Shikigami. Tommy had told her about them, but she had never thought that they would be this persistent. She had managed to fight off over a dozen throughout the day as she alternated between watching over Bobby and worrying about Tommy. Sam and Dean had not called to give her an update and she was pretty sure that meant that Tommy had been taken. If it was anything like times past, she was going to have to go to them and help locate Tommy. For some reason they had a knack of finding each other. None of that comforted her as she waited for the next Shikigami to appear.

"Shikigami? Since when have those been outside of Japan?" Bobby asked as he crept up behind her and she wheeled to attack, but managed to just glance her weapon off his shoulder. "How are you up and walking?"

"Not sure. You came and got me when the Shikigami attacked the first time. How do you know what they are?" Kim asked as Bobby gave her a confused look. She was familiar with these beings? "These are the minions for Lipretere. He's in this world, somewhere, if they're here."

"They're just monsters here. Normally found in Japan, but it makes sense that if Lipretere could control something like this in your world- that he could move them around in this world," Bobby said as she nodded. "What else happened?"

"They took Tommy and the boys…" Kim trailed off as she let out a sigh. "I may hate the man, but he has to come back with me. We're a package deal."

"I'll call the boys. You good to hold them off?" Bobby asked as he motioned to the Shikigami and Kim nodded as she turned her back to him and kept her eyes on the front door. It was about time for another one to show up and they had taken all of her concentration each time.

The Shikigami kicked the door open and she let the rest of the world fade away. She vaguely heard Bobby talking to someone, but ignored him as she sank into her powers. It was something that she had gotten very good at over the years. Time seemed to slow as she fought the Shikigami and met it blow for blow. Bobby tossed her a weapon, but she let it clatter to the floor as she timed a blow just right that it sent the Shikigami flying out of his home and she then summoned her blaster and drilled it with a headshot. Another one started up the steps and she drilled it as well. Shikigami after Shikigami came for her and she continued to shoot, lucky for her, her blaster never ran out of shots. When this wave ended, she let out a shaky breath and looked back to see Bobby's awestruck gaze.

"They have him, but they're in pretty bad shape too. Apparently Tommy wasn't…" Bobby trailed off as another Shikigami moved and she aimed a blaster towards his eye line and shot. "Remind me to never piss you off."

"Get me on the phone with them. If Tommy's in bad shape…I can help…" Kim whispered as Bobby shook his head. "Why not?"

"If you haven't noticed- you're the only one that is taking these things out easily. They'll get your boy back here and then you can doctor him up. Until they're here though- I need you sharp shooting," Bobby said as Kim let out a low growl, but she then turned back to stand guard. Bobby rested a hand on her shoulder and she looked up at him, suddenly seeing his appreciation. "Thank you for keeping me alive."

"It's the job, Bobby. It always has been."

Headlights hit the snow covered cars and Kim let out a sigh. Over the last day, she had taken out Shikigami wave after Shikigami wave, but Lipretere had not appeared. For whatever reason, he was not willing to come after them in this world. The snow had started a few hours ago and with it the Shikigami attacks had stopped. It was nearing blizzard conditions, but she could just make out the impala rolling to a stop near the house. Bobby had passed out a couple of hours ago, but she hadn't been able to sleep. She bounded down the stairs and sprinted for the impala, dead set on getting eyes on Tommy. Sam caught her as she neared the car and picked her up to carry her back into the house.

"No. Let me see him. Let me go, Sam," Kim tried to get out of his grasp and get around him, but Sam merely adjusted her and continued towards the house. Why could she not get away from him after she had killed hoards of Shikigami? "Put me down!"

"No. He doesn't need to be toyed with after what Lipretere did to him and that's exactly what will happen if you see him right now," Sam growled as Kim snapped her eyes up to his and she shook her head. None of their friends had ever been this blunt about what it was like for Tommy when Kimberly helped him recover, but she couldn't argue with him. "He tortured him to try to figure out where you were. The Shikigami could track you, but for some reason he couldn't get anywhere near here. So yeah- he doesn't need to be toyed with right now, Kimberly."

"Then I won't toy with him. Please, I need to see that he is okay," Kim pleaded and Sam just shook his head as he deposited her on the couch and then turned to go help Dean bring Tommy in. The man was alive, but they weren't sure how he was still alive at this point. He had been beaten to a pulp by Lipretere and it still hadn't broken him.

Kim watched as Sam and Dean walked Tommy up the stairs, with his entire body dragging in between them. She caught the trail of blood that he was producing and gulped. He had been hurt before, but never like this. What had gone wrong? Why hadn't his powers protected him? She stood and followed behind them, realizing that they had dumped Tommy in the room she had been in a few nights before. She gasped as she finally saw the extent of his injuries.

His shirt was plastered to his chest with blood and his eyes flickered open as she tried to figure out how to help. Dean glanced over his shoulder to see her staring at them before he walked over and escorted her out of the room. She heard Tommy struggling, but he was too weak to follow them and she was too astounded to fight with Dean.

"We need you downstairs, guarding this place. I know the Shikigami stopped when the snow came in, but none of us can take them out and they're going to show back up. They're drawn to the two of you. We got that much out of Lipretere before he disappeared. The snow is only going to temporarily stop them," Dean said as he watched her try to look past him, the sheer panic in her eyes making him want to let her take care of Tommy. He would bet if Tommy had been able to give any input to their plan, he would have fought for her to get to him too. Right now- that was too dangerous with him down for the foreseeable future. "Kim- do you understand what I'm saying?"

