Chapter 151: The Date
From back within the room, the morning sun had begun to rise. Though early in the morning, one didn't get any sleep, for he was awake about an hour before the sun began to rise. From within his room, he greatly panicked. Finally, this was the day he'd finally spend time with the girl that caught his eye, something that he didn't think would happen. But... it was happening. He wished he could've done it sooner, but he was too afraid to do anything and afraid that he would hurt her.
However, Storm kept walking back and forth while he kept going "Oh shit" repeatedly.
"What would the Council do if they found out?" said the boy, "What would Luna do if she knew?"
The teen sat down on his bed with his hands on his head. He was rubbing his forehead furiously as he tried to make sense of this situation and what was about to happen.
"You go down this path. There is no turning back."
"Yeah... I know," responded Storm.
"You bring shame to everyone. You bring shame to your Master and what she's taught you."
"Yeah, I know."
"So... why then? Why go through with this?"
"I don't know... maybe, because... I don't know," confessed the Jedi. "Maybe... I want her to be happy."
"Seems the princess really does have her hands all over you. You're really her royal boytoy. Is that what you want to be? Someone's property?"
"I'm nobody's property."
"Yet you serve her. You are her personal bodyguard. She selected you. Why? So she could have you all to herself. You follow whatever order she gives you. She commanded you to go out with her, and you have no choice but to comply."
"I have a duty as a knight," stated the boy.
"You don't see it, but she has you on a leash. So riddle me this... if she asked you to do something passionate, intimate... would you do it?"
For a while, nothing. Silence as Storm began to cook up the thoughts in his head. He kept his head buried in his head.
"I'll guess we'll find out when we get there," said the boy as he got up and left his room. The Jedi had to prepare for the date he was about to have with the girl.
"Someone must stop the cycle of the strong trampling the weak!"
Meanwhile, Twilight, on the other hand, was in the same boat, going "Oh my gosh" repeatedly while frantically walking around. Velvet saw how stressed out her daughter was. She couldn't help but smirk when she saw her like that.
"My lady, please calm down," said Moondancer, trying to calm the princess. "You'll give yourself wrinkles if you keep going like that."
"How can I not?" said a frantic Twilight, "I've learned about every Jedi tactic book and philosophies while studying at Temple. I learned everything I could about friendship when I started as Celestia's apprentice. But I don't know anything about romance!"
"Sweetie, don't you wanna be happy and have a special somebody in your life so that you can learn to have a normal life and balance?" asked Velvet to her daughter. "When someone comes along, and you truly feel a connection with them, you must take that opportunity while you have it. Because one day, the person you care about could be gone forever, and then you'll be left wondering what might have been."
Twilight looked down a bit, for her mother did have a point. She developed her first crush but brushed it away constantly to fulfill her duties as both a Jedi and a princess. But the moment she met Storm, there was something different about him. The way he showed her around, the way he stuck by her, and the locations they went as they bonded greatly. She couldn't help but smile at that. Even the kiss she gave him on the cheek on Hearts and Hooves. And just the thought of him no longer being here frightened her. In fact, it gave her nightmares.
She felt a hand on her shoulder, gaining her attention as it was her mother's, while she said, "Trust me, Twilight. I think it'll be good for you. Even a princess deserves love."
She held her hand close to her chest, thinking about what her heart wanted. She said, "Alright, I'll do it, Mom."
"That's the spirit, darling," said Velvet. "Now then."
The Queen clapped her hands. The door to her daughter's room opened as several other handmaidens, Fleur and Coco, entered.
"First things first. You will need to freshen up and get a proper cleaning, then be dressed for your trip. Oh, and I'll add some light makeup for the situation." said Velvet to her daughter before addressing Fleur and Coco. "Fleur, help the Jedi get ready."
"How do you he's coming, Your Majesty?" asked the head maid.
"I'm the Queen. I know everything."
"At once, Your Majesty," said the girl as she left to await Storm's arrival.
"Coco!"
"Let's see," said the girl as she pulled out her measuring tape and did some quick measurements on Twilight, who was being led away. "Since Rarity left, it's going to be a challenge. But... I think I might have something."
"Mom, isn't that a bit too much?' asked a concerned Twilight.
"Oh, nonsense, sweetie," said Velvet as she reassured her.
Storm cleaned himself as he exited his home, got on his horse, and began to ride toward the castle. Upon arrival, Fleur grabbed him and pulled the boy into a private room with her. The maid began to work on helping the Jedi pick out an outfit for his outing with Twilight. As for the princess, she was having the hardest time, for she could barely do anything to prepare herself, with the others kept doing it for her.
Soon Fleur finished as she presented Storm in front of a mirror. The boy was wearing an entirely different outfit than he'd worn before. The new outfit the maid picked for him consisted of white shoes with black shoelaces, blue jeans, and a white shirt. Fleur offered him a cream-colored jacket, but then he tossed it away, thinking it wouldn't look good on him, so he chose the black jacket instead.
Twilight was also dressed like a normal girl. Twilight was now wearing purple shoes, a blue miniskirt, and a purple shirt with short pink sleeves, with her royal crest mark on the left side of her shirt.
"What do you think, Your Highness," asked Coco as she finished putting on the outfit for her.
