The thick school file he finally got a hold of was as useless as it lay widespread across his desk. The request he had made before he went to sleep, was delivered before he even woke up. The thick file was placed on his desk. Her book, which he just finished reading, was placed right above it. The maid that was handed the documents knew to place the file around the book she had seen in his hands almost every day and was reading was the best way to guarantee that he wouldn't miss the documents.
From the basic school information to every grade she ever got, every assignment she turned in, every absence she ever had, every red slip she reserved, every minute of cleaning and other services she did; every detail of her school life was reported back to Junpyo as he requested.
Unlike any other morning, he woke up at dawn and demanded to be served his breakfast in his study room as he spent the last few hours going through the files. His study room at the left corner of the house, which the maids called his "cave," had the best view of the fountain and the grand garden that stretches for miles. The french windows that were wall high were opened to let the morning air in along with the calming songs the birds from the garden were singing. The nice breeze coming from the window was strong enough to force his silk two-piece pajamas to swing left and right as he sat with his chair facing the window, taking in the beautiful sunrise and morning. For once the sky was clear as the sun welcomed a new day. Friday. His hair swinging along to the breeze had not bothered the focused Junpyo as his eyes stared at the distance while his thoughts were lost to the images that started replying.
None of the bewitchment was gone as he recalled her killer kicks and punches that laid 3 grown men unconscious in front of him. Her slender legs which had left him speechless as she strutted across the lobby, were even more bewitching and deadly when clothed and used as weapons. He had thought of them as frail and beyond sluggish whenever he caught them walking across the campus. Which shifted to capturing his attention when they were well moisturized and strutting with a beautiful dress on, and now they had left him bewildered and beyond captivated as they have proven how deadly they could be.
" Huh" a small smile escaped his lips.
What happened last night? His logical mind was still having a hard time accepting what he witnessed to be true. Considering the number of years of taekwondo and martial arts he took, which his grandfather had forced him to do since he could walk, he knew the stunt she pulled in minutes was beyond a couple of years of regular training.
"How did she even train?"
"Where and how many years did she train?"
"Isn't she poor?'
"Isn't she poor to even buy new shoes let alone pay to be trained?
"Why was she this trained?
" Maybe she needs protection because of the type of work she does. But then she had the bike man? Maybe it is for self-protection for the men she provides service" . . . that seemed like the most obvious reason. She works a very risky job so of course she needs protection. But her skill was above just some self defense techniques. Also if she could do that, why has she been quietly accepting all the attacks at school? She could easily fold all the boys humiliating her in half whenever she wanted to so why ? His mind had so many questions that it was all starting to hurt. His hands brushing his hair back were sent to his coffee. The painkiller he had taken had done its job as it had silenced the hangover but the confusion and shock he was still processing were left for him to deal with.
The girl that enchanted his curious eyes with her well-choreographed kicks and the girl that forced him to chase her down the fire escape of the hotel, Junpyo was now dead sure were the same person. She was the same so-called "mute girl" that had glared at him when he had to force her to look by spilling his coffee.
He could be losing his mind but he was sure it was the same girl.
It had to be the same girl.
He could have justified her weirdness for being poor, which Min he really couldn't understand or relate to even if he tried but that wasn't it. Her being an escort, her fighting skills, her emotionless state at school, her night and shining arms she rode off with . . .there was something about this most important and puzzling question now was, beyond her A's and countless red slips, who is Geum Jandi?
His morning spent answering his own questions were the same as hers, which were filled with trying to figure out the 'who' and 'why' of the car that was chasing her last night. The license and car mark she wasn't able to notice, she was left with no information to even start with. Her plan as she beat the men down was maybe to quit working at the cafe so her coworkers don't get harassed but that plan was now changed. She needs to return back to see if whoever was driving that car was looking for her. She needs to return back to make sure she finds out Who and Why as soon as possible.
That was the collusion as she left the house and headed to school. Her exhausted body couldn't even walk at its regular speed as it forced her to recognize how much she needs a break sooner than soon. The massage and rest she was looking forward to over the weekend, she had one more day of childish games before she was granted some peace. Fridays are usually all about their evening plans and weekend parties so she had hoped they would give her some space and she was right. Nobody bothered her through her morning class. Apart from the name-calling in her class, there was nothing major that happened as the lunch break bell rang.
