Chapter 274
Hiccups POV:
It's been a week since me and Toothless returned from rescuing Aamin from Aali and her bandits and since then, both Aali and her group have been sentenced and will be locked up in a prison in another city and shipped off. Along with that a few of the living sand phantoms have been placed in Aamin's trophy room along with Aali's whip but I kept one of them and the crown as trophies from this battle. As for the treasures, some was sent to its original owners who survived the bandit attacks but sadly most of it had no owners as they were killed in the attacks. That treasure was placed in the palace treasury, but I was given a large piece of it as payment for helping bring Aali and her men in to face justice while also saving Aamin from captivity.
Besides that, I am very sad to say that word about Xiu's existence had spread and with it came multiple kidnapping attempts whenever we weren't in the palace and a few when we were in the palace. All were stopped by the guards, her mothers, Toothless, Zheng, me or her siblings who weren't the least bit happy with the attempts to kidnap Xiu and were thrown into the dungeon until punishment could be decided. Of course, to the sultan, this punishment was nowhere near punishment since in his eyes, they'd attempted to kidnap his first grandchild when she wasn't even a year old. He wanted to have them taken to the hottest part of the desert, be stripped of their clothing, tied down to the ground and left as a meal for the jackals to feast upon while their bodies roasted. We were able to talk him into just shipping them off into the same prison where Aali and her men were being kept and would remain there for the remainder of their days.
Other than that, things had been pretty nice with me being able to catch up with my friends, enjoy some down time with my family, train with the guards, helping Brant and Chara learn how to fight in shifting sands without slowing down or getting stuck in the sands and of course, helping Aamin round up a couple bandits. Speaking of which, word about me and Aamin's daring capture of Aali and her men which got a lot of respect from the people who had suffered under them for years. It was because of this that for the first three days following the events, we couldn't walk through the bazaar without people cheering for us with some asking questions about the dangers we faced. It was really annoying when me and Aamin were just having a quiet stroll with a chat while we checked out what the stalls were offering and even worse for my family for a different reason. The reason is we were always swarmed when we were out having a family stroll through the bazaar and people would use this as an opportunity to try and kidnap my kids or touch my wives in places that only I was allowed to touch as their husband. Those who tried to take my kids didn't realize that my kids were well trained warriors who were easily able to deal with them before handing them over to the guards and those who tried to touch my wives, they were slapped by my wives and then I was dragged away before I could get to them.
Early today though, I was in the garden with my family, watching as Brant and Chara played with Xiu from my spot with my head in Blanca's lap while Astrid sat next to us watching us and Hadasa humming an old Arabian song while Toothless lounged around in the sun. It was those times of peace that I felt like I was truly on vacation instead of on some sort of big adventure to save people or put an end to some foe bent on bringing me down or taking over the city. Everything seemed to be right with the world around and that's what brought smile before turning to the sky and closing my eyes, falling asleep in seconds. Sadly, my peaceful slumber didn't last long as a few seconds later, a guard had come by to let me know that the sultan wanted to see me about something important. This brings us to now with me entering the throne room where the sultan was sitting in his throne looking down at his hands in thought before his eyes landed on me and I bowed as I said.
"I was told that you wished to see me your highness." He then turned to me with a smile on his face that I knew meant he had something to speak to me about but knew I wasn't going to like.
"Hello Hiccup, you know I always enjoy seeing you since you know you're like a son to me and I so rarely get to see you since you're normally traveling the world or on your island." I sighed.
"Alright, you've given me the honey, now just give me the hatchet." He raised an eyebrow. "Old Viking expression in which you tell me something I want to hear which is the honey and then you hit me in the head with the hatchet which is something I don't want to hear." He sighed.
"Makes sense and it's right for this situation."
"So, what is it you want to tell me."
"Well do you remember sultan Khalid of the city of Magooli?" I clenched my fists at the mention of that sultan.
"How could I forget him?" I took a breath. "He would not leave me alone when I was visiting his city as Amira's bodyguard, trying to get me to sell him Toothless and when I refused he actually arranged for Toothless to be dragon napped using my islands bazaar and sending some bandits to capture him while I was busy." I then noticed an uneasy look on the sultans' face. "He's not visiting the city, is he?" The sultan shook his head.
"No, he's not."
"Then why are you bringing him up?" He sighed.
