Author's Note:

Hey, y'all, I hope you are all doing well.

I just want to take the time to thank all of you for reading, and sticking with the story, and for your patience.

I hate letting anyone down, and I felt that I was letting you all down by not updating.

The truth is, I have been struggling with a few things, and lost inspiration to write anything. Though I am feeling slightly better, I hadn't had a chance until today to finish so, I am sorry for the long wait, and hope you enjoy all of the little updates I've been doing.

Again, thank you.

I hope you all enjoy it.

We immediately knew who it was, it wasn't shocking to discover who it was.

It made sense, in fact, it enforced the idea that the Nest be disbanded after we took out Othonos and King.

Still the betrayal stung, and hard.

Of course it did, after working with someone for a large portion of your life you don't expect the one person to turn around and stab you in the back.

Well, that person would be dealt with accordingly. All bets were off apparently, and it was time to get down and dirty.

"What are you thinking so hard about, Uccellino?" I heard Edward as he walked into the room.

I stood by the window, staring blankly while subconsciously holding a hand over my slightly round stomach.

When he spoke, I blinked and turned to look at him. "I just don't understand how they could do this to us. Why did they?" I asked.

He sighed as he wrapped his arms around me from behind, placing his hands on my stomach too. "Siobhan and Liam are greedy people. No amount of wealth, money or power is going to satisfy them. They think that because something isn't done their way that it is wrong. It makes sense, really. From what Jenks told me, they met a long time ago and have been conspiring since. Even went to have a kid." He told me.

Something clicked in my mind. Siobhan has always been protective of Maggie since she arrived when she was nineteen. But I thought they were just close. Now it all makes sense.

I gasped in realization, "Maggie is their daughter??" I asked.

He nodded in response as he led me out of the room. "Apparently Maggie does have morals, though. She refuses to acknowledge having any ties with them." He told me.

"Wow." I mumbled as I placed a hand on my stomach again. "I can't imagine how Siobhan and Liam feel because of that… Still to betray us, when we've been like family to them. It makes me angry." I told him.

He nodded, "Yeah, I know. My father isn't too pleased with how things have come to light. Apparently there's a lot of people who Liam's made angry. So, we have to think of a safe solution for everybody." He said as the elevator dingged and the doors opened.

"Were you expecting anyone?" I asked him quietly.

He shook his head, "Hell no. Get behind me. Now." He commands as his hand goes to his belt.

"Relax, it's just me." Carlisle said as he stepped out, hands raised in front of him.

"Carl? Why are you here?" Edward asked, as he placed a hand on my back.

He looked at both of us before sighing, "We found the location of Othonos and King…. We also know where they're going to be in a month's time." He told us.

Edward's expression turned angry, before he turned to look at me. "Are you sure you want to be there?" He asked me for the final time.

I nodded vehemently, "Yes." I replied, adamantly.

I watched his shoulders drop, as he nodded, fists clenched at his side.

"Fine. Carlisle? What did you find?" He asked him.

He moved us into the lounge room, and Carlisle immediately began to explain everything.

My mind went to the moment I found out.

Two Days Before Leaving :

A smile grazed my lips as I made my way into the tech room, where I knew Tia was working on something.

Edward and I had moved in together, and I wasn't hating the idea of waking up to him every morning. Even when we spent long periods of time away from each other, we always smiled when we saw each other again. We even had a special phrase to make sure everything was fine, another one to alert one another that there was imminent danger, and one to say that we were leaving and it was for good.

It seemed to be working well for us, so far.

I was musing on the possibilities, the appealing thought of finally having a normal life even came to mind.

But those thoughts dispersed the moment Tia made her way over to me, and showed me something on her tablet, after she shut off the video and audio surveillance in the room.

"Are you sure?" I asked her.

She nodded, swallowing hard. "Yeah -- I uh, I found some inconsistencies and checked the last few years, which lead me to find a lot more than I thought. They were manually changed. Money, arms, and a few other things have disappeared but reappeared somewhere else. There was no other explanation… Someone has betrayed us." She spoke quietly.

