Chapter 138

Hiccups POV:

It's been two months since Torch joined my dragons on the island and in that time a lot has happened with my dragons, my animals, the village and me. For beginners my parents had finally calmed down to allow me to relax a bit on Berk without my parents constantly watching over my shoulder. I had to say it was nice to be able to take a stroll through the village without my parents following me around trying to convince me to not go on any more travels to new places. As for Torch, he'd settled into life with the other dragons and spent his days flying around the island or relaxing in the volcano with the other dragons. I did train him for a job to help out on the island lifting heavy items and also using his take off ability leaving a large scorch mark in clearings since the scorch marks always leaves flowers growing where the ground was burned. As for his friend the rumblehorn who had been protective of Torch from the beginning, he'd gotten pretty close to Greta but we did have some troubles. He's hard headed and doesn't listen to me most of the time but despite this he's also protective of the dragons and very powerful so he's pretty much like a dragon version of my father, which lead to an interesting outcome.

My dad had come to me one day when I was helping Gobber train Jamie in the forge and made a request that actually shocked not only me but Gobber as well who actually asked if he was feeling alright to which I was also worried. This was my father we're talking about, the man who was determined to stick to doing things the Viking way and no other way but was now telling me he wanted to do things differently by training him a dragon. To say I was shocked would be an understatement since I'd made the offer before and he turned me down claiming that as the chief of Berk he did things the Viking way, not the Dragon way. Gobber actually tried to drag my father to Gothi's for a checkup but sadly my father was not as amused as I was and threatened to use a bludgeon on him.

When Gobber calmed down I told him to go back to teaching Jamie while me and my father sat down and had a simple chat about why he wanted a dragon all of a sudden. He told me that he wasn't as young as he used to be and had begun having trouble getting to places he used to be able to get to without trouble. Along with this he wanted to be able to enjoy taking flights with my mother so they could get some uninterrupted alone time, which was more than I needed to know. He also told me he wanted to spend a bit more time with me since he thinks it could be a good way for us to do some father-son bonding since he failed to do that when I was younger. I admit it was rather touching so I agreed to help him train a dragon and knew him and the rumblehorn would be a perfect match since like Gobber and Grump they had a lot in common. To begin with they're both defenders, they're both powerful, they're both hard of hearing most of the time and both hard headed knuckleheads who need to learn to listen. His training took a week but by the time it was over both he and his rumblehorn now named Skullcrusher were rarely seen apart and I am happy to say he no longer come down on me about how dangerous my trips are.

I admit I had enjoyed seeing my father able to enjoy flying like me and my mom and I did enjoy joining him for a flight to do some father son bonding. My mom also enjoyed flying on Cloudjumper next to my father but sadly my dad learning how to fly did bring up some problems for me as well. With my dad now having his own dragon people were once again bothering me and my mom for the knowledge on how to train their own dragons since me, my parents and Gobber all had our own dragons, they felt it was only fair. It was annoying since I often had to deal with these people whenever I was simply taking a stroll through the village, helping train Jamie, dropping off gronkle iron or just talking to Ylva with whatever she needed to get off her chest.

Sadly because of this I'd also been having trouble with people coming to my island in order to train their own dragons which lead to a lot of angry dragons that they were bothering in their attempts to train them. Gothi wasn't too happy either since this often led to me dropping off multiple new patients for her who were injured in their attempts to train dragons. It was because of this that I'd spent most of my time on my island keeping an eye out for trouble and had Scardian lead his pack on constant patrol to avoid any more trouble being started by the people trying to train dragons.

Along with this since I was spending so much time on my island I'd gotten to work on a few things like sculpting a white marble statue of one of the leopard men I faced in Africa and used it to model the stuff the real ones wore that I took as a trophy. I'd mostly spent my time training with my ninjas and I think I'd made quite a few improvements with my form and combat style when it came to duel wielding Pirus and Ventus, using both ends of my shadow sickle when the chains out and of course trying a new fighting style when using my ice claws. Of course, I'd also spent some time in my workshop building some new automatons that I knew would be helpful to me depending on the situation I find myself in.

