The Cram-O-Matic

After the students had the Max Soup, Master Mustard decided to call it a day. Clyde exits the dojo and looks around for the Louds and soon spot them near the bridge where the Alolan Diglett trainer was, setting up camp and making dinner.

"Hey. guys." said Clyde. The Louds look at Clyde and smile.

"Hi, Clyde. How are you doing?" asked Lincoln.

"I passed the second trial." said Clyde.

"Congratulations, Clyde." said Lincoln.

"So what did you have to do for your second trial?" asked Lana.

"Find some Max Mushrooms." said Clyde.

"What are Max Mushrooms?" asked Lincoln. Clyde went on to tell them about what he learned about Gigantamax Pokemon, getting everyone's interest.

"That Gigantamax stuff sounds so cool." said Lincoln.

"I wonder if any of our Pokemon can Gigantamax." wondered Lucy.

"Well maybe tomorrow we can ask Master Mustard what Pokemon can do it." suggested Clyde.

"Good idea." said Luna.

"So did anything happen while you were looking for those Max Mushrooms?" asked Lincoln.

"Yeah. I found some Max Mushrooms in a tunnel and Klara comes along and tries to get them first." said Clyde. Leni growls in response to hearing Klara's name.

"What did she do?" asked Leni.

"She challenged me to a Pokemon battle." said Clyde.

"How did you do?" asked Leni with anticipation.

"I was able to beat her." said Clyde. Leni smiles in response.

"Good." said Leni. Lana looks at Lincoln.

"Hey, Lincoln." said Lana.

"What's up, Lana?" Lincoln replies.

"I caught a Silicobra a while ago, but it's pokeball suddenly disappeared." said Lana.

"Remember when I caught that Pidove during our first Dynamax Battle?" asked Lincoln.

"Oh yeah! Now I remember. I have more than six Pokemon with me so she got sent to storage." said Lana.

"Want me to help you get her back?" asked Lincoln.

"Maybe later." said Lana. "Can you at least show me how to get her back?" Lincoln nods and shows Lana and the others how to access her Pokemon Storage on her Rotom Phone. After that, everyone had dinner, except for Clyde who was full from the Max Soup. Lincoln's Rotom Phone suddenly chimed and Lincoln looks at it to see his mom on the Caller ID. Lincoln turns on video chat and sees the rest of his family and Clyde's dads on and around the Loud family's couch.

"Hi, kids. How are you doing in Galar?" asked Lynn. Sr. Lincoln gave them an update on what he and the others were up to and accomplished.

"Is that outfit comfortable and not itchy?" asked Harold in regard to Clyde's dojo uniform.

"It's comfortable, not itchy, and very durable." said Clyde.

"That's good to hear." said Howard. Lola walks in front of Lincoln.

"Look at all the pearl stuff I found!" said Lola as she holds out all the Pearls, Big Pearls, and Pearl Strings she found, shocking Lori and Rita.

"Are those pearl necklaces?!" asked Lori, regarding the Pearl Strings.

"Yeah! And I found them lying all over the beaches here on the Isle of Armor, just lying in the sand for the taking." said Lola with excitement. After some more talking, the call ended.

"I think it's time to get some sleep." said Lincoln as he stretches.

"Yeah." said Luna. Everyone goes into their tents and fall asleep. The next morning after everyone had breakfast, they all head to the dojo and go inside where Master Mustard, Ms. Honey, and all the other students were gathered in the arena area.

"Good morning, Clyde." said Master Mustard.

"Good morning, Master Mustard." Clyde responds.

"Now that everyone is here, we can get started." said Master Mustard. Everyone focuses their attention on Master Mustard. "Clyde and Klara; please step forward." Clyde and Klara do so. "Since you two are the only ones who passed the second trial, you two will be the ones to take the final trial."

"What's the final trial, Master Mustard?" asked Clyde.

"It's simply a one-on-one battle between you and Klara. Whoever wins will be the one to earn the dojo's secret armor." explained Master Mustard. Clyde and Klara look at each other.

'So I have to battle Klara to earn the secret armor, huh?' Clyde asked himself.

'I have to battle him?! But he's already defeated me yesterday!' Klara said to herself.

"Just so you know, I'm already aware that the two of you already battled in the Warm-Up Tunnel yesterday and that Clyde won." said Master Mustard. Clyde and Klara were surprised by this.

"How did you know?" asked Klara.

"I have my ways." said Master Mustard with a smile. "Anyway, Your third trial will begin in two days; so use that time to train up your Pokemon."

"Yes, Master Mustard." said Clyde and Klara in unison. Master Mustard turns and heads towards the living room. Lincoln and his sisters walk over to Clyde.

"So you have to battle Klara?" asked Lincoln.

"I guess so." said Clyde.

