Thank you all for the wonderful and encouraging comments. I love all of them :) It will be interesting to see if you will change your mind about some of the characters as you get to know them more.
Be ready in 30 minutes - the text she got from Bom, Jandi put the last touches of her make up as she headed down stairs and started packing her purse that she was told not to pack any metal object in. Tonight being just for the introduction, she hadn't even done much make up as she just decided to go with dark eyes and red lips which in the dark club they will be in will look good. The club she would be searched to get into, none of her weapons were coming with her today as he placed her lipstick and make-up wipes in the private clubs she had heard about a few times, she knew the drill already. No weapons. No cell service. No outside drugs being brought in. No entrance to people that weren't on a list. The fact that she was getting a pre event, she knew to use every opportunity to scan the palace and prepare for tomorrow night. Her job is to entertain and get all the information she needs out of the men that are paying a good sum of money to have her and other girls accompany their fancy dinner and party on Friday night. Considering how high up the men were, it makes sense why the girls would be required to be checked before the event. Which was why Jandi was texted to get ready to attend an event tonight to introduce herself.
The well-compensated ears Bom had around the dangerous nightclubs scenes of the town, he was the first to hear about the event on Friday night and the young girls that were requested.
" we need one of your girls to cover for something '' the man enjoying the tea sitting next to him whispered.
" She needs to be at our bar to meet the other girls tomorrow around 8" sipping his tea, he kept his eyes on the children playing in the park they were sitting across from. His eyes that never even turned towards Bom sitting next to him and reading the newspaper, the two men didn't even look like they were talking to each other, let alone knew each other.
" Serious clients and you know how these guys are so no funny business"
" they are paying good money to have them for the night" The tea cup he was using to hide his moving lips the man went on talking.
" Everything is on here" he whispered as he placed the napkin he faked to clean his hands with on the bench.
" See you at the bar" he added as he picked the book next to the napkin he placed and left the bench. His tea he was enjoying, he didn't even turn around as he headed to his car parked across the street. All the information on the napkin, was texted immediately to Jandi who was told to get ready for Friday night and pre run on Thursday night.
Glancing at the watch on the wall, she knew Bom was probably a few minutes away from their home he was picking her up from. Her heels she tied carefully, she stood up and placed her coat on. Like she estimated, he was early as she heard the soft honk of his car. Tonight planned to be just a pre run, Ctrl busy with making dinner hadn't even wished her good luck as they shouted bye and she left the house. The black car she got into, she picked up the drink Bom got for her while he started the car.
" This taste funny?" she complained, turning her eyes to the man waiting for her reaction to start laughing.
" Did you ask them to add the disgusting protein again?" she asked, sending her left hand to slap his arm.
" It's good for you" smiling ear to ear , he wasn't even trying to move his arm she was slapping away from her. Her annoyed face was too cute as they started arguing with the drink she was excited about. Placing it down, she took his. His complaint she ignored, she continues taking sips of his. His right hand leaving the steering wheel came to fight for his drink but failed to grab his drink.
" focus on driving" slapping his hand Jandi pointed at the small road they were on.
" She's right. focus on the road" the person that slapped the back of the car, both glanced out the window by her side.
" Where are you two going?" Mrs Kim, leaning down, asked. The lady who should be getting ready for dinner service at the restaurant, both were confused to see her.
" I was bringing your dinner," she added, lifting the bags in her hand.
" Ctrl is cooking dinner"
" She has a job" Bom was the one that answered the lady's questioning eyes.
" I thought it was tomorrow"
" Just an introduction thing," he added as he leaned forward and tried to make out the food in the bag she was carrying.
" Do you have"
" Yess" before he even asked the lady responded as she sent her left hand into the bag and passed the box that had the kimchi pancake she makes for Bom, which he loves.
" You too, have some food" the lady passed another box with the dumplings that were left over.
" How's that rich boy?" the lady, knowing exactly what she was doing, asked. Her eyes from the startled Jandi, followed the girl's eyes to Bom. Her hyong she respected and feared too much, it was adorable to see the girl freak out when even the mention of boys happens in front of Bom.
" He is so handsome, you should give him a chance you know" the lady added as she caught Jandi's shocked eyes shifting to Bom again.
" I just work with him" she tried to reason but it was no use. The lady smiling and shaking her head at her, Jandi knew she was just trying to annoy her.
" If I were you, I would be using him and enjoying the luxury before all the craziness happiness "
" We have serious things to do," Bom jumped in. Both knew he wasn't going to tolerate even talking about Jandi being with anybody let alone anybody that goes to that school. He was beyond protective of his best prodigy that most claimed was just like him. Some even believe they are siblings. His crazy protectiveness by itself was enough to assume that.
" Of course " the lady winked at Jandi.
" I will be back" Bom added as he started driving the car.
" Can you bring some sweets on your way back?" the lady shouted at the car.
" I just work for him, '' Jandi , hiding behind the dumpling she was enjoying whispered.
" I didn't ask" Bom greeted the man by the corner, his eyes focused on the road. The people stepping out of his way, he was getting nodes here and there as they drove though their neighborhood and landed on the main road. The black car that stopped by the edge of the main road they joined. The man that walked to Bom's side, Jandi , peaked her ears to hear what he had to say.
" What's up" Bom lowering his window and keeping his eyes on the police car that passed asked.
" Sunday, we are up for the game right?" the man standing by the driver side window but keeping his eyes on the road asked.
" As usual" Bom responded as he glanced at the paper the man was holding.
" They are moving weight at the sea port" she read the words as quickly as she could before lifting her eyes to the dumpling.
" Are we playing soccer?" Bom asked as Jandi tries to recall what the code soccer stood for.
" I think , baseball would be appropriate" the man finally looking their way gave her a smile.
" Don't worry about the flys, we have them covered'' The man returning his eyes to the police car that was parked by the corner whispered. His smiling eyes returned to Jandi.
" That looks delicious" his smile she reciprocated she brought the box his way and offered him some. Bom leaning back let the man grab a piece.
" Good luck tonight , girl" the man gave her a wink as he tapped the side of the car and started walking away.
" Thank you" Jandi, giving him smiles, focused her eyes on the paper he placed in the middle of the book he had in his hands. The street cafe he was returning to, Jandi noticed the man sitting at the table he joined. Her inquisitive mind bothering her, she tried to not ask but it only lasted a few minutes.
" what's going on sunday?" she asked using the fork to pick a piece and send it to Bom. The dumpling he accepted, his eyes were focused on the police car they passed. The two bullet proof vested officers had their eyes on the car that was passing them. Bom's sharp eyes zoomed in on them, they had made out both him and the girl enjoying their dumplings. His car they stop every other day for 'random search' Bom was used to the routine as he waited to see if they would turn on their blinker and have him pull over. Lucky for him, they didn't. One of the officers had even given him a sign to go. Jandi, catching the finger sign, remembered what the man said minutes ago. The police officer they called fly, he had told them he had them covered already.