"I like it," said Twilight, but then she observed the mirror and saw her butt while observing it, "Although, it kind of makes mine look big."
"Oh, don't be absurd, sweetie," said Velvet as she walked over. "It fits you perfectly. This outfit you're wearing is absolutely breathtaking."
"But…." said Twilight as she was nervous, then looked at mother and said, "Do you think he'll like it?"
"Of course, he will, sweetie," said Velvet, until she mumbled, "He'll especially like that tushy of yours."
"MOM!" shouted the princess to her mother for saying that.
"Oh, come on, Twilight. He's waiting for you," said Velvet as she began to push her daughter out of her room.
Storm was waiting in the main hall of the castle. The boy tapped his feet on the marble floor with his eyes closed, head down, and arms crossed. His fingers tapping rapidly as it was a clear sign he was nervous. Soon footsteps were heard as he looked up. Standing atop the stairs was none other than Twilight. The bookworm took a deep breath as she began to descend the stairs.
The teens were soon standing before each other. They were surprised to see what they were wearing and blushed a bit.
"Hey."
"Hey."
The Jedi had a hard time coming up with words. Both were unsure of what to expect for the day ahead of them. Or... how this would all play out.
"So, um," said Twilight as she twirled a bit. "How do I look?"
Storm couldn't help but smile as he said, "Like you were born for this kind of thing."
Twilight couldn't help but blush and smile at his compliment.
"So, um…shall we?" said Twilight.
"Uh, yeah. Sure." said the boy, feeling just as nervous.
"Make sure she's home by 2300!" said Velvet as she shouted from the top of the stairs and waved.
"Mom!" stated Twilight as she was now embarrassed.
The princess hid her face as she walked away. Storm followed her close by as Velvet smiled, seeing the two teens heading toward the stables.
"So, where are we going, Sparky?"
"Manehattan," responded the girl as she flung open the doors to the stable.
"That's quite a distance. Even if we took the train, it'd still take us quite a bit," said Storm.
"Which is why... we're taking something faster than the train to get there," said Twilight as she came to a door and began to push it open.
Storm looked inside as there was a winged horse. The pegasus, clad in bits of armor over its body and a saddle on its back. As the boy took in the magnificent creature, the animal was chewing on fresh grass. Twilight approached the creature as it recognized the princess, nuzzled her, and let her pet her nose.
"We're taking a pegasus?" asked Storm.
"Yup. They'll get us there and back with plenty of time," said Twilight petting its nose.
"I thought your father said these are only supposed to be used in emergencies," the boy stated.
"Yeah... but... I didn't tell him. He doesn't know I'm gonna use one," smiled the girl at her partner.
"You... breaking the rules? What happened to the girl who would freak out when someone or something didn't follow regulations?" asked Storm with a sly smile.
"Well, she was like that until..." Twilight then approached her partner and wrapped her arms around his neck as he held her, looking into each other's eyes. "... she spent alot of time with an idiot."
"Idiot?" chuckled Storm.
"Why do I always let you get what you want?" asked Twilight, to which Storm was about to respond with a witty remark until she put her finger to his lips. "Don't answer that... I know why." smirked the princess with a wink and left his arms.
"Well, then. Let's get go-"
Storm was putting his hand out to grab the pegasus' reigns when the winged horse turned its head and attempted to bite his hand off. The Jedi's senses went off as he quickly acted on his reflexes and pulled his hand back. The boy fell on his behind as he stared at the winged creature who made noises and seemed to threaten him.
"What the hell?!" shouted the Jedi Knight as he addressed the pegasus.
Twilight put her hand on the pegasus and let out a small chuckle while stroking its mane.
"Sparky, get this under control!" said Storm, checking his hand to see if he still had all his fingers.
"Heh! You ever wonder why all the Falcon Knights riders we have in our service are all female?" asked Twilight with a smile.
Storm took a moment to think as he recalled that nearly every Falcon Knight guard in service to Twilight and her family was female.
"Well, it's because pegasuses are rather picky. They don't like males riding them," answered Twilight.
"Oh, great. I thought people were sexist, but I didn't think animals were capable as well," said Storm as he glared at the winged horse who did the same to the Jedi.
"Come on. We've got a full day ahead of us," said the princess as she saddled up the creature.
"Fine, but you're driving," stated Storm.
Soon the stable doors opened as the pegasus walked out. Its wings were spread as it took in the sun and its rays. On it were the princess and her bodyguard as Storm sat behind Twilight. The girl held the reigns of the animal as she gave some sounds and clicks. It responded to her call without any issue as it began to gallop forward a bit before spreading its wings. It began to flap them as soon it lifted into the air as Storm was caught off guard by the sudden wind in his face. Twilight smiled as she flicked the reigns of the pegasus, and they began to soar through the air and made their way toward Manehattan.
A tree was shown as a branch was shown. Soon a figure appeared on it as it was a Scout guard. The guard brought his two fingers to his helmet as the armor began to do its thing. The vizor zoomed in on a figure flying through the air as it enhanced it and showed the princess and her partner flying through the sky. The Scout then turned off his vizor as he disappeared and prepared to report this to the King.
"What?!" said Night Light.
