"All right everyone, that's our main spectacle in this session. What do you think?" Eve asked was everyone.
"That's fun!"
"I can't wait to see the rest."
"Same."
Everyone immediately expressed their satisfaction with the video shown by Eve... without thinking about Ayanokouji's feelings whose life was being shown to everyone.
"Fu fu, I admit I'm enjoying it quite a bit, even though so far the conflict has only been in one class," said Sakayanagi.
"Oh, there's no need to worry about that. There is much more that I want to show you."
"I'm looking forward to it," said Sakayanagi with a satisfied smile.
"So what's next? You can't just let us hang around here forever, can you?" Asked Ryuuen who stretched his legs onto the back of the chair of the person in front of him.
Ryueen's question caught everyone's attention, they then looked ahead and wondered what Eve's next plan was. The video has finished showing, which means there's nothing more for them to do.
"Ah right," Eve said as if she remembered something, she paused for a moment before starting to speak, "We've watched the main event, now let's go to the side event."
"Side event…?"
Everyone tilted their heads in confusion at Eve's words.
"Yup, side event." Eve repeated her words.
"What is a side event?" Ichinose asked.
"Well, consider it as a reward from me for completing viewing the main event, therefore I'll be giving you a few short videos that you will watch."
"Short videos? What's that video about?" asked Horikita.
"Fu fu, the video that you are going to see this time is… about the future!" said Eve excitedly.
"…"
Everyone fell silent, they weren't sure what they heard and thought they had heard wrong. Seeing the future? It sounded impossible to them. But after thinking for a while they finally realized that they didn't hear wrongly.
Of course the furor exploded.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!?"
"W-Wait, wait, looking the future? Is that possible?" shouted a shocked Ike.
"That sounds pretty improbable to me," Miyamoto said in denial.
"Same," shouted Hondou.
Many students thought the same thing as Ike and his friends and started expressing their disbelief.
Meanwhile, the students who possessed high intelligence and had sharp minds only sent blank stares at the complainers like they were looking at idiots.
Eve could only sigh hearing the complaints from the students.
"Listen y'all, I really wonder why you guys are still so shocked about this after all the impossible things I did before," Eve said slightly irritated.
"…"
Everyone froze and fell silent once again, having gotten too comfortable watching all this video for them to forget about it.
Eve snorted in satisfaction as everyone came back to their senses, then she felt someone raise their hand.
"Umm Eve, can I ask you something?" Sotomura asked.
"Yes, Sotomura-kun. What's it?"
Sotomura pushed up his glasses before starting to speak, "You said we'd see the future. Which future exactly will we see? Is it the original timeline or the new one?"
Several people raised their eyebrows in confusion at Sotomura's question, they had absolutely no idea what he was saying. But unlike the other students, Eve was happy to hear the bespectacled student's question.
"Good question, Sotomura-kun. And to answer your question, the future you are about to see is the future of the original timeline."
Sotomura nodded in understanding, "I see."
Some of the students who were listening to the conversation between Eve and Sotomura frowned because they didn't understand what they were talking about.
"Original timeline? New? What are they talking about, do you know what that means, Kiyotaka?" asked a confused Karuizawa.
"I think I know, but let's hear a direct explanation from Eve," said Ayanokouji, Karuizawa nodded.
Like Karuizawa, many stared ahead with curious gazes. Eve who felt their stares decided to answer their confusion.
"Okay everyone, I see you are all confused therefore I will explain. Please pay close attention as this is very important to you."
Eve paused and looked at everyone, saw everyone's attention focused on her and then Eve continued to speak.
"All the lives that you have lived from the time you were born until before you entered this room are shaped like a straight line, this straight line is what is called the original timeline where your life went on normally without interference from anything or any entity."
That explanation caught everyone's attention, due to the fact that Eve as an entity far higher than them had entered their lives. As opposed to running the original timeline.
"But you…" Shinohara said hesitantly.
"Yes, I have intervened in your lives, something that shouldn't have happened in the original timeline. Well, now the question is what happens when someone in power interferes with the original timeline. I need to remind you that the original timeline is absolute and cannot be changed."
The students looked at each other in confusion because this topic was too complicated for them because it wasn't something the students cared about.