" don't worry about Sunday. Worry about tomorrow" he whispered as he stepped on the gas. The drive to join the freeway was filled with silence as they enjoyed their food. Jandi, wasting some minutes to think about what he could be working on for Sunday, needed the silence. The weight they were talking about being drugs, she knew that was one area he didn't involve her in. She had her role and so did everybody else. The dangerous playgrounds of drugs they had to get involved in just to search for names of the people they were looking for, it was one area that was off limits to the girl that was informed about everything the other teams were doing.
Once they joined the freeway, and a good 40 minutes of drive later the road turns wider and the city starts turning into the glamorous one every one sees in posters. Both enjoying the quiet drive, couldn't even believe that it was another 40 minutes as he pulled over at the bar.
"Lets go" Bom, giving a nod to the security guards standing by the bar, whispered. Following his lead, they headed into the back office of the bar. The man waiting for them , greeted both warmly. He didn't stop thanking Bom for covering for him and having a girl ready at such a quick notice. She is perfect- the man scanning Jandi passed Bom the envelope before directing her to the changing room the other girls were in.
"text me when you leave the club so I can be here by the time you get here" Bom gave her a small smile.
" Don't drink too much and don't be anxious," he added. The man standing next to him has also given her a smile which she responded with a small bow.
" Don't worry, we always take care of the girls" the man gave Bom a big smile as he started walking him out of his office.
" You know about the loan we talked about last time" the man who had bigger issues to discuss with Bom had missed the wink he sent to Jandi before they walked out the room. Right when the men left the room, his assistant had turned to Jandi and started leading her to the changing room.
" the others are there, make yourself comfortable until the car gets here" the assistant commanded. Giving her a bow, Jandi walked into the messy room. The five girls in the room all turned to the door she walked into.
" hello" she greeted them and got smiles from all. The two by the mirror returned to fixing their make up as Jandi decided to sit by the corner. It was the perfect palace to analyze all the girls in the room.
" I am jenny" the girl standing by the coat hanger sent her hand to Jandi.
" Jessica" Jandi introduced herself by the alias name she was given for the night.
" I've never seen you before," the girl added as she sent her hand to adjust Jandi's hair. The girl that didn't even look like she was 16, Jandi just gave her a smile as she noticed she would be the easiest one to interrogate.
" I am new, you" Jandi asked, thanking the girl for helping her with her hair. Her eyes from the cheerful one by her side landed on the one busily tapping at her phone.
" Oh, I'm not new. These clients tip well so just smile a lot" The girl sitting next to Jandi started sharing her tips. The two fixing their makeup looks just as young as Jandi made out their excitement at the cute stickers on the mirror. The gold bracelets they had on, she was able to quickly recognize where they came from. The Dark Angel gang that runs the line of famous clubs in the west end of town, the girls they marked with gold bracelets, it was easy to tell where the two came from. The girls she would do everything to save from the hell they were living in, Jandi knew that wasn't her job. That had never been her job or their goal. The important question that she was risking her life to find was where Dark Angel gets these girls. The most lucrative business of trafficking, selling, and marketing young girls, the clubs that did it weren't where she was positioned to spy on but their suppliers. Her job was to spy and report, there was a whole armed team that would deal with rescuing anybody, if she reports a code red.
The 15-16-year-old girls giggling in the room she scanned all, examining for any scars, bruises, and the general state of their bodies. It hurts but she knew she would not be reporting code red tonight. The gut-wrenching scenes she had seen in the hidden corners of the city, it was shocking that these girls that couldn't even legally consent to anything happening tonight were considered not high risk to be given a chance to escape the dark world they were trying to make sense of with their giggles. All she could do was pray there was somebody else that could save them. It wasn't a job for her team that rescues the most in danger and even then it has to be life and death situations. "If you want to save all, you have to find the people behind it all and eliminate them" had been the message she received to keep her focused ot the larger picture.
" Do you know who I am covering for '' Jandi, sending her hands to adjust the necklace of the girl next to her, asked. The soft smiles she was sending the girl, Jandi, was being strategic about where she started digging for information.
" They said she was sick because"
" Why do you care?" the one typing on the phone interrupted asking. All eyes landed on Jandi.
" Just asking, '' Jandi knew that one was the leader of the group. Probably has done this longer than the other girls as well.
" didn't they tell you asking questions is a no-no here"
" Just do your job and go back to where you came from" the girl added, signaling the one sitting next to Jandi to move away. Left alone to sit by the corner, Jandi focused on coming up with another strategy. She needs to be careful.
By the time they wrapped up the small dinner they were provided and headed to the club, Jandi had taken mental note of every one that was part of the team. The black suv they were being transported in, she didn't recognize the back of the underground club they were brought to. The security they had to go through, they were all patted down. The VIp section held for the men that were waiting for them. Jandi had made sure to scan every exit of the dance floor before they started heading up to the first floor. Alwayse choosing to sit with no one behind her, she had chosen to sit by the seat against the balcony. Lucky for her the older man she was seated next to seemed interested in her and didn't ask her to switch. His exploring hand she wasn't even paying attention to; she was focused on the drinks she had to pour and her smiles she had to execute well. She knew she had to be liked to be invited for the main event Tomorrow so she was playing her cards right as she kept tapping the man and fake laughing at his weird Jokes. His right hand placed on her thigh, exposed thanks to the miniskirt she had on, Jandi preferred that than his hand on her back. There was something about her back that she never liked being touched by the men she had dreams about killing with her bare hands.
Her body that was trained and was ordered to shut down from reacting to any touches tonight, she was playing along and inviting every other touch but the one on her back. The kisses the man was placing on her neck, even that was okayed than his hands he kept placing on her back. The drinks she went on pouring, thankfully he was getting more drunk as she was able to keep moving his hands away from her lap and land them on her leg. His hand moved to her back again, Jandi had turned around to grab it when her eyes landed on the table at the corner of the club below. While her hands gently started pushing the man's hand away from her; past the glimmering red light and dark room, her careful eyes made out Junpyo sitting on the table and the girl that just put her hands through his sleeve. The old man's hand she placed on her thigh, Jandi sent her baffled eyes back to the table below. Junpyo's whole attention on the girl that started playing with her hair and whispering at his ear, Jandi was catching every movement of the girl rubbing on the boy who officially has a girlfriend. That wasn't even where her intrigue was coming from.
Her eyes slowly following the girl's hand that started playing with his shirt she put her hands through, Jandi was baffled to find him in a place like this. For a second, She had forgotten about the reason she hated his guts. Of course he would have access to this place. This was a playground for powerful men and the boy being raised to be the most powerful of them all, of course he would be here. Above the men that had to hide in the underworld, he was in a different bracket as Jandi was reminded of how he probably was the richest person in the room and his last name the most powerful one of anybody here. The realization she was making was silenced as she was forced to take in the girl that landed on his lap. All the crazy things she had seen and been part of in the dark corners of these private clubs, Jandi didn't know why she was surprised by what she was witnessing. The fake laugh she was giving the man next to her, her eyes returned to the table below to catch the girl that landed her lips on Jun pyo's.
