Ronnie Anne's Pokemon
The next morning, Lincoln, his sisters, and Clyde were in the dojo, having breakfast at the dinner table with Master Mustard and Ms. Honey. As they ate, they heard the front doors to the dojo open.
"Hello? Is there anyone here?" they heard Ronnie Anne call out. Lincoln hops off his chair and runs to the kitchen entrance and looks to the front of the dojo to see Ronnie Anne standing in front of the doors.
"Ronnie Anne!" said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne looks to see Lincoln.
"Lincoln!" said Ronnie Anne. They run to each other, and they hug each other. Lincoln's sisters and Clyde look at them hugging, and smile.
"How are you feeling?" asked Lincoln.
"Well rested." replied Ronnie Anne. They soon broke their hug.
"I can't believe you actually wanted to come here." said Lincoln.
"Well, this Pokemon thing does sound pretty cool, so I want to take part of it." said Ronnie Anne.
"We'll teach you everything you need to know." said Lincoln.
"Can we do that after breakfast? I'm a little hungry." said Ronnie Anne.
"Sure." said Lincoln. They turned towards the kitchen to see Lincoln's sisters and Clyde smirking at them. Lincoln and Ronnie Anne look at each other and look away, blushing. After breakfast, the gang walk to the arena room.
"So what do we do first?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"We should probably start by helping you get a Pokemon." said Lincoln. He reaches into his backpack and pulls out the ten pokeballs he made with Hyde's Cram-O-Matic. "Here, you'll need these." He gives Ronnie Anne the pokeballs.
"What are these?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Those are pokeballs." said Lincoln. "You need those in order to catch Pokemon."
"Thanks, Linc." said Ronnie Anne. Ms. Honey walks over to them.
"Excuse me, but I just heard you say that you want to get Ronnie Anne a Pokemon, am I right?" said Ms. Honey.
"Yes, ma'am." said Lincoln.
"Can you wait here a minute?" requested Ms. Honey. She walks to a room and soon comes back with a pokeball in her hand.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln.
"Have you met Clyde's Bulbasaur?" asked Ms. Honey.
"Yeah. Clyde told us he got it for completing his first trial." said Lincoln. "He's an Ivysaur now."
"That's good to hear." said Ms. Honey. She holds out the pokeball she was holding. "Anyway, your friend actually had to choose between Bulbasaur and Squirtle, and he chose Bulbasaur." She looks at Ronnie Anne. "Would you like to take the Squirtle that Clyde didn't pick, Ronnie Anne?"
"Sure." said Ronnie Anne. Ms. Honey gives Ronnie Anne Squirtle's pokeball. "Thank you, ma'am."
"Thank you for taking in Squirtle." said Ms. Honey. Ronnie Anne looks at Squirtle's pokeball.
"So how do I let this Pokemon out?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"You just toss the pokeball." replied Lincoln. Ronnie Anne does so and releases Squirtle. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at Squirtle. (a/n: Remember, Lincoln has never seen Squirtle.)
"Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokemon. When it feels threatened, it draws its limbs inside its shell and sprays water from its mouth." said the Rotom Phone.
"Hi, Squirtle." said Ronnie Anne.
"Hello." Lincoln heard Squirtle say.
"Squirtle says hello." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne looks at Lincoln with a shocked look on her face.
"You actually understand what it's saying?" asked Ronnie Anne. Lincoln nods as he looks at Squirtle's information.
"Okay, this says Squirtle's a girl, she knows Tackle, Tail Whip, and Water Gun. She has the Torrent ability, which powers up her water attacks when her energy is low." said Lincoln.
"How do you know what Squirtle said?" asked Ronnie Anne. Lincoln turns his head to the side and points at his ear. When Ronnie Anne looks closer, she sees a small device in Lincoln's ear.
"It's called a PokeTranslator." said Lincoln. "Me, Clyde, and my sisters all have them. They allow us to understand what Pokemon are saying."
"Where do you get them?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"We got them from Professor Magnolia." said Lincoln. "She's a researcher who studies Pokemon. She's also the person who found me when I first arrived here."
"Do you think I can get some of those PokeTranslator things for myself?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Sure." said Lincoln. "After Clyde does his final test, we'll stop by Professor Magnolia's home and see if she has some to spare."
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. Lincoln looks at his sisters and Clyde.
"So what are your plans?" asked Lincoln.
"Master Mustard told me that I'll need to challenge one of the two towers here on the Isle of Armor with Kubfu as my final test." said Clyde. "I'm going to do some serious training to get Kubfu ready.