Sotomura of course knew about it, all things fiction being his area of expertise. But before he could answer, someone overtook him.
"That's easy, a new branch was formed from the original timeline," said Ayanokouji, since everyone already knew that he was holding back, he didn't have to play the fool anymore.
"That's right, Kiyotaka-kun. Because of my intervention, a new branch was formed which we can call a new timeline or alternative timeline. And you are in that timeline now."
"What happened to the original timeline?" asked Horikita.
"Nothing happened. It should run concurrently with this new timeline."
After that everyone was given time by Eve to rest for a while and process the information they got. Of course the information was very heavy for them, they were just a group of normal students who went to school to achieve their dreams.
It took a while but they finally managed to collect themselves, after which Eve spoke again.
"Okay, now that you all are level-headed, let's move on to the side events. But before that there are a few things I must say."
Everyone was paying close attention to what Eve was going to say.
"Firstly, as I said earlier the future you will see is your future from the original timeline. Second, I will display it randomly, for example, if you watch events that will occur one month later, after that you will watch events that occurred one week before or it could be several months later. And the third thing is I think I should apologize to the teachers."
The teachers gasped when their names were suddenly called.
"Us?" Mashima asked confused.
"Yeah, since we're going to see the future of course something like a special exam will be shown. It would make your efforts in vain to keep the details of the exam a secret since the students find out about it in advance."
Hearing that some of the students got excited because they could see the upcoming special exam.
Mashima crossed his arms in thought, he looked at his fellow teachers and realized that they were leaving the decision to him. He dived into his thoughts for a few moments before making up his mind.
"I don't think there is a problem, this opportunity can be used by students to process their thoughts and make more mature plans. That's my opinion, how about you?" Mashima asked another teacher.
"I agree with you," Chabashira replied.
Hoshinomiya nodded in agreement with Chabasira despite their rivalry. Sakagami didn't say anything but he gave a small nod of approval.
"It's decided then. Alright everyone, we'll start the last event tonight and after that you can rest."
Everyone stared back at the screen as it started to light up.
Negotiation and Forming Groups
As usual, they subconsciously immediately thought of the meaning of the video title.
"Negotiations? Form a group?" said Ichihashi tilting her head in confusion.
"What did Ayanokouji-kun form a group for?" said Azuma wonderingly.
"Ah, you guys might have forgotten, but videos don't always show Kiyotaka-kun's point of view, okay?"
Eve's announcement surprised everyone, because so far they had only seen the video from Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's perspective.
"It seems we won't be seeing from your perspective this time," Horikita said to Ayanokouji.
"I think so," answered Ayanokouji.
After class the next day, at the café in Keyaki Mall.
"I hate that kind of watch. The way the second hand on the clock moves is so irritating, like tick-tock, tick-tock," said Amasawa, expressing her dislike for the wristwatch that Housen had on his left arm as he sat directly across from her.
"So cute!"
The boys immediately shouted their honest thoughts when they saw Amasawa on the screen.
"Who's that?" Karuizawa asked with a frown, somehow she already felt an unpleasant vibe from the girl.
"Hmm, as far as I can remember she wasn't in our year nor was she among the senpais. I believe she is a new first year," Kushida said observing.
"New first year student? Does that mean she's a Kouhai?" Hasebe shouted in surprise.
"Kouhai!?"
Some students, especially boys, are excited when they find out that they have a cute Kouhai.
"I can't wait for the new school year to start, meet cute Kouhai," said Miyamoto drooling.
"Same, it is about time I showed my charms as a senpai," said Hondou with a confident smile.
"Ugh, shut the hell up. Do you even have any clue how much this thing is worth?" he snapped.
And just like that, the cheerful mood changed to a laborious one quickly.
For those who didn't know about the boy on screen, their reaction was only casual with a slight twitch at his rude demeanor. But for those who knew him, their reactions were very different.
"Ku ku, so that muscle-brained gorilla goes to this school too," Ryuuen said with a grin, but his glare was fixed on the screen.
"You know him, Ryuuen-san?" Ishizaki asked curiously.
"He's from my area, a troublesome gorilla and causing trouble everywhere. If I'm not mistaken his name is Housen Kazuomi," Ryuuen said trying to remember.
