Chapter Sixty Nine
Angel was relieved when the doctors said Dean's nose was fine. Though it also made her really worry about why the hell it cracked the way it did. Trying not to think about it, she shook her head and gave herself a hard look in the mirror.
"Dean? You ready?" She called as she gave her hair another run through with her hairbrush.
"Just waiting on you." He called back.
Angel rolled her eyes as she walked out of the bathroom with a smile on her face. "Don't you dare blame me." She waved the brush at him. "You're the one who said you needed to redo your boot laces."
Dean chuckled as he sat up from the bottom on the bed. "Has Renee texted you yet?"
Angel picked up her phone and sighed when she noticed that she hadn't gotten a message from the woman, yet. Which probably meant she was still getting ready. "No, not yet."
"Then why are we rushing." He leaned against the table. "We might be here for an hour waiting for Renee to be done."
"Hey…"
"You can't tell me I'm wrong."
Angel opened her mouth to rebuttal but quickly closed it again. Being Renee's travel buddy and roommate for so long, she knew how the girl liked to take her time with getting herself together. And it showed.
"Not everyone can just run their fingers through their hair and say 'done'"
"Hey, I combed it today." Dean fired back. "Isn't this just a prelude to the night."
Angel cocked her head. "What do you mean?'
"How on earth did you think that going shopping for a double date was a good idea."
"First of off it was Renee's idea."
"There's a shock."
"It might turn out to be fun."
"Yeah fun, me and Jon sitting on those uncomfortable chairs outside of the woman's changing room, that just sounds like loads of fun."
"Remember, the nights not just going to be shopping. We have dinner and drinks to look forward to."
"Thank god for that."
Angel sighed as she sat on the bed and fixed her sock that was falling down in her shoe. "Fine, next time I'll make the plans. We'll go to a concert or see if there's an indie show in town, then head to a bar…"
Dean quickly pushed himself from the table making it bang against the wall. "See, that already sounds like a better idea." He waltzed in front of her. "You're speaking my language."
Angel chuckled before shaking her head and giving another glance at her phone. "Maybe we should head down to the lobby?" Renee had said that she and Jon would meet them at eleven and it was already eleven twenty.
"Or…." A sly smirk appeared on Dean's face and it sent shivers down her spine. "We could just wait here."
"Dean." She shook his head at him. "Don't start." She tried to scoot back away from the man that was advancing on her. "We don't have the time for that."
"Are you sure?"
He leaned over her, pushing her back so she was laying against the mattress. Those baby blues that were locked on her and that wicked smirk on his lips promised her all sort of things. Things that she wanted, needed.
Just when his lips were inches from hers, just when she was about to give herself up to the man above her, her phone buzzed in her hand.
Trying to get her head back, Angel took a deep breath. "I'm sure." She cleared the huskiness from her throat as she showed Dean her phone.
Reluctantly, Dean pushed himself off her and let her sit up. "Fine, but we're not finished here yet." He said with an almost growl like noise that made her breath hitch in her throat.
After readjusting her clothes to make it look like she hadn't just been seconds away from being mauled, they both made sure they had everything and made their way out of the room and down to the lobby.
As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, Angel saw both Renee and Jon standing there waiting for them.
"There they are!" Renee waved.
"Hey guys." Angel called as they crossed the lobby.
"Hey." Jon looked from her to Dean before pushing himself off the wall. "Long time no see."
"Sure is." Dean shook his hands.
Angel drew her brows together as she looked at both men in front of her. She had met Jon before, he would come and hang out behind the scenes every now and then, but this must have been the first time that she had seen Dean and Jon together.
It must be, because she were sure she would have realized how much Dean and Jon looked alike. They were both tall almost the same height, Jon had Dean beat by about an inch. Same build lean but muscular, Dean being a bit more on the built side. Probably due to the line of work he's in. Not to mention their fashion since was the same. Both men were wearing dark jeans, dark t-shirts and leather jackets.
Two of the biggest differences between the two men were, Jon had buzzed hair and green eyes, instead of Dean's messy long hair and blue eyes. Baffled, Angel couldn't stop herself from looking back and forth at the men. It was like a strange version on Parent Trap was being played here.