To begin with I'd built an automaton designed to look like a palm sized wasp with a powerful sting and named it 'the stinging wasp' which is mainly for guarding things or attacking enemies stealthily from a distance. Its body is made from a thin sheet of gold mixed with gronkle iron using fusion ore while the bottom of its six feet is made of latch stone to allow it to hold onto walls. The inside of its body holds a lifestone allowing it to function while its eyes were made of peeking stone connected to my eye allowing me to see what it sees. The wings were made of flattened Featherstone and able to vibrate fast giving my wasp the ability to fly. Finally, the abdomen where the stinger is connected has a small vial inside it while the abdomen could open up allowing me to replace this vial with whatever's needed whether it be speed stinger venom or a lethal poison. The stinger itself is an inch-long needle that can be pulled in and out of the wasps' backside so it could be dipped in whatever's in the vial.

Along with the wasp I also created an automaton taking the form of a small bronze spider the size of my hand and was mainly made up of bronze mixed with gronkle iron using fusion ore and named 'The bronze spider'. The lifestone that allows it to function is on the back forming the abdomen while the metal that made up the body held onto it. The head had five glow stones and one peerstone mixed with glow stone so it looked like the others while the others were for show alone. As for the legs, there's a total of eight legs with the front two being larger than the others and also possessed vials built into them so they could inject a poison or venom through needles at the end that can be pulled in or pushed out. The other legs on the other hand had latch stones on the tips allowing them to climb while just above those tips were sheets of the metal that could lower down to create hooks. The reason for the hooks is the joints of the legs had my unbreakable threads wrapped around them and holding them together allowing the legs to shoot out and wrap around the victim before the hooks connected. This would leave the victim restrained and unable to stop the spider from injecting its two front legs into the body of the victim but I mostly intend to use it for recon on enemy fortress's. I did have plans to make more of each of these automatons but for the same purposes with the both playing a big part in the creation of new automatons but that would have to wait till the bigger ones are actually built.

After a few tests I'm happy to say that they are both successes and I have plans to make more of them soon for their purposes. Of course, there were some people who weren't too happy with how I tested them since it often ended with them getting hurt or scaring the life out of them. For example, when I tested the wasp for the first time I had it fly around the village Bucket thought it was a real wasp and jumped into Mulch's arms in fear but unfortunately Mulch was surprised and fell back into an empty wagon. The wagon then went rolling down the hill and the path, down the dock and into the water with my wasp following after them allowing me to keep an eye on them from my spot in the great hall where I was eating lunch with my parents who were confused by my laughter. As for the spider test, I ran those tests in the great hall having it climb around the walls and lower itself from the supports onto the table. Sadly, when it first lowered itself it ended up landing on Spitelouts shoulder who took one look at and screamed so loud he got everyone's attention before brushing it off to the ground and running out of the hall. While he did this I just summoned my spider back to me as I shrugged while muttering how I never knew Spitelout was afraid of spiders.

It hasn't been all work for me on my island though since I've also spent my time enjoying some down time with my animals both normal and magical. I had been enjoying riding Aylen bareback through the great planes, running in the Indian desert with Cheveyo and his pack, surfing the waves on Wave Chomper, playing with Adal and the wolves in the forest, swimming with Kal, watching my griffins sore in the griffins roost, reading a book in my desert gazebo with Nylene resting her head in my lap while Amr slept at my feet, meditating in the bamboo forest with Dogame gently beating his drum while Beruto-usu gently rang his bell and Nagareboshi lay behind me and of course raising Mfalme in the savannah.

Other than that, things had been pretty peaceful for me and I had to say for that I was grateful since it took me a month to dry out my flying carpet and now it smells like old camel which is a smell that is not only going to take a while to get rid of but also smells almost as bad as Gobber before his bath. Besides the bad smell my carpet now has nothing's happened other than that, winter has arrived so things were freezing in the village. Of course, with the cold weather the people have begun asking if they could spend winter on my island like last time and like last time I turned them all down but as always, they didn't seem to know the meaning of the word no. It drove me absolutely nuts but a little growl from Toothless or one of my other dragons often got them off my back for an hour at least before the cold got to them again and it would start all over again.