"Housen!? You have to be kidding me, how did he get into this school?" Miyake said in disbelief.
"You know him too, Akito?" Sudou asked in surprise.
Miyake nodded, "Yeah, I'm also from the same area as Ryuuen. He and Housen are pretty famous because of the trouble they got themselves into, Housen could be worse."
Ayanokouji and the rest of his group already knew about Housen from Miyake's memories they saw even though they had never seen him in person, but it seems Sudou had forgotten about it due to his weak memory.
Everyone was horrified after hearing Miyake's words.
"Gosh, we have another Ryuuen!"
"How are we going to carry out our second year!?"
"That would be terrible!"
BAM!
The room fell silent after hearing the loud crash, they turned to the source of the sound and saw that Ryuuen had kicked the chair in front of him really hard without thinking about the person sitting on the chair.
After that they met Ryuuen's terrifying gaze.
"Oi bastards, if you all have a problem with me stand up and say it right in front of me," Ryuuen said threateningly.
Those who complained immediately shivered with fear and turned their attention away from Ryuuen, no one dared go against the tyrant leader. Ryuuen who saw that pathetic sight just clicked his tongue.
"Well, at least he's not in the same year as us. So we won't have much to do with him," Hasebe said casually.
Ayanokouji and Horikita decided to keep quiet, they both had been told by Nagumo that all classes would compete a lot in the special exams going forward.
"Worth? Is that like a premium one or something? I don't have time to learn about stuff I hate," said Amasawa.
"Pft, this is why chicks're so stupid," said Housen with a smile, briefly stroking his watch.
"I don't like him," Shinohara said sharply after hearing what Housen said.
"Well, after hearing about him I think that makes sense," said Matsushita.
"Hey, look here you… Well, whatever, forget it. So, what did you want?" asked Amasawa.
"I called you here to talk 'bout the upcoming island exam thing. Team up with me, Amasawa," said Housen.
Some students immediately groaned hearing the island exam, they still remember the island exam they once did and they don't like it.
"Another island exam!?" said Miyamoto complaining.
"Ugh… this is going to be really annoying," said Hondou groaning.
"What are you complaining about? This should be fun, well if we put the exam aside I mean," said Ike.
"That's because exams like this are your area of expertise, I simply don't have the energy for such an exhausting exam," Hondou snapped.
"There's nothing we can do about it, we all already know that this school will never change their decision. We better use this future knowledge to get better results," said Sotomura wisely.
After hearing Sotomura's words, all the complaints gradually died down. Hondou and the others sighed to shake off their frustration.
"Yeah, I think you're right, professor," Hondou said before he and the others turned their attention back to the screen.
Meanwhile at Ayanokouji's line, the sound of pencil and paper scraping could be heard. They turned to the source of the voice and saw Horikita was writing something in her notebook.
"What did you write, Suzune-san?" Kushida asked.
Horikita stopped writing before replying, "Amasawa, Housen, and the island exam. I took notes on what I felt was important in the videos we watched. I think it will be of use to us in the future."
"Oh I see. That's a very good idea."
"Oh, you want my help again, huh? And on the island too, hm. You thinking about something naughty?" said Amasawa.
"Huh!?"
"What?" replied Housen.
Even though Housen furrowed his brow and glared at Amasawa, she responded by flashing him a devilish grin, without an ounce of fear. Then, after slowly lowering her crossed legs, Amasawa quietly spread them wide.
"Wh-!"
"You wanna see my panties? You can peek from under the table if you want. Okay?" said Amasawa.
"W-What is that girl doing!?" shouted Karuizawa with a red face.
Several other girls also had the same expression as Karuizawa, even though it wasn't them who did it but they were still embarrassed to see what Amasawa did.
On the other hand, the boys leaned forward and their eyes focused on the screen, completely indifferent to the girls outbursts. Their goal right now was to see the divine sight that every boy yearned for.
Ayanokouji also subconsciously leaned in a bit but he was immediately pinched by Kushida, making him flinch.
"Don't try it, Kiyotaka-kun," Kushida said with a smile, but the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"O-Okay."
