Chapter 8 - A Hampton Surprise
Columbian Cartel, Bogota
"We can not let this man get away, it sends the wrong message to our enemies and customers. We appear weak and ineffective by this. The man must be punished for his action against us", the Cartel boss says to his lieutenants.
"But El Senor, the man will be hard to locate in Africa. We have few resources there!"
"Then El Hefe you must find a way!"
"El Senor how much effort are you willing to spend to punish this man? The man is in-country at some of the remotest places in Africa."
"I think I have a solution", says the second lieutenant in charge.
"And what would that be, El Segundo?".
"We have the man surrender to us."
"And how will we do this?"
"I think I know what El Segundo is getting at, we kidnap someone close to this man and tell the doctor that person will be killed if he does not surrender himself to us", says El Hefe.
"Do we know who this person, or persons, are?"
"Not yet, but give us some time and we will come up with that person", El Segundo assures his Big Boss.
"You have till next week, then I will expect a plan!"
"Si, El Senor, it shall be done", say the two lieutenants in chorus.
The Hamptons
Kate and Rick were at the Hampton beach home for a weekend away, thanks to Martha and Alexis. With Kate going back to work, and taking care of the baby on her off hours, it has been a very trying couple of weeks. So the two ladies had convinced Kate and Rick to have a weekend off to chill and they would take care of Lily. For the two, it will be a time to bond with the new family member: a grand daughter for Martha, and a baby sister for Alexis. Needless to say, Kate and Rick took them up on the offer, knowing their child would be in good hands. Jim Beckett even said that he would drop by and help the two with the new baby. After all, it is Jim's first grand child and he is happy to help.
It is early Sunday now, and Rick and Kate are to leave to get back to NYC later that day. The plan was to get back to the loft by dinner time. They were anxious to return to their daughter, but the weekend had been great. Most of the time had been spent in bed, by the pool, swimming, and for walks on the beach. These were their main activities along with preparing home cooked meals, which the two had come to enjoy as a shared daily task.
For dinner that previous night, Rick had prepared the dessert, and Kate had made lasagna, from her mother's recipe. This was topped off with home baked garlic bread sticks, salad with italian dressing, and their favorite wine. Appetizer had been fried zuchini with a delicious home made dip.
"Wow, that was really a well prepared dinner Kate, you outdid yourself here."
"Well glad you enjoyed it, writer man!"
"So I have taken care of the desserts, of which there are two items?"
"Two, are we trying for a sugar rush here?"
"From the first one, but the second one will be a different kind of rush?"
"And how is that Rickie?"
"Well the second one is served in bed", he replies in a mischievous tone and wiggling his eyebrows up and down for emphasis.
"Oh, ...realizing Rick's intent...so we'll need that first dessert for energy for that second one", Kate says teasingly, completely understanding what that second dessert is to be.
With that Rick pulls out a box that has two small cakes for their first dessert. He places them on the dinner table.
"And what are these?", Kate asks.
"Oh I discovered them quite by accident some time ago at a bakery out in town. While you showered after the swim the other day, I made a quick trip to purchase them. They are an Hawaiian dessert, Kona Cakes, the ingredients of which include macadamia nuts in the cakes, with coconut shavings in the icing. This is the chocolate Kona cake."
"Looks so dangerously decadent", Kate says taking her fork to take a bite of the dessert. But before she can do so, she sees a flash coming off something buried in the top icing of her cake. She uses her fork to get it out as she continues to see the sparkle coming from off the icing.
Kate has a hunch what it might be and her hands are trembling as she removes all the icing that had buried the unknown object. When the object is totally uncovered, Kate realizes her hunch is correct. It is a ring! She sees more clearly now the two carat diamond ring that had been covered with icing.
"Oh Rick", she says holding up the ring for a better view. Then she turns her head to look at Rick and he is no longer in view, but on his knees on her side of the dinner table.
"Kate Beckett, would you honor me and be my wife!"
Kate is absolutely stunned and overwhelmed by Rick's proposal. He had promised to marry her when the time was right and it seemed now was that time. She is speechless for a brief moment and then manages to get out, "Yes, yes. A thousand times yes."
The kona cakes were scrumptious and finished quickly, but the second dessert was the best! Rick took that second dessert, enjoying it, licking it with his tongue, making sure he got a good taste of it!
"Rick", Kate moaned, her mind fuzzy as Rick's sampled her for that second desert. She is on her back. Rick between her thighs. As she gets more aroused by Rick, she pulls his head in closer to her, her thighs closing tightly on Rick's head. What a great way to celebrate their engagement!
