Welcome back; I have a new Chapter for you!
TimeTraveller-1900: Glad you like it; Hiccup will not meet his mother since she died on Berk and didn't get carried away by Cloudjumper. I could have explained it better in the Prologue, but it didn't cross my mind at that moment, so, sorry about that.
Chapter 7
(Berk, the next morning)
Stoick returned last night from the meeting at around 11 p.m., so he didn't bother to check if Hiccup was in bed. 'After tomorrow, he won't be my problem anyway.' he thought. After Stoick woke up, he put on his clothes and left the house to tell the village that there would be a meeting at noon and everyone must attend. After he's done that, he goes off to search for Gobber.
The chief walks into the forge, hearing clanging against metal, so he knows that Gobber is probably in there. He sees the blacksmith hammering on an axe and taps him on the shoulder to get his attention. Turning around, Gobber saw Stoick standing there, so he put down the axe and motioned for him to continue. "Gobber, I need you to tell Hiccup that he must attend the meeting at noon. Make sure he gets there on time." the red-haired man says. Gobber fights the urge to yell at the chief for doing that to his son but keeps calm since he knows that Hiccup is already gone, "If I see him, I'll tell him that. But I can tell you that it could be possible that I won't find him. The last day he never really was in the village."
Stoick looks at the blacksmith to make sure he's telling the truth. Seeing that he is, he answers, "Very well, if you can't find him, we will send out search parties for him and bring him here. After that, we will give him 10 minutes to pack his things and send him off." Not waiting for an answer, he turns around and leaves.
The five teens were meeting at the kill ring since Sontlout said he had some important news. The twins arrive last, and with everyone present now, Snotlout spoke up, "You won't believe it! My dad came home last night from a council meeting and told me they discussed the problem with Hiccup! And the best thing is, they all decided to banish him! TODAY!" he exclaims happily. The others looked shocked, but soon, a smile overcame them. "So you're telling us this little runt won't be a problem anymore?" Astrid asks with hope evident in her voice. Since the one round where Hiccup won against the Zippleback, she hated him more than ever. "Yes, that's exactly what I'm telling you about. Also, everyone has to come, so we can see his whole world shatter before him." the black-haired boy said. After this short conversation, they all started training since dragon training would continue.
(Noon)
When noon arrived, every tribe member entered the hall, wondering what this meeting was about. When the last one arrived, the doors were closed, and everyone took a seat. Stoick stood before the gathered people waiting for Gobber to show up with his son. When the smith came without his son, he knew something was wrong. "Gobber, where's Hiccup?" he asked Gobber. "Haven't seen him since the docks yesterday." the blacksmith answered, not mentioning their last encounter in the forge since he knew what would happen if he told them.
Sighing, the chief looked at his people, "Alright, everybody, before this meeting starts, we need to find my son. Build teams of 5, search the entire island, and leave no stone turned around. Let's move it, people!" Without missing a heartbeat, the tribe left to search the island; even the teens were looking. They looked so he could get banished, not because they worried about him.
(The forest near the cove)
The teens had been looking for 2 hours since leaving the hall, yet they found nothing. That was until they found a deep trench going downhill. What shocked them most was the split tree beside it. Looking at each other, they nodded and followed the trail. What they found were some cut bolas and footprints. "The footprints must belong to Hiccup; no one else has such small feet. But why would he cut bolas into pieces and in the middle of the forest too?" Fishlegs mentioned. Tuffnut spots something further away from the bolas and picks it up. "Hey, what is that?" he asks the others showing him the object he found. It was a pure black scale. "That's a dragon scale! But if that is here, then Hiccup was here with the dragon." Astrid told them. "If he got eaten, I say good riddance. He wouldn't have survived out there the first night." Snotlout said, not even trying to hide his excitement that his cousin was dead, in their opinion. Looking around, Astrid found more scales leaving a trail away from their position, "Let's follow those scales, maybe we will find that dragon, and when we kill it, we won't have to finish training." Agreeing with her, they followed the black scales.
After they followed the trail for 5 minutes, they found a crack between two rocks. Going in, they discovered a cove, the cove where Hiccup and Toothless were hours before they arrived. Climbing down the walls, they looked around, trying to find the dragon. Ruffnut was the first to find something, "Hey guys, look over here!"
They gathered around her at the edge of the pond. Bending over, she picked something up; looking closer, they saw it was a dagger. They handed the weapon to Fishlegs to examine, and what he found shocked them. It was Hiccup's dagger. "Why would the dragon kill him and bring his weapon here?" Fishlegs asks them. They all thought about it, but no one concluded anything. Deciding to search for more hints, they dispersed again.