"Hiccup, as you know my city is one of trade that does business with multiple people, cities and kingdoms including his own which is why I called you here today." I raised an eyebrow. "It is time to renew the trade agreement between our two cities and as you can guess, he received word about your part in the defeat of Aali and with it your return to Arabia." I groaned, hearing this. "As you can guess, he has requested that you be the one to deliver the trade agreement to him to be signed and do the negotiations in the place of my royal representatives this time." I groaned.
"Let me guess, he's threatened not to sign the trade agreement if it's anyone but me." He nodded.
"Indeed, and he also claimed that he has been eager to hear what adventures you have gone on since the last time you met and that his daughter is eager to see you again." I shivered at the memory of his fan girl daughter who would take every opportunity to cozy up to me with her actually sneaking into my room in the evening on one occasion which ended with Toothless chasing her off. "Hiccup, I know this will not be easy for you but I would never ask this of you if it was not important so I hope you will do me this favor." I sighed since the sultan was like a father to me so it wouldn't feel right to turn him down and cause problems for both him and the people who have already suffered enough.
"When should I leave?" He smiled.
"Tomorrow would be best so you can arrive in the evening." I nodded.
"Should I bring my family?" He shook his head.
"I would advise against it as he may try to use them against you, so I recommend just Toothless go with you while your family remain here." I nodded.
"I agree since if the princess is anything like last time then Astrid would rip her head off an hour after meeting her." He chuckled and nodded.
"That wife of yours is feisty." I nodded and sighed.
"That's one of the many things I love about her." He smiled at me.
"Love is a strange and wonderful thing my boy." I nodded before we began discussing what was expected of me as a royal representative.
1 day later
It's been a day since my meeting with the sultan and since then I've been told all that is expected of me as a royal representative and how I wasn't only representing both the sultan but the entire city and all those who relied on the trade agreement. I'd also told my family about it and while none of them were the least bit happy about it, they understood how important the trip was for the city and how much trouble sultan Khalid would be for all of us. After that we spent the entire day together since there was no telling how long the meeting in the other city would be and knowing Khalid, he would do everything he could to keep me there for as long as he could. On the bright side, wives wanted me to know how much they'd miss me and made that clear with our evening in bed where they made sure I didn't sleep that much. When morning came me and Toothless had a quick breakfast before taking off to the city ruled by sultan Khalid and his daughter who I considered one of the biggest headaches, Arabia had.
This was proven when we arrived earlier today and not even five minutes after arriving did his daughter, Princess Jamila take a place at my side and claimed my arm while telling me how much she missed me. When we got to the throne room sultan Khalid welcomed me and Toothless to the city before having a large feast brought in and had us sit down while pelting me with questions while his daughter tried to feed me bits of food despite me telling her I'm married now. Honestly, we didn't leave the throne room the entire day and I had to endure the constant questions, requests to show what happened on my adventures, show my new weapons, Jamila's flirting and of course sultan Khalid's offers to buy Toothless. I couldn't get a moments peace to even just enjoy the meal and to top it all off, he sultan Khalid couldn't even be bothered to begin discussing the trade agreement despite me trying to convince him that it needed to be discussed.
Now I was sitting on the end of a large bed in the palace bedroom same room I stayed in last time I was in this city with Toothless' head in my lap while I stroked it gently, making him rumble in pleasure. I knew these next few days were going to be rough with Khalid's attempts to buy Toothless from me and Jamila's constant flirting and there's no telling what else we'd have to deal with. I sighed and looked to the ceiling and remembered how after dinner, I was able to convince Khali to let me go and get some rest but he did try to give me a room with no lock and was right across from Jamila's room. I highly doubt that he could possibly have made his intentions even more obvious if he tried since he was obviously hoping Jamila would have an easier time sneaking in to try and seduce me. I sighed one last time before gently pushing Toothless' head off my lap, making him look up at me and croon but I just smiled at him and said.
"Let's get some rest bud." He growled and nodded before we both prepared for a few hours of peace which would be rare in the coming days.
