Ch. 01: Reunion ※

Vibrant green eyes snapped open as Lily Potter regained consciousness and took a long shuddering breath, only to immediately frown as she felt her head slam against a hard, yet heavily padded, surface. What made things even more bizarre for Lily, was the fact that she couldn't see a damn thing, which was all but impossible seeing as how her eyes could pierce the infrared spectrum.

Tilting her head so that she was looking at her body, Lily saw that it was lit up as would be expected for a living mammal, then she turned her gaze upwards, and saw that it was now beginning to gain color definition, which caused her to groan in annoyance as she muttered, "There goes any hope of pretending to be human."

With that in mind, Lily twisted about in a way that approximated turning on her heel and pulled herself into a magical vortex as she Disapparated from within her coffin.

Not even a second later, a loud cracking noise was heard within the ruined wreck of the Potter family's cottage, heralding Lily's return to her former domicile. It didn't take her more than a second to realize that it had been several years since her fateful encounter with the arrogant prick who styles himself as Lord Voldemort, and that tracking down her son was now of extreme importance.

Carefully making her way through the halls between the nursery and the master bedroom, Lily frowned when she saw that the door was ajar, but shook it off and stepped inside, only to scowl when she saw that the room had been ransacked.

"I thank Rao that we were keeping most of our personal belongings in the Potter family's ancestral vault." Lily murmured as she moved over to one of the walls and pressed her palm against the surface, which began to hum with a form of power that was unheard of within the magical world, and which would have been difficult to comprehend even in mundane society at the time in which Lily had faced Voldemort.

Lily pulled her hand away from the wall and watched as a small portion of its surface reconfigured itself to reveal a hidden crevice made out of glowing white crystals that were the Kryptonian equivalent to a wall safe. Reaching inside, Lily dug around for a moment before grinning victoriously and withdrew her wand, as well as the Vault Key to her late husband's Ancestral Vault.

With that done, Lily tapped a small button on the safe and watched as it seamlessly transformed back into a bare wallface. She then turned on her heel, Disapparating for parts unknown.

Harry Potter was trying to enjoy a nice quiet afternoon away from his antagonistic relatives when something truly peculiar transpired, and that's saying something, considering Harry himself is quite extraordinary. Here he was, sitting on one of the swings in the local park, when a blonde girl, who seems to be masquerading as a comet, crashes head first into the Wendy House and completely demolishes the structure.

Being the helpful young man that he is, Harry immediately stood up and began making his way over to the presumably injured, if not dead, girl, only to blink in mild surprise when she began muttering under her breath while extricating herself from the ruined Wendy House.

"Okay, so obviously peaceful negotiation is not an option. Still, throwing me all the way to Timbuktu is just not cool. Wait…" the girl frowned as she took in her surroundings, "This isn't Timbuktu, is it?"

Harry snorted and said, "No, this is a children's play park in Little Whinging, which is a suburb in England."

The girl frowned at this knowledge, then looked at him funnily and said, "Yeah, well, you might want to hightail it out of here, I'm expecting company, and it seems she's quite hostile."

"Oh, he can try, but he won't get far." another feminine voice remarked from up above them, prompting the grounded pair to look up.

Harry frowned as he looked back and forth between the two women, and asked the one on the ground, "Is she your sister?"

"Er," the much younger looking blonde murmured. "Something of that nature, yes. Now if you'll excuse me."

Harry watched in amazement as the younger blonde jumped into the air, crossed the distance between them, and tried to land a punch on the older blonde. Unfortunately, it would seem that the older blonde was expecting this, and dodged to the side before the blow could land. "Nice try, now watch as I atomize that cute boy."

Harry didn't know who these girls were, but they obviously weren't expecting to encounter the Boy Who Wrestles with Mountain Trolls, Slays Basilisks, and Who Can Outfly a Bloody Dragon! As such, he met her charge with a reciprocating throat grab, and unlike the other two, he succeeded in making a connection!

