AN: Thank you to all those who voted on 'What Jack's Boggart Should Be and Should I Make It Funny'

Going by the votes: 3 for the sister, 4 for Jamie, and 1 for Guardians.

As for the 'Should I Make It Funny' part, I went with 'No' sorta and went with a suggestion given to me by 'Sparrow-Talon' - It's not exactly what you suggested, but I hope you like it anyway :) .

Everyone was backed up against the wall, watching as Neville stood alone in front of the wardrobe as it slowly opened and Professor Boggart Snape emerged, looking just like the real one down to his hooked nose and greasy hair.

Shaking like a leaf, Neville pointed his wand at the Boggart and said "R –r-reddikulus!" he squeaked.

With the sound of a whip cracking, Boggart Snape stumbled over his own feet and was now wearing a long , lace trimmed dress and a tall hat topped with a moth-eaten vulture, and swinging from his arm was a huge crimson red handbag.

There was a roar of laughter; the Boggart paused, confused, and Professor Lupin shouted "Parvati! Forward!"

Parvati Patil moved forward, a set look on her face. Boggart Snape rounded on her. There was another crack, and where he had been standing, now stood a blood-stained bandaged mummy. its sightless face was turned to Parvati and it began moving towards her, it's arms out in front of it.

"Reddikulus!" cried Parvati.

A bandage unravelled at the mummy's feet, making it trip over them and fall face first into the floor, it's head coming off.

"Seamus!" roared Professor Lupin.

Seamus ran up past Parvati Crack! Where there mummy had been now stood a woman with floor length hair and a skeletal, green-tinged face – a banshee. She opened her mouth and began screaming, making most students cover their ears.

"Reddikulus!" shouted Seamus.

The banshee made a rasping noise and clutched her throat, her voice gone.

'Crack!' The banshee turned into a rat, which chased its tail in a circle, then 'Crack!' became a rattle snake, which slithered and writhed before 'Crack!' becoming a single bloody eyeball.

"It's confused," Lupin called out "We're getting there! Dean!"

Dean hurried forward.

'Crack!' the eyeball became a severed hand, which got up and started racing around the room, reminding Jack of another severed hand he knew, making him grin a little wondering if Dean should meet Gomez and Morticia.

"Reddikulus!" yelled Dean.

There was a snap and the hand was now caught in a mouse trap.

"Excellent! Ron, you next!"

Ron jumped forward, but froze as (after a 'Crack!' a few screams from everyone) a giant, eight-legged, six-feet tall, covered in hair spider appeared, snapping it's pincers at Ron, slowly moving forwards.

Jack was sure Ron had become frozen in fear and was about to step in to help when Ron called out "Reddikulus!"

The spiders legs vanished, It rolled over and over; Lavender Brown screamed and ran away from it as it came towards her.

Rolling his eyes, Jack looked up as the Fearling came to a stop in front of him, pausing as if trying to work out just what will scare Jack the most.

Then with a Crack! a few paces away stood a 10 – 12 year old boy, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a missing tooth, wearing snow-weather right clothes, looking straight up at Jack

"Jamie..." Jack said under his breath, his grip on his wand loosening a little.

"I don't believe in you anymore Jack Frost!" Jamie Bennett said purposely not looking at Jack but over at an empty space. "Why should I believe in someone who isn't even there?"

Jack was starting to breath faster, blinking tears from his eyes, and shaking his head.

"No. No that's not true." Jack said re-tightening the hold he had on his wand "No Jamie does still believe in me. He – He does. I'm sure of it."

"Does he?" the Fearling asked turning to Jack a grin on it's face that didn't suit Jamie Bennett. "Just because he was the first to believe in you... Doesn't mean he will always believe in you. You're nothing but an expression. A myth. A story. A nuisance." with each word the Fearling stepped closer to Jack, while Jack backed away, wand still in hand and raised, but shaking, his heart rate and breath growing more and more each second. "All you do is burst water pipes, mess with Bunny's egg hunts, kill people with your powers, and make it so they can't leave their houses for days after you visit them."

"No I don't!" Jack said gritting his teeth, "I might have done that before, but that was when I was just learning my about my powers!"

Professor Lupin was watching on with a thinking look on his face. Dumbledore had told him Jack Frost was 'special' but he wasn't quite sure how. Then again this conversation had been going for a few minutes now and Jack was still fighting. 'Just give him a bit longer,' he thought to himself 'Then I'll step in.'

The class on the other hand were in a mix of emotions – mostly confused and sad for Jack that this boy that looked like he could be his brother was saying all these hurtful words to him.

"Yeah right!" the Fearling disguised as Jamie said tipping his head back laughing "You're no better than Old Man Winter! You don't belong in this world! You... Are... NOTHING!"

Just as Jack was about to snap and fire a good aimed shot of very cold, very sharp icicles at the Fearling, Harry stepped up in front of him, arms wide, blocking Jack from its view.

There was a pause and then it started to change its form for Harry, but before it finished changing its form, Professor Lupin stepped up in front of him.