After they searched most of the cove, only one place was untouched—the cave. Astrid goes in first. Holding a torch in one hand and her axe in the other, she looked around. When she searched most of the cave, she spotted something at the back wall of it. Walking closer to get a better look, she can make out words written on the wall in blood. Gasping, she read what was written, 'You all drove me over the edge. I will be back to get revenge. Hope that something else will kill you before I do. HHHIII.'
She ran out of the cave and told the others what she had found. At first, no one believed her, saying that Hiccup wouldn't have the guts to cut himself for a message, but that changed after they went together inside and found the exact words she read. Deciding it would be best to get the chief, they returned to the village.
(The village plaza)
Stoick listened to every group that returned and told him the same thing; no one found Hiccup. That is until he saw the recruits come back with a terrified look on their face. He immediately got worried that something happened to them, even though none seemed injured.
When he reached the teens, he asked, "What happened? Did you find anything? Did you find Hiccup?" Astrid was the first to look at the chief, and with a low whisper, she said, "We found something—a cove in the forest. We decided to investigate and walked in. At first, we didn't find anything, but Ruffnut saw a dagger in a small pond. After we looked closer, we noticed that it was Hiccup's. After looking around some more, I went into a small cave, and what I found, I couldn't believe at first. It was a message written in blood. The most shocking thing was that at the end of the message, there were Hiccup's initials." The more Stoick listened to the story, the paler he got. Looking around, he noticed that a crowd had formed around them. "Everyone! Gather your weapons! You five, lead the way." he barked. 'That boy! Why does everything involving him have to be so complicated!'
Stoick was the first to see the message when they reached the cove. He told Gobber to look at the writing and to see if Hiccup wrote this. Unfortunately, Gobber confirmed it was Hiccup's handwriting. After that, the chief told everyone to gather in the hall again. When everyone gathered around, he said, "As all of you know, we found a message from Hiccup. According to that message, he swears revenge for, as he said, pushing him over the edge. And from today on, I, Stoick the Vast, Chief of the Hooligan Tribe on Berk, declare that Hiccup Haddock the Third will be banished from the tribe and the island of berk. Furthermore, I command that you are to engage him if you see him. Bring him back for trial; if he resits, use force." he told them all. There was shouting of agreement amongst the people; the loudest was the Jorgenson clan. They always wanted Hiccup gone.
From that day on, Hiccup was banished from Berk and wasn't welcome back anymore except for his official trial. Little did they know that Hiccup would be back, even if they didn't want to.
(With Hiccup)
Hiccup and Toothless flew for almost 9 hours after they left Berk. They looked around and tried to find an island they could use as a sort of base for where they would plan everything. In doing that, they flew outside the archipelago. After almost nine hours of flight, they found an island big enough for if they decided to build up an army and would also give them enough cover from passing ships. (The island I'm thinking of is Dragon's Edge)
After landing, Hiccup built a small campfire and settled against Toothless. "This place could work, don't you think?" "Yeah, this island is pretty good. Enough cover from passing ships and big enough to live here freely." Toothless replied, eating his fish. After a few minutes of silence, Hiccup thought, "If we build up enough fear, we could make an army of our own. You dragons must have an alpha to coordinate such attacks on villages. So if we beat that alpha, the dragons must follow us, right?" "You know, technically, you're right. The nest doesn't have an actual alpha but a queen. If we defeated her, the dragons would have the instinct to follow our rules. The only problem is, the queen is massive, so I don't know how we would be able to defeat her." the dragon responded. "Let's not worry about that right now. We first need to build a shelter and a forge so I can maintain my weapons or craft new ones. After that, we should start by making ourselves a name for dragons and Vikings, so both would fear us. If we find any dragon on this island, we will tell it to stand down and follow our lead or die, and indeed, the first few dragons would deny it. We use the same tactic for Vikings: we demand supplies, and if they don't provide, I guess you know what then." Hiccup told him. "Sounds good enough to me." was his only reply.
After discussing how to build shelter, Hiccup and Toothless went to sleep.
When they woke up, the first thing they did was get breakfast. After eating, they packed up their supplies and explored the island. After an hour, they came across a cave. Walking inside, they found the cave bigger than they first thought. The shelter had an entrance big enough to fit Toothless and Hiccup, even if they would fly in. The back of the cave had a small passage in the right corner, leading to a few tunnels, each connecting with a different shelter at the end. In total, there were three entrances.
