Sophie's POV

Whoever said that giving birth was excruciating, wasn't lying. It was one of the worst pains that I have had to endure. But it was worth it. It was worth it because Xander and Ellie came to us. I adored my two children already.

I breathe before opening my eyes. I was confused at first because I should be turning right now. But I wasn't in pain. I wasn't feeling the invisible burning flames that should be engulfing my body.

I blink my eyes shut at the bright light before opening them again. I look around me to access my surroundings before starting to panic. No. This couldn't be possible.

I was in a hospital room. I was surrounded by vases of flowers. I sat up and looked at the white walls. I couldn't be back in my world. The real world. Was that all it took? For me to die in the universe that I fell in love with in order to come back?

How long have I been in a coma? The angel that put me in Twilight said that I was being sent there in order for my body to heal. But she said everything was up to me. Would I be able to go back? Was being in Twilight only a temporary thing?

I sit up and swing my legs over the side of the bed. I take deep breaths before standing up. I wobble on my legs before gaining my balance against the bed. I start to walk and notice that I don't have an IV attached to anything. There are no needles stuck into my skin. Shouldn't I have an IV since I have been in a coma? I don't even hear the beeping of a monitor.

Everything was becoming strange. I walk towards the door and pause as I place my hand on the handle. It was quiet. Too quiet.

I carefully open the door and peek into the hallway. No one was around. I walk out of the room and walk down the hallway. I look around me but no one is here. It was as if I was the only patient in an old hospital.

I try not to panic. I never liked being alone. I start to turn around when a voice stops me.

"It's about time you woke up."

I spin around and notice a woman sitting in a chair. The woman that sits before me has an elegant beauty that surrounds her. Her long golden hair cascades around her form as she is wearing a long white dress. She gives me a small smile before standing up and coming over to me. The woman was tall. She had to be at least 5'11. Which was tall against my 5'6 height. I instantly recognize her as the angel that sent me into the world of Twilight.

"Where am I?" I ask her. Was I really dead?

She smiled at me. "You are currently in between places."

"In between?" What did she mean by that?

The woman takes my hand gently and transports us into a room. I am back in my hospital room but I could now see my body laying on it. I was hooked up to multiple monitors and saw a woman sitting beside me. It was my mom. My real mom.

"How long have I been like this?" I ask her as I keep my eyes on my body. I looked like an empty shell. There were bruises lingering on my neck and face. Purple welts danced down my arms. My face had cuts and bruises all around it. I didn't even look like me.

"Here? You have been like this for about a month." So time was different between the two universes. It's been one month here, while I've been in the Twilight world for 13 years. I've been with the Cullen's for 12 years.

"Did I die?" Was I dead in Twilight? Was I going to die here?

"That is for you to decide." What?

I turn to her. My eyebrows scrunch up in confusion. "What do you mean? How is it up to me?"

"Technically, you did die in the Twilight world. Me sending you to that world triggered a string. As long as you were in a coma in this world, then you would be alive in Twilight. Since you died, you cannot be alive in both worlds anymore. I'm going to give you a choice. You can either stay here and be with your family. You're real family. Or, you can go back to the world of Twilight. To the people that helped raise you and to the people that love you. However, you need to make a decision and you cannot change it. If you choose Twilight, then you will not survive in this world."

I turn and look back at my mother. I take a couple of steps towards her. The bags under her eyes were very prominent. She hasn't seen me alive for a month, while I haven't seen her in 13 years. I almost forgot what she looked like. I hated to see her like this. Part of me wanted to stay here and be with her. To comfort her. But I had another life. In this world, I never fell in love with anyone. I never met a guy who loved me unconditionally.

I had a man who loved me and two children to raise. I couldn't abandon them. This decision wasn't exactly hard but it still made me sad. My mother would have to bury me. I felt remorse that she would have to go through that. But I couldn't leave Alex. I wouldn't leave him.

I turn to her. "Take me back there. Please. I will miss seeing my mother, but I can't leave my family behind. I fell in love with someone who shouldn't exist. I can't leave him. Please send me back there."

The woman smiled. "I'm not really surprised. I was hoping you would say that. Take my hand and I will send you back to them."

I take one last look at my mother and smile sadly. "I'm sorry mom. I love you and will miss you. Have a full life. Goodbye." I whisper to her. I look at her one last time to leave an imprint of her in my mind.

I turn back towards the angel and take her hand that is outstretched. "Goodbye my child."

I look at her before I am engulfed into darkness.

3rd POV

Paul shakes his head and walks backwards towards the door as Alex continues to do CPR on the lifeless girl. "You did this," he says.

Alex looks at his mate in despair. She couldn't be dead. The change should be working. He continues to do CPR and chokes on a sob. He slows down and looks at her lifeless face. He strokes her face gently and bends down and places his head onto her shoulder. "Please. Don't leave me. I can't do this without you," he whispers into her ear.

Paul looks at the scene before him and shakes his head. This monster sentenced poor Sophie to death. She was dead because of him. Killing him would be an act of kindness. Paul decided that he wouldn't kill Alex because he deserved to live with this guilt of losing Sophie.

He's about to leave the room when the two men still at the sound of a whimper.

Paul turns towards the girl just as Alex jolts up and stares down at her. Sophie's eyes were now closed shut and her fingers were trembling. They both watch as Sophie takes a breath and continues to whimper.

Sophie was alive. Almost. She was changing.

Alex expected her to scream, but she didn't. All she did was whimper.

Alex slowly places his hand on Sophie's face. "You're ok?"

Sophie doesn't respond to him. Her eyes are still glued shut. The only way they know that she is alive is from her whimpering and the twitching from her fingertips. The pain was excruciating but Sophie wasn't screaming. All of her screams died after she gave birth.

