Chapter 198
Hiccups POV:
It's been four weeks since I got back from Impossible island where I left Lumie so he could eat the dragon blooms fruit which would help him grow and enter adulthood. I still felt my heartache whenever I thought of poor little Lumie all alone on that island, but I knew it was necessary for him to go through this to help him grow. I'd been trying to get over my heartache of my missing dragon by throwing myself into my work, starting the day after I got back by delivering the artefacts to the Defenders of the wing. When I first arrived, I received a warm greeting from both the defenders and Dagur who was visiting his wife's tribe to see Mala and of course visit little Tera who had begun walking and babbling in baby talk.
Anyway, it turns out that the artefacts did in fact belong to the Defenders of the wing and they had been believed to be lost to time so as one can expect the people were shocked to see them. When they got over the shock Mala picked up a spear with a bladed head and a small bludgeon head at the bottom and asked me if I had any idea what I had just accomplished by bringing that single spear to them. She didn't give me a chance to answer before she told me that it was an ancient symbol of her people's connection to the eruptadon called the winged spear, which was thought lost to time. After that I was worried that I'd go deaf from the cheers of the people and have bruised ribs from the hug Throk gave me for correcting his families greatest mistake as it was his ancestor who lost the spear. When that was done a huge celebration was held in my honor, but I had to leave and grab Blanca and Astrid first as they wouldn't be happy if I left them out of it.
The days following this celebration I completely threw myself into my work of tending to the island, working on inventions, harvesting the minerals from my mine for projects, harvesting the ripe fruits and vegetables, building more automatons like the mining spider and serving automatons and occupying my time with other such things. Because of my creation of six new mining spiders, my mining operation on dragon island had doubled its original output so I was getting more gems for my vault. This was the reason for my three new serving automatons since in addition to cleaning up the house and other buildings they also helped me transport the gems from the load sharks who were making more trips than before leading to the creation of two more.
My automatons weren't the only thing I'd been building though as I had also been putting the materials, I got from my new mining section to good use in helping Berk. In the short few weeks, I'd given large chunks of the enchanted clay to Berks pottery workers who were overjoyed to finally have some after seeing how tough the stuff was when its hardened. The reason for their joy though is it meant less work for them as they didn't break so easily like the other things made from the normal clay and with us being Vikings, people came for replacements at least twice a week.
Along with this I'd also been helping the village construction workers building new guard posts around Berk made from a mixture enchanted sandstone and gronkle iron making it like the regular processed enchanted sandstone but strong as gronkle iron. I admit I enjoyed the work on Berk as it took my mind off Lumie and how worried I was about him being all alone on that island with no way for me to see how he's doing. I don't think my dad's complaining about me doing all these extra things though since it was greatly benefitting Berk and if the way he looked at me was any indication, he was proud of me for helping Berk.
Of course, there were other things that helped keep me occupied and my mind off things and these things were mainly the company of the girls I was lucky to call my wives. They helped me keep occupied in various ways such as helping me train, letting me use their laps as pillows while I vented about things, preparing me tea when I was going to meditate and also coming up with new projects for me to work on. These projects were mostly creating things to help out with their own things like Blanca helping me come up with new ideas for weapons to forge for the snake guardians with a few more earning their own snake wrapper automatons.
As for Astrid, she'd roped me into helping train the new riders in some more advanced flying techniques and to say that the first time they tried them out was bad would be an understatement. Snotlout in his arrogance felt that he and Hookfang could do it easily without me explaining the proper wing control and maneuvers while the twins were just being themselves. The end result was Snotlout getting twisted around and so confused he came crashing down into the village sending Snotlout flying off as they fell. Fortunately, he wasn't injured as he had a soft landing but unfortunately the reason for this soft landing was, he landed in a fertilizer pile on his stomach with his mouth wide open.
As for the twins, with them being who they were ended up tangling up their zipplebacks necks right before they tumbled down into one of the poles of the giant torches, knocking it over and destroying half a house. My dad wasn't happy about this nor was the owner of the house who yelled his head off at the twins for destroying his home while my dad had to use two ice blocks for his headache. After this incident I set up an obstacle course in the forest with multiple traps such as swinging clubs, paint filled bags to be launched and targets popping up. First time, none of the riders were able to get through it without coming out completely covered in paint, bruises and in some cases ash from the burnt trees. Training them all up to the point where they would be able to make it through the obstacle course with just half the bruises and paint stains they originally got when they first tried to get through it.