The flickering red light matching the beat of the song drumming through the palace, Jandi's bemused eyes were at a loss as they couldn't even look away from the attractive bodies of the two people with the interlocked lips. Her eyes should have turned away. She didn't know why she kept them on Junpyo who, closing his eyes, was enjoying the girl who's shifted the focus of her lips to his neck. The next time the flashing lights landed on him, Jandi made out his startled eye that had noticed her. The girl grinding against him and placing her kisses on his neck fazed out of Jandi's view as her eyes focused on his, looking straight at her.
One
Two
Three - both were given three seconds to register what was happening before she turned her eyes back to the VIP table she was in while Junpyo's was attention was being pulled to the girl that landed her lips back on him. His hand he slowly pulled away from her dress he had slid his hand to, the girl didn't question that as she focused on his lips that were responding to her kiss. But it didn't take long for her to notice his participation was radically different and even coming to a stop as she lifted her lips away from him.
" Oppa what's wrong?" she asked her hand cupping his face.
" Nothing" the small smile of his , she didn't catch his eyes that lifted to the VIP table above before it quickly returned back to her.
" I can test the chapmi" her whisper that accompanied her lips that returned to his ear, Junpyo hadn't even heard anything she said as he returned his eyes up. The girl in the black dress, who's side profile he got a glimpse of, there was no mistaking her for anybody but the same girl that told him to fuck off hours earlier. His eyes from the dark dress she had on, turned to the man sitting next to her, who she rested her head against. The tug he felt across his body, he blamed the girl kissing his ear, who just placed her hand back in his hair. His attention she had lost minutes ago, the girl had no idea that her time with him was done.
" Can you" before he even lifted his hands to move her body away from him, he pulled his head away from her.
" I just" he added as he sent both his hands to free his hair from her hands he pushed to herself.
" What's wrong?" she asked, leaning down and trying to catch his eyes he was moving around.
" I need to use the bathroom" he found the right excuse as he gave her another fake smile while brushing some of his hair she had pulled out, back behind his ear.
" I can come with you" giving him a wink she tried to return her lips to his neck.
" No, please" he moved his body away as he slowly pushed her off his lap.
" Sorry" brushing his hair, he stood up. Not even giving her any explanation he picked his jacket up and left the table.
Jandi, who had missed the interaction, the next time she returned her eyes to the table it was empty. The man handing her the coat she had placed on the other side, she gave him a big smile. The main event being tomorrow, they have called it a night as the men had decided to head to the cars waiting for them. Continuing with her fake smiles at the man holding her waist, Jandi focused her attention on the exit they were taking. Once the men left, the girls were collected to be taken back to the bar but Jandi found the right excuse claiming she has another job and chose to stay behind. She made sure the van that brought left before she walked back into the all the exits to the bathrooms, it took her about 15 minutes to make sure she knew everything about the place. Every camera, every security , she had counted and counted again to make sure everything was right. By the time she was done, she had chosen to use the back door, making her less suspicious. Her goal is to exit the club and head to the station 7 minutes away. She needs to catch the last bus that will take her to the train station.
"Huh" she took a deep breath as she took in the gush of wind that started attacking her body the moment she walked from the door and started her long walk though the parking lot that she's hoping will lead to the main road. Her phone she was busily typing on, She hadn't noticed the line of luxury cars that were parked in the space. The soft breeze of the day that has turned into a cold wind once the night passes midnight. Jandi holding her coat closer to her body only covered by the dress and then the coat she had one, quickened her steps. The shoes she can't wait to take off her feet, she was trying not to pay attention to her bare legs that were being attacked by the cold. The strong wind fighting the dark clouds nobody can see were signaling the coming of the heavy rain the weathermen have been predicting for days. Focused on getting out of here, Jandi hadn't even seen the trees that were fighting to stand tall against the wind pushing them left and right.
" Interesting?" She heard a voice that seemed familiar as she raised her startled eyes from her phone to the cars parked on the left where she heard the sound come from. Her careful eyes looking for any sign caught the shadow of a person standing by the black car. The white smoke of the cigarette he was smoking was what she caught as she waited for him to continue with the step he was taking and to come into the light that was aimed at the car he was standing against.
" Does Jihoo know about this?" Just as she caught the right hand brushing the hair away from the face that was still in the dark, she recognized the raspy voice. She focused her startled eyes on the person she was waiting to show his face. His leather jacket zipped all the way up, Junpyo stepped into the light. Her eyes avoiding his left hand that pulled the cigarette away from his lips, she focused on his eyes that didn't look that intoxicated. Him being drunk was one of the assumptions she had made which she now wasn't sure about. Her second assumption, him leaving with the girl was also disapproved as there seems to be nobody else around him.
"Does your girlfriend know about that?" Jandi asked as she placed her phone down and focused all her attention on Jun Pyo. His right hand sent to his hair that was flying, Junpyo stood against the back of his car. His right hand tucking his flying hair into the hair tie, Jandi regretted that her eyes were pulled lower, to his jacket and shirt that lifted up exposing a tiny glimpse of his skin she had seen the girl caressing. Letting out a deep sigh, she turned her eyes away to the path she needed to take.
" know about what?" he asked as her eyes returned to him. She paused her legs that were about to take a step away. Her annoyed eyes focusing on him, it was easy to tell that he knew exactly what she was talking about.
" What do you want?" placing her phone in her coat pocket, she turned her whole attention his way. The irritation that took over was providing some heat to her body that was fighting the cold of the night.
" You don't like answering my questions do you?" Junpyo threw the cigarette down and stepped on it. The cold he enjoys very much, he wasn't bothered by it unlike her small body that needs more fat to handle such a cold attacking her bare skin. Nomatter how much relife her skin will ask for, it will not get any. She was used to being in pain. It is her natural state of being. She was so used to that, comfort is actually what feels weird.
" Why don't you tell him?" she asked, thinking maybe just maybe she can get to the bottom of why he never tells his friends any of the things he knows about her. He was at least a bit drunk, she had thought. He might share his reasons, she hoped. It is possible she might even be able to get to what he plans to do to her, but she hasn't thought of that yet.
" Why would I tell him?" choosing to be as annoying as her , Jun Pyo responded with his own question. Maybe it was the corner light that just turned on that had added to the beautiful low light of the moon that was on the girl standing a distance away from him. No flickering light to distract him, he got a clear view of her face now decorated with makeup. There was a reason she saves her makeup face for her work, Junpyo assumed as he made out how different it made her look. Used to seeing her bare face, she looked a bit odd with the heavy make up she had on. But her clients being such old men, it made sense. Before his mind even went to the men she was with and her clients, he shut it all down. He had spent the last half an hour trying to make sense of the girl sleeping with those old hags for money, which had evaporated all the alcohol he had consumed to not think about.
