Chapter 167
Hiccups POV:
It's been two weeks since I got back from my battle with the fire giants and in that time things have been peaceful with no problems other than me nearly losing my hearing. The reason I nearly lost my hearing is because I was standing too close to my parents when I told them that I'd just taken on Surtr and his fire giants before they each yelled out a simultaneous 'WHAT'. As soon as my ears stopped ringing I was bombarded by multiple questions being yelled at me by everyone in the great hall, which did not help my hearing in the least. One plasma blast out the door later and everyone quieted down allowing me to actually hear my own thoughts again before I told everyone to get comfortable so I could show them what happened. After I said that everyone immediately sat down ready to see what happened on my latest trip as I took my regular seat with Blanca coming to take her usual place on the chair next to me on my left side. She took my hand and smiled at me as I smiled back while using my thumb to gently rub her hand before turning back to the crowd as I said.
"Well let's get this show on the road but please remember, no questions until the end."
Then I began the illusion showing everything that happened on my trip with nobody moving as I showed them everything I did to stop the fire giants from destroying all the realms. After that I had to go through a mess of questions about not only my fight but also the gifts I received from the gods, many wanting to know about my sleigh and Hubbard. I recognized these people who were the farmers who lived away from the village and had to fetch supplies like firewood and food when winter came. This was never an easy or pleasant thing to do and my sleigh would make things easier for them during these times but they knew they wouldn't bother trying to buy it. I did know that despite this when winter comes I'd be getting more than a few requests from both them and my father to help out using Hubbard and my sleigh.
There were also more than a few people who were a little concerned about Volcanus since he was an incredibly powerful dragon and some of them were worried if I could handle him along with all my other alpha class dragons. My father silenced them claiming he had faith in me and my capabilities to control him and my other dragons thus keeping all of Berk safe from them. I saw there were a few people who still didn't feel any easier about it until I reminded them that with such powerful dragons under my control, nobody would dare attack Berk which silenced most of them but there were still a few worried people. Then there were those who wanted to know more about my arctic wolf armor like its capabilities, powers, how it felt, what it did to me and other questions about it. I had to activate it and give everyone a good look at it with Gobber practically drooling at the chance of examining such a unique suit of armor. I had to give a demonstration of the abilities it had that I knew of to get some of them to calm down and knock it off with the questions they had for me.
After I was all done with the demonstrations and answering the questions my parents dragged me away with Blanca following behind us. When we were alone my parents proceeded to give me a five-hour lecture on how incredibly dangerous the enemies I went up against were and how I shouldn't have been so careless in my battle against them. When they were done I was able to leave Berk with Blanca at my side giggling and telling me about how I may have been a big hero that has faced many beasts but the beasts I could never defeat were my concerned parents. I just rolled my eyes and told her not to tell Verta knowing my sister-in-law would never let me hear the end of it if she could find another thing to tease me about.
Since then things have been pretty calm with a few dragons who enjoyed extreme heat moving into Volcanus's nest since Volcana's volcano was getting a bit crowded. Volcanus didn't seem to mind the new inhabitants though so there was no trouble being caused there while my Winters wings and him came to an agreement of staying away from each others nests and avoiding fights. Speaking of my Winters wings, he'd finally gotten around to making a nest of his own that was going to be permanent and made from his old nest that just went through some expansions.
With no trouble going on and my dragons taking care of things themselves I was able to take some time for myself to go on flights with Toothless, study the dragons in the nest, enjoy strolls through my islands different environments, draw up some new automaton designs, play with Mfalme who's gone through some growth spurts, train with my snake guardians when I saw some were getting lax in their training and of course take Blanca on some dates. These dates involved walks on the beach, swimming together, taking romantic flights together, going on under sea trips in my submersible ship and other things that we enjoyed together.
Now I was just enjoying a peaceful day at the pool doing laps while Blanca lay on one of the clines in a bathing suit that consisted of a white wrap around her waist covering the white short pants that reached just below her thighs and white wrapping around her chest. Verta who was sun bathing on the cline on Blanca's right wore the same kind of outfit except hers was in light green and I was in my shorts doing laps in the pool. Lying next to Blanca on her left side was Zhang Yong continuing his self proclaimed duty as her bodyguard and as usual Blanca saw him more as a pet and would occasionally lower her head to pet him.
I was on my fourth lap in the pool when one of my serving automatons walked in holding a tray that had three goblets on it making me smile before continuing my laps, not wanting to break my rhythm. The serving automaton walked between Blanca and Verta before placing the tray on the table and walking away while the girls both sat up to take the drinks. Verta took one and began drinking while Blanca picked up one in both hands and made her way up to the side of the pool before kneeling down and saying.