"Yeah, we're gonna be training our Pokemon also." said Luna. All the other sisters say they'll be training also.
"I'm gonna help Ronnie Anne catch some Pokemon for her team." said Lincoln.
"Okay, dude." said Luna.
"We'll meet back here for lunch." said Lincoln.
"Okay, Linky." said Leni. Ronnie Anne looks at her new Squirtle.
"So how do I get Squirtle back in the pokeball?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Just point that button on it towards her." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne does so and was amazed when a red beam of light shoots out, hits Squirtle, converts her to energy, and sucks her in.
"That is so cool." said Ronnie Anne. Everyone then leaves the dojo and go off to train. With Ronnie Anne and Lincoln, they were checking out the Fields of Honor. Ronnie Anne looks at all the different kinds of Pokemon that are in the area.
"I still can't believe that these Pokemon things even exist." said Ronnie Anne.
"I thought the same thing when I first saw them." said Lincoln. As they looked around, Ronnie Anne sees a gold-colored, ringlike Pokemon with a key-shaped head, keyhole-shaped mouth, and looks like it has several keys attached to it, floating over some tall grass.
"That Pokemon looks cool." said Ronnie Anne. "It reminds me of my abuela's key ring that she keeps all the keys to the apartments in the building we live in." Lincoln pulls out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Klefki, the the Key Ring Pokemon. Klefki sucks in metal ions with the horn topping its head. It seems this Pokémon loves keys so much that its head needed to look like one, too." said the Rotom Phone. Ronnie Anne looks at the Rotom Phone with interest.
"That phone is so cool." said Ronnie Anne.
"Maybe next time we're in a city, I can buy you one." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. Lincoln looks at the Klefki, then at the image on the Rotom Phone screen.
"I think that's a shiny Klefki." said Lincoln.
"It does look shiny with all those keys." said Ronnie Anne.
"No, I mean it's a different color than the one that's shown on my Rotom Phone." said Lincoln. "A shiny Pokemon is like a regular Pokemon, but with different coloring."
"Is that bad?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"No." said Lincoln. "It's just very rare to find one."
"Then I'll definitely try catching this one." said Ronnie Anne.
"Okay." said Lincoln. "To catch a Pokemon, you first need to weaken it having one of yours battle it in order to tire it out."
"Sounds simple enough." said Ronnie Anne. She pulls out her Squirtle's pokeball and releases her from it.
"You need to tell Squirtle what attack to use to get her to use it." said Lincoln. "Remember, she knows Tackle, Tail Whip, and Water Gun."
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. She and Squirtle face down the Klefki who was just noticing them. "Squirtle, use your Tackle attack!" Squirtle runs at the Klefki and rams her shoulder into it. The Klefki looked like it didn't really feel the attack.
"Klefki is part steel type." said Lincoln. "Normal type moves aren't very effective against them."
"Oops." said Ronnie Anne.
"Don't worry about it." said Lincoln. "You're still learning, you'll get the hang of it soon enough." Ronnie Anne looks at Lincoln and nods. The Klefki floats at Squirtle and slams into her.
"Oh yeah?!" responds Ronnie Anne. "Squirtle, let's try that Water Gun attack of yours." Squirtle opens her mouth and releases a strong spray of water from it, hitting the Klefki and sends it flying. The Klefki suddenly releases a blast of pink wind from its body which hits Squirtle, making her stumble backwards.
"Don't give up, Squirtle!" said Lincoln.
"She won't give up, and neither will I." said Ronnie Anne. "Squirtle, use Water Gun again!" Squirtle releases another Water Gun attack from her mouth and it hits Klefki, which starts to sink towards the ground, all limp and worn out.
"It looks weak enough to capture, Ronnie Anne!" said Lincoln. "Push the button on one of the pokeballs I gave you to enlarge it, then throw it at Klefki." Ronnie Anne does so; the pokeball hits Klefki and sucks it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indiciating a successful capture.
"Did I catch it, Lincoln?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Yes! You caught Klefki!" said Lincoln with excitement. Ronnie Anne runs over to the pokeball and picks it up.
"I did it!" said Ronnie Anne. She runs over to Lincoln and hugs him. "Thanks for helping me, Lincoln!"
"No problem." said Lincoln as he hugs her back. After a few seconds, they break the hug. Lincoln looks at Ronnie Anne's new Klefki's information on his Rotom Phone. "This says that your Klefki is a girl, she knows Tackle, Fairy Wind, Fairy Lock, and Astonish. She has the Prankster ability which makes moves that cause status conditions happen faster."
