13632: Ladies, we've been over this; if you're going to have a side gig that's fine. Just make sure your Admiral knows about it first!
13632a: "How come my office is getting inundated with requests from fashion companies for a pin up model?!"~ Admiral Williams who is long overdue for a dose of shipgirl insanity.
13633: Also, while the regulations for shipgirls are extremely lax, they do still apply. So while you're on base please be wearing either human military approved clothing or your summoning outfit. We don't need another incident like the one where Queen Mary came back to the base wearing an outfit that makes a Leia slave dress look tame.
Every admiral has his own preassigned date with shipgirl insanity. At least that's what most of them would tell you. Now the distribution of shipgirl insanity is hardly fair and some admirals, namely Briggs, Holloway, and Goto. have more insanity to deal with on a daily average basis. While Admirals like Williams hardly seem to have to endure the over-the-top shipgirl craziness that occurs. Williams assumed this was because the combination of kanmusu beauty plus California's sunny beaches and record public indecency incidents counted towards said dosage. He was so wrong. In fact, the gods of MSSB have realized he had been largely overlooked and decided to send a little reminder of whose universe he lived under.
The day started seemingly like any other. Williams entered his office at precisely 05:00 as he did every day. Base housing was a mere 5 minute car ride to the headquarters building where he worked.
Surprise, who was one of the few sailing ships not to exhibit some form of insanity, met him in the lobby with a stack of papers. She handed him his schedule for the day.
"Anything new?" He asked her as the pair walked to the stairs. Unlike some admirals, Williams believed in exercising whenever he could.
"Not really, no. New Jersey returned late last night with the last convoy. I think she's still in the mess hall. Unless Iowa dragged her off somewhere." Surprise said and Williams chuckled. Iowa-class gluttony was for most personnel a source of envy for many people but he found it more amusing than anything.
"Carter sent a request to do a photo op which I signed off on. Nothing major just a quick spot on the local tv." Williams nodded. Most submarines did poorly in the spotlight but Carter understood her roll well and he trusted her not to spill anything major.
They reached the door to Williams' office. "Oh and the LA Times have called no less than three times this morning already. They want to schedule an interview."
"Interview, with who?" Williams asked. Such things were not uncommon. Every base had its famous faces and San Diego had a few of them.
"Queen Mary." Surprise answered and Williams grunted, not surprised. Normally he'd send a minder to press interviews to make sure the shipgirls displayed proper military etiquette but the liner was one of the few he knew could handle herself without any problems.
"Anything else?" He asked as he walked into his office and set his things down on his desk.
"Hmm, yes, The BBC also wants an interview with Mary as soon as she's off transport duty. Also, there's no fewer than three requests from directors in Hollywood."
"To use her as a film prop I imagine." Williams mused. Having shipgirls around complicated such matters. Where once Hollywood would simply ask the City of Long Beach if they could use the Queen Mary, now the additional step of asking Mary herself had to be taken into consideration. Iowa occasionally got the requests as well and he knew Missouri did too. Neither had an issue with it and would often dress up to be extras in the film. Mary was no different. Or so he assumed.
"Well yes but that's not exactly..." Whatever Surprise was going to say cut off with the sound of sirens.
Williams looked out the window to see a pair of cars, one of them making its best impression of a donut around a tree. While the other vehicle had become an accordion. More crashes were heard down the street and Williams strained to make out what was going on. There were a few pedestrians gawking, most of them human personnel. The rest were kanmusu who were all staring in one direction. A few looked disgusted but most were practically green with envy.
Even Iowa, and Williams could just make out the battleship's distinctive blonde head, let out a catcall. "You got it goin' on, girl!" She said.
Shockingly, the cause of all this was Mary and she was... "HURK!" Surprise doubled over, clutching her now very bloody nose. Any further description would be considered highly inappropriate but suffice it to say that Mary's outfit was nothing more than a few strings of fabric. "When did she pierce her nipples?" Williams wondered outloud and promptly blushed when Surprise glared at him.
"That's not the priority at the moment sir." The sailing ship ground out.
"No indeed." Williams sighed. "Find someone unaffected by this and bring Mary to me. I want to know what is going on here."
"Yes sir."
Thankfully there were a few older men and one or two repair ships who had enough professional sense to overcome their natural tendencies and corral the naked liner before she caused any more trouble. Mary stood before Williams now and the admiral had to use every bit of self control he had to avoid giving into his baser instincts. The problem with all kanmusu was they were very easy on the eyes and luxury liners like Queen Mary were almost too beautiful to avoid staring at. And that was before the issue with the current outfit came into the picture.
"Would it kill you to put a coat on or something?" Williams asked her, popping back a pair of Viagra.
"I didn't bring one with me." Mary shrugged and if anything she seemed amused and a little smug that this was happening.
"What were you doing out in town in such a lewd outfit anyways?" He asked, settling down a little now.
"Well, I got this really lucrative deal as a model and..."
"Hold up, you're a model?" Williams had nothing against his girls finding jobs in society. In fact, he encouraged it as it often helped make the girls seem more human and further separated them from the enemy.
"Yes. I'm a film star admiral. You can't say you're surprised that I decided to continue that gig in this form." She ran her hands down her sides, cocking one leg forward almost flirtatiously. Williams felt the Viagra go into action as it struggled to combat his response to that.
"Just- okay I needy you to tell me if you're going to do a job like that. What you wear out in town is none of my concern. But next time you come back onto the base, you need to wear something decent."
"Yes admiral." Mary nodded.
"Dismissed." Mary turned on heel, offering a saucy smile and flick of her hair before she left. As soon as the door closed Williams leaned back into his chair and made his best impression of a sack of potatoes.