"Hiccup, could you take a break from your laps to enjoy a drink." I smiled at her before I swam up to the side of the pool and lifted myself up sitting on the edge as I took the offered drink.
"Thanks Blanca." I took a big sip of my drink before pulling the goblet away letting out a sigh of pleasure. "That hit the spot." I looked at Blanca and smiled. "You're good to me Blanca." She blushed and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I'm just trying to be a good wife."
"Well you do a wonderful job every moment we're together." She giggled but sadly our moment was brought to an end when Verta yelled out.
"YOU TWO AREN'T ALONE YOU KNOW?" Blanca looked away while I glared at Verta who simply gave me a smirk but before I could reply, a bald snake guardian slithered in and bowed as he said.
"Please forgive the intrusion master but your father has arrived on the island and wishes to speak with you." I sighed and got out of the pool fully before standing up.
"Inform my father I'll be with him momentarily since I need to dry off and get dressed." He placed his fist into the palm of his hand and bowed to me.
"As you command master." He slithered out as I walked over to my cline and picked up my towel before Verta asked.
"So what does your father want this time?" I shrugged as I dried off.
"I don't know but I'll know soon enough." When I finished drying off I put on my grootslang coat to cover my body knowing it wouldn't be wise to put on my armor and keep my father waiting before I turned to the girls. "I'll be back as soon as I'm done finding out what my father wants." They both nodded while Verta went back to sunbathing and Blanca walked up and caressed my face as she said.
"Come back and let us know if it's anything serious." I nodded.
"Of course Blanca." With that said I made my way out of the pools room and towards the entrance hall where my father was waiting. "Hey dad, and what do I owe the pleasure of your visit today?"
"I just received a message from your Uncle Horace and Aunt Felicia." I remember my aunt and uncle as two of the few people on my fathers' side of the family who were always nice to me. "Their daughter Angelina is getting married and we've been invited to the wedding." I thought back to my cousin Angelina and how when I was younger she actually played with me unlike my other cousins who bullied me and smiled.
"That's nice." He nodded. "So when and where is the wedding?"
"It's in two weeks time and on Freya's island." I nodded.
"So when do we leave because I'm going to need some time to let Blanca know, time to pack, get things in order for the time I'm away and other such things."
"You've got two days before we set off." I nodded.
"And how are we getting there, ship or dragon?"
"We'll get there by ship since the last thing we want is to cause any panic but we'll keep the dragons with us below deck incase."
"If that's the case then we better take my ship since it's faster than a normal ship and has more room for our dragons below deck."
"How long should it take us to get to the island using your ship?" I shrugged.
"I'd say about half a day if the weather is good." He smiled and nodded.
"Good, we'll leave tomorrow morning at sun up."
"Got it dad." With that said he left through the front door while I turned back to the door leading to the pool and made my way through so I could talk to Blanca about the wedding and our coming trip.
Nightfall
I lay in bed staring up at the ceiling with Blanca on my chest sleeping peacefully as I gently stroked her hair and Zhang Yong sleeping at the foot of the bed. While they both slept I was thinking about my uncle Horace and his family who I hadn't seen in years. I remember when I he was young my uncle used to be a big time sailor and explorer, travelling to many islands but kept to the archipelago until he met my aunt Felicia. From what he told me, he was on a trip to check out the island that belonged to a small tribe that wasn't well known due to them mostly sticking to themselves. This tribe was known as the Shark Cove tribe and as the name implies the waters around the island they inhabited were shark infested so the tribe mostly deal in sharkskin's. My uncle went there hoping to buy some which is when he met my aunt and according to him it was love at first sight for them which resulted in him visiting that island as often as he could just to see her.
Then they married and he moved onto the island permanently where they had my cousin Angelina. When I was younger I used to always look forward to their visits since my Uncle Horace used to sit me down on his lap and tell me about his travels is one of my fondest childhood memories. I let out a sigh knowing it had been a long time since we'd seen each other but I was looking forward to seeing them both again but I couldn't shake the feeling that there was going to be trouble. I wrote it off as me simply being paranoid and closed my eyes drifting off into the sweet realm of slumber so I could prepare for the coming days.
Afternoon the next day
I was standing on the top deck of my ship in my sailing armor with my usual attire of my grootslang coat in jacket form, arctic wolf armor belt buckle on my belt, my third arm sash, spider pack beneath my coat, ox flame boots and my leather chest plate. My mother was down below with the dragons while my father was at the head of the ship looking out at the ocean and I was with Blanca trying to help calm the raging headache that was forming and Zhang Yong stood protectively in front of us. The reason this headache was forming is because when my dad informed me about the wedding and I offered up the use of my ship, he failed to mention that the twins, fishleggs, Snotlout and Astrid would be joining us, representing their families. As usual with them came a headache due to Snotlouts attempts to flirt with Astrid resulting in him getting hurt but not stopping his attempts. Then there are the twins who as usual were fighting about something and rolling around the deck in their squabble while Fishleggs was doing his best to break them up but to no avail.