If he crawled under the table, he could see right between her spread legs. In the face of this temptation though, Housen leaned forward, placing his right elbow on the table.
"You seriously think I won't raise my hand against a girl?" said Housen.
"H-He's not going to do it, right?" Sakura asked nervously.
"Humph, he definitely would. He's the type of person who doesn't look at gender," Miyake said bluntly, making Sakura even more nervous.
"Don't worry, Airi. As long as we stay away from him, there won't be any problems. After all we have Kiyopon and the others," said Hasebe confidently.
Sakura smiled after hearing Hasebe's words and her nervousness disappeared, "You're right, Haruka-chan."
"Oh no, I do think you would, absolutely. Don't worry. I figure you're the type who would have no problem beating on a girl without a second thought," said Amasawa.
"In that case, stop spoutin' stupid crap. It's a waste of time," said Housen.
"Judging from their conversation, it doesn't seem like they're friends," said Amikura.
"I think so, they look like strangers who only know each other by name," said Ichinose.
"I'm more curious as to what class they are," Kanzaki said thoughtfully, his question also caught his friends in thought.
"I bet Housen is class D, but I don't know about Amasawa," said Shibata.
"I want to agree with you, but we have Ryuuen who is in class C," Hamaguchi said, bringing Shibata to his senses.
"Oh shit, you're right. I guess we should just keep watching then," Shibata said scratching his head.
"Oh, a waste of time, hm? Well, all right then, let's hear it. Your plan. Why are you inviting me?" asked Amasawa.
"'Cause you got the kinda guts not to hesitate when it comes to gettin' Ayanokouji expelled," said Housen.
"…Huh?"
The room fell silent, from all the conversations the two underclassmen had, they did not expect that those words would come out.
"G-Getting Kiyotaka-kun expelled?" stuttered Ichinose said.
"Why did they do that?" asked a surprised Amikura.
The students slowly looked at Ayanokouji for an answer only to get none as the boy still had the same expression. But those who knew him knew that Ayanokouji was also shocked by the news.
"Well, sure? I mean, there are lots of people who know about the bounty and aren't doing anything about it, or they're willing to take a shot but only half-heartedly. I figure that if there's twenty million at stake, you would do everything in your power to crush it. Isn't that normal?" said Amasawa, without showing any signs of shame or guilt whatsoever. "So, what am I gonna get in return for helping you? I'm not cheap, you know."
"Bounty…
"Twenty million!"
Everyone shouted those words in shock, not only for getting Ayanokouji out but he was rewarded with twenty million points for the one who could take him out.
"Damn! Who gave that bounty!?" shouted Sudou angrily.
"K-Kiyotaka-kun, do you know about this matter?" asked the worried Hirata.
"I don't know," Ayanokouji said shaking his head, then he turned to the speakers in the room, "Eve, when did this video take place?"
The question caught everyone's attention, as they needed to know the start time of the special exam so they could prepare themselves.
"Hmm, this video takes place in the middle of June and if you guys are wondering when the island exam starts, then it will be during summer break," Eve replied.
"I see," said Ayanokouji, then he was deep in thought.
In contrast to Ayanokouji's reaction, the students who heard the island's special exam schedule started complaining about the schedule.
"Again our summer vacation was interrupted," Ishizaki complained.
"At this point, I think it's impossible for us to have a peaceful and restful holiday," Komiya said with an annoyed sigh.
Ayanokouji ignored all the complaints as he was thinking.
"Mid June, huh. Could this be Tsukishiro's doing? No, I don't think he would use such a flashy means. I can ignore that this is the work of the white room students since it would be impossible for them to earn twenty million points in one month unless they squeeze out all the students' points, or the students get some help from Tsukishiro. So my only suspicion now is that this is Nagumo's doing, are he and Tsukishiro working together? I can't say for sure right now, but I won't discount the possibility."
After thinking all of that, Ayanokouji snapped out of his thoughts. Then he sensed that Horikita had been observing him for quite a while.
"Do you know something?" asked Horikita.
"I have some suspicions but for now there is no definite conclusion," answered Ayanokouji.
"I see," Horikita said nodding, she then turned back to the screen and didn't ask again.
"A-Are you going to be okay, Kiyotaka-kun?" Sakura asked worriedly.