Her lunch box was tightly wrapped and placed right at the table next to her. She sat completely focused on the book she had at hand. Unable to hide away from these kids who have made it their fun activity to ruin her day, she decided to eat right in the cafe. Better be kicked around right in the middle of the cafe with the number of cameras catching it, just in case she needed proof for her revenge. It was better than being bullied hidden in some bathroom or corner of the school with no proof. She didn't need any proof but it's always good to have something. There was no reason to hide away anymore, if they wanted to, she knew they would find her anyway. She can't hide from some kicks and juvenile games either.
Her earphones religiously plugged in at her ear, she munches on the dried mango from the pouch she had sitting atop her lunch box. The small raindrops attaching the window next to her have added a great deal on setting the mood to transport her to the fictional world she was reading about. For minutes, the real place she was in was forgotten as she lifted her legs and laid them on to her chair in front, completely immersing herself in the book. If only she could, she would with no hesitation jump into the world of the words. The fairytale world where she could be the main character and have her happy endings, where she could go to sleep dreaming about her simple fantasies. . . life was way better in her favorite books.
Knowing her cursed existence she should have been prepared for her perfect moment to be ruined, and it didn't take much as a long leg kicked the chair in front of her towards the window forcing her to instinctively retrieve her legs back to her side. She closed her eyes for a second as she swallowed the rush of fight or flight that jumped over her when she heard the loud bang.
"Been looking for you for a while " with his arms crossed Woobin sat on the chair he banged against the window. Before she even took in the page number, the book was snatched out of her hand. His slaps she still remembers from weeks ago played in her head as she focused her eyes on his hand which started quickly flipping through the pages. Not another book. COuld they at least leave her stuff alone.
"You read a lot" Yijeongs words were at least accompanied by a smile as he stood right next to his friend giving her a good view of Jihoo at a distance, busy with the phone call he was distracted by.
"huh" She took a deep breath as she bit her own tongue and surpassed all the rage building inside of her. So finally, he has decided to do his own work and not send his minions.
"So mute freak, when do I get to see how good you are ?" throwing her book down onto the table, Woobin asked.
" She can't talk " Yijeong was the one to answer as he pulled up the chair and sat down next to his friend. It was surprising how they kept calling her mute girl but keep asking her question and expecting her to respond.
" Oh yeah, She can't talk " his antagonized eyes were menacing as he focused them on her. The dozen or so thoughts crossed his mind as he scanned her up and down, which she was very aware of.
" So how do we get to hear her thoughts," Woobin asked, crossing his legs and sitting back.
" If she has any'' he added. Unbothered by the two, her eyes glanced back at the one standing behind her. His staring eyes she had become used to looked more focused than ever as they stayed on her. The only one that caught her little jump when his friend kicked the chair her legs were sitting on, Junpyo was surprised by the second long emotion she showed. So she does get surprised.
As though he was waiting for a show to begin, he crossed his arms and waited. Her enchanting kicks and punches which he knew she could execute well and end all his friends, would be beyond epic to witness while she was still in her uniform. He will do anything to see her fiery eyes and deadly legs do their work while she is in full clear view. His contemplation on whether he should let Woobin push her to the point she had to fight back or let her be had no clear answer. More than anything, he wanted to witness her enchanting kicks to confirm once and for all that it was her.
"What on Earth is this? " Tearing open the pouch, Woobin threw the four or five pieces of dried mango across the table.
" What the fuck Is this? " picking one with his two fingers he went on scanning, the disgusted look on his face was the reaction she expected from this asshole anyway.
" Looks disgusting, " Yijeong added, leaning closer to get a good view . Unlike his friends, Junpyo's eyes hadn't left her. She couldn't quite figure out what but there was something in the way he was looking at her. She should have questioned his focus and concentration but she was too busy trying not to get annoyed by the drama in front of her.
" What can you expect from these people? '' throwing the mango he picked up, Woobin pulled the napkin out of the box on the table and started cleaning his fingers.
" They are beyond disgusting, Look she has been wearing the same thing everytime we see her" Woobin went on as he leaned back and started pointing at the girl.