It was then the Freya's island came into view making me smile knowing that soon I'd have nothing more to worry about when it comes to headaches. Five minutes later we docked on a beach next to ten other ships and smiled as I lowered the gangplank allowing everyone to disembark including the dragons. Before my dad could say anything though a cry from behind us got our attention making us all turn our attention towards the owner of the voice. The owner was a man the same size as him with a straight brown beard, his long hair tied into a tight braid behind his head, wearing a brown shirt with a shark skin vest and wrist bands, a shark tooth necklace and a helmet with shark teeth circling the bottom walking towards us. I smiled at the sight of this man recognizing him as my Uncle Horace coming to greet and welcome us to the island. He walked up to my father and held out a hand as he said.
"Stoick you old son of a yak, is that you?" My father chuckled and took his offered hand.
"Horace you old shark, good to see you." They gave a firm handshake before turning to my mother and my uncles eyes widened.
"Valka?" My mom smiled and nodded.
"It's been a long time Horace."
"But I was told you were carried off by a dragon years ago." It was then Cloudjumper walked up making him jump back in shock while my mom rubbed Cloudjumpers head.
"Cloudjumper never meant to hurt me, he just took me to a dragon nest where I spent years rescuing dragons but that's another story." He nodded.
"Oh, yeah now that you mention it I do remember hearing something from a traveller about people on Berk riding dragons now but I never believed it." She just smiled as the other dragons walked up making him step back in fear before I said.
"Don't worry, they won't hurt you unless you attack either them or us." He turned to me before his eyes widened.
"Hiccup, is that you lad?" I smiled and nodded and he let out a chuckle.
"It's nice to see you to uncle Horace." He let out a laugh.
"Look at you." He gestured to me. "You look like a warrior." I chuckled.
"Thanks uncle Horace." Toothless then walked up to me and crooned. "This is my nightfury Toothless." His eyes widened.
"Did you say nightfury?" I nodded.
"Long story uncle but I can say that he's my best friend and has helped me out of some tight spots." He nodded.
"Alright lad, I trust you." He then noticed my eye patch.
"What happened to your eye?"
"A demon lord in Japan blew up in my face." He raised an eyebrow before he burst out laughing.
"Good one lad, you really had me going there for a minute." I wanted to correct him but I knew he wouldn't believe me.
"Either way I can promise you that I do a lot of travelling in my life." He let out a loud laugh.
"So you're following in your old uncles foot steps and seeing the world."
"I guess so but unlike you I don't normally get to sit back and relax when I first arrive in a place."
"Oh really now?" I nodded. "And what is it you do when you first dock?"
"My dear uncle, let's just say I often get pulled into things that are never easy to handle and save clearing it all up for another day." He nodded.
"If you say so lad but I doubt what you faced was that bad." Blanca giggled and it was then he noticed her. "And who might you be lass?" Blanca smiled.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." She bowed. "I am Hiccups wife, Blanca." He gasped and turned back to me.
"Is it true lad, is she really your wife." I nodded.
"It's true uncle Horace." I wrapped an arm around Blanca. "This beautiful white lotus is my beloved wife." He then looked hurt.
"And you didn't invite me or Felicia to your wedding?" Before I could reply my father said.
"Don't worry Horace, me and Val weren't invited to his wedding either and we're his parents." Blanca then said.
"Please don't take it personally Horace, in my culture it is custom for the wedding ceremony for it only to be the bride and groom to be present for the ceremony and we were in my home land of China at the time so it would not have been easy to get you and your family for the wedding." He looked at her strangely but nodded.
"Well you'll have to tell me about some time but for now all I can say is welcome to the family lass." He stepped forward but Zhang Yong jumped in front of her growling before he let out a roar making my uncle jump back in fright. "What is that thing?" Blanca kneeled down and rubbed his head as I answered.
"Sorry about that uncle Horace, this is my zheng, Zhang Yong and he's pretty much made it his duty to be Blanca's bodyguard." He raised an eyebrow.
"Where in the world did you get that thing?"
"China!"
"We clearly have a lot to discuss but perhaps it best wait till Felicia and Angelina are present." I nodded before my mom said.
"Speaking of those two, where are they?"
