Mist covered the area as two trainers faced each other while another is in the middle, watching the battle with worry.
'So what's the occasion?' Meowth said in a bored tone. Looking around, her eyes widened when they landed on Red, her pupils turning into slits when seeing his injured state. Continuing to observe the place, she noticed Luxio breathing heavily while Leaf tended to his wounds. The cream cat then turned to her opponents, purring angrily until she heard Red's answer. "We're knocking him down a peg."
Meowth looked at him, her hairs standing after noticing the intimidating glow from her trainer's eyes. Sighing, she then turned to Red while Blue sends out his Pokemon, a black and white bear appearing on the field. "Meowth…he wouldn't go down without a fight, damn it. I should've been stricter…stronger…Luxio wouldn't be like this…I-I wouldn't be…"
'Hey.' She jumped to Red's shoulder, patting him on the head which knocked him out of his mental breakdown. He looked at her, the feline rubbing her cheeks with his before she spoke again. 'I don't know what happened but…I can tell you're going through a lot right now…but understand one thing: we wouldn't be with you if you were a trainer like Pineco over there. We're here because you are you. A quiet, weird geek who gawks at us in the wild while drawing and cares about our feelings. I mean seriously, you're one of the few trainers I know who literally asks if we want to fight.'
Leaf smiled as Red calmed down, the glow in his eyes went back to normal before turning to Meowth. 'She saw it too, didn't she?'
Meowth looked towards her opponents with a melancholic expression before giving a thumbs up while using her tail to wipe the tears swelling on Red's face. 'Just chill out, I got this. Fight like how you usually do and keep being weird. Oh! And stop beating yourself up. We all make mistakes, Red. Just learn from them and be yourself.'
Red nods, thanking her with a smile on his face. They then hear Blue's Pokemon roar, the crimson eyed trainer taking out his Pokedex and scanning it. "Pangoro, the Daunting Pokemon and the evolution of Pancham. It charges ahead and bashes its opponents like a berserker, uncaring about any hits it might take. Its arms are mighty enough to snap a telephone pole."
Pangoro looked at Meowth before it bowed, surprising it and its trainer. 'Greetings, I hope that we have a wonderful fight today.'
'Huh? I was expecting trash talk to be honest.' The Normal type admitted in surprise, Red nodded in agreement. The panda looked at her with a raised brow before he exhaled in exasperation. 'I understand how you feel but not all of us share the same goals as their trainers.'
Both combatants continued with their conversation, the raven haired trainer chuckled at their antics before he heard Blue voiced the first move. "Rock Tomb."
Punching the ground, Pangoro created a shockwave that caused rocks to protrude from the ground. Upon Red's instructions, Meowth used the stones to jump higher, allowing it to dodge its opponent's next attack by slamming her claws upon the panda's outstretched arm before flipping over and landing a Slash on its back. The Normal type continued its assault on the Daunting Pokemon with a combination of Slash and Feint Attack until Pangoro was able to catch the speedy feline, Blue snickering before voicing his command. "Vital Throw!"
Listening to his instructions, Pangoro spun Meowth around then slams Meowth onto the ground, the impact shaking the room. Red called for his Pokemon, awarded with no response which made his opponent laugh at the scene.
"See what I'm talking about, Red?! You don't have a single strong 'mon on your team. This is beyond pathetic." Blue said, taking great delight of the situation while his foe kept quiet. After a while, a popping sound caught their attention which made them turn towards the crater, the young Oak looking in disbelief. "That's…no way…"
Out of it came Meowth who cracked her neck while stretching, surprising everyone by the fact that she seemed mostly unharmed which even made Leaf and Buneary surprised. 'I need what she's on.'
"What the?" Blue said in shock when he saw the Normal type brushed herself off before eyeing her opponent. "B-but Meowth are known for their weak defenses…and Pangoro is a heavy hitter, it should be barely hanging by the skin of its teeth if not knocked out."
Red was surprised as well but mostly relieved until he looked forward, noticing the smile on Pangoro's face. Meowth then walked out of the crater, making one last stretch.
'That…was a good warm up.' She then gets into a battle stance, her smile widening as she eyed her opponent. 'Let's try this again.'
'Oh! I'm going to enjoy this battle. Show me your true strength, Meowth!' Pangoro roars in excitement before it lunged forward to his opponent, the white feline doing the same.
