Turffield Gym Battles (Part Two)
Lola walks down into the Gym Test area where the staff member explains the rules to her.
"Are you ready to begin, young lady?" asked the staff member.
"Yes, I am, sir." replied Lola.
"Very well. You may begin." said the staff member. Lola looks over at the Wooloos that were staring back at her before an aggressive look appears on her face.
"MOVE IT!" yells Lola, frightening the Wooloos, making them speed off towards the hay bale barricade and smashing through it in record time. The staff member was stunned by Lola's performance, who skips merrily towards the next part of the area and repeats the process over again until she reaches the end. Once she does, she sashays up the steps to the top, and smoke erupts from the sides, indicating her success.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone watched Lola successfully pass her Gym Test.
"She did it!" said Lynn Sr.
"My; your daughter can be quite aggressive." said Howard McBride.
"Tell us something we don't know." said Lynn Jr. All the other Louds nod in response. On the pitch, Lola was walking out a tunnel on one side of the stadium, waving and smiling at the cheering audience.
"Thank you, you're all too kind." said Lola. At the other side of the stadium, Milo was walking out of another tunnel. He and Lola met at the center of the pitch.
"I must say, Lola. I've never seen my Wooloos so shaken up before." said Milo.
"I have that way with people." said Lola.
"We can vouche for that!" said Lana who was in the audience with the rest of the group. A referee walks to the center of the pitch.
"This will be a two-on-two battle between the Gym Leader, Milo, and the Gym Challenger, Lola Loud. Both trainers will battle until both of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. Whoever has Pokemon still conscious at the end of the battle will be the winner." said the referee. Lola and Milo walk to opposite ends of the pitch while the referee walks off to the side. Lola pulls a Heal Ball out of her pocket while Milo pulls a pokeball out of his. Lola throws her Heal Ball, releasing her Ribombee; Milo throws his, releasing his Gossifleur.
"Let's go, Ribombee! Use Pollen Puff!" said Lola. Ribombee gathers up a ball of purple pollen and throws it at Milo's Gossifleur, hitting it, causing an explosion of puff, doing super effective damage, and sends it flying to a stop at Milo's feet, unconscious.
"Gossifleur is unable to battle. Ribombee is the winner." said the referee.
"This is unbelievable! Lola Loud has taken down Milo's Gossifleur in just one strike, just like the last two trainers did!" said the announcer. "Is everyone with the last name Loud a powerful trainer?"
"I would think so." said Lola as she flips her hair. Milo returns his Gossifleur to its pokeball.
"I'm sorry, Gossifleur." said Milo. He puts Gossifleur's pokeball away and looks at Lola. 'Note to self: Don't hold back against any trainer that has 'Loud' for a last name.' Milo pulls out his last pokeball and throws it, releasing his Eldegloss. He then returns it to its pokeball and uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it. He throws it, releasing his Dynamaxed Eldegloss.
"Two can play that game." said Lola as she returns Ribombee to her Heal Ball, then uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it. She throws it again, releasing her now Dynamaxed Ribombee. "Okay, Ribombee! Use Max Flutterby!" Ribombee flaps her wings, releasing dozens of glowing green butterflies at Eldegloss, causing a large, green explosing on contact, doing super effective damage to it. An upsurge for energy flows up around Ribombee.
"Max Flutterby's secondary effect is that it increases the special attack power of the Pokemon that used it." said Lincoln. Back on the pitch, Milo was looking nervous.
"Eldegloss! Use Max Overgrowth!" said Milo. Eldegloss hits Ribombee with Max Overgrowth, not doing a lot of damage to her. Grass sprouts out of the ground and releases a green aura that heals Eldegloss a little bit. Lola doesn't look worried about this.
"Ribombee! Use one more Max Flutterby!" said Lola. Ribombee hits Eldegloss with another Max Flutterby. This time, after it hits, Eldegloss' energy explodes and it returns to its normal size, unconscious.
"Eldegloss is unable to battle. Ribombee is the winner. That means the winner of the battle is the Gym Challenger Lola Loud." said the referee.
"Incredible! Another Gym Challenger has taken down both of Milo's Pokemon with just one of hers!" said the announcer. Ribombee flutters over to Lola who hugs her when she reaches her.
"Oh, Ribombee. You were amazing." said Lola as she cuddles Ribombee.
"I know." replied Ribombee. The crowd cheers loudly as Lola looks around and waves. Back in Royal Woods, the Louds who were there, along with the McBride dads, and Santiagos were cheering for Lola.
"My little girl did it!" said Lynn. Sr.
"Man; she has all those people cheering for her." said Lynn Jr. "I really wish I went to Galar to be a trainer." Back in Turffield Stadium, Milo returns his Eldegloss to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Eldegloss." said Milo. He puts Eldegloss's pokeball back in his pocket and walks over to Lola. "You are quite a strong trainer for your age, little miss."
"Thank you, good sir." said Lola. Milo reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Grass Badge, along with some pokedollars.
"In recognition of your victory, I present you with this Grass Badge." said Milo. He then hands Lola the Grass Badge, along with the pokedollars. Five minutes later, Lola meets up with the others in the lobby.
"You were awesome, Lola!" said Lincoln.
"I'll say." said Ronnie Anne.
"We're totes happy for you." said Leni.
"You were rockin' little sis." said Luna.
"Thanks, everyone." said Lola. Just then, a staff member walks over to them.
"So, who's going next?" asked the staff member.
"I'll, like, go next." said Leni.
"Okay, when you're ready, go through those doors so you can do your Gym Test." said the staff member. Leni walks towards the doors.
"You can do it, Leni." said Lincoln.
"We believe in you." said Clyde.