His would-be victim immediately grabbed his arm and began pulling his hand away from her throat, only to release a loud expletive once she had succeeded, followed by shooting a glare up at her fellow blonde and saying, "I thought you and the Boy Scout were the only Kryptonians on this planet?"

"I'm actually an Argoan," the younger blonde retorted. "And that's what we thought."

The elder blonde scowled at that information, while throwing a low kick at Harry, trying to take him off his feet, only to growl in annoyance when he jumped into the air and over her head, placing him behind her back. Her annoyance skyrocketed when his arms slipped around her neck, clearly intending to try for a chokehold. She solved this by shifting her weight in just the right way to cause his right hand to land on one of her breasts.

"Gah!" Harry exclaimed in flustered shock as he released his hold and got as far away from her as he could without leaving the battlefield.

It was at this moment when almost invisible beams of energy slammed into the elder blonde, but which had a negligible effect on the battle due to how resilient she was in comparison to her younger counterpart. It did, however, distract her for long enough that Harry was able to finally grab hold of her and subject the woman to a current of magical electricity that cut through her impressive defensive abilities like a hot knife through butter.

In fact he was channeling so much raw magic into her body that he only needed to maintain the hold for a few seconds before she slumped to the ground in an unconscious heap.

"Okay, so not a Kryptonian, or at least, not any sort of Kryptonian I've ever heard of." the younger blonde remarked as she landed next to Harry and her unconscious elder counterpart. "Who are you anyways?"

Harry sighed and said, "I suppose we did manage to skip out on the introductions. My name is Harry, what's yours?"

She frowned and said, "Strictly speaking, I'm not supposed to give out my name while performing heroics, but… Why is it suddenly so damn cold?"

Harry frowned as he too was suddenly feeling quite cold, "I really hope this isn't because…"

It didn't take him long to realize that a pair of Dementors were bearing down on them, and that his wand was conveniently back at home. "We are so screwed."

"Never fear, Harry dear." another feminine voice intoned from further the opposite direction from the Dementors. "As if I would allow such abominations to come anywhere near my precious little boy. EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

A bright silver light leapt into the air as the woman's corporeal Patronus formed a physical barrier between the trio and the approaching Dementors. What is more, the Dementors themselves were cut down by a far more powerful version of the Heat Vision that the young blonde had used earlier in the battle. It was so powerful, in fact, that it vaporized the Dementors as soon as it touched them.

"Oh? How interesting." the approaching woman, who was a beautiful redhead, intoned as she took stock of the other newcomer's appearance. She then turned to look at the two blonde girls and said, "Even more curious."

"Mum?!" Harry inquired in a confused and rather shocked tone of voice.

"That's right sweetie, it's me." Lily agreed as she swept forward and pulled him into a hug. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you all of these years, but even a Kryptonian will be taken out of action by a well-placed Killing Curse, even if only temporarily."

The floating man wearing what seemed to be blue spandex cleared his throat and said, "I'm sorry, but did you just identify yourself as a Kryptonian?"

"Yes, and you seem to be adorned in an approximation of Kryptonian Battle Armor that bears the sigil of the House of El, which is odd, considering I don't know of anyone from that family who would be on this planet. In any case, my name by Kryptonian reckoning is Lillia Ryk-Van, this is my son, Har-Van. Would you be so kind as to identify yourselves?"

The gentleman's face softened as he said, "I'm Kal-El, son of Lara Lor-Van. This is my ward, Kara In-Ze of Argo, and her… sister I guess, Galatea In-Ze."

"Um… Mum," Harry murmured from where he had been staring at the now identified Kal-El with a slack jaw, "That man is really, really famous, like probably the most famous man in the world."

Lily rolled her eyes at her son's antics, and looked at Kal-El and said, "What will become of Galatea now that she has been subdued?"

Kal-El sighed and said, "I'm honestly open to suggestions, because everything we've not had much like getting her to see reason."