"Did you hear the plan the girls have ready for us?" Jon's voice broke her weird fixation.
"Oh yeah." Dean snickered.
"Hey!" Angel shook her head. "Let's just put this to rest. I had nothing to do with these plans. Renee all to blame for this."
"I feel attacked." Renee pouted.
Jon rolled his eyes as he put his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder. "I mean shopping, really babe?"
"What? You don't wanna see me and Angel trying on cute little outfits." She justified.
Both boys let out a sigh.
D.D.D
Dean groaned as he shifted in his chair. "How much longer?" He called to the two women in the changing rooms in front of him.
"Hold your horses." Renee called back to him.
Jon chuckled from beside him. "Welcome to my life." Dean nodded his head and leaned back.
"I can't believe you keep doing this."
"You'll get used to it."
Dean shook his head as he leaned back as far as he could in the stiff chair. "Angel's not a big shopper."
"You say that now, but things change when you get domestic."
"Domestic?"
Jon sighed as he pulled a wad of random paper from Renee's purse which was tucked between him and his chair. "Living together," He said wadding it up and throwing it at the trash can not too far away from them. "Before Renee and I lived together, I never went shopping with her. Now, now I go shopping about once a week with her. Actually, this is my second time shopping with her this week. We just had to stop at this little boutique down the street from our house on Wednesday."
"Man, you're not selling that domestic shit very well." Jon chuckled as he passed him another wadded-up piece of paper. Dean raised an eyebrow at it but still took it.
"So, have you thought about getting domestic yourself?" Jon asked as Dean lined up his shot.
It was his turn to chuckle. "Nah, it's way too early to think about that." He threw the paper, making it bounce off the wall before landing in the trash bin. "Angel just stayed over at my place for the first time this week."
"Yeah, it might be too early then."
Dean paused and stared at the trash bin. He hadn't thought about Angel moving in with him before but now that it was on his mind, it stirred a strange tightness in his chest. He rubbed his hand over his collarbone trying to ease the feeling as he watched a piece of paper land near the bin.
Jon let out a curse before he went rummaging into Renee's purse again.
"Um." He cleared his throat. "When did you know, you two decided that it was time to pull the trigger and live together?"
"When most of her shit was already at my place and when she basically stopped going home." He held out another ball of paper.
Dean nodded as he took it.
"Don't worry man, you'll know." Jon clapped him on the shoulder.
"Ready!" Renee's voice broke their conversation, making both of them look up.
"Get ready."
"Get ready?" Dean questioned the man sitting next to him.
Jon just nodded towards the two girls who were coming out of the changing room.
Dean turned his head towards them and gave a sharp inhale. In front of him was a sight. Angel was standing in front of him, dressed in the smallest pair of shorts that he had never seen. They were so small that the pockets were longer than the legs themselves. Not to mention that she was wearing the tightest shirt he had ever seen on her. And she wore a corset at work.
"You look so cute!" Renee squealed as she turned towards Angel.
Cute wasn't the word he would use.
"They're a little small." Angel said as she tugged on the shorts.
"Nah, that's how they are supposed to be." Renee told her as she adjusted the jacket that she was wearing over a small tank top. "What do you guys think?" She did a three-sixty spin.
Dean watched tantalized as Angel followed the woman's lead and turned around. He almost sighed when he saw just how good her ass looked.
"Looks good." Jon answered simply. "Don't like the pants with it.
"Think plan jeans would be better?"
"Yeah."
Dean blinked at the two of them, before he realized that Angel was looking at him. "Um…you look nice." He coughed.
Angel's face grew darker. "Thanks…"
"Outfit number two!" Renee lead Angel back into the changing room.
As soon as the two of them were out of sight, Dean sagged in his chair. "What the hell was that?" He knew that Angel didn't pick those pants. There was no fucking way.
"Did you really think that this was a real shopping trip?" Jon laughed. "Sit tight man, they're not here to buy anything."
Dean gulped.
A.A.A
"Renee, I'm not going out there." Angel said as she looked at herself in her the small mirror.
"Come on, this is the whole point of this."
Angel shifted in her spot. Renee had picked out a small red dress that showed more then it hid. It had the lowest V neck that he had never seen almost reached down to her navel, and then the skirt was so short that if she took more than a baby step her underwear would show.
