While I write, I typically take breaks to relax, browse the web, and check my Reddit and it always manages to bring a smile to my face, especially the memes you find on Memes of the Dank and Fnki, that last one more so as more often than not, fans have created entire crack universes which they then meme so it's a real trip down the rabbit hole. As for entertainment, I didn't watch the Miraculous movie but one of the reviewers I trust didn't give it a wholly good review, it's not bad but its issues and insistence to tie into the show made it above average at best.

Chapter 4: New Classmate, Old Faces

"A spokesperson for the MEXT has announced that after an investigation into the teaching and administration practices of Aldera Junior High, the principal and 20 staff members have been sacked, though they didn't say if any criminal charges will be handed down as that is an issue for the local prosecutor to ultimately decide." The news presenter rattled off as footage of the school in question was shown, one which had masses of concerned parents and other members of the community outside holding up signs reading 'stop bullying' or 'resign' to name a few. The next shot was of the principal being hit by a tomato as he left school grounds the day he was fired.

"In a press conference earlier today, the MEXT announced that they'll be keeping the school open but have brought in teachers from volunteer staff from other nearby schools to make up for the loss of employees, they also insisted that all schools are held to a strict code of conduct and that MEXT is against any kind of bullying or harassment of students and will alter its monitoring methods to ensure that bad apples are caught and dealt with quickly." She looked at her notes on the issue before her eyes returned to the camera broadcasting her and this story to any that were listening.

This was the same news story that was being watched by the number one hero and his detective friend. In the relative privacy of his office at the police station, they both watched with straight faces as she continued to report on poor things that had been in the little over a week since Midoriya gave her explosive interview. "In other news, the Hero Public Safety Commission has finished its report regarding the accusations against the pro-hero Lady Mystery has claims to have found substantial evidence of accepting bribery from criminals, undeclared income and intentionally misfiled or misleading reports and as a consequence, has revoked her license. She was arrested early today and if found guilty on all charges can face up to 12 years in prison." The footage of the now former hero being taken from her home and into the back of a police cruiser, looking like she had just lost everything but if the allegations are true, then both men feel nothing for her.

"The commission spokesperson also stated that they're increased their net of investigations to include at least 7 other pro heroes who operate in the area that was formally occupied by the Shie Hassaikai, a means that they claim is to ensure that any actors who have dishonoured their duties as heroes are identified and prosecuted." Thankfully, they didn't broadcast the names and faces of the pros being investigated, but they didn't need to.

The people had done that for them as within hours of the interview, the internet exploded about it, with people writing and posting whatever they wished about them. Much of it is just the standard hero-hate from criminals, but you'll need to be willfully ignorant to think they were the only ones. All Might had already heard of how in a few cases, they were hampered in their duties because people either didn't wish to talk to them or were outright hostile, in one case, this allowed the villain to get away.

"Police were called in to disperse a riot outside the main offices of the Hero Commission, a riot made up of people who accused the commission of failing to prosecute heroes who they claim have also committed illegal acts, to which both the Hero Commission and the Ministry of Justice have both categorically denied." With the screen showing footage from the conference that the commission held, neither could say they were surprised with the commission's response as they defended the integrity of heroes and system above all else and had their disagreements with All Might over how over the years, but he wished to believe that they wouldn't have stooped so low as to cover up crimes.

"With the Police, an investigation has so far uncovered 5 suspects, all of whom have since been suspended since the conclusion of the investigation. A member of the investigation team has declined to reveal any details, including names as a protection measure." When the footage changed to a press release that the police put out, Tsukauchi signed as he muted the tv and leaned into his chair, wishing that he was one of those cops that hid a little pick-me-up in his desk as he sure as hell needed one.

"She makes it sound like we're protecting bad actors." He noted though Toshinori caught that there was something more he wished to say.

"I feel like there is something more to that statement, Tsukauchi." The plain-faced man snorted. Leave it to his old friend to pick up on that, now if only he was this insightful on women.

"I wish there wasn't, but there have been more than a few who have gotten needlessly defensive while they conduct the investigation." He explained as he was never the most popular cop, namely due to the fact his quirk made it easier for him to close cases and confirm trustworthy witness testimony, but now? Most treated him like the executioner's blade and avoided him wherever they could. Which made his role in investigating them…challenging.