Deciding that this would be their new home, Hiccup started by chopping down trees for furniture and firewood. Toothless helped him carry the wood to the shelter. While Hiccup was working on creating a few chests and a few pieces of furniture, Toothless was hunting for food and furs. When Toothless returned, he killed three deers and two boars. That would be enough to cover the entrance and make a small bed. The meat from the animals would also be enough for a few days.
After Hiccup finished his first task, the day was already over. So thinking that today would be enough, they went to sleep.
The next day wasn't less productive. They managed to build a forge in one of the caves with an opening but closed it so that only the chimney would come out of the cave. Building the forge was easy with Toothless's help and enhanced abilities. After that, they decided to try their luck and find a dragon roaming on THEIR island. After 10 minutes of flight, they spotted a Nadder in a clearing below them.
Landing before the dragon, Hiccup dismounted Toothless and pulled out his swords. "What are you doing on our island?" To Hiccup's surprise, the dragon answered, "That's none of your business! I was here before you, so you have to leave or die!" Toothless and Hiccup looked at each other, sighing. Hiccup got in a battle stance, followed by Toothless. "Guess we will have to kill you for not listening to us." Hiccup told the Nadder. The Nadder was the first to strike, shooting spikes at both of them, but they evaded all of them. Toothless shot a blast against the dragon's wing, making it unable to fly away. Hiccup rushed in and slid underneath it, cutting its legs deep, causing it to stumble to the ground. The Nightfury jumped at the Nadder, bitting its second wing and ripping through the connection between the tail and body, severing the nerves and making the tail useless. Now the Nadder was lying on the ground, bleeding hard and unable to flee. With a last effort, it tried to roast Hiccup, who rolled to the side and jumped forward, pushing the sword deep into the Nadder's skull. The dragon's body went limp, and Hiccup pulled his sword out.
Looking at the dead dragon, he can't help but feel excited. The dragon was disrespecting them, so they dealt with it. Now their journey began. The next step was to visit a village, and if they found a ship or dragon, they would engage and come out on top.
(Ten days later)
Hiccup and Toothless had been busy stocking up their food and wood supplies in the last ten days. Now Hiccup's tools were becoming dull and needed replacement, which meant they would go to the first village. They left in the early morning, looking for a Village. They found a small town on an island three hours away. Landing in the forest, they waited till dusk set in before entering the village. When the people noticed the pair, an alarm bell was heard, and people began rushing out of their homes, weapons in their hands. Seeing this unlikely pair, they all stopped, wondering what was happening. A giant Viking is pushing his way through the crowd. Hiccup looked at him with a cold stare sending shivers down the man's spine.
The man had a build similar to Stoick. The difference was that he had blonde hair that was relatively short, no beard, and was wearing bear fur on his back. A Warhammer was in his right hand. Stepping forward, the man thundered, "Who are you? And why did you bring this devil here?" Hiccup looked unimpressed but answered in a cold whisper that was heard by all of them, "Who I am is not necessary, but what I want is. You will give me everything I want and need. If you cooperate, I'll even let you live. If not, I will kill all of you and take it."
The people were murmuring about the boy demanding things and threatening them. The chief didn't like that very much and rushed toward Hiccup. Toothless just looked bored while Hiccup jumped up, kicked the bulky man to the ground, and held one of his swords against the man's neck. There was complete silence. No one expected to have their chief beaten in just under three seconds. Hiccup looked at the surrounding villagers and spoke with a commanding tone, "You will give me everything I need, or all of you die the same way he dies." and slit the chief's throat. The man was choking on his blood for about 15 seconds until he died.
The people were terrified. This teen came to them demanding things, and after their chief tried to shut him up, he killed him in less than a minute. They all were afraid of what he could do, so one of the elders stepped forward, "What do you need?" he asked while bowing down. The village followed his example and bowed down.
The next ten minutes, Hiccup ordered them what to give him and put it in a basket. After he got everything he wanted, he turned to the people, "At least you decided to cooperate, which means that I won't have to search for another village for now. I will be back if I need more. Oh, and one more thing. Don't try to cross me. Next time you try that, I will destroy this place." With that, they disappeared into the night.
(Their home)
When they arrived, they stored their things and sat in the bedroom. "You know that they will plan to kill you the next time you arrive, right?" Toothless asks him. "Of course, I know that. I'm counting on it. After we kill all of them but one, he will spread the message we will give to him." Hiccup answers with a smirk. "And what message will that be?" "He is the message. There will be a new order coming. Either they follow it or go under with their old life." "So basically, a lot of people will die?" "Exactly."
Both of them slept well that night, knowing they made their first step and no one could stop them.
That's the next chapter. More blood and fights will be in the following chapters, so be prepared!
