Elijah watched the red door that haunted his dreams whenever he chose to relax, so he never did. How did the witch know this? know my weakness? His super-hearing picked up footsteps, and he looked to see it was Marcel. He found himself talking to him, holding his shoulder, but he couldn't make out what was being said.
He led Marcel to the door. He tried to stop it, but he couldn't do this to hurt his brother's son. No, I need to stop, BONNIE. He tried to call out, but failed. When he shut the door, he turned to see all his siblings dead on the ground: Kol, Klaus, Finn, Rebecca, and even Freya. He fell to his knees crying until he forgot himself.
He looked to his right to see Marcel leaving blood on his hands , he disappeared, and Bonnie was in his place, sashaying her way to him her curls swaying, with the look of a displeased mother. She stood next to him and looked down at the bodies of his siblings, she threw her head back and sighed.
"Elijah, you are not making this easy."Bonnie says her voice still affected from when Rebekah attack her earlier. Suddenly they were in the place Klaus bought for Bonnie and he was fixing his cufflinks, while hanging on to her every word. They were talking about an artifact that she seen in her vision and wanted to go get but he said he would do it instead. He gazed at her, She alone is the honored one,Elijah blinked. What is he thinking?
"This whole devotee thing is creepy, you know; you don't have to protect me, Nik is annoying enough and don't get me started on Bekah," Bonnie told him, bringing him out of his thoughts.
"I know, but if something is to happen to you, you leave behind many broken hearts," Elijah told her with a smile. He turned away from her, and as he turned, he was back in the living room. He looks around and sees all his siblings are back, but Bonnie remains on her knees by the table, no longer shuffling her cards and her heart erratically beating.
Klaus looked up at him,"if everyone is back why isn't she back?" He asked, but before he could respond, he could smell the witch's blood.
They all looked at Bonnie, and her nose was bleeding, and Klaus started to call her name out. Freya went next to her, touching her and studying her for other signs of distress before getting up and heading to her workshop.
Meanwhile everyone was panicking that Bonnie hasn't woken up,
Finn had heard everything that his sibling was talking about with the Bennett witch, but he was disinterested. So what if she saw him dying? He had died before and it was not appealing to be a vampire. He spent most of the time being dagger or hated and called boring by his siblings. Elijah taking his place as eldest brother, all sticking besides Niklaus, all in the name of always and forever. A promise he didn't make with them and he was sure did not include him.
He would have love to spend more time with his sister Freya, when he lost her when he was a boy, he feared ever being close to anyone else. He couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone he loved again.
But that wasn't the point, he didn't care about this vision that Bonnie had to show his siblings, but some how his soul was drawn from Freya's necklace, and here he was on the verge of death again and in hell of pain this time from what looked to be terrible wolf bite. In the distance, he could see Klaus in chains, which made him chuckle a bit.
Then he saw the witch. What was her name again? He asked himself as she knelt next to where he was lying. He blinked, and it came to mind: Bonnie.
"I don't know how to heal this, but I'll try," she said inspecting him. she sounds like she's dying too. He tried to stop her and tell her what the point was to save herself, but no words came to his mouth.
Bonnie started to chant, and Finn was just stuck, useless as usual, with only this magnificent soul trying to help him. Despite her hatred for his family, she tried to help him, so he exhale and accepted it, and he felt his soul moving again.
He looked at Bonnie and saw that she was looking around. He did the same, and he caught himself looking at his reflection. He was looking at someone he didn't recognize; he had red curly hair but not like Bonnie's and brown eyes, and he was wearing clothes that were not the best for this century.
He felt magic course through his body, Bonnie's, and of this body, whatever the witch had done, she gave him a new body; she made him a warlock again. She did a body jumping spell with no preparation at all. Wow. He stared at her growing in admiration for her
"What did you do?" He said he was going to touch her, but his hands went through her.
"I don't know; do you know where we are?" she asked. How the bloody hell should he know? He wanted to see her, but being ungrateful wasn't something he wanted to do; after all, she gave him a wonderful gift. He should worship the ground she walked on.
"You need to leave; your nose is bleeding," Finn said as she reached for her nose.
"I can't ,what about you?" she asked. so self-sacrificing we need to change that, he mused
"I can take care of myself." Finn said, "I'll find my way back to my siblings eventually; I always do." Finn chuckled. Ah, I have my own life, and I'm still going back. at least I have something to look forward too, he glanced at bonnier once more she was fading
"What should I tell them?" She asked
"I'm in the old world," he told her. She was about to speak, but she disappeared. Finn shook his head and walked out of the alley he was in. He took a deep breath. I'm a witch again, and I'm back home, back where it all began.
