More Alolan Pokemon
After lunch, Lincoln let Rockruff out of his pokeball and gives him the Hard Stone.
"What's that, Lincoln?" asked Lana.
"It's called a Hard Stone." replied Lincoln. "It increases the power of rock type moves of the Pokemon that holds it."
"Cool." said Lana. She reaches into her backpack and pulls out the purple pouch she found in Potbottom Desert and shows it to Lincoln. "Hey, Lincoln, you have any idea what this is?" Lincoln takes it, opens it and looks in it.
"I think this is Soft Sand." said Lincoln. "If you give this to a Pokemon to hold, its ground type attacks will become stronger."
"You think I should give this to Drilbur?" asked Lana.
"I would highly recommend it." replied Lincoln, giving Lana the Soft Sand back. Lana lets Drilbur out of her pokeball and gives her the Soft Sand.
"I wonder if that machine back at the dojo can make more stuff that could make our Pokemon stronger." said Luna.
"I still have the recipe book Hyde gave me." said Lincoln. "But let's go to that Diglett trainer first and see if we have enough Digletts for another Alolan Pokemon."
"Good idea." said Lana. After they packed their cooking stuff, they went over to the Alolan Diglett trainer to see their progress.
"Hi, kids!" said the Diglett trainer with an excited look on his face.
"Hi." replied Lincoln. "You seem very happy."
"Indeed I am!" said the Diglett trainer. "You have found over 100 of my Digletts." Everyone was surprised by this revelation.
"Whoa!" said Lincoln. "We've made more progress than we thought."
"Yes you have!" said the Diglett trainer. "For all your hard work, I'm giving you several Alolan Pokemon!" He then takes out six pokeballs and tosses them up, releasing the Pokemon inside. One was a light orange brown Pokemon with blue eyes, yellow cheeks and ears, white-tipped paws and feet, and a long tail with a yellow, lightning bolt-shaped with rounded edges that the Pokemon seems to be riding on at the end of it. Leni looks at the Pokemon and takes out her Rotom Phone and points it.
"Raichu, the Mouse Pokemon, and the fully evolved form of Pichu. If its electric pouches run empty, it raises its tail to gather electricity from the atmosphere." said the Rotom Phone.
"An Alolan Raichu is part electric type and part psychic type." said the Diglett trainer.
"This Pokemon looks so adorable!" said Leni.
"And it looks so cool that it looks like it's surfing on its tail in midair." said Lincoln.
"Can I have this one?" asked Leni.
"Sure." said Lincoln. The Alolan Diglett trainer hands Leni the pokeball for Raichu.
"Yay." Leni said with glee. She looks at her Rotom Phone at her new Raichu's information. "This says that my new Raichu is a girl, she knows a lot of attacks like Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Thunder Wave, Play Nice, Sweet Kiss, Psychic, and other moves. She has the Surge Surfer abiility which doubles her speed if something called Electric Terrain is around."
"That's awesome!" said Lincoln. Just then, Leni's Raichu's pokeball vanishes, surprising her.
"Where did my Raichu go?" asked Leni.
"Oh. You must have six Pokemon with you already." said Lincoln. "If you want, I can help you get her back."
"Thanks, Linky. I'll do it later." said Leni, Lucy was staring at a Pokemon with black skin with a gray belly that looked like it was wearing a skull on its head and was holding a long bone that had blue fire at each end of it. Lucy takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Marowak, the Bone Keeper Pokemon, and the evolved form of Cubone. The cursed flames that light up the bone carried by this Pokémon are said to cause both mental and physical pain that will never fade." said the Rotom Phone.
"Cursed fire?" replied Lucy. "Sounds wicked."
"An Alolan Marowak is part fire type and part ghost type." said the Alolan Diglett trainer. Lucy smiles a little bit.
"A ghost Pokemon that wields cursed fire?!" replied Lucy. "I want this Pokemon!" The Alolan Diglett trainer hands Lucy the pokeball for Marowak, which then vanishes to storage due to her already having six Pokemon as well. Lucy takes out her Rotom Phone and looks up her new Marowak's information. "This says my Marowak is a girl, she knows Shadow Bone which sounds cool, False Swipe, Headbutt, Focus Energy, Flame Wheel, Hex which also sounds cool, Fling, and Stomping Tantrum. She has the Cursed Body ability. I know about that ability because I learned about it from my new Frillish." The next Pokemon looked like a palm tree with a very long neck, three coconut heads at the top of it, and a fourth one growing out of its tail. Lana couldn't help but stare as she takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Exeggutor, the Coconut Pokemon, and the evolved from of Exeggcute. This Pokémon's psychic powers aren't as strong as they once were. The head on this Exeggutor's tail scans surrounding areas with weak telepathy." said the Rotom Phone.
"An Alolan Exeggcutor is part grass type and part dragon type." said the Alolan Diglett trainer.
"Dragons are cool." said Lana. "I guess I can take this Pokemon." The Alolan Diglett trainer hands Lana the pokeball for Exeggutor which then vanishes to storage. Lana uses her Rotom Phone to look up her new Exeggutor's information. "This says my new Exeggutor is a boy, he knows lots of moves like Stomp, Wood Hammer, and Psyshock. He has the Frisk ability which can see if a Pokemon he's facing has an item with it.
"Now here's a special treat for you kids." said the Alolan Diglett trainer as he waves his hand towards the last three Alolan Pokemon. One was a black and red, catlike Pokemon with long tufts of fur coming out of its cheeks; the next one was a blue, seal-like Pokemon with a light blue collar around its neck and a pink nose; and the third one was a beige, owl-like Pokemon that had two leaves on its chest that look like a bow tie.
