Chapter 271
Hiccups POV:
Three weeks have passed since my visit to Asgard where I was given the honor of helping hunt down a prized boar to be roasted in the halls of Valhalla and in that time, things have been busy for me and my family. The reason for this is we've been preparing for the newborns arrival and helping Berk get some work done now that the blizzards have calmed down enough for people to go out and get some work done and even go fishing. First thing I did when I got back though was greet my family who were happy to see me back and have Hadasa rub some herbs that had been grinded into paste on my back to help with the bruising from all the slaps on the back I got after I was given the horn. Following that, I put the horn in my trophy room on its own pedestal while taking the armor which I used in the hunt and was allowed to keep, into my armory where I keep my mystic weapons since it was powerful.
Following that, Astrid pretty much demanded that we go to the Great Hall as everyone on Berk wanted to know what it was like to take part in the Great Hunt. I earned a lot of respect from the people when I showed them how the hunt went and how I refused to go after my opponents despite them ruining the hunt for me and Modi. I also got some respect when I was able to help open the eyes of the hunters by helping Modi free them from the vines when could've just gone after the boar myself. We all got a good laugh though when my great grandfather and one of our former chiefs tried to down an entire barrel of mead and ended up tipping the entire barrel onto his head but he just laughed it off knowing that a member who carries his blood was given such an honor. My dad was also incredibly proud of me for what I'd done and made that clear to me when he called for a feast to be thrown in my honor for bringing such glory to Berk.
After the party settled down I was able to go home with my family and enjoy a little down time with my wives while Toothless went to enjoy a little time with the dimensional furies who he'd been spending a lot of alone time with. Astrid would constantly make jokes about this claiming he's in love and is taking after his rider by taking on multiple mates which meant it was going to be chaos when he had kids of his own. I chuckled at this and hoped Toothless' hatchlings would get along well with my own since I did have high hopes that I'd be able to teach my own kids how to ride their own furies one day and Brant had already formed a solid bond with Twilight who just needed to grow before she could be ridden like her adoptive father.
Other than that, I'd spent some days on what used to be a floating fortress, turning it into a place for the fishermen to prepare their ships, store their gear, drop off their catches and have them prepared. I did this by merging some of the houses by knocking down a wall in each and then connecting them before filling them with racks for their fishing rods, hooks for their nets and other ways to hold their fishing gear so they'd have a place to store their equipment. Once that was done I merged another two houses before filling it with fish gutting stations and wracks to dry the fish so the fish could be prepared for meals and things. Along with this I turned three of the houses into a storage place for the fish after sealing off all openings and having my ice dragons freeze the entire inside. The remaining houses remained just as they were except for some furniture being put in since they served as places to stay for sailors who were going to get early starts and wanted to save themselves the walk from their own houses in the village.
I did however merge seven houses on the edge of the docks and turned them into stables for the dragons of the fisherman while also opening up a few floors for the tidal class dragons who helped with the fishing. As for the building in the middle of the place, I turned that into a place similar to the Great Hall so it was a place for fishermen to get a bite to eat after returning, discuss things and just relax a bit without needing to walk all the way home to do so.
That of course wasn't the only major project I'd been working on, just the first one I got to work on and a week after it was done I got to work on what I considered one of my most important projects and that is, turning the guest room nearest to my bedroom, into a nursery for the newborn. I wasn't the only one working on it though as my family members each wanted to help out in their own way to make sure it'd be as comfortable for the baby as possible.
I built a traditional Viking crib that could rock from side to side, lined with alpaca fur to ensure the baby was comfortable and able to sleep well, built a rocking chair so whoever was watching the baby could sit down and rock him to sleep, put in a bookshelf for children's books, a table to change the diapers on, lay down a carpet in the middle so the baby could play on the floor, and painted the ceiling to look like a star filled sky. The crib was against the right wall facing into the room while the bookshelf was against the wall opposite to it and the rocking chair was on the far right of the crib and the table was next to the door with the carpet being in the middle of the room.
