~The Aegean Sea~

A Two And A Half Months Later:

With the mission at the museum being a success.

We were now supposed to be free to walk away.

Yet, we hadn't.

Now, we were on the move again.

I had grown extremely tired, and began sleeping a lot more than usual.

I wasn't sure if it was due to the work we'd been doing, or if it was the situation and stress.

This along with the constant headaches I seem to be having were becoming problematic.

Alice and Rose had begged me to get checked out before we took leave.

I shook off their concerns and continued to push through.

Now, a few weeks later, I realized I should have listened to them and gone to get checked out.

I had been feeling alright, until we stepped onto the damn boat.

Don't misunderstand me, I wasn't completely sick while the boat was docked at the harbor. But now that the boat began to move, my stomach decided it would be okay to lose its shit.

So, here I was, clutching onto the railing, as my stomach continued to churn painfully. Even after an hour and a half had passed, I was still feeling sick to the gills.

"Is she still sick?" Rose asked Alice.

"Yes, we should dock somewhere and take her to get medical attention." Alice replied.

"I can hear you!" I groaned before leaning over the railing and began gagging again.

"Perhaps we should let Es, and Sul take over the next mission." Alice suggested, ignoring me.

"No, absolutely not! This mission is important." I rasped, before groaning and leaning over again.

I felt like I was okay, I leaned heavily onto the rail, and sighed.

I thought we were done, finally out, and then Ianah asked for one last favor.

She wanted us to take the ruby to ensure the safety of one of her colleagues.

"She's done. Let's take her into the berth. She needs to rest." Rose said as she and Alice pulled me off the rail and helped me down the steps.

They lead me towards one of the beds, helping me lay down before throwing a blanket over me.

"Get some rest, it'll be awhile before we arrive." Alice said before making her way towards the table and sliding in.

I nodded before closing my eyes, hoping my now empty stomach would settle as I felt exhaustion finally pull me into a deep sleep.

I knew the moment I fell asleep, I wouldn't be able to escape everything I had been fighting to forget.

It was of no use.

Edward Cullen kept haunting my mind.

Each time I closed my eyes, I saw and felt something else.

I could still feel his tongue, fingers and body. All those nights we shared.

As much as I hated to admit it, I missed him.

And there was no way to deny it. Even to myself.

Four Months Ago:

It had been two months since I completed the heist at the Di Lorenzo household.

I went in to retrieve some important documents in a flash drive that had been stolen from a transportation agency.

Or so, I was told.

What the team and I found within that flashdrive was dirty on important government officials, including Congress.

That along with a few interesting people we've met along the way.

"We've gained access to the Johnson's Fundraiser." Es said, showing us the invite.

"So, who is going?" I asked, in disinterest, as I scanned the screen on the laptop.

"All of us. It's a large place, so we're going to need all of the reinforcements." She replied.

I raised a brow. "I've been in bigger places." I replied. "This is a hotel, and the event will be held at the banquet hall. I've been there before. With— with Vicky." I murmured.

Rose sighed, reaching over to squeeze my shoulder.

"We'll be extra vigilant." Esme promised.

"It's supposed to have a few Mafiosos attending… This includes a lot of the big business moguls. The Johnsons have contracts with Cullen Corp, and Masen Pharmaceuticals. Does this change anything?"

I shook my head, "No, the Cullens and Masens don't pose any danger to us. We're there to acquire something from the hotel vault, it's simple. A get in, get out." I told them.

Yet something was telling me that it would be anything but.

I could feel the ladies' eyes on me as I debated whether or not.

"What do you think, Sparrow? Should we go?" Sul finally asked.

I sighed, "Es is right about being extra vigilant. Especially if there'll be Mafiosos there. We don't want to have another run in with the high table. What details did Ianah send over?" I asked, leaning back to look at Lottie.

"She sent the layout of every room in the hotel, including that of the vault. It's a Fort Knox safe room. It has a code, a pin, and a combination dial." She replied.

"Lots, are you up for figuring out those codes?" I asked.

She smirked, "I started as soon as Ianah sent over the details. Here are the three." She told me as she handed over the paper.

I stared at her in surprised amusement, before looking down at the piece of paper. "You beautiful, genius bitch. I love you!" I called as she walked out of the room with a smirk.

"You're welcome!" She called back.

Rose laughed, shaking her head at me as she leaned back too. "She is going to be jiarating in the hall because of you." She said, smirking.

"She deserves a little hype, Rose. She saved us the trouble." I replied as I finished saving the data on my computer, before I slipped off the headset, and I got up.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"To get ready. We have a fundraiser to go to." I replied before walking out of the tech room.

A Few Hours Later:

After spending six hours in Alice's glam chair. Or as I like to refer to it, her torture chamber of beautifcation.

I slipped on the deep blue, A-line, off-the-shoulder, chiffon dress. It had a ruffle split front that hit just above my thigh, hugged my midsection, accentuating my assets in a classy way.

My neck adorned a sapphire teardrop necklace, which had a hidden camcorder in it.

The bracelet on my wrist held a small laser, which could cut metal. Which I didn't need, but didn't hurt to carry.

