Chapter 153
Hiccups POV:
I got into my battle stance as the fog circled me and my spirit guide who had shrunk down and now sat on my shoulder and was now looking around. As I looked around at the fog I couldn't help but feel like there was more to it than met the eye while the strange feeling of Déjà vu came to me. It was then I noticed glowing lights within the fog before a voice said.
"Hello, Soaring Eagle." I sighed now realizing why I was feeling of Déjà vu.
"It's been a long-time spirit."
"Indeed, it has but we are happy you came to our aid."
"I was happy to help but could you please explain to me why you couldn't deal with Silver Bear yourselves."
"When Spirit Bear first came into our world he'd already begun dabbling into dark magic and any spirit that came into contact with him was corrupted by this magic and you've seen what happens to those spirits from your encounter with them in your world." I frowned at this and nodded as a question came into my mind.
"What happened to turn him into that giant monstrosity?"
"The bear that was his spirit guide tried to guide him away from this dark path but failed and like other spirits was corrupted by his dark power." I nodded. "When the corruption was complete he merged with his spirit guide becoming one and forming an unbreakable bond between them while the dark magic morphed their now combined body into the demon that you fought."
"What's going to happen to the spirits he corrupted and the ones I killed in my world?"
"Spirits do not perish the same way as you mortals Soaring Eagle, when you struck them down in the mortal realm they reformed here in our world and when you defeated Silver Bear you took his darkness with him freeing those in this world that he enslaved." I nodded.
"Well that's a huge weight off my shoulders." I smiled. "It's nice to know that this whole adventure is finally over."
I looked around when silence was the reply. "It's not over yet is it?"
"The spirits who were in this world were stripped of the darkness and freed from Silver Bears control but the ones in your world still suffer from this dark magic."
"How do I free them?"
"To free them you must defeat them."
"What about the weapons I blessed so they'd be able to affect them."
"Those weapons shall only disrupt their forms while your weapons damage them so severely they must return here to reconstruct themselves with the darkness stripped from their bodies allowing them to be free once more."
"You want me to stay in these lands and take on the corrupted spirits?"
"We can't force you but if you do you shall be aiding the lands greatly and returning balance to the world." I nodded.
"I'll do it but how do I find them and how will I know when I've wiped them out in one place like the forest or Great Planes?"
"Have faith in your spirit guide and your hunting skills for they shall lead you to the prey you seek but remember that with their master destroyed they have nobody controlling them and the dark magic makes them crave death destruction."
"In other words, they're going wild and are going to attack villages."
"That is correct but they'll stay in their own environments such as the desert, the planes or the forest so you shall have to visit each one in order to find them." The fog began closing in on me. "Now it's back to your body in the mortal we send you and wish you luck on this hunt to cleanse the both worlds of this darkness that has stained them." Then the fog filled my vision and when it cleared I was back in the spirit cave with Toothless looking at me in concern but I just smiled at him while getting back up and stretching to rid myself of the stiffness in my body as I said.
"Don't worry bud, the king has been dealt with and now all we'll have to do is clean up the stragglers." He cocked his head to the side. "There are still a few corrupted spirits out there bud and we've got to hunt them down." He growled and shook his head. "I know it's a pain but if we don't deal with them now then they'll be big trouble for the locals, including those we consider our friends." He growled hearing this making me smile. "I knew you'd be up for it bud." I then walked over to my armor and began getting dressed. "Well bud, I'm not sure how many of those spirits are still out there or how long it'll take us to take them all out but I know together we can take them all down and return them to their proper forms." He roared in approval as I put my grootslang coat back on followed by my third arm sash and smiled at him. "Well bud, let's go hunting." He growled and nodded as I mounted him and we took off out of the cave going through the wall that blocked the entrance as if it weren't real and begun the hunt from the sky searching for anything that could show me where my prey was.