For the baby, Blanca had knitted a blanket for the crib for the little one along with sowing some snake patterns onto it since she was a snake guardian. For Hadasa's contribution, she brought in some flowers that she placed into wall sconces and had them grow out a bit to add a little beauty to the room. Astrid being Astrid helped me make some security measures for the room including finding places to hide a few of my jewelwig automatons and helping me replace the window with flexible glass to make it safer. Brant and Chara on the other hand spent their time making wooden toys for their new little sibling with Brant carving them and Chara painting them. It was truly sweet how much they wanted to do for their younger sibling who hadn't even been brought into this world yet nor was their blood. My parents also brought some things for the little one with my mom making a stuffed nightfury toy and my dad bringing in a Viking helmet that he claimed the child would grow into.
Besides that, I'd taken to flying some of my other furies besides Toothless since there would be times I'd need to rely on them in different environments instead of Toothless. After riding each of them once I knew riding each of them was a completely different experience to riding Toothless or the others in their own way and these ways often meant that they each needed their own custom saddle. These saddles were not the least bit easy to design nor were they easy to make but it was worth it to make things easier for both me and the furies. There were of course a few issues when testing each of these saddles like when I was inventing a new tail fin for Toothless but like those failures that helped me perfect his tail fin, these failures helped me to perfect the saddles for each of the furies.
For Flora, my floral fury, her saddle was like the one I made for Toothless but it was longer so I could lean my chest down on it while stretching my body out since she was often doing turns through the trees that bent her body a little more than Toothless does. Along with this, I had the leather died green using a plant-based paste mixed with her sap to give it a plant like smell while also making it flexible for her style of flying. As for the plant like smell and color, the color helped the saddle blend into her back while the smell would help disguise her from predators if we were ever separated and it calmed her.
My electro fury, Electra, was a lot more difficult to build a saddle for since for her I needed to make a saddle that wouldn't take away her ability to take in lightning but also avoid shocking me with it. I was able to make her a saddle that had multiple lairs of leather with the bottom lining that touched her body being made of Zeus stone which I learnt could absorb the extra lightning, keeping it from me. I did mix it with Featherstone though since I didn't want the stone to weigh Electra down with its weight since I knew she loved her speed. Along with this I covered most of her upper and middle torsos sides where my legs would rest the same way as her saddle but with fewer lairs so it wouldn't weigh her down. Other than that, all the parts that were normally made of metal had to be replaced with Zeus stone wrapped in leather since metal would attract the lightning but this way, I'd be fully protected from it.
Yamanu's saddle was tricky since she had her camouflaging ability and her ability modify her scales composition since these abilities were things the saddle needed to adjust to. To begin with I lined the entire saddle with her scales which would change color with her body so the saddle wouldn't expose her when she was using her camouflaging ability. As for the straps that held the saddle onto her body, I used a spring calibration so when she thins her body the straps would pull in and keep a tight hold on her without falling off and also lined the saddle with rings that would move the ends of the straps. This was not a saddle that was easy to design or make but it was all worth it since riding her this way would be helpful during stealth missions.
Then there's my blaze fury, Pele's saddle which was difficult since she enjoyed scorching hot places like the volcanoes and would occasion take naps on nests that she'd set on fire. Because of this I did something similar to Electra and lined the inner parts of her saddle with a mineral from my mine which in this case, was ruby dragon to keep the saddle from catching fire. As for the metal parts which I knew would eventually either break or melt due to the heat, I made them from ruby dragon, merged together with gronkle iron using fusion ore.
Then comes my aqua fury Ariel who I mainly ride beneath the waves which as I learnt is not easy to do when she dives right into the waters which hit me with enough force to throw me off her saddle. It's for this reason I made her saddle out of shark leather to make sure its waterproof with the saddle taking up most of her back since I needed to lie down on my stomach when she dives and swims with the stirrups being able to move up and down her sides when I dived or sat up. In addition to this, I'd made a shield at the front shaped like half a dome with it mostly being made of gronkle iron mixed with depths sapphire and in the middle was a long window made from a mix of gronkle iron, flexible glass and depths sapphire. This shield could come up on its own using a spring system I designed, and I pulled a switch along with being pulled back down by spinning a crank.