Presently I was in winter armor with grootslang coat that was white and closed up with my winter armor beneath it, walking through the village with Toothless at my side and Jamie on his back since we were giving him a lift to Gobbers because the snow made it hard for him to get to the forge. I was happy to help the kid out since I remember the troubles I had getting around the village with the snow when I was a child. I smiled as we walked up to the forge and helped Jamie of Toothless while he thanked us for our help in getting to the forge. I walked into Gobbers hut section with Jamie and found Gobber sitting inside looking over a sword on the anvil but he was looking down but if that wasn't a clear sign that something was wrong what he did next was. He picked up a cup with a rag and toothbrush soaking in wastewater from the run off trays, which I informed him of as he drank it. He immediately spat it out and began coughing it up as asked.

"Alright Gobber, what's going on that's got you so down?"

"Is it really that obvious?" I smiled and crossed my arms.

"Gobber, we've known each other a long time, I know how to tell when something's bothering you." He sighed.

"You know me too well lad." He used his hammer prosthetic to gesture to the bin that was used to hold the ore but was now empty. "It's the ore or rather the lack of it!" He lowered his arm. "The shipment from chilblain is late." I raised an eyebrow.

"And?"

"It's never been late before." I nodded. "Not once in over thirty years and nothing short of a catastrophe can stop or delay a slalom sled once it's in motion."

"Maybe there's a slight problem with the road they're taking."

"They don't use roads lad, they use whichever ice canal that leads to the destination and turn up however-many days later." He sighed and began pacing. "Those shipments are among the few things in life a body can truly rely on." He got a thoughtful expression for a moment. "Other than warts or you getting into trouble." I glared at him before I sighed and shook my head.

"I take it you really admire the people of Chilblain." He nodded and then looked up in thought.

"Spent some time up there as a younger man, and I learned to respect their rugged, solitary way of life, but not agree with it exactly." He lowered his head. "It's a harsh existence, but an honest one." He then got a serious look as he looked at Jamie and I. "Trust me lads, Chilblain makes Berk look like a spa resort."

"If that's the case Gobber than they might be in trouble."

"Agreed lad."

"Have you talked to my dad about it?" He shook his head.

"No!" He then turned to the door. "But I should." He opened the door. "Come on, Stoick will know what to do." As he stepped out he turned back to Jamie. "Jamie, hold down the fort while I'm gone." Jamie nodded and answered.

"You can count on me Gobber." I smiled as he gave a salute since it was cute before I followed Gobber back outside and closed the door behind me and followed Gobber towards the great hall where my dad was.

Half an hour later

I was in the middle of the great hall with Gobber, my dad along with a few other men and my mom sitting at the table in front of me discussing the lack of ore delivery from Chilblain. Well the men were discussing it while I was busy trying to keep the goblets from flying off the table with the candle labra. The reason for this is Gobber was currently using his prosthetic to bludgeon the table into oblivion. It was then my father brought an end to it by saying.

"Gobber, you can stop bludgeoning the high table into submission." I grabbed my dad's drinking goblet that just went flying. "I agree!" Gobber much to my joy stopped and lowered his prosthetic.

"Oh, ah sorry."

"The Vikings of Chilblain are-"He paused. "Well if not our friends exactly then our allies and there's precious few enough of those, so we go but it's not going to be easy." Those at the table nodded. "The ships will only take us so far, then we hit pack ice and after that, it's a hard trek into who-know-what." I decided it best to cut in then and said.

"You're going to need aerial reconnaissance." He nodded.

"We're going to need you and your dragons Hiccup." I nodded.

"I'll put together a small team and we can use my ship to get there since it's faster and unsinkable so safer for traveling." He nodded as he turned to my mother.

"Look after the village while I'm away Valka." She nodded.

"Just, be careful love." He nodded. "And look after that son of ours since he gets into enough trouble as it is." I groaned at this as they chuckled before I said.

"Could someone just tell me what kind of weather and terrain I can expect so I know which dragons I should assign to the team?" They nodded before Gobber replied.