These were Kate's recollections of that night before, as she sat in the passenger's seat of the Mercedes, holding Rick's free hand, as they head back to the city. As they make the trip back to NYC, Rick looks down at her hand in his. On the ring finger of that hand is her ring, her engagement ring. It is now official, Kate is his fiancee.
Bogota Cartel HQ
The two lieutenants, El Hefe and El Segundo, were getting ready to brief on their plan to the Cartel Boss. A plan to strike back at the man who testified on the then DWB undetected smuggling scheme that had shut down that operation for good. El Senor, the Cartel's Head, wanted to seek revenge on the man whose testimony caused the shutdown. He wanted to make him an example of what the drug rings does to you if you mess with them and get in the Cartel's way.
El Hefe begins:
"We discovered the man we seek revenge on has a mother who is being cared for in a senior care home. Her health is not good. She needs special prescriptions and use of specialized equipment such as a CPAC at night, air purifier, vaporizer, and the like. She also requires numerous tests to be done regularly on her to monitor her health. Her son, being a doctor, gets a lot of this care provided with a large discount. If we abduct her to entice her son out of hiding, she would need the same treatment and care where we keep her. She is not a good target, too much of a chance of her dying on us before we complete our revenge. However we have found a person who could substitute for her. This one is a far better choice. I will let El Segundo brief on that one."
El Segundo:
"The man whom we are seeking at one time was in a carnal relationship with the lead female detective who arrested Chaves for the Santori hit. This is one fortunate but unexpected circumstance for us. The word is that he broke up with her when she got involved with another man. She bore that man a child. Our doctor was hurt by the breakup, that was the reason he came here to Columbia on a DWB mission. But he still has feelings for this woman. We can use that for our purposes. The Doctor will gladly surrender himself to us to keep his old querida alive. We can hold her captive in any of our houses used for our trafficketed female products. Security is tight in these places and we can keep the woman there safely and indefinitely. Once we have the doctor, we can even turn her. She is very attractive and would draw many men for her service, making us money. She provides us with more than one result: a punishment for her former lover, but also revenge for the Chaves arrest, and profits from her customers when we turn her. She may even provide us a large lump sum if we sell her outright to one of our wealthy Arab Shiek customers. She would make a good addition to any harem. Is this not a more than an ample revenge on the doctor, and we can gain revenue not expected by her kidnapping? This doctor would suffer severely from knowing of the fate that he has inflicted of his former querida. We can even punish him by forcing him to witness her servicing her first customers once she is turned. This woman offers to us many outcomes we had not thought of besides the revenge we want for her ex lover."
El Senior:
"I like this plan. We must let it be known what we did to this doctor and to his former querida once we are done with them. It will indeed be sweet revenge for us. Okay, make this happen", El Senor responds back to his Lieutenants, " but we will not kill this man immediately. He must suffer a thousand deaths before we finally kill him. The woman we will use for that. She will serve us well. The doctor will witness our abuse of her. He will come to know of her tragic fate before we kill him. He will suffer both physically and emotionally before we are done with our revenge. It will be an example to all that we are ruthless and that no one should get in our way. Go leave me now, make his plan work."
"Si, El Senor."
Castle Loft
They were in bed, Kate reading, Rick on his laptop writing. Lily is in between them, resting on her belly, and playing with a little stuff teddy bear that her big sister had given her. It was the same stuff bear that Alexis played with when she was the same age. Every now and then Lily would give out a small giggle, fascinated by the stuff teddy.
"Hey baby girl, are you happy playing with teddy. Yes you are, aren't you?", says Rick as he enjoys teasing his daughter, by grabbing the teddy and dangling it in front of Lily. Every time Lily would reach for the teddy, Rick would snatch it back, causing Lily to squeal loudly.
"Don't pay daddy any attention Lily, he is just trying to get a reaction from you. Just ignore him."
"Kate, it is not right that you turn our daughter against me."
"I am not doing that. I am merely teaching her how to put her father in his place since he is choosing to annoy her. You will not pull her pig tails, since she has none, and that is some thing you will reserve for me!"
"Oh and you have such long and lovely pig tails", Ricks responds and gives her that look.
Kate gives him back a similar look and then they both enter each other's personal space and plant a kiss on the other's lips. They are lingering over Lily as she looks up at them and gives them a loud giggle.
"Oops, I think we forgot we have an audience, future Mrs. C."
"Oh but future Mr. B, our daughter loves to see us affectionate with each other and has voiced her approval. Isn't that right sweet pea?"
"Baby girl, don't listen to your mother. She is just practicing birth control here as this is how it started when we made you."
"Richard Castle, not in front of the baby. Besides, let's get this one weaned before she gets a sibling."
"Is this your way of saying you want more children future Mrs. C?"
"Let's just see what happens with Lily before we take another try."
"I'm up for it."