'Crack!'

Everyone looked around to see where the Boggart had gone, and soon saw a large orb floating in the air confusing some people, muttering about crystal balls.

Jack on the other hand, could tell it was a full moon, however seeing it at this exact moment, didn't make him feel any better, so he just turned around and ran out of the room, no one bothering to stop him.

He ran until he was back in the Defence classroom where he went to grab his things before heading back up to the Gryffindor common room and his dormitory where he fished in his trunk for his snowglobe.

He knew nothing the Fearling said was real, and that Jamie did still believed in him, and would never say any of those things the beast just said, but he just wanted to be sure.

He was about to smash the globe on the floor, when the other boys came in to make sure he was ok.

"I'm fine," Jack said avoiding everyone's eyes, which was hard since they were surrounding him.

"Jack," Harry said a mix of a sigh and smirk on his face as he quoted Bunny from the summer "You're not a teenage girl. Besides something is very obviously not fine with you, if you came here instead of the Astronomy Tower, or the Owlery."

"What's that's supposed to mean?" Jack asked his grip on the snowglobe tightening a little.

"Well every other time you've been upset mate," Seamus said sitting on his bed "You've gone to one of those places. And yet this time you've come here."

"That doesn't mean something's wrong." Jack said looking into the globe and seeing Jamie's house, really wishing it could show him the boy instead.

"Jack..." Dean spoke up trying this time. "First up, was... was that you're little brother? What the Boggart turned into?"

There was a moment of silence before Jack answered "No, but he's as good as one." seeing his fellow dorm-mates confused looked he sighed and sank down onto his own bed. "I... lost my family when I was very young." Jack said speaking slowly so he could get the story right. "For a while I wondered around, not exactly sure who I was, or where I should be, and I couldn't find a job so I had to nick food from shops, so yeah I wasn't all that liked."

That last part was a lie, but Jack thought Dean, Ron, and Seamus would ask questions about it.

"Anyway, one day I came across a kid who was getting picked on by some bullies because he believed in strange 'unknown' unreal things. I sent the bullies packing with a few good shots, helped the kid up and saw to it he got home. Since then I've watched over him, coming back to see him once and a while – making sure he's doing ok, then one Easter, while my family were sick, I went to stay with him and his family for a bit and we got along quite well." Jack said chuckling a little "So well, that by the time my family were all better, Jamie didn't want me to leave."

"Do you still go and see him?" Neville asked smiling a little.

"Yeah I do," Jack said nodding. "Only not as much as before, because my family moved away from his hometown. I used to live close by – which I was happy to keep doing, but my family didn't think the place I was staying was right for a kid to live."

"Hey Jack, I've got a few questions about what Boggart Jamie said," Ron said not sure if this was a good idea.

"Such as..." Jack said sighing.

"Mostly about you being an expression, and killing people, and shutting them in their houses." Ron said quickly.

"Not to mention Old Man Winter," Neville added, but went quiet again as Jack looked up at him with a small glare at hearing the name.

"Well..." Jack began, again taking it slowly "Old Man Winter was, let's say, a 'Not-all-that-nice Ancestor of mine. So yeah. I'm not going to say what he did, or what happened to him, but I want nothing to do with him. Sadly though, because this..." Jack said using his wand to shoot some frost magic at the window "And him being known for having the same power, a lot of people compare me to him, and therefore want nothing to do with me."

"Sorta like me and the 'Heir of Slytherin' nonsense last year then?" Harry asked smiling.

"Yeah, I guess," Jack said nodding. "As for the other things... I'm not really up to explaining them right now. I think I'll just go to bed if none of you mind."

"Actually, Professor Lupin said he'd like to speak to you at some point," Neville said surprising calm "But I guess we can tell him he can wait until tomorrow."

The others nodded and after checking Jack was for sure ok, left, leaving him and Harry there in the dorm.

"You're still going to go check on him, aren't you?" Harry asked, seeing Jack was still holding and looking into the snowglobe.

"Of course I am." Jack said nodding to himself, his eyes shooting to the door for a bit.

"Wouldn't be better to write him a letter?" Harry asked not sure Jack should do this, but not going to stop him.

"Letters can be intersected, opened by strangers, rewritten by said stranger, and the person you're writing to can either never get the message or get the wrong message completely." Jack said changing out of his school clothes and into his brown pants, white shirt, and blue hoodie. "Besides, Jamie lives back in America, and I need to know now. I can't send off Archie or some other owl and wait days for his answer. Besides, I doubt they're used to wizard post."

"Fine..." Harry said strangely agreeing to everything Jack just said. "Just be back before tomorrow morning. I don't really want to be the one to tell everyone why you've suddenly disappeared."

"I'll be back before the morning, I promise" Jack said smiling as he stuffed a pillow under his bedsheets and pulled the curtains around it.

Rolling his eyes, Harry headed for the door, just as he closed it he heard the snowglobe activate and then silence.