"They're both helping prepare for the rehearsal dinner tonight." We nodded. "In the mean time I'll take you all to where you'll be staying for your time here." We were lead away to a clearing full of tents and lead up to one large tent. "We set up this tent for you to stay but we didn't know about Blanca so it might be a little tight fit." I smiled at him.
"Don't worry about it Uncle Horace, I've got my own tent on my ship where me and Blanca can sleep." He looked unsure for a moment but nodded before gesturing to an empty section next to my parents' tent.
"You can set your tent up in this spot here lad." I nodded.
"Thanks uncle Horace." He nodded.
"Well I'll let you all get settled while I go and help with preparations for tonight's dinner." We all nodded as he walked away before I made my way back to the ship to get my tent.
Ten days later
I was sitting down at a large table in my formal armor with my usual mystic attire with my grootslang coat forming its usual trench coat form. Blanca is on my left, my father on my right,Zhang Yong at my feet while higher up were my Aunt and Uncle with the two betrothed and Toothless stayed behind in my tent since we didn't want to make a scene. We were all enjoying the rehearsal dinner of boar, bread, pie, mutton, yak butter parfait and other things for the rehearsal dinner while we all talked with each other. As I enjoyed my meal I thought back on the last ten days and all that's happened during that time is I've been able to meet up with some of my distant relatives who weren't able to make it to the last family reunion. (AN: Chapter 56) More than a few of them asked me about Toothless, Zhang Yong and most definitely Blanca who they kept asking questions. Not surprisingly the people of the people of the Shark Cove tribe had heard of me riding dragons but nothing about my adventures so other than asking about my wife, Toothless and Zhang Yong nobody really bothered me and for that I am grateful.
I'd met up with my aunt Felicia who now wore a simple orange tunic with a skirt made of grey sharkskin while her red hair was tied back in a ponytail. She wasn't as well muscled as the women of Berk but she did have some muscle from carving up the sharks that were brought back to the island by the shark hunters. With her was my cousin Angelina who looked lovely in her ocean blue dress with a crown of white flowers in her red hair that was tied down in a braid that reached between her shoulder blades.
They were both happy to see me again and let me know they were surprised to find out I'd not only trained a dragon but also gotten married. They began talking to Blanca before the bridesmaids joined in and soon enough it was a full out girl talk while I just walked away leaving them to their talk. It was after that I ran into Brant, the man Angelina was going to be marrying and I had to say he seemed like an alright guy. He was well muscled but not overly muscled like the Jorgensons, but still well muscled, he wore a grey tunic with a sharkskin vest that was a slightly darker shade of grey than his tunic and a shark tooth necklace with brown pants while he kept his brown hair tied back in a ponytail. We began talking and found out he was one of the shark hunters of the village and worked hard to do his job so he could help the people of his village.
I respected that but it was also from him I learnt how him and Angelina first met and I was not the least bit happy about how they met. Apparently before they met Angelina was in a relationship with some guy named Boar Toe who started out all right when they first started dating but became rather possessive of her. I was told he didn't like it when Angelina spoke to other people, boy or girl, friend or family and rarely ever let her leave his side. Along with this he'd become pretty lazy after he was rewarded for saving one of the shark hunters after he fell over board and was considered a hero. He spent most of his time after that walking around the village with arrogance that would make the Jorgensons look humble with Angelina forced to stay at his side like an accessory. To add to this he'd also become a slob and was often seen with bits of food stuck to his face after a meal and was said to have the table manners of a wild boar.
Then came the day Angelina had enough and tried to break things off with him which as expected did not go down well with him. He started yelling as he grabbed her telling her that she belonged to him and nothing was going to change that before she yelled at him to let her go. When he raised his hand to strike her Brant, who'd been drawn to all the yelling, ran up and grabbed his wrist stopping him before telling him to leave her alone and when he refused and that it was none of his business Brant delivered a hard punch to his face knocking him out cold. He then asked Angelina if she was alright and escorted her home where she asked if he'd help her out with Boar Toe since he wasn't the kind of person to give up so easily. After that Brant begun escorting her around the village as friends and from that friendship love formed despite Boar Toe's constant attempts to get Angelina back. His attempts lasted until one day he went too far and tried to rape her but Brant stopped him and got Boar Toe banished for his crimes but he swore he'd be back to claim what was his.
Along with his information he explained that preparations for the wedding had been an absolute nightmare with so many problems. The wedding dress went missing so a new one had to be bought, wild boars got into the food so they needed to send out for more, a fire broke out in the original place where the wedding was to take place and those were just the ones he could name off the top of his head. I didn't want to know what else they've had to deal with but it did make me wonder what's going on with the wedding preparation since by the sounds of things somebodies trying to sabotage the wedding. I knew it might just be me being paranoid and just be some bad luck but just to be on the safe side I was keeping my weapons on me in my prosthetic. It was then I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of metal gently hitting metal and turned to see uncle Horace holding a goblet up high as he said.
