The line of luxury cars that pulled over the royal hotels v.i.p parking lot was more than usual as the hotel doubled on its valet parking, escorting each millionaire to the underground party hall rented out till 6. a.m. Everybody was on standby, from parking to the cooks to securities, as they hosted the top 1% of 1% heirs. The celebrities that arrived thought the back wasn't that surprising either, as the valets bet money on who was gonna show up for tonight's party. They were used to these types of parties. The thick NDA agreement they signed and the lawsuit they were warned about if they ever said anything to anybody was the only reminder they needed to know they couldn't even say the names let alone take pictures of anybody showing up to the party.
The millions she wasted setting up that party room into her dream-themed party took three party planners, two decorators, a world-class chef, and a baker on call if anything happened to the cake. Individual gift boxes were filled with exclusive luxury items, and another couple of hundred of thousand were wasted on the extra people hired to make tonight one-of-a-kind. The management hand-picked and blessed the extra staff serving as they witnessed the ultimate luxury party of the year. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for most of them as they gawked at the party hall that had become something they couldn't even dream about. They were assigned weird gusts as the regular staff of the hotel took the guests that were the most generous so they could make their rent in tips just from tonight. The fortunate ones were assigned to serve the F4 table, with the employee of the month being handed Junpyo. The luxury gifts he never seems to even pick up from his table could have been the only thing to celebrate being assigned to serve him. Trained to be invisible, the waiter assigned to him was there to bow and serve whatever he needed before he even uttered a word to request for it. She was paid top dollar to ensure her eyes were on him and served his every demand before it was verbalized. Unlike her, the boy she served couldn't even pick her out of a lineup to save his life. He won't even remember if it was men or women serving their table, let alone his line.
" You do know how to throw a party, " Woobin was the only one to compliment as he returned to their table with girls in each arm.
" ohh tonight is gonna be crazy, " Yijeong who had started the party way before they even got there was already a bit tipsy as he went on dancing along to the song busting out the numerous speakers installed into the wall.
" So where's my gift ?" her fingers playing with Junpyo's hair was something Jihoo wished he hadn't noticed as he sat in front of the couple. Her unique black dress revealed too much of her leg that sat too close to his best friend; Jihoo could only wonder how blinded this girl had to be to keep this going. But then again; she benefited greatly from the arrangement they had going on. Being Junpyos girlfriend came with endless privileges she had been taking advantage of since they started.
"I thought you had everything," Jihoo replied to her questioning eyes.
" I do" her smile was more flirtatious as she sent her eyes back Junpyo's way.
" I have a surprise for you later," she leaned closer and whispered in his ear before she kissed his head softly and left the table. She has too many people to entertain tonight. The fake smile he gave her was only recognized by Jihoo. Forget being excited; Junpyo doesn't even look like he wants to be there. He looked imprisoned and forced to stay there to exchange fake smiles, which he hopes will get him through the night. If not, he could always rely on alcohol, but for once he hadn't even started it. The hangover that had become too much wasn't something he looked forward to but at least tomorrow was the weekend and he could just sleep the whole day.
" I like you because you have nice lips."
" Oppa let's dance" Woobin, with his half-drunk girls, was off to the dance floor again while Yijeong left for the bathroom.
" Which one is he gonna end up with?" Junpyo brought the mocktail glass to his lips and asked as he focused his eyes on Woobin letting the girl whose lips he complimented kiss his neck while his left-hand stayed glued to the other dances along his back.
" One ?"
" I don't think Woobin knows the word " just one" " Jihoo replied, sending his eyes to the dance floor. It wasn't that out of the ordinary to watch Woobin enjoying himself like that; it was something he was known for. He can't help it. He was too rich and too good-looking not to be shared. The countless eye that followed them as they walked in was evidence of that. Even at places like this, they had the utmost attention as girls droll their way, ready to do whatever for their affection. As the alcohol starts registering and the tempo of the music changes . . .all the seductive dancing and steamy conversation starts. It was a dream to get one night with these four, let alone be their girlfriends. It has been like that since they turned 16, and it would only get worse as they look forward to their 20th birthdays and heading to college.