I frowned, "You're sure?" I asked.

"Yes. I-- I know this program like the back of my hand, there is only one reason as to why someone would be changing the algorithm of my computers and security system manually. Give me a few hours and I'll have the person." She promised.

I swallowed hard, and nodded, "Not a word to anyone about this. We don't want to give them the upper hand." I told her.

She nodded before rebooting everything.

"I'm going to go run an errand. Try to have that by then. And keep your tablet close to you." I warned her, before making my way out.

I drove around for what seemed hours only to realize it had been two. Tia asked to meet somewhere else instead of staying in the Nest, meaning what she found was not good.

It was confirmed just as much when she handed me the tablet and watched as my eyes scanned the screen.

"Twenty Years. She's been doing this for twenty fucking years?! How the fuck has no noticed this before?" I asked her, angrily.

"Siobhan was here when we all arrived. She basically taught us what we know. It must have not been that hard to change the algorithm to her benefit." She told me.

I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face, and groaning. "Wait. This. Who is this?" I asked frowning.

Tia leaned over and frowned, "I believe that is Liam Conte." She told me.

Conte… Why did that name sound familiar?

"Liam… as in one of Edward's men." I said, as my body went numb.

She nodded, frowning as she stared down at the table. "Ben is not going to be happy when he finds out." She mumbles.

My eyes flew to hers, "No, don't tell him. We can't risk people getting hurt. I need to speak to Edward about this. He'll know how to deal with this. Until then. Keep it to yourself. Everything. We'll decide what to do after we tell him." I told her.

She nodded, "Keep this with you, then." She told me as she slid the tablet to me.

"I'll keep it to myself." She promised.

I nodded as I placed a few bills on the tablet and got up. "I'll call as soon as I know something." I told her.

I had told her to keep it quiet but I needed reassurance that I wasn't going insane so I spoke to Alice and Rose, who promptly told me that it was time for us to leave. We couldn't risk anyone that we cared about getting hurt in the crossfire.

So, I asked for a few hours while they went to inform everyone of our decision.

The drive back to Edward's house was tense as I fought with myself. I wanted so badly to be with Edward, but what if he got hurt? What if something bad happened? No. He would understand, he had to right? I knew I was crazy going on there without enough proof, but nothing prepared me for his reaction.

When I tried to breach the subject he changed it, and acted like I was being insane to even think of such a thing.

"Why can't you listen to me? For once." I questioned him, swallowing back the hurt.

He looked up at me, dropping the shirt in his hands, and taking a deep breath. "Because what you are saying is beyond insane. We have taken safety measures to assure that all of you are all safe. I've had to step back from a few things but this isn't up for discussion. I have to be at that meeting." He told me exasperated.

But we weren't were we? In fact, we would never be safe until this was all over. To be safe we had to go to the root of the problem. And suck the poison out of the system like a snake bite.

"I thought you told me you cared about me, why are you acting like it's a burden to do this? Do you want us to leave?" I asked him, watching for his reaction.

"That is not what I am saying. Stop twisting my words." He replied, angrily, and exasperated.

I looked away from him, unwilling to meet his gaze. "No, you know what? You're completely right. I'm being crazy. You should go." I said, closing my eyes as I felt a knot form in my throat.

With pain, I came to realize that Alice and Rose were right.

We needed to go. It was time to move on.

"Are you sure I should? Because a moment ago, you sounded like you wanted anything but that." He replied, unsure.

I nodded, still not meeting his gaze. "Go." I whispered, steadily.

I heard him sigh, before I felt him walk over to me, kissing my hair. "I'll be back before you know it, Uccellino."

"I know." I whispered back, with my back facing towards him.

I felt as he leaned down and kissed my hair again, before sighing and moving away.

Just like that my indecision was cured.

We were leaving. For good.

It was no longer safe to be here, especially when something like this was happening.

We would just have to find a different way to deal with Siobhan and Liam when the time came.
