All right, now let's take a trip back to the past, and focus on what the kid versions of Shaggy, Daphne and of course, a pup named Scooby-Doo have found! It's been a little long, I admit, so keep in mind, some things won't be as refined as what I had originally intended, but rest assured, we're going to make sure this story gets completed! So, let's see where we go from here! Anyway, enjoy!

EIGHT YEARS AGO...

Daphne picked up the document they found in curiosity as she looked it over. "Like, ugh. These numbers seem to be a little... complicated."

Shaggy looked over "Gorgeous Gal"'s shoulders to read the document, as did the young pup, Scooby as they raised their eyebrows respectively, before Scooby said, "Rath. Ruck!"

"...boy, times like these I wish we had our smart genius with us. She'd probably decipher it in a minute." Shaggy frowned.

Gorgeous Gal gave a smirk as she patted the boy on the shoulder. "Worry not, Commander Cool, for I did borrow a little something that could help us..."

The orange haired girl started to fish around in her leotard pockets as she was thankful that Velma had left her smaller portable super computer behind that day. Sure enough, the young Daphne pulled out a small computer with a familiar logo on it, a familiar dog tag logo that Scooby noticed, to his curiosity.

Shaggy did too as he gave a chuckle. "Heh, this looks almost like the same computer our friend uses..."

Daphne's eyes widened as she turned her head towards the boy and his dog in shock as both Shaggy and Scooby narrowed their eyes in suspicion towards "Gorgeous Gal". She gave a nervous smile as she waved cutely...

Shaggy's look of suspicion immediately dropped as he gave a smile. "You must be friends with a super genius, obviously a fan of the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency, no doubt?"

"Reah!" Scooby said, returning the same smile.

Daphne couldn't help but give a smile. "Ehhh... I know somebody..." She chuckled nervously before turning her back and giving a small sigh of relief, being thankful that the boy and his dog were still naive. "Let me insert this in and..."

Somehow, Daphne sent the paper inside the small super computer's disc tray, which somehow took it in like a fax machine. The computer immediately lit up as it started to chug and search through the numbers.

As they sat down to wait, Daphne gave a nod as she turned to Shaggy. "Okay, so while we wait, maybe it's best we review what we know about this case, Commander Cool. Just so we can get a better idea on what we're dealing with..."

"Right!" Shaggy grinned as he turned to Scooby. "Uh... where do we begin?"

"Uhhh... rhe riamond?" Scooby asked.

"Right! Somebody took the Future Diamond, most likely Sir Reginald, who seemed to know how the diamond works!" Shaggy proclaimed.

"We tailed him to his home, in hopes that he might have more information..." Daphne said as she noticed Scooby pulling out cue cards that he had somehow drew in a matter of minutes, showing the superhero personas on their journey, with the first one showing a slight depiction of the diamond, and the second one being that of the 'heroes' tracking down a stick figure marked Sir Reginald.

"Rhen we heard arout a ronster!" Scooby noted before removing the cue card to show the three heroes listening in at the window at two figures talking quietly amongst themselves.

"Right, that Clock Monster..." Commander Cool shuddered. "Clock Monster of Doom, they said..."

"Right." Daphne said as Scooby moved to the next picture, showing the three kids freaking out upon seeing the monster for the first time. "If you had a friend that denied the existence of ghosts and monsters, I'd say she could be wrong fifty percent of the time."

Scooby nodded as he was about to move to the next cue card, then blinked twice before looking at "Gorgeous Gal" in suspicion. Shaking his head, he removed the next cue card to reveal a drawing of the inside of the house. "Re rot rin rhe house."

"Right..." Shaggy said. "And we split up into teams. You managed to find that secret passageway where you got yourself kidnapped."

"It took me off guard, I'll admit..." Daphne blushed in embarrassment before Scooby threw away the cue cards.

"And while you were captured, we managed to get some clues..." Shaggy said as he pulled out the flakes from his pocket. "Like, there were these gold flakes I found while I was looking for you. I overheard a conversation between that Clock Monster and learned he had some minions amongst them... so we may be dealing with something big."

Daphne bit her lip. "I hate to say it, but I totally agree. When I was kidn-" She looked a bit embarrassed to say the word, so she shook her head. "I mean... caught off-guard, there was a second person with that first guy that kidnapped me. I assumed it was the Clock Monster's voice, and he had a minion with him too."

"Zoinks." Shaggy shivered as the young pup Scooby gave a gulp.

Scooby shook his head as he decided to go over to the super computer to look over what it had on that document so far.

"How could this happen to the both of us?" Daphne sighed as she looked down. "I hate to say it, Commander Cool, but I don't know if we have the capabilities of doing all this... we're still nowhere close to finding that diamond, AND with that Clock Monster on our tail..."

Shaggy looked ready to suggest that they leave this place, before noting "Gorgeous Gal"'s rather upset looking face. At that moment, it caused the kid dressed as a superhero worry. Like, seeing this cute girl in despair when all she wanted to do was help... needless to say, he noticed that hope was leaving her eyes... but what could he do...