Lily nodded her head and pointed her wand at Galatea, while formerly intoning, "I, Lillian Juliet, Dowager Lady to the Noble and Ancient House of Potter, do formerly adopt this girl, Galatea In-Ze, as a ward and vassal to my family. As I say, so mote it be."

A flash of magical power was released as the spoken oath was accepted and sealed. Kara looked at Lily in confusion and asked, "Okay, so what the heck was that? And… is that an owl?"

Harry and Lily both turned to look in the same direction as Kara, and frowned when it did indeed turn out to be an Owl. Lily's frown turned into a scowl when the owl dropped the envelope it was carrying, which turned out to be a Rao-damned Howler, which immediately opened up and declared,

"Dear Mr. Potter,

We have received intelligence that you performed the Patronus Charm at twenty-three minutes past nine this evening in a muggle-inhabited area, and in the presence of a muggle.

The severity of this breach of the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction for Underage Sorcery has resulted in your expulsion from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ministry representatives will be calling at your place of residence shortly to destroy your wand.

As you have already received an official warning for a previous offence under Section 13 of the International Confederation of Warlock's Statute of Secrecy, we regret to inform you that your presence is required at a disciplinary hearing at the Ministry for Magic at 9 a.m. on the twelfth of August.

Hoping you are well,

Yours sincerely,

Mafalda Hopkirk

Improper Use of Magic Office Ministry of Magic."

Harry blinked in surprise as he shot his mother a confused look, "But you cast that charm!"

"Yes dear, but since you are the only Wizard who is normally in this area, the Ministry assumes that it was you who cast the spell. They are also overlooking the fact that it was used for the specific purpose that the charm was created for, banishing Dementors." Lily explained to her audience. "Now, I think we've spent long enough out here, how about we move to a more comfortable location, like my sister's living room? I just can't wait to see her expression when I appear at her front door."

Kara giggled, while Kal-El frowned and said, "I really need to report in with the Justice League. Kara, I trust you can find your way back home?"

"Wait, does that mean I can stay?" Kara asked in amazement, having never expected such a development.

"I don't see why not, Lillia and her son are family after all. Just stick to your Argoan name or heroic moniker when around other people." Kal-El advised his foster cousin.

"You can count on it!" Kara enthused as she flew forward and hugged him for a moment, before floating back down to the ground.

They all watched for a moment as Kal-El zoomed off into the sky, and then turned their attention to the unconscious girl. Lily frowned and "Okay, Harry, what exactly did you do to her?"

"I… Um… I may have used magic to subject her body to the same amount of electricity as one could usually expect to find in a lightning bolt, give or take a few thousand volts."

Lily leaned down and checked the girl for a pulse, sighed in relief when she found one, and then hit her with an rennervate, causing the girl to reflexively throw her fist forward, which Lily deftly caught in her hand saying, "Now, now, there will be no more fighting today. I am also revoking your frequent flier miles."

Galatea blinked in mild confusion, both because of what this unknown woman was saying, and also because she could actually think straight for a change. "What happened?"

"We can discuss that in more detail later. Right now, we need to relocate." Lily stated as she helped Galatea to her feet.

"Galatea?" Kara inquired.

Galatea turned to look at her, frowned and said, "I never wanted to hurt you, but…"

"Mum, she is acting like she was under the Imperius Curse." Harry realized.

"I would tend to agree," Lily remarked. "Now come along."

It didn't take them very long to reach the Dursley residence, and they were greeted by a rather frazzled pink-haired Auror, and an older gentleman that took one look at Lily and promptly fainted in shock. The pinkette scowled at her dubious partner and said, "What the ruddy hell?"

"Is that my little Nymmie-Poo?" Lily cooed out, causing the pinkette's head to snap up so that she could look at her in horror.

"Wut?!" gasped the horrified pinkette at the same moment in which her hair shifted into a lurid yellow color that was offset by deep black stripes, like those of a zebra.