" don't you find joy in running people's lives?" she asked, trying to hide how bothered she was by his honest eyes that were scanning her face. The makeup she had on, she just questioned if it looked odd.
" Do I?" he asked, leaning left to see what she's doing with her purse she opened.
" You seem happy burning people stuff" pulling the makeup remover she sent both her hands to her lips she started aggressively whipping the red lipstick away from.
" I said sorry" the boy that stepped away from the car he was leaning against, she ignored as she focused on the weird smile his response forced on her face. He seems annoyed.
" Did you?" pausing her hands that were removing any hint of the red paint on her lips she asked, hiding her smile behind the makeup remover .
" all I remember is the joy you found in it" as she brought the wipe away from her lips. The look in her eyes had immediately shifted back to her anger, just thinking about it was instigating.
" Do I seem that happy?" he asked, catching the girl that wasn't ready or willing to think about him in any way other than hate, off guard. Her eyes forced to pay attention to him, she stood in silence not wanting to answer his question. As though he was unmasking his face, his right hand brushing the hair that covered his face away went in slow motion. The dark hair removed out of their view, her eyes found their unusual target, his stone cold face and huntingly puzzling eyes she can't seem to figure out.
" Huh" the smirk that escaped his lips, Junpyo was the one that removed his eyes away from her as he sent his right hand to his hair and turned right.
" What do you want?" Jandi asked. Her anxiety showing its first stage as her fingers started fidgeting. She didn't like the odd and uncomfortable space his question and honest eyes that displayed the answer placed her in. She doesn't need to know why or be bothered by it. She just needs to get away from this jerk. These spoiled assholes she doesn't know very well, she can't put it past him that is just some trick used to just to avenge the slap he received.
" You keep asking as though you can give me anything" his voice. The soft voice that hit her ears along with the aching eyes that turned her way, Jandi recognized how she wasn't in control of what was happening as her legs that wanted to escape were immobilized, asked to stay a second longer. The alcohol be consumed playing with his filters and consciousness, Junpyo wasn't in control of what was happening either.
" You have everything and want more?" She asked, smirking. Known to go on defense mode when in an uncomfortable situation; she had chosen to poke and attack lightly. It was the easiest way to be incharge of the conversation she needed to end and leave as soon as possible.
" Bullying and torchering people wasn't enough '' she added, sending her hands to her pockets. His right hand brushing his hair , she caught the small smile that escaped his lips as his face turned towards her. If she could, she would have loved to walk up to him and slap the smile off his face. She swallowed her wishes and stood there recalling her slaps. The memory of it was enough .
" I said sorry" the hint of annoyance she could make in his voice. She enjoyed that. It was bringing her a tiny joy to know that she can annoy him enough to ruin his night.
" was I supposed to bow down and accept that too" she signaled a bow by lowering her head.
" That's not" he silenced himself. Both his hands went to his hair, Junpyo took a deep breath and turned around closing his eyes that needed a second. To Jandi, who has been trained to observe people's behavior to guess the emotional state they were in, observing what was happening in front of her was second nature and something she didn't have control over. His hands he sent to his leather jacket pocket, she ignored and focused her eyes on his face. The strands of hair he placed behind his ear had escaped and started flying left , some covering his melancholy face she didn't even want to see. She wasn't sure if there were any words she wanted to say or if there was anything to say, as silence took over the cold distance between them. His dark and crestfallen eyes didn't seem like they had even blinked as they stared back at her. His flying hair, she blamed the flying hair and the elusive moonlight for keeping her captive, puzzled by all the unsaid words.
"Tell him if you want to," she whispered as she turned around and started her walk. She needs to leave. The heels she had on plus the cold weather that had forced her legs to respond to it had finally slowed her down from the speed walk she wanted to use to get away from here. The questions she had thought she could find an answer for, they didn't even matter any more. There is a reason her intuition always orders her to stay away from him. Holding her coat closer , she quickened her steps. She needed only a minute to shut down any and all emotions, as she focused on the text she sent to Bom that she might be a bit late to arrive at the train station he will be waiting for her. As she placed her phone in the pocket, she caught the light coming behind her. Choosing to let the car leave, She took some steps to the left and stood still.
"Jerk" she whispered as she saw the black car and quickly recognized the man in the driver seat. The smooth car was beyond silent as it drove past her and sped up towards the gate of the huge parking space. As she started her steps, her eyes stayed on the car driving away. The man next to the exit gate had stood up and gave the black car a bow before the car joined the main road and disappeared out of her view. People bowing down to him wasn't a surprising sight but being a respected customer of such a place was another thing she added to the list of things she hated about him. Unfortunately she didn't have that much time to ponder on the list as the tiny drop of water on her head got her attention. Finally forced to recognize the strong wind and dark clouds, Jandi quicked he steps as she hugged her coat even closer. She needs to quicken the walk that was supposed to take 7 minutes to get to the bus stop.
The tiny water drops falling far in between, the wind was getting even stronger as it started trying to pull at her coat and the flowy dress it was covering. By the time she got to the gate even the security guard sitting in the small office had warned her to be careful of the wind and heavy rain predicted for the night.
" You should just call a taxi. It is going to pour" the security man had shouted looking at the girl who just gave him a smile and continued her walk.
" It's going to pour, girl " he yelled while standing up. The girl that didn't even stop, just continued her walk past the gate and the main road.
" Suit yourself" he whispered as he sat back down. The empty main road she joined, Jandi had looked up to not even see a single person walking . The empty street didn't even have any building that she could run into. It was all storage and warehouses. The tall trees lining the long empty street, Jandi decided to be careful walking to the swinging trees that could fall down or be struck by the lighting that started screaming. The rain drops that started attacking faster, she wasn't bothered and even welcomed the rain drops. There was something about walking in the rain she found therapeutic. What she didn't like was the strong wind and cold. The anguish and pain buried inside, a rainy night always felt like the safest space to sit in the misery of her life. Once or twice, the tear drops she never shows anybody had even escaped her eyes while she walked letting the heavy rain wash over her.
Her body held tight, she welcomed the heavy rain drops that started attacking. The heavens that weren't found of her, she saw it as their way of giving her some space to just be. The water attacking her already cold body, it didn't take much to pass through the fabric of the coat and dress and reach her skin. The empty road with no hint of even a car passing by, her eyes were focused on that as she continued her slowed down steps. The strands of wet hair escaping the thight bun started sticking to her face as she kept her head low, her eyes on the pavement that water drops were attacking. The piercing pain of her skin was silenced as it turned numb to it all. The stinging coming from inside was the one she couldn't numb out as every discomfort of her physical body was numbed out.
