Chapter 97
Hiccups POV:
It's been ten days since I met with Ra on his barge and in that time a lot has happened with me studying the tablets that I was given, helping Heatwave adapt to his new form and of course getting to know not only my new sha but also another new addition to our group. A day after I received the gifts I went into the desert to help Heatwave adjust to his new form and figure out what he could now and I was impressed with his new abilities. His scales were now like glass in both feeling and abilities like how now he's able to reflect light blinding opponents and when he flies directly in front of the sun the light shines right into him before he lets out a blast of pure light. This blast was similar to the ones the statues I keep in the griffins roost make but with him the blast can stored for long periods of time, the blast has a shorter range and it takes longer for him to fully absorb the light into his body. When Along with that his wings had become sharp as a timberjack and could now shoot spines that could pierce stone. Then there's his blast that used to be heated winds that is now molten glass or glass shards and when he turns into a sandstorm there are shards of glass mixed in with the sand, so all in all he's become more deadly then before. We did have to move his training back to the island however when a trader accidently wondered too close to our training grounds and nearly got hit with one of his spines. It was after this I decided it best we go home and Cleopatra accepted this but before I left she had me covered in gold again for stopping Ahura and allowed me to select and take ten books from her private collection.
When I got back to my island things really got interesting since it was then I used the other gifts I was given starting with the tablets. The one I got from Ra was like the first one I received that allowed me to create Heatwave and like the first one it summoned another Sand phantom dragon with one major difference. This one was female with shorter horns on her nose and forehead compared to the male. When Heatwave laid eyes on her for the first time his jaw fell open so wide I thought he dislocated it until the female that I named Sahara walked up to him to what I assume was to introduce herself. After that they both took off and I didn't see them till the next day where I could tell they'd gotten pretty close if their walking next to each other was anything to go by. It wasn't that hard to figure out why Ra gave me a tablet to summon her since it was clear as day that he wanted Heatwave to have a mate.
After that I took the other tablet that was gifted to me from Anubis and to say I was shocked with what it said would be an understatement. It was basically explaining to me that Anubis was giving me control over a small part of his army, how to summon them and how to command them. When I finished reading it the tablet turned to dust leaving only the ankh that fell into the palm of my prosthetic hand before like my stone of good fortune it was pulled into the palm. Now I could summon it into the palm of my prosthetic like I did with my stone of good fortune and use it to summon up to a total of fifty and a minimum of three Anubis warriors. (AN: Trust me, he's going to need them in the future.) I did so by placing my hand against the ground and saying 'Soldiers of Anubis, come to my aid for I am in need of your strength and the innocent are in need of your protection'. Once I finished speaking the ground around me would turn black before black sand rises from the ground and turns into the warriors who once completely formed stand to attention and salute me. The commander of the army stood out from the others by wearing a gold and blue headpiece and would always walk up to me before stabbing his double headed fan axe into the ground and bowing while saying.
"We await your commands master!" Then when I told them I had no orders for him he nodded before removing and then presenting a black metal khopesh with a gold line in the center and a pommel shaped like a snarling jackal head to me. "My lord Anubis forged this blade for you and gave me the honor of presenting it to you but its abilities are for you to discover." (AN: I realized he never got a weapon from the Egyptian gods last time so gave him one now.)
I took the khopesh before the warrior asked if they were dismissed for the time and when I told him they were they turned back to black sand and vanished. I did summon him back so I could ask him a few questions like what they were capable of, how to summon them without touching the ground, how long they can stay out before returning to the sands, how to defeat one of them, etc. I learned that the ankh had to be in contact with any solid surface to summon them, they can stay out as long as I needed and won't return to the sands until I dismissed them, in order to defeat them they had to be decapitated and they'd turn into sand until they could recover. Besides that I also used them to help me practice my fighting skills and I had to say they were skilled to the point where even I had a tough time beating them. I had to say if I ever got pulled into a war I liked my odds of winning since the Anubis warriors combined with my skeletal warriors I can grow with Damen's teeth I had my own private army. Once I dealt with the Anubis warriors I dealt with the waters of creation I was given which at first I wasn't sure what to do with until I pulled the vial holding the golden waters out and examined it. That was when I saw what to do in my mind and it all made sense before I gathered my dragons that could help in construction and got to work on a secret chamber below my Egyptian temple.