"It's as is I saw, Your Majesty," said the Scout guard as he kneeled before his King.
"Thank you for the report, Scout. You may leave."
"Yes, Your Majesty," bowed the guard before he disappeared.
Night Light tapped his fingers on his throne as he couldn't believe what he heard from one of his men. Not only did Twilight take one of the pegasuses without his permission, but she was with the Jedi. He had half a mind to believe he convinced her to do all this.
"Falcon Knights!" shouted the King.
As if on cue, several female riders in armor appeared before their King and kneeled with their heads down.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" responded the females.
"Really, honey," said Velvet as she made her presence known to her husband. The Queen walked toward him and clung to his arm. "Come on. Twilight is simply going to show Storm around Manehattan. Nothing to worry about. I just told him to have her home before midnight."
"Velvet!" said Night Light as he couldn't believe his own wife allowed their daughter to go with the Jedi and stay out late.
"Now, honey. I was just doing my duty as a mother. And that's letting my daughter hang out with whichever boy she wants."
"And I'm doing my job as her father," said Night Light, knowing full well that Storm would take advantage of Twilight if alone. He then turned to address the Falcon Knights kneeling before them. "Follow them. Bring my daughter back home. If you have to use force to drag her home, then so be it. But should I see a single scratch on her, there will be hell to pay!"
"Yes, Your Majesty!" responded the female guards.
"And what of the Jedi?" asked one of them.
"Honey," said Velvet looking at her husband with her hand on his cheek.
"You're all allowed one hit on him," stated Night Light, hoping that warning would send a message to Storm.
"Yes, sir!" said the guards as they all left.
"Nighty," said Velvet to her husband, still clinging to his arm.
"I'm just looking out for her. I still don't trust the Jedi," said Night Light. Velvet sighed, seeing that her husband was still skeptical of Storm. Nevertheless, she still loved him as she gave him a loving smile.
"Let's ride!" said the captain of the Falcon Knights as they all got on their respective pegasuses and took to the skies.
"So, how much farther, Sparky?" asked Storm as they had been flying for a while.
"We're almost there!" said Twilight.
The Jedi had been traveling for a bit as they passed many clouds and felt the wind in their face. Storm saw Twilight in front of him as, from the side, he could see her smile. The boy then saw something out of the corner of his eye as another set of wings started to appear. The Jedi turned his head as soon the set of Falcon Knights instructed to take Twilight back home per her father's order appeared. The group tracked down the Jedi and were hot on their tail.
"Uh, Sparky. We got company," said the boy.
Twilight turned to see what her partner was talking about. She should have known that her father would send out a patrol to take her back home.
"There they are!" said one of the Falcon Knights.
"What's the plan, Captain?" asked another rider to their squad leader.
"Fire a warning shot!" said the captain.
One of the Falcon Knights reached for the bow on her back as she leaned to the right where her quiver of arrows was in one of the pegasus' saddles. She grabbed an arrow, put it in the bow, and pulled the string back. She focused on the target in front of her before releasing it. The arrow sailed through the air as it headed for the Jedi. Storm's senses went off as he turned and saw the arrow graze his nose.
The arrow spooked their pegasus as Twilight quickly pulled its reigns and spoke to it to calm it down.
"Sparky!" shouted Storm.
"That was a warning shot!" said Twilight.
"That's a warning shot!" yelled the boy, almost not wanting to find out what an actual kill from a Falcon Knight was.
"Not stopping, Captain," said the rider that fired the arrow.
"Alright, ladies. Time for some action. Evasive maneuvers!" shouted the captain as they all broke into formations to surround the Jedi.
"Hold on!" said Twilight to Storm as she made their pegasus dive.
The winged horse quickly dived and tucked its wings in. Letting gravity accelerate their fall downward as even the Falcon Knight did. Storm felt the wind in his face as he held onto the princess to avoid flying off. Twilight noticed that they were above the city of Manehattan as she instructed the pegasus to dive down as where they would be diving would be near the port where many means of transport came in regularly.
The princess had her pegasus go through a cloud as the rest of the guards did the same. The group all landed at the port as they made a presence when landing. Some of the nearby people saw them and gasped upon seeing some members of the royal army. They all backed up as the sound of the pegasus' hooves trotted along the concrete. One person was shown stealing when one of the Falcon Knights pulled her bow back and fired an arrow without looking. The arrow tagged the thief and had him stuck to a building as he was hanging off the sleeve of his jacket.
That got the attention of everyone else as they quickly went back to minding their own business, lest they get caught in the way of official royal business. The captain stopped, as did the others, as they looked around. They were scanning to see where the princess and her knight could have gotten off to, but there was no sight of them or their ride.
"What now?" asked one of the riders.
"Spread out. Find them," said the captain as she and a few other Falcon Knights got off their pegasuses. "You two. Tie up the pegasuses and patrol the port. You lot, take to the skies. Scout from above. The rest of us will cover on foot."
"Aye, Captain!" responded the other female riders.
The group assigned to fly above the city took to the air. While the captain and the rest of them all got their lances, swords, and bows and began to walk. Leaving the final two to take their pegasuses somewhere secure and patrol the port.