The dark voices that were always a moment of ache away, started whispering as they forced her reminisce in how most people were probably enjoying a lovely evening with their families, or tucked in their warm beds, or enjoying some warm food. The lack of memory she had to reminisce over, that always pinches at a darker spot which she immediately silenced. The one that reminds her that she was a lost soul; bound to have a life of agony in solitude, that one became the loudest as it hinted at the lack of so called family that would worry if she was okay and will make it home.
Was there even a home to get back to?
The heavens that have cursed her with this life, they never fail at reminding her the soul she was given which she had deemed unlovable before she could even define the term. Accepting that, had made it so easy to become who she was now. She didn't need any of it anyway. To the girl who doesn't even want to live, all the crazy things that come with wanting anything was an elusive dream that will only cause her more pain. It was one of the first lessons she learned. If you never want anything, never attach yourself to anything or anyone, they can never take anything away from you, Bom had drilled it into her head. The world that had stripped and robbed her of everything before she even turned 10, there was nothing she wanted from it. No kindness, no empathy, no love, no warmth, not even civility does she expect from anybody. She has a goal to accomplish with her life and there was no room for anything else. The harsh world had time after time proved to be just cruel to her so why even give it a chance to break her heart again. That was how her trauma worked; locking her heart behind hard metal gates after only being alive for ten years. The evil of the world she had experienced and witnessed enough times to even count, she had learned not to wish for anything or anyone to save her from the misery. There was no one. There was going to be no one. It was her and the dark voices that have never left her side. It was that until she accomplished her purpose and then vanish into the unknown for her next life or eternal sleep.
" Huh" she took a deep breath as she kept her eyes on the road. Her young heart that has been begging for mercy for a decade, was only allowed to feel things whenever she hides herself away from the world. When alone, in complete solitude, is when she lets the voices whisper the thoughts buried in the dark corners of her mind. The cold water washing over her, she gave herself a single moment of tenderness. A moment to realize she was alive. Like those she lived around, was just a human. Filled with so much pain and anger but still just a mere human. A tiny human that wouldn't even know what to do with anything the world might send her way that wasn't just more agony or curliety.
Beep - The sound that vibrated through the water drops and reached her ears, she turned her startled and scared eyes to the car that was by the edge of the pavement she was walking on. Past the raindrops, she focused on the car to make out if it was the same black car that drove past her minutes ago. She knew it was but needed confirmation. Her hands that were bruised in her pocket, her fingers that had been scratching at her skin stopped the moment she accepted who was in the expensive car one couldn't' mistake for anybody else's.
The wild thoughts still running through her mind and her body that he needs to revert back to her robotic state, Jandi needed a minute or two to even handle why the hell he was here. More importantly she needed to shut her heart that was given a moment, to get back to its cage, guarded and locked behind the metal gates that protect it at all times. Her eyes focused on the car, she caught the passenger door that opened slightly before the soft click of the door reached her ears. The driver she couldn't see thanks to the distance between them, Jandi stood still unable to understand what he was doing. Her eyes locked on the passenger door that was left open, she might not have caught it but the moment was saved right before everything was shut down and her anger and ready to fight mode was placed back on, as usual.
"Huh" she sighed as she pulled her hands out of her pocket and brushed her wet hair away from her face. One, two she took a deep breath as she started calculating what to do and decided to ignore him. Her steps she quickened were halted when she heared another click. The car she left behind, she was fighting not to turn back but failed as her eyes turned around to see him step out of the car. Turning her eyes back on the road , she started her steps that would be paused again.
" Get in," Junpyo commanded. The rain drops attacking him were ignored as he focused on the wet girl that was walking away. Her legs that stopped when she heard his voice, started walking away again. His hand tapping at the top of his car, Junpyo was reminded of how she doesn't listen. She is frustrating.
" Why are you hard headed, just get in" his right hand sent to brush his hair getting wet, he asked again. She didn't even stop let alone listen to him.
" or I can just call Jihoo to come pick you up" the smile that escaped his lips were adding to his frustration as he caught her legs stop walking when she heard the name Jihoo. Her eyes that turned his way, Junpyo gave her some time to think of the option she wants to chose.
" God," he whispered, brushing his hair. The fact that he had to revert to threatening her to even have her listen to him, she was so annoying. His eye returning to her waited for her response which she provided with her body that turned his direction and the slow steps she started talking to the car.
" fuck' cursing in Japanese, Junpyo jumped back into the driver seat. The door banged shut, he focused on brushing his wet hair away from his face and whipping his shirt that had gotten a little bit wet. The girl he didn't even check if she hadn't changed her mind, he didn't even turn her way as she opened the unlocked door and slowly got in. Wet from head to toe, he didn't turn to check if she was fine as he stepped on the gas the moment he heard the passenger door click shut. His left hand stil brushing the water drops away from his shirt, his right hand was tightly holding the steering wheel he was directing to join the road as he stepped on the gas and increased their speed.
Jandi, trying hard not to sit against the seat because she doesn't want to get it wet, wasn't even sure if this was a great idea. Her body she held closer to the door, to create a distance between them. She sent her hands to adjust the coat to cover her legs. Her frozen legs, she recognized as she felt the heat of the car. The wet dress tightly sticking to her body, she was finally forced to sit with her body that had been asking for some escape from the rain and cold. Her hand she wrapped around herself, she fought not to but her body had shivered as she crossed her arms. She dismissed that it was because of her as she caught his right hand reach for the screen and pressed on the heater. The button he keeps pressing, Junpyo was turning the heart for her seat along with the whole car.
" Can you please sit back , I am not kidnaping you" Jun Pyo, focusing his annoyed eyes on the road, asked. Her small frame she had placed by the edge of the seat she was trying to avoid, her uncomfortable seating was too bothersome for him not to say anything. Not providing a verbal response, she just moved her body to sit against the leather seats that were starting to warm up. Her cold fingers, asking to receive some of the heat her whole body was being blessed with from the seat and the heaters he turned on, she denied their request as she just crossed her arm. The luxurious car, she was a bit shocked about how comfortable the seat she rested her back against was.
Her mind finally realized that yes she was in his car, as her nose starting to function again picked up the luxurious smell of his that had filled the car. She really was sitting in his car and this isn't even the first time. Her nervous fingers digging even deeper into her skin, she chose to focus on the empty road. The speed of the car that was driving through the empty but very wet street became her focus.
"Fuck" this time cursing in korean she caught it as she solwy turnned her eyes his way. His left hand brushing his hair back, she didn't understand what he was so bothered by. Probably was having her in his space, she assumed. Of course he would be bothered to have her in his car. Her nail scratching at her numb skin, she was realizing why being in the same space as him was such a bother. Considering her hard heart and blacked out soul that fakes bravery, it stings a bit to even admit she recognizes how beneath them she was that they don't even shy away front telling her they wouldn't touch her or have physical reaction to her presence. His curses, she had caught in the morning and even now, she doesn't even need any other reason to dig deeper or investigate why she didn't like being around the person that makes her feel like shit.