I had my whispering deaths dig a secret chamber beneath the temple with white marble pillars holding up the gronkle iron roof, the ground tiled with white marble, the walls were also white marble but decorated with hieroglyphics telling the tail of my battles in Egypt, hanging from the pillars were monstrous nightmare gel torches and at the end of this long hall was the key focus point of the room. A ten feet wide well with white marble lined walls with a small pedestal with a pure golden bowl resting on top of it in front of the well. Once the well was built a small spring of water began to fill it up and once the well was completely filled I poured the vial with the waters of creation into it. When the vial was completely empty it turned to dust while the water took on a golden color becoming the water of creation. I'm not sure what the waters are capable of but I know I can't let even the smallest vial fall into the wrong hands so I sealed the only entrance to the waters beneath the statue of Isis with my stone of good fortune. The way it worked is the key would need to be placed in a slot at the base of the statue and twisted in an exact way before the statue slides back revealing a square spiral staircase leading to the room where the well was housed with the well on the opposite end of the room. The entrance wasn't the only form of defense I put in though since I also had ten Anubis warriors stand guard behind the pillars with orders to stop anyone who wasn't with me. If by chance whoever were able to get down here made it past them they'd have to get past my final defense, which was the sphinx that lay behind the well.
When it comes to the sphinx I just buried it in the sands and then there was a bright yellow light below the sands before the sphinx burst from the ground letting out a mighty roar. When it laid eyes on me however it bowed before asking me what my bidding was. I named him Bas after Bastet who was considered a protector of Lower Egypt before I immediately assigned him guard duty over the well. Then there's the sha who I now knew to be a male and named Amr who really was rather playful but still vicious when defending others. Before we left Egypt there wasn't a second where Amr left my side besides when Toothless and me went on flights. He rarely let anyone come near me until I placed a hand on his head to calm her which I admit wasn't so bad since it kept the annoying nobles away including Henite. When we got back to the island he took off into the desert to explore after I assured him that everything was fine on the island. This past few days however he's calmed down a bit and has taken to mostly spending time with either Nylene or my dragons who enjoy the desert. I could easily tell a bond was forming between him and Maelstrom like that of friendly competition or rivals but they had come to an understanding where the forest belongs to Maelstrom and the desert belongs to Amr. As long as they both respected each other's territories there really wasn't any problems. These days Amr could mostly be seen wondering the desert, walking by my side or laying down in my Egyptian temple so like my other animals he mostly does his own thing.
Once that was all taken care of I finally began studying the Khopesh and its capabilities, which were both impressive and at times scary. When I stabbed it into solid ground the ground turned to sand that would trap the victim and pull them in as if it were quick sand but when I pulled it back out the ground would harden again. I learned when I cut it into something that's not alive it would reduce it into nothing but sand. The two powers that scared me however is one I discovered by accident when I was showing the khopesh to my father and Gobber in the village. Gobber tried to pick it up from my hands by the handle and a black flame covered the grip as he reached for it stopping him. It gave me such a fright it fell out of my hands and stabbed into the floor on my dads shadow. When it struck his shadow he felt a small shiver and was completely paralyzed from the neck down and when I twisted it by accident my dad screamed in pain until I twisted it back into place before I pulled it out. My dad made me swear to never ever, ever do that to him again since it felt as if his insides were being set on fire but when Gothi checked on him there were no injuries showing that the khopesh didn't injure him just hurt him. The khopesh now rested with my other god made weapons in the weapon vault in its own dome with a jackal head for the lock next. While I was there I was able to finally got to building lock heads for my other weapons. My hook got a tiki head lock, my scimitar throwing knives had a cobra headed lock, the dome that had my spirit bow and arrows had an eagle headed lock and my spear had a bear head lock.
As for the dagger that Ahura received from Seth, it's now on a pedestal in my trophy room surrounded by the golden heads of the minions of Seth with Adio's pendent resting below the dagger. I figured they'd be good reminders of my latest Egyptian adventure that I know my father was not happy about me going on. When he learned of the fights I got into with the minions of Seth and the living corpses he nearly popped a vein but I really can't blame him. Before I left for Egypt I told him that the worst thing I was most likely to face in Egypt was a couple of normal human bandits. Along with this Snoggletog was fast approaching and it would be the first one I actually bothered to spend with my dad since I missed the last one since for the first one I left the village to live with my dragons. This would be the first Snoggletog I actually spent in the village after so long so I could understand why he was eager we spend it together as it was a holiday to spend with family and friends. I just hoped nothing bad happened at this celebration since strange things tended to happen to me and I have a feeling in my gut things weren't going to be normal.