5 days later
Nobodies POV:
It's been five days since Hiccup and Toothless arrived in the city and that time had been nothing but one headache after another for both the dragon and his rider. The sultan and his daughter would rarely if ever give them a moments peace with their constant requests to spend time with them both doing various activities. If that wasn't bad enough, they couldn't get any peace outside of the palace either as those who ran the bazaar were even more pushy than the ones in the city he came from, practically shoving their product in both their faces. If that wasn't bad enough, the merchants were even more vicious in their attempts to buy Toothless from Hiccup and when they found out about his bottomless waterskin that provided him with endless water and the capabilities of his scorpion and tent, they couldn't take one step into the bazaar without being swarmed by practically every merchant within it. There'd even been a few attempts to separate the two using fish to lure Toothless away while Hiccup was dealing with the merchants, but Hiccup would quickly catch on and capture those trying to steal his dragon.
Now night had fallen over the city and Hiccup was in bed, asleep with Toothless sleeping at the foot of the bed, but neither of them had let their guard down, knowing what could happen. They knew they had to be especially on guard tonight after they took sultan Khalid for a flight earlier today at his insistence and after that he was more determined than ever to gain ownership of Toothless, even if he had to steal it from Hiccup. This is what leads to the activity's sultan Khalid was doing, presently in one of the palaces many secret chambers where he was meeting with one of his most loyal advisors who was looking up at the sultan in fear as he glared down at him and said.
"That dragon must be mine, with him at my side then all other royals will know that I am to be respected above all others." He then took a breath. "I know you wouldn't have called me here without having found a way to make that dragon my own." The advisor nodded and pulled out a glowing purple gem that was no thicker than his hand and just as big. "I have already tried to tempt him with jewels, and he turns them down." The advisor smiled.
"My lord, this is not for the rider but for the dragon." Khalid raised an eyebrow. "This is the legendary gem of Berukaru and with it the dragon shall be yours." Khalid examined the gem.
"How so since if it involves mind control than it shall not work as both Hiccup and his dragon have been granted an immunity to such things by the gods themselves."
"This gem does not grant mind control but body control." Khalid raised an eyebrow and gestured for his advisor to continue. "What this gem does is rob a creature of its ability to control its body, basically putting its brain to sleep while leaving its body as a puppet to the one who placed the gem on it." Khalid nodded.
"So, you are saying that this will allow me to control the dragon?" He nodded. "But how shall this help me claim the dragon?"
"Hiccup is a man who clearly desires his dragon's happiness above all else concerning the beast so if being here makes the beast happy then he will accept it and leave Toothless here to live with you as your guardian and knowing how much he loves the dragon, he will most likely visit more often which shall be good for Princess Jamila's intention of catching his eye." Khalid nodded.
"What's the full plan?"
"For the next few days, you should stop making offers to make it look like you have given up on trying to buy the dragon but at the same time, you shall have them both pampered in many ways claiming you wanted to apologies for all the trouble."
"How does this help the plan?"
"When you take control of the dragon and have it stay here then it'll seem less suspicious to Hiccup as he will believe Toothless simply enjoys life here and get them to lower their guard." Khalid nodded in understanding.
"But how exactly am I meant to slip this onto the beast without Hiccup knowing?"
"Simply tell him you wish to see what it is like to fly the beast on your own or go for a ride with him and while on the beasts back, simply slip in under the dragons saddle."
"Won't he notice something's off if his dragon just suddenly freezes in midair?"
"The gem shall only activate in the evening sire, and when it does the dragon shall seek you out and await your orders so Hiccup will not notice something is wrong with his dragon until morning and by then the beast will be under your command." Khalid smiled and nodded as he took the gem and looked down at it.
"Perfect!" He looked up at his advisor. "Excellent work." The advisor nodded and bowed before they began discussing the plan in more detail.
18 days later
It's been eighteen days since the sultan Khalid was given the plan of using the legendary gem of Berukaru to take command of Toothless' body and in that time, Khalid had taken the advice of his advisor and stopped trying to buy Toothless while showering them both in luxury. While Hiccup was a little uneasy, feeling Khalid was up to something, but Toothless was enjoying every minute of it and who could blame him since he got his favorite fish every day and scratches whenever he wanted from the servants assigned to look after them and whatever he wanted. Now after nine days the plan had truly begun as earlier today, Khalid had convinced Hiccup to take him up for a flight on Toothless which was when he slipped the gem beneath Toothless' saddle.