"Maybe she can't afford to, '' Yijeong, thinking he was helping her, added quickly. Her unbothered eyes eyes have gone from the two to Junpyo, who she was expecting to join in but unlike other times the careless and unbothered Junpyo looked very interested and entertained by what was happening in front of him.
".DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CLOTH ,?" Leaning closer, Woobin shouted at her face . The only one that was shocked by what was happening was Yijeong. Even the girl he was trying to defend didn't look that bothered by the comments made .
" I AM SICK AND TIRED OF YOU DISGUSTING UNIFORM" he shouted again right at her face as though she was deaf and shouting it was the only way she could hear his words. His eyes had accompanied the same disgusted tone as his a moment she had thought about grabbing him by his hair and smashing his head against the glass table until all the blood in his upper body came out of every hole on his face . Ohhh how satisfying that would be.
"Come on" Junpyo whispered as he caught her eyes that glanced up at Woobin that was getting too close to her face and screaming at her.
How much is she going to take before she fights back?
Maybe when you become that good at fighting, your patience is on a different level. Junpyo went on questioning why the girl never fights back and always accepted everything in silence. Maybe she needs to be pushed to her limit to bring the fighter out of her.
"IT'S DISGUSTING " he added, finally angered by her nonchalant way of ignoring his words.
" That's it, get up" Lefty, finally getting to the scene, jumped in between the girl and Woobin and started pulling Woobin up .
" Let me go '' Woobin , being the strong one, swung Jihoo's hand away.
"Yaa , am talking to you " picking her own cup of water he threw it at her face . Even though he knew there would be no retaliation even Yijeong was startled as he caught the cup full of water that landed on the girl's face. The drops of water landing down on her skirt felt so cool as she stayed glued down, still not bothering to even look up.
" yeah" she smiled inwards as she remembered that she had brought her gym uniform today. Her Nike shoes and tracksuit were the perfect outfit to cover her tired body on her way home.
"That's enough " Jihoo commanded as he left his friend's side and walked across to hand her the box of tissues.
".YAA " Woobin's anger that seemed to only be getting worse was inflamed as he witnessed how his friend was helping her. It was all starting to get to him as he lifted his feet and started kicking her legs. His black leathered shoes didn't have that much force as they landed against her bare skin.
".YAA " another kick right at her left knee but there was no reaction. She didn't even move her hand to accept the napkin box Jihoo had brought to her side of the table.
The goal was to be invisible.
No matter how much their little games were getting to her, it wasn't worth risking everything she had worked for. If she wanted , she could silence them forever in a million ways but they weren't worth it. Rather than anger, what she felt was annoyed. Annoyed that they think throwing water at her and calling her names is gonna break her down. His minions were better at this than him, she had taught.
".Here you go " Jihoo added a small smile as he leaned closer and brought the box to her lap . He got no reply.
" I think there's something wrong with her " Yijeong, now a little bit scared about what was sitting in front of him, leaned away from the scene before he started taking a step away.
" YAAA" Woobin wasn't even remotely worried about the metal cup he had picked up as he swung it straight to her face that she had kept hidden.
".Ewww. " Yijeong took another step away. The cup that had landed right at her nose had done its job as the red liquid started slowly flowing down her nose. She didn't look like she even cared about the blood gushing out her nose.
She sat still, eyes glued to her skirt which now would be welcoming some drops of blood .
She sat still, unlike any of them expected, unbothered by the blood .
If she had to let her nose bleed gallons to get them to leave her alone, it was something she was willing to she cared about anything, she would be hurt by the disgusting look they had on their spoiled pale faces more than the blood gushing out .
".Let's just go " Yijeong was the one who started tapping the bewildered Woobin still sitting in front of her.
" ENOUGH" finally bringing his commanding voice Jihoo warned of getting his friends' attention .
".Let's just get something to drink " Yijeong added
".Can't drink anything after looking at that " Woobin didn't fail to add another inhumane comment as he stood up and started following Yijeong.
" Are you okay ?" Jihoo kneeling down and bringing his face close to hers asked as he tried to get a good glimpse of her face. The napkin in his hands wasn't accepted as he knew not to touch the girl no matter how much he wanted to place the soft napkin on her bleeding nose.
"You need to . "His words were completely ignored as she stood up from her chair. The blood coming from her nose was completely ignored as she focused her eyes on her book which she picked up. She grabbed her lunch box and started her quick step away. One two, she took rhythmic steps away from the table, towards the girls bathroom.