This brings us to where I am now which is hard at work in my forge putting on the final touches to the gifts I made for both my father and dear mentor and friend Gobber. My dad was easy enough since he's in need of a new war hammer since his old ones become worn out from years of use in the dragon raids and then using it in the wars before finally using it just for training. I made him a gronkle iron headed hammer with Norse engravings in the metal along with smooth polished wooden handle that had a gronkle iron grip that had been lined with leather. It was one of my finest pieces I'd ever made and as for Gobber he was a whole lot easier when it comes to gifts since these days I hear him complain about how hard it is for him to scratch his back. Naturally I made him a back scratcher prosthetic that was made of gronkle iron, shaped like a hand with its fingers stuck forward and when the bottom part is twisted the hand extends forward using a spring loaded pole as the fingers bend inwards to make scratching easier. I looked down at the engravings of protection and power I put into the hammer and smiled seeing it was perfect meaning I was ready for Snoggletog that is in just a few days.
I placed both the hammer and prosthetic on the cooling racks before making my way out of the forge to go visit the Bewilderbeasts nest to check up on my dragons. The reason is while I was hard at work in the forge my dragons were hard at work in the nest preparing for the arrival of new hatchlings. This is because during Snoggletog most dragon species lay their eggs around this time and my dragons were no exception as they already laid their eggs including my scauldrens. My dragons however weren't the only ones hard at work preparing for hatching the little ones however since I had been hard at work helping them out with making new nests for my tidal classes to keep their eggs. These nests were shallow ponds where the eggs were kept in front of large water filled pits with tunnels leading to where my tidal classes nested so the hatchlings would be able to swim straight to their parents. The lava below the ground heated the water the eggs were laying in so they'd have no trouble being warmed and helping the babies hatch.
I made my way out of my home and walked down the pathway leading to the ice nest while thinking how much life has changed for me with me going from the village runt to a world traveller with my own island and unimaginable wealth. Still though getting to where I am now has been no easy thing with all the training, foes, the wars and of course all the monsters I've been faced but in the end its all worth it in more ways than one. My mind was so full and going through the memories of my past adventures that I didn't even realize I was already in the bewilderbeast nest. I shook my head and said.
"I've really got to stop loosing myself in my thoughts so often."
I then walked down the tunnels which I know lead to the nesting sight where the eggs were resting. When I arrived I smiled at the sight of the female dragons watching over the eggs that were going to hatch in a few days. Of course not all the dragons chose to keep their eggs here in the hatchery since a few of them decided they were going to hatch them in the nests they already made. I respected this as did my bewilderbeasts and the parents understood I was their friend since I spent most of my days exploring the dragon nest and playing with them. I walked up to Violet who was nuzzling her own eggs but stopped when she saw me and nuzzled me as I chuckled and rubbed her head until she pushed me towards her eggs. I smiled as I kneeled down in front of them and gently stroked the shells avoiding the spikes on them enjoying how warm and alive they felt from the hatchling inside. I put the blue egg down and turned to face Violet and smiled as I said.
"I can hardly wait to see the little ones come into the world girl." She just squawked and nuzzled my chest as I laughed and rubbed her head since it was moments of peace like these I truly lived for since it was when I felt truly happy but it still didn't get rid of the feeling in my gut that something bad was going to happen.
2 hours later
I was standing at the top of the griffins roost with Plutarach lying behind me in his as I looked out across the ocean to Berk and smiled at the sight as it reminded me of one of my islands blessings that I take for granted. On Berk it was so cold you're snot freezes after you sneeze, if you stand in one place for more than a minute your shoes freeze to the ground and you get frostbite on your spleen while here on my island it was nice and warm to the point where I could still hop into the ocean naked and swim around for an hour and come out still warm as if I had been sitting in a hot spring. It was then something in the water caught my and after using my eagle eye I was able to see what it was I let out a sigh of annoyance and shook my head. Plutarach raised his head and let out a squawk of concern after hearing my groan as I turned around to face him before I said.
"I'm fine my friend but I believe we're going to have some uninvited guests rowing toward the beach by the forests." He lowered his head letting out a growl until I put my hand on his neck and gently stroked it. "Don't worry I'll deal with them."
He nodded before returning to his nest as I walked back to the platform and had it lower me down so I could meet my guests on the beach. When I reached the bottom I began my long walk towards the forest that was fortunately close by so I would be able to get there in no time. As I walked through the woods however none other than Hazel pounced me on from the side and then covered my face with her saliva all while I laughed at her antics. Soon enough the rest of the pack decided to join in her greeting me as I laughed and rubbed their heads. When I was able to get up I let them know I needed to go deal with some trespassers making them growl at the mention of people on the island uninvited but I held up my hand silencing them as I said.
"Calm down pack we'll go deal with them now and sure enough I'll take them back to Berk myself and make sure they're punished for trespassing." They all growled at this showing they wanted to help drive the trespassers off. "Relax, I'll just need Maelstrom for this but I want each of you on the edge of the forest by the beach incase they need a little extra motivation." They all growled and nodded before I lead them towards the beach where the ship was heading.