Following this is the saddle for my frost fury, Lucia which was a bit of an embarrassing moment when I was testing it and my butt got frozen to the saddle. In order to prevent this from happening again, I lined the second lair with fever stone that would slowly rub together as I flew, heating up the saddle and avoiding me freezing to it again but I did put three lairs beneath it to prevent the heat from reaching Lucia who gets annoyed by the heat. As for her saddle, the leather had been died white to match both her scales and the snowy surrounding she chooses to nest in, allowing her better camouflage. Then there's the metal parts of her saddle which were made from a mixture of feverstone and polar quartz with the feverstone to keep them warm and the polar quartz to keep them from shattering in the cold.
My phantom fury, Bona's saddle on the other hand was a lot different to the other saddles which were mainly made out of leather, this saddle only had a leather lined seat and straps to hold it onto her body. The rest of the saddle was made from bones which fit to make it fit well with the bone armor that Bona herself wears and making it look like she wasn't wearing one. I'd also used bones to make handlebars instead of reins, so it still looked good with the saddle and so the only exposed leather was the seat since I covered the straps that held the saddle onto her body with rib bones. These rib bones also lined her sides and had a mechanism that served to help hold the saddle onto her body and when it comes off, they'd open up and let go.
Argento, my iron fury's, saddle was a lot thicker than the other saddles with multiple lairs of leather since two lairs wasn't enough to block out the pain of her iron armor. Seriously, first time I tried, I made it like Toothless' saddle and flew her for a few hours but when I came home, I had all sorts of aches in my lower middle and had to take a long bath just to get a little relief and even then I still had trouble sitting. It was because of this I made the saddle to have multiple lairs consisting of alpaca fur, between each sheet of leather to soften the saddle for me but other than that, it was a normal saddle.
The saddle I made for my tera fury, Gaia on the other hand wasn't the same as it was designed to be more like Ariel's saddle with it taking up most of her back and a shield at the front. The difference is this shield went down to her midback to protect me from the constant fall of debris, being hit with roots and rocks that are sticking out when Tera dives underground. I'd also designed this shield to be a bit thicker than the one on Ariel's saddle since rocks were a lot harder than water and it was also made from a mix of gronkle iron and diamond steel while the window was made from a mix of flexible glass and diamond steel. This would ensure it didn't dent easily, nor would the glass shatter whenever Tera dived into the ground and begin tunneling to wherever she wanted to go. Finally, there's the saddle I made for Sylvia whose saddle was identical to Toothless' except it was made of shark leather since she'd often dive into the ocean for Octopi, squids and other tentacle species which are her favourite snacks.
Now I was with my mom who was on Cloudjumper while I road Lucia in my ice wolf armor as we watched the Berk guard train using typhoomerangs under the control of Torch, but the point of this exercise wasn't to beat the typoomerangs but to outsmart them. I couldn't help but chuckle when two of the typhoomerangs were tricked into flying into each other while another was flown into the snow-covered ground. My mom then raised her staff and shook it, making the beads rattle which gained the attention of both the humans and the dragons who turned to see what it was she wanted to say. When both the dragons and riders were gathered, she clapped her hands and said.
"Good work everyone, that's all for today so go home and warm up." There were cheers from the men who quickly took off out of the area while my mom turned to me. "Thank you for bringing in the typhoomerangs Hiccup." I smiled as we landed on the snow-covered ground before Torch leaned his head towards me before I rubbed his muzzle.
"Don't thank me, thank Torch since he's the one who keeps them calm during training." She smiled. "How's about we take a flight before we part ways at the village?" She smiled at me.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea."
I smiled at her and we took off on a slow and quiet flight and I had to say it was nice to spend a little time with my mom but it was then I noticed something in the snow. I steered Lucia down a bit and saw they were ski marks and footprints, showing me that someone had been moving something through the snow. I signaled my mom to land before we both came down to land by the tracks before my mom asked.
"What is it?" I dismounted Lucia and examined the tracks.