Jihoo she left behind was ignored unlike Junpyo standing a step away from her. She finally brought her head up, as he caught her fiery brown eyes directed his way. Her wet hair dancing left and right to the march like the way she walked, added to her angry rosey cheeks, Junpyo knew she was looking at to the looby behind him and not at him, but it was involuntary as his body registered the feeling that ignited when her angry eyes finally looked at him for a split second. His eyes didn't even have a choice as they followed her every step away from him.
" This needs to stop " Jihoo, not even aware that his words were going in one ear and out the other as Junpyo stood eyes focused on the figure walking away .
Her bloody nose, that she didn't look bothered about, had actually added to the blood curling way she had stared right back at him. The deadly girl hiding behind that uniform had shown herself in the fraction of a second second long stair they exchanged .
"You can't just keep doing this " pushing Junpyo aside, Jihoo led the way.
" This is messed up ." Jihoo added, turning back to Junpyo following him behind.
"She is mute" Jihoo went on shouting as he threw the napkin in his hands in the garbage can .
" Please Leave her alone "
"I didn't do anything, " Junpyo finally replied. Their plan to meet in the game room is now ruined. He preferred to have some alone time as he headed to his favorite hideout ;leaving Jihoo to deal with the other two waiting in their third floor game room.
The white napkin stuffed in her nose was something that drew attention the moment she walked into the classroom but the startled eyes were more surprised by her tracksuit. The shock didn't last long though as she sat at her corner's desk and became invisible. Eyes glued to the small rain drops attacking the window by her side she swallows all the feelings the gloomy weather and pretty raindrops were bringing up. She wasn't blessed with the luxury to have feelings.
To have emotions ,to express them was something she was stripped off long ago. She had trained her heart not to feel anything, neither the pain nor the pleasure of even a single smile. If she did , if she let her heart beat even for a second her world would come crumbling down. The weight hanging over her shoulder would have plemuted her to the deepest part of the earth, to be buried in her own sorrow.
To feel lonely, helpless, suffocated . . . even those were a luxury she couldn't afford.
Unlike any other day, she was the last one to walk out of her classes . Her backpack hanging over her right shoulder she takes her slow walks across the almost empty hallway leading to the main gate. She had blamed the loss of blood for her tired legs and the slow strides they were taking but it was the result of her body that had been exhausted beyond its limits. The dark hair strands covering her colorless face and blank eyes staring at the floor . . . all she wants to do now is just get away from this place and find a place to rest.
" huh" She took her first breath of fresh air as she stepped through the double doors. The gushing cold wind was quick as it started playing with her hair. The needle like cold air was fast as it pierced through her whole body, tantalizing every inch of her skin. What better way to be reminded she was alive than being electrocuted by the cold wind brushing against her defenseless skin.
It was a good 15 minute walk between the driveway and the main gate , then another 30 minutes walk to the train station ...45 minutes was something she could handle with her eyes closed. Focused on the invisible gate ahead she fights against the cold wind gushing her way as she takes her slow walks.
All she wants now is just to leave this place in peace.
" HEY mute girl. '' The loud scream was becoming a familiar thing now as one of Woobin's minions called out for her.
".YAAA. . " he shouted again. The four or five students walking in front of her turned around to make sure if they were the ones being yelled at as Jandi biting her own tongue just went on her way. She knew he was shouting her way.
".YO FREAK " He shouted, forcing the five students in front of her to turn their eyes her way. She was the only one that would ever be referred to by that name. No matter how much she fought herself, she had to halt her steps. She knew not stopping would bring more harassment. She only had a short amount of time left in this place. It was better to let them get away with whatever they wanted to do until she gets the green light that this school was a lost cause. Until then she has tolerated it all.
Just remembered why you're here, the voice in her head repeated a couple of times as she took a deep breath and stood still.
" I'M TALKING TO YOU " he shouted again as she slowly turned herself around. No matter how much she prepared herself, unable to look up at their faces.
" .COME HERE " pulling his right hand out he signaled for her to walk his way. The slow steps she was taking were light. Her pale skin showcased how much the cold air had attacked it with no mercy.