"Most don't have anything to worry about but seem to not appreciate having their actions under the microscope. With the 5 we suspect, they being held either on suspicion of taking bribes to ignore criminals, destroy or steal evidence before it's been recorded or acting as snitches." That wasn't pretty as he knew one of them and when he had approached him with 2 others, they tried to plead with him and when that didn't work, it was all profanity to the lock-up, with accusations of being a 'dick friend' and a 'rat' being thrown more times he counted, having started to block him out 5 minutes in.

"They lawyered up?" Toshinori guessed, getting a nod from the man.

"Oh, they certainly did, one of them got so jumpy he demanded one before we could even question him. And with some having friends in the force, they had to bring in officers from other precincts, which is only fostering an idiotic gang-like divide." Tsukauchi reached for his nose, feeling a migraine forming at how stressful and irritating things had been for them. He had always thought that the notion that cops and criminals were similar was overblown but now? He wanted to smack his past self as it took reminding people that they could lose their jobs, and pensions and face criminal liability to get them to give up anything.

"Which makes the police as a whole seem to be at fault." Toshinori guessed as the people wouldn't see it as a few bad apples, they'll just see this entire scandal, and wonder why it's taking so long for bad apples to be identified.

"3 cruisers got egged by middle schoolers, they yelled about them being bought and booked it…I'm just glad they don't know where I live, the landlady would kill me if kids egged my apartment." Tsukauchi told him, as it had been…surprising to see a cruiser return from a routine patrol covered in eggs and flour. He had heard that some cops faced crap even off work as neighbours knew one another, enough to know what they did for a living so while for the most part, they could go home and relax, some weren't so lucky.

Toshinori signed as he drank his now lukewarm tea. As he had seen similar happenings from his side of the fence. "Pros may not get it as bad, but I would be lying if I said I haven't seen people acting a little more guarded towards some of them. Nothing more than hackling, but that can change any day now as public approval has declined for the first time in 10 years."

"The Nagant affair," Tsukauchi stated, not needing to ask as they both recall that time. Lady Nagant has been a rising star, with a near-perfect track record and an aim that she would joke got as good as it did due to her 'getting good' and 'hacks', much to the amusement and frustration of other marksmen like Snipe who could only look on I awe are her marksmanship. Like Hawks, she went running out of the gates as she got her license at 18, and in just 2 years, was already in the top 200. By the time she was 22, she had broken into the top 50 and was all track to make it into the top 20, being the first gunslinger to make it into such a high position in over 50 years.

She was the complete package, a media darling, great with kids, skilled at her job and never buckled even when stressed. She even assisted All Might in hunting down a few of All for One's minions and earned the number one's respect, a true hero if he had ever seen one.

But then she…changed, he didn't know when, or if he had always been wrong about her but it didn't matter, because the hero Lady Nagant was accused and convicted for the murder of 6 fellow pros. Like so many others, he had been shocked by it, how easily she admitted to the crimes and barely seemed to care as she handed a life sentence in Tartarus, a prison so secure and harsh that it was only reserved for the worst of the worst, for the most dangerous of villains, a place where if you find yourself locked up, you rarely leave.

In the aftermath of that entire thing, it had taken years for public sentiment against heroes to improve as so many just couldn't understand how someone who was a shoo-in for the top 20, maybe even the top 10 could do such a thing. And now, it was happening all over again and as he expected from the commission, they were in damage control mode.

"As far as I can tell, the top 20 have been able to get through this without issue so far, but…" Tsukauchi didn't need to hear more, having seen how bad it was in the streets with pros. It didn't help that a few were caught voicing their frustration with Midoriya choosing to air her story on live television rather than go to the commission or police so it could be handled quietly and of course, the press took those isolated statements and made them out to pros being against transparency and culpability.

"I get it. we need to deal with this soon. Show the people that we can and will crack down on such behaviour. The last thing we want is for villains to think they have any more legroom than they already have, not when the Venom supply is finite and running out fast." That was another positive he supposed, now that they knew how that damn drug was made and that its production was ceased, they were having fewer and fewer issues in dealing with it as dealers guarded what they had with their lives and only sold the inventory still out there at insanely inflated prices, which while some were still willing to pay greatly reduced the pool of buyers.