"Airi's right, Kiyopon. Will you be ok? If news of this spreads among the underclassmen, I'm sure they'll all target you," said Hasebe.
Thinking that many students trying to get Ayanokouji out was making his friends anxious, Ayanokouji who sensed their anxiety decided to calm them down.
"No need to worry, I will try my best to avoid confrontation with them as much as possible. Plus we have this future knowledge, knowing that they are targeting me is enough for me to be wary."
"Yeah, there's no need to worry about Kiyotaka. Instead I'm more worried about the people targeting him," said Sudou grinning.
"Ken was right, it was a mistake against Kiyotaka," Miyake chuckled.
"Hey, I'm not that scary," said Ayanokouji, his friends only laughed in response.
Just then, after Amasawa had asked Housen what she could get for this, a stern voice came from behind her.
"We will all be equal. I believe I said as much before."
That voice belonged to none other than Nanase, who had arrived at this gathering slightly late.
"Another cute girl appears," said Hashimoto, whistling.
"Yeah, but her intentions are not at all good," Kitou said.
"Come on, in this school expelling students is a common thing."
"Huh. You are right."
Hashimoto returned to staring at the screen with hungry eyes, with this new addition the mystery about Ayanokouji increased his interest more and more.
"Equal? Wow, you've got such a cute face, but your words sure aren't that sweet. You just came right out and said it. So, does Housen-kun appreciate the fact that you're not timid at all?" said Amasawa.
The three of them were now seated around the table.
"All right. So, Housen-kun was thinking of having us three together in a group. Who's the fourth person though?" said Amasawa.
"Don't need a fourth. The winner o' this island exam thing ain't gonna be anyone from the second-years or third-years. It's gonna be us three," said Housen.
Sakayangi and Ryuuen immediately chuckled at that statement.
"Fu fu, so confident, isn't it?" said Sakayanagi amused.
"Ku ku, we'll see, gorilla," Ryuuen said grinning.
On the other hand, Horikita paid more attention to what Amasawa was saying.
"So the island exam this time isn't a competition between classes, but between groups. And judging from Amasawa-san's words it seems like a group consists of four people," Horikita muttered while taking notes.
"But it looks like we can determine the number of group members, since they decided to form groups of only three people," said Kushida.
"Yes, it seems so. But that's only a temporary observation, there's still a lot we don't know about this exam."
"Um, you're right."
"Wow, aren't you the confident one? But it does seem like there are lots of senior students who're tougher than the first-years, don't you think?" said Amasawa.
Everyone immediately realized something after they heard Amasawa's words.
"Wait, does that mean we're going up against the third and first years!?" Ike shouted in surprise.
Everyone was as surprised as Ike, because so far they had special exams only between their years. The closest they came in contact with any other year was during the exams at camp.
"This exam turned out to be a lot tougher than we imagined," Ichinose said with a slight frown.
"Yeah, to think the entire student would be fighting against each other. How big is the island that will be our exam site? I don't think it's possible to use the same island as last year," said Kanzaki.
"If you do the math, there will be more than four hundred students who will take this special exam," said Hamaguchi.
"That's a very large number," Shibata said in surprise.
"Yes, and for all that, please make the best use of this future knowledge for the benefit of our class," Ichinose said to her friends who nodded in agreement.
"Doesn't matter. I'm gonna crush 'em all," said Housen.
"Well, supposing even if you're number one in terms of ability, Housen-kun… Didn't we first-years talk about cooperating? You know, all four classes together? If we're talking about the heavy hitters in Class D, then I'm pretty sure that you two would be the top picks for that, right?" Amasawa.
"I'm the one in charge of Class D. That's for me to decide. You get what I mean?" said Housen.
"So Housen and the new girl are in class D, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Housen," said Miyake.
"Then that Amasawa girl is outside of class D, what and why could she be related to someone like Housen," pondered Yukimura.
"It might have something to do with Kiyotaka-kun's bounty, they could have worked together earlier to get him out," Horikita said while taking notes.
"I see."
"Yeah, you mean that you're going to unashamedly send in a couple of small fries from Class D to represent us as our main forces, for the group. You're gonna be making enemies in all directions," teased Amasawa.