Two weeks later
Two weeks since my battle with the bear of shadows and two weeks of hunting corrupted spirits when I wanted to go home, embrace my wife and then sleep for a month. If anyone heard what I'd been doing then I doubt they'd blame me considering all I've been through in these past two weeks. I'd been spending every waking moment hunting down the corrupted spirits with Toothless and taking them down as fast as I could and they did not lack variety when it came to their species. I'd taken on coyotes, vultures, giant rats, wolves, owls, bears, deer's, bison, bulls, eagles, wolves, moose and so much more sending them all back to the spirit world to be cleansed of the dark power that corrupted them. My spirit guide became a major part of finding the areas they'd claimed as their own but tracking and taking them down were burdens that lay with me. I was happy to hunt them down though since I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, tracking down my prey before taking it on and then watching it turn to dust while returning it to the spirit world for cleansing. I told Blanca what was happening and although she wasn't happy that my trip was going to take longer but she understood that I needed to help protect my friends and told me to be careful.
Presently I was in the forest region of the land locked in a battle with three bear spirits that were twice the size of regular bears with claws that could extend longer and cut through stone, red eyes, black fur and giant fangs. Toothless wasn't with me since when I found these bears they were attacking one of the tribes hunting groups with one man wounded while trying to protect his comrades so I had Toothless escort them back while I handled the bears. Now I was pinned to the ground by one of them with my prosthetic arm in its dragon claw form holding back the head of the beast while the other two circled us. The bear snapped at me with its fangs only inches from my face but I held it back and knew if I didn't get it off soon, I'd be dead but smiled when an idea came to mind. I made the barbs in my prosthetic arm sprout out and cut into the bears neck before I pulled my arm to the side ripping into the bears throat killing it and turning the body into black dust. With the bear off, me I jumped up onto my feet and looked around at the two remaining bears who were now either side of me glaring. I smirked at them and released my star sword as I said.
"Alright boys, let's finish this since I want to get back to the village in time for dinner."
They just roared as the one behind me got onto its hind paws and began walking towards me with its claws raised while extending them so they reached me. I charged at it as the bear slashed towards me I dived beneath the slash before reaching the bear and standing back up right in front of it. Before the bear could slash its claws at me again I lunged forward and plunged my sword into its stomach and gripped my hilt with two hands and yanked the blade up cutting open the bears stomach and slashing the blade out at the top. The bears body fell back while turning to dust as I turned to the final bear that was charging at me on all fours with speed that no ordinary bear would be able to achieve. I dived out of the way of the charging beast while switching my star sword out for my snake whip as I turned to the back of the bear and swung my whip at its back legs. The whip wrapped around the bears legs before I tightened my grip on the handle making the whip tighten around the legs pulling them together as I pulled my whip back. The bear fell to the ground as I let go of my whip and let out my spirit bow while taking out a fire arrow before loading it into my bow. I jumped onto the bears back running up the body while pulling the arrow back and stopped behind its head just as the bear began to get back up but I let the arrow fly right into the back of its head. The bear turned to dust beneath my feet as I smiled and said.
"And that takes care of that." I collapsed my bow pulling it back into my arm and walked back to my whips handle and picked it up, pulling the whip back into the handle letting out a sigh. "I wonder how many more spirits I'll need to take out before I can go home to my island and my wonderful wife." I smiled at the thought of Blanca until I noticed a thick fog coming in from all sides and sighed. "I get the feeling I'm about to find out." I let the fog completely surround me to the point where I couldn't see the surrounding forest before a voice said.
"Excellent work Soaring Eagle!"
"Thanks."
"I have to ask, was killing that last bear by running onto its back and shooting it with your bow a little much?" I shrugged.
"What can I say, when I finished off that last bear I felt like using a little flare." There were chuckles in the fog. "So, do you know how many more of those spirits are still out there for me to deal with before I can go home." The same voice from before answered.
"None, those were the last of the spirits that needed to be purified of the bear of shadows dark power." I smiled.
"Finally, it felt like this hunt for the spirits was endless but now I can go home to my island and enjoy some down time with no opponents trying to kill me." There were chuckles. "So, could you let me out of this fog so I can let the people know the spirits are no more?"
