know that we pushed the two beds together and moved Lacy's crib against the wall. It's easier like this anyway.

Tomorrow (or In a few hours I should say) I have to go to school, it being Friday. I can't believe Lacy is a whole week old now! She was just born what feels like yesterday! Since people at school don't know, I don't get questioned or anything, which is good. Leni left back to Rhode Island last Sunday, which sucked because she was such a big help, and we love having her around! But she is growing up and has responsibilities now, which also sucks! I look back at Lacy who has now finished her bottle and has her eyes shut, her chest moving up and down with every quick, short breath she took. I carefully stood up and put the bottle in the sink quietly. I then slowly made my way back upstairs and gently placed her in her crib. Before leaving, I stood there for 5 seconds to make sure she didn't wake back up. Luckily, she didn't, so I slid into bed again. I gripped onto Lynn's waist and pulled her close to me. She was facing the wall, but just having her near was enough to make me feel at ease. It was rather easy for me to fall back asleep since I was so tired! I'm telling you, all I did was close my eyes and I was out!

At school the next day, I felt my under eyes and my throat burn. Ms. Landerson read Catcher and the Rye to the class as we were told to follow along, but I was leaning on my arm, falling asleep. I then felt a thump on my head that woke me up. I turned around to see it was crumpled up piece of paper that was now on the floor. I picked it up and opened it to read "Damn Loud, must have had a crazy night with that sister of yours to be falling asleep like that! Easy Access, am I right?" I then crumbled the paper back up and turned around to see who threw it. I then caught a glance of Chandler and all his minions snickering as they glanced at me, high fiving each other. I was already dead tired as it was, so I felt irritated as hell. I gave them a death glare and threw the paper back, not breaking eye contact, hitting that son of a bitch straight in the eye.

"Ow! Ms! Lincoln threw his paper at my eye!" He whined. Landerson looked up from her book in annoyance as she let go a long sigh.

"Are you bleeding?" she asked melancholically.

"No—"

"Did you go blind?"

"No, but—"

"Then you're fine. Come on boy, this is 10th grade! There is no need to be interrupting me for such stupidity! And Lincoln, don't throw things in my class."

"But Chandler threw it fir—"

"I don't care, just no more throwing!"

"He wrote something inside that—"

"Am I going to be able to finish reading this chapter, or is this going to become a middle school cat fight?"

"Ms. Landerson, I was just trying to explain—"

"One more word Loud and it's ISS for both you AND Chandler!"

"What?! Me too?! I'm stayin' quite Ms! You don't hear me going off—" Chandler started.

"Okay, you know what? Fine! Lincoln Loud and Chandler McCann! Both of you will be making up your differences today at ISS during your Lunch period!"

"But—" He whined.

"No! No buts! Now stay quiet as I read this chapter! Others are trying to learn!" She finalized, going right back to the book. This sucks! I didn't do anything wrong! I'm the victim here! Ughh!

At Lunch, I was stuck in room 241—the detention room—with Chandler and stupid Mr. Olgy! He always smelled of straight up ham and cheese and ate his smelly tilapia in front of everyone! Chandler was sitting a few seats behind me, two rows to my right. He kept gazing at me though, I felt it. I looked at him to catch his eye. I then looked away, looking back again a few minutes after. He was still gazing.

"Can I help you, Chandler?!" I spit out, aggravated.

"This all your fault you know, freak!"

"Me?! I'm not the one who threw the paper in the first place! And why would you write that?! Seriously?! What are you? Like 12?!"

"Hey! I was just spittin' the facts! You just mad it's the truth you freak!"

"What do you know about the truth Chandler?! Honestly, you know nothing of anything! You are quite literally the LEAST qualified person to be talking about 'truth' okay?!"

"Okay then, so why are you so tired?" He provoked, trying to get me to crack. His idiocy just made me frustrated.

"I don't have to explain anything to you! Its none of your goddamn business!"

"Wow! You do realize the fact that you DID'T tell me adds more suspicion to you, right? First, McBride, now, Lynn? You are really fucked up Loud."

"McBride?! What the hell are you talking about?!" I became angrier.

"Oh, come one! Everyone knows that you two where a thing all through 5th grade and middle school! It was very obvious in case you didn't realize. Please, no two BOY best friends are that close. Its fucking gross! That's why you two stopped hanging out! You broke up!"

"Okay, first of all, Clyde and I were NOT dating! We were 11 years old! And second of all, even if we were, why would that be considered gross?! You know how fucked you gotta be to say that?! He literally has two dads! TWO! Not only are you offending the LGBTQ+ Community, but you're also offending his family! Yeah, we may not be friends anymore but not for the reason you think! And even if we're not friends anymore, I will still defend him and his family! There is no need to drag them into this you self-centered douche bag! Homophobia ISN'T a cute look! They are people just like us and there is no need to attack them by saying it's 'gross'!" I fumed. I hate Homophobic people! I may not be part of the community but I was around Clyde and his family long enough to know about the stupidity of people who believed they were gonna burn in hell and how completely out of place and hurtful it is! Especially after they have shown me and everyone else they have encountered with nothing but kindness! It makes their lives 10x harder than it needs to be!

"Wow… didn't know I was dealing with those people. Yeah, whatever you say weirdo. That doesn't change the fact that you fucked your sister!"

