Watching her leader jump into a building that quickly began to crumble on one end, Elise smiled to herself while tilting her head to the side. "Well, I think that went well." She placed her hands on her hips as she looked over at the rest of her team. "Well you know, despite our auras going poof." Her smile grew.
"I really don't get how you can be so optimistic." Kris shook her head. Watching hired mercenaries run out of the building shouting, she stretched her shoulders before reaching behind her back. Pulling out her dual weapons, she spun them around like tonfas with a chaotic grin.
"You two... just remember to be careful, okay?" Cheyenne looked between the two of them. "We're only going to be able to take a couple hits before it really starts to hurt like this." She pulled her rifle and held it close. "Promise you guys will be careful." She glanced down at her friendship bracelet she made.
Eyeing her, the dark brunet let out a soft sigh. "I promise. Don't worry." She reassured her. Blinking, her smile returned as she spotted a man in purple running out. "But right now, I have an ass to kick." She nodded before sprinting ahead and launching herself on top of a cargo truck.
"Well she's taking Dion head on." Kris glanced over her shoulder. "I guess that leaves us with the less fun part of knocking out these rouge Huntsmen." She gestured with her arm. "I bet I can bonk more of them than you."
Scoffing, the Faunus shook her head with soft smile. "I'd like to see you try." She readied her rifle while setting it to ice Dust.
"Ugh." Walking around from behind a vehicle, Ebony let out a fake gagging sound. "Gods, you two inspire the inner psychopath in me." She shuttered with a disgusted expression. "Do you even hear how the two of you are talking? It's utterly awful. Barf me out." She made another sound while sticking her finger in her mouth.
"Don't move." Kris narrowed her eyes at the raven haired Faunus while aiming both her weapons at her. Her fingers carefully resting against the triggers.
Glancing up at her, she flashed a wicked smile back. A carefree look in her eyes. "Whoops. I'm moving." She waved her hand.
Noticing the cue, Cheyenne furrowed her brow before her eyes shot wide. "Get down!" She shouted as she dove towards her friend. Pushing her aside, her breath hitched as she felt a bullet graze her shoulder and ricochet off Kagami's hoodie. Stumbling aside, she caught her balance with her arms out. Quickly turning her head, she glared over.
Calmly jumping down and beside her sister, Ivory held her weapon in marksman rifle form. "Sorry. I missed." She glanced over while blinking once. "I did not mean to." She transformed her weapon back into a spear and held it at her side.
"Don't beat yourself up over it." Ebony unfolded her gauntlets. "It's alright."
"Why... would I hit myself over this?" Her head tilted as her white hair swung to the side.
"That's not-" Cutting herself off, she took a deep breath while reaching up to pinch her nose. "Just..." She pointed with her free hand. "Go take out- I mean, just go stop the human."
"On it." She nodded before dashing ahead.
Smiling, Ebony eyed the light brunette. "That means you're with me." She let out a soft chuckle while extending her panther claws.
Narrowing her eyes, Cheyenne took a deep breath while sliding her rifle away. Reaching to her hip, she pulled out her club and spun it around twice before firmly gripping it. "Now I wish I had my weapons combined like everyone else..." She let out a heavy huff of air before running to the side away from a stream of bullets.
"Tch!" Ceasing her gunfire, she flicked her wrists as the horizontal magazines fell to the ground empty with bullet casings clattering around them. "Don't think you can just evade me forever!" She shouted while replenishing her ammunition.
"That's not my plan!" She quietly snapped back while lunging towards her. Her club bounced off her opponent's gauntlets several times before she began to parry against strikes coming at her.
"You should have just kept to your own damn business!" The dark haired Faunus flashed her teeth with a snarl as she swiped with her claws. The sharp tips barely scraped across the green fabric covering her torso and arms.
"Ebony, language." Her white haired sister calmly called out while jabbing forward with her spear.
Gritting her teeth, Kris jumped back to avoid the attack. "You're joking, right...? Right? She's joking, right?" She pushed off with her back foot while attempting to get closer. Her quick attacks with her bladed candy canes near useless against the range the spear had. She couldn't even get close enough to kick her.
"Oh she is! She really fucking is!" Ebony whipped her head around to glare for a moment. "I don't understand why!" She ducked underneath a swing from Cheyenne's war club. Pushing upward, she drove her shoulder into her chest to offset her balance.
"You said another bad word." Ivory pointed out while casually avoiding bullets that were shot at her. Her hair swayed along with her cream colored skirt.
"Oh you're really, really annoying." The short redhead reloaded her weapons while taking aim again. "I know I'm an annoying bitch, but you're on a whole other level!" She began to quickly fire while running to the side.
Softly scowling back, she shook her head while spinning her spear around to deflect the rounds shot at her. "You are very rude. You and Ebony would probably be friends."
"Why the hell would I be friends with a human!?" The dark haired sister flashed her teeth while locking weapons with Cheyenne. The other Faunus grunting heavily against her.
"Our father is a human." Her snow leopard ears twitched a bit. "Regen and Dion are both human." She shot forward while quickly jabbing at Kris multiple times. The younger girl was barely able to avoid being stabbed.
"I'm not friends with those two bastards!" She hissed before groaning as she was pushed back. Her feet stumbling underneath her before she managed to catch her balance.
"Then why do you work for him?" The deer Faunus softly asked while furrowing her brow. Stepping forward, she swung her club around.
"Because we don't have any other choice!" Narrowing her eyes, she parried against her weapon with her left gauntlet. Raising her right arm, she began to send out a wave of rapid fired bullets.