Sadly, these times of peace were bit to last as I got a terror mail from the wingmaidens requesting my aid on something important so I set off on Sapphire and my other razorwhips behind me while Blanca and Astrid rode their own dragons at my sides. When we got there, we were greeted warmly by the wingmaidens including Minden who blushed when she saw me while Blanca and Astrid just smiled at her. After that we did a walk and talk with me asking Atali what was such a big emergency that she'd call me here on such short notice which is when she began the tale of the disgraced wing maiden that was Minden's older sister, Iris. Apparently, she wanted to be leader of the wingmaidens so did some bad things to make Atali look bad so she could seize control of the Wingmaidens. It was working at first until she was discovered to be the one responsible for the problems and found to be selling razorwhip eggs to some crooks for a profit. This revealed the whole reason she wanted to be leader was because Atali had been arranging attacks on her clients and she wanted it to end so she put her plan to seize power into action. Anyway, after she was caught Atali immediately banished her for betraying not only her tribe but also betraying their sacred mission that was given to them by Athena. The last any of them saw of her was when she was shipped off the island and swearing revenge on her tribe for banishing her and ruining her plans.
Now she was back and was not going to be easy to deal with as she'd rounded up a small fleet of soldiers who used to be in the dragon hunters and were eager to get back into business. Their dragon hunting skills mixed with Irisknowledge of the island and their battle tactics things had not been easy for them which is why they'd called me in to help them. So far, she's attacked them seven times in the past two months and had lost twenty-eight eggs, fifteen hatchlings and injured fourteen of their people while destroying their buildings.
Presently it was nightfall and I was sitting down in the town center in a meditative pose with my razorwhips sitting around me with their tails ready to launch their spines at anyone who comes at me with a weapon while Astid and Blanca, patrolled the skies above me. While they did this the wing maidens stood at their usual guard posts ready to fight with any enemies and keeping an eye out for anything out of the usual. I wasn't meditating while I was sat down though, I was using the eye of the dragon to control my scouters that I had set up all around the forest so I could see what was happening while also controlling the bronze spiders I let loose on the walls of the hatchery as a precaution.
So far there was nothing out of the ordinary until I noticed some ships off the shore through the eyes of one of my scouters and immediately sent it out to get a closer look at it. On the ship I saw men wearing what I immediately recognized as dragon hunter helmets and the standard dragon hunter outfits like dragon skin vests. On their ship were crates with hay in them and a few small cages showing they were intending to steal some eggs and hatchlings as well while also showing they were the ones who were causing trouble for the wingmaidens. I opened my eyes and stood up gaining the attention of the other people around me as Atali walked up and asked.
"Hiccup Haddock, I take it you have seen something?" I nodded.
"There's a ship making its way towards the island North side and from what I could tell they came prepared to collect some eggs and hatchlings." She nodded.
"There are guards there so they should be able to buy us some time while we come up with a plan on how to fully deal with them." I turned to her.
"I'll fly onto the ship with my razorwhips and you can get word out to the guards by sending out some of them here in the village." I turned to Astrid and Blanca who'd just come to land. "You girls help Atali warn the other girls about what's going on." Astrid dismounted Stormfly and walked up to me.
"Are you sure that's a good idea Hiccup?" I raised an eyebrow as Blanca joined Astrid.
"Astrid is right Hiccup." I turned to her. "These warriors might be able to catch you by surprise and capture you." She then looked down. "Or worse." I smiled and gently tilted her chin up.
"Relax girls, I've got my razorwhips with me and all my god made weapons with me." Astrid replied.
"And they have a wingmaidens knowledge on how to deal with razorwhips and outnumber you."
"Don't worry girls, after all I've gone up against in my life, crooks like these are nothing more than fly's." They both just rolled their eyes before Blanca walked up and gently caressed my cheek.
"Just be careful Hiccup." I smiled and leaned into her touch.