" There is someone who wants to see you," the boy with big smiles whispered as the two boys next to him took a few steps towards her. Their hands were quick as they slid her backpack away from her.
" Follow me" the boy gave her the order as the two boys behind started pushing her towards the direction he was leading. The week-long game they have been playing with her, she really can't understand why the heavens can't give her a break for once. It's Friday night, don't these rich kids have better things to do? The whole way to wherever they were taking her was spent contemplating about why she was this unlucky. She had no idea what was waiting for her but thanks to her cursed existence, she could expect the worst. One look at the corner they turned and she knew things were taking a turn for the worst. They have just left the occupied buildings for empty pathways and corners leading to hidden corners of the campus even she wasn't that aware of.
Was this it?
Was this where the bullying entered a new level?
Was this where she will experience the real one? She questioned as she took mental pictures of every turn .
All her questions were answered when they walked into the graffitied corner of the rotting building. Her eyes from the dark trees and veins, turned to the graffitied wall. It was dark and cold. In seconds her admiration of the place would be whipped away as she made out the two boys standing by the pole covered by the old vines. The cup that landed on her nose hours ago, her eyes focused on the one that threw it as she made out woobin breathing out the white smoke.
So this was it?
She was finally getting the F4 treatment. Why today out of all days?
"Go" the boy behind her head pushed her to keep walking to the middle of the space. As she took in more steps the one sitting by the corner came into full view. The lighter his fingers were playing with were ignored as she focused her attention on his eyes she can't seem to read but knew she should be scared of. As always , the looks exchanged lasted only seconds as she sent her eyes down. Remembering her palace, she hides her eyes away from all of them as she stands in the middle.
" Nice to see you again" leaving Yijeong behind, Woobin started walking her way. The cigarette in his left hand, she was quick to hypothesize that she might get burnt with today. Her exhausted body asking for mercy didn't even have the energy to process pain at this point. She might not even feel any of it as she stood convincing herself to be ready for cigarette buds to land on her skin. It won't be the first time it was done in this school.
" You look good in red" he added with a mischievous smile as he sent his gloved right hand to her chin. The cold leather against her skin, was it crocodile skin? That's what she was curious about as he lifted her chin up. His eyes from the napkin on her nose, shifted to her eyes hidden behind her badly chopped bangs.
" Red is your color ''' he added as his middle finger lifted up to her bangs and shifted them away from her eyes which were involuntarily ordered to focus on the man that was not only in her personal space but touching her. The Fight or flight mode his touch activated was shut down instantly as she controlled her instinct to any touch.
" Don't you think?" his middle finger from the strand of hair being brushed away slowly traced down her face to her cherry colored lips. The fraction of a second touch his finger had traced across her lips was registered along with the look in his eyes she had a good view of. That look was all she needed to know what this boy was going to make her do eventually. She had seen it quite a few times and knew exactly what it meant in every situation.
" Maybe because she's tan," yijeong, still standing by the pole, added to break the tiny tension he witnessed building up. Woobin's focused gave might have been ignored because he claimed he was disgusted to touch her, but his finger that was touching her seemed like they had a different intention as even Yijeong was able to recognize the look on his friend's face. The girl who had never dared to look up was forced to do so and her eyes she kept them on his friend were adding to the situation as they had no fear. She was just staring right back at his friend. The more she doesn't react or give him the attention he was demanding, Yijeong knew the more it infuriated Woobin.
" Her skins is not that fair" he added chuckling at his own observation.
"Is that so?" Woonbin's finger left her face as he took a step away from her.
" Take the jacket off" he commanded as he sent his left hand to his pocket.
" let's see this tan skin" he smiled while blowing the white smoke at her face.
" I don't" Yjeong's lips that opened were silenced as the girl with no hesitation unzipped her jacket and took it off. There was not even a second long delay or worry as she took it off. The cold air that immediately started attacking her arms were ignored as the frustration building inside her was warming her body. The white t-shirt she had on was only exposing her arms and a small peak of her chest. That was enough skin if they really were curious about her skin.
"Huh" Woobin inhaling the nicotine from the cigarette placed in between his lips sent his eyes from her arm to her face. Her eyes being his target. There is something with this girl's eyes.
" See she is tan" Yijeong was the only one celebrating his claim.