However, Toshinori didn't share his opinion of them, looking into tea with a pensive look. "And yet, I feel like this was my doing, those heroes and police, they're all rotten but what about everything else? I can't help but wonder when was the last time I checked on such matters because I didn't notice, young Midoriya and who knows how many others have been hurt." He had accepted a long time ago that while he built himself up to be more than human, to be a symbol-he was still human, that he couldn't be everywhere, save everyone.

But this was different, he had focused for so long on the visible villains that he forgot to ensure that evil didn't take root among their ranks, a foolish mistake as All for One had paid off law enforcement in the past.

"You can't blame yourself for that. you're just one man and you already have more than enough on your plate. Expecting you to have seen and dealt with something like this is just insane." Tsukauchi tried to cheer him up but saw that this conversation wouldn't give him much room to do that, so he changed the subject.

"The students are heading out for their provisional licenses today?" Toshinori looked up at him, confused for a moment.

"Hmm? Yes, yes," He nodded his head, smiling as he thought to his students, more as he recalled how much he struggles to teach them anything, often asking Midnight and Nezu for advice as he had tried Present Mic and Eraser but one had a very…loud style of teaching the other later just said no. "They trained hard over the summer for this, I'm confident that it'll see them through."

"Any favourites?" He hummed in thought and he rolled the detective's question in his mind for a moment.

"Hard to say as they each bring something unique to the table." He eventually replied, with Tsukauchi snorting in amusement at his non-answer.

"Cop-out."

"Sue me."

As the two friends talked about Toshinori's lack of a favourite student, those same students met outside the main gates to U.A. all in uniform and waiting to board the buses that will take them to the next part of their hero's journey. Looking over the two classes, both hero teachers managed to count that all 39 were present and accounted for, and it was still a good 15 minutes before they had to leave. "Good, you're all here. We started the reason that you were all training, but before we get there, we need to discuss this in more detail." Vlad started, the students ceasing any conversations to listen in.

"As I'm sure you noticed, during your internships, you were prohibited from doing any hero work." The blood hero started, with the students agreeing with him.

"Yeah, it made things kinda boring," Kaibara mentioned as while it wasn't a bad time for him per se, it was a little lacking in terms of anything to do outside shadowing side-kicks and training.

"You weren't made into a glorified hair-care model," Kendo told them as both here and Yaoyorozu wished they picked differently as they got 2 patrols, just the 2 and both were less about solving crime and more about meeting with fans.

Sure, Uwabami explained that being visible and approaching helped to gather information and stop low-level criminals who would think twice after seeing them but it was all so boring! Her parents couldn't stop bringing up how she was 'the hair girl' for two weeks. Her grandfather was still salty about it, thinking she had forsaken the family dojo and martial arts for make-up and the runway.

"The reason for that," Vlad gave them all a look which silenced them for interrupting him. "Was because as students, you didn't have the authority and protections to use them. You had less than a semester's training, so in the eyes of the law, you were still civilians."

Rising her hand, Shiozaki asked the obvious question. "Does a provisional license change that?"

"It does, while not a full pro-hero licence, it would allow you students greater roles in the field, and give you the limited capacity to pursue villains rather than just fight to defend yourselves." Eraser took over from there, giving them a brief description of what having a provisional license would entail.

"I don't need to tell you that such a thing is highly converted among students, as the exams are known to attract more than 600 participants, with the exams having a failure rate of 50% on average." He added on, seeing how some grew nervous about it as the Sports festival has been their only real contest and that was geared towards the hero course within a single year. He decided to not tell them how when he and Mic went through this in their second year, they had to face off against 900 other students.

"So that means the entire class 1-A could fail?" Monoma asked, getting groans from both classes as they could tell what he was talking about with how he phrased his question.

"The same would apply to 1-B, Monoma. You're all at greater risk of that because I can tell you right now over 90% of the participants are second and third years." Eraser shut that down quickly.

"Normally, these exams are for 2nd years, and 3rd years trying to gain a license before they finish school as without the experience one can gain using a license, it's incredibly difficult to find work," Vlad explained as like with any other job, one needed experience but you needed the experience to get a job. Agencies didn't like to waste time training sidekicks in all that they'll need to learn from the ground up as there was only so much a hero school could teach you. If one had to pick between someone who had a few months of work experience thanks to their provisional license and someone who doesn't, they'll pick the first person 8 times out of 10.