"I hope you beat her!" said Leni as she turns to glare at Klara who was glaring back at her.

"Well Clyde's already beaten her like Master Mustard just said. I'm sure the little dude can do it again." said Luna.

"You can do it, Clyde!" said Lana.

"We believe in you!" said Lola.

"Thanks, everyone." said Clyde. "So what are you guys going to do?"

"We're going to look for more Alola Digletts for that trainer." said Luna.

"And capture some more Pokemon." said Lucy.

"Well I'm going to look for more pearls." said Lola. "Might as well. I'm out of Heal Balls, so I can't catch more Pokemon."

"You want more Heal Balls?" a voice said. Lincoln, his sisters, and Clyde to see a boy with short brown hair, wearing a pink sweater with the dojo's logo over what looked like a white dress shirt, brown shorts, white socks and brown shoes.

"Who are you?" asked Lana.

"I'm Hyde. Master Mustard's son." replied the boy, now identified as Hyde.

"Do you train here at the dojo also?" asked Clyde.

"No. I'm more into inventing then training." replied Hyde. Lola walks over to Hyde.

"So you know where I can get more Heal Balls?" asked Lola.

"Actually, I have something that can make Heal Balls." replied Hyde. He then points to something that looks like a pressure cooker with a blue bird's head that's connected to a red plastic canister.

"What's that thing?" asked Lana.

"That is my latest invention. I present to you, the Cram-O-Matic!" said Hyde.

"Does this thing even work?" asked Lola.

"It does." said Hyde. "The only problem is that it doesn't have enough power."

"What does it need?" asked Clyde.

"Five hundred Watts." replied Hyde. Lincoln walks over to Hyde while taking his Rotom Phone out of his pocket.

"Here. I'll give you the Watts you need." said Lincoln. Hyde turns towards Lincoln with a surprised look on his face.

"Really? You'll just give me the Watts?" asked Hyde.

"Sure. I can get more Watts anytime." said Lincoln.

"Thanks. It would have taken me forever to get them myself." said Hyde. "Me and the outdoors are not really compatable with each other."

"Much like Lana and baths." said Lola. Lana just shrugs in response.

"Anyway. All you have to do is place four items into the Cram-O-Matic and it'll combine them to make an entirely different item." explained Hyde.

"So what would I need to make Heal Balls?" asked Lola.

"As thanks for the Watts, I'll tell you what you'll need." said Hyde. "You just need four Pink Apricorns."

"Apricorns?" replied Lincoln.

"They're a kind of large nut that can be found in berry trees here in the Isle of Armor." explained Hyde. Lola walks past Lincoln and the others.

"Okay. Pearl searching will be put on hold." said Lola. "I got some Apricorns to find."

"We'll help you, Lola." said Lincoln. Everyone else confirmed that they would also help.

"Thanks, guys." said Lola. Everyone then exits the dojo and start looking for berry trees. They find a few in the area and started to shake them. They found several berries, along with Apricorns of various colors. They let Lola hold onto the Pink Apricorns that they were able to find. They kept the other ones in case they wanted to try making pokeballs with them. Clyde was shaking a tree, making some berries fall out when a large apple falls out of it and lands on the ground.

"Hey. I could use a snack." said Clyde. As he reaches for the apple, it turned around and Clyde saw the leaves on the apple each had a black eye on it. Clyde realized that the apple wasn't an apple, but a Pokemon. He quickly takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Applin, the Apple Core Pokemon. As soon as it's born, it burrows into an apple. Not only does the apple serve as its food source, but the flavor of the fruit determines its evolution." said the Rotom Phone. Clyde pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.

"Let's go, Kirlia." said Clyde, throwing Kirlia's pokeball and releasing him. The Applin glares at Kirlia. "Kirlia, Psybeam!" Kirlia unleashes a multicolored beam of energy at Applin and hits it, knocking it back. Applin turns around, then suddenly turns back around while making a frightening glare, startling Kirlia and making him fall over, causing super effective damage. "Oh yeah? Kirlia, use Draining Kiss!" Kirlia runs to Applin and kisses it, draining a good amount of its stamina, doing super effective damage, and healing Kirlia. Seeing that the Applin was looking a little exhausted, Clyde takes out a pokeball and throws it at Applin, sucking it in and capturing it. "Yes! I caught an Applin!" The pokeball suddenly disappears to storage. Clyde decides to use his Rotom Phone to swap his Bouffalant for Applin. Clyde also takes the opportunity to use his Rotom Phone to look at his new Applin's information. "Okay. This says that my new Applin's a girl, she's part grass type and part dragon type, she knows Withdraw and Astonish, and she has the Ripen ability which doubles the effect of whatever berry she eats. With the Louds, they went to the Soothing Wetlands and searched the trees in that area. They found a few more Pink Apricorns, along with some berries and other different-colored Apricorns.