" Here is everything" His attention from the two was placed on the two boys who walked into the middle and placed all her stuff they were ordered to bring.
" Here" the boy who dragged her had walked to the middle with her backpack in his hand. He pulled out her uniform from her backpack and threw it to the pile of her locker stuff they had thrown into the wet and muddy ground. Her swimming outfits, her towels, her first aid kits, tampons, school calendar, and some snacks was all they found. Her assigned locker never kept anything important, she wasn't that worried about it. Her main anger was on her expensive uniform that was just thrown to the ground. That was the only thing that angered her. If she was lucky they won't empty out her backpack and it will only be her uniform.
" We are sick of this" Woobin took a step to the pile and kicked her uniform thrown at the top. So this was about that? she sighed as she noticed her backpack being placed at the corner. It was safe for now.
"Don't you have other clothes to wear?" Woobin asked as he used the tip of his shoes to move her towel away. The new towel she was excited about weeks ago was now accepting being stepped on as Woobin continued his steps across all her stuff .
" You don't have money for that?" Woobin asked.
" Doesn't sleeping with old men pay enough" he added as his minions started laughing.
" or does the money all go to your pimp?' her eyes away from him had shifted to the one that had started this all. His eyes that had been following her for weeks, she knew weren't for nothing as they had been the causes of the childish hell she was being forced to deal with. The rumor that she was an escort was because of him.
" Maybe she has debt. '' Yijeong, following her eyes, turned to look at Junpyo behind him. Junpyo who never cared about any of this type of stuff was not only staying behind to watch but being the one that initiated it should have been where the questions started. But none of them were crazy enough to think their so-called leader would ever be curious about any one let alone the mute escort girl. Yijeong had been the only one that registered the second long look the two exchanged.
" Maybe you need to sleep with more people" Woobin brought her attention back to him as she saw his hand heading to his pocket. Whatever weapon he might pull out she needs to be ready for the type of pain she will face.
" Threesomes, orgys, wouldn't they be pricer" he added as she had ignored his words and zoomed her eyes on his empty finger that left his pocket.
" Or some BDSM shitt" he added as his eyes went to one of the boys that started walking to all her stuff and started pouring the gas across all of it.
" I can get you some clients who might be interested in that" he added taking the step her way and blowing the white smoke at her face.
" You're young enough to get their attention," he added as he started walking around her. Scanning her up and down.
" they might pay good money for it" The track suit hiding her body was doing its job. For once she was thankful to be in the red baggy pants.
" What do you think?" he asked but as usual he got no response. He wasn't expecting any response at all anyway.
" She could work at one of your clubs" Yijeong gave woobin an idea he hadn't even though off.
" She is not pretty or sexy enough to" he responded while still processing what his friend had suggested.
" But I guess she would do it for some," he added.
"all i want is to not see your disgusting uniform again"
" I am sick and tired of it" headed as he took more steps away from her. His hand stretched out, she followed them to Junpyo sitting by the corner. The lighter in his right hand was thrown to Woobin, who in second would light up her items spread on the ground.
" Maybe this will force you to wear something new" he added as her angry eyes couldn't believe they really have just her stuff on fire. This was more aggravating than any punch they might have landed on her. Do these people really have nothing else to do to entertain them? Was humiliating and bullying those less fortunate than then who can't even dare to look at them that entertaining? What type of inhumanity is that?
"Calm down" the voice in her head tried to control the situation. Her eyes demonstrating the anger build up, she focused all her attention on Woobin. As a firm believer of an eye for an eye, she only needs a day or two to find something precious of his and burn it to ashes once she is done with this school.
" huh" Junpyo sighed as he recognized the hint of anger in her eyes but knew she wasn't crossing any lines. She wasn't that angry at what was happening. They needs to push further.
" Sorry for being late, I found it" one of the boys had walked in holding her boots. Her eyes shifted to what he was holding in her hands, it only took that one look at her eyes from Junpyo to know this might get a reaction out of her. Her famous boots she wore religiously, maybe this will do it.
" huh" he sighed as he signaled for the boy to bring it to him.
" What?" Yijeong was the only one that questioned why on earth Junpyo was getting involved. He nevered cared. He never cared to even watch let alone get involved. What is happening?