"A TOAST TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM!" We all raised our goblets. "MAY THEIR MARRIAGE BE A LONG AND HAPPY ONE!"
There were cries of agreement before we all drank from our goblets and lowered them but the mead tasted a little off to me but I figured it was because I'd been drinking the mead of Valhalla. I shrugged it off and returned to the meal with everyone else but my mind kept wondering why the mead tasted off since for some reason it gave me an off feeling. Ten minutes later my feeling was proven right when everyone except Blanca and I began to shake and groan with some rubbing their eyes. Before I could ask what was happening Brant stood up or tried to but his legs looked to be shaking before he fell to the ground and soon all those who stood up suffered the same way. I kneeled down to try and help my father up as Blanca asked.
"What's going on?"
"I'm not sure but it doesn't look good." I turned to my father. "Dad what's wrong?" My father looked at me.
"I don't know, all of a sudden I feel so weak and dizzy."
I sat him down on his chair. "I feel as if I can't even support my own weight."
It was then a chuckle from the end of the table along with the sound of footsteps caught my attention and when I looked towards it I saw a large group of men walking out of the forest. The man at the lead wore a brown tunic that was covered in old mead and food stains making me assume him to be rather sloppy and this assumption was strengthened by the food in his black stubble. He also had a necklace with two boar tusks in the middle of his chest and wearing brown pants that like his tunic was covered in stains. His black hair was messy and un-kept and messy with it sticking out in different places so all in all he looked like a filthy slob but the thing that made me sick was the look of hunger in his eyes. It was the same kind of look some women in the foreign lands gave me or some of the men gave Blanca that made me want to kill them. It was then Uncle Horace coughed as he used the table to steady himself and stand up while glaring at the man before he said.
"Boar Toe!" The leader of the group who I now knew to be my cousins ex boyfriend Boar toe smirked.
"Nice to see you again Horace." Brant while doing the same as my uncle in to support his body asked.
"What are you doing here?" Boar Toe chuckled.
"I told you I'd be back to get what's mine and I'm not leaving without it."
"Angelina was never yours." Boar Toe growled.
"Yes she was and still is which is something I intend to make clear to her when we're back on my ship and out of the archipelago." I saw Angelina try to crawl back as Brant moved in front of her.
"You're not touching my bride."
"And you're going to stop me?" He chuckled. "Please, that poison I put in the mead barrel may not be lethal but it does make you weak and dizzy." One of his men then said.
"In other words you can't do anything to stop us from taking your bride and maybe some other girls here since we could always use some company on our trips." Boar Toe turned to him.
"Not a bad idea man but remember, no deaths since the last thing we need is any bloodshed and Angelina is mine." They all nodded as the men walked forward.
"Fine with me." He walked up to Astrid who was on Blanca's other side and grabbed her as she struggled. "I prefer this blond beauty right here." He licked his lips but stopped when I stood up walked behind Blanca and grabbed his right wrist with my prosthetic hand.
"Let Astrid go or you're going to find yourself in a world of pain." He turned to me as I slowly counted.
"Who do you think you are runt?" I stared at him emotionlessly as I answered.
"A guy who is not too happy with you for crashing his cousins rehearsal dinner and messing with his friend."
I then delivered a powerful strike into his gut while using my dragon style kung fu to channel power into the strike resulting in the man flying back fifteen feet before he hit a tree. For a moment there was silence before another man charged at me from my side with an axe at the ready above his head. I just calmly turned to him as he brought his axe down before I grabbed the arm holding the axe stopping his blow mid swing and twisted his wrist down making him drop the axe while turning around. I pushed him away making him stumble until he steadied himself before turning to me only to receive a fist to his face sending him flying back and when he hit the ground he was out cold. I turned back to Boar Toe and his men as Boar Toe asked.
"What are you?" I raised an eyebrow. "The poison in the mead should have made it impossible for you to even stand alone." I shrugged.
"I'm just a guy who's got an immunity to most poisons and been up against a lot worse then some slob and his men." He growled before holding up his hand before five men walked up each holding crossbows.
"Well poison might not work but I'm sure these will take care of you."
He lowered his arm and the men fired their crossbows at me but I just turned around and pulled up my coats collar before I felt the familiar tingle of arrows striking my grootslang coat. I stood up as the arrows sunk into my coat and turned to face Boar Toe and his men who were now staring at me with wide eyes and mouths gaping but they weren't the only ones as everyone who hadn't heard of my adventures was the same. I just chuckled at their expressions as I swept my coat and said.