"It looks like someone was moving something heavy through the snow" I looked in the direction the tracks lead. "and were taking it toward what looks to be the caves of Jotunn." I activated my kitsune mask and took a long hard sniff to see what happened. "There were four men pushing an empty wagon through the snow towards Jotunn."
"But why would they be doing this when it's so cold out here and so far from the village."
"I don't know but I intend to find out." Before I could mount Lucia though, my mom placed a hand on my shoulder.
"No, we should first tell your father about this since we don't know what it could be and your father is the chief so he'll want to know about this." I sighed knowing she was right.
"Okay, let's go see what the chief says." With that said we took off towards the village.
10 minutes later
We were back in the village, in the great hall, watching my dad stroke his beard in thought before he said.
"You're right, tracks towards those caves is strange but we should leave it alone until the thaw and then maybe we'll send in an exploratory team." I raised an eyebrow.
"Till the thaw?" He nodded. "Dad, we should investigate it as soon as possible since for all we know it could mean trouble." I noticed the troubled look in his eyes. "From the look in your eye, I'm guessing there's something else bothering you." He nodded.
"Earlier today, we lose several fishing vessels and an icebreaker recently with the survivors being brought back unconscious and on the tidal classes you send out to help with the fishing." It was then Gobber walked in saying.
"Stoick, we're all set with the crew onboard and the tide's in our favor." My dad stood up.
"Right, Gobber." I turned from the door to my father.
"You're going to sea with all that drifting pack ice out there?"
"Have to, whoever's behind this needs to be discouraged." I raised an eyebrow.
"Discouraged, seems unusually low-key for you." He began making his way to the door.
"And by discouraged, I mean their ship scupper, and the crew chained to a rock as a warning to others." I rolled my eyes.
"Of course." Then a thought hit me. "Dad, what if it's not people we're dealing with." He stopped and turned to me.
"What do you mean?"
"Dad, the dragons I send out with the ships consist of scauldrens and seashockers who would be more than enough to handle any enemy ship so isn't it a little strange that they'd allow the ships to be taken." He raised an eyebrow.
"So, you think something else is behind this?" I nodded.
"I think it's possible so it best you take Skullcrusher and a few tidal classes with you just to be safe." He nodded.
"Alright, just get them ready as quick as you can." I smiled and nodded. "And don't think about going to investigate those caves on your own." I frowned but nodded and as soon as his back was turned, I smiled since I never planned to go into those caves alone and if what my gut was telling me was right, what was going down in those caves was bad news so I couldn't leave it alone.
1 hour later
It's been an hour since my dad set off with one ship of men, four scauldrens, Skullcrusher, Gobber, Grump my mom and Cloudjumper and since then, I've returned to my island and let my wives know what I'd seen. They recommended before I did anything I should at the very least, send in one of my automatons to see if what was happening really needed my attention. I did as they said and went back to the caves entrance before sending in one of my Scouter automatons and discovered a mining operation but before I could do any investigating, there was a cave in, and my automaton was buried. Still though, this whole mining operation was all I needed to know something was up and I needed to investigate further so I grabbed Toothless since he could help me make a quick escape along with Argento and Gaya who were perfect for caves and mine exploration. My wives understood this but told me to be careful and to come back if it looked dangerous since I needed to think about the future of the child that Blanca was carrying and our adopted children.
This brings us to now, with me and my three furies, flying through the caves with Gaya leading us using her cave navigation abilities which were superior to Toothless' and Argento's. It was then the ceiling began shaking making pieces of stone fall from it towards us which made Gaya speed up and like Gaya, we also sped up to avoid being buried alive. A few seconds later we arrived in a giant cavern with a river running through it, but this was no ordinary cavern since it was filled with mining equipment, rails holding carts and support beams. I dismounted Toothless and looked around while making my way to the river before kneeling down and taking a sip before nodding as I said.