"It's just like U.A. to throw us into the deep end." Tokage combed a hand through her hair, as she wondered why they didn't just wait for their second year then if that was the norm, but recalled that U.A. liked doing things its way.

"Unfortunately, Monoma's observations are correct. If we are to take the same exam, we'll crush each other and considering the fact our competitors will all have greater experience and training than us, it would simply be logical for our two classes to actively target one another." Tokoyami noted, with the two groups eyeing one another, seemingly thinking about who to take out first.

"Which is why you'll be heading to different venues; no school sends more than a single class to any exam." Eraser cooled off any tensions there, as some even expressed relief that if nothing else, they wouldn't be forced to get ahead over the backs of classmates.

"The exam is held in 3 different places and is held twice a year. Once in August and again in November." Vlad added in as Monoma breathed a sigh of relief.

Before the blonde went on another one of his tangents. "It's such a pity that we won't be able to face each other directly and prove ourselves the superior class!" watching this, class 1-A didn't quite know how to react as they had gotten used to how much Monoma seemed to hate them, but with shock off the table, what then? Anger, disgust, discomfort?

"He's nuts," Shinso noted.

"He sounds more relieved than smug to me," Kaminari added.

"It's great that we won't be forced to knock each other out like the Sports Festival, but that still leaves everyone else, hundreds of them." Sero brought them back to the other issue, the way they might have gone after people they knew.

"Correct, you'll be going up against students with quirks you don't know, with more training than you have. Of course, they could be other 1st years but it's rare for students like yourselves to attempt it, those who do are typically a cut above the rest." Aizawa stated, giving them just the tiniest ego boast by mentioning how only exceptional first years tried for this.

"That sounds difficult, and it is I won't sugarcoat it but try to remain calm, study the situation and trust in your training." He added as he had increased what was planned for the summer camp for this very reason. To ensure that they would have the tools and knowledge to succeed, to ensure that they wouldn't lose another one.

"Can't you give us a clue about what he might be up against?" Hagakure asked him but his compassion didn't extend that far.

"I can't as it's different every year, but even if I did know, I wouldn't tell you." The invisible girl sighed as if it was a long shot anyway.

"Figures."

"With that out of the way, we have another thing to discuss, recall that I mentioned you'll be getting a new classmate." The forever tired-looking teacher changed things up, which surprised both classes as one hadn't been informed of this till now and the other recalled that things were meant to go differently.

"They're here?" Kirishima asked.

"Didn't you say they'll be joining us when school starts up again?" Jiro asked the second question, both of whom Aizawa answered.

"The principal thought it would be a good learning experience for them to join us early. I think you all know her, but I'll introduce her anyway." He turned and walked towards the main gates into the school, which opened as two people walked through, the sight of which drew all eyes to them.

"No way…" Tetsutetsu muttered, catching sight of scarred arms and legs, left visible thanks to the short-sleeved shirt and standard U.A. girls' skirt she wore.

"Isn't she…?" Shoji started to ask but lost his words mid-sentence as the girl moved towards them, grasping the hand of a child that walked with her.

"What the fuck?" Bakugo asked as he took in the green and dark hair, now altered thanks to the thick strands of white that decorated it, along with a pair of white fucking horns?

"Everyone, meet the newest member of class 1-A, Midoriya Izuku." Aizawa introduced her, with the girl coming to a stop before them with an eager if not a little shy smile. Holding onto Eri's hand, she bowed to them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all." She spoke, this not being the first time any of them had heard her as they had all seen her interview if only the highlights by now. But she was now standing before them, wearing the U.A. girls' uniform though it did look like she didn't know how to handle the tie as it was both too thick and too short. The other exception to her dress code was the fact that atop her head was a pair of white, jagged horns that extended maybe 20 cm if not more as they managed to stick out of the mane of green, black and white hair she had going.

"…Hi." Eri followed her mother's example, but retreated quickly and hid behind her legs, with Izuku moving just a little to cover her a little more, seemingly without thinking. Unlike them, she didn't wear a uniform but rather was wearing her going-out clothing, which included her small carry-back for all the stuff she might need or want to carry.

