Day 3 - Gravel (verb: make someone annoyed or angry)

Team Natsu make it back from the mission worse for wear. They're all bandaged up.

"Hey guys! We're back!"

"What happened?" Mira questions.

"Oh, you know the usual. Mira, can I get a milkshake?"

"You shouldn't drink that; you are fat enough as it is.." Happy snickers.

A lightning bolt hits Happy. "You're a little shit, you know that right?" Laxus sits on the stool next to Lucy. "What the hell happened to you Blondie?"

"Ugh, don't even get me started."

"Well, I guess the S-class mission will have to wait."

Lucy takes a sip of her shake. "Mmkay. Evergreen and I promised Aries a girls day anyways remember?"

"Oh yeah, Evergreen has been talking about that non-stop. Why don't you go home and rest?"

"I will be, I just wanted to check in with the guild."

Laxus stops a chair from hitting Lucy. "How about now?"

"Fine, fine. I just got to make plans with Evergreen-"

"EVERGREEN!"

"Yes Laxus?"

"Go back to Blondie's place to work out the details on your girl's day."

Evergreen grabs Lucy's arm, "let's go Lu!"

Time Skip 3 days

"Alright so here's what we got on the board."

Lucy and Laxus discuss all of the different jobs, weighing the pros and cons.

"Well, this one would be good. Plus I get a good chunk for rent. Ms. Landlady was kind enough to hold my apartment for me while I was gone on the 100-year quest."

"I'm surprised she hasn't kicked you out."

"She doesn't show it but she's actually a big softy."

There's not much she can choose from so they chose an escort job for a noble woman. There's been dark mages threatening them so they want wizards that will help them get to their destination safely.

The job leaves them all upset with the requester. There were supposed to be dark mages after the person but they lied. There is no group threatening them. Instead, it's some noblewoman who was hoping it would be Laxus taking the job. She tries to get him to ride in the carriage with her. He tells her he needs to be on the lookout, so he declines. Not to mention he gets motion sickness, but no one needs to know about that...

The whole group is annoyed with the noblewoman who keeps complaining that Lucy is there. She also talks smack about her.

Lucy makes a mental note to herself that she needs to start researching which noble family she will be helping.

When they set up camp Lucy volunteers to get the firewood. The noblewoman scoffs at the prospect of her being able to carry wood. Lucy and Taurus come back both hauling big piles of wood, shutting the woman up. Sagittarius hunts with Laxus. Bickslow sets up the tents while Freed and Evergreen cook. The noblewoman tries to get Laxus to sleep in the carriage with her.

"No thanks."

She complains, "I need someone to protect me."

Lucy asks Loke to come out on his own magic to guard the carriage. He flirts with the woman which annoys her.

After days of putting up with the woman, Lucy has to put up with even more shit when the man the noblewoman is marrying is the son of the man Lucy was supposed to marry. She's never going to complain about Natsu wanting to take dangerous fighting jobs ever again. She hopes there's some kind of monster on their way back to unleash her frustration.

The others are surprised at how composed she's been the majority of the time during the job.

Laxus apologizes, "I'm so sorry blondie, I didn't know it was going to turn out like that."

"It's not an issue Laxus, none of us knew. I put that part of my life behind me but I still should have recognized the name, seeing as how they are a noble family that was at many of my father's gatherings, and they held quite a few of their own. When my father wasn't around, that woman and her mother always had nasty things to say about my mother and me."

"Well, I'll make it up to you, somehow."

"How about a big monster hunting job where we can wreak havoc and cause destruction?"

Laxus laughs, "As soon as it comes in, it's all ours."

Bickslow walks up and puts his arm around Lucy, "Yeah I would really like to see what else you can do with that whip of yours." He gives her a perverted grin, his tongue hanging out.

Before Laxus can shock Bickslow, Lucy beats him to the punch and Lucy Kicks him sending the man flying. Bickslow's babies barely catch him.

"Damn Blondie, that was quicker than lightning."

"It's an automatic reaction now when someone annoys me. Bickslow really should know better by now."

"Like Ever with her fan." To prove his point, Ever hits Bickslow on the head with her fan when his babies bring him back.

"Between you two, Bickslow may end up with permanent brain damage by the time we get back to the guild," Laxus states.

"I think Bickslow already has brain damage at this point."

"Freed!" Bickslow shouts.

Lucy laughs as the Thunder Legion begins to bicker. Laxus really likes hearing her laugh and that she gets along with his team. No matter how much his team can sometimes annoy him, they mean everything to him. That is one of the main things he's looked for in a woman, someone who can handle the Thunder Legion. It's really no surprise though that Lucy can since she is on a team with Natsu and Gray who are always fighting. Erza can be a little weird. Wendy and Carla are normal. Happy is an annoying little shit sometimes. So yeah, it's really no surprise she can handle his team.

"I wonder which one is more annoying," Laxus speaks out loud.

Lucy looks at him, "huh?"

"Which one is more annoying? The Thunder Legion or Team Natsu."

"My team is always breaking into my home, sleeping in my bed, eating all of my food, making a mess. That's mainly Natsu and Happy. Gray breaks in to read my manuscripts and Juvia is never too pleased when she finds out especially because sometimes Gray will be in his boxers, unknowingly of course. When Erza, Wendy and Carla break in they are considerate enough to have tea waiting for me. What about yours?"

"Bickslow is the only one dumb enough to do what Natsu and Happy do. But Freed sometimes breaks in to make my bed, do my laundry, and clean my house. He even does grocery shopping for me. Evergreen tries to decorate my house, but that leads to her and Freed bickering."

"That's not too bad. I wish someone on my team would be as considerate as Freed."