"I promise both you and Astrid that I will always return to you girls." They both smiled and each gave me a kiss before I took off on Sapphire with my other razorwhips following.
10 minutes later
We were flying above the ship while staying out of the sight of the men below as I watched them sail towards the island and preparing bolas that I could tell was to deal with the wingmaiden guards. I counted around fifteen men on the top deck making me smile as this was going to be easier than I thought but I wanted to get this done quickly and without doing anything to make the girls angry with me when I get back. I had Sapphire hover before I reached into my coat that was in its jacket form and felt a single item be placed in each of my hands and pulled out a single bomb filled with knockout gas and smiled as I pulled the pins and dropped the bombs towards the ship. I smiled as the bombs landed on the deck getting the attention of the men just as the bombs went off, spraying their gas around covering the entire deck. Following that were a few screams of shock before the coughing came in and then the sound of bodies hitting the wood of the deck making me smile.
I knew there might still be a few men below deck so I signaled my dragons to watch my back before I jumped off Sapphire's back and spread my wings to glide down onto the deck. When I landed, I looked around the deck as the gas cleared and smiled at the sight of all the men lying around, unconscious thanks to my gas bombs. It was then the sound of someone calling out from below deck caught my attention and I quickly ran over to the trapdoor leading to the ships hold just as it opened with a man climbing out and asking.
"What in the world is going on up here." His eyes then landed on me as I kneeled so I could see him face to face. "And who are you?" I smiled at him seeing he wasn't the brightest man around as I answered.
"Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third." His eyes widened as the sound of more men below deck as I pulled out a gas bomb. "Do me a favor and take this down to your pals below deck."
I pulled the pin and shoved the bomb into his hands before bringing my fist down on his head sending him back down the ladder as I closed the trap door. I stood up and signaled my dragons down while I listened to the men coughing below deck followed by their bodies hitting the floor as they fell unconscious. It was then my dragons landed around the deck before I signaled them to begin gathering up the unconscious men on the ground and for Jade to be on standby by the trapdoor and be ready to collect the men using her tail to bring them up. With those signals received and my dragons getting ready I opened the trapdoor leading to the lower deck releasing the gas before I went down into the hold and got to work.
1 hour later
All the men were captured, their ship was docked and looted, and we were all standing in the town square with the hunters in the middle, on the ground and tied up. The Wingmaidens had been questioning them for the past half-hour and come up with nothing as they had been keeping their mouths shut making me wonder what it would take to get them to talk. It was then one of the men looked up at Minden who had been interrogating them and said.
"You can ask us till you're blue in the face, but we aren't going to talk." I walked up and placed a hand on Minden's shoulder making her turn to me and gave her a look signaling her to back of before I turned to the prisoner who was the leader of the group and kneeled down as I said.
"Listen man, I'm giving you a choice here, you can either deal the wing maidens or you can deal with me and I am not someone you want to deal with when I'm angry." He just spat in my face, but I used my ninja training to keep my face neutral as I wiped the spit off. "I see, so that's your answer." I then gave a smile that made even my wives back up. "It just means I get to have some fun." I raised my prosthetic and turned it into its dragon claw form while having my eyepatch unravel to show the eye of the dragon making all the prisoners try to back away, but their legs were bound as I cracked my knuckles. "Now where shall we begin?" Before I could even reach him though he screamed out.
"WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!" I raised an eyebrow. "It's the truth, we were just told to come to the island from the North side and deal with the guards there."
"And your base location where you store all the eggs and hatchlings you stole."
"I don't know where they are, we meet up with a ship on the water, hand the catch over to them and they then pay us before sailing off after giving us our next orders." I pulled my prosthetic back acting like I was about to strike him. "That's all I know I swear." I nodded and turned my prosthetic back into its regular form and concealing my eye again as I turned to Atali.
"I think something's up." I rubbed my chin. "Have any of the guards not checked in recently?" She looked thoughtful for a moment before answering.
"The ones posted at the hatchery haven't checked in yet." I immediately went to the bronze spiders I'd left there and found myself looking at the guards on the ground unconscious with bolas wrapped around them while men put the hatchlings in cages and the eggs in crates.