Letting out a soft gasp, Cheyenne stumbled to the side before sprinting away and sliding behind a truck for cover. Ducking underneath gunfire, she took a few deep breaths to steady her breathing. Thinking quietly to herself, she lowered her head. The sounds around her faded to silence. Sliding her war club away, she glanced up with a much softer expression.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are!" Reloading her weapons, the panther Faunus snarled while making her way around the vehicle ridden with bullet holes. Raising both her arms, she bared her teeth and took aim. Though, instead of shooting, she hesitated and pulled back slightly.
Half smiling, the light brunette stared back at her with her hands up. "You're not one of them. I know what it's like being around people like them..." She averted her eyes with a sigh. "It messes with your head. Makes you someone you're not. Their own darkness lingers on you until you feel like it's your own..."
Staring back at her, Ebony's brow furrowed in bewilderment before she flashed her teeth with a snarl. "You... know nothing about me." She spat out while tensing the muscles in her forearms.
"That's true." She took a deep breath while lowering her arms. She didn't even flinch as the dark haired girl jerked in her direction. "I don't." She slid her hands into her pockets.
"Tch..." Her eyes narrowed. "What the hell is your deal?! Do you want me to kill you?! I can shoot you where you stand right now!"
"So do it." Cheyenne took a step forward.
Silence fell upon the two as the dull sound of fighting continued. Yet neither of them dared to move.
Exhaling, the deer Faunus glanced down at her feet. "I can sense the anger and depression burning inside your soul. It's overwhelming, but it doesn't blind you. You know what Rey is doing here is wrong. More people are going to get hurt. People who don't deserve that fate. You know he needs to be stopped. This whole scheme of his needs stopped."
Clenching her jaw, Ebony kept her weapons raised. "And you know what happens when he is stopped? The flow of lien stops. Bills don't get paid. No one gets to eat. I get put behind bars. Ivory gets put behind bars and she couldn't make it without me by her side constantly. And my parents are left alone with no way to make money themselves. So why not just let the madman run his race? I'm not here to babysit the world. I'm here to take care of my family. And that's it."
The light brunette grew quiet, her shoulders lowering. Taking a deep breath, she extended her right arm. Her brown eyes were soft as she looked her in the eyes. "Then I have a proposal. If you'll hear me out." She half smiled. "I know you don't have a reason to trust me, but I can promise you," There was something in her voice, something in her aura. There was a comforting warmth radiating off her person. "Everything will be okay."
Letting out a raging battle cry, Kris narrowed her green eyes like daggers as she darted around her opponent. Her weapons were held like tonfas with the blades extended. "I don't have time to just keep running around you!" She flashed her teeth while trying to get close and strike. "I have more important things to do!"
Though each attack was easily parried against Ivory's long spear. The white haired girl made sure to keep her distance. Not because she had the advantage that way, but because she didn't like things close and personal. "Sorry. Ebony said to stop you." She mumbled almost under her breath. Taking several quick steps back, she raised her weapon as it transformed into a rifle and fired a shot.
Moving her head to the side, her breath hitched as a bullet flew through her red hair that had fluttered to the side. "Damn it...!" This was an endless stalemate. She needed to try something different. Taking a deep breath, she tucked and rolled away from more bullets. As she did such, she slid her weapons away. "Okay... here we go!" Placing her palms against the ground, she pushed off with both of them and her feet and broke into a full sprint.
"Huh?" The snow leopard Faunus let out a quiet and confused sound. Her head tilted ever so slightly. "What are..." Her eyes widened at the girl bolting at her. "Wait!" She attempted to stab her to keep her away.
"Not a chance!" Using the small speed boost from having her weapons put away to her advantage, Kris slipped back and forth before sliding behind her opponent. With her clothing and hair fluttering from her rapid movements, she reached out and wrapped her arm around her neck. Tightening her grasp, she held onto her in a firm headlock.
Struggling, the white haired girl began to kick her legs while grunting. "D-Don't touch me!" She raised her voice while snapping. Jerking around, the two of them finally lost their balance and fell to the ground with a thud. Still feeling the younger girl holding onto her, Ivory let out a small scream while raising her spear and driving it back.
Clenching her jaw, she kept her right arm around her neck while reaching up to catch and stop the spear in her left. "Just... pass out..." She breathed out while struggling to keep the blade from piercing her neck. Her arm visibly trembled from the pressure.
"Don't TOUCH ME!" Ivory shouted even louder while closing her eyes. Her head was starting to feel foggy and her body hated the presence of another. "GET OFF!"
"No... chance..." Kris took several shaky breaths while wrapping her fingers even tighter around the weapon. The tip was just barely grazing over her skin.
Gritting her teeth, the snow leopard Faunus let out a groan as her head began to pound. She began to shake with strained breaths. As her senses began to fade, a familiar voice yelled at her.
"Ivory!"
"Kris!"
In a blur of confusion, the two girls were separated. Both of them on their knees as they caught their breath.
Crouching down in front of her sister, Ebony made sure to keep her distance. "Okay, hey... hey. We're going to focus on each other, okay? Maybe dinner?" Her head slowly tilted.
Shaking, the white haired girl stared at her sister with wide eyes. Taking a deep and uneasy breath, she slowly moved her hands to her thighs. Her head lowered between her shoulders. "I'm sorry... I could not beat her."
"It's okay." She smiled back while crossing her arms. "I don't need you to do that anymore. We have... a different plan now." She glanced over her shoulder at the two girls talking behind her. Well, Cheyenne was talking. Kris, not so much. Slowly standing, she held out her hand. "We're-" She was cut off, her eyes trailing towards the warehouse that began to crumble in on itself from an explosion. "What... the... what did your idiot friend do?!" She shot a glare back at the two Huntresses in training. Both girls with the same expression on their faces.