"I get that you planned this to tease the boys, but I don't want the entire store to see my underwear."
The woman stepped up behind her and gave a look of awe.
"Dean will love it!"
She was sure he would, it was tight, small, and short. But she was sure he wouldn't like the rest of the world getting the same show as him. "Yeah but…"
"Come on girl, I picked out that dress because I knew you would look smoking in it." She said fixing her own little black dress. In what world did Renee dress more modest than she did? Angel questioned reality as she looked at the black knee length dress that had modest mesh covering her cleavage and sides.
"If you go out, I won't make you try on the green one."
Angel gave a glance at her stall and sighed. The green dress, which again was something that Renee had picked for her, looked more like someone took a couple of green straps and stitched them together. It was the thing that she was least excited to try on.
"I'm not happy about this."
A huge smile came to the woman's face as she pushed her out of the changing room before Angel had time to change her mind.
As soon as they stepped out into the store, Angel's eyes locked on Dean as his mouth dropped to the floor.
"Holy shit." He rubbed his face.
"I told you he would like it." Renee whispered in her ear as she sauntered over to Jon.
When Angel turned back to Dean, her eyes shot wide at the wicked look on his face and the pure want in his eyes. Those beautiful blue eyes ran over her like she was the most breathtaking view he had ever seen and boy did that make her feel on top of the world.
Though that didn't mean she was willing to parade herself around like Renee was doing.
"Do you like?"
"I do." Jon gave a nod as his eyes ran up and down his girlfriend. "You should get it."
"Looking good girls." A wolf whistle echoed loudly through the store.
A cold rush filled the area as everyone turned to see two young looking kids standing off to the side, near the men's clothing with cheeky smiles on their faces. Angel's stomach turned as she watched the two.
"Angel…I think it's time to go." Renee said hesitantly as she gestured towards the two men sitting in front of them. Slowly Angel turned to see both Jon and Dean sitting up so straight it looked like they had rods stuck down their backs.
"Couldn't agree with you more."
Getting quickly dressed into their regular clothes, both of them ran out to defuse the situation, which was literally pulling both males towards the checkout counter so that Renee could by her dress.
"What a dick." Dean gave a crack of his neck. "Who the fuck does that?"
"Assholes, that's who." Jon answered him.
"Now boys." Renee tried to sound calm. "You can't blame them, they're young idiots and it's not like the two of you didn't do the same thing when you were younger."
It looked like Jon opened his mouth to say something but quickly shut it. "They're still assholes."
"Yes, they are." Renee chuckled as she kissed her boyfriend's cheek and threw the dress on the counter. Jon stepped right up next to her and wrapped and arm around her waist.
She gave them a small smile before she turned toward Dean who was leaning against the wall near the door with his hands in jacket pocket. She slowly walked over and placed a hand on his arm.
"You alright there?" She asked him. "No need to get upset over some ass…"
"I'm fine." He looked at her. What she saw wasn't what she expected. There wasn't anger in those eyes of his, not even a hint. Nope, that hunger that she saw in them before was still raging in them. "Just thinking."
"Thinking?"
Dean smirked as he pushed himself forward. "Maybe you should get that dress."
Her face flushed hard. "Yeah? But I would never wear it anywhere."
"That's fine, all you need to do it wear it at my place." He winked.
"Dean!" She gasped as she pushed on his chest.
"It's not my fault, Darling. You gave me a taste of what's mine and now I crave it." He said as he licked his lips. "So, you better get used to this. Especially if you going to tease me like that." He gestured back to the changing room.
"It was Renee's idea." She told him.
"Oh, I know, but you're the one who went along with her."
Angel glanced away for a moment. She had.
"You two ready to get some food?" Renee asked holding up her bag.
…
"I've got to take a piss." Dean announced to the entire table making everyone groan at him as slid his chair and left three of them sitting there.
"Why do guys to that." Renee sighed looking at Jon.
"Don't ask me." Jon said putting his hands up. "It's just a guy thing."
Angel laughed at the bickering couple.
"What are you laughing at." Renee raised a brow. "That's your man who just called out that he had to pee without care in the world."
Angel gave a fake puff of her chest. "Yeah what about it?"