" You can drop me at any train station," she whispered, returning her eyes to the dark road. He didn't respond to her request as he headed to the free way. His speed she wanted to say something about, she sat in silence. Her hands slowly stretching to the seat belt, she made such to buckle herself. His eyes focused on the road, the first sneeze that escaped her lips was when his eyes finally turned her way.
" Sorry" she didn't even know why she apologized as her eyes looked up. The fact that she had even apologized, she was immediately disappointed and angered at herself. Why was she even apologizing for sneezing? Her head turned to the window by her side, she focused on the rain drops attacking the glass. She needs to leave this car as soon as possible. If she could, she would prefer to walk all the way home in this rain than sit in this car for another minute. Right after the second sneeze, she saw his right hand head to the back seat of the car. The hoodie he picked up was thrown to her lap. Janid, with confused eyes looked at the hoodie on her lap then up at the driver.
" I don't like getting sick," he said without turning her way. He needs to focus on the freeway he was getting ready to join. Jandi confused what on earth that meant just stared at the hoodie she had seen him wear a few times. Or it looks like the one he wears all the time. Is he saying she is going to get him sick by sneezing? Does she look sick? She questioned as she zoomed her eyes on the brand logo on the hoodie that was inside out.
" just put it on" his annoyed and a bit angry voice, she took it as a command. She knew it was better to do what he says until she can figure out a way out but putting his cloth was a line she doesn't want to cross. That one she wouldn't be able to forgive herself for doing. Even being in his car was too much. It was too much that her anxiety has been on stand by and making her aware of every and anything happening around her. Her arms she uncrossed were sent to the hoodie she was planning on rejecting and putting back in the back seat. Her cold fingers were able to pick the soft fabric of the inside of the hoodie she touched, in an instant. Junpyo's eye that had landed at her hands he saw her uncross, he had followed her cold and sick looking fingers that softly touched his hoodie. His curious eyes couldn't even believe how careful she was to touch it. Everything she does is more puzzling than the one before it. Junpyo was completely focused on why she was touching his hoodie in such a way to notice the police that just turned its light and was behind him.
The loud police siren, both their eyes were lifted to the car behind them. The police car signaling for Junpyo to pull over, both caught and Jandi quickly turned her eyes to Junpyo to assess his state. She had seen him drink so she knew he had alcohol in his system, the question was how much. This was not good. the last thing she wants is having to deal with the police, she sighed giving herself a minute to reorganize her thoughts and prepare for the worst night.
"Fuck" she heared him curse as Junpyo turnerd his signal and started pulling into the right lane.
" How much did you drink?" she asked, only worried about herself and the type of trouble she can get into if arrested, she needs to come up with strategies . At least a main and back up plan on how she is going to get away from this interaction. She can't get arrested. That wasn't even an option. Her records that don't exist, there was no way she was going to walk into a police station and hand in the fake identity she lives with. No matter how good Ctrl had been with the identity he had created, taking a chance with being entered into the police system was a NO NO.
" I don't know" Junpyo signaling to bring the car to the right lane responded. He wasn't happy about what was happening but didn't look that concerned. He looked annoyed.
" Did you take any drugs?" her questioning eyes were serious as she focused on him, his eyes that shifted her way had a question of their own. She looked beyond serious.
" Do I look that out of it?" he asked, trying to mask his uncomfortableness with her question with a fake smile. His eyes turned to the road he was slowing the car on, Junpyo wasn't ready for how scary serious she was about to get.
" That is not what I asked?" her body that slightly shifted to get a better look at him , she asked again.
" I don't think that's any of your business
" It is since I am sitting here," she interrupted him, pointing at her seat. Junpyo, startled by the angry tone of her voice, needed a minute just to take in how she had changed in under a minute.
" They are not going to do anything to you" as he let go of the brake and the car came to a complete stop Junpyo whispered, sending his hand to the cup holder where his thin wallet was placed.
" God" she sighed, as her hands were sent to whatever she could find to silence their anxiety. His hoodie on her lap was what they found as she started playing with the drawstring.
" Are you always this scared of the police?" he asked as he pulled his driver license out of the wallet. The police officer walking to his side of the car, Junpyo had caught.
" Are you always this drugged out ?" her defense and anxious mode sent the first attack. Her mind only concerned about saving herself out of the situation she had gotten herself into, she wasn't even remotely concerned by what she had said. Her sharp eyes, turning from the Police officer walking to the driver side window, shifted to Junpyo. The sting her nonchalant words had caused, she was forced to observe on his truthful face that was startled to even look away from her.
The loud bang by his window, Junpyo turned his attention to his window he lowered.
"Good evening" the police officer giving them both a smile started scanning both. His eyes more than Junpyo , focusing on the girl that was visibly wet from head to toe.
" Do you know how fast you were driving, sir?" He turned his attention to Junpyo. Not fond of the rain, the officer wanted to make it quick.
" No" Junpyo responded.
" You were driving 70 at a 65 limit" the police officer turning the meter to Junpyo signaled for the driver to pass him the driver license he had in his hand.
"Rushing to get home?" the office asked as Junpyo handed him the license.
"Yes," Junpyo responded. The ease in his voice, Jandi didn't even have space to worry about why he was so comfortable with what was happening. He was probably on the drugs to react to this, she assumed using the private information of his best friend Jihoo had shared.
" Are you okay? The office asked turning his eyes from the license he was reading to Jandi.
" Yes," she responded slowly. She knew how to fake through even the most tense environment let alone this. The fake smile she extended to the office, Junpyo leaned back to catch a full view. She has dimples. She has cute dimples on both sides, that was the only thing he was able to register before his attention was pulled back to the police officer who was quick to respond to the sneeze that escaped her lips.
" Put that on" the police officer pointed at the hoodie. Her eyes shifted to Junpyo, who was eagerly waiting to see if she will listen to the officer.
" You will catch a nasty cold and you don't look like you can handle being sick" the police officer went on as Jandi tried to search her mind for any possible reason she could provide.
" Why do you have her sitting with wet clothes?" the police officer asked turning to Junpyo.
" You need to take better care of your girlfriend, is she your girlfriend?"
" NOO'' her quick response had left even the police officer stunned. Not just the quickness but the utter disgust and retaliation against even the mere thought of what he suggested, both men were too stunned to even say anything as they just focused their eyes on her.
" I don't even know him" she whispered as she turned her eyes away , not even realizing she was causing more issues.
" You don't know this man?" the officer asked stepping closer to thecar as his hand was sent to this waist.
" No, i know who he is" she quickly responded as she caught the police officer and the concerned look on his face. Her eyes shifting to Junpyo, she was more annoyed by how he looked like he was enjoying this.
" we go to the same school" she added a clarification the officer didn't ask for.
" put that on , i'll be back" the officer started walking away after letting them know he will run the license and be back.