When I arrived there Maelstrom was at my side I found out that none other than Snotlout, the twins and Fishleggs who was the only one who actually seemed nervous had used the ship to get onto my island. I decided to hang back for a moment and see if they'd try to find me so they could possibly deliver a message but I doubted that was why they were here. Not surprisingly they began putting blankets down before Snotlout lay down on one, the twins went for a swim in the ocean while Fishleggs looked around in fear. It was then I heard Fishleggs say.
"I don't know about this you guys." They all turned to him. "Hiccup doesn't like people coming onto his island without permission." Snotlout rolled his eyes and said.
"Man up Fishleggs, we haven't seen Hiccup on Berk for days meaning he's probably on another one of his adventures in another part of the world meaning he doesn't know we're here." It was true I hadn't been on Berk for a few days but only because I was working on gifts for my dad and Gobber.
"But what if he comes back or if his dragons find out we're here?"
"Oh would you relax Fishleggs we won't be found as long as we avoid the forest and just stick to the beach." Tuffnut then said.
"Yeah and besides what're they going to do to us since there isn't anything they could do to us without them getting into trouble with our parents for hurting us." Ruffnut then said.
"And if Hiccup does find out we're here I'll just use my charm to get us off and maybe finally get him to show me around his place." It was then I decided to make my presence known and walked out of the forest with Maelstrom by my side.
"I have a better idea." They all turned to face me and I could see the color drain from the faces of the guys while Ruffnut just smiled. "How's about you lot tell me what you're doing on my island and if I don't like the answer then I drag each of you back to your parents and have them punish you for trespassing on my island." Maelstrom growled with both wolf heads as Snotlout stood up and said.
"Well we hadn't seen you in a few days so we decided to come and check up on you to make sure you're alright." I snapped my fingers and Maelstrom pinned him to the ground growling at him.
"Don't lie to me Snotlout or Maelstrom will be having an early lunch." He growled in his face before I turned to Fishleggs. "Fishleggs I know you'll tell me the truth or at least be able to come up with a more believable lie so start talking." He gulped and said.
"We came to your island to get away from the cold weather on Berk and have a small summer day."
"So you decided to trespass on my island, the one place in the world where I am at peace, my personal Valhalla just because you guys couldn't take the cold." Tuffnut then said.
"Come on Hiccup you know how cold Berk gets at this time so what's wrong with us wanting to enjoy a little fun in the sun."
"How's about the fact that you didn't even bother to ask permission to come to my island, you did so believing I was gone and you planned to get my dragons in trouble if they hurt you while getting you off my island." I then began walking towards them. "Now I want each of you back on that little boat of yours so I can have you dragged back to Berk where I'll be discussing you trespassing with your parents where we'll come up with a suitable punishment and I'll be making sure you actually are punished this time." I turned to Maelstrom. "Keep an eye on them boy and if they try to make a run for it sink your fangs into their legs to make sure they don't try again." Both wolf heads growled as the tail hissed as I walked away to get Toothless to pull the ship.
1 hour later
I walked out of the Great hall of Berk after talking with the Jorgenson, Ingerman and Thorston parents about their children's punishments. We had a long discussion about it and agreed to put them on manure duty for a month when the snow calms down and I couldn't blame them for waiting. This storm was worse than anything I'd ever seen and I'm including that one winter when the ocean froze over but there was something that bothered me about this storm. I'm not sure what it was but there was something about this storm that just didn't feel right. I dug my feet into the ground as a powerful wind pushed at me and I knew I should've worn my winter armor instead of my regular armor but I didn't think the storm would be this powerful. I figured it best to return to my island and wait out the storm there while everyone else waited out the storm in either the great hall or their huts like they did in other bad storms. I shut my eyes as the wind picked up and smiled remembering I brought my snow mask to help me see incase something like this happened. I pulled them out of my satchel and put them on smiling at the fact that I could see once more but my smile fell when I saw the village was practically frozen. I knew everyone would be fine in the great hall so I figured there wasn't anything to worry about and I'd come back to visit after the storm to make sure everyone was alright so I mounted Toothless and we took off back to the island.
We took off into the sky and flew back to the island but as we did the storm picked up so we had to gain a little more altitude to try and avoid the worst of it. I turned back to check on the village and noticed a strange light shooting out of the forest and into the sky where the clouds were circling around the light. I knew this was definitely something to investigate but I'd need to prepare first by changing into my winter armor, gathering my dragons who specialized in cold territories and of course getting my god made weapons incase whatever it was meant trouble. With that we took off back to the island to prepare for whatever it was that was letting that light out.