"Not yet Soaring Eagle as before you leave we have some things for you to show thanks but first please take out the bow and arrow quiver we gave you last time you were in our lands along with your spirit necklace and place them on the stone alter."
I was hesitant but I felt like I could trust them as the fog in front of me cleared to reveal an alter made of white stone for me to place my bow and quiver on. I released my bow and placed it on the alter as I had my spider pack pull out my arrow quiver and place it on the alter while I took off my spirit necklace and placed it there before the fog engulfed the alter. The same voice from before then said.
"They shall be returned to you after they have received a few additions." I nodded. "In the meantime, allow us to present our other gifts to you for your services to us." The fog cleared to reveal another alter with a large roll of silver leather before a female voice said.
"Soaring Eagle, we know you have been trying to create a saddle for the mare we gave you but her powers have made it difficult so we present you with this special leather that cannot be damaged by her powers allowing you to construct a saddle for her." I smiled as I walked up and picked up the roll of leather.
"I wish I had this leather weeks ago." I felt it in my hand and smiled at how smooth yet rough it felt. "It would've saved me a lot of time and a lot of leather." They chuckled as the first voice said.
"The alterations are complete."
The fog cleared to show me the stone alter once more but the items I left on it were different in design in some ways and there was also a wooden chest with native designs on it and a silver bear skull. The pendant of my spirit necklace for example was no longer that of a small eagle but the top of an eagle skull that was black in color. There was a small dreamcatcher like ring with a web like pattern made of string that had red beads on them surrounding the upper part of the skull and let the beak down past it. Along with that hanging from the bottom by the stings were five feathers with the one in the middle being a red feather and the two on either side were black and shorter than the one in the middle. With all of this there was something about it that made it feel like it was letting out a familiar power but it was different somehow as if it were a part of me. (AN: Can be found on pinterest page under Weapons from Hiccups Collections.) I was brought out of my thoughts when the spirit from before said.
"We see you can feel the power imbued within the pendant." I continued to stare at the pendant.
"It feels familiar but different somehow."
"The reason for this is your spirit guide." I looked into the fog.
"What do you mean?"
"When you and your spirit guide merged together as one you created an unbreakable bond which very few are able to achieve and it is through this bond you were able to defeat the bear of shadows." I nodded. "It is when you both defeated the bear of shadows by plunging into it that your spirit guide and your spirit absorbed a small sliver of the bear of shadows power that over time has bonded to both you and your spirit guide." I looked up at them in shock. "It is through the bond that the power was purified and became one with your spirit and your spirit guide preventing it from corrupting you as it did Silver bear." I nodded. "It is through the pendant that you shall be able to harness the power of not only what you absorbed but also the power of your bond." I raised an eyebrow. "The abilities you are able to use however are things you shall have to discover for yourself." I nodded as I slowly placed the necklace around my neck and felt the power flow through my body like a flowing river before I let out a sigh as it stopped. "The power has settled and we wish you luck in mastering it." I nodded as I picked up my quiver and saw there were new colors in the fletching's. "We've added a few new arrows to your arsenal that we're sure shall be of use to you in the future."
"None lethal to humans I hope." They chuckled.
"You'll have to see for yourself."
I nodded and had my quiver placed back into my spiderpack before picking up my bow which seemed as if it hadn't changed until I squeezed the handle and then I saw how it had been modified. Sharp curved blades facing out slid out of the ears of the bow yet my bow hadn't gained any weight whatsoever. I gave it a few experimental swings around to see how easy it could use it and was surprised at how easy it was to swing like a sword. A new voice then brought me out of my thoughts when it said.
"The bow is an effective weapon for long distance but it also leaves you open to close combat." I nodded. "Now you may use it to strike down opponents who get too close while you're fighting at ranged but the blades aren't the only alterations." I turned my bow in my hand and realized the bow string was now silver. "The bow string has been enchanted and now the distance that your arrows may reach when fired is near endless." I nodded as I smiled knowing how helpful this ability was going to be when it came to attacking at long distances. It was as I collapsed my bow back into my prosthetic the first voice said.