"It looks like the hatchery is under attack." Atali immediately turned to the wingmaidens getting ready to give an order but before she could I placed a hand on her shoulder. "Atali, calm down." She turned to face me. "I'll have my bronze spiders capture the men before they can do any more damage so calm down." She nodded.
"I trust you Hiccup." I smiled and began controlling my spiders to attack the men and within five minutes they were all paralyzed except for one who saw something was wrong and made a run for it not realizing I had one of my jewel wigs sneak onto him before he left so I'd be able to follow him. "What is going on?" I turned to her.
"All the eggs and hatchlings are safe while the men who were there are paralyzed except for one who's getting away." I then smiled. "He'll lead us straight to the base." Minden then said.
"And from there we shall attack their base and be able to rescue them while also capturing all of those who interfered with our sacred mission." I shook my head.
"No, I'll go in alone with a team consisting of only my five ninjas since the more people we take the more likely we'll be spotted and they could try to use the hatchlings and eggs as hostages." Astrid then said.
"So, your plan is for you and your ninja will handle those guys stealthily before calling us in to come and collect them."
"My ninja are trained warriors that have studied the art of stealth since early childhood and I have been studying under them for years and with the speed boost I get from my ox flame boots along with my god made weapons, they won't know what hit them." She still looked unsure before I continued. "Along with that the plan is for my team to break in, take out the guards before we find the room where the hatchlings and eggs are and we'll make a way out." I took a breath. "That's when I'll call you all and summon my ship which you will be and let you know to come and collect the eggs and so the real attack can begin." They all looked unsure. "Don't worry, I got this." I'm guessing they could tell I wasn't going to accept any plan in which they'd be at risk so they accepted and with that said I began looking through the eye of my jewelwig.
Nightfall
I was flying over an island on Sapphire with my other razorwhips following us as we looked down on the large base with the limestone walls, watchtowers and buildings. This was a place made to deal with razorwhip attacks as the walls would be able to stand up against any razorwhips bladed tail slash, spine launch or magnesium blast. In other words, this place was built to withstand an attack from any mother razorwhip that comes looking for its young or any wingmaiden who'd come to save them. I took a breath and had my grootslang coat turn into its tight ninja outfit before I jumped off Sapphires back and dived down towards the base at a high speed.
I kept my eyes on my target before I turned up so my head was facing the sky and spread my wings turning my speeding fall to a slow decent allowing me to silently glide towards the nearest watchtower. I landed on the roof of the tower quietly and used the eye of the dragon to look into the tower and saw there were two men armed with crossbows on the West and East sides and facing away from each other. I smiled and walked over to the North side of the tower and took hold of the edge before swinging down into the tower between the two guards quietly. I quickly grabbed them both by the back of their shirts catching them by surprise but before either of them could react I swung them both into each other dazing them and then taking their heads and slamming them together, knocking them both out cold. I silently lowered them down to the ground with their backs resting against each other and then hitting them with two of my bola discs tying them both together and ensuring they didn't go anywhere and then gagged them to make sure they couldn't call for help.
Once that was done I looked out at the base and saw five more watch towers against the walls with four more around the inside of the base. Along with this there were a few buildings around but none of them had windows so it was hard to tell what they were for until I saw the man with my jewelwig being dragged out of one by two men as he begged for his life. I was guessing that building was where I could find the leader but for now I needed to focus on finding where they were keeping the eggs and the hatchlings so I could get them out of here. I took a breath and switched my prosthetic into its plant form and opened the trap door leading to the stairs that would take me down and saw two men making their way up the steps. I pointed my prosthetic down and released two of my spores holding my knockout gas before letting them float down towards the men and smiled as they popped releasing the gas when they were right next to the men and knocked them right out. With them dealt with I made my way down the steps until I reached the bottom where I was able to summon my ninja before I reached into my spiderpack and pulled out multiple jewelwigs as I said.
"I need you each to place a single jewelwig in each of the buildings and return here without being seen by any of the guards and don't do any harm to them as it might alert the others that something's up." They each nodded and took two jewelwigs from my hand. "Report back here when you're done and then I can start seeing all we're going up against." They each gave another nod followed by a simultaneous bow and took off.