"Status conditions?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"I'll teach you about those as we continue to find you some more Pokemon." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne nods in response. Lincoln's Rotom Phone chimes, making him look at it. "It looks like your Squirtle just learned Withdraw, which will increase her defense."
"Cool." said Ronnie Anne.
"Yeah, it can come in handy." said LIncoln. He then hands Ronnie Anne four Oran Berries.
"What are these for?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"If you feed them to a Pokemon, they'll restore some of their health a little bit." said Lincoln. "Give them to your Squirtle and Klefki."
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. She gives Squirtle two Oran Berries, then lets out her new Klefki and gives the remaining ones to her. They decide to stay in the area and train Ronnie Anne's Squirtle, along with her new Klefki. During the training, Squirtle learned Rapid Spin, and Bite; and her Klefki learned Torment. Lincoln also takes the time to teach Ronnie Anne about other Pokemon-related subjects. After a while, they decide to head to another part of the Isle of Armor to look for more Pokemon. Ten minutes later, they reach the Training Lowlands, where it was raining at the moment, surprising Ronnie Anne.
"What's with the rain?" asked Ronnie Anne. "It was sunny just a few seconds ago."
"That's something about Galar." said Lincoln. "The weather can be very unpredictable." Lincoln pulls an umbrella he got from Professor Magnolia the day he left for Motostoke out of his backpack and opens it, providing him and Ronnie Anne some shelter from the rain.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. Just then, a four-legged Pokemon with a blue and black body, ears with yellow, sword-shaped marks on them, and a four-pointed star on the end of its tail. Lincoln pulls out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Shinx, the Flash Pokemon. Electricity makes this Pokémon's fur glow. Shinx sends signals to others of its kind by shaking the tip of its tail while the tail tip is shining brightly." said the Rotom Phone.
"I think I'll try catching this Pokemon." said Ronnie Anne.
"If you want to, then you should go for it." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne pulls out her Klefki's pokeball and releases her from it.
"Klefki, use Fairy Wind!" said Ronnie Anne. Klefki releases Fairy Wind from her body and it hits the Shinx, knocking it backwards. Shinx then releases a jolt of electricity from its body which hits Klefki. "Whoa. It uses electricity to attack?"
"The Rotom Phone says that Shinx is an electric type, so it would know electric type moves." said Lincoln.
"Well that won't stop us." said Ronnie Anne. "Klefki, use Tackle!" Klefki floats towards the Shinx and rams into it. The Shinx runs at Klefki and rams into her, not doing much damage. "Klefki, hit it with Fairy Wind again!" Klefki releases another Fairy Wind attack and it hits Shinx, knocking it to the ground. Seeing that Shinx looked exhausted, Ronnie Anne takes out a pokeball and throws it at the Shinx. The pokeball hits Shinx, and sucks it in. After a few seconds of wiggling, it clicks, indicating a successful capture.
"Awesome job, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. She picks up her new Shinx's pokeball while Lincoln looks up its information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says that your new Shinx is a boy, he knows Tackle, Leer, Thunder Shock, and Charge. he has the Rivalry ability which will increase his attack strenghts if he's battling another boy, and weakens it if he's battling a girl." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne then decides to train her Shinx for a little while. During the training, Shinx learned Bite. Lincoln looks at his Rotom Phone's clock and sees it was getting close to lunch.
"Let's start heading back to the Master Dojo." said Lincoln. "It's getting close to lunch."
"Yeah, I am getting kind of hungry." said Ronnie Anne. She and Ronnie Anne start walking back to the Fields of Honor. They soon reach the Soothing Wetlands where the weather was nice right now. As they walk through them, a Rockruff runs up in front of them and starts barking at them.
"Hey." said Lincoln. "Why are you barking at us?"
"This is my turf!" said the Rockruff. "If you set foot on it, then we're gonna have problems." Ronnie Anne looks at Lincoln.
"What did it say?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"This is its territory, and it doesn't want us walking around." said Lincoln. Without warning, the Rockruff jumps at the two, making them jump to the side.
"Hey! Not cool!" said Ronnie Anne as she pulls out her Squirtle's pokeball and releases her from it.
"Good move using Squirtle." said Lincoln. "Water types have an advantage over rock types like Rockruff." Rockruff digs up some sand and flings it into Squirtle's eyes.
"That was a cheap move!" said Ronnie Anne.
"That's Sand Attack." said Lincoln. "It lowers a Pokemon's accuracy."
"Squirtle, try using Tackle!" said Ronnie Anne. Squirtle charges at Rockruff, but runs right by it.