"As for the chest and skull, the chest contains something that you shall need in the future but it shall only open when the time is right while the skull is simply a trophy to remind you of this battle." I nodded. "And now it's back to the mortal world we return you to with these gifts to help you in the future." With that said the fog cleared to reveal Toothless looking around in confusion before he noticed me and let out a roar of joy before running up to me and nuzzling my chest as I chuckled.
"I'm happy to see you to bud and even happier to let you know that those bears were the last of the corrupted spirits meaning we're free to go home." He roared in joy and began bouncing around making me laugh before I signaled him to calm down. "Come on bud, we've got to get back to the village and let them know that the spirits are no more and we can go home." He rocked his body in joy as I picked up the leather, the chest and the bear skull before I mounted him. "Let's get going bud." With that said we took off back to the village.
Nightfall
I was sitting down in front of a large bon fire watching tribal members dance in praise to the spirits and me for what I'd done for the lands. As they danced I couldn't help but think back to how it came to this when I should've been at home cuddling Blanca while watching the sunset over the ocean. After Toothless and I got back to the village I let Iron Bear and Spirit Roamer that I'd taken out the last of the corrupted spirits and had spoken with the spirits who had rewarded me for my services. I could tell Spirit Roamer was impressed when I told him about the bond I now had with my spirit guide telling me how most shaman spend their lives trying to gain this bond but die before they can. After that Iron Bear ordered a celebration in my honor and demanded I stay for the celebration and I could leave tomorrow morning after a good night's rest. I couldn't say no to him since he wasn't just my friend but also the chief of the tribe so how could I turn him down since it could be seen as an insult to the tribe. As I sat there I couldn't help but look forward to tomorrow since as much as I enjoyed my time with the people of these lands I couldn't wait to get home, see my parents, spend time with my animals, play with my dragons and embrace my wife. I was brought out of my thoughts by Iron Bear stepping in front of the fire with his hands raised silencing everyone and bringing the dancing to a stop. When all had gone silent he announced.
"MY PEOPLE, FOR MANY A DAY WE WERE UNABLE TO REST PEACEFULLY, LIVING IN CONSTANT FEAR OF THE CORRUPTED SPIRITS ATTACKING OUR TRIBE MEMBERS WHEN WE WERE EITHER RESTING IN THE WALLS OF THE VILLAGE OR OUT GATHERING RESOURCES FOR THE GOOD OF THE TRIBE WITH NO WAY FOR US TO DEFEND OURSELVES!" There were murmurs of agreement at this before Iron Bear smiled. "NOW THAT TIME HAS PAST FOR TODAY THE LAST OF THOSE CORRUPTED SPIRITS WERE DEALT WITH BY OUR FRIEND AND FELLOW TRIBE MEMBER," He gestured to me. "SOARING EAGLE!" There were cheers hearing this as I blushed at the attention. "SOARING EAGLE PLEASE COME FORTH!" I took a breath and stood up before walking up next to him. "SOARING EAGLE, ONCE AGAIN WE FIND OURSELVES INDEBTED TO YOU FOR COMING TO THE AID OF NOT JUST OUR TRIBE BUT THE LAND ITSELF!" There were cheers at this. "FOR YOUR SERVICES TO OUR LAND I AM SAD TO SAY THAT ALL I CAN OFFER YOU IS MY THANKS AND MY BLESSING TO ALLOW YOU TO COME TO OUR LAND WHENEVER YOU WISH!" I smiled and said.
"That means more to me than any material item you could offer me." He smiled at me. "Now let's get back to the celebration." There were cheers at this before the celebration continued.
Morning
Breakfast that morning was a peaceful affair with the exception of some people asking me to stay longer wanting to know what my new gifts from the spirits could do. Iron Bear got them to back off however but convinced me to at least fire a regular arrow from my bow to see the distance it was going which brings us to now. I was standing on top of a cliff with my spirit bow out loaded with a single normal arrow and a large crowd behind me all wanting to see my new bows capabilities. I aimed out over the trees not really focusing on my arrow since my thoughts were focused on home and how much I missed it and those I cared about. My thoughts were on Gobber and how he missed him from his bad jokes to the smell of his forge, heck I even miss the smell of his out house. These were my thoughts as I let the arrow fly and watched as surprisingly it didn't even begin to dive down and actually let out a shockwave before it took off far beyond the summit. As I stared out into the summit I couldn't help but wonder where that arrow went and where it will land.