" huh" she sighed as she sent her eyes away from Junpyo, who she blamed for everything going on. If she can get away from this. She only asked for that. If she could get away from the police with no arrest , not. having to step at a police station ... that was the only thing she asked for. She had even prayed for anything else but police stations. She will do anything to stay away from stepping into a police station. Her hands that left the hoodie she sent to the buttons of her wet needs to do everything to make sure they leave this interaction with few topics to discuss with the police officer. The last thing she would want is for him to start asking questions and get to the main matter that Junpyo was driving under the influence. They could both go to jail for him driving drunk , let alone under the influence of whatever drug he takes. That is what she needs to avoid. Wearing his cloth is nothing, if it means no more questions and they get to drive away.
Her fingers finishing the last button slowly started lowering the coat. Her now warm fingers were slow as they grabbed the collar of her coat and started lowering it down her shoulder. Her mind focused on the police officer and the serious dilemma they were in the middle of, she had missed Junpyo's eyes that followed the black coat being lowered and landed on her shoulder. The dark coat being lowered was revealing her soft skin that was masking its natural glow thanks to the heavy rain and cold that had turned it fair. The thin string of the dress was the only thing on her shoulder that didn't have a necklace or even a dangling earring to pull focus away from it. From her neck covered by her wet hair that's stuck to it, when his eyes landed on the striking collarbone that lead to her chest, Junpyo quickly shifted his eyes to the other side. The opened window next to his, the was few raindrops and cold air coming in became his focus as his right hand was sent to brush and play with his hair.
His hoodie that was lifted, he had caught in his peripheral view, Junpyo chose to keep his focus on the rain for as much as he can. It only lasted a minute or two as whatever was making him curious to see her with his cloth forced his eyes to turn to the girl sitting next to him. Janid, focused on taking her coat fully off and folding it ,didn't catch Junpyo's eyes that were scanning half of her body that was now covered by his hoodie. How small she was compared to him, he found it beyond fascinating as he caught how the arm of the hoodie that was too long for her.
The police office walking to the car wasn't even noticed until he started talking and both turned to the office.
" Are you by any chance related to Shinwa Corporations?" the office asked. Junpyo, turning his eyes to the office, answered.
" yes"
" Oh wow. Really?" the excitement of the officer. Junpyo just turned to Jandi, who needed some time to realize why he was so calm.
" My family works for one of your construction company in Jeju , building the new hotel" the man started talking as Junpyo's small smile turned from Jandi to the officer.
" Oh wow, what a small world" Junpyo 's smile was all because of the honest and baffled face of the girl who placed her folded coat on the floor by her feet and sat staring at the police officer. She should have expected it considering how she knew very well that the police force was beyond corrupted. She knew that. Not just that, she was well aware that these rich people existed in their world where the laws didn't mean anything. The realization she was making, an addition was made to the mix when the officer asked Junpyo if he was under any influence and the boy honestly shared he had some drink. Baffled by it all , she didn't even register the police officers question that was sent her way.
" Do you have a license?" the officer asked.
" Yes," she responded.
" You should drive," the officer handing Junpyo his driver license back asked but the girl didn't even move her eyes away from him ,let alone get ready to do what she was told. Leaving her amazement by what she saw, she quickly realized they were being offered an out that would save her life. There was a time and place to be pissed about the corruption of the police force and the wealthy people that were beyond the law. Now wasn't that time.
" Please don't drink and drive sir. Just hire a driver or have another person drive" the office stepping back avoided the driver door that opened.
" You're not under influence are you?" the office turned to the girl that wasn't moving.
" Oh no" she responded
"switch then" the officer commanded as she unbuckled her seat belt. The door she opened, she stepped out into the rain that was still going. Choosing to walk behind the back, to avoid Junpyo that was coming from the front, she quickened her steps. The officer scanning her up and down, gave her a small smile. As she jumped into the driver seat, he helped by closing the door.
" I will follow you behind to make sure you don't change" pointing at Jun Pyo, the officer's voice was softer now.
" don't drink and drive" he added before he left them and started heading to this car. Junoyo adjusting the seat to give himself more leg room, picked her coat and placed it on the back seat
"ug" her lips she opened to disagree, she silenced herself. It wasn't important. She just needs to focus on driving out of here and hopefully getting away from the cop. Pressing the button on the door, she closed the window first. The rain drops coming in , needed to be stopped. Leaning left and right, she was looking for a button to pull the seat forward.
" Here" she heard his voice. His arm that extended her way, he pushed the button on the side to pull her seat closer to the steering wheel.
" That's enough" she signaled for him to stop. Her right feet that reached both the brake and gas pedal, the distance was perfect. Her eyes turning to his hand that came to the side of the steering wheel , she caught the button he pressed to start the engine.
"You know how to drive, right?' he asked, shifting his attention from her nervous looking hands to her sharp eyes that turned his way. Junpyo's eyes catching every nervous antic of hers was enjoying this more than he had thought.
" It's just a car" he added as he caught how carefully her hands grabbed the steering wheel after she pressed the signal left to join the road.
" a half a million cars" she whispered as she turned back to check for any car. There was none but the police car.
" So" Her annoyed eyes turned his way, she chose to ignore what he just said. She needs to focus on the road. The gas pedal she slowly stepped on, she was focused on adapting her driving to this car which didn't take much. The smart and fairly new car was beyond easy to navigate. The steering wheel along with the gas pedal, she was able to pick it up in a few minutes. All thanks to her amazing driving skill. All type of cars and bikes she was trained to drive, Jandi was hiding her beyond excellent skills as she chose to be safe. For one there is a police car behind her and two this was a half million dollar car.
Her attention focused on the road Jandi didn't turn to his hand that started pressing the touch screen. Turning the heat of the passenger seat off, he turned the heat for the driver seat she was on. Where she was driving, she hadn't even thought about it until she saw his GPS. Her eyes shifting to the police car behind her, she knew she probably had to get him to where he was going before she could even think about going home. Her eyes on the long light she was trying to turn on she hadn't noticed the location saved under the "cave" he pressed and the Gps that immediately started mapping out the direction she needed to follow.
In 200 meters please join the right lane to exit - The gps commanded.
Jandi shifted her eyes from the Gps to Junpyo, adjusting the seat he pushed back and sat down comfortably. The seat leaninh back, he adjusted himself to sit comfortably. He actually looked beyond comfortable as he crossed his arms and sat back. It didn't take much for him to recognize how smooth she was driving. His eyes on her hands making the smooth turns to make the exit, Junpyo was a tiny bit embarrassed he had questioned if she could drive. He was quickly reminded how scary good she was behind a bike. Of course she knows how to drive well. His fascinated eyes resting on her, he hadn't realized who how he was staring until she questioned him.
" What?" she asked not turning his way.