"Yeah, I'll go take one of the other couches downstairs. After you get him settled- can one of you come keep watch? I'm going to pass out soon and I need someone that can wake me up. He can't take anymore right now," Kim said as Dean pulled her into a hug and she let herself have a moment to cry against him. She was terrified that Tommy was this hurt, but she didn't know how to say that to him. She didn't know how to tell him that she cared and she only showed it to him after he saved her.

"Go- I'll be down as soon as I can." Kim pulled away from him and he turned back to see Sam had gathered a few supplies to clean Tommy up. They both hated to put this much good alcohol to waste, but there wasn't much of a choice. His entire chest was in ribbons from the torture. Lipretere, in this world, appeared to be a witch and a hell of a powerful one at that. For whatever reason though, he wasn't able to just go after Kim and Tommy. There was something that protected them from normal witch weapons.

"Kim?" Tommy forced out between gritted teeth as they doused him in alcohol and started bandaging his chest. "Where is she? I saw…I need…"

"She's the only one that can take out the Shikigami right now- she's downstairs standing guard. I'm going to head down once you're patched up a bit," Dean provided as Tommy tried to push himself to his feet and head for Kimberly. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where are you going?"

"To her. I know the both of you want to protect me, but that isn't necessary. Those dreams are going to come tonight and I need to be there to stop them from getting bad," Tommy objected as Sam pushed him back onto the bed and he growled at him. He was used to being injured and caring for Kimberly, it was basically the condition he always ended up in.

"You should let him go," Cas said as Dean jumped out of his skin from how close Cas had landed next to him. "I did some asking around about them, there's a lot they didn't mention."

"Like what?" Dean asked as he saw Sam staring at something behind him and he let out a groan as he was given the tightest hug since…Cupid. Cas had brought along a Cupid. "You've got to be kidding me."

"He said he was given orders to shoot them, again," Cas said as the Cupid ran over to Tommy and he moved back from him in shock. "Everyone has that reaction."

"What do you mean 'shoot us again'?" Tommy asked as he felt fear ripple through him. He had been shot plenty of times in his life, but he had never been shot by this man. "No. You don't go near her."

"Huh. That's funny. You still love her. I should see how she feels." Cupid disappeared and Tommy jumped up to try to follow him and immediately crumbled. The pain overwhelmed him, but Cas gently touched his shoulder and he felt the pain increase before it completely faded. He forced himself back to his feet and sprinted towards the stairs. Sam and Dean sprinted after him, but neither of them were able to keep up with him. Tommy saw Cupid draw his bow and shoot Kimberly, before he felt a stabbing pain in his heart. She opened her eyes to see him standing over her and gave him a brilliant smile, like she liked him again.

"No. She gets to walk away from this. She gets to walk away from me. It's the best way I can keep her safe and her hating me for all those years guaranteed that…" Tommy trailed off as Cupid shook his head and then disappeared. "What the hell was that?"

"He was setting you back on the path you were supposed to be on," Cas said as they all saw the fear in Tommy's eyes. He had given up on ever having her as his again and now they were telling him that this being had just fixed that.

"Tommy?" Kim muttered as she forced herself to her feet and she didn't feel the familiar hatred run through her. All she felt was worry and some slight disdain. She moved closer to him and ran her hand down his chest. How was he whole again? "You're…but…how?"

"No idea," Tommy whispered as she threw her arms around him and he let her sink into him. His entire being ached, but having her this close was something he desperately needed. He finally felt his skin loosening and his body relaxing, for the first time since they had separated them. Maybe in this world ignoring your soulmate had repercussions. The most that had happened in their world was a bit too much drinking by the both of them. "You need sleep."

"I'm on Shikigami watch, plus…" Kim trailed off as she looked around to see the other staring at them. It was only then that she realized they were floating off the ground and they both came crashing back down. "What…what was?"

"I got nothing, but it looks like this blizzard is settling in to be a good one. Go rest. It seems like the Shikigami don't like the cold," Bobby said as Cas disappeared and Kim just shook her head. She knew nightmares would come again and she knew she couldn't ask Tommy to stay with her. She had taken Sam's words to heart and she knew he was right. She couldn't keep toying with Tommy's emotions. She couldn't believe that she was even thinking that at the moment. What had she been shot with?

"Who was that guy?" Kim avoided as Tommy shook his head and Sam and Dean looked away. "Who was he?"

"He's a cupid. His job is to put together soulmates," Sam stated as Kim's mouth dropped open and she just shook her head. She hadn't been awake enough to really understand what was going on as Tommy lost it earlier. She now understood it.

"C'mon- you can freak out about that later. Your nightmares will only be worse the longer you hold off on sleep," Tommy said as he offered his hand and she gently took it. He pulled her up the stairs behind him as Sam and Dean shook their heads. If it wasn't for how hard their day had been, they'd all be betting that they were going to go screw each other senseless.

"So what do we do now?" Bobby asked as Dean waited for the door to close and he then started up the stairs. "Seriously? That room shares a wall."

"There's a bed with my name on it and I'm going to take it over the couch any day."