"How many Pink Apricorns do we have?" asked Lola.

"I think we have eight of them." said Lucy.

"That should get you two Heal Balls from that Cram-O-Matic thing." said Lincoln.

"That'll do for now until we find more Pink Apricorns or the next time we're at a Pokemon Center's store." said Lola. They all start to leave the Soothing Wetlands when Clyde shows up.

"Hey, guys." said Clyde.

"Hi, Clyde." replies Lincoln. "How are you doing?" Clyde takes out his Applin's pokeball and lets her out of it. "Wow. You caught a new Pokemon."

"Yep. It's called an Applin." said Clyde. Lincoln kneels down to look at her.

"It's nice to meet you, Applin." said Lincoln. Suddenly, Applin seemed to sense something. She hops over to a nearby tree where a multicolored apple was sitting. Applin sniffs it for a while before eating it in one bite. "Guess she was hungy." All of a sudden, Applin twitches and starts to glow.

"Whoa! Applin's evolving!" said Clyde. Everyone watches as Applin starts to change shape. When the glowing stopped, they see that Applin was now a green, wormlike Pokemon with the top part of an apple of her head with a horn sticking out of it, she had yellow eyes, the sides of the apple formed wings and the bottom part of the apple was at the end of her tail. "Wow. Evolving on the very day I caught her." Clyde takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the newly evolved Applin.

"Flapple, the Apple Wing Pokemon and the evolved form of Applin. If it stretches its neck, the strong aroma of its nectar pours out. The scent is so sickeningly sweet that one whiff makes other Pokemon faint." said the Rotom Phone.

"Almost like when Lana lifts her arms up, she makes people that are within a foot of her faint." said Lola.

"Yeah!" cheers Lana as she raises her arms, releasing a foul body odor that almost makes everyone throw up.

"Lana! Would a bath more than once a month kill you?!" asked Lola.

"Maybe not; but I'm not taking any chances." said Lana.

"Ugh! Let's just get back to the dojo and make me some Heal Balls!" said Lola. Clyde looks at his Rotom Phone at Flapple's information.

"This says that my new Flapple learned Wing Attack when she evolved." said Clyde. "She also knows Growth, Twister, Acid Spray, Acrobatics, and Leech Seed."

"That's awesome, Clyde. Maybe Flapple can come in handy when you battle Klara in two days." said Lincoln. Leni growls in response to hearing Klara's name.

"Probably." said Clyde. Remembering Flapple's Ripen ability, Clyde takes a Pecha Berry he found in the berry tree he found Applin in and gave it to Flapple. They all went back to the Master Dojo and go in. They go over to Hyde and gave him the Pink Apricorns.

"Excellent." said Hyde. He turns to the Cram-O-Matic and activates it. He lifts the lid open and puts four of the Pink Apricorns into it. "Now I just turn this dial here and..." Hyde turns the dial on the front of the Cram-O-Matic and a few seconds later, the bird head tilts forward, opens its beak, and coughs up a Heal Ball.

"That is so cool!" said Lincoln.

"Indeed it is." said Hyde. He uses the other four Pink Apricorns to make another Heal Ball. Lola walks over and picks up the Heal Balls.

"Thanks." said Lola.

"You're welcome." said Hyde.

"Can the Cram-O-Matic make other object besides pokeballs?" asked Lana.

"Yes it can." said Hyde as he pulls a book out of his desk and hands it to Lincoln. "This is a book containing recipes for items you can make with the Cram-O-Matic." They all look through it.

"Awesome." said Lana.

"Can we use the Cram-O-Matic if we want to make some of these things?" asked Lucy.

"Of course. You're free to use it as much as you want. After all, if it wasn't for the Watts you gave me, this wouldn't be working right now." said Hyde.

"Thanks, Hyde." said Lincoln. They all then exit the dojo and look at each other.

"So what should we do now?" asked Lana.

"I have a trial to prepare for; so I'm gonna train my Pokemon until then." said Clyde.

"Maybe I'll train my Pokemon also." said Lincoln. "We still have our Gym Challenges to do."

"Good point." said Luna.

"I'll train my Pokemon also." said Lucy.

"Me, too." said Lana.

"So will I." said Leni.

"I'm gonna do more pearl hunting." said Lola.

"We should also look for Alolan Digletts for that guy near the bridge." said Lincoln.

"Good call, buddy." said Clyde.

"Then we all know what our plans are for the next two days?" asked Lincoln. Everyone else nods. "So we'll meet back here for meals and when it's almost time for sleep."

"Good plan, bro." said Luna.

"I guess we're free to do what we want for now." said Lana.

"Meet you all back here for lunch." said Lincoln.

"Okay." everyone else says. They all leave to continue their exploration of the Isle of Armor.