"What's so special about these Pokemon?" asked Lola.
"In Alola, trainers that are just starting out are given the option of one of these three Pokemon." said the Alolan Diglett trainer.
"I remember when I first got Scorbunny several days ago. I had the option of which Pokemon out of three to choose." said Lincoln. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the cat Pokemon.
"Litten, the Fire Cat Pokemon. Trying to pet Litten before it trusts you will result in a nasty scratch from its sharp claws. Be careful." said the Rotom Phone.
"Litten is a fire type." said the Alolan Diglett trainer. Lincoln then points his Rotom Phone at the seal Pokemon.
"Popplio, the Sea Lion Pokemon. If Popplio want to create big, powerful balloons, they must be persistent. It takes daily practice for these Pokémon to develop their skills." said the Rotom Phone.
"Popplio is a water type." said the Alolan Diglett trainer. Lincoln then points his Rotom Phone at the owl Pokemon.
"Rowlet, the Grass Quill Pokemon. During the day, it builds up energy via photosynthesis. At night, it flies silently through the sky, on the prowl for prey." said the Rotom Phone.
"And Rowlet is part grass and part flying." said the Alolan Diglett trainer. Lola runs up to the Popplio and hugs it.
"This Pokemon is so cute!" said Lola. "I want this one!"
"Okay, Lola." said Lincoln. The Alolan Diglett trainer hands Lola the pokeball for Popplio. The pokeball then vanishes to storage. Lola uses her Rotom Phone to swap her Azurill for Popplio. She then uses her Rotom Phone to look up her new Popplio's information.
"This says my new Popplio is a girl, she knows Pound, Growl, and Water Gun; and she has the Torrent ability which makes her water attacks stronger when she's very tired." said Lola.
"Just so you know, when Popplio is fully evolved, she becomes part water type and part fairy type." said the Alolan Diglett trainer.
"Ooh. That sounds like she would be so cute!" said Lola.
"Hey. Where did that Rowlet go?" asked Lincoln. Everyone looks and sees that the Rowlet was gone. As they looked around, they notice some movement coming from Lucy's backpack. Out of curiosity, Lucy opens it and sees Rowlet inside.
"Why is it in my backpack?" asked Lucy.
"Rowlets usually feel more relaxed in tight, dark places." explained the Alolan Diglett trainer.
"You mean like coffins?" asked Lucy.
"That's...one good example." said the Alolan Diglett trainer in a creeped-out tone of voice. "And on a slightly less creepy related topic; when a Rowlet is fully evolved, it becomes part ghost type instead of part flying." This fact really catches Lucy's interest.
"Now I really want this Pokemon." said Lucy. The Alolan Diglett trainer then returns Rowlet to its pokeball and hands it to Lucy. The pokeball then vanishes to storage. Lucy uses her Rotom Phone to look up her new Rowlet. "This says my Rowlet is a boy, he knows Tackle, Leafage, and Growl; and he has the Overgrow ability, which is like Lola's new Popplio's Torrent ability, but for grass moves." She then uses her Rotom Phone to swap her Gothita for Rowlet.
"That's so cool!" said Clyde. He suddenly feels something rubbing against his leg. He looks down to see the Litten, nuzzling his leg.
"I think Litten likes you, kid." said the Alolan Diglett trainer.
"Well, I am kind of a cat person." said Clyde. "Do you think I can have this Pokemon, guys?"
"Go for it." said Lincoln. The Alolan Diglett trainer hands Clyde the pokeball for Litten. The pokeball then vanishes to storage. Clyde then uses his Rotom Phone to swap his Slowpoke for Litten and look up his information.
"Okay. This says my new Litten is a boy, he knows Scratch, Growl, and Ember; and he has the Blaze ability, which is like Torrent and Overgrow, but for fire attacks." said Clyde.
"My Raboot has the Blaze ability also." said Lincoln.
"What do you kids think of your new Pokemon?" asked the Alolan Diglett trainer.
"They're so cool!" said Lincoln.
"That's good to hear." said the Alolan Diglett trainer. "I have one more Alolan Pokemon with me. When you find the last of my Digletts, I'll give it to you."
"Then I guess we'll just keep searching." said Luna.
"Thanks again, kids." said the Alolan Diglett trainer. The Loud siblings and Clyde then walk off to talk about what they're gonna do the rest of the day.
"I'm gonna train my Pokemon for a while." said Lincoln.
"I'm going to train my new Litten as well as my other Pokemon." said Clyde.
"Yeah. You do have your final dojo trial in two days with Klara in two days." said Lana. Leni growls in response to Klara's name being mentioned.
"Train hard so you can cream that diva, Clyde!" said Leni.
"Uhh. Sure, Leni." said Clyde with a nervous tone of voice.
"I want to do more pearl seaching, but I suppose I can take some time to train my new Popplio; I'm curious about what her fully evolved form looks like." said Lola.
"Maybe I'll train my Alolan Sandshrew. I'll trade my Boltund for it for now." said Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and makes the swap.
"I want to train my Pokemon also." said Lana.
"Yeah, we do have our Gym Challenges to do." said Luna.
"I want to train my Pokemon, especially Rowlet." said Lucy.
"So, we all have our plans for the next two days?" asked Lincoln. Everyone nods in response. "Okay, we'll meet back here for dinner." With that, everyone goes off to continue their training.