For those that came in hopes to get one of the famous four, you would think the options would be on the single ones but the flirting eyes didn't stop from blinking Junpyo's way. The fact that he was marked territory didn't stop some, at least not tonight. The fact that his girlfriend was in the building and it was her party didn't stop the winking eyes and sensual looks he had been getting since he sat down.
" The more important question is, who are you ending up with ?" Jihoo brought back his eyes to his friend. Junpyo's eyes blinked as he registers what his best friend had just asked.
" I don't wanna get a call in the morning about you waking up at some random hotel " pouring himself the cold sparkling water Jihoo added. He had caught his friends' wondering eyes glancing at a couple of girls that kept walking past their table earlier. He s a shitty boyfriend and has done shitty things but leaving this place with any other girl than his girlfriend tonight would make it to the top reasons as to why he was such a shitty boyfriend.
"Can you be a good boyfriend for one night ?" Jihoo asked a question he already knew the answer to.
"I didn't do anything " Junpyo complained with a smile, but both couldn't help but look up at the random girl that just walked up to their table and slid a folded napkin Junpyo's way. Her strapless dress was left too low intentionally as she leaned over their table and gave both a good view of the body jewelry that had replaced the bra she wasn't wearing. Her red lipsticked lips she had bitten had their message as she gave him a small smile and walked away. Taken aback, both followed her tall legs until she disappeared into the dancing crowd.
" What?" Junpyo's smile was too precious as he took in Jihoo's angry eyes glaring his way.
" Give me that," Jihoo leaning ahead, picked up the folded napkin.
She is coming for your man - lefty was too quick as he texted the number along with the picture of the napkin. The red lipstick mark was too fresh as it left some marks on his finger. He might not have thought about it, but it was a bad idea to leave Junpyo alone as Jihoo stood up and headed towards the bathroom. His eyes could have been enough but the smiles he extended to some of the eyes looking at him had done the trick to give some the confidence they needed to hope that maybe, just maybe they had a chance with any of the F4 boys. He knew what he was doing as he zeros his eyes on some candidates he could mess up their night with a smile. It was interesting to watch their reaction to even getting a smile out of him. They were pathetic but interesting.
The power his eyes had over people, especially girls was something he realized by the time his age hit double digits. But as he became a teenager and the hormones hit, the power had grown exponentially making his eyes the only thing he needed to have them crawling for him. His smiles and raspy voice were the next but they were beyond deadly as he was too good with his words whenever he wanted to be. His personality, his body, his fame, his money ... he never had to even bother to use any of those. His eyes were always enough. Once in a while, a smile and a line or two sealed the deal. It was all too easy and he was fully aware of the power he had and when to use it.
Line of wine and champagne bottles turned upside down their quiet table was turned into the loudest as Woobin and Yijoeng returned with some girls that took every corner of the table. The shot glasses getting turned upside, and the two cigarettes getting passed around between random lips ... the loud waves of laughter and curious hands that are all over each other. The party has just started as the dark lights start flashing.
" I am gonna leave. I have ."
" I will walk you" before Jihoo finished his sentence, Junpyo jumped up from his seat.
" Excuse me" he gave the girls a quick smile as he grabbed his phone and jumped out of the crowded table. It was as though he was waiting for an excuse to leave as he abandoned the table and headed straight to the exit sign without even glancing back at the friends he left behind. They were busy taking shots and licking salts from the chest of the random girls to pay any attention to him anyway.
The cold air attacking their body was beyond refreshing as Junpyo took a couple of deep breaths. He needed it.
" You don't have to be here if you don't want to" zipping his jacket up Jihoo advised as he noticed how relieved and relaxed Junpyo's face turned the moment they walked out of the hotel. He didn't look like he was enjoying the evening even the slightest bit. It all started with his tired morning. He looked out of it before the day even started. The alcohol he usually chugs was granted a day off as even Jihoo had noticed how much of the alcohol his friend had tried to avoid as the girls kept sliding it his way.
" Please don't call me if you get bored
" Just go home; I have better things to do," he added as he snatched the cigarette from Junpyo's lips.