The captain and her crew exited the port and entered a busy street. People were walking about, transports on the streets passing by. They looked around, but still no sign of the teenagers. The captain then pulled a man off the street and grabbed hold of his shirt.
"You there! Have you seen two teenagers just about now? One wearing a satchel with the princess's royal crest!" demanded the woman.
"N-No. I h-haven't. Please, don't hurt me. I've done nothing wrong!" said the man, slightly terrified of having the royal army before him.
"Very well," said the captain as she released her hold on him and straight out the wrinkles she made of his shirt. "If you see anything, let us know. Let's move, girls!"
The group of Falcon Knights then began to break off into smaller groups as they began questioning everyone they came into contact with. Peeking out from a corner, Twilight saw the guards as she pulled her head back in.
"Looks like this isn't gonna be a smooth outing," said the princess to her partner.
"You're telling me," said Storm as he managed to tie up their pegasus without having the creature trying to bite his hand off. The pegasus glared at the male. "Well, screw you, you... you... Sparky! Is there a word that describes a horse as a bitch?" asked the teen, trying to insult the animal.
The pegasus seemed to hear that as it tried to take a shot at the Jedi.
"Both of you, calm down!" said Twilight as their fight could give away their position. "Please, settle down." The princess touched the pegasus' nose as the animal settled down upon the girl's touch.
Twilight shushed the pegasus while rubbing its face and mane. While Storm gave the animal the middle finger as he started to hate it. Soon the princess managed to talk to the pegasus about staying hidden for a bit. She told the animal she would bring some treats, to which it nodded. Taking one more peek out from their hiding spot, Twilight looked to see if any guards were nearby. After glancing, she could see the coast was clear. The princess grabbed her partner's hand and dragged him behind her so that they could begin their date.
"Alright, so where are we going, Sparky?"
"We're gonna start in the one place I know the guards won't bother to look in," said Twilight.
"Which is?" questioned the boy.
"The museum!" responded the princess with an excited smile.
"Typical," muttered Storm as he let the girl drag him.
The pair soon arrived at the museum, and Twilight was all too excited. Storm dreaded what to expect. The boy followed the girl as he stepped through the front door. He was expecting some boring regular museum, but he was amazed by what he saw upon entering. Portraits, figures, statues of people. Some held weapons, others wielded tomes, and some rode on exotic animals.
"Sparky, what is this place?"
"This is the museum... the museum of my ancestry," explained the girl.
True to what the princess said, they were in a place that housed all the information about Twilight's entire bloodline. All the Kings and Queens that came before her, to the many lords and ladies, even to her first ancestor. The entire Sparkle family tree was right here.
"Your ancestors?" said Storm as he walked past the girl to approach a giant family tree in the center.
The Jedi looked at the massive portrait as he followed all the limbs and branches it spawned. At the base of the tree, where the roots were, was Twilight, along with her two siblings. The princess approached her partner as she looked at it.
"To think... thousands upon thousands of generations... and it all falls on me," said the girl. "People think it's easy when you got so many, famous ancestors. But... it's not. There's so much pressure to be just like them."
Twilight walked a few meters away as she clutched her arm. The girl was almost in pain thinking about living up to the expectations placed on her since she was born. Storm saw the princess hurting as he approached her and touched her shoulder. The girl turned her head to look at the Jedi; his touch felt nice, as if he was taking away all the anxiety she was experiencing.
"You're going to be a great ruler," said Storm as he wrapped his arm around the girl's waist and pulled her in.
Twilight blushed at Storm's actions before gazing into his eyes and touching his face. The girl looked at her partner as she saw his smile. The smile that could always cheer her up no matter how depressed she was.
"Thanks," said Twilight, giving her partner a smile. "So... want to meet the rest of my family?"
The pair came to a display as in it showed a person. The person was in a cave as drawings were on the wall, next to a small fire. In their hand, they had a wooden stick with a piece of metal attached to the end as if it was used for combat. Storm looked at the figure as he approached a small podium with info.
"The royal family began with the first-ever ancestor. Astros, the smartest of his kind, depicted many drawings of the night sky that would eventually lead to future astronomers documenting them."
"Guess being smart is a family trait," said Storm as he looked at Twilight.
"Genetics," responded the princess with a sly smile.
She then grabbed her partner's hand as they moved to another section of her family history.
"Selim was one of the most influential of the royal bloodline. Having established and taken part in an order hood composed of 40 individuals. Each had unique abilities and magic, but Selim was the tactician and advisor to the group's leader. Together they took every amount of gold, treasure, and anything of value. After retiring, Selim decided to enjoy a life of peace."
Storm looked at the portrait to see a man wearing a Saddle Arbrain tunic with a sword by his side.
"Some records say that Selim is what started my family's wealth. They say there was a big cave full of treasure that he and his gang acquired over the years. When everyone passed away, and he was the only one, he went to the cave and took all the treasure. From there, he began to plan for my family's future inheritance." said Twilight.
Safe to say, Storm was shocked to hear that Twilight's family was not only smart but to think that far in advance that they were setting the stage for the generation to come after them. The boy moved to another part of the museum as it had a statue of someone he knew.