1 hour later
I was out in the sky on Toothless who'd been given fur ear flaps covers, alpaca fur saddle and alpaca fur arm covers and scarf to keep him warm in this cold weather. Flying next to me were my ice dragons who I knew could handle the cold consisting of Berg, Shard, Blizzard, Frostbite, Avalanche and Snowbell who I knew could handle the storm. As for equipment I kept all my god made weapons in my prosthetic, on my belt was a bag of Damens teeth since I wanted to be prepared if there were multiple enemie, my spirit arrow quiver was on my back and my prosthetic was loaded with nothing but red crystals to ignite my arm and channel fire into my weapons along with three hydra blood arrows as a last resort. I wasn't just brining weapons though since for all I know some poor beast could be under the abusive control of some dark forces so I was also bringing my calming flute to sooth it. Before we took off towards the light I noticed something that proved this storm wasn't normal and that was how there was frost on the treetops of my jungle trees when my island was shielded from this type of thing. We also stopped by the village to see how bad it had gotten and I was shocked to find out from Gobber that not even the forge could be lit no matter how hard he tried since it was so cold. This only added to my worry about that strange light I saw shooting into the sky and made me all the more determined to find out what it was that was going on.
I was brought out of my thoughts when Berg let out a roar as he barely dodged out of the way of a giant ice ball that came flying at us. Once that one had flown past us three more came flying towards us so I yelled out to my dragons to take evasive action to avoid them. As I ducked beneath a large ice ball I wondered what it was that was throwing these at us but that was all the time needed for one ice ball to come flying at us. It did miss us at first but when it came down it got Toothless in the tail damaging his prosthetic so he couldn't stay up and we went down before everything went black.
1 hour later
I groaned as I stood up rubbing my head before I heard a croon coming from the side. I looked towards the sound and smiled at the sight of Toothless until I realized his legs were frozen to the ground and he was in some sort of cage made of ice. I looked around and saw I was also in one and surrounded by all my dragons that were all in similar cages and we were all in some sort of ice cave. It was then I felt the ground shake as a loud booming sound filled the air and turned to see a blue giant that was four times bigger than my dad with white eyes that had light blue pupils, long white hair that was running down his back and looked to be made of crystalized thread, horns sticking out of his fore head, on his lower body he was wearing a black leather lowing cloth and clenched in his hand was a giant icicle being held like a club. I felt my blood run cold at the sight of him knowing this was a creature from tales I was told growing up, this was a frost giant but what it was doing in Midgard and not in Jotunheim I had no idea but if this storm was anything to go by it wasn't good. It snapped the bars of my cage opening it and pointed its icicle towards me before pointing it towards the entrance of the cave. It wasn't that hard to tell it wanted me to follow it but I still had all of my god made weapons so I'd be able to defend myself should I need to but right now I needed to figure out what was going on so it best I go with him so I followed him. As we walked away however I gave my dragons a quick hand signal not to move unless it was absolutely necessary since I didn't want to risk them getting hurt.
The frost giant led me through the ice caves that for some reason felt as if the cave was alive somehow. I shrugged and chalked it up to the magic of the frost giants since they were known to have ice magic. We walked through the tunnels till we came to a large cavern where there were multiple frost giants and at the back sitting on an ice throne shaped to look like it had skulls imbedded into it was a well muscled one with a large beard and a belt around his loincloth with a golden buckle that had some strange rune on it. The thing that caught my attention the most is the thing that was imbedded in the ground in front of the throne in the middle of the cave, which is an axe that seemed to be made of ice and steel and was releasing the light I saw before into the sky while the blade spun. Despite my clear shock I was pushed forward towards the one on the throne who looked down on me smirking until I was in front of him and in front of the axe. The frost giant stood up and walked up before looking down at me and asked.
"What are you doing here human?"
"I could be asking you the same question since we humans live in Midgard while your kind is meant to be in Jotunheim."
"I suppose you do deserve an explanation before the destruction of your race." This truly got my attention. "My name is Aegr and how we got here is long story that I believe might interest you before you perish in the cold." He turned back and began walking to his throne. "My people have charged the gates of Asgard hoping to strike a blow against the gods themselves long before either of our times and sadly have failed time and time again." He ran a hand over his face. "My father and his father before him had also tried but unlike them I knew that before we could strike the gods down they must be weakened and so with our magic's we forged a new weapon known only as 'The axe of eternal winter' which you see behind you and with our strength we enslaved a mighty beast known as the 'Winters wings' which is a dragon with the ability to harness the true power of ice." He sat on his throne.
"But what does this have to do with Midgard?" He smiled at me.