" don't drink tonight" he added a warning.
" and can you for ONE night not be selfish and really be a good boyfriend" Jihoo added as he started walking to the black car the valet drove to the front of the driveway.
" For one NIGHT" Jihoo shouted back as he gave a small smile and a hundred-dollar bill to the valet who gave a full bow back. The smile on Junpyo's face stayed longer than it should as he kept his eyes on the black car that slowly drove out of the driveway.
" Sir" the valet walking back gave a full bow as he passed by the dark-looking man standing in the middle of the driveway. He didn't have enough alcohol or nicotine in his body to let lefty's plea go in one ear and out the other.
Shhh, the cold breeze brushing his hair away invaded his already stone-cold skin but the cold sensation was nothing compared to the numb feeling that had taken over his body since he woke up. The cold air being the one thing he needed to remind him that he was still alive he stood there for some minutes before heading to the entrance door.
His brain was busy trying hard to find an excuse not to accept that he was that selfish. He just doesn't care about anybody or anything, that's not that selfish? To be selfish, he has to care about himself but he doesn't care that much about himself either. He's not selfish, he just doesn't give a shit about anything or anyone. His fighting fingers emptying his pockets for a cigarette came out empty. He needs something between his lips or some heavy alcohol to silence the soreness that was starting to take over his whole body. He seriously needs to get drunk till he falls tonight, he convinced himself as he headed for the elevator.
Click - the elevator doors opened quietly.
Before the doors shut, a gloved hand halted the doors forcing them to open back up. Dressed in all black and leather gloves to match, a man walked in giving Junpyo a small smile. " who wears gloves indoors ?" Junpyo's questioning eyes were too focused on the leather gloves to notice the two people that walked in.
" Pretty ladies first" came an old voice grabbing his attention to whoever was being called a pretty lady.
The black painted nails went well with the black heels she had on as her right leg was the first one to take the first step in. The big slit of the dress showcased her glowing skin and perfectly toned right leg which his eyes followed as the split ended by her upper thigh leading to the tightly hugging dark green dress showcasing her hips and delicate figure well. The dress was way risque than most would accept as he trailed his curious eyes to the refind face. Her dark hair tightly held in a small bun was finally out of the way giving all a clear view of her elegant face. The moment his mind registered the dazzling beautiful face that walked in everything started moving in slow motion.
His dumbstruck eyes couldn't help but stare at the girl who had just walked in. Her brown eyes now highlighted by the golden shimmers that were added to her eye shadow had stared back at him for a second or two as she walked in. The dark brown and shimmering eye shadow she had on perfectly matched her chocolate brown-colored lips. Her highlighted cheekbones were as sharp as her black-lined eyes as he registered her magnificent facial structure that was left to be admired as the messy hair that always cuddled and hid it was tucked away for once. As though he was a stranger she has never seen before, she had turned her face around and stood a step or two in front of him, giving him a good view of her unclothed back.
" You know who you remind me of, there was this actress .. " the elevator doors were too slow as they closed behind the old man standing next to her and placed his right hand on her back. Junpyo's shocked eyes couldn't help but follow the old fingers as they started tracing the spinal line on her back. Something was beyond bewitching about her slender naked back as Junpyo took note of every bone and freckle along her well-tempting and glowing skin. The body she kept hidden in the scrappy uniform was out on display as it left even Junpyo stunned to look away from. Her small figure he was used to noticing across the hallways of the grand school was beyond stunning as it stood in front of him, only covered by the soft silk fabric that would entice anybody to want to touch it.
If he weren't too dismayed by what he was witnessing, he would have been disgusted by the old fingers tracing her back but no. He was too stunned even to question how on earth she was with this old man and what was going on.
" You know I have some connections if you want to be an actress " the curious old hand slowly slid down to her butt. Junpyo's shocked eyes rose to find the girl smiling back at the old hag. His shock instantly erased out of thought, her side profile was the only thing he could make out as what he was witnessing was quickly silenced by his amazement at her smiling lips.
So she knows how to smile.
And she can react to what was being said to her.