"Thanks, guys." said Leni. She walks through the doors and into the Gym Test area where another staff member is waiting and explains the rules to her.
"Are you ready to do the Gym Test?" asked the staff member.
"Totes." said Leni.
"You can start." said the staff member. Leni runs at the Wooloos and they begin rolling. Leni chases them into the hay bale barricade, and they burst through it. After repeating the process two more times and the Wooloos rolling into the pens at the other end of the test area, Leni climbs up the stairs until she reached the top where smoke erupts from the sides, indicating her success.
"Yay! I'm number one!" cheered Leni, holding up three fingers. Back at Royal Woods.
"Leni did it!" said Lori.
"She certainly did." said Lisa.
"Now all she has to do is defeat Milo." said Rita. Back at Turffield Stadium, Leni was walking out one stadium tunnel towards the pitch while Milo walks out another one. Soon Leni and Milo were looking at each other.
"You may have passed the Gym Test, but you still need to defeat me in a gym battle to earn the Grass Badge." said Milo.
"I'm, like, totes ready." said Leni.
"This will be a two-on-two battle between the Gym Leader, Milo, and the Gym Challenger, Leni Loud. Both trainers will battle until both of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. Whoever has Pokemon still conscious at the end of the battle will be the winner." said the referee. Lola and Milo walk to opposite ends of the pitch while the referee walks off to the side. Leni and Milo each pull a pokeball out of their pocket.
"Go, Gossifleur!" said Milo, throwing Gossifleur's pokeball and releasing it.
"Like, go, Vulpix!" said Leni, throwing Vulpix's pokeball and releasing her. "Vulpix, like, use Ember!" Vulpix shoots small bits of fire out of her mouth, and they hit Gossifleur, dealing super effective damage to it. Glowing, smoking orange spots appeared on Gossifleur's body.
"Oh, and it looks like Vulpix's Ember has burned Gossifleur!" said the announcer. Gossifleur struggles to get up.
"Gossifleur, use Rapid Spin!" said Milo. Gossifleur spins around and towards Vulpix, ramming her, but not doing much damage due to its burn weakening its attack strength. Gossifleur flinches in pain from its burn, and it collapses onto the stadium floor.
"Oh, and it looks like Gossifleur's burn was too much for it." said the announcer.
"Gossifleur is unable to battle. Vulpix wins." said the referee.
"Yay, Vulpix!" said Leni. Milo returns Gossifleur to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Gossifleur." said Milo. He puts Gossifleur's pokeball in his pocket and pulls another one out. "Go, Eldegloss!" He throws Eldegloss' pokeball and releases it. Milo then returns Eledgloss to its pokeball and he uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it. He throws the pokeball and releases Eldegloss, now Dynamaxed.
"I can, like, play that game, too!" said Leni. She returns Vulpix to her pokeball and enlarges it with her Dynamax Band. She throws Vulpix's pokeball and releases her, now Dynamaxed. "Vulpix, like, use Max Flare!" Vulpix opens her mouth and releases a massive beam of fire, and it hits Eldegloss, dealing super effective damage to it. It suddenly became bright in the area.
"And Vulpix's Max Flare has created an intense sunlight in the entire area." said the announcer. "So now all fire type moves will become more powerful. Milo better take care of Vulpix quickly."
"Eldegloss, Max Strike!" said Milo. Eldegloss begins surging with energy and a geyser of energy shoots up from below Vulpix and damages her. Vulpix slumps.
"And Max Strike has decreased Vulpix's speed." said the announcer. "What will Leni do next?"
"Have Vulpix use one more Max Flare!" said Leni. "Vulpix, like, use Max Flare!" Vulpix releases another beam of fire from her mouth, and it hits Eledgloss, dealing massive damage due to the intense sunlight powering up Vulpix's Max Flare. Eldegloss' energy explodes and reverts to its normal form and passes out.
"Eldegloss is unable to battle. Vulpix wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Leni Loud!" said the referee.
"Incredible! Leni Loud's Vulpix has defeated both of Milo's Pokemon, and earned herself the victory!" said the announcer.
"We did it, Vulpix!" cheered Leni. Vulpix returns to her regular form. Leni runs to Vulpix, picks her up, and hugs her. "You were, like, totes amazing."
"For sure." said Vulpix. In the stands, Lincoln, Luna, Lucy, Lana, Lola, Clyde, and Ronnie Anne were cheering her.
"That was awesome!" said Lincoln.
"You got that right, little bro." said Luna.
"It was a great battle." said Lucy. Back at Royal Woods, Lynn Sr, Rita, the remaining Loud siblings, Clyde's dads, Maria, and Bobby Santiago were cheering.
"Leni won!" cheered Lynn Jr.
"That was an impressive victory." said Lisa.
"That's our girl!" cheered Rita. At Turffield Stadium, Milo returns Eldegloss to its pokeball.
"You did well, Eldegloss." said Milo. He puts Eldegloss' pokeball away and walks over to Leni. "You trained your Vulpix well, Leni."
"Thanks, Milo." said Leni. Milo pulls a Grass Badge out of his pocket.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with the Grass Badge." said Milo. Leni takes the Grass Badge, along with pokedollars. Later in the lobby; Lincoln, his sisters, Clyde, and Ronnie Anne were congratulating Leni.
"You were great out there." said Ronnie Anne.
"Congratulations, Leni." said Lola.
"Great work, Leni." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, you guys." said Leni. A staff member approaches the group.
"Which one of you will be going next?" asked the staff member.
"I'll go, brah." said Luna.
"Very well. You may through those doors to do the Gym Test when you're ready." said the staff member. Luna walks towards the doors with her guitar so she can do the Gym Test to earn the right to challenge Milo. Will she succeed?