"The village is on a pretty large mountain called mount Ymir and the weather is so cold the icicles have icicles so dragons that are good with high places and are good with the cold." I smiled.

"I know the perfect dragons for this job." I turned to my father. "Meet me at the docks in an hour and I'll have my ship and dragons ready to head out." He nodded and made my way out of the hall with Toothless following.

1 day later

I was sitting at the head of my ship looking out at the cold oceans as large glaciers passed by my view as the ship sailed across the ice-cold seas. Next to me was Toothless in his winter gear in the form of a fur saddle, fur leg wraps and fur earflap protectors to keep him warm. As for the other dragons I brought with me, they didn't need any form of protection since they were my dragons that were used to subzero temperatures. This team consisted of Berg, Shard, Frostburn, Blizzard, Frostbite, Avalanche and Snowbell since they were all native to cold areas I figured they'd be good for this mission. My dragons were sitting on the deck along with the Vikings who included my dad and Gobber who like the rest of the men, were doing their best to stay warm with some staring at me with either curiosity or envy. Gobber walking up to me brought me out of my thoughts as he said.

"Just ignore them lad, they're mostly just jealous that you're acting like you don't feel the cold." I raised an eyebrow.

"Gobber, I can't feel the cold since my battle with the frost giants remember."

"Oh, yeah." He stroked his moustache. "I forgot about that." He shrugged. "To be honest I'm actually pretty jealous of ye meself lad." He rubbed his covered arm. "I don't suppose you have any of those toasty alpaca fur blankets laying around, do you?" I frowned.

"Gobber, do you honestly think I keep blankets made of alpaca fur that could help keep people warm just tucked away on my ship?" He looked a little down before I smiled. "Of course, I do Gobber, I wasn't going to come to a place where frost giants would go on vacation without preparing a few things." He smiled.

"Think you can give one to old Gobber."

"Gladly, just let me go down to the store room to collect a few for everyone." He smiled as I walked away while mentally thinking I should make my dad a coat from the stuff since it looked like his beard had frozen.

1 hour later

The ship had docked ten minutes ago and my dad had the men begin setting up a camp for our stay in these cold conditions while me and my dragons scout out the area and check out the village. I did leave my snow wraiths behind to help guard the campsite and keep an eye out for trouble. Now I was on Toothless with my other dragons, wearing my snow mask to see through the blizzard that we were flying through to reach the village of Chilblain. It was then I saw what I believed to be the village but it was surrounded by a cyclone of snow. Along with this I saw a sled covered in rubble revealing there'd been tremors of some kind, which showed why, Gobbers shipment hadn't come. I knew there was most likely more to this than meets the eye so it's best we proceed with caution and continued towards the village and flew into the cyclone.

As soon as we flew in we were thrown around by the wind forming the cyclone as I held tightly onto Toothless' saddle doing my best to avoid being thrown off while steering him towards the village. When we broke through the cyclone we found ourselves looking at a village built around a large mountain that I knew to be mount Ymir, but what caught my attention the most was what was happening to it. Dragons were attacking the entire village but they weren't dragons that were native to cold icy regions, they belonged to species that preferred warmer climates. What's worse is the weird weather and tremors was scaring them and getting them worked up into a full-on frenzy, which was only made worse by the people of Chilblain who were attacking them. I growled as the citizens launched their catapults at the dragons as I said.

"We have to convince the people that the dragons aren't the problem and it's only a matter of time before Ymir sheds its icy skin and buries Chilblain." We flew in close only for them to launch flaming arrows at us before I yelled out. "WE'RE FROM BERK AND WE'VE COME TO HELP- "Before I could finish however another flurry of arrows launched at us cut me off making me growl as I turned to my dragons. "FALL BACK, FOR NOW GUYS!" They each growled and we took off back to the camp.