"Alright then, get into the bus, we have a schedule to keep." There was a pause from both classes, even from Eri and Izuku as they wondered if Aizawa was serious about that, if he thought that he could reveal this to them and that they'll act like nothing had happened but it took only one look at the man to see that he expected exactly that.

'Seriously?!' The two classes seemed to want to scream but kept to the confines of their minds. Wondering if this was the kind of man her homeroom teacher was, Izuku decided it wasn't worth the effort to figure out at the moment as she would have plenty of time later. So she smiled down to Eri, getting her attention before pointing towards the bus that Aizawa was directing them to.

"Come on, Eri." She spoke, getting a little nod from her daughter who gripped her hand tight, still not the best at going to new places but she wasn't getting better and till she did, Izuku would be more than happy to stick to her like glue. Hearing her speak knocked some of them out of their confused loop as they started following her lead, but Bakugo moved toward her instead, so many questions in his head that he wanted answers to.

He reached for her shoulder to stop her, having the sense to avoid coming from the side and she held the little brat's hand as he didn't wish to come off as aggressive towards her.

"De-" Only to be caught when right before his hand came into contact with her shoulder, she knocked it aside and fixed him in place with a heated look, one that held none of her old kindness but rather held hints of resentment and caution.

"Don't talk to me, or my child." She didn't even wait for a response as she turned and continued, with Eri sparring him a single glance before she turned around, leaving him there for a moment before he was knocked out of it by Kaminari yelling he needed to get a move-on.

Izuku didn't quite know what to expect going in. Once she had received her orders to infiltrate U.A. as a spy, she had done her best to research her future classmates and teachers. As the sports festival had already gone down while she was kept in a sterile white hole in the ground, she had been able to watch and study it extensively. It was through that she learned a little more about her classmates than she would have known if she had gone in from day 1 such as how the small one, Mineta should be avoided if his stunt with the heiress, Yaoyorozu was any indication of his character. Then there was the son of Endeavour who strangely enough didn't use any fire during the festival outside melting whatever ice he left behind.

She even learned a little about Iida Tenya, the now deceased youngest son of the Iida hero family, the one whose death at the hands of the still active hero killer was the reason there was a free spot in class 1-A for her to take. She didn't quite like that she was sharing another class with Bakugo, even if she had no doubts that he would have gone into U.A. as while his attitude and actions were anything but, hero schools largely focused on powerful flashy quirks and his was one of the most powerful and show-stopping. Still, she felt like there was something…different about him, in how he acted during the festival, while he was loud and explosive, he was much more tamed which to most would seem ludicrous, but she knew him, she had seen and felt like he could be like and he didn't seem like that. Even when he approached her before they got off the bus, he didn't walk in the way she remembered as he approached slowly, cautiously.

She didn't like it. A Bakugo she couldn't predict wasn't something she would like to deal with, so she'll avoid him for now and seeing how he hadn't tried to say another word to her since they started their journey, it appeared that he was sticking to her words to keep his distance.

When it came to the others, while wild and eccentric in their ways, she found that it was a fun sort of chaos as they didn't even wait till the bus started moving before they introduced themselves to her and started a conversation with her, something that made her happy on the inside as she had never been a part of a clique before, so having an entire class of people to talk was a fun experience, it was such a relaxing atmosphere that Eri didn't notice she stopped holding her hand looked at each of them with wide, curious eyes, eager to learn but too shy to ask.

Breaking the chaos, one of the girls who as she expected, was taller than her approached, the heiress. "Excuse me, I'm Yaoyorozu Momo, the class rep, and I'll like to welcome you to our class." She held out a hand for her to shake, to which she reached for it and gave it a good squeeze.

"Thank you, Aiz-Eraserhead-sensei already introduced me, but this here is my little blessing, Eri." Eri blushed at the attention on her before burying her head into her mother's chest, getting her to chuckle as she combed a hand through her hair, taking back her other hand. "She's a shy one, don't take it too hard."

"It's quite alright," Yaoyorozu replied, having seen the interview, she knew that Midoriya wasn't the most social due to her circumstances and was grateful that she wouldn't get such harsh treatment in UA, not with how positive the reception was for her.

"She's so adorable!" Ashido squealed, having barely held it in from the jump but she couldn't contain herself as Eri was too cute! How could someone ever mistreat such a peach?