"It is! It is my little Nymmie-Poo!" Lily exclaimed as she turned to the two girls standing next to Harry and said "Girls, allow me to introduce you to Harry's second cousin or something like that on his father's side of the family, Nymphadora Tonks. She used to play with Harry when he was still a baby and she was just a young girl."

"No!" Tonks roared out as she tried to shush Lily, even if it was likely in vain, "Don't say another word! And don't call me Nymphadora! My name is Tonks, and just Tonks!"

Kara was giggling by this point, while Harry and Galatea had just rolled their eyes at the girl's antics. Lily smirked at those same antics and said, "Of course, sweetie; now why exactly are you and my wolf here?"

Dora scowled at Lily and said, "Who are you exactly? I only ask because you can't possibly be who you look like."

Pointing her wand at the unconscious man, Lily once again cast the rennervate charm, and watched as the man regained consciousness. She then smirked at Dora and said, "Mister Moony, it gives me great pleasure to announce that Mrs. Prongs is very much alive, and that she is most definitely up to no good."

"Mischief managed." Remus Lupin groaned as he regained his feet and said, "I recognize you and Harry, but who are the two girls?"

"These are Galatea and Kara, both of whom are under the protection of House Potter, with Galatea actually now being a vassal thereof." Lily explained. "Kara on the other hand is the ward of one of my cousins."

"That must explain why the Headmaster is at the Ministry trying to overrule Harry's expulsion." Remus remarked.

"That's nice of him, but it wouldn't matter since I am the one who cast the offending spell and all subsequent spells this evening." Lily admitted. "And since I am over the age of wizarding majority, I am allowed to use magic outside the boundaries of Hogwats, even if it is done in a muggle-inhabited area, so long as muggles remain oblivious to the existence of magic."

"That's nice and all, but you have two muggles in your company," countered Dora in a rather petulant tone of voice.

Kara frowned and said, "For the sake of clarity, what exactly is a muggle?"

"It is a word that refers to humans who lack the ability to use magic." Lily explained patiently.

"Oh, well we aren't muggles then, because Galatea and I aren't human." Kara drawled.

Dora frowned at her and said, "You definitely look human."

"Could a human do this?" Galatea inquired as she walked over to Vernon Dursley's company car, grabbed hold of the front bumper, and lifted it into the air so that the vehicle's entire length was in a vertical line with her body. She then bent at the knees and gently pushed herself into the air, which compounded her feat of superhuman strength several times over in the minds of the two Wixen.

It was only now that Dora took note of the S-shaped symbol on Kara's t-shirt, and which caused her to begin gushing about the possibility of meeting someone she was referring to as Wonder Woman, which was met with a variety of reactions, even as Lily turned to Galatea and said, "Be a dear and gently place the car back onto the ground."

She then turned to Remus and said, "Harry and I need to collect his belongings, and then you will escort us to whatever hideaway that the Order of the Phoenix is using as a base of operations."

"And yet more mischief will be managed." Remus remarked as he watched Lily and Harry give Petunia Dursley the shock of her life.

Author's Note: This was a long time coming, as I kept running into problems whenever I tried to come up with a plot for this sort of an idea. I have no idea if this will be successful or not, but this is the start of what I hope will be an interesting fic, if nothing else.

I haven't really decided what I plan on doing as far as a romantic pairing for Lily, since right now she is in an "overprotective mother" frame of mind, and not really interested in romantic pursuits. Harry, however, will have his hands full when it comes to romantic overtures from beautiful women.

In regards to Galatea, she has the body and physical might of a fully mature female Kryptonian, but is mentally and emotionally only one or two years older than Kara, who is sixteen (not counting time spent in cryo-stasis) as of the current chapter. This contrast between Galatea's mind and body is made even worse due to the fact that she has spent almost her entire life under a similar effect to the Imperius Curse.