1 hour later

It's been an hour since we went to the village of Chilblain only to be driven off by the citizens who greeted us by attacking us and in that time, we had returned to the village and I'd given my report to my dad and the others who had set up five tents and a fire on the cliff overlooking where my ship was docked. While we discussed this while the dragons waited outside on a pile of hay, resting from the attack. During the meeting Gobber went onto explain how the Vikings of Chilblain don't go with dragon training, with their chief Hagan Frostbeard leading them thanks to his belief that dragons are still an enemy. This led to a major problem since the ice canals were out of commission the only way to evacuate would be by air using dragons. It was for these reasons I was sent with Gobber who knew the people to see if we could talk some sense into the people and begin evacuation. We hiked through the snow to the gates after having Toothless and Frostburn hide in a small ice cave since they'd stick out while the others hid in the surrounding snow. Sadly, we were greeted by guards at the gate who weren't too pleased to see us if their spears were anything to go by but Gobber was able to get them to let us through.

This brings us to where I am now which is waiting outside the village's great hall while Gobber and Chief Hagan talked things over. I was leaning against a tree with my eye real eye closed while my other remained open under the patch as I thought of a way to evacuate the village without causing trouble since from what Gobber told me Chief Hagan is more stubborn than my father and that's saying something. I knew I might be able to have Adal create a portal to take everyone down to where my ship was docked but I'm not sure if that was far enough, if the people would trust the son of Fenrir and on top of it all I didn't want to put too much strain on him. As I thought about Adal I couldn't help but be a little worried since both he and my wolves have been acting a little odd these past few days but I shrugged it off as them just acting up.

It was then the ground began to shake again as I used my covered eye to look around and watched as an elderly man tripped over and knock over a barrel sending it rolling down the hill. I opened both eyes when it fell over the edge of the path and landed on a parked wagon full of crossbows with some of them loaded with arrows. Sadly, when the barrel struck the wagon it jostled the cargo making some of the crossbows fire causing a small bunch of arrows to fly and the people to scatter as they flew through the air. I was glad everybody was able to get inside and avoid the arrows but I saw a girl who looked to be my age trip and fall to the ground right in path of the arrows.

Knowing I couldn't let her get hurt I activated my ox flame boots speed mode and ran towards her reaching her seconds before the arrows struck. Before they could strike her, I turned my back to the arrows while spreading my coats flap so it completely covered the girls' part and having my coat create a hood that covered my head. I looked down to see the girl had her eyes closed and was curled up in fetal position most likely waiting for the arrows to strike her. It was then the arrows landed with some of them landing next to us but I didn't lower my coats flap for a second until I knew there were no more. I then let go of my coat and stood back up but saw the girl was still in the same position as she was before so I sighed and said.

"You can open your eyes now; the arrows are done coming." She opened her eyes and stared up at me as I offered her my real hand which she took as I helped her up. "Are you alright?" She just nodded before the sound of footsteps running towards us caught my attention and I turned to see multiple running towards us but they were all staring at me making me raise an eyebrow. "Is something wrong folks?" They looked at me as if I were mad before a man with blond hair that was tied up in an upward braid answered.

"Lad, you've got arrows sticking into your back and you're asking if something wrong." I looked over my left shoulder at my back and saw there were at least eight arrows imbedded in my back.

"Well I'll be darn." I shrugged. "No big deal." It was then my coat began pulling the arrows into it as I walked up to the Viking who told me about the arrows who like everyone else was staring at me shock before I had the arrows move into my hand and hold them out to the man. "Deal with these will you?" He just took them as he continued to stare at me before another man asked.

"How did you do that?" I turned to the man who had brown hair that was covered with a helmet that had one horn facing up and the other down.

"My coat is made from the skin and bones of a grootslang I faced in Africa." They all stared at me before the man from before rubbed his chin.

"Africa?" I looked at him. "I don't think I've ever heard of that adventure but I have heard of your battle with the Frost giants." I raised an eyebrow but before I could reply the other guy answered.

"We know all about you Hiccup, word gets around even far out here." I nodded before he said.

"My names Kettil." He then gestured to the other guy. "This is Frey." He then pointed to the girl who I now saw had red hair with the top being held down by a spiked metal headband who was now looking down while rubbing her left arm. "And the girl now trying to hide her blush is Gunilla." She eeped at this before Frey said.

"We know all about you and your dragons but we haven't heard about this place called Africa." I shrugged.