"Salt water!" I stood up. "Looks like whoever's behind this whole mining operation built this river to connect to the ocean to run their equipment and other things but what are they mining for down here?" I threw a fish scout automaton into the river and sent it towards the exit. "Just to see where the river opens up if we run into trouble." I then turned to my dragons. "Let's get out of here before whoever it that's doing the mining shows up." As soon as the words left my mouth though, nets with rocks tied to the edges dropped from above us and fell on both Gaya and Argento, pinning them to the ground. "Too late!"
I looked up and saw a large group of men looking down at us with the majority of the men missing limbs and those that weren't had a lot of scars. Seeing a lot of them going for their weapons, I got into my battle stance just as three of the men jumped down from the edge, planning to pin me to the ground. I quickly jumped out of the way as they landed but they quickly stood up and charged at me with their fists held high as I smirked since it'd take more than them to take me down. Before I could do anything though I heard Toothless let out a screech of surprise and I turned to see they'd just dropped a net on him to. I could tell he was going to go full alpha and also get his armor on but I signaled him to hold back since these tunnels were unstable as they were and if he went full on rage mode then we'd be looking at a giant cave in. It was then one of the men walked up next to him as he looked at me and said.
"Stand down or your beasts lose their heads." I lowered my hands before the men moved in and began tying my arms and legs to a pole like some hunters, I'd seen do to carry their hunted prey home as another man yelled out.
"TAKE HIM AND HIS DRAGONS TO CAPTAIN FISKE!" I raised an eyebrow.
"I'm guessing this captain Fiske is the one who's running this operation?" One man replied.
"That he is but when you meet him, you'll wish you never even heard his name." I rolled my eyes at this.
"Can't tell you how many times somebodies said either that or something similar to me." He just grunted before they began carrying me through the tunnels as I focused on figuring out a way to send word to my family so they could warn my father.
10 minutes later
I was shoved onto my knees in front of a man who I assumed was captain Fiske looked down on me from his throne as he said.
"I am captain Fiske and you will rue the day you strayed into my little underground extravaganza but rest assured, all of Berk will feel my wrath soon enough."
As he said this, I took the time to examine him and saw that he was a very large and muscly, with a hook in place of his left hand and a wooden leg on his right, he also had a red beard and mustache, with scars all over his face, a patch on his left eye. He was also wearing an ordinary Viking helmet, much like my dad's and his right shoulder pad had a giant wooden spike on it, sticking out. Along with all this, he wreaked of dirt and sea water, meaning he'd been down here for a long time and judging from how his men treated me, they hadn't heard about what I was capable of. When I knew he was done talking I sighed and said.
"Listen Fiske, you're not the first invader I've dealt with and chances are you won't be the last but it's always going to end the same so save us all some time and just surrender so I can take you and your men to cool down in the Berk Dungeons." He looked at me and asked.
"Invader?" He then began laughing. "Is that what you think I am?" He took a breath. "When I last saw Berk, you weren't born, and I was out making sure all of Berk slept soundly in their beds." I raised an eyebrow. "You never heard of me?" I shook my head. "Not surprising." He took a breath. "Back when we used to hunt dragons, not make pampered pets of them, I was captain of a vanguard fleet designed to patrol the waters off berk and your father, Stoick the vast, was my second-in-command."
He smiled. "A more fearless able-bodied seaman you couldn't hope to have your back. until he betrayed me, this is no invasion young Hiccup, this is a homecoming and I shall mark it by undermining the very bedrock Berk was built upon until the island itself swallows Berk whole!" I clenched my fists.
"What did my dad and Berk do to make you hate them enough to do this?"
"What indeed, but perhaps you should know the whole story."
"That would help."
"One fateful patrol we were attacked by a behemoth spawned in some deep, dark ocean abyss." He looked down sadly. "Lost half my crew to the sea that day and it would've finished me too if your father hadn't kept me afloat until the rescue ships came looking.
"Sounds like you ow my dad your life but this is an interesting way to repay him."
"The betrayal came later." I gestured for him to go on. "That creature took an arm and a leg, but worse it took my pride and i could not let it lie." He let out a growl. "Stoick should have backed me up and supported me but he called it a fool's errand, a vendetta that would just put more lives at risk." He sighed. "I knew if Stoick went to the chief, I'd be grounded indefinitely so I set sail there and then, without him and set about hunting down the beast that had so tasked me."