"Finn, wait!" Klaus heard Bonnie say, she blinked her eyes adjusting to the change of environment, he watched as she pushed herself up from the couch he had placed her in. She touched her nose, but the blood was no longer there; Freya had manage to stop the bleeding by placing the bracelet Bonnie had given her on. She took deep breaths catch herself while looking around until her gaze met his.
"What happened? Why are we all here? Did the spell not work for you guys?" She asked, her voice hoarse, and she pushed herself up to stand but stumbled instead. Immediately, Klaus was by her side.
Elijah walked into the room, hearing Bonnie's voice calling out for Finn. They thought he was the last sibling to return;but maybe they were wrong. They all had discuss what they saw while they were in Bonnie's mind, well almost everything, Elijah didn't want Klaus to know how he saw Bonnie at the end.
Klaus put Bonnie back to sit, and Freya walked in with a cup and kneel in front of Bonnie, placing the cup in her mouth and urging her to drink. Klaus sat next to Bonnie with his hands around her. Elijah and Rebecca, across the room, studied Bonnie, thinking back to the time they spent with her in their visions.
"Did the spell not work?" Bonnie asked when she finished the tea Freya gave her,
"It did do you not remember?" Rebekah was a bit angry. why the hell is she pretending? Bonnie shook her head, massaging her temples
"I just remember helping Finn, and then we were someplace different," Bonnie said, dazing off. "He called it the old world, but it just looked normal to me." Bonnie sighed, trying to get up again, but Klaus held her in place; he was worried she would collapse again.
The siblings all shared a look. Is Finn alive?
It would explain why Bonnie didn't come back with Elijah,Klaus thought. When he looked at Bonnie, he could tell she was magically exhausted. He broke his skin with his teeth and offered her some blood, which she greedily accepted this time.
"Alright, don't drain me now," he said after awhile. He knew how intoxicating his blood could be to witches, but this felt different; this felt like something he shouldn't do in the presence of his siblings. She turned to him and gave him a bloody grin, and he wiped the blood from the corner of her lips.
He almost leaned in to kiss her, but Elijah cleared his throat. Klaus turned and looked at him, but Elijah was studying Bonnie, they all were
"Are you saying Finn is alive?" Freya inquired with hope in her voice, and Klaus rolled his eyes again. Of course, she would be glad her favourite brother was back.
"Yes, he's back, but not as a vampire," Bonnie said.
"Did he body jump again?" Rebekah asked, and Bonnie shook her head.
"I was trying to heal him, not put him in another body," Bonnie said. Elijah was about to ask her another question, but Klaus stopped him.
"Bonnie is tired; I think it's best she rest for now." Freya nodded in agreement with Klaus's statement.
"I agree shes been through enough, we can save our questions for tomorrow," Rebekah said surprising everyone, Rebekah was still skeptical of the witch but she knew she didn't really mean no harm to her family.
Klaus picked Bonnie up in bridal style and walked to his room. He placed her on his bed and went to draw her a bath.
When he was done, he came out and saw that she was gazing off like she was the day he first saw her in New Orleans. He touched her shoulder,
"Are you alright, Bonnie?"
"Yeah, just witchy stuff," she told him, shaking her head a bit before looking at him. He nodded, kissing her nose. He didn't know why he did that action, but it give him comfort to feel her breath on his skin.
"Take off your clothes; I drew you a bath," he told her. What would have happen if she never woke up?
"Trying to take advantage of me Mr. Mikealson?" Bonnie said with a smile but it didn't reach her eyes. What's wrong my love? how can I protect you better? He returned the smile, her eyes lit up slightly at the action.
"I would never," he said, giving her a devilish grin. She laughed at him and started to strip. He watched her as she did, his body reacting to seeing her fully naked for the first time, but now wasn't the time for that.
Klaus helped her into the tub and watched her as she put her hair in a bun and relaxed. He thought about the past few weeks with her and how somehow he has grown to not only know how she felt, but somehow it is a part of him. He could sense she was sad about how things went. Was she experiencing the same things as him? Did she feel his doubt when he was in her vision? Does she know I have unwavering faith in her for helping me and for calming his soul? did she know that he was slowly growing to love her? Nik was unsure what he could do to make her smile again.
He offered to wash her, and she nodded. He took this moment to enjoy this intimacy—the feel of her skin against his hands, the way her voice hitched as he touched certain parts of her body—and mentally noted them for later. As the loofah reached her neck, she looked up to him, his hands reaching to her chin and her hands to his cheek, allowing her to feel his stubble. They looked at each other for awhile, aware of each other's emotions and how they balance each other.