Jon laughed. "God damn, Angel you've really came out of the shell since the last time I've seen you."
"It's all thanks to a certain eccentric lunatic."
"You rang?" Dean voice came from behind her making her jump.
"That was a fast piss." Jon said as he sat down.
"Comes with being a wrestler. Always got to be ready to go." Dean paused. "I mean, you always have to be ready to get into the ring. So, speedy bathroom breaks are a must."
Everyone chuckled.
"What about this eccentric lunatic?" Dean asked.
"Oh, Renee was just giving you credit for getting me to come out of my shell." Angel took a sip of her drink. "Which I mean, it's true."
"Nah Darlin', all I did was give you a push and you did the rest."
"Awe aren't you cute." Renee cooed.
"Stop it."
"What?"
"That." Dean pointed at the huge smirk on the woman's face.
"Smiling?"
Dean rolled his eyes as Jon sighed.
"What? I'm sorry that I'm enjoying my best friend's boyfriend behind cute with her." She said as she took a drink of her wine.
"I wasn't trying to be cute."
"'Darlin', all I did was give you a push and you did the rest.'" Renee mimicked Dean. "Really? You weren't trying to be cute."
"I was telling the truth." He argued.
"Alright, Darlin'"
"Now kids," Jon said trying to keep peace, which Angel was thankful about. "can we stop fighting and just have a lovely dinner." He raised his voice trying to his deep voice to sound the least bit feminine.
Angel heard a snicker come from Dean as he sipped his drink.
"Sorry, Daddy." Renee said trying not to laugh.
"God." Dean shivered. "Please never say that again in front of me."
Jon shook his head. "Please never say that again."
Laughter filled the table and Angel's cheeks grew sore from smiling so much. This was refreshing.
"So, are you ready for your match tomorrow?" Jon asked as everything settled down.
"I'm always ready for a fight." Dean nodded. "I'm itching just thinking about it."
He really was. Angel glanced over at the man to see his leg was bouncing and his fingers started to tap his glace of whiskey.
D.D.D
Dean cleared his throat and gave his neck crack. He couldn't stop himself from thinking about the match that was drawing closer with each hour. He thought about the how he was going to punch Randy Orton in the face, break Batista's movie star face, and how was going to cut Hunter down a few notches.
"God." Jon's sighed. If half of what happened to you happened to me, I would be ready to hunt them down and…" The man looked like he was fighting something, and Dean understood completely. "I'm just surprised that you haven't gone straight after them."
"That's partly thanks to Roman, Seth, and this one." He said nudging Angel, making the girl chuckle a little. "Trust me, I would have."
If it wasn't for his three mental checks, he would have barged into Hunter's office and would show him why he was a master of pain, the king of the Death match. Dean took a deep breath as his shoulder twitched on its own.
Without a word, Angel put her hand on his leg. He knew that she was just trying to calm him down, which worked in some ways but not the way she was hoping. Now he was less focused on the fact that he wanted to beat Randy's face in, and now was focusing on the fact that Angel's small, warm hand was pretty high up on his thigh.
"You're a better man then I." Jon said.
Dean smirked as he grabbed the Angel's hand and moved it upwards. "I wouldn't say that." He glanced over at Angel as he forced her to give him a little squeeze.
Angel's brows drew together before widening a bit as she tried not to make a scene while pulling her hand away. Though she failed as she hit her hand on the table.
Renee cocked her head. "You ok over there?"
"Yeah." Angel blushed slightly. "I thought I touched a piece of gum." She carefully tried to cover up what just happened.
"If you did it was probably Dean's." Renee laughed. "I mean, weren't you chewing some when we first got here?"
"I spat it out before we walked in."
"Ew." Angel cringed. "You didn't?"
"I did." He nodded. "Did you think I was just holding the door for the chivalrous thought?"
"I mean…"
He chuckled at his girlfriend's honest reaction as she seemed disappointed that he didn't want to be nice and hold the door open for her. Truth be told, he did. His mama didn't raise no fool, he knew how to treat a lady. But then he couldn't help but enjoy the look on her face.
After their dinners arrived to the table the conversation seemed to settle down to talking about sports, whatever shows that Jon and Renee were watching at home. Apparently, they both were really into the Bachelor.