Back on Berk
Nobodies POV:
Everything was pretty peaceful on Berk with children playing, Stoick doing his chiefly duties, the Berk guard training, Valka tending to the dragons, Blanca walking through the market place with Verta who instead of wearing her regular armor chose a light green kimono with her hair tied up in a traditional Chinese style. They were walking through the village at Verta's suggestion to help take her mind off her worry for Hiccup who was still in another land. It was then Gobber walked by them with a smile as he stopped and turned to them and said.
"Mornin lases and what are you two up to this fine day." Blanca smiled at him as she replied.
"Good day Gobber, we're out for a walk in the market place." He smiled.
"Well that's good to hear, we don't see you both around here that often since you mostly stick to that island of Hiccups." Verta then said.
"I thought a little change of scenery would help take her mind off her husband being on a life risking adventure." Blanca frowned as she looked down.
"I can't help it if I worry about him." Verta put a comforting hand on her shoulder but they were both surprised when Gobber chuckled.
"Lass you're worrying for nothing since if there's one thing I know about that lad it's that nothing can kill him no matter how hard they try." She smiled at him. "Now if you will excuse me nature isa callin."
They nodded as Gobber made his way to his outhouse closing the door as he entered it but a second later a small sonic wave burst over the ocean as a familiar arrow flew over it letting out a whistling sound as it flew. The arrow flew over the village making everyone look up trying to find what was causing the whistling sound but all they saw was a blur. The arrow finally came within range of its target and began lowering its front as it flew into a dive and flew right through the moon shape of Gobber out house door. A second later there was the sound of metal being hit within along with a cry of shock as everyone ran to see what the thing causing the whistling was. As soon as a small crowd formed with Stoick, Valka, Blanca and Verta at the front the outhouse door burst open with Gobber standing there holding his helmet that now had an arrow going right through it as he cried out.
"IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE?" Nobody was focused on the arrow though as when Gobber ran out he forgot to do one very important thing. "What are you lot starin at?" Verta replied.
"You forgot to do something before you came out." He raised an eyebrow. "Look down." Gobber did as she said and realized that he was currently standing in front of a large crowd of people in his underwear making him smile sheepishly.
"Excuse me a moment." He stepped back into the outhouse closing the door as Snotlout said.
"Well that's going to be hard to unsee." There were murmurs of agreement before Stoick turned to everyone.
"Alright, show over so everyone get back to your business." With that said the crowd dispersed as Verta turned to Blanca and said.
"Sister!" Blanca turned to her. "Why do I have the feeling that what just happened has something to do with that husband of yours?" Blanca just giggled and shook her head.
"I don't know but I have the exact same feeling." Verta rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"When he gets back we need to talk to him about it." Blanca just nodded as they continued on their walk through the village.
Back with Hiccups
1 hour later
Hiccups POV:
I was standing in front of my portal door with Toothless at my side as I smiled at Iron Bear and Spirit Roamer who had come to see me off. I smiled as Iron Bear placed a hand on my shoulder and said.
"It was good seeing you again Soaring Eagle but next time you come I hope it's just for some down time instead of the need to save us from some sort of evil." I smiled and nodded.
"I could not agree with you more." I shrugged. "Who knows, I might bring Blanca next time." He smiled.
"You should bring her since everyone in the village is eager to meet the woman who captured your heart when so many have failed." I rolled my eyes.
"And a few are curious to know where that arrow I fired disappeared to."
"I have to confess, I am one of those people but we may never know." He then pulled me into a hug. "Till next we meet my friend." I hugged him back.
"Till next we meet." He let me go as Spirit Roamer said.