Now evening had once more fallen over the city and Hiccup was with Toothless, slumbering in their room but while they slumbered, Khalid was sitting in his throne room waiting for the gem to bring him his new 'pet' or a more accurate name for it would be 'puppet'. He didn't have to wait much longer though for a few seconds later the door was pushed open and Toothless walked in with his eyes glassy and blank with a small glint of purple around the edges. He walked up to the sultan's throne and then stood there for a few seconds before bowing making Khalid smile and decide to test out his control over Toothless and ordered.
"Sit!" Toothless did so. "Raise your right wing!" Toothless once again did as he was told making Khalid smile and do one last test. "Chase your tail while hopping around." He then got a good laugh when Toothless did exactly that as Khalid stood from his throne and made his way to the door before turning back to Toothless who was still following the last order he was given. "Follow me beast!" Toothless stopped hopping around while chasing his tail and followed Khalid.
Morning
Hiccups POV:
I woke up to the feeling of the morning's suns light shining on my face through the window of the room I was given to sleep in and sat up before stretching out a bit while cracking my bones a bit to get rid of the evening's stiffness. It was then I realized I couldn't hear the familiar sound of my dragon yawning and looked at the foot of the bed and my eyes widened at the sight of Toothless not being where he was last night. I looked around the room to try and find my dragon while calling for him but it was easy to tell he wasn't in the room which was odd since we were never apart when in this city because of all the attempts to steal him from me. I figured something might have happened I quickly got my gear on and ran out of my room while looking through the eyes of my various automatons that I had spread around the palace. It didn't take long to find him with my automatons but what surprised me was that he was in the dining room with the royals, chowing down on a large bowl of fish and I knew something was really up since he preferred to be as far from Khalid as possible.
Now I was rushing down the hall that leads to the dining room to see what was going on with Toothless and slammed the doors open gaining the attention of everyone but I was shocked when Toothless didn't react and just kept eating the fish. Khalid looked up at me in shock before calming down and said.
"Good morning Hiccup, is something wrong?" I took a breath to calm my nerves.
"Sorry, I was just worried about Toothless since he wasn't in my room when I woke up." He smiled at me.
"Don't worry, he's been here enjoying his breakfast with me and my daughter for the past half hour." Jamila then said.
"It's true Hiccup, I walked in this morning and he was just standing there eating his fish by my father." I could feel something was wrong as Khalid said.
"Hiccup while we are here, I was hoping to ask that you allow me to take Toothless out for a flight on my own just to see what it's like." I was about to reply but he then continued. "I've already spoken with him about it and he's agreed to it." I raised an eyebrow.
"He did?" Khalid nodded and turned to Toothless.
"Toothless, come here a moment." Toothless much to my shock did exactly that. "Please lower your body so I may mount you for our flight." Toothless did that and I was shocked when Khalid mounted him with no issues. "See Hiccup, nothing's wrong between us so if you will excuse us, we'll be going on our flight." He then turned to the open balcony. "Toothless, take off out into the skies through the balcony." I watched as they actually did so and couldn't help but notice how Toothless didn't even turn to me to say goodbye or how his movements seemed stiff and walked out onto the balcony and watched them fly off.
"There's something wrong!" I was brought out of my examination when Jamila walked up behind me and wrapped her arms around me before gently pulling me back.
"It's nothing Hiccup, Toothless has probably grown close to my father after all the luxuries he's been given as an apology for all the times he's annoyed you both." I didn't believe it but for now it was all I had. "Now come on, breakfast is waiting for us on the table." I shook her off and turned to the table.
"Alright, but please don't hold me like that as I'm a married man." I then made my way to the table and began eating but I couldn't help but worry about what was going on with Toothless.
5 days later
It's been five days since Toothless had begun acting strange and since then my suspicion that something was going on had grown to new heights for multiple reasons. In the past five days, Toothless has barely spent any time with me and when he does, Khalid is with us and ordering Toothless around who obeys him without complaint and when I try to go for a flight I'm intercepted by one of the palace inhabitants for one reason or another. What truly made me realize something was up was how last night, I secretly returned to my island and got Twilight before bringing her back before waiting for Toothless to be alone and then brought out Twilight. There was absolutely no reaction from Toothless, he honestly just stood still like a statue when she was actually trying to get his attention which really hurt Twilight. After that I'd gone over every possibility that he was under some sort of control, I made him his food myself, checked him over for any additional gear and so much more and came up with nothing, but I knew it had to be something since he's immune to all forms of mind control.