As the other couple argued a bit about two of girls on the show, Dean turned towards Angel and gave an over exaggerated eye roll, making her snicker a bit. "So, Angel, do you think the girl with the blond long hair and green eyes or the girl with long blonde-haired girl with blue eyes is going to get the rich, picky man to kiss her first."
"Nah, I bet it's going to be the slightly shorter blond-haired girl with greenish-blue eyes." Angel said playing along.
Renee clicked her tongue. "Oh, shut up. It's really not that bad."
"Yeah one of those blondes can juggle." Jon said. "She showed her talent turning their first date."
"Is that something you do during for first date?" Dean asked. "Did I do it wrong?"
"Can you juggle?" Angel asked him.
Instead of answering, Dean grabbed three of the buns out of the bowl in the middle of table.
"Oh god." Renee leaned back in her chair as he started to throw the bread up into the air.
After a few passes of the bread, Dean caught it and looked around to see that more than just his table was looking at him.
"Why am I not surprised that you can juggle." Jon laughed loudly.
"Gotta entertain yourself backstage somehow." He shrugged as he turned toward Angel. "So do get points for juggling?"
"Well you didn't do it on are first date," She pretending that shew as really thinking about it. "And you could have used pool balls back then."
"Damn." He snapped his fingers.
"I'll give you half points."
"I can do half points." He put the rolls back in the bowls as his ears perked up to hear a table near them whispering.
"Can you believe that?" One of the women said. "Who in their mind just starts throwing bread around?"
"That entire table is a little weird." The other said.
Lady I'll show you weird. Dean glanced over his shoulder.
"Dean?" Angel called him. "You alright?"
He nodded before scooting his chair closer to her. "Yep, just trying to figure out if there are any more random talents I should so you."
"Can you solve a Rubix Cube in a short amount of time."
"Nah, can't do that but I can peel the stickers off and rearrange them pretty quickly."
"That's cheating!" Angel told him giving him a smack on his arm.
"Anything to get the end result, baby." He gave a proud smirk.
"Stay away from my Rubix Cube." She waved her finger at him.
"Careful Angel, Dean's is known to bite." Renee warned making Angel give him a wary eye.
Dean gave a laugh as he gave a playful snap of his teeth. "She already knows that."
"Dean!" She squealed a little too loudly.
"Angel!" He mocked her.
As the two of them started at each other, Dean heard the women clear their throats. Without looking back at them, he raised an eyebrow with a smirk.
"Dean," Angel warned. "Don't."
"Don't what?"
"We all see that smirk." Renee told him. "Leave the pour ladies alone."
Dean threw his hands up. "I wasn't going to do anything."
"Uh-huh." Renee rolled her eyes.
"I wasn't."
"I might." Jon sighed. "Why are they so uptight? This isn't a fancy restaurant in any means of the name. Hell, there are peanut shells on the floor and I'm eating the greasiest onion rings I've ever had." He rubbed his hands on the napkin that sat on his lap.
"Maybe they're not used to yelling and bread juggling?" Angel shrugged her shoulders.
"Maybe." Dean wrapped his arm around her shoulders and leaned back in his chair. "Just wait until Jon unleashes is yodeling skills."
"Yodeling?" Jon shook his own head. "Nah, that's just my singing."
A.A.A
"Dude, slow down. Or you're going to be fighting tomorrow with a hangover." Angel laughed as Jon tried to warn Dean.
The man waved off the man as he took another sip from his drink. "Been there done that." He put the now empty glass on the bar top.
Jon went to say something again, but Angel shook her head. "Save your breath." She sighed. "I've already tried to reason with him before." She sighed. "Trust me, just let him do his thing."
"You might have to worry more about to worry about him wrestling drunk." Jon gave her a pat on the shoulder.
Angel let out a sigh as she watched her boyfriend order another drink, which was his fourth since they got to the bar. "At least it's Extreme Rules." He wouldn't have to be on his 'A' game the whole time because there was some wiggle room when it came to the rules. Which also meant that he had to be ready for anything. Especially because they were going up against Randy Orton and Triple H.
"I'll sober up before then." Dean once again waved everything off. "I'll be sober before I head to bed tonight."