15 minutes later
It's been fifteen minutes since I sent out my ninja with my jewelwigs so I could get a better idea on what this base had, how many guards there were and other such things. There were over twenty men patrolling the grounds with more in the buildings that consisted of barracks with bunk beds, an armory full of dragon proof weapons including dragon root arrows, a store house full of supplies, a food store house loaded with food, a dungeon full of cells and a well-guarded house which I believe is the commanders' quarters. Now I'd just entered the building that I knew was the place where the hatchlings and eggs were being kept thanks to the jewelwigs my ninja had planted in the buildings in the base.
I'd already dealt with the three guards who were posted inside the buildings top level and was now making my way down the stairs while my ninja handled the men in the watchtowers outside. I looked down the stairs leading to the hatcheries lower floors where I knew I could find the hatchlings and the eggs and most likely a ton of guards to keep an eye on them. Because of this I took out my blow gun knowing it was better to deal with the guards silently with a single white dart to paralyze them to avoid alerting the others that somethings up so they could sound the alarm. I made my way down the steps loading up a white dart and making my way down the stairs leading to where the hatchlings and eggs were being kept.
5 minutes later
I was standing in front of a metal door that lead to the room where the eggs and hatchlings were being kept while on either side was a single guard but like the guards lining the walls of the hallway, they were paralyzed thanks to my darts. Presently my hands were pressed against the door with black fog from my shadow eagle necklace oozing through the metal and grabbing the three guards on the other side. I pulled my arms back, pulling the three guards through the door and then letting them go but before any of them could react I hit them each in the face with a blast of my knockout gas dealing with them. When they were dealt with I phased through the door and then used my shadow eagle pendant to pull them back into the room so if someone came by it wouldn't draw attention and alert them. I then looked around at the room I was now in and felt as if I was going to throw up because there were stacks of cages with most of them holding razorwhip hatchlings and around them were crates with razorwhip eggs.
I made my way up to the back wall knowing this base was in the middle of the island that was small so it was close the ocean and with this in mind I took out my spirit bow along with a digger arrow. I loaded the arrow and took aim at the wall before letting the arrow fly and watched as a large tunnel was formed and made my way down it to continue the process until I was able to break through to the ocean and smiled. I then let out a whistle to call my razorwhips who immediately flew down to meet me and land in the tunnel while I used my wedding ring and told the girls what's happened. When they were told what has happened I told them to be ready on the ship and began summoning it from its place off the coast of the island.
Once my ship was in sight and docked thirty feet away from the island to avoid being spotted I loaded up a rope arrow and took aim at the ships mast and let it fly. Once it hit the mast a rope was launched back from the other end hitting the side of the tunnel entrance making me smile just as the ship making me smile and gesturing my razorwhips into the tunnel so we could begin getting the hatchlings and eggs off the island. I lead them up the tunnel so we could get the little ones and then send them down to the ship using the zipline and hooks I'd attach to the cages and crates to send them to the ship safely.
Half an hour later
All the hatchlings and eggs were now safely resting on my ship under the care of both my wives and the wingmaidens which included Minden who felt partly responsible as it was her sister causing the trouble. While I had been doing this my ninja had been busy topside dealing with the men who were in the various buildings, taking them down quietly to avoid suspicion while the enemy numbers decreased which would make my job easier. The only building that wasn't touched was the commander's quarters since that was one building I wanted to deal with myself as it was where I figured I could find Iris. Now I was standing on top of the building that was the hatchery with my ninja behind me while I was looking down at the men who were still patrolling the base and took a breath as I released my golden arrow and said.
"Time to finish up with these guys." I made my arrow float and sent it flying around the base through the men at a high speed before returning it to my hand just as the men all dropped to the ground unconscious. "Begin moving the men down the tunnel and send them to the ship using my razorwhips while I handle the rest of the men and deal with the leader." They nodded and hopped off the roof while I turned to the commander quarters. "Now to deal with the leader of these pieces of scum." I pulled my golden arrow back into my prosthetic and hopped off the roof and began making my way to the double dragon proof doors. "Time to end this."