"Clover the Clever. One of the most powerful wizards to exist. Some say he was a prodigy when it came to wielding magic. Nobody else could match, apart from someone. An apprentice to the great wizard, Starswirl the Bearded, Clover's hunger for knowledge and magic made him one of the most powerful members of today's royal family. Born to a wealthy family, he met the great wizard as a mere boy. From then on, he studied under his tutelage. Eventually, he landed employment under a great baron's court. There he met the baron's daughter Platinum and would continue to serve as her court mage. Involved in what would become Hearts Warming Eve, Clover continued his life. Years later, the baron's daughter, now head of her house, started to fall for the court mage, and the two were wed."
"I can only imagine how hard it must have been for my ancestor to put up with her," said Twilight looking at the statue of her ancestor and the pose it was doing as it was in an attack form, with magic coming out of his hands.
"Morgiana was a master thief in her time. While skilled in magic, she had other skills. Mainly her ability to swordfight. No other man or sworder could match her technique. She soon discovered her love for adventure and set sail among the seas. Donned as the Brillant Pearl, her ship was a feared ship that even the fiercest pirates would think twice about tangling with."
"You never told me that you had a pirate in your family bloodline?" said Storm, shocked to find out that Twilight had an ancestor like that.
"Well, it's not something you want to brag constantly to everyone," said Twilight.
Most people knew that some of her early ancestors were in league with thieves and whatnot, but they mostly did it from other bad people. However, it wasn't something that should be celebrated and talked about compared to some of the other good stuff her ancestors did.
"Sir Gallant. The most honorable and noble knight to exist. In service to the lord he was under, he fought daring creatures of all kinds. His greatest battle was with a witch named Gaia."
After reading the latest entry, he then moved to another one.
"Despite no magic abilities, Serenity was a fierce individual with a blaster. A natural gunslinger whose skills couldn't be touched by even the most experienced. It was said she could shoot an egg from 1000 meters. Even with a blindfold."
"So, as you can see, not everybody in my entire family heritage was given the same powers as others. They had to improvise with what they had around them," said Twilight.
"Lord Emerald. A warrior and powerful mage that went toe to toe with Discord in his last encounter. He'd spent nearly his entire life combatting the evil draconequis that threatened Equis. His return prompted the warrior to find allies who could wield the Elements of Harmony. Though they may have failed at times, in their final battle, with the discovery of the Element of Magic, wielded by none other than Emerald himself, they could seal Discord off and begin rebuilding."
"Ever since we defeated Discord, his statue has been under heavy security. With tons of surveillance happening every second," said Twilight.
"Do you really think we'll have to face him again?" asked Storm, knowing full well how powerful he was to the point he even died against his foe.
"Let's hope it never happens. I... I can't bear going through that again," said Twilight, referring to when she held Storm's dead body in her arms.
"King Lambert. The first ever King of Equis would be the starting point for many rulers. He became the first ruler when he defeated the witch, Nightmare Moon. With his trusty lance made from her black heart, he defeated and banished her for 1000 years."
"Queen Rose, a woman who quelled a rebellion from a church. Using magic and technology, she came up with an invisible suit of armor. One that made her sneak past her enemies and silently take them out. Some say the armor used by the Ghost guards of the royal army got their development based on Rose's notes."
Before the Jedi could talk with the princess, a sound was heard. The doors to the museum opened as in came the captain of the Falcon Knights accompanied by some of her comrades.
"Fan out. If the princess and her knight are, we'll find them," said the captain, figuring that Twilight's hunger for knowledge would lead them to this place.
The female warriors began to split up as they searched the museum. Each passing by several members of Twilight's family as they gave a respectful nod and continued their search. As for the teens, they managed to hide behind a statue as they peeked out. They needed a way to get out because their time at the building was up. Luckily, Storm noticed an opening in the roof as a window was open.
The boy gestured for the princess to look up as she nodded. Both then jumped to an upper level and quickly vaulted just as one of the Falcon Knights turned to look at the spot where they just were. They slipped through the small open and landed on the roof. They looked back down before slipping away as the captain looked at the small opening.
"Well, so much for your plan, Sparky," said Storm as he looked at the princess. "So, what now?"
"Come on! Let's keep moving!" said Twilight as she began to leap to another rooftop as Storm followed.
A carriage was trotting down the street. In it were Twilight and Storm as they managed to hitch a ride. The Jedi were now traveling along the streets, taking in many sights they passed. The princess was currently holding onto her partner as she was snuggling him. Storm had his arm around the girl's waist as he held her close. The smile on his face, the beating and warmth in his heart resonated with a satisfying feeling for the teen. He couldn't help himself as he kissed the top of the girl's head.
The pair soon arrived at a small play performed as Twilight had insisted and forced Storm to watch with her. The Jedi was held against his will and sat down with crossed arms. Throughout the play, Twilight slowly cuddled her partner and held him close. During one part of the play, when a character was singing, she grabbed Storm's fingers and interlocked them. The boy focused on the play with a refined look while Twilight looked at him as the song was sung. The two characters: a boy and a girl; the latter was a noble, with the former being a commoner as in Twilight's mind, she envisioned it was them, and Storm was signing to her.
It's a big bright, beautiful world
With happiness all around.
It's peaches and cream
If a dream comes true.
It's a big bright, beautiful world
With possibilities everywhere.
