Chapter 6

Cullen Family 2

When I woke up the next morning fully rested, I already heard voices from the kitchen.

Charlie was probably on the phone with someone.

I thought about my dream. I had dreamed of Edward again and that did me good somehow. He drove away my nightmares and I was more than grateful to him for that.

I got up and stretched first thing, then went to the bathroom, got dressed and got ready.

I thought about what to wear for half an hour.

That was the first time. I usually put on what I had in my hand first. I was never that much of a fashionista. When I went out with friends in the evening in Phoenix, it was usually Angela who picked out my clothes. Angela ... Oh God, all those images came back to me ... That cold I had felt!

I squinted my eyes as fast as I could to forget the scene. Unfortunately, it didn't work right away.

I saw this pale woman with her flaming red hair and her blood red eyes, the eyes that haunted my every nightmare for the past few months.

I concentrated more, thought of Edward, and was grateful that the images disappeared.

Suddenly I bumped into something.

Crap, I had forgotten that I was just heading towards the kitchen when I thought of Angela. Ouch, that hurt. I had really run into the door. What a bummer, now I probably had a huge bruise on my shoulder. To make matters worse, I completely lost my balance and landed on my butt. Ouch!

"Bella? Did something happen to you?"

But that wasn't Charlie! Oh dear, Edward was suddenly standing in front of me! Couldn't it be any more embarrassing! Why didn't anyone ever warn me?

Edward looked at me rather shocked.

Oh yes, he had asked me a question. What was it again?

"Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?"

That was kind of convenient. As if he always knew what I was thinking.

I had to grin again, and Edward did the same.

I grabbed the hand he held out to me, and he pulled me up.

Charlie, still sitting in the kitchen, laughed his head off at my attempt to explain the rumbling, and Edward had great difficulty not doing the same.

After breakfast, we drove to Edward's house.

Was this still allowed to be called a house? It was more like a villa!

When we were in the house, I saw that it was really nicely decorated. It was very bright and open. We must have just been standing in the living room, because I saw a giant flat screen TV and a huge beige couch standing in the middle of the room. A glass coffee table was in front of it and two armchairs were also next to the couch. It looked very stylish!

Edward led me into the next room, the kitchen.

Here stood three women I did not know.

The smallest of them, she had to be my age, had short black hair that stuck out in all directions from her head. She was really small, almost a head smaller than me. But she looked very friendly.

Edward introduced her to me as Alice, as she immediately rushed up to me and took me in her arms.

"Hi Bella, it's so great to meet you. I'm not in your class, but I'm in your grade. I think we're going to be super friends. Oh, I'm so happy ..."

She was really just bouncing around the room.

I couldn't believe it; how could anyone be so psyched? But I liked them immediately.

I smiled at her.

Crap, I had forgotten my block!

But once again I hadn't counted on Edward, who suddenly grinned at me and held out my pad and pen.

"You left it at home. I thought you might need it!"

Thank you!

That was the first thing I wrote and held out to Edward.

He smiled. Suddenly he stood behind me, wrapped an arm around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder to watch me write.

I blushed slightly as I remembered that his mother was in the room with us.

Thank you, I am also pleased to meet you. Then I know at least two from my level.

I do hope that we will become friends!

... was the second thing I wrote and wanted to hand it to Alice.

Edward, however, held my hand and read it aloud. I looked at him thankfully and he pulled me a little closer to him.

I leaned against him and continued writing:

Hello, Mrs. Cullen! It's really nice to meet you. This house is really beautiful.

Edward's mother was a pretty woman. She had caramel-colored hair and a great figure, dressed for her age - which I estimated at twenty-five - and had a great figure.

When I looked into her face, I noticed that she also had golden eyes. Just like Alice and the other girl in the room, who was probably Edward's big sister Rosalie.

Wow ... she was pretty as a picture, probably a model. She had long golden blonde hair, a stunning figure and her clothes were very fashionable. But she smiled at me warmly.

Edward read it out loud again.

"Please call me Esmé, Bella! I'm happy to meet you, too. Charlie has already raved so much about you, and as of a few days ago, so does my son."

She chuckled.

Edward looked embarrassed again when I looked at him. He looked at the floor.

I thought it was sweet. I put my hand on his, which was around my waist, intertwined our fingers slightly and squeezed them a little.

He suddenly looked me in the eye, and I completely forgot that there were other people in the room, that I wanted to write something to them and that I had to breathe. When I got dizzy, however, Edward let go of me completely and with the words "I'll see where Emmett and Jasper are. Carlisle is still in the hospital," he left the room.

Had I done something wrong? I could not explain it to myself.

"Hello Bella, I am Rosalie! But please call me Rose. I'm not like Alice in your level, since I'm already eighteen - but in the one above you. I hope that we will become friends as well. It would make me happy!"

She held out her hand to me.

As suspected, it was cold, just like the hands of all the Cullens. What was that all about? Slowly I became curious!