Using Rock Tomb to catch its opponent off guard, Pangoro went on the offensive, trying to grab Meowth for another Vital Throw which was unsuccessful when its opponent dodges then jumps unto its head, grinning while Blue gets angered by its antics. Shouting commands, he could only watch as the Normal type sprints around his Pokemon's body before landing a Slash on its abdomen and a Feint Attack to mess with its eyes which blinded the large panda before landing on the floor.
"Dual Chop!" Blue loudly commanded only to fail when his opponent easily evaded the attack, making the Fighting type hit the ground which made it stuck before the Scratchcat Pokemon hopped on its face, unleashing a flurry of Slash before retreating. While the black bear tries to move its arm from the ground, Meowth sprinted around the field before turning to its trainer.
'Red! Let's try that new move.' Meowth said excitedly, jumping up and down like a child waiting for their birthday gift.
Red let out a chuckle before nodding, his Pokemon dashing quickly with a burst of speed. Freeing itself, Pangoro was about to attack the Normal type until its foe disappeared, confusing Blue and his Pokemon while Red smirked. In an instant, the Fighting type felt a strike to the gut, knocking it into the air which made everyone see the cat surrounded with a clear aura.
"What the?" Blue muttered.
"Hell?" Leaf finished while Buneary glared at the feline with a pout. 'Wait! That's what her training was…'
"Aerial Ace again." Red silently ordered, the cat jumped into the air before smacking the panda across its face with its tail, making it descend to the floor in a spinning motion. Thinking quickly, Blue made Pangoro use Dual Chop to stopping it from hitting the ground before going for Rock Tomb, sending boulders towards Meowth who flexibly dodged them. When it finished evading, it was caught by surprise when its opponent came close and used another Dual Chop but thanks to Red's quick instructions, it was able to quickly counter with Slash, the feline's display of strength being a shock to Blue.
'He's supposed to be weak! There should be no way that a Meowth should be able to match the strength of a Pangoro, even with items and buffs.' He thought while watching it clash with Pangoro's attacks, the big panda smiling along with the cat as they collided claws with each other until his Pokemon lost the brawl, suffering a Slash from the feline.
'Speed I can understand but this is ridiculous.' He watches Meowth dodge a Vital Throw then speedily attacking all around the Fighting type with Aerial Ace until Pangoro shakes off the Pokemon with Bulk Up. Without losing momentum, the Normal type used Taunt to stop the black bear from boosting its strength before it spins, landing a flurry of scratches before reaching the ground. Seeing it in midair, Pangoro was ready to strike only to be shocked when the cat becomes a blur, running around and creating mirages of itself before landing a direct hit to the Dark type's face.
'How is he able to still handle his own against me? I used Bulk Up. One attack and it should be all over.' Taking a Vital Throw that made it hit the wall, Meowth ricocheted and struck Pangoro's feet, knocking the Daunting Pokemon off balance before tackling his face with Aerial Ace. Sending the panda to the floor, it continued its assault with letting out a flurry of Slash, Pangoro only able to defend itself despite Blue shouts to use an attack. This resumed until Red told it to stop, seeing Pangoro fainted on the floor, a look of devastation showing from the young Oak's face.
"H-how?" Blue grits his teeth, in total disbelief at what happened in front of him. He could only look at his defeated Pokemon, his vision getting blurry when he turned to look at Red as the boy congratulated Meowth then telling it to rest, the scene angering him. "A fucking bleeding heart like him? Why put so much trust in your Pokemon when you can have the very best…"
'This is so fucking like him. Always willing to use any Pokemon. No matter how weak they are. Wasting his damn time on these weaklings that cost him more losses than wins.' Blue glared at the red capped boy, disgusted by the kind hearted nature that he has. How he always regarded his Pokemon's feelings over his own. Treating them like equals. Even giving them a choice on if they want to be captured.
This was always how Red is. A boy who prioritizes his Pokemon feelings over how powerful they are. It made Blue sick to his core.
'How you hanging there, Lux?' Meowth said worriedly to Luxio as he was being treated by Leaf and Roselia. The blue lynx looked at the feline with a look of confusion, not used to hearing her so worried before he chuckled and answer. 'Yeah…it's gonna take more than this to take me down.'
While he was looking at his Pokemon with a somber expression, Red sensed an ominous presence which made him look around which did not go unnoticed by Leaf. "Red, what's wrong?"