If true love is blind
Maybe you won't mind the view?
I know I'm not the handsome prince
For whom you waited
I don't have a fancy castle,
And I'm not sophisticated.
A Princess and a Jedi,
I admit is complicated.
You've never read a book like this,
But fairytales should really be updated.
It's a big bright, beautiful world.
I see it now, I'll let it in.
I'll tear down a wall
And clear a spot for two
To be with you.
It was as if the message was for her. For the first time in her entire life, she felt what love is. She didn't want to leave him but knew she had responsibilities. She had to choose between her duty and her heart. Which was easier said than done. Now that she knew what love was, she didn't want to lose it. She looked down and shed a tear, for could she ever part with someone like that?
The play ended just as the group of Falcon Knights was shown. The Jedi slipped away as the group looked around before continuing their search. As they walked, Twilight's stomach began to growl. Storm looked at her as a smirk appeared.
"Sounds like someone wants a hayburger," joked the boy.
"Shut up," said Twilight with a blush as she playfully bumped him and giggled.
"Okay, where's the nearest Hayburger joint?" asked Storm, knowing that's what the princess liked the most.
"Actually, I have someplace better," said Twilight as she grabbed her partner's hand and led him away.
Soon the teens arrived at the establishment as they entered.
"Table for two," said Twilight.
The waiter nodded and led the pair to a table. The Jedi pulled the chair out for the princess as she appreciated his common courtesy. Their served brought them some glasses of water as he left them a chance to figure out what they wanted.
"So how'd you find out about this place?" asked Storm.
"My dad took my mom here for their anniversary and have been coming here ever since."
"Fancy, then," chuckled the boy as he sipped his water.
The princess sighed blissfully as she extended her hand to put it on her partner's. The boy noticed it as he looked at the girl with a smile. The pair enjoyed their lunch, all while sneaking glances at each other. Once they finished, they began to head to a small street fair.
The pair blended among the crowd as the Falcon Knights began to explore the fairgrounds. The Jedi played several games while also avoiding the guards. All in all, it was quite fun. Not just from the games they played but the excitement of getting caught, as it gave both teens some adrenaline.
"Are you sure you saw them?" asked the captain.
"They came this way," said another guard as they spread out.
A tree was shown as peeking their heads out were the teens. Seeing that they were able to lose the guards, they pulled back and laughed. Twilight leaned against the tree as Storm was in front of her with an arm next to her head.
"Nice plan, Sparky."
"Did you forget who your partner is?" smiled the girl, staring into the boy as they were very close.
"An adorkable nerd," responded the Jedi Knight.
The boy brought his other hand out and caressed her cheek. Twilight blushed from Storm's touch; her legs got weak and buckled. Storm quickly caught her by her waist and pulled her in rather firmly as she had her hands on him. The two stared into the other's eyes as Twilight slipped from her bodyguard's hold. She winked before slipping around the tree; when she turned, Storm was already holding her and spinning her around. The princess chuckled as she once again freed herself from his hold.
Storm chuckled as he chased after the girl. The princess was leading her partner along a grove of trees as she encouraged the boy to catch her. The Jedi was cutting off the princess at certain turns she made as she quickly avoided him reaching his hand for her. The pace began to quicken as soon both found themselves running as Storm chased after the girl.
Twilight avoided her partner while laughing; when she spun, she crashed into the boy as he caught her, and the pair fell to the ground. The pair were laughing as they tumbled along a small field of flowers. Soon they stopped as Storm was on top of Twilight, as they continued to laugh. Flowers spread into the air when they landed; as the boy was laughing, Twilight took the initiative and kissed his cheek.
Storm was taken aback a bit as he looked down at his partner. The princess stared at her partner as she gave him a look with a set of bedroom eyes. The Jedi soon had a smile on his face as he shifted his position to sit with the princess directly in his lap. The girl looked down at her partner as her hands cupped his face. The teens felt the spark between each other as the girl moved her forehead to touch his. The two closed their eyes and smiled while holding each other.
The captain of the Falcon Knights was shown bending down. She grabbed a handful of grass and sniffed it.
"They were here," said the captain as she tossed the grass to be carried off by the wind.
"Anything on your end?" asked one of the Falcon Knights as she put her hand to her ear.
"You won't believe it, but I found them."
On the other end, a Falcon Knight was on her pegasus as she located the Jedi. She sent the coordinates to her allies as she was told to remain out of sight. As for the Jedi, they were currently on a bench. Storm was shown lying on it as Twilight was lying on him. Her head was on his chest as the boy had a hand running through her smooth, lavender-scented hair. The princess had her eyes closed as she was enjoying being in the presence of her personal knight.
"This feels... nice," said Storm as he looked at the princess before gazing forward to watch the sun slowly setting.
"Yeah," responded Twilight as she opened her eyes.
The girl enjoyed her partner's touch as she wormed to be directly face-to-face with Storm. The princess moved her hands down and felt his muscles through his shirt. The Jedi responded as he moved his hands and placed them on the girl's hip. Both were not taking their eyes off each other as they let their brains go on autopilot.