Klaus bent to kiss her, and they fell into a dance, not for dominance but for the other know they accept this bond that was growing between them.
Helping Finn had taken a toll on her, especially since he was so readily accepting his death, with cause he believed he had no-one. Then just now she had flashes of Rebekah desiccating and Freya being poison, she heard them cry for each other. She felt completely useless, how could she help them, if she was unable to help them.
She didn't know how she would move on after this without intervening in what was to come. She did not want to be involved, but wasn't she already, with this friendship with Klaus, her connection with Hope, and her friendship with both Hayley and Freya? How could she not be part of it all?
Bonnie opened her eyes and stared at Klaus before slowly pulling away. She studied him, this bond between them, what is it? where did it come from ?
When she started to wrinkle, she came out of the tub and put on a robe that was there. Klaus went out to get something from his sisters so she could have something to wear. She stepped out to his balcony, watching the last full moon for this month, and let out a sigh. Tonight had triggered Bonnie, she felt like she was running from Kai all over again.
Klaus came up behind her and placed a kiss at the nape of her neck. Bonnie moved to get dressed and went into his bed, while he just stood there and studied her, wondering what had changed between the time of the tub and now, what he had done, and how he could fix it.
Bonnie thought of what would come when she woke up.
Bonnie pushed herself off the bed she was lying on, confused when she didn't recognise her surroundings.
Quickly, last night's events flashed through her mind: Rebekah attacking her, the siblings going into her mind, Finn being alive. Bonnie took a few breaths, which she found herself doing more often since she came back to the real world. Each time, she felt like she was losing herself; she believed that this was all part of her imagination and she was still in the prison world, hallucinating all over again.
Bonnie heard pecking on the door leading to the balcony that over looked New Orleans. When she looked, she saw it was a blue jay. Bonnie sighed at the reassurance. She touched her chest and felt her heartbeat.
Bonnie got up and left the room in search of her bag so she could leave and go home. As she was going down the stairs, She ran into Hope, who looked like she had just woken up.
"Bonnie, you slept over?" Hope asked, her voice still full of sleep. Bonnie stooped down and nodded.
Yeah, I did, but I'm leaving now," she said, giving Hope a hug, which she returned.
"You should have some breakfast before you go," Hope told her, pulling out of the hug. "It's not good to skip breakfast," Hope said.
"I agree, stay for some pancakes," Freya said, coming up behind her, Bonnie began to shake her head.
"Pancakes is Aunt Rebekah making them?" Hope asked gleefully, But Bonnie's body immediately tensed, flashing back to last night.
"No I'm okay, I'll grab something on the way," Bonnie said, grabbing her bag that was by the stairs and started to walk away but Hope hugged her feet and looked up to her with those big brown eyes of hers,
"Pleassssseee Bonnie," Hope begged, Bonnie felt like giving in but she really didn't want to spend more time with this family, she barely made it out alive last night and she wasn't pushing her luck any more not even for this beautiful little girl.
Bonnie bent down and said "Maybe another time okay," She gave Hope a kiss on her forehead, Hope pouted but nodded.
"Hope go to the kitchen, I need to talk to Bonnie alone," Freya said. Hope was about to protest, but Freya gave her a stern look and she went stomping to the kitchen.
"Are you okay Bonnie?" Freya asked, positioning herself to be closer to her, Bonnie nodded, because if she talked she knew she would start to cry.
"Do you want me and you to go out for breakfast?" She asked,Bonnie raised her hands and protested.
"No, I think I'm going home and catch up on something, but I'll talk to you later I promise," She said her voice a little crack, Bonnie walked away from Freya and towards the gate so she could leave.
She let a sigh of relief when she start her car, as she drove her phone began to ring, she glanced and saw it was Zaci, She pulled over when the street was empty and answered.
"Hey Zaci," Bonnie answered
"Hey Zaci? I have been calling you since last night," Zaci fumed, "I thought something happened to you since Vincent said you left him and Elijah there," her voice filled with worry.
"I'm sorry I wasn't near my phone last night," Bonnie apologized
"Are you okay?" Zaci inquired, Bonnie release a deep breath.
"Yeah I'm alive," Bonnie stated, "Bonbear, what happened?" Zaci asked
"Last night was rough, I just want to," Bonnie cried, her tears no longer wanted to stay in place, she started to cry over the phone, while Zaci tried to comfort her as best as she could over the phone. When Bonnie calm down
"Are you still coming for dinner tonight?" Zaci asked hesitantly
"Yeah, I'm going to invite Dene and Amaka too, I need to tell y'all something." Bonnie elaborated.