He shook his head as he took a deep breath. "Gorgeous, wait!"

Daphne looked up towards the young man as he sat next to her. "Don't overthink everything. Remember what you told us? About how we can't give up because we need to commit to our case?"

Daphne sighed. "What good would that do?"

Shaggy paused briefly as he tried to think. "Uh, well, how do I put it, that is..." He stumbled upon his words for a minute, before taking a deep breath. "Look, even when the Gorgeous Gal of the comics was feeling down, she always needed a cheer-up perk from none other than Commander Cool himself. He didn't see Gorgeous as just a girl hero stepping in to help, he saw a potential hero and a great helper. Sometimes, even the helpers can feel helpless, but if we put our brains together, we'd make quite a formidable team. We may have some differences between each other, but those differences can form nicely to one similar thing. And if we can work it out together, we can be unstoppable!"

Daphne looked surprised at how dorky Shaggy was being, but she was starting to smile, feeling a little better. "So... you're saying that I'm really good?"

"Like, of course!" Shaggy said as he unknowingly touched the girl's hand, clasping it lightly. "I mean, if you hadn't came in, Mellow Mutt and I would probably have never thought about the approach you wanted to do. And... well, outside my superhero identity, I do have some friends that I like, and one of them, though vain and snobbish, always had the best advice."

Daphne looked rather surprised at Shaggy thinking of her as vain and snobbish, looking rather offended, before realizing what Shaggy said at the rest of the sentence. "She did?"

"Yeah, she may be a bit narcisstic at times, even a little doubtful, but she's always got our backs, giving me a nice warm smile, and cheering up in her own way... even if it was related to fashion, but that's Daphne for you." Shaggy chuckled nervously, before shaking his head, before biting his lip. "S-sorry, I didn't want to say anything in front of her..."

Gorgeous Gal couldn't help but blush as she smiled. "You know... Commander Cool... uh, I have a friend like yours in my civilian identity. Sweet, polite, a little childish... at first, I thought he'd be too childish and often believes in the silliest things."

"Like, this girl is describing what I look like in a nutshell..." Shaggy thought as he let his mind process, looking rather surprised, before laughing. "Boy, that guy must be pretty dumb!"

"A little bit, but... I think he's pretty sweet." Daphne smiled. "He may not be the most fashionable boy I know, nor is he even mature, but when it comes down to his smarts and bravery... even if he feels he doesn't want to go along with things, I think deep down, he's a very brave boy."

Shaggy looked surprised. "Brave how?"

"He's never left our friend group, despite everything he's went through. It also helps that after every... uh... group thing we do, he always gives a bit of a surprise, like he treats my group of friends for a get-together every time, and... he's a bit of an experimental cook."

"How experimental?" Shaggy asked in curiosity.

"Well... uh..." Daphne paused as she tried to think. "He's very good at cooking. Often tells me his mother and father taught him how to cook. He made the best jambalaya in the world..."

Shaggy raised an eyebrow in curiosity as he said, "If she's impressed with this guy's jambalaya, then it's probably nothing compared to my recipe... and yet, something about Gorgeous looks familiar... why can't I, like, put my finger on it..."

With that, Shaggy scooched a little closer as his young face looked at Daphne's, hearts flowing around his head. "Well, uh, I happen to have a good jambalaya recipe myself, if you're willing to try..."

Daphne's heart was racing faster as she looked at the boy in front of her. A blush started to become obvious as she couldn't help but feel a little... parched. She looked over at the boy's eyes again before lowering her own as she gave a smile. "I suppose I could compare recipes..."

"Commander Cool" and "Gorgeous Gal" looked at each other as they leaned closer, their hearts racing as their eyes lowered, their faces about an inch apart. Their lips... so very close...

A loud beep was heard, causing the two to snap out of their funk as they turned to see Scooby touching a key on the portable computer, the screen showing a message. Scooby smiled as he turned to his fellow 'heroes' and motioned them over.

Shaggy and Daphne blinked twice before realizing they were holding hands. Blushing furiously, they retracted the hands away as they gave nervous laughs. The young Blake girl coughed as she said, "Uh, maybe we better focus on our case."

"Right. What does it say, Mellow Mutt?" Commander Cool asked as the two heroes joined the pup.

"Rook at ris!" Scooby said as he pointed towards the screen.

The three turned as the screen showed a familiar looking diamond and mathematics... alongside a small sentence. Gorgeous Gal leaned closer in curiosity, wondering what that sentence said...

And that is that for chapter sixteen! How did you guys like it? Next time, we'll be heading back to the present time, where Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne are continuing their OWN investigation... BUT in the process, find something very, VERY familiar, something that was thought to be lost. What is that? Well, you'll see for yourselves! Anyway, read, review, criticize and suggest, folks!