"With these weapons under our command we shall turn Midgard into a new Jotunheim where we shall breed an army of warriors and create new weapons to destroy Asgard by harnessing the life and magic of your world." He pointed to the axe. "Once the axe of eternal winter was lodged into the ground the transformation of Midgard began and there's nothing anyone can do about it."
"But what about the people in this world?" He raised an eyebrow. "You'll be killing countless innocent lives who have done no wrong and the majority of which have never even heard of the Norse gods and instead worship their own gods."
"They are of no concern to me and should they perish their life force shall help empower new frost giant warriors and more powerful weapons to aid us in our conquest of Asgard and then the other realms shall fall to us as well." He then got a smile on his face that I didn't like. "I should thank you for bringing those dragons of yours though."
"What do you mean?"
"I intend to infuse them with some of my peoples magic giving them a boost in power and like the 'Winters wings' they shall fall before our power and shall obey us." This got my blood boiling.
"You touch my dragons and I will turn you into a puddle you damn ice cube!" He just chuckled.
"You've got a fighting spirit and a flame in your heart little boy." He smiled. "I respect that and so I shall have you spared from the slow cold death of your race and have your death be quick and painless." He raised his hand and a pudgy frost giant with tusks like a boar and no hair walked forward with a giant icicle in his hand. "Suttung, make this young warriors death quick!"
The frost giant known as Suttung growled and nodded before raising his club and brought it down towards me but I raised my eagle shield to meet it and as soon as they met there was a large shockwave as the club shattered and Suttung was thrown back. I could tell the surrounding frost giants were shocked by this as they stared at me with their jaws dropped open. The only one who wasn't staring was Suttung who looked beyond angry and charged at me with his fists raised but when he brought them down towards me in a double fisted smash I jumped back so I was at the edge of his fists. I quickly released my star sword while channeling one of the red stones igniting it my sword so it would be more effective. I then grabbed onto his left hand as he lifted it before running up his arm toward his head but had to stop when he brought his right hand down to try and stop me. The hand landed in front of me so I took the opportunity to stab the top of it with my sword making Suttung roar in pain and throw his hand up carrying me with it. When he stopped I pulled my sword out and slid down the top of his arm towards his head with my sword still burning in my hand. As soon as I reach his elbow I got to my feet and pushed off towards his face and stabbed my sword right in between his eyes before he let out a roar and fell backwards while my sword sunk deeper until it was imbedded up to the hilt. It was at this point Suttung's body reached the ground with a large thud before his body shattered making me fall to the floor but I landed on my feet. I looked around at the surrounding frost giants who were all gaping as Aegr stood up and said.
"You killed Suttung!"
"I've faced creatures far worse than you frost giants." He then chuckled.
"Now I know who you are." He smiled as he pointed at me. "You're Hiccup Haddock, slayer of monsters, champion of mortals, tamer of beasts, warrior of the gods, monster slayer and one of Midgard's finest warriors."
"Well I don't know about the titles but I've taken down a lot of monsters and trained a lot to take them down along with any foe I face." He stared down at me.
"I could use you Hiccup but not as a meal but as an ally."
"I'd never help you."
"Hear me out first." I raised an eyebrow. "You, your dragons and those animals you cherish shall be infused with our magic giving you an immunity to the cold and the ability to control the ice to a point." He gestured around him. "You shall have command over some of my warriors as one of my generals and shall help lead the charge against Asgard and then the other realms including those of the other gods."
"Aside from the power your offering why would I help you destroy the gods who've gifted me with so much."
"Because if you do you shall be given one of the realms of your choice to rule over however you wish." I glared up at him.
"You could offer me every realm but I'd never turn against my gods ruled by the mighty Odin nor will I ever betray the gods who saw fit to give me their blessing or harm the countless innocents of this world so you can take your offer, freeze and then smash it." He sighed before returning to his throne.
"I'm disappointed Hiccup, you had so much potential but I can see you've made your choice." He sat down. "I shall still honor you with a quick death." He raised his hand to three frost giants standing on higher levels. "BRING FORTH THE WINTERS WINGS!" They pulled the chains they were holding that seemed to be stuck to the ground before three separate roars echoed around us. "You may have defeated many beasts Hiccup Haddock but I guarantee you have never faced anything like this before and you shall not succeed in defeating this one."