"That's not possible." Angel laughed at him. "Unless you're going to stay up until like five." Dean turned sloppy on his stool and gave him a look that both send a hot shiver down her back and made her want to laugh. "Don't start."
Everyone laughed.
By the time, Angel did end up getting Dean back into the hotel room and ready for bed, she did wonder if the man was going to be ok for his match tomorrow. Though she knew that she was worrying too much…. Which she had to sigh as Dean stumbled over his own feet as he moved towards the bottom of the bed.
"You going to be alright?"
"I'm fine, Darlin'" Dean chuckled to himself as he laid backwards. "Com' on, you've seen me worse than this. Hell, I've seen you worse than this."
"True but at least I didn't have an important match…"
"Nope, you were just in the hands of a very horny man." He said making her blush. "What the worse that could happen, I fight with a headache? Not much new there."
"No, the worse thing that happens is that you aren't fit for the fight at all and you make Seth and Roman fight alone."
"Won't happen."
"Oh, won't it." She had to laugh at the cockiness in his voice.
"You have no idea who many matches I had to fake being sober in." He sounded almost proud of the feat.
"Yeah, but you're not going to do that tomorrow." She told him as she gathered up her PJs from the floor.
"No, tomorrow I wanna be able to see straight when I punch Hunter in the face." Malice rolled off his tongue.
"Then roll over and go to sleep."
Dean sighed but did just that, he rolled over onto his side of the bed. She started to get herself ready for bed. As she took off her shirt and jeans, she heard a groan come from the bed.
"I thought that you were going to bed."
"Can't go to sleep when there's a show like that going on." He said lazy pointing at her. "Add a little bit of hip shaking and I'll be sobered up in no time."
"Go to bed."
"Don't be like that Darlin'" He playfully whined as she put on her t-shirt and shorts.
She turned towards the man in bed who had lovely propped himself up on his pillow to watch her. She almost sighed as she looked at him, how could a man look so good just lying there.
Dean's hair was super messy from the drunken walk from the lobby to the hotel room, his face was slightly flushed from the alcohol. Stubble lined his cheeks and jaw. That crocked little smirk was plastered on his face and it had no signs of going away as he stared at her with those baby blues.
But that was only half of it. Dean had made himself at home, his arms were tucked back behind his head, his hands disappearing behind the pillow and headboard. The small white tank top that he liked to wear to bed was twisted in such a way that his muscular stomach peeked out like it was teasing her.
If she wasn't completely drained from the date or the fact that she had a busy day tomorrow, she might have reminded Dean that he warned he wasn't done with her earlier.
Shaking her head, she walked over to her side of the bed and pulled the blanket and comforter up the best she could with Mr. Two Hundred and Twenty-Five Pounds laying on the top of it.
Tugging on the blanket a couple of times, she got in and took her time to make herself at home. After she was happy under the covers, she rolled over and gave Dean a sleepy smile only to realize that the man was already out.
Her smile grew as she slid closer to him and kissed him on his cheek. "Goodnight," She whispered so that she didn't wake him.
Angel then rolled back over, turned off her light and closed her eyes. Right before sleep was about to take her, she felt an arm wrap around her, and a scratchy face snuggle into the nook between her head and shoulder.
"Goodnight"
Brookeworm3: Well there was no funny look on Dean's face because I believe that he and Jon would have already met, due to him coming around to see Renee. Sorry...But you did get a kind of funny reaction from Angel.
Labinnacslove: I mean it's Dean it's hard for him not to be a least a little silly. And Angel's going to be stepping up more and more...and it might get her into some trouble.
Canadice: You are the only one who seemed to say anything about that! I'm glad you caught it. Don't worry, it will come up.
Katara Melody Cullen: I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!
Guest #1: I hope you liked this chapter as well!
MamaChele81: I'm so glad that you like the story, I've been working very hard on it. Don't worry I'm not ready for it either.
Guest #2: I hope the double date was worth the wait and yes Seth turning on them is going to be so sad, I get worked up thinking about it.
Samcoo 12: Wow that's a lot of reading. I'm glad that you like it. I've always liked stories where the inserted character doesn't change the outcome of the plot but helps move it or changes the way they got there in some way. Thank you for the review.