Now however, I'd been called to the throne room since sultan Khalid had returned from a flight with Toothless and from what I was told, he wanted to speak to me. I walked into the throne room and found Khalid sitting in his throne with Toothless standing next to him with Jamila on his other side who smiled at me with a few guards posted around the room. When he saw me, Khalid smiled as he said.
"Hiccup, it's good to see you today and I have wonderful news." He held up a rolled-up scroll. "My advisors and I have completed the trade agreement and all it requires is for you to go through it and sign it before our business together is done for now." I nodded and walked up before taking it from him.
"Alright, I'll take a look at it after a flight with Toothless." I turned to Toothless who kept staring ahead blankly.
"Actually, Hiccup there is something I wished to discuss with you concerning Toothless." I raised an eyebrow as he stood up and walked to Toothless. "Toothless and I have been spending a lot of time together these past few days as you know which I believe is thanks to how well he's been treated here by my orders." I knew it was something else entirely, but I was not going to let it be known so I gestured for him to go on. "It is due to this that we have bonded and Toothless has decided to remain in the city with me." He turned to Toothless. "Isn't that right Toothless?" Toothless nodded before Khalid turned back to me. "Rest assured, you shall be more than welcome to visit whenever you like, take him on flights with me and of course I will not send you home empty handed as I shall grant you multiple treasures as payment for him and his saddle."
"If staying here makes Toothless happy then I will not stop him, but if you are going to take my dragon then his saddle comes with me to remember him by." I saw his eyes widen and his fists clench in fear and I knew he was hiding something concerning the saddle and it was then I realized whenever I wanted to take the saddle off, I'd be cut off by one of the palace inhabitants.
"Actually, I was hoping to keep the saddle to save my men blacksmiths some time and it would be difficult for them to figure out how the prosthetic you built works." I nodded before I decided to end this ridiculous performance.
"Alright but may I just ask you one question?" He nodded.
"Of course."
"Do you honestly think that after everything I've been through, I wouldn't recognize it when someone or something is being magically controlled, especially my own dragon?" He sputtered. "Or recognize the signs that something is bothering someone when something is mentioned?" He recovered.
"I have no idea what you're talking about!"
"Save the act for the theater, last night I was able to sneak past your guards and get to Toothless when nobody else was around and bring out his daughter who couldn't get a single reaction out of him and whenever I mentioned removing his saddle, I'd be interrupted by one of the palace inhabitants and now you're trying to ensure it stays on meaning there's something either in it or under it." I could see him shaking but before he could reply, one of the guards stepped forward and said.
"You would be wise not to insult our sultan after the kindness he has shown you." I turned to him and decided to make my hidden anger known to everyone in the room.
"And you would have been wise not to further anger someone who can turn you into stone." He opened his mouth to speak but my eye patch uncurled itself, revealing the eye of the dragon and a few second later he was nothing more than a statue, shocking everyone as the patch recovered my eye. "It's only temporary but does anyone else want to join him as a statue?" I saw everyone back away in fear before sultan Khalid recovered.
"You dare attack one of my guards?" He turned to Toothless and I knew what was coming. "Toothless, restrain your former rider!" Toothless leapt at me but I sidestepped and the second he was at my side, I reached out and pinched a part of his neck and he fell to the ground asleep, shocking everyone as I looked back at Khalid.
"Don't you think that after all the time I've spent with dragons, I'd know how to quickly and quietly subdue them?" He just blabbered and I turned back to Toothless. "Now let's see why you didn't want the saddle coming off." He stood up from his throne, but I quickly pulled the saddle off my dragon and found a purple gem that seemed to have seeped into his body and was pulsing with power. "So, this is what you didn't want me to see." I grabbed the gem with my prosthetic and yanked it out of Toothless' body making him roar in pain. "I'm sorry bud." I let out a sigh of relief when Toothless was still breathing before I looked down at the gem and my mind flashed to an old Arabian book of mystic artifacts I read once and said. "The gem of Berukaru!"
"You know of the gem?" I looked up and glared at him.