Twilight slipped her hands under Storm's shirt as he slid them under her miniskirt. The Jedi sank his fingers into the flesh of the girl's behind as the expression she had indicated she enjoyed it. The princess began to kiss the boy's cheek passionately as if matching his rhythm of squeezing her behind. The pair then shifted their position as Twilight lay on the bench with the Jedi on top of her.
Storm looked at the princess below him as she gestured him on. The boy took the consent as he lowered his face near her neck and began to plant kisses along it as the princess grabbed the back of his head. While the teens were enjoying themselves, the Falcon Knights had all gathered as they were in the air. One of them pulled back on the bow as she angled her shot.
"Remember, don't hurt the princess," said the captain.
"Got it," said the Falcon Knight as she concentrated.
The female guard kept her focus as she accounted for the wind blowing. With a smirk, she let it fly. The sudden snap of the string was heard as the arrow soared through the air. The Jedi were sitting upright as both were looking to lean in. Their target: the other's lips. Inch by inch, they got closer, with Storm having a hand to grab Twilight's side. At that moment, the arrow flew in between them as any inch further, it would have been a critically hit.
The arrow embedded into the bench as both knew what that meant. A quick turn as the Falcon Knights in the air began to dive down. The Jedi then did a back stand flip over the bench as they began to book it. The teens ran through the small park as the pegasuses were hot on their tails. Storm had his lightsaber fly into his hand as he turned it on and deflected any arrows that strayed near him. The Falcon Knights made sure their arrows were near the Jedi to that he could block them if they got a bit close, but they kept to the King's word and made sure not to shoot the princess or harm her.
"Sparky, what's the plan?" said Storm.
The pair ran as the rest of the forces managed to cut them off and were shown flying before them. One drew her sword and charged in. Storm rolled as he got to a knee and blocked a strike from the guard. The female was moving forward on her steed as the boy was forced to take some steps back. The guard was looking to herd the Jedi to the others as she went for a thrust; Storm did a side flip over her as he knew what she was doing.
The Jedi looked behind him as the rest of the guards sent to take Twilight back home were shown. They were in the air, looking to surround the boy on all sides. As a few moved, a giant wind began to blow. It caused everybody to hold their position as Storm put his hand in front of his face. He caught a glimpse as there was Twilight on their pegasus.
"Jump!" shouted the princess.
Storm leaped into the air as he landed behind the girl. Twilight flicked the reigns as their pegasus quickly took off. The rest of the Falcon Knights looked on as they saw their target flying off.
"After them!"
"No!" said the captain as she got the rest of her squad to stop.
"Captain?"
The captain brought her left wrist up, and she tapped her armor as it began to transform. Out popped a small earpiece as she put it in her ear.
"Falcon One to Roost. Do you read me?" said the captain. "The package is on the way. I repeat the package is on the way."
"Copy that, Falcon One. We'll move into position. Over and out."
The Falcon Knights then took to the air as they began to head back to the kingdom.
"Nice thinking, Sparky," said Storm.
"You forget who your partner is," smiled the princess. "I always have a plan."
"Nerd," smiled Storm.
Twilight leaned back and had her head resting on Storm. The girl leaned up and kissed his cheek as she let him take the reigns of the pegasus. The boy kissed the top of her head as he took control of their ride as they began to fly through the now night sky and clouds smoothly. The stars in the dark sky provided a beautiful sight as the princess couldn't help but relish in this romantic moment.
After taking the scenic route back home, the pair saw the kingdom in sight. Storm silently spoke in Twilight's ear to wake the princess, who had fallen asleep on their ride. The girl opened her eyes and yawned, making the Jedi's heart beat slightly faster. The pegasus headed to the stable as it landed before the small building. It trotted into its pen as Storm got off.
"You're home, Sparky. And right on time, like your mother said," stated Storm as he straightened his clothes.
"Thanks," said Twilight to the pegasus as it gave a loving neigh to her. It then turned to Storm as it growled.
Storm merely gave the pegasus another middle finger to show the feeling was mutual between the two. Twilight giggled as she remained seated on the back of the animal. Storm approached her as he put his arms out; Twilight slipped off and into the boy's arms as he carried her bridal style. The girl had her arms around his neck as the two smiled. The Jedi then walked as he continued to carry the girl.
The door to the castle was in front of them as Storm stopped and gently set the princess on her feet.
"Thanks for carrying me home," said the girl.
"No problem, Sparky. Today was... nice," stated the boy as he admitted that today's "date" was rather enjoyable.
"I... also enjoyed it," smiled Twilight as she nervously dug her foot into the ground and swayed back and forth with her arms behind her.
"Well... I... I... should turn in. We got to leave early if we're gonna make it back to Coruscant for the meeting," said Storm.
"Wait!" said Twilight, getting her partner's attention before he turned.
"Yeah?"
"I... I want to say thanks. You know... for giving me a good time," said Twilight. "And... maybe... you could escort me to my... private..."
The princess moved toward her partner as the moonlight shined down on them. The girl gazed at Storm's eyes as her hand traveled to his cheek. The princess began to listen to her brain and mother's words as she was deadset on doing what she was about to do. She closed her eyes and leaned in their lips, about to...
"Now!"
A voice shouted as out from hiding appeared several guards. An Assassin, Veteran, Hunter, two Soldiers, and a Conjurer appeared. They all jumped on the Jedi as they piled on him. The guards attempted to hold down the teen.