"The main force…?"
"What does it mean?"
The students tilted their heads in confusion, they still knew little about this special exam.
"That all depends on what you consider the criteria for our 'main forces' to be. If we send in students who have high academic or physical ability at the very least, then there won't be that much risk. Besides, if we place Housen-kun in that supposed strongest group, there will be problems," said Nanase.
"Yeah, sure seems like he doesn't exactly play well with others, that's for sure. In that sense, it's safer that we leave him out of that group. Anyway, back to the topic at hand, how much are you gonna give me?" said Amasawa.
"There aren't any points for us to give you. As I had just said earlier, we will be equals in this partnership. Of course, we will give you an equal share of the Private Points that Class D receives," replied Nanase, implicating adding, "Is that not enough to satisfy you?"
"But it's not like our level of contribution is necessarily equal though, is it? After all, I'm confident that I can contribute more than anyone else, on the uninhabited island or wherever. Seems like this exam is gonna take an awful lot of stamina. Nanase-chan, you're a little cutie. Can you keep up with me?" said Amasawa.
"Wow, this girl is really confident," said Onodera. She was also confident in her stamina but she didn't dare boast like that.
"Does this girl really believe she can do that?" Ask Mori.
"Huh, I think she's just bragging," said Shinohara sarcastically.
"No, it's not a boast. Those words are a form of her belief that she really can contribute more than anyone else," thought Ayanokouji as he narrowed his eyes, he could feel a strange vibration in this girl called Amasawa.
"Shall we test that?" replied Nanase, responding to Amasawa's provocations with one of her own.
Amasawa turned her gaze onto Housen for a moment, but then without warning, Amasawa extended her arm, reaching for Nanase's face. She was intending to catch Nanase off guard and surprise her with a slap to the face to rattle her. However, Nanase didn't show any hesitation either and quickly grabbed hold of Amasawa's arm as she extended it towards her.
Everyone was stunned by what they saw, a moment before the calm and peaceful state turned tense in an instant. They were also surprised to see Amasawa unhesitatingly attack Nanase at high speed and even more shocked that Nanase saw the attack and caught her.
Ike and the others paled upon seeing the tension between Amasawa and Nanase, they thought the two girls were cute girls they could target, but after seeing the scene on the screen; they have the same thought.
"(((SCARY!)))"
"You're pretty bold, aren't you? Thinking you can test me right here," snapped Nanase, in a harsh tone.
"Oh wow. You can hold your own pretty good, huh? I just love strong girls," said Amasawa.
"You're not exactly normal either," said Nanase.
"Hm, maybe? Wanna test things a little more?" said Amasawa.
"They're lively girls aren't they, Ibuki-san?" Shiina said to Ibuki.
"Hmph, more to the point troublesome girls," Ibuki snorted, then she narrowed her eyes at Amasawa and Nanase who were on the screen, "That movement and speed… they're well trained."
While one of them was smiling, the other was stone-faced. It was as if they were spending that time assessing each other's strength.
"You, me, and Nanase are gonna make a group of three. Got it?" said Housen.
"Well, I get that Nanase-chan can hold her own more or less, but I still can't think that we're really on equal terms, y'know."
"Why? Is that because the two of us are from Class D?" asked Nanase.
"I don't care about that. I mean, sure, it seems like the Private Points will be evenly split between everyone, sure. It's just… Well, since you're asking me to help you, I think need something extra for it," said Amasawa, putting her left hand into a fist, and then making the gesture of asking for a tip by pinching her thumb and index finger together and then rubbing them.
"I mean, it's only natural you'd wanna sell yourself for a high price if someone comes along and wants to pay you for your services, right?" added Amasawa.
"T-This girl…!" said Karuizawa stuttering, she was lost for words seeing Amasawa's behavior.
"Is there something wrong?" asked Ayanokouji.
"A girl can't say those words so easily, it makes her look like a cheap girl," said Kushida.
"I see," said Ayanokouji nodding in understanding.
"You sure got a hell of an ego. Man, you chicks, both you and Nanase, have more guts than Yagami and Takahashi," said Housen.
"Oh, don't you know? Girls these days are stronger than boys," said Amasawa.