Red could not answer as he looked towards Blue, his eyes widened at the teen's scowl and hateful glare towards him. However, what caught him by surprise the most was not Blue but what he saw behind him. Behind the spiky haired teen was black strings that looked to be connected to his head and body, making Blue look like a marionette as a dark aura radiated off him.
Turning to Leaf, he gave her a shaky smile before answering. "Yeah…I'm ok."
"You're not ok. You look nervous." She said with her arms crossed while the rest look at him. Red thought for a while before he points at Blue. "Can you see anything behind Blue right now?"
Leaf looked at him in confusion before she looked at the spiky haired youth, she and his Pokemon lifting a brow except for Luxio who seems to be squinting hard.
"Nooo. Are you seeing things now? Are feeling alright?" Leaf then turned back to him, feeling his forehead with a concerned look. Red rubbed his eyes before looking back at Blue, still seeing the strings around him before seeing two pink eyes which spooked him.
'What the? What's that? Why did I not see it before?' He thought before looking down, surprised to see those black strings connected to his chest. 'What the?'
About to take out his Pokedex, he saw the eyes glowing before Blue stayed quiet as he returned Pangoro and then released Scyther on the field which got Red's attention as it sped towards him. The raven haired teen was barely able to push Leaf out of the way and dodge it, part of its blades grazing his leg before he spun around and kick the mantis, sending it back to Blue's side of the field.
Quickly thinking about his options, he then readied his Pokeball only for Vulpix to come out from its capsule on his belt, ready to fight, much to his dismay. "Vulpix?!"
'I wanna bwattle this time.' The fox said to him excitedly. Red was about to say no but one look into her sparkling eyes made him reluctantly agreed, much to her glee.
"Another fucking shiny?! So what's your excuse? Them having different colors make them stronger?!" Blue mocked, making Red look at him with a serious expression while Vulpix started glowing which made the room hotter than usual. Both trainers get ready, Blue voicing the first move. "Slash now!"
In an instant, Scyther disappeared before reappearing in front of Vulpix, the attack being evaded by rolling over. The Bug type immediately went for another which collided into its opponent, sending it back a few feet. Continuing its assault, it flew forward and raised its blades until Red made his move. "Flame Burst."
Seeing the attack quickly charge in front of his eyes, Blue smiled when his Scyther dodged the attack only to realize several purple balls of fire coming towards it. "What the? Will O'Wisp?!"
Thinking quickly, he made it use Aerial Ace to get out of the way. To his surprise, he saw his Pokemon stop, a pained look on its face until he saw Vulpix who had an ominous glow before its mouth lit aflame, sparks coming from it. The Fire type then shot a Flame Burst, Scyther able to move out of the way of the attack at the last minute, making Blue click his tongue. 'Shit! Keep forgetting I'm fighting Red here. Normal rules hardly apply to him. Can't afford to get hit.'
"Agility!" Scyther nodded, stretching its body before it started moving, Red only seeing doubles as it moves between spots before going forward as Blue states his next move. "Aerial Ace."
At that moment, it vanished which the raven haired youth predicted before making Vulpix use Confuse Ray but it failed, the results being the fox getting knocked back.
"I didn't even see it move." Red muttered in shock, seeing the Fire type trying to shooting rays and fireballs at Scyther but was rewarded with failure as it got attacked each time. Seeing that he was unable to match his opponent's speed, the red capped youth tried brainstorming for a plan. 'Its speed is tremendous. Hitting it is gonna be up to luck at this point.'
He watched as his Pokemon was attacked again, clicking his teeth in frustration while he saw the huge smirk on his opponent's face, the strings along his body getting bigger. 'That ain't good. The strings are getting bigger and the pressure is getting stronger. I need to end this quickly. I just need an opening. And Vulpix isn't gonna hold out until Scyther tires out. Too bad Vulpix can't learn Harden. It could act as armor while-'
Red paused before an idea popped into his head, a smirk on his face which was noticed by Leaf and his Pokemon. He waited for the right moment, a moment he deduced for the green mantis to attack, he made his counterattack. "Vulpix! Use Flame Burst!"
Blue laughs while seeing the Pokemon preparing the move. "C'mon, Red! You should know that you won't be able to hit my Scy-"
"On yourself."
Everyone was surprised when Vulpix immediately burst into flames and surrounded itself with fire. Scyther could not stop itself as it fell prey to the move, letting out a yelp as it got burnt. Blue could not voice his next attack when Red quickly took the opportunity, hitting the Bug type with Will O'Wisp and Hex until his opponent was barely able to escape.