Her curious eyes had followed every step the boy carrying her beloved boots took towards Junpyo. The boots. The black boots she wore everywhere were more than just shoes. It was her armor. It was her super hero cape. It was the reminder for all that she had lost. A reminder of her life long mission she was still alive for. It was the most precious possession of hers, she had promised to wear until the last breath she took. It was the only thing left to remind her of the past. Her emotions she was always in control of had escaped for a second as lost control of the anger and worry her eyes were displaying.
The boots placed by his feet, Junpyo only needed a second long look at her eyes to know this was it. The emotions he could read across her face was enough to let him know, these boots were more than just a pair of shoes for her. His right hand sent to his pocket had pulled out the box cutter he had made sure to grab form Jihoo's office before they came her.
" Don't touch it" Woobin was the only one that seemed worried about Junpyo who wasn't planning on touching the shoes to begin with. He kicked the boots down to land on the side. His dark green snake skin boots were placed on top of hers as he sent his right hand carrying the box cutter to her shoes.
" It's not even real leather" Woobin and his goons were the only ones filled with smiles as the sharp cutter started cutting the sides of the boots. Every vertical line the box cutter followed down her boots, was scratched against her dark heart filled with hatred that didn't even have any more space left. His right hand forced the box cutter across the worn out boots, that was all she needed to force her exhausted heart to create a space, a special space. The unbothered look on his face, she took a mental picture of was placed as the tag for that special place. For an immature act he had deemed nothing, his name was just added to her list.
" Come on" Junpyo had whispered as he was assured he had hit the right spot as the anger on her face was beyond visible. Her fiery eyes were fuming as they stayed glued to him. With every cut he forced against the worn out boots, her eyes flickered almost as an immediate reaction. The girl he didn't know well, he had no idea the line he was crossing as he wasn't even able to understand the dark emotions her eyes were displaying as he had considered it all to be anger but no. Anger was the least powerful emotion she was processing as everything was shut off and she was forced to stand there. Yet again losing something precious to her.
Cut throat time - the darkness that controls her sanity had ordered as she was reminded of her favorite weapon in her backpack. Their blood splattered across the dark corner, was beyond appealing as the darkness started taking over her. His skin she could peel off as precisely as the snake skin his shoes was made of, the voice convinced her to cross the line and show them her fury. You could have him be the last- the voice whispered as it was fighting to take control over her body that was in seconds awakened from the exhaustion and pain it was processing. All the ways she could slice open their thorates as she saves him to be the last one was fighting to gain her consciousness. Fortunately for the boys the dark voice was being drowned by emotions she never even gave herself permission to process.
The years she had wasted with no result to show for the pain she had been living with. The cost she had paid for something that had proven to be worth nothing. The darkness she lived with amounted to nothing. There was no better symbolism of her life as her most precious worn out boots being slit left and right while being forced against the mud by a spoiled billionaire's shoes that cost more than her life savings. She really should have just jumped off that abridge years ago.
" Those are useless now" Woobins words went in one ear and out the other as her eyes stayed on her boots. Junpyo, pulling a napkin from his pocket, grabbed her torn boots. His steps towards the wide fire were followed by her eyes which he was getting a better view of.
" Bye bye" Woobin whispered as his minions started laughing. Junpyo's right hand finally let go of his grip as the boots along with the napkin headed to the fire pit.
" wow" Woobin took a step back as one of the boy added more gas and the fire lifted up.
" That's scary '' Woobin's words were ignored as Junpyo's eyes shifted to the girl who he now had a good view of, standing only a few steps away from him.
Maybe it was the fire burning high between them that had given her a glow as he focused his eyes on her face. The golden light of the fire added to the brown eyes of hers, Junpyo was lost in trying to figure out what she was thinking about as her eyes were focused on her boots that were burning. The small movement he noticed as she bit her tongue was mistaken for holding back her anger but it was holding back all the dark emotions she swallowed down. Maybe it was the smoke, his mind unable to accept what it was being forced to process lied to itself as it registered her watering eyes.
His confused eyes that went down to her fingers she forced into a fist, his mind had done it again as it took it as her anger was getting ready to boil. His six senses that were taking it all knew it wasn't anger but he didn't have the words or consciousness to recognize what he was processing as he witnessed the pain she was causing herself as she dug her nails into her own palms.