My other wrist held a wide, silver, cuff bracelet that had a knife hidden in it. Very useful and handy to get me out of a pinch. And the ear rings, which doubled as a mic and earpiece.

Thank you, Tia.

I had also hidden my gun and knife on my thigh holster. Just in case.

We arrived shortly after the event had begun. Each of us arrived separately, and walked in, with an invitation, under a different name.

I slowly made my way through the throng of people in the large room.

There were definitely more people than I thought would be here, each of us wore a certain color that we distinctly wear when out on these type of events.

Rose was wearing a bright red. Alice an emerald green, and Es a pale yellow. Sul a hot pink, Lottie a deep purple. While Did stuck with a navy blue, Theni stuck with a golden yellow. Heidi chose gold and black.

Renata remained in the house, along with Maggy, Siobhan, Carmen, Kebi and Tia.

Each of us had an assignment.

But mine was the riskiest one.

As everyone danced around, and laughed, enjoying the event. I slowly slipped out of the room and made my way down to the location of the safe.

I slowly assessed the safe, and room, smirking at the lack of security in this room. Only one camera pointed towards the safe.

"I've managed to get the feed on a loop, you've got twenty minutes before the hotel staff notices." I heard Kebi say.

"Got it." I whispered, as I rushed towards the safe.

Inputting code, correct pin, and twisted the combination dial correctly, smirking as the door groaned as it opened.

"The pin should be in a green velvet bag on the right side of the safe room, third shelf, I believe." Kebi said.

"On it." I murmured as I turned, searching frantically for it.

A relief sigh escaped my lips as I reached between my breasts, pulling out the replica.

I slipped out the orchid pin encrusted with alexandrite stones, dropping the real pin in my bra, before dropping the replica in the velvet pouch, and replacing the bag in the same spot.

After a small scan of the rest of the trinkets. I exited the safe, moving the dial to a different number before making my way back towards the banquet hall.

As I stepped into the end of the hall where the hall was located, I was yanked back harshly, and slammed into the wall. A large, tattoo covered hand slapping over my mouth a second later.

My eyes widened as I saw who was standing before me.

Shit!

It was the man I darted in the neck in that office a few weeks ago.

Double shit!

"Well, well, well. What a small world it fucking is. Isn't it?" He sneered as he stared down at me.

I shrugged, trying to move.

He pressed into me harder, pinning me with his body to the wall.

"What don't you have anything to say now, dolcezza?" He asked me, smirking.

I sighed, giving him a look.

"If I let you talk, will you be nice and not attack me?" He asked.

I frowned, before rolling my eyes and nodding once.

"Alright. Five minutes is what you've got to explain to me why I shouldn't send you to the pigs." He replied, dropping his hand and stepping back a few seconds.

As soon as he moved away I reached up and smacked him in the face.

"You said, you'd be nice." He groaned, rubbing his jaw.

"Yes, well, you weren't exactly playing nice when you yanked me like a fucking rag doll." I snapped rubbing my arm.

"I recognized you. Well, your ass. Glad I wasn't wrong." He sniped.

I rolled my eyes, "My, my, my, well aren't you the gentleman." I scoffed.

"I can't be a gentleman to someone who can be a possible threat. Now, while I am not allowed to hurt you, I can be very persuasive. So, what do ya say, dolcezza? Are you going to cooperate?" He asked me with a smile.

A smirk formed on my face before I leaned up to whisper in his ear, "I have no idea what you're talking about. "

Holy— why did he have to smell so good?

"I know you do, sweetheart. But you can keep playing dumb. I like taking my time." He whispered, stepping closer to me.

I frowned, moving away from him and shaking my head at him, as he chuckled.

"You took something that belongs to me. I want it back." He finally said.

The memory of the job suddenly rang in my mind.

"Oh, the flash drive? It's long gone. Sorry, handsome, looks like you missed it by a long shot. Better luck next time." I sweetly replied, smirking.

The warm smile suddenly turned cold, as his large hand suddenly wrapped around my neck.

"Where. Is it?" He growled.

I smirked back, as I wrapped my leg around his hip. Not feeling even a bit intimidated. "Gone. Sold it. I steal shit, I don't keep it." I rasped as his hand tightened.

His green eyes narrowed.

"Bee, the hotel staff noticed the video has been tampered with. Get out of there!" Kebi suddenly said.

Fuck. I was beginning to enjoy the banter. Oh well.

Before he could notice, I twisted my fingers, and brought my wrist up, slashing his forearm with the knife.

He gasped in surprise, stepping back, before pulling out his gun, aiming at my head.

"Now, I know you aren't going to use that gun. So, why don't you put it away." I suggested breathlessly.

"I could ignore the rule this one time." He suggested, warningly.

"You won't." I replied as he stepped towards me in a threatening manner.

I shook my head at him, dodging him. Noting that his movements were slightly off. Before using my foot to kick the back of his knees, causing him to fall back and land on his back.

I punched him in the face, wincing at the sound. Though I knew he wasn't unconscious, I also knew he was hurt enough, not to move.

"Sorry handsome, I really do have to go now. Don't move." I warn, before rushing away.