"Enchanted grootslang hide is incredibly strong gentlemen and also has other benefits." I raised my left arm over my right shoulder. "Such as this." I swung my left hand forward launching the arrows at them making the men scream in surprise as they dived out of the way making me smile. "Now then are you going to give up now or would you prefer to surrender after your butt kicking." Boar Toe growled and pulled out his sword that had been sheathed at his side as the men took out their own weapons.
"Do you honestly think you can beat all of us without any weapons?" I chuckled.
"My dear fellow" I willed my grootslang coats sleeves to pull up revealing my golden prosthetic while having the back come up turning it into its vest form. "I'm never without a weapon." His eyes widened as did the eyes of everyone who hadn't seen it as I cracked my knuckle. "I am a weapon!"
"What you think you are doesn't change the fact that you're about to get your butt kicked by us." I sighed and shook my head while looking down as I muttered.
"Why do they always want to do things the hard way?" I turned to Blanca. "Blanca can you tend to the guests while I take care of these crooks." She smiled and nodded.
"I will be happy to help but please be careful." I nodded.
"Don't worry Blanca, I've got this." I then turned to Zhang Yong. "Guard her with your life." He growled and nodded before Boar Toe asked.
"Have you forgotten about us?" I turned around to face him before calmly picking up my goblet of mead and drank the whole thing down as he raised an eyebrow before I put it back down and chapped my lips four times.
"Alright boys." I smiled. "Let's dance!" With that said I charged at them.
Nobodies POV:
Hiccup charged at the men with his hands made into fists as Boar Toe pointed his sword at him and yelled out for his men to get him. The men charged at him with one holding a sword running ahead of the others before swinging his sword at Hiccup who dropped to the ground beneath the strike and sliding behind the man. He quickly swept his leg beneath the guy and stood back up before bringing his leg down in a downwards kick on the mans stomach while he was still in the air. Hiccups opponent was unconscious before he even hit the ground, allowing Hiccup to turn to his next opponent who was wielding a spear.
The man let out a battle cry as he lunged at Hiccup thrusting his spears head at him but Hiccup turned to the side and grabbed the spears pole. He pushed the spear pole back resulting in the spears pole end slamming into an axe-wielding enemy who was behind his current opponent. He then yanked the spear forward and with it came its wielder before Hiccup slammed his fist down on the poles middle snapping it. Hiccup lifted up the pole end in his hand and dashed past the man before striking him in the back of the neck with the pole knocking him out. Hiccup then delivered a powerful punch to the face of the former axe-wielding enemy who was still recovering from the blow to his stomach. Hiccup then turned to the remaining men and saw three men charging at him so he threw the pole at the legs of the man who was in the middle of the trio. The pole struck the legs making the man trip on it and in turn the other two who were right behind him fell down as well, hitting their heads and knocking them out.
Two men each wielding a spear ran at him and like the one before them let out battle cries and thrust their spears forward intending to impale him in an X formation. Hiccup stepped back dodging the spearheads before grabbing the pole of each spear and once again yanked the spears forward. This in turn yanked the men forward and brought them closer together and Hiccup before he slammed their heads together in a head-butt. They both fell backwards unconscious as another man wielding a mace charged at Hiccup but Hiccup jumped back when the mace was brought down and while the man was crouched down, Hiccup delivered a hard upwards kick to the face. The man flew back and hit the ground unconscious while Hiccup picked up the mace and snapping off the handle at the ball. He picked up the ball and threw it right at another guy and nailed him right in the gut making the guy drop to the ground, grasping his stomach. Hiccup turned to his next opponent and smiled seeing there were still a few more men left and charged at them.
While Hiccup took on Boar Toe's men the wedding guests all stared at the fight scene in utter shock and amazement except for Blanca who just smiled as her husband through one of the men over his shoulder and into one of the men charging at him from behind. As Hiccup slammed his fist into the gut of another victim Brant asked without turning away from the fight.
"Angelina, why didn't you tell me your cousins amazing?" She just stared at the fight as Hiccup hit a guy in the gut making him lean down allowing Hiccup to slam his elbow into the back of his head.
"I never knew!" As they watched Hiccup lift up a man above his head Horace asked Stoick.
"Stoick, I never knew how amazing your son is." Stoick watched as Hiccup threw the man at two charging men.
"Neither did I." Two men charged at Hiccup from both sides but he jumped up and delivered a split kick to both their faces. "I admit I knew my son was an amazing fighter but this is beyond what I thought he could do."