" Nothing" he responded as his right hand was sent to his hair. His eyes focused on the road, Junpyo didn't even recognize when the silence that took over the car became so calm. It was around the five minute mark.
The lack of words exchanged had easily shifted from awkward to nothing. The quiet had a charm of its own as it slowly started to evaporate all the heavy rain beating the car, the empty road she was smoothly driving them on, the drive ws setting its own mood as Junpyo recognized it wasn't just him when he saw her lean back and rest her back against the driver seat.
His phone he pulled from the cup holder, he pressed play on the playlist that was on the side of the Gps map she was following. His phone placed back on the cup holder, both welcomed the soft melody of the song that started playing with no objection. The amazing sound system of the car, Jandi hadn't failed from admiring in silence. The minutes that slowly started adding up, both had failed to recognize when the drive became soothing.
By the time the playlist smoothly transitioned to Dope Lovers by Dpr Ian, both people were in their own worlds, unconsciously floating into the serene space the drive was taking them.
Junpyo's eyes that slowly turned her way, landed on her left hand that lifted from the steering wheel and was playing with the drawstring of his hoodie she had on. Her right hand was enough to steer the straight road they were cruising on. Her body that was warm enough, had returned some glow to her face focused on the empty road. Her thoughts on something else, Jandi was completely away from this space to question or scare his eyes away from looking at her for more than a second. His eyes hidden behind his hair, took as many mental pictures as they could of this moment. The drawstring her left hand was playing with, his eyes were forced to follow to her lips she raised the string to. The black string brushing against her lower lip, Junpyo blamed the alcohol he had consumed as he turned his eyes away.
"Huhh" his deep sigh followed by his hands brushing his hair before they were sent to be crossed, Junpyo lowered himself and laid down even more comfortably. Both focusing on the empty road, the minutes started passing in silence.
" Can you lower the heat" her voice broke into silence. Junpyo, not even sitting up from his seat, sent his hand to the screen and started pressing to turn off the seat heater for the driver seat. His eyes that turned her way, were caught as she turned his way. How quickly he turned his eyes hiding behind his hair back to the road, Jandi didn't question. One, two, three, as the minute went by, they returned back to their own worlds .
Wish you were here - CL, The playlist shifted to the new song as the Gps commanded Jandi to be on the lookout for an exit.
In her own element Jnadi had even forgotten about where she was as she had left the smooth drive to take her away to a foreign space. The slow drums of the song beating at the speaker by her side, she wasn't even cognisant enough to notice her head that started bobbing to the beat of one of her favorite songs that had started playing. Neither her moving head , nor the drawstring she brought back to her lower lip was registered by her. It was only Junpyo, sitting back that had noticed both.
The drawstring by her lip was ignored for a second as he took in how she really was moving to the beat of the song. It was tiny , but her head was actually moving to the beat of the song. His captured eyes, unable to even accept this was real, were pulled back down to her lips. Behind the string held against it, Junpyo got his moment of the day as he saw her lips part slightly and move along matching the words of the chores that started playing.
What does your life look like
Without me there?
Do I still cross your mind
Without me there?
He didn't know why he even moved, as his hand heading to his phone forced her head to turn his way. He was able to recognize how instantly she shutdown. That was it. The tiny window she was provided was quickly shut off as her left hand dropped the drawstring and returned to the steering wheel. Even the look on her face had changed as she returned robotic, not even a hint of anything left on her blank face.
Junpyo grabbing his phone, pressed like on the song. His phone placed against his chest he crossed his arm.
Make a right turn - the Gps commanded as Jandi leaving the empty main road started heading to the quiet and luxurious neighborhood. It only took five more minutes before the car was commanded to pull over into the gate of the tall luxury apartment building.
" Go straight," Junpyo whispered. Janid followed. The parking space sign she could make, she followed as she slowed the speed even lower. The moment they entered the parking space, she was able to tell this was no ordinary living space. The line of luxury cars was too much. The apartment complex that was filled with it, she knew he probably has an apartment here. It wasn't his family home that they had to search for months to find the location. Her eyes on the cars, Jandi followed the direction his right hand signaled. The smooth curves she was making, the car was driving to the second floor then the third. The VIP section she noticed. She knew his car was probably going to be parked there.
" You can park anywhere" he whispered as she slowly sat up. Jandi choosing to stay away from the other two cars, chose the empty space at the corner to park the car. The moment the car came to a complete stop, Junpyo opened his door and got out. Jandi had made sure to grab her coat and her bag before she got out of the car. Standing by the driver side door she closed, she focused her attention on the man walking away to the elevator doors ahead.
' You can't go down that way, " turning around he pointed at the parking space they drove past. Tightening her grip on the wet coat, Jandi started her slow walk following behind.
Welcome- she heard an automatic voice as the elevator doors opened after he pressed something. Junpyo, walking in first, chose to stand by the right corner in the back. She chose to be on the other side. She was quick to notice the 11 floor button that was pressed. She knew she couldn't get from here to the lobby on the other side of the building. She has to go to whatever floor he is on and find the front elevator that will get her to the lobby. Her hands tightly holding the coat, she focused all her energy on that. Why the minute long elevator ride felt slower than the long drive here was a mystery.
His hoodie ending by the middle of her thighs, Junpyo used her reflection in the door to question why he wasn't bothered by his hoodie she had on.
As the doors opened up, he stepped out leading the way. Jandi busysing her mind with a way to get away from this followed behind. She needs to come up with a strategy.
" I can just leave," She whispered. Junpyo didn't even turn around to acknowledge he had heard her as he continued walking. Jandi took a second to wonder why she can't just leave. She was bound to find an elevator if she walked around halfway. Oh his hoodie, she was quick to recognize she has to return that. Still following behind, she started pulling her left arm out. The click she heard she paused to notice the apartment door he opened and walked into.
The few second she wasted standing in the hallway, steps from the open door.
" Huhhh" she left out a deep sighed as she took the steps and walked past the door. The modern design of the entrance space she was in, Jandi quickly removed her curiosity to want to see the inside as she chose to stand by the door. Placing her coat and bag between her knees. She took off the hoodie.
" hey" she shouted softly as she leaned in and tried to make out which direction he went. She got no response.
" I am leaving it he" she didn't finish her sentence as she placed the hoodie by the table on the corner of the entrance space. Lucky for her she was able to make out a corner of the living room she saw him walk into. Allah her curiosity shut down and she was focused on leaving. This was the best time to exit.
Just leave- the logical voice in her head, she followed the order as she turned around and headed out the door. She needs to find an elevator that leads to the lobby and leave this neighborhood ASAP. Her phone she pulled out, she started texting Bom who she needed to update on changes .
" if you" Junpyo returning back to the living room he was expecting her to be in, found nobody. Walking forward he focused on the full view of the waiting space she was in. It was empty, with a closed door at the end of it. The towel in his hand, his eyes were quick to notice his hoodie she had left by the table on the corner.
She was gone.