Nobodies POV:
Hiccup released a single void arrow and threw it at the doors and watched as the large black void formed where the doors were before it vanished leaving a large hole where the doors once were along with two men now lying unconscious on the ground. Hiccup changed his prosthetic into it plant form and made his way down the hall that had a few guards standing there and looking at him in shock. They quickly got over their shock before three of them charged at him but Hiccup just held out his prosthetic and made it extend towards the man on the right and grab him by the shirt. He then swung his prosthetic arm to the left swinging the body of the man he held right into them until they hit the wall, knocking them all unconscious due to the impact. Hiccup then continued on his way down the hall stopping occasionally to deal with the occasional guards who were still conscious and attacked him or at least tried to attack him before he took them down, released one of his Venus fly traps and sent them out of the building so they could be picked up by the ninja.
When Hiccup reached the end of the hall he found only a single person there, standing in front of a door with a spear in her right hand as she looked at Hiccup with an unreadable expression. This woman was the same height as Atali but with blue eyes and deep black hair that she had in a braid that went straight down to her waist and a scar on her face that went right across her face. She also wore Wing Maiden armor but it'd been painted black with red markings on it showing her symbol as a disgraced member of their tribe. Her spear was similar to Atali's Royal spear but this spear had spear head on each end of the pole and it was black with red Crimson rubies embedded in the staff of the spear. It wasn't hard to tell that this was Iris, the disgraced wing maiden who'd been causing all these problems so Hiccup walked towards her and said.
"Iris I presume." She nodded.
"And I'm guessing you're Hiccup Haddock." Hiccup raised an eyebrow.
"You've heard of me?"
"My men have complained about you and how you ruined their business." Hiccup smiled.
"Nice to know they remember me." She just smiled.
"They told me about your capabilities and what they had to deal with."
"That was a long time ago and since then I've picked up some new skills and new toys." Hiccup took out his mystic bo staff that had been kept under his bandana when it was no bigger than a toothpick and extended it into a full sized bo staff before he began spinning it around slowly. "I would normally just tell you now that it's better if you just give up now but I know you won't so let's just get this over with." She growled and charged at Hiccup with her spear as he sighed. "They always want to do things the hard way."
He then stepped aside avoiding the head of the spear that was stabbed at him before he slammed his foot down on the pole forcing it to the ground while Iris was pulled forward. Hiccup thrust his bo staff into her stomach making her cough and stumble back as she stumbled back while trying to recover from the blow. She growled and pulled a dagger out before lunging at him but Hiccup stepped back avoiding the attempt to imbed the dagger into his stomach. Hiccup grabbed her by the arm and twisted it around loosening her grip on the dagger before shoving her away as the dagger fell from her grasp and into Hiccups open hand. Iris stumbled back as Hiccup said.
"You can't win against me." She just glared at him and made a jump at him only for him to step to the side avoiding her.
"You won't stop me from getting my revenge."
"Revenge against the Wing Maidens for banishing you?" She glared.
"Not just them, revenge against my own sister who did nothing as I was banished and revenge against those beasts who scarred my face."
"Is the scar the reason you betrayed your people."
"Oh, it's more than that." Hiccup raised an eyebrow as they began circling each other. "Bringing an end to that curse the wing maidens call a mission is why I'm doing this." Hiccup looked at her confused.
"How is the mission of the wing maidens a curse?"
"It's a never-ending cycle of raising razorwhip hatchlings then letting them go and then starting all over again with new ones." A tear began forming in her eye. "I may have had a duty but I am still a woman with dreams of my own." A single tear fell from her eye. "A dream of being embraced from behind by a man I love and who loves me back while I hold and rock a child of our own in my arms." She looked Hiccup in the eyes. "We may be women with a mission but we are still women." She then charged at him. "AND I WON'T LET YOU GET IN MY WAY AND STOP ME FROM SHOWING THE TRUTH TO MY FELLOW WINGMAIDENS!" Hiccup grabbed the pole of the spear that was on the ground with his feet and spun around swinging the staff between her legs making her fall to the ground as Hiccup looked down at her while shrinking his staff back down and putting it back in place.