"No surprise since it was my latest adventure plus not that many people in the archipelago who've heard of it." Kettil then asked.

"Do you think we could see your dragons?"

"If Gobber can convince your chief to allow them into your village without being killed." Gunilla giggled before she said.

"Good luck with that." Kettil then said.

"Yeah, around here things move at a pace that can only be described as glacial." He shrugged. "Change is something that happens to other people." Gunilla then said.

"So, while we wait for the talks to finish inside would you mind telling us about what happened to you in Africa and what a grootslang is?" I smiled and walked back to the tree before leaning against it and said.

"Sure, I don't mind and I'll be happy to show you what a grootslang using one of the gifts I got from the African gods." With that I made an illusion in my arms making it look like I was holding it of the land and began telling them what happened in Africa.

In the Great Hall

Nobodies POV:

Chief Hagan was a stubborn man who would put a mule to shame but he was loyal to his village and knew how to hold a grudge. He was also an overweight man with red hair and a messy beard and moustache that just reached his beard in length while wearing a metal horned helmet with yellowish green leather strips at the back that covered the back of his head. As a chief when it came to his people what Hagan said go's, which was not, always a good thing as Gobber had been talking to Hagan for the past half hour about the need to evacuate the village but the man wasn't going to budge on the subject for more than one reason. One of the main reasons Hagan wasn't Gobbers number one fan and made it clear to him by bringing up the past when Gobber first came to his village and broke his daughter Smulder's heart. Smulder was a strong woman with red hair that cascaded down her back with a blue cape under it, a metal belt and skirt lined with fur in the middle and had just told Gobber he was forgiven for what happened. Before they could say anything else though another tremor struck the village causing a minor avalanche outside as all three rushed outside as Gobber called out.

"HICCUP?" He looked around until his eyes landed on Hiccup who was making his way up the stairs with the others making him sigh in relief. "Thank Thor!" He then turned to Smulder. "But this is a disaster just waiting to happen." He then looked back to Hiccup. "We have to evacuate." An avalanche began forming as Smulder and Gobber looked up while she replied.

"I agree and if my father won't listen to reason, it's down to me." It was then Hiccup reached the top of the stairs before Gobber grabbed his real arm as he said.

"Listen Hiccup" He began shaking him lightly. "We need a mass exodus and fast so any ideas?" Hiccup looked around as he muttered.

"Maybe." His eyes then landed on a large sled with multiple seats. "But I'm going to need ropes, harnesses and a lot more dragon lift." He then smiled. "And I think I know where to find it." I brought my fingers to my lips and let out a whistle calling my dragons to me who flew to me landing on the wooden deck by me in seconds making him smile. "Alright guys, I need you guys one of you at the front and one of you at the back of each of those sleds and be ready to carry them." They each growled as he turned to Kettil, Frey and Gunnila. "You three start tying the sled ropes to the legs of my dragons so they can begin evacuating everyone by air." They nodded as Kettil asked.

"Right but what about you?" Hiccup smirked.

"I'm going to unravel a mystery with Toothless." With that said he mounted his nightfury and they took off.

Hiccups POV:

We flew around the mountain looking for an entrance into the mountain to solve the mystery on what's going on around here since the dragon breeds that attacked the village shouldn't be able to survive this far north. The question was how did they survive and thrive in this weather and environment when they should've died out long ago. I didn't know how they were able to do it but I had a bad feeling about it and knew it most likely meant trouble. It was then I saw an opening in the mountain side and steered Toothless towards it since I had the feeling the answer to all this lay in there.

We flew in a tunnel for a few seconds until we entered a large cavern full of both dragons and lava which is when everything began to add up. Mount Ymir wasn't a mountain but an active volcano that was home to the dragons who were enjoying the heat of the volcanos lava that was heating the entire cavern. Of course, I realized that this volcano was heating up as the lava began to rise showing me that it was nearing eruption and that means I needed to get these dragons out of here and the people of Chilblain as well before it erupted. I needed to get control of these dragons so they could help evacuate the people. I smiled knowing exactly how to do it and had Toothless land on one of the higher platforms and activate his alpha mode so we could begin getting them out to help with the evacuation.