As soon as he finished the cave around us began to shake and move before the roof began to rise as the walls moved back. It was soon after it begun I realized that I wasn't in an ice cave but under the wing of a very large ice blue dragon and the giants who were standing on higher levels were really standing on the necks of the dragon that had collars that the chains were connected to. When it was fully uncurled I was looking at a dragon that reached the same height as the red death with four large bat-like wings that were white in color, two tails that looked to have giant ice crystal spiked clubs at the end but the thing that caught the most attention were the three giant heads. They each had two white horns pointing backwards towards their back except for the middle head, which had five horns like a crown. Their teeth looked as if they were icicles and their eyes were icy blue with no pupils and behind each head running down the necks were icy spines that connected at the body but split at the two tails. It was not something I could beat without my dragons until I saw the collars had red stones at the bottom and when the giants pulled the chains the heads roared in pain as the stones glowed and touched their necks. It wasn't hard to know they were controlling the dragon through pain using those collars to hurt it unless it obeyed them. I knew if I got those collars off it I might be able to calm it using my flute and then turn it against the frost giants. Even with this knowledge I looked up at the dragon that glared down at me and all I could say was one thing.
"This is not going to be easy."
No sooner did I finish speaking did the head on the right let loose some sort of white lightning towards me that moved so fast I was barely able to dodge it. When I looked back at the spot it hit I saw large ice shards were now sticking out where I was standing. (AN: Think of the ice beam from Pokemon.) I didn't get to think about it for long as the head on the left released a flurry of ice shards that were coming at me fast so I quickly unfolded my eagle shield to block them. I did it just in time because as soon as I did I actually felt myself be pushed back against the force of the shards but my shield held firm for what felt like an eternity. When the shards finally stopped I looked out from behind my shield but I quickly tuck and rolled to the side to avoid a strike from the head that had stopped firing shards at me. This put me directly in the path of the middle head that was glaring down at me before it raised its head ready to strike. It opened its mouth and let out a stream of blue flames heading straight at me. I didn't know what these flames did and to be honest I didn't want to know what they'd do to me so I held up my shield in front of me as the flames rushed past me but they didn't burn. When the flames stopped I looked to my sides I saw an ice wall. I knew this meant if I got hit with that flame I wouldn't be cooked, I'd be frozen.
"Talk about ice so cold it burns!"
I knew that if I wanted to live through this I needed to get to those collars but first I needed to get rid of the frost giants holding the chains. When the left head lunged at me again but this time I as it passed me I released my spirit bow and took out a fire arrow. I took aim at the frost giants back and let it fly towards the middle of its back and smiled when the giant turned to face me only for the arrow to strike it in the chest. It let out a roar of pain letting the chains go before he fell off the dragons neck and shattered before he reached the ground. The head however didn't realize this and lunged towards me again but this time I grabbed onto the chain and used the force of the lunge to toss me onto the top as I sheathed my bow and released my starsword. The head roared as it thrashed around to try and throw me off but I held onto the chain until I was able to slash the collar making it fall to the ground as I grabbed onto one of the horns. I raised its head high before it swung to the side once more to the side and I lost my grip sending me falling.
As I fell though an idea quickly came to me and I released my hook before launching it at the nearest giant on a head, which was the one riding the right head since the left head tossed me towards it. My hook reached the giant and hooked around his shoulder before I began reeling myself in while also pulling the giant back and loosen its grip on the chains. I swung below the neck and around the head just as the giant was able to get my hook off. It threw it off the side just as I came flying from the side and delivered one solid kick to its face. Since it was on the edge of the dragon's head it fell right off after letting the chain go in shock. I quickly finished reeling my hook back into my arm before releasing my sword free once more before I sliced through the collar that fell to the ground as the head let out another roar. With two of the heads free I only had to deal with the middle head and I knew this one wasn't going to be as easy as the other two since the frost giant was hiding behind the middle heads multiple horns.
It was then the head I was on did a low sweep throwing me off and sending me sliding across the ground but I quickly got up as the middle head let loose more blue flames. I held my shield up and ran to the side avoiding the flames as I held my shield to block any stray flames. As I ran though I also ran closer to the side of the head so I'd be able to hopefully get to the side and get to the giant behind the horns. When the flames stopped I was right next to the head that was lowered to let loose the flames. Seeing an opportunity I put my sword away and launched my prosthetic hand towards the closest horn and got a grip before I quickly reeled it in and pulled myself towards the back of the head. I quickly reached the head and landed on the back but before I could do anything the giant used his free hand to grab me pinning my prosthetic to my torso but leaving my real arm free. I grit my teeth in pain as the giant crushed me while smirking at my pain and with my prosthetic pinned I couldn't release my weapons but I still had one idea. The giant lifted me towards his face as he laughed while I struggled but reached for my prosthetics shoulder and released a red crystal into the palm of my hand right before I threw it into the giants laughing mouth. I smiled as the crystal went down his throat before he dropped me so he could hold his throat that I'm sure was burning as I landed on the neck behind the collar. I smiled at the giant that was now screaming in pain before it fell off the neck as its stomach glowed red and then it melted from the inside out. With the frost giant out of the way I was able to quickly release my starsword and slice through the collar letting it fall to the ground right before the head was able to throw me off. As soon as I landed Aegr roared in anger before saying.