"Okay, I'll tell mom," Zaci said
"I'll come over to help too," Bonnie said
"Okay, do you want me to come see you?" Zaci asked
"I'm okay, I'll tell you what happen later okay," Bonnie insisted to calm Zaci down
"Okay, Ill see you tonight Bonbear," Bonnie smiled and ended the call before Zaci convinced her to let her come over.
She started her car and drove home and when she pulled up, she saw someone on her doorstep, when she got out her car she recognized it was Damon, she looked around to make sure it was just him.
"What are you doing here?" She asked him as she got to the steps.
"is that anyway to greet your best friend?" Damon smirked, Bonnie rolled her eyes at him and went up to her door.
"What do you want Damon?" Bonnie asked putting her bag inside and turning to face with her arms crossed
"I guess, I'm not getting invited in huh?" He said his jaw ticking.
"Get to the point Damon." she sighed gesturing at him.
"Why did you leave bon-bon?" Damon asked, Bonnie put her hands on her hips, No way hes asking her that.
"You were asking me to buddy up with someone who tortured me," Bonnie said
"yes but it was for Caroline," Damon said plainly
"and look she ended up with her humanity back on without me faking it with the Kai," Bonnie said,
"yes but would be a lot quicker than it did," Damon said, "It took her seeing her mom died again to get it back on," Damon explained
"Yes and well she needed the reality check anyways," Bonnie said "yes she love Stefan but nothing he said would have worked," Bonnie stated
"How could you say that about your best friend?" Damon huffed, she rolled her eyes, how could she not, everyone else bared the pain of losing their love ones and Caroline choose to cop out, like she didn't know how dangerous vampires are with no humanity.
"You guys expected me to get over grams death, and help you with spell so she couldn't toughen up a bit," Bonnie said, she ready to have Caroline to lean on her when she found out about her mom, but she didn't want to feel, which she understood, but Caroline admitted that turning off her humanity only made the grief worse.
"those are completely two different things," Damon pointed out, Bonnie rolled her eyes, she really didn't want to get into semantics when she didn't have breakfast yet.
"Damon why are you really here?" Bonnie asked irritated that her week was somehow getting worse.
"I cant stay long but we do need your help, Kai." Damon started
"of course its about fucking Kai again," Bonnie yelled, "What does he want my heart, my soul, my magic?" Bonnie said walking back and forth.
"No, after he killed most of the Gemini coven, he's been missing," Damon said. Bonnie was aware that he had killed off the coven and turned into a vampire but really, that's why no one but her knew where Caroline was. Somehow while dying the twins Jo was pregnant with went into Caroline.
Bonnie knew if he came to her she would not hesitate to kill him.
"Maybe its for the best we don't know where he is," Bonnie shrugged,
"yes but he's obsessed with you," Damon stated, "and if we want to see Caroline again we need to deal with him," Damon continued
"and it has to be me right," Bonnie said throwing her hands up
"yes, so you see-" Damon started but Bonnie interrupted
"No, I don't see, I don't care, you guys figure it out, if he comes to me he's dead," she looked Damon in the eyes "But I'm no longer stopping my life for you," Bonnie stressed
Damon walked up to touch Bonnie but she backed away and shook her head.
"I cant do this no more Damon, I have lost too much already," Bonnie fumed "you guys, you have all the time in the world, I'm the mortal one and yet," Bonnie looked away to stop herself from lashing away.
"I understand, Bonnie its just that," Damon began before he felt a pain hit him right above his pelvis, his eyes sting him he felt this huge weight on his dropped to his knees, Bonnie grew tired of no on listening to her so she pushed all her grief, her anger, the pain she endured unto him.
"Do you understand? Do you really?" Bonnie said getting to his level, her hands in tight fist.
Damon felt like he was about to die, he was trying to stand, but the pain he was in emotionally and physically was too much.
"I'm sorry please just stop," Damon croaked if she was in this much pain why did she never say anything?
"Are you sure you understand now?" Bonnie challenged, Damon nodded his head and she released her fist, Damon instantly took in deep breaths, trying to get his self calm down. He got up and touched her shoulder but Bonnie just shrugged it off.
"Just leave okay," Bonnie said, Damon stepped away,Bonnie turned away to face the door, Damon smell the salt her tears, He tried to think of what to say but he couldn't. after experiencing a fraction of what she was feeling, he honestly didn't know how she continued on.
"Bonnie I-" Damon began but the words was stuck in his throat. Bonnie let out deep sigh and open her door and went inside, Damon looked at the door one more time before he sped off.
Bonnie lean her forehead against the door, she felt foolish to think that anything could ever change for her.