Paul sighs in relief. He was glad that she wasn't dead. Well, dead dead that is. She was about to be one of them soon.

Paul ralayed Sam's instructions into his mind. He looked at the girl one last time before heading out of the room.

Alex kept his eyes on Sophie. She was the only thing that he was focused on.

"A...Ale...x," she whimpered to him through her teeth.

"Yes? What is it?"

Sophie remembered about Bella's change and needed to reassure everyone. "She's...she's...not...dead," she moans in pain. The burning was excruciating.

"What?" questions Alex.

"She...won't...sc...scream. They...think...she...she's...dead. She's alive...Bella...She's turning," Sophie whimpers again and goes silent. She prys her eyes open and stares at the blond vampire.

Alex quickly grabs the phone and calls Carlisle. He quickly tells Carlisle about the information that was relayed to him by Sophie.

Carlisle and Edward both sounded relieved to know that Bella was ok, but Jacob wasn't there to hear it. He had already left because he thought that Bella was dead.

Paul kept thinking about Sam's plan. He glanced throughout the house, trying to find the two mini demons.

He had to act quick. He heard a faint heartbeat that led him to the living room. Kate and Irina both had their backs to him. They didn't see him. Rosalie was in the corner with the other one. All of them were cooing at the children.

Sam's instructions were clear. Have them give birth and then take the kids out. The pack was on their way now. They were going to put up a distraction to make it easier for Paul to complete his task.

A wolf howled in the distance. He could hear the vampires running outside. He heard Leah and Seth growling at the new arrivals.

This was Paul's window. He had to do it now. He sighed and took a few steps forward. To end the three creatures.

He's almost at Kate, who is holding Ellie, when the baby girl looks over at Paul.

Paul stops abruptly. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would ever imprint. There was a time when he didn't want to imprint. Being tethered to someone wasn't on his bucket list. Seeing his other pack brothers with their imprints started to change his view on the whole concept.

He remembers when he saw Jacob's sister, Rachel, on the beach. She had just moved back to La Push from college. She was nice and he almost wanted to imprint on her. He thought she would be the one that he would imprint on. But she wasn't. He didn't imprint on Rachel.

He had just imprinted. On Sophie's daughter, Ellie.

An invisible string tethered him to Ellie and he swore that he was seeing his future flying before him. Every scene had him with Ellie. He took a step back when Jacob entered the room. Who was very angry.

Bella was dead. He ignored Paul and went straight for Renesmee. Renesmee looked over at Jacob and he stopped as well.

Jacob just imprinted also. On Renesmee.

Rosalie, Kate, and Irina then sensed the commotion that was going on outside. They turned around and saw the two shapeshifters looking dazed.

"Oh, hell no," a voice growled behind them. The two of them turned just in time for Edward to punch Jacob in the face. He quickly pushed Paul away from them as well. "Unbelievable," he growls out.

"What?" Rosalie starts to question.

"I'll explain later. I need to get outside. Now."

The two shapeshifters stay on the ground, dazed. They couldn't believe that this was happening. The reason why Jacob and Paul felt drawn to Bella and Sophie was because of Renesmee and Ellie. They were a part of them all along.

The two heard the growls and snarls of the wolves. They looked at each other and nodded. This had to end. Now.

The rest of the Cullen and Denali clans stood outside. Protecting the house. Seth and Leah stayed on each side to help the Cullen's.

Eleazer, Carmen, and Tanya were outside while Kate and Irina stayed inside with Xander and Ellie.

Edward, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Carlisle, and Esme were outside as well. Alex was inside by Sophie's side while Rosalie took care of Renesmee.

Alice's eyes flickered in every different direction. Even though the Cullen's had the Denali's helping them, they were almost outnumbered. There were more wolves here than they were expecting.

"We're almost outnumbered. This isn't going to be easy," she said nervously.

"I'm not going to let them hurt my family," says Edward.

Sam growls one last time before lunging at Edward. Edward falls backwards as he holds Sam. Emmett is there to push the werewolf off of him. The other wolves start to lunge when Jacob and Paul both jump out of the house.

"Enough!" shouts Jacob. "It's over."

"Stand back Sam," growls Paul. "You can't hurt her."

Rage overcomes Sam. Just hours ago, Paul was standing by his side. Now he was siding with the vampires? Sam barks out a roar and charges at Jacob and Paul.

The two of them jump back and phase mid air. They growl and bark at Sam and stare at him. Paul's allegiance to Sam was starting to waiver. He was turning to Jacob's side because of his imprint.

Paul started to show him his memories just as he was blocked out from him. Edward pauses and breaths in.

"Jacob and Paul imprinted. They can't hurt them. No one can hurt a shapeshifters imprint. It's their most absolute law," he says.

Sam stills and stares at Jacob and Paul in bewilderment. He didn't see this coming from a mile away. The brief glimpse of Paul's memories before they went silent made sense to him.

Sam looks at all of them one last time before sighing. He barks at his pack to back down. They were all heading back to the reservation. The rest of the wolves growled but followed his orders.

They all start walking into the forest. Sam pauses one last time and looks at his four former pack mates. He then turns and leaves.

Everyone stops and turns to Paul and Jacob. Everyone blinks before Emmett smiles at them slowly.

"You two are so dead when Bella and Sophie wake up."

So she is alive after all! Sorry about the cliffhanger in the previous chapter. I couldn't help myself, hehehe. So some of you probably figured out that Paul would imprint if Sophie had a girl. I love Paul and really wanted him around in my story more. Trying to finish up the next chapter which will hopefully be out soon.