Outside

Nobodies POV:

The entire tribe was in the great hall looking at a large stage where a wooden throne for the chief rested and standing in front of it was Smulder with her father chief Haggon one her left and Gobber on her right. She looked over the people hoping to convince them that it was best to evacuate the village or perish. She looked at her people as she announced.

"MY FATHER, YOUR CHIEF, IS USED TO GETTING HIS OWN WAY, I SHOULD KNOW BUT THERE'S A THIN LINE BETWEEN RESOLVE AND BLOODY-MINDEDNESS AND NOW IT'S GOING TO GET US ALL KILLED!" She stepped forward. "IN HOUR OF NEED, WE'VE BEEN OFFERED HEL WHICH MY FATHER HAS SPURNED JUST BECAUSE IT INVOLVES DRAGONS!" She gestured to the people. "IT'S YOU CHOICE TO EMBRACE WHAT WE KNOW TO BE TRUE, WHAT WE SAW WITH OUR OWN EYES ONLY THIS MORNING AND THAT IS HUMAN AND DRAGON IN HARMONY!" Haggon then cut her off.

"DON'T LISTEN TO HER!" He held out his hand. "IT WOULD BE MADNESS TO TRUST OUR LIVES TO OUR MORTAL ENEMIES, THE DRAGONS!" Smulder then finished what she was saying.

"OR FOLLOW MY FATHER INTO OBLIVIAN!" When she said this there were murmurs before everyone began chanting out her name and how they were with her.

In the volcano

Hiccups POV:

I smiled as all the dragons bowed to Toothless recognizing him as the alpha species knowing now we could get them all out of this volcano before it erupts and hopefully help evacuate the village. I rubbed Toothless on the head before I looked down at the lava that was still steadily rising and knew that I may be able to swim in lava I doubted many of these dragons were as resistant. Knowing this I looked down at Toothless and said.

"Think you can get these guys to help us get these guys to help out with evacuating the village?" He gave a growl and nod before turning to the dragons and roaring making them all began taking off making me smile. "Let's go bud." With that said we took off with the flock following behind.

Back in the village

Nobodies POV:

Gobber and Smulder were leading everyone towards the sleds that were tied to the dragons Hiccup brought so the sleds could be carried with the people to safety. They were both leading the people towards the sleds and ensuring the line kept moving without anybody being left behind. As Gobber tied the end of a rope to a sled while Kettil tied the other end to Blizzard's leg he said.

"Soon as Hiccup gets back, we go." He tightened the knot. "I have a nasty feeling that we haven't seen the worst of it!"

As soon as he said that mount Ymir erupted sending burning rubble flying through the air as people ran in fear while the snow melted causing a massive avalanche wiping out anything in its path. Despite this Smulder kept urging her people to keep going and not to stop while also shielding them from some of the debri. It was then the familiar whistle of the nightfury echoed through the area making everyone look up to see Hiccup with a glowing blue Toothless leading a flock of dragons towards them. As they flew towards the sleds Hiccup yelled out.

"THE CAVALRY HAS ARRIVED!" Toothless then let out a roar and the dragons swooped down grabbing the ropes tied to the sleds as Gobber smiled before he yelled.

"PREPARE TO CAST OFF!" He then hopped onto one of the sleds. "IT'S NOW OR NEVER!" The dragons all got ready to take off. "AND LIFT!" When he said this they all took off but as soon as they took off Smulder yelled.

"WAIT, GOBBER WHERE'S MY FATHER?" Everyone looked around looking for chief Haggon only to see him standing right in the middle of the avalanches path as he yelled.

"IF CHILBLAIN GOES THEN I GO WITH IT!" Hiccup growled as Gobber got ready to jump off to get him but Hiccup looked at him and said.

"DON'T WORRY GOBBER, I'VE GOT HIM!" With that said he leaped off Toothless and dived towards Haggon while spreading his wings to glide towards him and land next to him. "WE'VE GOT TO GO MAN!" He pulled away from Hiccup.

"NO, I'LL GO DOWN WITH MY VILLAGE!" Seeing the avalanche was fast approaching and Hiccup knowing there was no way he could convince Haggon to go in time yelled out.