"Don't worry." said Lincoln. "There's still a chance that an attack will hit. Just keep trying." Rockruff summons rocks and launches them at Squirtle, hitting her.
"Squirtle, try using Water Gun!" said Ronnie Anne. Squirtle opens her mouth and releases a large spray of water which manages to hit Rockruff, doing super effective damage. Rockruff growls in response and runs at Squirtle, hitting her. "Squirtle, use Bite!" Squirtle bites down on Rockruff, making it stumble back.
"Hurry, Ronnie Anne!" said Lincoln. "Now's your chance to catch it." Ronnie Anne nods and throws an empty pokeball at the Rockruff, hitting it and sucking it in. The ball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"Yes! I caught Rockruff!" cheered Ronnie Anne.
"Good job, Ronnie Anne!" said Lincoln. He then hands Ronnie Anne a couple Oran Berries, prompting her to release her new Rockruff. As soon as Rockruff was let out, it looks around wildly before settling its eyes on Ronnie Anne.
"What's going on?!" asked the Rockruff. Lincoln translates to Ronnie Anne what Rockruff just asked.
"I kind of caught you." said Ronnie Anne. Rockruff lets out a sigh.
"Then I guess I'm staying with you." said the Rockruff with sorrow. Lincoln decides to translate what Rockruff was saying to Ronnie Anne for now.
"Come on, it won't be that bad." said Ronnie Anne.
"No, it's not like I'm upset about having a trainer." said Rockruff. "It's just that I'm gonna miss my brother."
"Brother?" replied Ronnie Anne.
"Yeah." said the Rockruff. "He hangs out a beach that's near here." Lincoln realizes what Rockruff was talking about.
"I remember that Rockruff." said Lincoln as he pulls out Lycanroc's pokeball. "I kind of caught him a few days ago." Rockruff was surprised by this fact.
"Are you taking good care of him? Is he okay?" asked Rockruff.
"See for yourself." said Lincoln as he releases Lycanroc from his pokeball. Lycanroc and Rockruff look at each other with surprise.
"Sister?!" said Lycanroc.
"Brother?!" replied Rockruff.
"What's going on?!" asked Lycanroc.
"What happened to you?!" asked Rockruff.
"Yeah. He did a lot of training and evolved." answered Lincoln. "And since Lycanroc called you sister, I'm assuming you're a girl."
"That is correct, Lincoln." said Lycanroc. Rockruff stares at Lycanroc.
"Well, if you're gonna get stronger behind my back, then I'm gonna get stronger also." said Rockruff with a look of determination in her eyes, then looks back at Ronnie Anne. "And that human's sister here will help me do so."
"Ronnie Anne isn't my sister." said Lincoln, making Ronnie Anne chuckle.
"Yeah." said Ronnie Anne.
"Sorry, I meant your girlfriend." said Rockruff, making Lincoln blush and sweat.
"She's not my girlfriend!" said Lincoln, making Ronnie Anne blush.
"Y-Y-Yeah!" said Ronnie Anne. Lycanroc and Rockruff chuckle at Lincoln and Ronnie Anne's actions. Lincoln and Ronnie Anne return Rockruff and Lycanroc to their pokeballs, mainly to stop the embarrassment. The two look away from each other as Lincoln pulls out his Rotom Phone to look up Ronnie Anne's new Rockruff's information.
"Okay. We already know your Rockruff is a girl, she knows Tackle, Leer, Sand Attack, Double Team, and Rock Throw. She has the Keen Eye ability which makes her immune to effects that would lower her accuracy." said Lincoln. After that, the two make their way to the Fields of Honor where they see Clyde, and Lincoln's sisters waiting for them.
"Hey, guys." said Ronnie Anne.
"Hey, dudes." said Luna.
"So, how's Ronnie Anne doing?" asked Lana. Lincoln tells them about what they did so far. Clyde and Lincoln's sisters laugh when Lincoln brought up Rockruff's little assumption about their 'relationship'.
"Sounds like Rockruff has a good sense about that sort of thing." said Luna.
"I hear wedding bells in your future." teased Lola. Ronnie Anne and Lincoln pinch the bridge of their noses in exasperation.
"Could we just drop it and have some lunch?" asked Lincoln.
"Before I make it that it'll be hard for you to chew any food at all." said Ronnie Anne as she holds out a fist, making the others look away with smiles.
"Sure, dudes." said Luna. They all enter the Master Dojo to get some lunch.

Authors' Note: Well, Ronnie Anne has a good start for her team for now. We also plan on getting a Hawlucha for her as soon as the group gets to a place where they can be found.