"Ho, what an interesting statement. We also have someone who thinks like that," Ryuuen said grinning at Ibuki.
"What do you see!? Do you want me to prove those words," Ibuki said sharply.
"Ku ku, do it after you're really sure you can do it," Ryuuen said chuckling.
"You-!" Ibuki was about to lunge at Ryuuen but was stopped by Shiina.
"Stop Ibuki-san, you know that Ryuuen-kun is just trying to mess with you, right? And Ryuuen-kun, please don't provoke Ibuki-san like that."
"I did what I wanted to do," Ryuuen replied with a snort.
Ibuki clicked her tongue but she restrained herself this time, Shiina breathed a sigh of relief and was glad things were back to normal.
"All right then, fine. I'll hear you out. What do you want, aside from the group rewards?" asked Housen.
"Getting first place, of course. But that's not the only important thing here," said Amasawa.
Then, Amasawa stopped making the tip gesture with her left hand, and brought her hand up to her neck with her thumb raised and pressed against her neck. Then she slowly slid her thumb from the right side of her neck to her left, in an execution gesture.
Some of the students didn't like the moves made by Amasawa especially the girls, for them it wasn't something a normal girl would do.
"I get everything. All the points from getting Ayanokouji-senpai expelled. That's my condition for helping you," said Amasawa.
"E-Everything!?"
The students were shocked at Amasawa's unreasonable request.
"Everything? That meant she wanted to earn twenty million points? This girl sure is greedy," Shibata said in surprise.
"Is she really confident in her abilities that she wants to get paid that high," said Hamaguchi who was just as surprised as Shibata.
"That girl is brave enough to say all that in front of someone like Housen. Now we have to see how Housen responds, if he accepts his offer it means that girl is really important for him to win the battle," said Kanzaki while looking intently at the screen.
"Pfft. Now you're really makin' some unreasonable demands. Those are terms I can't just sit back and agree to so easily," said Housen.
"Can't just agree, huh. That means there is a possibility that he will accept the unreasonable offer," thought Ayanokouji.
"Oh, so are you gonna turn me down then? But what are you going to do without me? If you don't have any allies you can trust aside from Nanase- chan, you're going to have a pretty tough time in this special exam, aren't you?" said Amasawa.
"Heh, he seems to have made enemies everywhere," said Miyake grinning.
"It seems he has led the class in the same way that Ryuuen did," said Yukimura.
"That means he has become the enemy of all classes," Hirata added.
"I don't know what this Nanase girl is doing, but she has earned Housen's trust. I don't think she's an ordinary girl because it's hard to gain the trust of that guy," Miyake said.
Yukimura nodded, "That's something we should remember, since we in the future have to compete with them it's important for us to remember things like this."
"Yeah, I agree with you."
Just like Amasawa had suggested earlier, Housen had already been making enemies on all sides. Moreover, since the four classes were planning to work together, if Housen went ahead and just formed his own group aside from them, there was no way other students would be willing to give him a hand. At least no one besides an odd duck like Amasawa, that is.
"And besides, if I team up with Housen-kun, I'll be even more isolated in Class A than I already am. Isn't it only natural that I'd ask for appropriate compensation in exchange before I could say yes to you?" said Amasawa.
"Class A!?" shouted Sudou in surprise, he and the other students were surprised to hear Amasawa's class.
"Her class is much higher than I expected," Horikita said as she recorded this new information in her notes.
"That raises the question of how she got in touch with Housen and Nanase who are in class D," Yukimura said with a frown.
"That's because she's the one who dared to try to expel me without hesitation," Ayanokouji answered, much to the surprise of his friends.
"He's right. Housen-kun said it himself, Amasawa-san's audacity to take out Kiyotaka-kun must have caught his eye," said Horikita as she folded her arms.
"Huh, that makes sense," said Karuizawa who was irritated with the people targeting Ayanokouji.
Housen and Amasawa exchanged long, hard looks.
"It's true that if you hand over the entire bounty to me for getting him expelled, that means you won't be getting a single point yourself. But you'll get all the credit for being the one who got Ayanokouji-senpai expelled, Housen-kun. Isn't that good enough?" said Amasawa.