"ADAL!"

As soon as the word finished leaving his mouth a howl echoed through the area before a portal opened up ten feet away from them and the son of Fenrir jumped through heeding its masters call for aid. Before Hiccup could give him an order he looked up and saw the avalanche rushing down the mountain and towards his master. Without hesitation he ran for Hiccup and Haggon before jumping above them and lowering his body onto the two Vikings. Not five seconds past before the full might of the avalanche came down on them completely burying both Adal and the two men below him while those on the sleds watched in horror from the sky. Nobody moved or said a word as the avalanche slowly came to an end allowing the dragons to lower the sleds to the ground but Gobber didn't wait for them to land and hopped off when they were five feet from the ground. He ran to the place where he last saw Hiccup and Haggon before he dropped to his knees while tears formed in his eyes as he said.

"He was a good man that Hiccup, always trying to help people." He sniffled. "How am I going to tell Stoick about this?" It was then the ground in front of him began to lift up which he noticed before he asked. "What the-" He was cut off by Adals form standing up and shaking off the snow while also revealing a pit beneath him with Hiccup and Haggon with Hiccup stretching and muttering.

"Don't want to do that again." He brushed off some of the stray snow before climbing out of the pit and looking at Gobber as he raised an eyebrow. "Something wrong Gobber?" That was all he could say before Gobber had him in a tight hug while chanting.

"You're alive!" Continuously before putting him down with his hand on Hiccups shoulder. "But how?" Hiccup just pointed to Adal.

"Ice is Adal's element Gobber, I called him in before the avalanche struck and he was able to shelter us from the snow." Adal then walked up and lowered his head to nuzzle Hiccup who just chuckled and rubbed the wolfs head. "Good work pal and don't worry there's a big leg of yak waiting for you when we get home." He growled in pleasure before Toothless and Hiccups other dragons ran up to join him making Hiccup chuckle but as Hiccup looked around at the destruction the avalanche and eruption caused he knew that his work here wasn't done yet making him sigh before he said.

"We've got a lot of work ahead of us." Toothless just growled and nodded as Adal just growled.

Ten days later

Hiccups POV:

It's been ten days since the village of Chilblain was destroyed by the eruption of mount Ymir and in that time a lot has happened in this village. To begin with Smulder has taken over as chief while Gobber and her had forgiven things that happened in the past with them but I preferred not to know what happened since it's their past so none of my business. Other than that, rebuilding of the village had been coming along quickly with the help of the dragons doing all the heavy lifting and helping collect the supplies so construction could continue. Along with them I took the liberty of summoning my Anubis warriors to help out mostly helping dig out the village from beneath what is now slush. Also, since so many people kept asking for me to tell them about my adventures I spent my evenings showing everyone my adventures like I did on Berk and like back on Berk I couldn't get a moments peace after. Fortunately, I was able to get some peace in my tent that I set up in town so I'd be able to help out without needing to travel back from my ship. All in all, things were alright with the village nearly completely rebuilt to the point that it should be finished within three days but the people of the village were going to have to do that themselves since we'd left earlier today with all the dragons since it would be safer for them on my island.

Presently I was out on the ocean looking out at the sea with Toothless at my side while the other dragons were down below deck in the dragon holding area resting and avoiding the cold. As I stared out at the ocean I couldn't help but wonder how the new dragons would take to their new nest since being moved so far from your original home after its destroyed is never easy for anyone. Along with this Adal was still acting strange but I hoped it was nothing serious since for all I know he might just be feeling a little edgy with winter coming but then again with him being the son of Fenrir I couldn't be sure. I let out a sigh knowing it was best I keep my guard up since there was no telling what might happen with him so I have to keep my guard up.

AN: Yeah, I know it's not so great but as I've told you all before my well ideas for Berks adventures are low so go easy on me. I do appreciate all of you who reviewed with ideas but until this morning I couldn't read them for some reason but now I can so sorry. I'm looking forward to using them in future chapters but for now, we're going to China where Hiccup shall meet his first bride unless you wish to see another Berk chapter.