"You fool, those collars were the one thing that allowed us to control the beast and now without them nothing's controlling it."
Soon as he finished the Winters wings raised all three heads to the sky and let out roars followed by blasts of their respective breaths causing a short rain of large hailstones that I used my shield to block. When they finished all the heads looked around glaring at anything that moved. A large group of giants charged at it but it swatted some to the side with its tails, bashed into some with its heads before firing a combined blast at the remaining charging giants. When it stopped I saw how cold their combined power was since the frost giants, beings made of ice and cold, were frozen solid. Its heads then turned to me as I slowly pulled out my calming flute as it prepared to blast me but I stayed calm and began playing. The song echoed through the area as the Winters Wings calmed down as the frost giants all watched in shock and seemed to be stunned at how I was calming the large dragon. When I stopped playing the heads were lowered and right in front of me so I slowly reached my hand out to the middle head and gave it a pat on the nose as I said.
"I'm not like the frost giant who hurt you, I want to help you but you have to let me help you." It growled and tilted its heads. "I have an island nearby with a large nest that has a few dragons your size who I'm sure will be happy to welcome you or if you want I can allow you to make your own nest where you'll be safe." It was then slow clapping was heard and I turned to see it was Aegr doing the clapping.
"How sweet and I will admit the way you were able to calm down the winters wings was impressive but meaningless for this world will soon belong to me and my race." He then signaled two giant at his side. "Take care of him while the others get the collars back onto the beast." I released my spirit bow and readied a fire arrow ready for a fight as the two giants charged only to be cut off by a familiar screech followed by a plasma blast in front of them before Toothless along with the other dragons I brought with me came to land in front of me.
"You guys sure know how to make an entrance." They just growled. "Listen guys lead the Winters Wings out of here and back to the island while I handle the frost giants." They all turned to look at me as if I'd gone mad. "We can't risk them enslaving it again so just go and come back for me later, I'll be fine." I could see they didn't want to do it but took off with the winters wings following however Toothless let loose two plasma blasts into the faces of the two charging giants as Aegr said.
"We'll capture the beast again later after you're world ends but I'll end you now!"
He charged at me with his club raised while I put my bow away and ducked out of the way of his swing before multiple giants joined his attack. I knew I didn't stand a chance against all of them so I took off my satchel holding Damen's teeth and threw the teeth inside to the ground releasing the skeletal warriors to keep them busy. I ducked beneath another swing as this happened and quickly released my khopesh blade as Aegr's shadow landed on me with his club raised high. I stabbed the blade into his shadow and he froze in place growling out.
"What have you done to me?" I gestured to my khopesh.
"My latest god made weapon from Anubis allows me to leave my enemy paralyzed." I looked around at the surrounding battle as the giants did their best to knock back the skeletons only for them to get back up. "While our warriors do battle why don't you tell me how to stop the axe of eternal winter from destroying my world?" He just glared.
"I'll tell you nothing." I knew how to get him to talk but I didn't like it, I twisted my khopesh making him scream in pain.
"Tell me and I'll stop the pain." He just growled so I twisted it further increasing his pain and making me sick until he said.
"I'LL TALK JUST STOP THE PAIN!" I twisted the khopesh back into its original place making him sigh in relief. "To stop the axe you must pull it from the ground but it'll cause an explosion wiping out everything within thirty feet and now the power its releasing will be too cold for you to handle."
"Thanks for the info." I began walking to the axe.
"Wait you're not thinking of going through with pulling it out, are you?" I turned my head to him.
"And what if I am?"
"You'll not only kill all of us but you'll be condemning yourself to cold, slow and painful death."
"I may die today but I've lived a good life and the rest of the world will live." I shrugged. "The life of many out weighs the life of one."
I walked closer to the axe and struggled to get to it due to the winds surrounding it and as I got closer things just got colder. When I reached the axe it was colder than anything I'd ever felt and when I grabbed it I felt as if my remaining arm was going to turn to ice as I screamed in pain. I quickly began pulling the axe out but struggled as I did so while pieces of my armor were thrown off by the wind and ice exposing my skin to the elements and making it feel as if I was on fire with how cold it was. When I saw the axe was almost out I looked to the skies thinking of Toothless and how everything I was now was because I met him before I said.
"Seeya bud!" The axe came out and the last thing I saw was a bright white light.
AN: Could this be the end of Hiccup Haddock or will more follow, just wait and see. I hope you've all enjoyed the chapter and are having a nice time with Christmas coming. Till next time please keep your reviews kind.