"Lucky shot but you won't get it again." Blue whispered angrily, the strings around him getting bigger as he commands his Pokemon to use Aerial Ace and Fury Cutter, the move combination scaring Red. "Vulpix, use Confuse Ray around yourself."
Scyther immediately disappears, Vulpix using Confuse Ray around itself which ends up failing when the green mantis maneuvers around the room, dodging the glowing orbs before smacking the golden fox. The confrontation continued, Red being very worried about his Pokemon until Vulpix's eyes started glowing wildly which made Scyther cautiously sidestep in fear of an attack however nothing happened. The Bug type then swerved and jumped around the room, utilizing the gravestones as footings before dashing it from behind, much to Blue's glee. 'Yes, I obviously got the advantage thanks to Agility. In no time, he will-'
Vulpix turned and looked at Scyther, surprising the Pokemon before it nimbly dodged its attack, much to everyone's shock.
"What?!" Blue said in horror then commanded his Pokemon to attack from the side, smiling when he saw Red ordering the Fire type to shoot that way, a mirage in its place before it appeared behind the fox but it failed when he witnessed the fox evading the move again. Spitting out orders, he could only watch dumbly as the Fire type dodges all of them. "What the hell is going on? It's almost as if it could-"
"-see where Scyther is about to attack." Leaf finished, her eyes watching Vulpix while it evaded Scyther's attacks until the Bug type spun around and reared to strike. Before it could, the Fire type glared at it which caused the Pokemon to freeze in midair. Taking this opportunity, Red quickly made his command. "Flame Burst now! Full power!"
Hearing the command, flames erupted from Vulpix's breath that hit Scyther which created a shockwave, making fire dance around the battlefield. Once dispersed, Blue was shocked upon seeing his Pokemon unconscious. 'I can't believe it…'
Vulpix ran up to her trainer, jumping on his shoulder and cuddling with him as he laughed. 'I can't actually believe it. I understand that it had the type advantage but still…'
"Ok, Red...this is where you fall." Blue muttered which caught his opponent's attention.
'He's scawy with those black thingies.' Vulpix said before jumping into Red's jacket. He was about to comfort her by giving her a berry until he realized what she said. "Wait! You're able to see those black strings, right?"
She got out of the bag and nodded silently, pointing to the direction of the black tendrils when her eyes glowed, much to Red's glee. "That's right. You have Extrasensory which boosts your senses."
He then made a smile as he noticed Blue gripping his last Pokeball, releasing Charmeleon onto the field who glared at Red. Waiting and seeing the tendrils glowing, Red smirked as Blue made his starter use Flame Burst which collided with Vulpix's attack, her trainer making her use Will O'Wisp within it as both attack exploded, some of the embers falling around which made everyone shield themselves from them. Red smiled as some of the fire hit one of the tendrils, causing them to get smaller and Blue to hold his head in pain, much to his Charmeleon and Leaf's confusion.
'Alright, so that can cause an effect on the tendrils…which means…' Red observed, taking the time to brainstorm his options, happy to finally get some freedom to choose and not attacked by Blue.
'DIE!'
Hearing the distorted voice, the hair on Red's skin went up until he felt pain on his chest and head which caused him to descend to the ground. This surprised everyone including Blue who could not move as a huge black ball came out of his shadow then travelled towards Red at a blistering speed, the strength of the attack being unaffected by any of Vulpix's attacks. 'Damn, I need to-'
He could not finish his sentence or get any of his other Pokemon when the sphere was in front of him, Leaf trying to save him but was too late as well before she scream in horror. "RED!"
Everyone could only watch as the ball collided into him but he was saved last minute when a huge veil of water surrounded him which surprised him. Opening his eyes, Red saw Milotic in front of him who was glowing while Vulpix used Extrasensory and Flame Burst to burn the tendrils connected to his chest. Turning to her trainer, the Water type's expression slightly changing into that of worry upon seeing his wounded and twitching state before she glared at him 'Red…what happened?'
Not wanting to anger her more than she already is, he quickly thought of an excuse. "I got into a bit of a fall down the-"
'Pineco over there decided to go on demon time and play with his body like a practice dummy.' Meowth interrupted him, he was about to interject but went into silence when both her and Leaf gave him a glare. He sighed while turning to Milotic, seeing the flames in her eyes before she starts glowing, water rings forming around the teen and healing some of his wounds.