" Haha" her small smiles he only got a glimpse of as she rested her head on the old man's shoulder; his furious and stunned eyes didn't even give his baffled mind a second to process what he was witnessing, let alone question why any of this was getting any reaction out of him.
" Or if you want to be a model, you do have the body for it" the old man goes on chatting as she lifted her eyes to the elevator door in front and focused on the reflection of the boy standing behind her. His body, that hasn't moved since they got in, didn't say much but all she needed was his startled eyes to question if he had recognized her.
" I am sure there will be a line of men wanting to get a hold of it . ." the old man's comment Junpyo would have caught if not distracted by her head that slowly turned his way for a second, forcing their eyes to meet for the first time. Her eyes are brown; he took a mental picture as the glimmering eye's shadow and dark eyeliner made her eyes beyond captivating to just look at. The power of makeup, he would conclude it hours later for the explanation as to why everything was erased out of his view when her eyes landed on his. A step or two away from him, her questioning eyes only lasted a second as she sent them back to the front when the elevator stopped.
"Let's go" the gloved man was the first to walk out, followed by the drunk old man and the girl trying hard to hold him up.
"Huh" Junpyo took his first deep breath as he stood still, left speechless by what the just witnessed. One, two. .he needed some seconds to get a grip before he jumped out right before the elevator doors shut back. He didn't even know what he was doing as he followed the three people leading the way. He needs some proof to believe what was happening is what he thought was going on.
"This way," the gloved man led the way as the so-called mute girl tried hard to hold up the old man who was too busy admiring her figure. It didn't take much for Junpyo to notice they were on the luxury suite floor of the hotel as he slowed his steps and trailed behind the people walking in front. He can thank the room service people before him for covering him as he makes out the New York suit room the three walk into. A minute later, the gloved man was out of the room - hanging the do not disturb sign on the door handle; he was out of the hallway in minutes.
10
20
30 . . . the minutes went by as the still baffled Junpyo sat across the lobby on the third floor.
There was no mistaking it this time; he was beyond sure it was her. The girl who entered the New York suite was the same as the one his friend commanded to clean his shoes, the same one Woobin slapped access the room weeks ago. He didn't have to think long and hard to figure out what she might be doing; there were only a few reasons to explain her walking into the luxurious hotel room with that old man dressed like that. Not once but twice did Junpyo have to shake his head to get the image out of his mind as he tried not even to imagine what might be happening behind that closed door. But thinking about that was way better than his photographic mind replying to her alluring back and glowing skin that was a step away from him.
WHERE ARE YOU?
DID YOU LEAVE?
COME BACK NOW. The line of all caped messages he received was left unseen as his phone in his pocket kept buzzing, unable to grab his attention. While his mind was fighting itself against accepting that reason he couldn't stop thinking about what she looked like, his eyes focused on the people walking out of the hallway. Seated in the corner, he kept hidden behind the big piano piece as he waited.
He waited.
He waited.
He doesn't even know why, but he waited.
The little nicotine he had in his system was now completely gone as he sat with his legs crossed, not even sure what he was doing. He can't help it. His inquisitive mind was doomed to waste all its energy trying to figure out what was happening. His need to know has always been way above average. It was one of his many obsessions. He was barely five when he spent three days digging every hole and turning every stone to find out what happened to his dog, which his dad claimed was going to grandma's. Not one of his fondest memories, but that was when it all started . . . never satisfied until he knows the truth. Once something starts bothering him, he can't help it. It was like an itch that needs to be scratched. He needs to get his answers.
When you don't trust most, you must find the truth alone. That's what he had convinced himself it was all about. The minutes he was waiting was explained as him wanting to know what she was doing in the room rather than an utter fascination by what happened in the elevator since he noticed her dress and sparkling eyes that had looked at him for once. The dozen of freckles on her back he took note of, her delicate skin, her fragile-looking bones that were too visible to miss, her inviting and bare shoulder . . .Junpyo was lost in his thought to notice the girl who walked out the hallway into the lobby.
She was halfway across the lobby when he finally noticed.
