I stood in front of Rosalie motionlessly. Laurent was here. But who was the other one?

Rosalie kept looking at Edward. He sighed. "Your right. I will stay until you all leave for New York." Rosalie seemed to relax a little.

"Rosalie. What's going on?" She turned and looked at me. She put her hands on my shoulders to comfort me. Ok, what's going on?

"Do you remember Laurent?" I nodded my head. "Well, he decided to come up here to try our diet. Apparently he came just to try it but he decided to stay a little longer." Ok. I knew he would be here, but him being here is making me nervous. He was part of James coven for a long time.

Rosalie squeezed my shoulders to comfort me. "It'll be ok."

I sighed. "What about the other one?" Rosalie became rigged.

"His name is Alex." Wait, Alex? There wasn't an Alex in the books.

"Alex?"

"Yes. He joined the Denali's last year." I'm confused. Why would there be a new character in the story? My presence here has caused some changes, but I never imagined that a new character would be added. Why would that angel lady do this? A thought popped into my head.

"Has he always been a vegetarian?" Both of them got quiet. This can't be good.

Edward sighed. "No. He became a vegetarian about 50 years ago when he left his old coven." Oh. So he used to drink from humans. Him switching diets reminded me a little of Jasper. It must of been hard for him.

"Who was his old coven?" Rosalie's mouth went to a straight line. It was clear to me that she was nervous.

Rosalie looked me square in the eyes. "He was previously in the Volturi." I stilled. Everything in my body froze. There was a new vampire that didn't exist in the books who was previously part of the Volturi.

I'm not going to lie, the Volturi scared the crap out of me. I did not want to meet this guy.

"I'm not going in there."

Edward pulled me into a hug. "It will be ok Sophie. We will just be here for two days. We just want you to be rested before we move across the country. We also felt it would make you feel better to see everyone. Eleazar has been watching over him. He will stay next to him to make sure he doesn't try anything. They were really good friends when Eleazar was in the Volturi." After some time I finally sighed.

"Ok. But don't leave me please."

"Of course." Rosalie took my hand and led me into the lion's den.

As soon as I entered the living room, Kate sped over to me. "I've missed you." I giggle.

"I've missed you too." She pulled away from me and gave me a smile. We both wished we were meeting under a happier note.

"You remember Laurent." I turned to my left to see Laurent leaned up against the wall standing beside Irina.

"Hello Sophie. It's good to see you again." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"It's good to see that I'm alive isn't it. You must be glad that your former friend failed to murder me. Oh and remember what you said the last time you saw me? You bet I'm worth it buddy."

Laurent raised an eyebrow while everyone tried not to laugh. Rosalie was unable to hide her smile. Emmett didn't hold back on his laughter. I was oblivious to the other person in the room until he spoke.

"Well aren't you a firecracker." I turned my head to the very back of the room. There in the back stood a man. A very tall man. He had to be at least 6'3.

He was tall and lean but had some muscle on him. His skin was pale like my families. He had short blond hair that looked disheveled. It was as if he had been running his hands through it. His eyes were golden but I couldn't get the image of him having red eyes out of my head. He was beautiful but dangerous.

Eleazar was standing next to him while Jasper wasn't far from him either. He was keeping his eyes on Alex. He was making sure that Alex wouldn't try to attack me. I appreciated Jasper being protective over me at the moment.

"You must be Sophie. I'm Alexander, but I go by Alex. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Wish I could say the same. I'm not too fond of red coats." He rose a single eyebrow at me.

"Good to know. Thankfully, I no longer am one. So hopefully we can be friends." The way he said friends made a shiver go down my spine.

"We'll see." I didn't say anything else. I just stared at him. He kept his eyes solely on me. His stare was making me uncomfortable. I was keeping my warily eyes on Alex that I failed to notice Alice smiling at our interaction.

Kate took my hand. "Come on. I'll take you to your old room. You can stay there until you leave." I nodded my head. Yes get me away from this man.

"Great! I'll help you bring your suitcase up." I whirled around and stared at Alex. He can't be serious.

"No thank you. I can manage it myself red eyes." Alex narrowed his eyes at me but kept his smirk on his face.

"Very well. I enjoy talking to you later then." With that he turned around and walked outside. He then vanished into the woods.

Eleazar broke the silence by chuckling. "I think that went well." I looked at him silently before turning around and heading to my old room. I needed a hot shower and a long nap.