Blue scoffed at both of them, Red noticing the tendrils slowly getting weaker as he crossed his arms and looked a bit less angry. "Don't feel special because this Milotic lucked out against Zane's Lucario!"
Something snapped in the cream serpent, Red immediately noticed before he slowly backs away only to be grabbed by Milotic's tail. 'Red. I think my ears aren't working right. What did he say?'
He was about to calm the Water type down until Blue continued. "I'll take it down with Charmeleon to show you how worthless it is."
Red looked at Blue and sent him a warning glare but the damage was already done when water starts surrounding Milotic as she gently puts him down before speaking to him in a soft voice that made the hairs on his neck stand up. 'You know what to do. Let out every crazy plan in that brain of yours.'
"Umm…alright?" Red let out a nervous sigh before he made eye contact with his opponents. 'Well, at least it seems to be getting weaker. Just one little opportunity and I can get him out of those.'
After waiting for a few seconds, they both voiced their first move.
"Power-Up Punch now!"
"Dragon Tail!"
Charmeleon rushed forward with glowing arms while Milotic stayed in one place upon Red instructions. The orange lizard reared back its right hand which did not go unnoticed by the raven haired teen as he voiced his counter. "Attack your right."
Upon his instructions, the Water type easily block the orange lizard's punch, the Fire type went for a left which was also expertly countered. This held on for a while, Red making sure that Blue is unable to get a good hit, much to the spiky haired teen's frustration. "Damn it! Why don't you try and attack me instead of blocking? Afraid your attacks won't do anything?"
Milotic got angered until Red rebutted. "Why don't you try to hit me and stop missing? Afraid your attacks won't do anything?"
Leaf looked at Red with the most bewildered face that he has ever seen on her face before he saw everyone looking at him with equally astonished expressions. "What?"
"Red, are you ok?" She said, walking up to him and putting a hand on his forehead, further confusing him. Milotic also looked at him in concern. "Is it really that odd that I made a comeback?"
"Yes." Everyone answered honestly, the teen letting out an exasperated sigh while putting his hand on his face until he made his command. "Milotic…Water Pulse, bullet style please."
The serpent then started glowing before shooting out pellets, Charmeleon dodging the projectiles while getting closer. Once it was close enough, it then release a Flame Burst but the move was easily stopped by a shield of water. Blue then changed his plan of attack by letting the orange lizard punch the ground, using the rocks and throwing them towards its serpentine opponent which also failed when the Water type use Dragon Tail to break and smack away the huge stones.
'Damn it! That Milotic is a headache.' The young Oak thought, watching Charmeleon colliding with Milotic's attacks before getting knocked back. Keeping an eye on its opponent, the Fire starter lunges forward again, its Flame Burst clashing with the serpent's Dragon Breath until Blue noticed some water going around the field which gave him an idea. "Use Flame Burst on the water around the field."
The Fire starter then release various fireballs around the field, Red smiling as the fog spread throughout the field. Blue took opportunity of the situation, shouting a slew of commands which made him smirk as he heard the impact that the moves make, Leaf looking in worry as she heard the sounds. "I don't like this. Is Milotic going to-"
She then noticed something forming in the smog, various debris being picked up until the smoke disperses as Blue's eyes widened upon witnessing what is happening. "What. On. Earth?"
Before him was a huge water vortex with debris within it that started getting bigger as time passes by. He could only watch in horror as the attack become more intense as Red added Dragon Breath within the tornado.
"Sorry, Blue but this is for your own good." The raven haired trainer muttered before he pointed at Blue, Milotic then directing the twister towards their opponents. Leaf stepped back as the move went wild before the serpent released, Wartortle using Protect to shield her from any collateral damage. 'What is he doing?'
As the attack came towards, Blue commanded his Charmeleon to uses Flame Burst, the attack colliding with the twister but failed as it still travelled towards them. He tried everything he could think of, stepping back as he realized that it would be dangerous if he stayed. 'Is he trying to kill me?
Charmeleon tried a last ditch effort to the move, only rewarded with failure when the force of the attack knocked it out of the way before going towards its trainer. The young Oak had no other choice but to jump out of the way, Red watching in glee as a voice shrieked in pain from the attack before he turned to Vulpix. "Finish it with Hex."