"I can understand where you're coming from but that doesn't make what you did right." He then kneeled down holding out his prosthetic with a single spore full of his knockout gas. "Nor does it mean I'll let you go." He then let the spore fly into her face and knock her out before he let out a sigh and gently picked her up bridal style. "I'll let the wing maidens know why you did all this but for now, let's get you back to their island where you'll be judged for your crimes." With that said Hiccup made his way out of the building.
2 days later
Hiccups POV:
It's been two days since I went up against the disgraced Wing Maiden known as Iris and her forces which were a few of the dragon hunters who were able to escape after the war. After Iris and her men were loaded up into the cells of my ships I proceeded to loot the place for all it's worth, from all its supplies to all its treasures that were kept in the room Iris was standing outside of. That room she was guarding had a desk covered in stacks of gold coins, a few small gold statues and some jewels in a leather bag so it was easy to handle. I gave all the treasures to the wing maidens since I already had more than enough treasures on my own island in my treasury so I had no use for it. There were a few documents I put away in my spiderpack so I could go over them later as they might hold some information I could use in the future. The items in the armory though were things I kept for myself but not for use but because my smothering smokebreaths, Saber and Bandit could use the metal stripped from them for their nests while the wood is something I could use for fires. After everything was looted I let out two canisters of my boom beetles and sent them all around the base before setting them off destroying the entire base beyond repair. I then went back to the ship so we could head out and take care of all the prisoners and resources we'd gathered on this little adventure but first, return the hatchlings and eggs to the wing maidens.
The wing maidens were happy to have the little ones back where they belong and for the treasures I'd given them before I told them about what Iris's true reason for doing what she did. They said they had a way of doing things such as having children while also going along with their tribal customs in which men are not brought into their tribe. This peeked my interest and when I began talking to them about this custom which is how I learned that like the Amazons they go out and have intimate nights with men they think are suitable and should they have a son, he'd go back to the father while the girls would be raised by them. When she said this, I noticed that some of the girls were giving me looks that neither me or my wives liked since it was easy to tell what they were thinking. I left Iris's punishment to them while the former dragon hunters were taken to the Defenders of the Wing who dealt with them by giving them the same fate as the other hunters I handed over to them.
Now it was night time and I was standing in my bedroom in just a set of pants, looking out the window to the garden as I was thinking about the future involving me embracing the women I love from behind while they gently rocked my own child in their arms. I wondered when that day would come or if it ever will since I knew I wanted to be a father someday and be the father my own never was when he found out I was a runt. The problem is I was also worried that I wouldn't be there for them when they really needed me since I would be travelling to new places to find ways to help Berk and occasionally protect Midgard from some sort of dark evil being intent on world domination. It was then I heard a voice from behind me say.
"And what's got you so bothered." I sighed and saw in the windows reflection that it was Astrid who was leaning on her hand with Blanca behind her, both looking at me in concern from their place in the bed as I sighed.
"Just worrying a bit about the future." They both smiled before Blanca said.
"Hiccup, you don't need to worry about that as whatever obstacle comes, we know you shall be able to handle it."
"I hope you're right but the problem I'm worried about is not something I can handle as easily as taking on some sort of dark force intent on the destruction of the world." They both rolled their eyes before Astrid said.
"Well it's a problem you probably won't be able to handle if you're tired so come back to bed and get some rest for tomorrow since there's no telling what it might bring." She shrugged. "Maybe tomorrow the eggs might finally hatch." I sighed while shaking my head before smiling.
"I can never say no to you girls." With that said I climbed back into bed and got ready for a goodnights sleep.
AN: And that brings an end to this chapter and I hope to get more reviews then the last one since this might be my last one for a while as my family and I will be leaving on Thursday for the Dubai followed by Cyprus. Because of this I won't be able to write too much on the plane ride out and in Cyprus I'll be spending time with my family most of the time so not too much writing will be happening. Anyway, we'll be gone for three weeks so don't expect too many updates in the coming weeks as they will be filled with flying, preparing things and enjoying some down time with the family so be patient. With all this said time to answer the questions.

Hiccup will not be travelling through all nine realms in the 200th chapter however he will be doing so in the future but not to collect keys but something else which is something you shall have to wait to see what it is.