"So, to put it bluntly, my dad saved your life and tried to do it again, but you wouldn't listen and judging from your patchwork crew, it didn't end well." He nodded.
"Shipwrecked and stranded we were but we never gave up the fight."
"And you blame everyone on Berk but yourself for what happened." I frowned as I glared at him. "I've faced my fair share of foes in the past Fiske but you're the worst kind of villain, a traitor to his own people." He glared and pushed me down.
"We'll see how you feel after a few days working to help destroy Berk." Fiske turned to his men. "Put him and his beasts to work, will save us weeks of work with dragon power." I allowed myself to be dragged away but as I did, I had to hide a smile since what Fiske didn't know that while he was telling his story, I'd been sending word for help.
10 minutes earlier
Hiccups Island
Nobodies POV:
Things were relaxed on the island with Hiccups kids going through training while his wives enjoyed a little down time at the pool with Astrid doing laps, Hadasa sunbathing on one of the clines and Blanca sitting by the side of the pool with her legs in as she gently rubbed her pregnant stomach. It was then a serving automaton rushed in, gaining their attention as it rushed up to Hadasa and passed her the letter that was readable but written in bad handwriting, showing it was written by the automaton. Astrid climbed out of the pool, grabbing a towel as she did so while asking.
"I take it Hiccups gotten into some sort of trouble?" Hadasa sat up quickly and nodded.
"A large group under the command of someone named Captain Fiske have captured him and have a whole mining operation beneath Berk which they're planning to have the island swallow all of Berk whole." The girls gasped before Blanca asked.
"What does he want us to do?"
"Get Ariel and have her go after his father to alert him about what's happening." The girls nodded and took off to find the aqua fury who was one of the fastest tidal classes Hiccup had but was also a great tracker when it came to finding ships.
Presently
Ariel was flying at full speed through the waters of the ocean, reading the current that would lead her to the ship that her rider's parents were on. It was then she finally caught sight of their ship ahead of her and burst from the waters before flying the rest of the way, coming to land on the deck of the ship. Stoick looked at the dragon and asked.
"What are you doing here?" Valka walked up.
"She's got the message container on her saddle, so she was probably sent to tell us about something." Gobber took the container off.
"We'll have to read the message later since right now we have our own problems which our dragons are barely keeping at bay since you had Hiccups tidal classes evacuate the crew back to Berk." As soon as the words left his mouth the ships were tossed back by a large ripwrecker bursting from the water in front of it shocking Ariel while Skullcrusher, Cloudjumper and Grump growled and glared at it as Stoick said.
"We need to deal with that beast before we can do anything."
Ariel looked at the massive dragon and remembered seeing one of her riders' metal fish swimming around an underwater cave entrance. Looking at the size and power of the beast, she knew it might be able to help her rider so she let out one of her blasts of plasma gel blasts , striking the ripwrecker in the side, gaining its attention before she let out another blast to ensure she had its attention. Once that was done, she dived into the water before she took off towards Berk at top speeds with the ripwrecker hot on her tail with a look of pure fury in its eyes.
Back with Hiccup
Hiccups POV:
Hiccup glared at Fiske as he pointed his hook at the dragons who he now had trapped in nets that were hung up as he said.
"Make them start working or you'll be needing new dragons." I smirked at him.
"I take it you haven't spoken to anyone other than your crew for a few years now Fiske?" He glared at me.
"I don't need anyone other than them."
"That's too bad since if you had spoken to others you'd know that after all I've been through there are few things that anger me which is a good thing as nobody likes to see me when I'm angry but unfortunately, you've captured and threatened my dragons and that's one of the things that makes me angry." I released my boomerang and threw it at the top of the nets cutting them down, freeing my dragons who landed on their feet while growling as my boomerang returned to my prosthetic. "And you made the mistake of upsetting my dragons as well and an angry night fury is not something you want to deal with." I signaled Toothless to fire and he blasted at the feet of the men who were coming at him, sending them flying. "An angry nightfury is nothing compared to any stories you've heard of them." Toothless flew at me with the girls right behind him before I jumped on as he flew by. "LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" We took off towards the exit leading to the ocean with Fiske and his men behind us as Fiske yelled.