It was then Hiccup backflip avoiding the swing from a man holding an axe before landing on the guys shoulders while crossing his legs around the mans upper chest below his arms and pulling back. The man fell back as Hiccup flipped while keeping his legs crossed, thus maintaining his grip on his opponents body throwing the man into another charging man with a sword. When everyone saw this Brant asked Stoick.
"Do you think he'd be willing to teach me a few of his moves?"
Stoick didn't answer, as he was too engrossed in watching his son fight off another two men leaving four men standing without counting Boar Toe and three other men who had hidden behind some trees to watch the fight. The remaining four men went down as easily as the others before Hiccup let out a breath and walked back to Blanca who smiled and said.
"Youcould have used some of your weapons to deal with them and beat them faster." Hiccup just smiled at her.
"Now where's the fun in that?"
Before she could reply thought one of the remaining men ran at Hiccup from behind with his sword raised and ready to be brought down on Hiccup. Blanca quickly pushed Hiccup to the side and thrust her hand forward towards the man who was ten feet away and let out a burst of her magic sending him flying back. It was then the sound of battle cries from above and looked up to see Boar Toe and his two remaining men jumping down from a nearby tree with their weapons held high with Boar Toe holding his sword and the other two holding axes. Blanca flashed back to the time where her and Hiccup were attacked by Chang Pan on the boat and like last time she quickly turned to her half snake form before she used her tail to swat them to the side. (AN: Chapter 140!) Everyone at the table with the exception of the Berkians who already knew about Blanca's other form stared at Blanca in shock as she lowered her tail and wondering what in the world Hiccup Haddocks wife was. Hiccup smiled at his wife and said.
"You know, you're beautiful when you're using your tail to swat scum into trees." She just giggled and brushed her hair behind her ear before they realized they weren't alone and turned to face the people at the table who were still staring before Hiccup gave a nervous chuckle. "I know I have some explaining to do." Horace just asked.
"You think?" Hiccup sighed.
"It's a long story but for now just know that Blanca is the woman I love and won't hurt anyone but if any of you try to hurt her" Hiccup released his Anubis khopesh while channeling a red crystal, igniting it. "then the blood eagle will look like a slap on the wrist compared to what I'll do to you." Everyone gulped as Blanca placed a hand on Hiccups shoulder making him turn to her.
"Hiccup calm down, scaring your relatives and the other guests isn't helping." He let out a sigh.
"You're right Blanca but for now do you think you can take care of the people while I handle the scum." She nodded.
"I'll be happy to but I recommend a sweep of the island be done incase Boar Toe had men posted in other places incase something happened." Hiccup nodded.
"Good call Blanca." He turned around as he summoned his ninja making everyone jump back slightly at the sudden appearance of these strange men in odd clothes who were bowing to Hiccup. "Search the island for anymore of Boar Toes men and if you find any then restrain them before bringing them all back here." They all stood up and nodded. "Now go!" With that they took off to do as they were ordered while Hiccup turned to the unconscious men and sighed. "Time to get to work." With that said he began collecting the unconscious men.
Four days later
Hiccups POV:
It's been four days since the dinner rehearsal and in that time a lot has happened besides Boar Toe and his men being moved onto my ship before being taken to Outcast Island where they now sit in cells. Shortly after I got back from dropping them off for Alvin to deal with I had to come back and handle my relatives and all the wedding guests who had multiple questions for me. The first question they all wanted answers to however was what Blanca is and how we came to be together while also asking me where the heck I learnt to fight the way I did. After that I spent hours using my illusion spider to show them not just how Blanca and I met but also my major battles against my enemies and the rewards I was given for my services to the gods.
Sadly as expected my adventures brought forth a lot of admirers, mainly the children who were brought to the wedding who wanted me to take them on as apprentices. Some of the adults had begun asking me for lessons in combat since they were impressed with what I did to Boar Toe's men. The only one of them who I was actually willing to train was Brant and that was only because he told me he wanted to protect Angelina from danger. This was something I could understand since I felt the same way about Blanca even though I knew she was more than capable of protecting herself. I did offer to teach him a few moves but nothing serious and he did use the small amount of time we had together to ask if him and Angelina could honeymoon on my island. I was hesitant at first but then Angelina came in and asked me and when it looked like I was hesitating she brought on the tears and I agreed to it.
Then there's how the people looked at Blanca with a few of them looking at her in fear but I couldn't blame them since she could be pretty scary but the majority of them understood she wasn't a threat to them. I also assume part of the reason those who were afraid of her weren't voicing their opinion were only doing so out of fear of what I'd do to them. I didn't like it but the way I saw it if it kept Blanca safe then I was happy since the last thing I wanted was to see her hurt in any way. Besides all this all that's been happy is preparations for the wedding since
Presently it was nightfall and I was sitting at the wedding feast with Brant and Angelina officially husband and wife who were now sitting at the end of the table with their respective parents on either side. I smiled at the new married couple before I turned my attention back to my meal until I saw Blanca get up from her seat. She turned to me and said.