The fox used the move which made everyone hear an intense howl in the room as the tendrils around Blue's body disappeared. In the center of the field, a huge shadow started surging before two hands came out of it, turning into black tendrils that lunged towards Leaf and Red.
"Leaf, quick! Make Wartortle use Protect!" Red said, making Milotic drag Blue and Charmeleon using Water Pulse. Leaf nodded, making Wartortle use Protect which covered them, resulting in the strings lashing wildly against the shield.
'I will kill you! I will kill you! I WILL TAKE YOUR SOUL!' Red could hear the murmurs getting louder as he brainstormed about what to do. Leaf, on the other hand, was terrified of the shrieks, her heart beating wildly as she saw the tendrils trying to pry open the veil. "R-R-Red, any idea would be good right now…"
The raven haired teen searched his bag before throwing a Potion over to Blue who took it, looking at him in confusion. "Use that on Charmeleon. I have a plan and I'm going to need its help if we want to get out of here."
Blue glared at him in anger. "And why should I listen to you? Don't forget that you were a-"
his sentence was cut off when he received a punch to the face from Red before the raven haired youth lifted him by the shirt before giving him a glare that made young Oak quiver in fear. "Trust me, I don't need you or anyone to tell me for the umpteenth time of what you think of me but right now, we're in a predicament and if I could do it without your help, I would. I don't care what you think of me but right now, lives are on the line. I don't wanna see Leaf or any of my Pokemon hurt because of your bullshit. So shut up, put that damn Hyper Potion on your Charmeleon and let's knock that thing out. After that, I'll be out of your hair. Forever."
Blue could only nod begrudgingly before he was let go, Red putting a few Spell Tags in his pockets then explaining his plan to them. "These Spell tags can disrupt any Ghost Pokemon's energy. We need to plant it on its head and it will do its work."
Leaf then decided to ask a question that she had on her mind. "Y-you said Pokemon, right? W-w-what kind of Pokemon is that?"
"Judging by the eyes, my guess is Banette. They like to feed off negative energy and some will turn humans into puppets using that method." Red explained, taking off his bag before he starts again. "Leaf, I'm going to need you to make Buneary use Foresight to guide everyone's attacks to Banette. We're going to need to force his real body out of the ground."
The brunette nodded as Buneary hopped off her shoulders with its eyes glowing, making a salute. Red then turned to Blue with a hardened expression. "Blue. I'm going to need you to follow Buneary's lead. We're going to take advantage of that with your Charmeleon."
When Red finished, some of the tendrils started to disappear as flames burst from the two hands within the shadow. "What the?"
"Yeah, it's burnt and this makes those strings weaker to Fire type moves and that's where you come in. Just go wild and burn those things." Red then tapped Wartortle, asking for him to let down the veil for a bit, much to everyone's surprise before Leaf commented. "Wait! You're going out there?! But you're hurt! Don't you think it's better that I do it?!"
"We don't have a choice, Leaf." He looked at her with a hardened expression before putting Vulpix on his shoulder. She looked at him worried before he turned to her with a smile on his face, holding her hand. "I'll be alright. Just trust me."
"Alright, lovebirds! Can we get this over with?" Blue said annoyed as everyone gave him a glare except for Red who got ready before he made Wartortle lower the veil, one of the tendrils about to go through but it was stopped with Flame Burst.
After the smoke cleared, Red dashed forward with flames around him thanks to Will O'Wisp and Extrasensory, making his way towards the shadow. The tendrils then came to life before flying towards the teen, him dodging the strings, the fire balls around him acting as defense against them along with the help of Leaf and Blue. Reaching close, Red made a gesture to Vulpix to which it nodded, using Hex on the shadow which resulted in a huge shriek that echoed through the room, making everyone unnerved by the sound. Seeing the shadow burst from the ground, showing a gray doll-like body that had a zipper for a mouth. Glaring at the boy, it shot multiple Shadow Ball at Red, some of them being stopped by Charmeleon's Flame Burst and Milotic's Water Pulse. 'I will kill you!'
"Vulpix, use Flame Burst on the ground." He said, the fox aiming at the floor which gave him a boost before he slammed the Spell Tag on its forehead, everyone letting out a sigh of relief. Red was about to jump down until he felt a pain around his arm, seeing a tendril coming out of Banette's mouth that is gripping tightly on his arm, making him yelp in pain. 'DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!'