"There's no need to accept her conditions. If you think about our future, if Class A were to get an extra twenty million points, then—"
"Shut up, Nanase," said Housen, cutting Nanase off before she could finish giving her advice, as he continued to stare intently into Amasawa's eyes.
"I'll give you the bounty," said Housen.
"HUH!?"
"Impossible!"
"He actually agreed!?"
Everyone gaped at Housen agreeing to Amasawa's request, they didn't expect that Housen wasted twenty million personal points just to take Ayanokouji out.
"Heh, that gorilla must be lying," Ryuuen said amidst the shocked students.
"Yeah, there's no way Housen would agree so easily," Miyake agreed, even though he didn't like Ryuuen but what Ryuuen said made sense.
"But why did he agree to the deal?" Ishizaki asked confused.
"Ku ku, that's because there wasn't a written agreement at all, that Amasawa girl also didn't bring a recorder or anything like that. So that gorilla can just cancel this deal after this exam is over as if nothing happened," Ryuuen said smirking.
"Hmph, really the type of person that looks just like you," Ibuki said with a snort.
Ryuuen didn't say anything but he stared intently at the screen, as if he was observing something.
"Amasawa isn't stupid either, she already knew that the gorilla wouldn't keep his word but why did she still agree to join?" Ryuuen mused in his mind, but he quickly dismissed those thoughts, "Well, who cares about that. It's none of my business."
"Thanks. You know, I think the fact you're not a stingy tightwad is actually pretty lovely," said Amasawa, getting up from her seat in a smooth motion.
"Looking forward to the exam!" she added.
Now that negotiations had been concluded, Amasawa had decided there wasn't any reason to stick around much longer and she left without batting an eye.
"Are you really okay with this?" asked Nanase.
"It's fine," replied Housen.
"I understand. It is your decision to make. But are you sure it's okay to trust Amasawa-san? I think she's the type of person who would betray her partners without losing any sleep over it," said Nanase.
"Trust? Don't just assume I'm trusting her. I don't trust her or you," said Housen.
"E-Eh, he doesn't trust those two?" said Shiranami surprised.
Housen didn't naturally trust Amasawa because she was in a different class, but they were also surprised that Housen didn't trust his own classmates either.
"Hmph, this guy won't trust anyone but himself," Miyake snorted.
"Well, you are very right about that, Miyacchi," said Hasebe nodding.
"Then why did you decided to make a group with her?" asked Nanase.
"'Cause she's different than the rest of the trash out there. There are parts of her I can't figure out. Just like with you," said Housen.
"I see. I suppose you might be right about that. But even so, twenty million points is an absurd condition," said Nanase.
"It was just a verbal agreement. I don't give a damn about it. As long as the fact remains clear that I'm the one who got Ayanokouji expelled, then I'll be gettin' those points, of course. Doesn't matter to me if she comes cryin' about it later," said Housen.
Several people glared at Housen and growled in anger at the boy's rotten temper.
"This guy is really the worst," Shinohara said disdainfully.
"Agreed," said Satou coldly.
Matsushita said nothing while her friends talked, part of her agreeing that a selfish streak like Housen was necessary to win a battle. But of course she didn't like that trait.
Housen was saying that he never had any intention of honoring his promise from the beginning.
"You really are a terrible person," said Nanase.
Many students especially girls agree with Nanase, even though they just got to know Housen they can already tell that his personality is really bad.
"Don't matter if it's Ayanokouji, Ryuuen, or anybody else. Anybody comes barin' their fangs at me, I'll crush 'em. I'm gettin' fed up, bein' all caught up in the crazy stupid rules at this school," said Housen, looking like he was having so much fun that he could hardly contain his laughter.
Video ends.
The students relaxed their bodies in their seats while thinking about what they had just seen, about the future they saw.
Ayanokouji also thought the same thing, seeing the past wasn't anything special to him because his perfect memory could remember things he had done in the past well.
But seeing the future is something different.
Seeing things that haven't happened before, seeing new people who have never been met, and seeing events that will happen in the future. Those were all new experiences that Ayanokouji had never experienced in his life.
And now for the first time, he was excited to see these videos.
And that's our first future reaction chapter, I'll do about three more chapters before we get into V2Y1.