"I just need to go and take care of something." I nodded.
"Is it something I should be worried about?" She shook her head.
"Don't worry, if it's something bad I'll let you know." I nodded, trusting my wife.
"Just don't cause any trouble." She nodded and walked away into the forest.
Nobodies POV:
Astrid walked away from the feast needing to get away from all the noise, people and the loving couples who were expressing their love for each other in the romantic atmosphere. As she walked she thought back to the incident at the rehearsal dinner and how Hiccup defended her without hesitation. This wasn't the first time he'd protected me though as there were other times but the time that stuck out the most was when he defended me from Ulrik for the first time and pretended to be my boyfriend. (AN: Chapter 74) That was when I first began to fall for him but I was too scared to act on my feelings that only grew after watching each of his adventures. The reason is despite going through so much and accomplishing such incredible things he still remained the same humble young man she'd found herself falling for.
Then the bridal candidates came along (AN: Chapter 147) and she decided that she'd confess her feelings to him then and there or risk losing him to one of those gold diggers. Sadly before she could even find Hiccup to let him know how she felt he'd announced that on his latest adventure he'd met, fallen in love and married another woman. Astrid's broke at this but she knew it was her fault for not acting on her feelings sooner so now she had to live with her mistake. She decided to live with it and actually tried to get to know Hiccups wife Blanca and found her to be a really nice girl who she now considered a friend but the pain she felt in her heart whenever she saw them together remained. With all these loving couples it reminded her of what her fear may have cost her so she needed to just get away form it for a while. She walked into a clearing and looked down at the ground sadly until a voice from behind her asked.
"Are you alright Astrid?" Astrid immediately turned around to see Blanca standing there, looking at her in concern. "I saw you leave and came to see if you were alright."
"I'm fine Blanca."
"Astrid, I can tell you are upset about something." Astrid turned away as Blanca approached her. "Astrid, I want to help you but you must first let me help you." Astrid sighed and looked down sadly.
"It's just all these loving couples remind me of the fact that I'm alone and I lost my chance with the only guy I actually considered because I was too afraid to talk to him."
"You're talking about Hiccup aren't you?" Astrid immediately turned to see Blanca smiling knowingly at her. "It's not that hard to figure out Astrid with how you look at him and how when me and him are together I can see the pain and envy in your eyes." Astrid sighed and looked down.
"I know it's stupid of me to still have feelings for him when he's married to you so there's no way I could be with him." Blanca smiled and placed her left hand on Astrids shoulder before using her right hand to gently lift her chin so she was looking into her eyes.
"Astrid there's still a chance you can be with him despite me being his wife." Astrid raised an eyebrow. "Astrid, I'm a snake guardian and my people have customs that my husband respects and one of the customs is that the leader of our people be free to take on as many wives as he desires so Hiccup is able to take you as a wife." Astrid's eyes widened at this before she looked away.
"If Hiccup were open to that then he would've taken on some other girls already since they're practically breaking his door down for the opportunity." Blanca pulled her hand away from Astrid's face to cover her giggle.
"Those girls are all fan girls who only care for his reputation and money which is something Hiccup knows and hates." Astrid nodded. "Along with this I know he would only marry girls who he knows I'm alright with and knows he can make happy since his main priority when it comes to me and any other future wives is their happiness." She looked away smiling. "It's one of the many things I love about him."
"But I'm not even sure if he'd even consider looking at me as a candidate for a wife." Blanca once again covered her mouth to giggle. "What's so funny?"
"Hiccup's had feelings for you since he was a child and I know that even after all this time he still does since he was so quick to protect you." Astrid blushed as Blanca took her hand. "Please Astrid, just listen to me for a moment." Astrid nodded. "If you're willing to give sharing Hiccup a chance then I'll be more than happy to talk to him about giving a relationship with you a try." Astrid looked at her and sighed before smiling.
"Alright, I'm willing to try if you are." Blanca smiled at her.
"I'll talk to Hiccup about it when I get the chance but for now I believe it best we head back to the feast before someone notices we've been gone for so long." Astrid nodded before they made their way back to the feast with Astrid wondering if Blanca's plan would truly work and if it did would she be happy sharing Hiccup but knew that only time would tell.
AN: And that brings an end to another chapter that I am happy to say is longer than the last few chapters since for those I lacked a bit of inspiration for them. Anyway the next chapter is something I have an idea for and it is when Astrid and Hiccups relationship truly begins to blossom.