"What the? I thought this would work." Red said before a string wrapped around his neck, choking him before he sees a huge Shadow Ball in the doll's mouth before he quickly made a thought. "Vulpix, Hex!"
Banette was hit by the move, making it get wounded by its own Shadow Ball which made it lose its hold on the teenager, making him fall on the ground. Taking the chance to run away, Red barely noticed the paper on Banette's forehead dimly glowing as Vulpix used Hex.
"I guess we gotta do it the old fashioned way." Blue said as he dashed forward, Leaf following as Banette attacked them using the tendrils, both of them able to repel the strings before Blue was able to get a direct hit on Banette. Despite the three of them fighting against the Ghost type, it still overpowered them until it started shooting its strings towards them, Red able to dodge them but it caught Leaf and Blue.
"Vulpix, Hex on the Spell Tag now." Vulpix then used the move which focused on the paper, Banette immediately getting electrocuted as the Spell Tag started glowing. Once this happened, he turned to Leaf and Blue, motioning them to use their strongest attacks. "Now while it's down!"
"Charmeleon, Flame Burst now!"
"Wartortle, Aqua Tail!"
Red was about to command Vulpix until Luxio sprang in front of him before running towards the Ghost type and hitting it with a Thunder Fang, the combination of the moves colliding into the doll which sent it flying into the wall.
After that, they all celebrated their victory, Leaf hugging her Pokemon while Blue simply smirked and fold his arms. While they were doing this, Red walked to Luxio, seeing it panting before he pets it while his other Pokemon hug him. "I'm sorry, you guys. And thank you."
'It's no problem, Red.' The Electric lynx said with a smile.
'Like I said, keep being yourself. Because only you could do this.'
Everyone else agreed before he collapsed to the ground in exhaustion. He then sensed a malicious presence before it went away, turning to Banette to see it unconscious, much to his confusion. "Hmm, that's odd."
This caught Vulpix's attention when it rubbed his cheeks. 'You ok, Red?'
"Y-yeah…" He said before letting out a sigh, nobody noticing his shadow moving slightly before staying still, a red eye showing in the middle. Leaf and Blue then walked up to the raven haired teenager, the girl taking a seat beside him and leaning on him while the spiky haired youth looked at the duo.
Red turned to Blue before giving him an exhausted smile. "Blue, I know it does not mean much but thank you. Thanks for your help."
The young Oak was surprised to hear this before the crimson eyed trainer continued. "Blue, I understand how important battling is for you and for you to be the best however…"
"Yeah, yeah. Everything's a disaster anyway." Blue waved his hand absentmindedly, opening his eyes to see Red offering him various Revives and Potions. "Use those to heal your Pokemon."
"Keep them! You're gonna need them more than me if you're going to use your Pokemon the way you do." Blue said before putting his hands in his pockets, looking at the boy with a somber expression which Red noticed. Leaf was about to give him a piece of her mind until she felt Red's head fall unto her lap, him being asleep. Seeing this happen, Leaf squinted her eyes at the spiky haired teen which unnerved him before whispering. "We'll continue this next time."
Blue wanted to apologize, angry with himself with the difficulty he had with saying the three words. While he was struggling, his eyes landed on something that made his eyes widened in disbelief before he turned around and walked away then stopped. "Leaf."
The brunette looked at him with an angered glare. He then looked to the ground before he took a sigh and looked at her. "Red's an idiot that's too kind for his own good. He's gonna need someone to look out for him."
Leaf was about to ask a question before Blue left, his thoughts could only focus on the item he saw on Red's belt. Something he never expected to see. Blue looked to the floor as memories came to his mind, remembering something that he left at home on his dresser that he didn't even bother taking with him.
A half of a Pokeball.
"But why?"
"It's to show that no matter what…" Red started, putting his capsule and Blue's together which made a perfect Pokeball. "…and no matter how much fights and how far apart we are…"
"We'll always be best friends! Heh. That's a no brainer, Red." Blue finished, pushing his chest while Red smiling at him before they wrapped an arm around each other, Professor Oak smiling at the two young children as they laughed and played in the forest.
Done and done. Battle of Emotions is finished. I don't have much to say than hope you enjoy the Lavender chapters from here. So much things changed in this chapter than I expected so I hope you like it. I had to put up the chapter because of the hiatus I had. Apart from this, I'm happy with how the chapter went and hope y'all do too. Let me know your thoughts on the chapters so far andhanks for the likes and favorites and please take care. Enigma out!
