AN: You do not need to read this chapter to carry on with the story.

In this chapter: Jack Frost is in Burgess to visit Jamie, but forgetting about time differences is unable to see the boy, so has a conversation with someone else instead.

Jack Frost, still in his human disguise (i.e brown hair and brown eyes, even wearing trainers) hopped out of the snowglobe portal beside the large tree by his lake.

Stuffing the globe into his hoodie's pocket, Jack looked around and set off to the school to check up on the kids.

Unfortunately, the gates were shut and so were the doors, meaning everyone was still inside in their classes.

Sighing, Jack turned around and headed back to the lake, to spend some time there to calm down a little more.

As he got there, he saw one of Pitch's Nightmares waiting there.

"I'm not in the mood to fight you right now alright," he said ignoring it and walking past and climbing up into his tree.

He had just pulled himself onto one of the branches when the Nightmare grabbed him by his hoodie and pulled him back down.

"Whoa! Hey!" Jack said in a mix of surprise and anger "What do you want?"

Calling out, and riding back a little, the Nightmare turned and started running towards the broken wooden bed, pausing every so often to check the boy was following it.

As they got there, Jack saw Pitch Black waiting by the bed, petting the Nightmare, who had calmed down a little.

Groaning loudly, Jack trudged over and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Hello Jack," Pitch said smiling gently.

"Yeah, hi," Jack replied avoiding Pitch's eyes.

"So... How'd you're lesson on Fearling's go?" the older spirit asked sending the Nightmare away and sitting down next to the boy.

"Not as well as I would have liked, to be honest." Jack said sighing "But you should know that yourself, right? What with you being the Spirit of Fear and all."

"Well I personally would say you were handling it quite well," Pitch said leaning back a little, looking into the sky.

"I couldn't do anything, and then ran out or the room when the teacher stepped up and the Fearling shifted into Manny." Jack said putting his hood up and hugging his legs to himself tightly. "The... The things it said... The whispers the class muttered behind me..."

The wind picked up a little as Jack was talking, but Pitch let the boy carry on, thinking best not to interrupt.

"I didn't even know what my fear was," Jack said getting up and spinning to look at Pitch "You said it was 'That no one would ever believe in me.' So why! Why was it Jamie saying he..." gripping his fists Jack turned his back on the man and picked at a pile of leaves,

"Because... That's you're new fear." Pitch said calmly getting up and coming to stand next to the boy.

Jack stayed silent and took slow breaths trying to calm down.

"That Easter, I could also sense the things the Fearling said were also there inside you," Pitch said placing a hand on the boys shoulder "But having no one believe in you was your greatest fear. For back then, you had nobody. No memories. No idea as to why you existed.

"With little Jamie Bennett and his friends finally believing in you, that fear was kicked off the top spot, and replaced by him no longer believing in you anymore."

"Great... Thanks for that." Jack said grumpily, hood still up but not shrugging Pitch's hand off his shoulder.

"Jack," Pitch said spinning the boy around so they could look into each other's eyes "The point is: Fearling's are supposed to get inside their victims heads and make them weak, and prone to do things they wouldn't normally do otherwise." He let Jack go and stood tall again "This being your first time with them, I personally would say you did quite well resisting it."

"Um... Thanks," Jack said in an unsure confused sounded voice, reaching up and pulling his hood down.

Then taking a deep breath looked over towards the town where he thought he could hear the school bell ringing.

"I just... Just want to be sure what it said wasn't what Jamie would say." Jack said after a minute of silence.

"If you're questioning it," Pitch said calmly "Then you know deep down, that he won't, and that he does indeed still believe in you."

"Ok..." Jack said nodding finally accepting the 'advice' Pitch was giving him.

"Good." the older spirit said standing tall "Now, why don't you use that toy of North's and get back to school?" he asked pointing to the lump in Jack's pocket "For you see, I do not want to be the one who gets fingers pointed towards if the Guardians find out you went missing."

"Fine." Jack said taking the snowglobe out "But I'm coming back on the weekend, just to check up on things."

Jack told the snowglobe where he wanted to go, shook it and threw it to the ground.

A shiny red and green portal appeared before the two of them as Jack stepped forward.

"And Pitch..." Jack said before he went through it "Thanks. I... I really needed that."

Giving a surprised look, Pitch recovered quickly and nodded. "You're welcome Jack."

Waving goodbye, Jack went through the portal and came out back into his, thankfully, dormitory feeling much better than before he left.

AN 2: Happy New Year everyone :D

First up - To everyone who has been 'reminding' me about how Hermione was curious of Jack Frost in the first one = I have no plans on what to do for this yet. Sorry. I'm (mostly) one of those writes who writes things down as i go though the story (Which is why COS took 2 years to write).

And I say 'Mostly' because i did actually make a bubble plan for this story, but 'Hermione finding out about Jack' is not on there

Finally - If anybody sees anything wrong with my stories (ie grammar, punctuation, spelling, the words themselves...) Please kindly re-view-port them to me.

.

Either way hope you liked this chapter