"THERE'S NO ESCAPE BOY!"
I then heard him order his men to get the nets right before the way out was sealed by a gate dropping in front of it, making us turn around to see Fiske and his men charging. It was at that moment that Ariel swam in with a large dragon I recognized as a ripwrecker right behind her as Fiske called it the beast making me smile. I signaled Ariel to lead it to the ceiling and do her back flip which she was quick to do, leading to the ripwrecker flying right into the already unstable roof of the cavern, bringing it down. I saw all of Fiske's men running out the exit but Fiske stood there, claiming the debt and humiliation had to be settled and I knew he was too far gone to be saved. We dived into the water and fought against the current to get out of the collapsing cavern which wasn't difficult before we burst out of the water and was given a good view of the cave entrance collapse. We immediately flew out of the water to the entrance of the caves of Jotunn where the men were rushing out as I dismounted Toothless and quickly extended my shadow, ready to pull them all in if they tried anything as I released my starsword and pointed it at them and said.
"Your leader is gone, killed by his own thirst for revenge and unless you want to join him then, put down your weapons and surrender."
My dragons growled and glared at them, daring them to try anything else but we were shocked when they all didn't hesitate to drop their weapons and surrendered with no hesitation whatsoever. When I looked into their eyes, I understood why since it looked as if their fighting spirit had been extinguished as if the only thing keeping them going for so long was Fiske's unending rage and with it gone, so went their resistance. I sighed and used my bolas to tie them up before pulling them into my shadow and heading home but as we flew away from the caves, I couldn't help but look back and wonder if it was truly over and made a mental note to come back with some tidal classes to check things out.
3 hours later
It's been three hours since my time in the caves of Jotunn and since then, I've put Fiske's men in the dungeon and found out that the crew my parents went off with had been brought back by my tidal classes in bad shape. I'd spent a few minutes helping the healers tend to the wounded using my mystic Ganji waters to heal their wounds and then finding out what happened to them. Following this, I had to go home and explain what happened to my wives who weren't that worried about me since they knew I'd dealt with far worse than a couple of pirates. Still though, they weren't happy with me for getting into trouble on Berk when we already had other problems to deal with how we'd been losing our fishing ships. They calmed down a bit though when I told them the danger Berk was in with how Fiske was trying to destroy the village by undermining the bedrock it was built on. Soon after that though, I had to deal with my parents with neither of them being happy about me going into the caves when they claimed that I promised I wouldn't but I told them I promised not to go in alone and I didn't since I was with my dragons. That didn't stop them from being angry though and because of this they decided I'd be helping repair all the damaged ships the ripwrecker left all but destroyed.
Still though, even now as I rebuilt the ship on the dock as the snow slowly fell down on me, I did it all with a smile on my face knowing that I'd done my duty and protected Berk. I then frowned knowing that a lot of damage had been done to Berks foundation meaning that there could be trouble in the future with sinkholes, earthquakes and buildings collapsing. I sighed and shook my head knowing that I needed to discuss these things with my parents along with how to deal with them when they arrive but for now, I had ships to repair and a family to get back to. With this in mind, I got back to focusing on the repairs that needed to be done to the ship that I was working on.
AN: And that brings an end to this chapter and with it, I wish you all a happy Easter and hope those of you who celebrate it will have an Easter egg or chocolate bunny for me. Anyway, I'm running a little low on ideas for the archipelago so if you've gotten any ideas on what Hiccup can do next than just let me know since he's still waiting for Blanca to give him his first blood child. If you think it's time for Blanca to give birth than I'm afraid it's not happening until after my niece is born and she's due sometime this month. It's because of the lack of ideas I'm beginning to wonder if I should put this story on hold until her birth since the next update will tell you all I'm an uncle and it'll give me a chance to come up with new ideas. Anyway till next time, have a nice day and a lovely Easter.