"I know!" Hagakure was with her on that point, but that did raise questions from the others who felt that it was an appropriate time to ask.

"Is there a reason that you brought Eri along with you, Midoriya?" Shoji asked and to his alarm, Izuku didn't react to him speaking through one of his tentacles in the way he expected, as she shined for a moment as if amazed by them before she replied, hugging the little girl close.

"She would normally be with her grand-momma, but she was busy today and we couldn't find a sitter. Luckily the principal gave his consent to her tagging along with me." She told them, resting her chin in Eri's hair as she couched the girl for face forward, safe on her mother's lap.

"She's really your kid?" Kaminari asked, if a little rudely.

"In every way that counts!" Midoriya replied with a pep as Jiro smacked Kaminari upside the head for his insensitive question.

"Might I ask if you're partaking in the exam?" Tokoyami asked her, as it was already highly irregular for a transfer student to join them so late into the school year, regardless of how high profile they were, but to join them on the exam seemed a step too far as she didn't even have a day's schooling in heroics.

Speaking up, Eri turned to him and upon seeing his face, grew pale and quickly turned away in her mother's chest. This confused him and those that caught it, he had experienced mutant discrimination before, but that was mainly hate and fear of his uncommon features, but Eri's reaction…that was different, it was far stronger, instinctual as if she associated his face with some coming tragedy.

Izuku also picked on this and flashed him an apologetic smile as she comforted her daughter. "I'm not, I'll only attend with you to observe and learn from the stands, so I'll be Eraserhead-sensei for most of it." She nodded towards the man seated up front close to the driver.

"You have a pretty daughter; would it be okay if he held her-" Asui ceased in her question as in that moment, that single moment that she looked into Midoriya's eyes, she saw that protective and oh-so-destructive side to her, a side of her that would jump her then and there and tear her to pieces bare-handed if need be. One that her instincts screamed centred around the little girl in her lap.

That moment passed as Izuku reigned in it, apologetic for scaring the shit out of her new classmates on the first say. "Sorry about that, I'm still getting comfortable with handing her to others I don't know, but if she wants to," She looked towards Eri, giving her the choice of if she went or stayed.

Eri looked indecisive as she wrung her hands together. "Is she nice?"

Izuku sparred the girl a look and smiled before turning back to Eri. "I'm sure she is, Blessing." She planted a little kiss on her head.

Now, with her mother's endorsement, Eri felt comfortable enough to choose. "…Okay." It was a simple transfer as Asui exchanged seats with Shoji, the large boy being more than willing to accommodate for her. Once in the seat, Midoriya easily lifted Eri onto Asui's waiting lap.

Looking at her, she gave her a little wave and smile. "Hello, Eri, I'm Asui Tsuyu but you can call me Tsu."

"Hello, Tsu," Eri replied, still a little shy about this but Asui had just the way to open her up, one she had used with her younger siblings for years.

"(Kero) You remind me of my sister, you're cute like her." She croaked, getting Eri to blush a little at the compliment, but she smiled regardless, as she enjoyed wearing all the colourful and fancy clothes she could, loving all the different feels and styles the shop and grand-momma could provide after spending so long dressed so plainly.

"Thank you very much." "I like your hair. It's green like momma and grand-momma's!" Eri replied, focused on how Asui's hair reminded of her the two people that she felt safe around, did that mean she was also nice? One of her friends had leaves for her and he was super nice!

"I'll try my best." Asui blushed a little at that, the rest of the class finding the scene to be a pleasant one.

Seeing her chance to help get Eri to feel at ease, Izuku smiled as she started to tell an interesting story. "It is, which is why Eri asked for a hair her beautiful hair dyed green." Her smile only grew as Eri jumped in Asui's lap, knowing where this story was going.

"Momma!"

Against her daughter's pout, she pat her head and continued the story. "I was against it in the beginning as she wanted to look more like my mother and me and she doesn't need to change her lovely hair to match us to be a Midoriya."

Asui nodded to this, giving Eri a stern look which barely held any fire. "She's right you know; you don't need to change yourself to fit it." Good on Izuku for teaching her that.