"Oh but you are always up for it, stud!"
"Katherine Beckett, not in front of the baby", taking her tone like when she had just admonished him before.
"Touche!", Kate replies, realizing she set herself up for that one.
"Well, we need to practice or we will forget how to do it."
"Really! So that's your story. Tell you what writer man, get Lily to sleep and we will go for a practice run."
"Come on Lily, time to sleep", he says as he jumps out of bed and picks up their daughter. He puts her gently to rest in her crib that they had placed beside their bed. He pats Lily's back, talking to her in a soft tone as she rests on her belly, sucking on her pacifier. In short time Lily is sleeping.
Rick heads back to bed and crawls back under the covers. To his pleasant surprise, Kate is sans sleep wear, and Ricks makes haste to shed his.
"You're playing catch up here, studly, do try and keep up."
"Really, like I said, Kate, I'm always up for it!"
"Care to show me that big guy!"
"Yeah, I'll show you big Kate."
A quick while later, Kate is on her back as she is trying to keep her moans of longing desire to a soft and low level so as not to wake up Lily.
"Oh Rick", she says breathlessly in a most soft moan, barely whispering, "that feels so good, don't stop babe, more please. .GOD. YYyyesss."
With those seductive remarks, Rick can not help but tease his lovely financee, and pulls out.
She instantly feels him missing. "Rick, please, don't tease. Just put Studly back in, I was so close!"
That does it for him, his libido enflamed by Kate's urgings, Rick thrusts back deep into her. He buries himself to the hilt and starts pumping at a faster pace. Kate is breathing harder now, her eyes shut, and she is desperately trying not to scream out his name. She cannot wake up Lily. Then Rick does catch up and gets there with her. His thrusts now so erratic, not as steady as before. Rick feels himself getting so close to the edge.
"God Kate, I'm close, what of you?", he barely gets his words out, his breathing labored, and he is panting as he speaks.
Kate does not respond. Rick feels her pinch his ass, digging her nails into his rear cheeks with both her hands, as he thrusts into her with wild abandon. Kate's hands then cup both of Rick's butt cheeks pulling him forcefully into herself, closer, deeper, with his every down stroke. Then Rick feels Kate's contracting muscles grab at his manhood, all the while Kate is gasping for air. The pulsating tightness around studly causes Rick to stiffen his body as he starts to release into her. Kate bites her lower lip, holding back a scream of sheer pleasure and passion. She will not wake up Lilly!
"Oh my God Rick", she says in a hoarse but low soft voice into his ear, the timber of her voice indicating her state of high lustful passion, "stay with me, I'm going over!"
When release does come to the two of them, Rick spilling into her, filling her up, it is with a tangle of limbs, heavy breathing, tight embraces, locked lips, as finally they both go over the top together. As they do, each tries not to call out the other's name too loudly, since Lily is still sound asleep.
After both come down from their primal high, they are lying flat on their backs, each staring up at the ceiling.
"That was a good practice run future Mrs. C", Rick says once he regains control of his voice.
"Well, like you said future Mr. B, we got to keep our skill levels high or lose them, that was a twelve out of ten."
They both laugh softly and then spoon. They fall asleep that way until hours later when Lily wakes up and needs attention.
"I got it Kate, she probably needs a diaper change", says Rick sleepily.
"Rick, you are such a good father. How was I so lucky to get you."
"Well, I have done this before Kate, so I know the routine."
"Well finish up with our daughter, the bed is cold and lonely without you."
"Be right back", he replies as he attends to Lily and puts her on her tummy once again. He pats her back in a soothing manner, all the while watching her, and using low soft tones to make her sleepy. In short time Lily is once again dozing.
Rick crawls back into bed and entangles his limbs with Kate's as they fall back asleep. A peaceful sleep, the result of such sharing and fulfillment that neither has had before. They both know they have found their one.
They wake up as morning comes, with the sound of Lily crying. Kate knows the cry, her baby is hungry. She takes Lily and offers her one of her breasts. Lily takes it and starts to suckle for her mother's milk. Kate looks at her daughter and gets a feeling of total love for her child. Then Kate wonders if her mother had a similar experience when she had nursed Kate. She is experiencing a mother's joy, so overwhelming with its presence in her heart. It is a good start for Kate's day.
Kate feels blessed and realizes she has it all! Something she never thought she could have, or let alone dream about. She had avoided such thoughts in the past, always dreading she would never find her one, so she had almost lost hope in doing so. Kate always had one foot out the door in past relationships. It was easier that way so that when the inevitable breakup came, that would ease the pain and let down of yet another failed joining. Rick Castle had changed that for her. She had her one. Now she takes all those thoughts in, and is thankful to the Universe for her good fortune.