"May the spirits watch over you Soaring Eagle and I wish you luck in mastering this new power they have given you." I nodded.
"Thank you, my friends."
With that said Toothless and I made our way through the portal door into the in between room where all the various portals to the different places rest. I stopped in the middle of the room and looked around at the various portals to the different places I'd been to over the years. As I looked around at these portals I couldn't help but think about what all those different places were like, the people I'd met and of course the things I'd accomplished in those places. I smiled at the memories knowing that when I was a boy I just wanted to make my father proud, I never would've guessed that I'd come so far in life. I shook my head knowing there was a time for going down memory lane later and get home since I'm sure everyone is probably wondering when I'll be back and if I'm alright. I turned to Toothless who tilted his head and crooned but I just patted his nose and said.
"Don't worry bud, just thinking about how far we've come in the past few years." He crooned. "Yeah, we really have come far from that awkward boy and a dragon with a damaged tailfin." He growled and nodded. "Now we're heroes of multiple lands, defeaters of monsters and demons, owners of our own island that's growing, have an army of dragons under our control, have multiple animals under our command including the son of Fenrir, have our own private army of mystic beings and so much more." I smiled and rubbed his head. "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you bud." He just crooned. "Now let's get back to our home where there's a large basket of trout waiting for you and a snake guardians warm embrace waiting for me." He just growled and rolled his eyes before we made our way through the portal door that lead to the house and smiled when we made it through. "Home sweet home." I turned to Toothless. "You go and greet the dragons bud, I'm going to greet my wife."
He growled and nodded as we made our way out of the room and using some of the Scouters I kept on the island I found Blanca was in the garden sitting under the cherry blossom tree. I smiled as I made my way out to the garden but doing silently since I didn't want Blanca to hear me and wanted to surprise her. As I entered the garden I smiled at the sight of my garden before the sound of Blanca's singing echoed through the garden making me smile knowing the song she was singing all too well. It was the same song we sung together on the boat when we were on our way to Precious Jade Workshop. (AN: Chapter 140.) I slowly made my way towards the tree where Blanca was sitting and hid behind the tree without her even noticing just as she sang.
"no concerns as it gleams, this life floats by" I leaned in next to her ear as I sang.
"It's a dream." She slightly jumped and turned to face me before her look of shock turned to a smile.
"Hiccup!"She quickly grabbed onto me in a hug which I was happy to return before she pulled away. "When did you get back?"
"Just now." I gently caressed her face. "First thing I did though was use my Scouters to find you." She smiled gently at me. "I've wanted to embrace you for so long." I lowered my hand to her waist as she caressed my face. "I love you Blanca."
"I love you to my mighty hero." We leaned into each other until our lips met in a kiss that I didn't want to end and when we pulled away I missed the feeling of her lips as I sighed in annoyance.
"As much as I wish this could last forever I still need to let everyone on the island know I'm back and then head to Berk." I let her go and turned around to leave but before I could Blanca turned into her half snake form and swiped her tail beneath my legs making me fall back into her arms.
"That can wait!" She then turned back into her human form while kneeling down and lowering my body with her till I was lying down with my head in her lap. "As your wife I think I'm entitled to have you to myself for at least an hour." I smiled up at her.
"I believe you're right my sweet serpent." She giggled.
"Now I know you've told me what's happened on this adventure through our wedding rings but I'm curious to hear what happened on your last day."
"And who am I to deny my wife that knowledge." I then began telling her what happened with me meeting the spirits after taking down the last of the corrupted spirits.
Three hours later
It's been three hours since I got back to my island with the first hour and a half being back spent with my head in Blanca's lap and the other hour and a half letting everyone I'm back and then washing off all the slobber from my dragons and wolves since that stuff does not come out easily. Now I was making my way up the steps of Berks great hall with Toothless on my right and Blanca on my left holding my arm. I smiled as I pushed the door open to see everyone eating quietly as we walked in before my eyes landed on my parents who were enjoying lunch with Gobber and Spitelout with Gobber examining something in his hands. We walked up to them before I asked.