"But then she gave me this look and I just couldn't, so we compromised and she only got a portion of it dyed." Izuku wiggled at her sight, remembering the encounter and just how adorable her daughter looked when she made her case. It was weak as hell and she knew she should have said no, but she just couldn't, not when she looked like such a treat!

"Is it a similar story with the horns, I don't recall you having them on the TV?" Jiro asked, connecting the dots as Izuku reached for the pair of fake horns on her head, ones that were attached to her.

"Partly, they're support items to help my body regulate how much venom is flowing in my veins as while I naturally create the stuff, like with any other hormone, too much is dangerous." She explained, that the doctors told her that in around 6-8 months, she'll be able to get rid of them as by then, her body would have fully adapted. "But I did have them styled to look like horns so me and my blessing could match." She booped Eri's horn as she said that, getting her to yelp cutely as Izuku played with her.

"So, it's like Aoyama's belt? It's something you just need?" Sero asked, getting a nod from her.

"While not as flashy as my belt, it's far from drab in my-" Aoyama started but Ashido cut him off.

"That's so sweet, hey, you two can be horn buddies with me and Kirishima!" The pink-skinned student pointed towards the redhead in the back who waved.

"That would be great!" Izuku wholeheartedly agreed with that.

"Is there a reason you're coming to observe us?" Todoroki asked, having spoken up for the first time since he introduced himself, getting a shove from Hagakure.

"Shoto, that's rude." The invisible girl told him, getting him to blush a little at being admonished by her of all people.

"No, it's a fair question." Izuku waved it off. "To answer your question, Todoroki, I have an eye for analysis, especially regarding quirks and the principal agreed so I'll be present to learn via observation and speaking with Eraser-sensei."

"So, you're going to study us?" Sato asked.

"You and everyone else, don't worry, I'll be sure to take detailed notes." From out of nowhere, she pulled out two different notebooks, both empty and ready to be filled. Most thought it extreme that she would need 2, but Bakugo knew her enough to know that she might need more if she was to have so many people to study, but he did find it odd that these weren't from her old 'Hero Analysis for the Future' as she would have labelled them as such, instead they were merely labelled 'notes'.

We're starting to see more changes to the timeline as with Midoriya outing both the police and some heroes, she's undermining them in the same way that the villains did by the end of the war arc, which is impressive as it took the villains a little over a year in the universe and 6 seasons to nearly destroy the public's faith in the system and heroes, and here she is landing a critical hit in the opening salvo.

Also, before any of you wonder, yes, I know that according to canon, the Provisional Licences Exams take place in June and September but I shifted it for the sake of the story and because when I looked it up, that timetable wouldn't make sense. Most Japanese schools close for summer in July, not June which would mean most students would be more focused on their end-of-semester exams so having 2nd and 3rd years also need to worry about getting this license during that time seems like it'll be asking too much and giving them unneeded stress. That then leaves the second month, September but we know that UA doesn't return for its second semester till AFTER the Provisional Licences Exams which again, Japanese schools typically return from summer break in August.

So, I moved it to August to better suit things and because Aizawa mentions that 1-A's goal for their first summer break was obtaining those same provisional licenses, which means that it HAD to happen during the break. This isn't impossible mind-you as the typical length for a school's summer break is long enough to contain Shigaraki and Deku meeting at the mall, the events of the special training episode with villain All Might, the class going to the use the school pool, the events of the first movie, the expected week they thought they'll be at the summer training camp and still have time over for them to train for and take part in the provisional license exam, though it would admittedly be an insanely packed summer break with little time to relax.

For Izuku's design, I did give her the horns as a means to help her and Eri bond but also because during the planning process when I was writing down the points that essentially serve as the guide for each chapter in terms of what and how things are covered, I decided to give her horns because I wanted her to take a little inspiration from Lucifer from the Helltaker, something that only came up as for some reason, the fandom has collectively decided that villain Deku always dresses smart, that combined with the image of her having some white hair thanks to her trauma and I went from there. I also think it's a fun way to show how she's shifting from her canon heroic self who designed their costume to include All Might's bangs which people mistake for bunny ears, and with bunnies being largely considered 'good' creatures, why not give a villain variant of Izuku devil horns?

Next chapter will be out August 23rd, but if you wish to read it early, it's already available on my P-a-t-r-e-o-n at p-a-t-r-e-o-n / Ducksmakegreatminers