"Guards!" said Twilight.
"Stay back, princess!" said two more Soldiers as they appeared, held Twilight back and stood before her in case they had to jump in and help.
Storm struggled to break free as the guards put all their weight on him.
"Hold him down!" said the Assassin.
The Conjurer used her magic and made Storm's lightsaber appear in her hands to avoid him using it. The Veteran pinned down the Jedi's left arm as the Hunter pinned down his right arm. The Assassin was on the boy's back and held his head down to the ground as the two Soldiers stabbed their spears near his head in a crisscross formation.
"Guards, let him go," said Twilight.
"TWILIGHT!"
The princess turned to see her father and mother standing before the open door. The girl looked as the King had a stern look on his face. Storm lifted his head what he could as he saw the ruler and his wife.
"Inside, now!"
"But, Dad..."
"Now, young lady!" stated the King.
Twilight sighed as she began to march toward her parents. She stopped next to them as she turned to look at her partner being held down as she gave a wave and had a lovesick smile. Storm popped a quick smile of her own.
"Guards make sure she gets to her room!" said Night Light.
"Yes, sir. Come along, princess," said a Soldier as he and another began to usher Twilight away.
Holding a chalice of wine, the princess turned to look at her mother as she winked at her. The Queen knew what that meant, as she was glad her daughter had a nice time with the boy she loved. Twilight was led away as Velvet turned to look at her husband, who still had a stern look on his face. Night Light then turned back at Storm, still held to the ground. Velvet leaned over and whispered into her husband's ear.
Night Light looked at her before walking toward Storm. The Jedi saw the King approach him but couldn't do anything. Soon the teen felt something on his face as the King had his foot on his face and was pressing his weight on him.
"You took my daughter without my consent. That is a deed worthy of being thrown into the dungeon. I would love nothing more to have you tried and executed." said Night Light, putting more pressure behind his foot as he continued to step on Storm's face.
The teen grunted as he was locked in place. As best described by his action, the Jedi was put in his place as the King showed him who was in power. The boy underneath the King as he stood over him.
"But consider yourself lucky. You have my wife to thank for that," said Night Light as he removed his foot from the boy's face. "Now... give her thanks."
Storm looked over at Velvet as she continued to sip her chalice of wine.
"Thank you," responded Storm.
"Address her properly!" stated Night Light as he held his wife by her waist and pulled her in.
"... Thank you... Your Majesty," said Storm, having defeat in his voice as he thanked Velvet for convincing her husband not to kill him.
"Consider this a debt you owe me, Jedi," stated Velvet with a sly smile.
The King and Queen turned as they were looking to head back into the castle.
"What shall we do with him, Your Majesty?" asked one of the guards.
The King looking back at Storm, as tempting as it was to let his men have their way with the Jedi, he'd gotten his message across.
"Let him go," said Night Light.
"Oh, do I love it when you're dominant," said Velvet with a lustful tone, as seeing her husband like this turned her on.
The pair entered as the guards began to get up from holding the Jedi down. Storm grunted as he sat on his hind legs and watched the guards enter the castle. The last one to look at him was the Conjurer as she snickered before dropping his lightsaber on the ground as the door to the castle shut.
The boy sighed as he slowly got up, rubbed his wrists, approached his weapon, and bent down to pick it up. Storm looked at his lightsaber as the words of what Night Light said to him once rang throughout his mind.
If you were a noble or someone of status, I would let you ask for my daughter's hand in marriage. But because you are a Jedi, I refuse to acknowledge it. I will never see you as a son. Nor will you ever be a part of this family.
Storm trudged along the path to his home as he clutched his left arm.
"Luna..." said the boy as if calling out to her.
I've warned you, my apprentice. Twilight is a liability. Like all girls, she will make you do things you don't want. I should know. You're a teenager who has the responsibilities of a man. She'll want things you can never give her. Remember your place.
"My place... as a Jedi..." muttered Storm as he continued to make his way.
The voice in the boy's head also spoke.
"I was right. You are nothing to them. You are nothing but property to the princess. Our true goal must be to stop the strong from trampling the weak. Forget this! You were never gonna be one of them anyways."
"Unity..." spoke Storm.
The next day came as true it was the day both Jedi were called back. Another issue was happening that needed both to be present. The small brief details depicted some uprising happening on a nearby planet and were asking the Republic and the Jedi to get involved. The political debate would be held soon, and if both Storm and Twilight were present, they had to get an early leave.
The boy met the girl as her fighter was by the port in the kingdom as the engineers finished their maintenance and told the princess it was okay to go. So with one final goodbye to her family, the princess, and her partner were off as their Clone War was anything but over.
Author's Note: It seems the "date" between Storm and Twilight seems to have gone well... for the most part. Of course, one of the biggest things introduced was the mention of some of Twilight's ancestors, some that have been mentioned and a few new names introduced as well as showing the array of what they did during their time. Adding more to the pressure of Twilight not only being the first Jedi in her entire family bloodline but also to be a great ruler and person that the people can count on. Now, our heroes must head back as the war continues. As always, leave a review expressing your thoughts and comments.