The phone in his hand he had pulled out to take a picture stood screen pitch dark as he was still too dismayed. Her shoulders slouched, head bowed down, messy hair covering her face, eyes glued to the floor walk he was used to was nowhere to be found as she walked upright, eyes looking straight ahead, giving the random men glancing her way a small smile. Her confident and elegant steps, as they should, have grabbed the attention of all the men in the lobby who didn't miss to glance at her for a second or two. Forget ashamed, she didn't even look that phased as she cruised across the Persian carpeted lobby.
Click - she leaned forward and pressed the down button as she stood right before the elevator doors.
His fingers finally remembering what they were supposed to do, he started clicking, taking more than enough pictures as she slowly walked into the elevator. He needs better pictures if he needs to convince himself, let alone anybody else that it was the same girl.
" Excuse me," he had pushed the old lady out of the way as he jumped up from his seat and ran to the elevator.
"Come on. Come on throwing his phone into his pocket, he started pressing the down button.
"Come on. Come on." brushing his hair back, he went on pressing the button, but it was no help, there was no elevator door that opened.
" Fuck" he brushed his hair back again as he turned his full speed on and headed to the exit sign.
He knew he had a good 10 or 15 seconds before her elevator reached the first-floor lobby. Step after step, his dark hair dangling up and down was too distracting as he tried to jump two or three steps and fasten his run down the stairs.
" OMMO" the man passing by screamed as Junpyo jumped out the exit door of the main lobby.
"huh ...huh ..." Even though his lungs asked for more air and for him to calm down, he focused his dark eyes on the crowd of people in the lobby. His frantic-looking hair added to his shoulder going up and down rapidly it was no shocking matter that people walking by had to glare at him up and down.
" huh ...huh " he went on taking deep breaths as he comes to every corner of the lobby to find her walking towards the back door.
" MOVE!" he pushed some people out of his way as he quicked his steps. She didn't look back once as she went straight ahead. The black bag placed across her shoulder was new as she quickened her steps.
" huh...huh" It's going to take some minutes for his lungs and heart to return to their usual rhythm as they ask for assistance, and his brain orders for more oxygen.
" Sorry" he smiled at the little girl as he pushed her out of his way.
He had to turn his quick steps into running as she went past the door. He might have mistaken the sudden rush that took over his body for an after-effect of his stairs-jumping exercise or his nicotine-infused blood that lacked any of the nutrition and food it needed to function at full speed.
" huh ...huh ." he took in the cold and clear air of the night as he banged the door open and ran out into the driveway.
" huh ...huh " his breathing was way out of rhythm as his feet headed to the stairs and turned left to the parking lot. His running legs halted as his eyes landed on the motorcycle that was getting ready to speed out of the driveway.
The cold air attacking his pale face had brushed his dangling hair away as he stood frozen, eyes zooming on the girl sitting on the back of the motorcycle that, in seconds, vroomed out of view.
Her heels were held in her hands, and a leather jacket and a black helmet were added to her outfit. Her arms tightly hugging the tall figure driving the motorcycle, Junpyo was forced to note how their leather jacket and helmet were matching. Her dress getting ready to fly away was brushed aside exposing the black shorts she had on as her leg was brought closer to the man who unlike her, was covered from head to toe. His black jeans that went well with his boots were the perfect addition to the leather jacket, helmet, and black gloves. The two looked like two badass criminals riding into the night as the motorcycle drove out the driveway.
As expected the dress started flying exposing her glowing bare leg and feet as it started dancing along the wind the motorcycle was going against. This was no ordinary scene to witness as it all happened in a couple of seconds before the motorcycle was out onto the main road and out of view.
" Sir?"
" Sir ? are you okay . ." one of the securities passing by asked as he zoomed his eyes on the empty driveway Junpyo was staring at.
" huh." Jumpyo didn't respond.
" Have a good night sir" as the dark eyes turned his way, the security bowed and started walking his way.
" WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU ?"
" I TEXTED YOU HUNDRED TIMES ?" she went on screaming as Junpyo returned to the table. Irregular breathing, puzzled eyes, and messed up hair ...throwing his jacket onto the table, Junpyo didn't even respond as he grabbed the champagne bottle and headed ahead to the empty chair he saw in the corner.