"Room for two more?" They turned to us before my dad cried out.
"Hiccup!" I smiled at him as he and my mom stood up while everyone turned their attention to us.
"Hey dad, I'm back from the land of the feather people." My dad pulled me into a bone cracking hug. "Easy there dad, you're cutting off my air." He put me down only for my mom to pull me into a hug. "Easy there mom, I'm pretty sure dad just bruised my ribs."
"Well excuse us for being happy to see my son after he gets back from one of his life risking adventures." Gobber then asked.
"So, what was the problem this time lad?" I turned to him. "Evil beast from the underworld, crazy monster, wild dragon or a magic user turned monster?" I raised an eyebrow. "You get into some pretty crazy situations lad." I sighed and shook my head knowing it was true.
"The last one." He raised an eyebrow. "Long story short, crazed native shaman thought he could turn the spirits into weapons but was banished for it and vowed revenge on the lands before tapping into some dark magic which he used to corrupt spirits and attack the tribes in order to lure me back to those lands so he could destroy my mind and soul leaving my body open for possession which he would then use to enact his revenge and then take over the world." Everyone stared at me but I just shrugged. "In other words, a standard adventure for me." Gobber just nodded.
"Lad you really live an interesting life." I nodded until I noticed a hole in his helmet.
"What happened to your helmet?" He sighed in annoyance.
"Some lunatic launched an arrow into it through the hole in the door of my outhouse earlier today." The crowd that had formed around us groaned at this making me look around before Gobber yelled. "LET IT GO YOU LOT!"
"What happened?" Blanca leaned in and whispered into my ear.
"He ran out of the outhouse but forgot to pull up his pants so we all got a view of his underwear." My eyes widened.
"I'm now glad I didn't come back earlier." Gobber then grumbled.
"Just wish I knew who shot that blasted arrow." He then picked up an arrow on the table and held it out to me. "This is the arrow lad." I took the arrow from him and my eyes widened since this was the same arrow I launched this morning and couldn't help but say.
"I was wondering where this arrow went." Gobber raised an eyebrow.
"What?" I looked up at him.
"I launched this arrow earlier this morning to test out my spirit bows improvements but I didn't think it would reach Berk since I was still with my friend Iron Bear in his land."
"But of all the places it had to land why would it land in my outhouse?" I rubbed my chin in thought.
"Well when I launched the arrow I was thinking about how much I missed home and how I even missed the smell of your outhouse." Gobber stared at me but before he could reply my dad said.
"We can go over that later since for now I believe everyone would like for you to put that golden spider of yours to work and show us what happened on this little adventure of yours." There were cries of agreement as I sat down and released my golden spider.
"Alright just give me a few seconds to get comfortable." There were nods and murmurs of agreement making me smile as Blanca sat at my side before I began the illusion.
Nightfall
I was lying in bed naked and sweaty with Blanca lying on top of me in the same state with my real arm around her and my prosthetic behind my head as I smiled. As I lay there I thought back to my day which after I showed everyone what happened went as anyone could expect with me needing to answer multiple questions. When I finally got some peace, I had to deal with my parents' smothering me, letting them know how worried about me and how I could've died. When that was done I had to deal with the twins asking me to demonstrate my new arrows and what my pendant can do but until I figure out what they do I wasn't going to risk using them in a crowded hall. When we got home I enjoyed a peaceful afternoon with my wife and now I was smiling after our latest activity since Blanca hadn't shown that much effort since our honeymoon. I looked down at Blanca as I said.
"I should go on life risking adventures more often." She giggled before she pushed me down.
"Well you're not going to be going on another trip since for the next few weeks, you're all mine." I smiled.
"You won't get any complaints from me." She just nodded and snuggled into my chest and drifted off to sleep and soon enough I joined her.
AN: Hey everyone, I hope you've all enjoyed the chapter and I'm sorry for not showing you what the arrows and pendant do but I had to save something for the next chapter while also keeping you all on the edge of your seats. Till next time I hope you all stay safe during these troubled times and remember to review since I enjoy reading them.