"I DID NOT! WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THAT?!" I blew.

"Because you did! Again, super fucking obvious! Tell me what siblings are that close to one another?!"

"Sorry your siblings hate you—oh wait, I'm not, they have good reason to! My life is NONE of you or the rest of your minions or the rest of the school's business! I'm tired of everyone thinking the same thing! You wanna know why we are so close?! You really want to know so you can tell the rest of your posy?! Well here it is! Lynn fell off of the roof a few years back and I was the one who rushed her to the hospital! If I wasn't there, she would've had a more severe brake to her leg and would have been out for the season in ALL of her sports! I broke her fall by somewhat catching her and now, she feels the need to pay me back! She became my 'maid' for at least a month as a form of payment, but then, because we were always hanging out, we became very close—best friends! That is all! There is nothing more to the story, nothing less! The ridiculous rumor that came about is absolutely disgusting and is NOT true!" I ranted. Yeah… Maybe it wasn't a complete shit story, and it definitely sounds believable… I think. He stayed silent for a minute.

"OK. whatever you say Loud." He bluntly spoke, not showing an ounce of emotion. I can't tell if he believed it or not, but he had finally decided to drop the topic. We then heard the Bell ring as if right on cue. We grabbed our stuff and made our way out the door, Chandler being the first. Before stepping out I look back at Mr. Olgy who sat speechless at his desk, his eyes wide open in disbelief.

"Uh.. Mr. Olgy… Whatever got said in this room, please keep it in this room… Please?" I begged.

"Don't worry 'bout me Loud… I didn't see nor hear anything." He affirmed. I nodded my head and walked out.

I sat on the bus my head leaning on the window as the soft melodic voice of Frank Sinatra played softly in my ear. Although I can agree that Lacy was quite a handful, a perfect example being, me being exhausted all day today, I could not wait to see her. I open the door and made my way inside, heading straight up the stairs and to my new room.

"Wow… Why aren't you the prettiest lady I've ever laid my eyes on…" I softly spoke upon seeing Lynn sitting on the bed, her back against the wall, breast feeding Lacy. She smiled upon hearing this, her cheeks illuminating a soft pink color.

"Please, I look like hell…" She breathed as I closed the door. I then dropped my bag, removed my shoes and crawled onto the bed with her, laying on my stomach near her. My original plan was to lay my head on her lap, but my daughter stole the spot from me it seems.

"If you look like hell, then tie me up and call me a sinner, cause lord, Whew!" I exasperated. Her cheeks were now red, and her eyes opened wide.

"L-Lincoln! You… you can't be saying that s-stuff!" She stuttered. I loved it when I could make her nervous and stutter.

"Why not my love? I'm simply expressing my utmost admiration to you~" I teased, kissing her outer thigh. She then looked at me with that one look that I know all too well, but it then turned into sadness, which confused me.

"Lincoln… I know where you are going with this, and I'm so sorry, but we can't… On top of mom and dad's rule, I was told to wait 4 weeks after giving birth…" She whispered in the most heartbreaking of tones. I sighed and sat up.

"Yeah… It's… it's okay… I know… It's just that… I miss you… god, I miss you so much…" I breathed.

"I know… I miss you too… a lot… but we have to wait…"

"Yeah, I know… But you're still the most gorgeous being I've ever seen, hope I've made that clear," I smiled. She smiled back.

"Thank you love, And you? Well… you're alright, I guess… I mean, I've seen better but I guess…" She teased.

"Gee, thanks babe! Really felt the love there!" This made her laugh. The one where her eyes closed, and her head drew downward. She was just so lovely in everything she did…

"You know I'm only joking, and I couldn't imagine being with any other person than you and your perfect self." She noted, kissing my cheek. "So! How was school?" my mood immediately fell. "Oh… That bad, eh?"

"It was terrible! I got ISS because of stupid Chandler!"

"Really?! What for?!"

"You know him… Just him being a dick and decided to throw a paper at me that said something about you and I having sex last night and—"

"Wait, I'm sorry, about WHAT NOW?!"

"Yeah! That since I was tired in class today, we were doing that last night! Unbelievable, right?!"

"Utterly! Wow… I'm sorry about that…" she sighed, covering herself back up since Lacy was done. She was wide awake, just looking at us.

"It seems someone wants to be part of the conversation~" I hummed, smiling at the baby in Lynn's arms.

"Of course! That's what she loves! To be part of it all!" Lynn cued, fixing her grip on her.

"Here, let me take her," I said, reaching out to grab her. Her huge eyes were as open as they could get, and she starred at me. They gleamed a light grey color, and they were absolutely beautiful. Big, like her mother's.

"Would you mind if I were to take a shower really quick while you watch her?"

"Of course not! Go ahead, you didn't have to ask you know," I commented.

"... Yeah... but still..." she mumbled, leaving the room.

It was now 5:30 PM and Lynn and I were sitting on the couch. Lacy was asleep in her swing, that was placed by the couch, and Lynn and I were doing schoolwork. That's when we heard a knock at the door. I exasperated an annoyed sigh as I got up to answer it. Without checking who it was, nor asking who it was, I opened the door to see...

"Clyde?" I questioned. This got Lynn's attention right away.

"Hey buddy..."