"Considering my habit of protecting those in need from enemies who use the mystic arts to fight, I decided it best to research ancient magics so I'd at least have an idea on what I'd be dealing with but the magic within this gem is a particular that truly disgusts me." I held up the gem for everyone to see. "This gem enslaves another to the one who placed it on them but not by enslaving their minds, it enslaves their bodies." I could see everyone looking confused. "In other words the victim becomes a prisoner in their own body, their aware of all that's going on around them and what they're doing but they have no control over their own actions so they've basically been turned into living puppets." I lowered my arm and looked at Khalid. "And you used this repulsive thing on my dragon who is also my best friend."
"Now Hiccup, I know you must be mad but that's not what happened."
"Don't lie to me, in addition to knowing that the victim of the jewel would only obey the ones who put it on them, and I've also undergone training to know when someone's lying to me." I put the jewel in my spiderpack before Toothless groaned and slowly got up and turned to him. "You alright bud?" He looked up and me and let out a joy filled roar before tackling me and nuzzling my chest as I laughed. "I'm glad you're alright." He then turned to Khalid and growled while giving him a glare that would make my dad soil his pants before slowly walking towards him as Khalid leaned into his throne in fear.
"Hiccup, please call off your dragon!" I smirked at him.
"No, I think he needs time to get this out of his system and give you something to think about the next time you decide to do something so cruel." I pulled out the trade agreement. "And it'll give me the chance to examine the trade agreement but first." I released my small rotating blade and launched it at the front of the head of a guard that was walking towards Toothless to intercept him. "Don't even think about it." He nodded and backed off while I unfurled the scroll and went over it and by the time I was done, I growled before looking at Khalid who was pinned to his throne by Toothless. "Did you really think I'd be stupid enough to sign this?"
"What do you mean?" I signaled Toothless to stand down which he did.
"This contract would create a trade agreement between the two cities, but your city would receive over three quarters of the profit and if the other city tried to break it off, you'd be given half the sultans treasury." I looked around at the others in the room. "All of you get out now, I need to have a private word with your sultan about this trade agreement and why you shouldn't cross me." One guard stepped forward with his blade out.
"Do you honestly think that we'd-" I cut him off by releasing my eye and turning him to stone.
"Anyone else wish to annoy me?" They all shook their heads and rushed out before I turned to Khalid. "Now let's talk about both your actions towards my dragon and this unfair trade agreement." He gulped as I turned my prosthetic into its dragon claw form.
Nightfall
Night had fallen over the city and I was laying on the bed, wearing nothing but my pants while my arms were behind my head, Toothless was at the foot of my bed sleeping soundly with Twilight soundly sleeping beneath his wing. While they slept soundly, I was having a harder time falling asleep since todays events were still swirling around my mind with all that happened during my meeting withsultan Khalid. I made it clear to him that I wasn't the least bit happy with what he did to Toothless, using my prosthetics ability to show people their worst nightmares on him and made sure he endured it for two hours. By the end he was begging me for mercy and swore he'd never try to take Toothless again which was enough for me and then we got to the trade agreement which we were able to come to a fair agreement in which the profits are shared equally and no drawbacks should it be broken. I knew the sultan was not going to be happy with what happened when I tell him what sultan Khalid did or how I punished him for his crimes but I'm a Viking and we protect our family members and to me Toothless is family. I sighed and wondered what the sultan would say to me when he found out since I highly doubt, he'll be happy with me but for now, all I could do was rest and wait.
1 week later
It's been a week since I sealed the deal with sultan Khalid and that week had been busy since I had to try and smooth things over with some of the nobles and traders who were loyal to sultan Khalid and also happened to be the most powerful when it came to trade. It took a lot of explaining and negotiating to ensure they'd partake in the new trade route agreement but I was able to explain my actions to them and calm them down enough, not to do anything that would affect any future trades. It wasn't easy though since I had to promise some of the traders the best spots in my bazaar along with the best rooms in the buildings where the traders slept while doing business. There was one guy who I had to get a little rough with since he tried to make it so the price of his participation would be allowing him to spend a night in the company of my wives.
I had to keep myself from turning him into stone and then shattering him into pebbles, but I settled for threatening to not allow him or his men access to my bazaar which would be a major hit to him since foreign products were a big seller with all sorts of clients. This was something that got the attention of everyone and made them remember the profits they made from items they were able to get from my bazaar. This got them all to back off and accept that what their sultan did was wrong while I was mainly seeking out justice against him and freeing my dragon from enslavement. As for the gem of Berukaru, I took it out to the middle of the desert and used my prosthetic to shatter it into pieces which I then put into a gronkle iron box with a lock but no key just to be safe so the only way to open it was with my mystic bell and would deal with the shards when I got home.