"Come one," he whispered again as he waited for her to cross the line. Neither him or Woobin wear that far away from her to land some punches and kicks before Woobin's goon even try to hold her back or attack her. They were right there.
"Come on" he added as he waited for any reaction. He needed to get a reaction out of her.
" What the FUCK is going on?" Jihoo's voice all the way from the hallway echoed across the space. The few seconds they had left before he got to them, Junpyo waited for any reaction but there was none. Her eyes didn't even lift away from the fire as Woobin walked to her side and stood in her space.
" Expecting to see you in new cloth next week" he gave her a small smile.
" Maybe you need this" his left hand pulled out from his pocket brought out some new notes.
" Get yourself something nice for us to see" he gave her another smile as he threw the money at her face. The money that landed on her face was ignored as they headed for the muddy ground. She wasn't even in the same reality as the words being sent her way as she stood there frozen in time.
" What the FUCK is this?' Jihoo's loud questions didn't get any answer as Woobin's minions followed their leader that started leading the way.
" We're still doing this?" he asked
" Calm down, nobody did anything to her' Woobin gave his friend a smile.
" You don't need to act like a nice guy to sleep with her , Just pay her" Woobin added silencing everything Jihoo was going to say.
" It's all fun. Why are you so serious?' Yijeong added as he tapped at Jihoo's side.
" This is fun?"
" We are not 15 anymore '' The fight between the three was ignored By Junpyo, who hasn't shifted his focus from the girl that looked frozen.
She looked horrified.
She looked crushed.
She looked sick. Almost about to throw up.
She looked furious. The hint of the red blood peaking from her tightly held fist, Junpyo's eyes were pulled in as they were forced to shift back to her face. He didn't even have control over his eyes which she was directing to wherever she wanted them to focus on. He wasn't even aware of it but his curiosity had landed him to hand over full control the moment her watery eyes pulled at a string he didn't even know existed. Although he doesn' even know how to process or understand her silent and invisible weeping that lasted a minute; his so-called "cold" heart had dug him his own grave as it had forced him to be the only one to witness it.
She was only given a minute to feel whatever pain he had caused her. That was the most luxurious thing she ever got. A minute long space to feel the gut wrenching pain he had poked at. Her tear filled eyes in seconds had turned storming and vicious as they left the fire and landed on him.
Her world he had frozen, the favor was returned as her manically alluring eyes, now engulfed by the gold light of the fire, forced his whole being out of the space they were occupying. Placed in a place where all the sound around them was zoned out, where none of the cold wind brushing against their skin was even felt, it was just the two of them. It was just the dazed Junpyo and the girl who he had forced to say goodbye to her most precious possession she would have sold her soul let alone body to keep.
"Huh" the deep breath he took was the last thing he sensed as he was numbed and immobilized by the clear and loud words her eyes were screaming.
The devil in her that was ready to jump out was shut down as an echo of her moms voice whispered at her ear.
" These are perfect for you," the soft whisper of her mother was what had saved all the boys around her as the pain she had tried to swallow finally wins and takes over her defeated body. She didn't have control over the darkness that was taking over as even her fingers opened up. Everything was turning black as she took her first step away. She needs to get away.
She needs to get away before she loses it all.
She needs to escape before she loses her mind.
All the shocked eyes that followed her steps were ignored as she picked her backpack and headed towards the other empty hallway that would lead to the garden after a few buildings.
The first tear that rolled down her burning cheek was wiped away by her bleeding palm.
No matter how much she screamed at herself to stop, it was too useless.
No matter how much she pinched at her tongue the tears rolling down had finally won.
Thankfully the dark hallway she was walking in was as dark as the emotions that had taken over her body. The tiny hint of light she was walking towards was becoming hard to see thanks to the tears gushing down her cheeks.
Was there really light at the end of all of this darkness?
Was there really a way out of this darkness?
The answer might have been jumping off that bridge. She should have done that. That was the light at the end of the tunnel she was provided.
Now all she had left was endless darkness.
Endless darkness and pain until she leaves the living world and heads towards the Gods that had crushed her existence. That was the day she was looking forward to. The day she would get to ask God why her? Why so merciless towards her?
One thing was for sure, before that day came, all that had caused her the pain that had turned her to a walking dead zombie would receive her precious gift of revenge which she will serve cold.