Sadly, my headaches didn't end there though since I was hoping after dealing with her father, I hoped Jamila would back off, but sadly not only hadn't she stopped, but instead increased her efforts to take a place as one of my wives since she found standing up to her father like that to be the bravest thing anyone's ever done and also incredibly attractive. Honestly, it got so bad that I had to have Toothless sleep in front of the door just to keep her from sneaking into my room at night to try and bed me and when I walked out, she'd immediately latch onto my arm and accompany anywhere I went. It was all one massive headache for me and I was truly grateful that it was finally over which brings us to now, with me on the back of Toothless in the sky and Twilight flying next to us with the city where my family was, in the distance. The thought of embracing my loved ones again made me smile and my heart swell with joy and I couldn't help but smile a little wider since my wives promised to welcome me back come nightfall. With this in mind, I opened Toothless tail and we took off at top speeds towards the city with Twilight flying right on our tail, also wanting to get back to Brant.
Nightfall
Today had been a major headache from the moment I arrived starting with not being able to see my family when I got back since it hadn't even been two minutes after we landed that we were taken to the sultans to discuss rumors that had happened. Apparently, word spread fast but like all gossip, there were many versions like claiming Toothless turned the sultan to stone for mind controlling me, me turning the princess into a statue for mind controlling the sultan into killing Toothless and a lot more. When I cleared things up though I had to keep the sultan from declaring war for sultan Khalid's actions towards me and Toothless and even more so after I told him how he tried to trick me into signing an unfair deal that would only benefit his kingdom. He calmed down and backed off after I explained to him how I returned the favor for what he did before I was able to leave and meet up with my family.
Sadly, the rumors didn't end with those concerning my issues with the king but also ones involving me and princess Jamila, claiming I'd gotten drunk and slept with her, I'd been knocked out and taken advantage of by her along with other things. Some of these rumors did require some explanation to my wives who wanted to make sure that I remained loyal to them on my trip and also had to come up with an excuse to give my kids who wanted to know what some of the rumors concerning me sleeping with Jamila meant. That lead to a very awkward talk that was fortunately pushed aside for a few months after I remembered an old method to handle these situations that my father taught me in which I made a deal with them. I told them to drop it and I would have their favorites made for dinner so it was different to the method my father would use in which he told me I could drop the subject or I could spend a week in the house, grounded.
Now, I was lying in bed with my body covered in sweat from my wives showing how much they missed me, and my wives were surrounding me with only the blanket covering their sweat covered bodies. It was times like these I wondered if I should go on long trips more often since I always loved them showing me how much they missed having me around. One thing was for sure though and that was I had had my fill of Arabia and was ready to go home which is something I was going to make clear to my family in the morning but for now I was going to get some sleep. With this in mind, I closed my eyes and allowed myself to drift off into the sweet realm of slumber while thinking about how to put things to my family in the morning.
3 days later
It's been three days since Toothless and I returned to the city after that whole trade route agreement mission and since then I've made it clear to my family that it was time to go home. Turns out they didn't need much convincing nor did the royals for different reasons since it turned out while I was away, a lot of things happened. In the case of my wives, they had to deal with a few nobles daughters trying to get into their good books to have an easier time to get to me and also noble men with no shame who saw my absence as an opportunity to try get my wives into bed with them and use their charm to convince them to help seal some business deals with me, The kids didn't have it any better since they had to deal with their stuck up children with them trying to force their way into being Chara's friends while Brant had to deal with the girls eye-fluttering, puppy dog eyes and their constant flirting. If that wasn't bad enough the attempts to kidnap Xiu had tripled after I left and although none of them succeeded, they did disturb Xiu who needed to be calmed down by her mother's before she'd stop crying. As for the royals, they were getting tired of the constant kidnapping attempts and the guards medical fees were costing a fortune since they kept challenging the kids who never lost to them in sparring and it was also destroying their confidence in themselves. Now we'd said our goodbyes and we were walking through the portal door, ready to go home and get a little peace and quiet in my own home, on my own island with my family.
