All right, back to the future, everyone! And it's time for future Shaphne to try to get to the climax of their case! Anyway, enjoy!
EIGHT YEARS LATER...
Back in the projector room, Shaggy and Daphne were quickly recovering from the bright light that had teleported them here as they were feeling their bodies, checking to see if anything was out of place.
"Like, okay, okay, we're back in the movie theater, right? We're in the right time period, we're not being chased by that crazy Clock Monster from all those years ago?" Shaggy said as he looked around.
Daphne looked around the room as she looked out of the window, seeing the empty movie theater in all its glory, save for an unconscious dog still laying about after his experience with seeing two certain kids. "Everything's just as it is, unless I made a mistake..."
Shaggy shuddered. "Like, please don't joke about that..."
Daphne giggled as the purple wearing girl approached the young man and grabbed his hand. "Regardless, I think this mystery is just about solved."
"Oh, wonderful. So... you said you had a plan?" Shaggy asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, and we better hurry it along. We better wake up Scooby and get it all set up." Daphne nodded as she and Shaggy ran downstairs as they arrived, just in time to see Scooby slowly getting up and groaning.
Shaggy raised an eyebrow. "Scoob? Like, what happened?"
"Ugh..." Scooby groaned as he rubbed his head... before giving a loud yell in fear. "RONG RAGGY! RONG RAPHNE! RERE IN RHE ROVIE RHEATER!"
Shaggy and Daphne blinked twice as they looked at each other... before Shaggy's eyes widened. "Ahhhh... well, I guess that solves the mystery of what happened eight years ago when we first came here in our current present..."
Daphne giggled as well as Scooby looked at the two of them in confusion as he was still shaking nervously. "You can take a deep breath, Scooby. Those two kids you saw were us, BUT they were from the past. Remember that Clock Monster case from eight years ago?"
Scooby took a few calming breaths as he thought back... before snapping his fingers. "Oh reah! Rold Raggy and rold Raphne rom way rack ren!"
"Yeah... those old people you saw in that chase years ago... that was actually us." Daphne giggled.
"Sorry to scare you like that, man..." Shaggy chuckled nervously as he rubbed his head. "Now, if you don't mind, I prefer we don't bring up any more time travel shenanigans. Whatever's happening between us now, it's our past and future's selves problems."
"Ro... if rhe rwo Ri raw rame rom rhe rast... rhen rhis is rhe resent? Which is rhe ruture? Rut... rin rhe rast, ri enrountered rou rwo... in rhe row..." Scooby sat down as he used his paw's fingers to try to circle around and think.
Shaggy and Daphne looked at each other as Daphne patted the large Great Dane on the head. "Try not to think about it too hard. But anyway, I think there's a way we can get the Ghost of Kilijoumango out of commission... and I have a perfect plan."
Scooby's ears perked up a bit as he started to listen to the plan, with Daphne giving a nod. "All right, listen closely..."
A few moments later, Shaggy and Scooby were walking out alone as they looked a little nervous. Shaggy took a deep breath as he held his breath.
"Think of the extra bucket of large popcorn with butter flavoring that Daphne offered in lieu of Scooby Snacks..." Shaggy whispered to himself before turning to Scooby. "Scoob, you know how much I love Daphne, right?"
"Ralrays." Scooby nodded.
"Then why are we STILL becoming the bait for the trap?" Shaggy whispered back.
"Rerause re ran't resist roprorn." Scooby pointed out, before giving a smirk. "Rand rou rike Raphne."
The sandy brown haired man glared at his dog for a brief moment... before giving a sigh. "Like, yeah, I suppose that's a good argument. Still, you would think the large portions of our traps would involve NOT putting us in danger..."
"Re rust ran't rerist." Scooby sighed.
Shaggy sighed, before looking back towards the direction Daphne was at and gave a warm smile. "And yet, I can't help but admire Daphne's ideas... you know, Scooby, Daphne and we... we all make a good team. You know that?"
Scooby chuckled a bit as he continued to walk along with his friends. "Ri rew rince we were rids and a rup..."
"True, true, but I mean, like... well, ever since the day Daphne came in wearing her Gorgeous Gal outfit... like, I always thought Daphne was pretty as a kid, even if she wasn't all that fun, but when I saw her in that outfit, and after that mystery... like, wow, was she the most funnest woman in the world." Shaggy smiled as he gave a lovesick smile. "I think it's because of us that Daphne is more than willing to come out of her fashion loving box."
"Reah, Raphne was run." Scooby chuckled. "Ron't ret re wrong, rhe ras run rerore..."
"Yeah, if just a bit snobbish and prude, but she still had her moments of maturity... I just never imagined the day that she'd start having fun with us, playing with us, hanging out..." Shaggy smiled. "And the day I gave her that trademark scarf... oh, Scooby, that smile on her face when she tried it on for the first time... I felt elated that she enjoyed her little gift..."
Scooby looked over towards Shaggy's lovesick eyes as he couldn't help but roll them, but in a more humorous type of way as he gave a chuckle. "Rou rwo rould rust ro rout already..."
"We are going out, Scoob... but I know what you mean..." Shaggy paused as he gave a sigh. "All I can say is... Commander Cool needs a Gorgeous Gal in his life..."
Scooby looked over to his friend as he had a feeling what Shaggy was thinking... and knew it was coming. In fact, he knew to be prepared for the day that Shaggy would take a step up, which he had to admire for that...
"Scooby Doo, I think I'm going to step up and ask Daphne Blake to be... well, officially an item." Shaggy smiled. "You've seen us kiss a few times, and it's become to the point where I don't find it strange."
"Reah, rot range..." Scooby shook his head. "Rooks roo re rike rou already were."
"I know, I know, but it was all play dating when we were cosplaying as Commander Cool and Gorgeous Gal and hanging out like friends in real life. But now I think I'm ready to actually try US out..." Shaggy chuckled nervously. "Officially, of course."
Scooby stayed silent for a moment, before looking over to his friend and smiled. "Raggy... rou're ry riend, and riends ALWAYS rive rupport. And resrite everyrhing... Ri row rou and Raphne will rake reach rother rappy."
Shaggy smiled as he patted Scooby on the head. "Thanks, Scoob. But hey, don't think I'm ignoring or leaving you out. I know Daphne already likes you, and well, I don't think I can imagine her and me together without my loyal buddy by my side. So, if it isn't too much to ask..."
Scooby's eyes lit up as Shaggy looked down at him. "Scooby Doo, would you be willing to be our companion when Daphne and I go out together?"
"Rou ron't ree re as a rhird rheel?" Scooby asked.
Shaggy laughed a bit. "Actually, I don't think Daphne would mind having you following us. After all, she did tell me that seeing her, you and me together as a team... we'd be having fun... just as long as we do have a couple date nights alone every now and again."
Scooby paused to think for a brief moment, putting his paws on his chin as if to mimic the 'Thinker' position... before giving a smile. "Of rourse!"
Shaggy laughed a bit before giving a nod. "I knew I could rely on you, buddy..."
All of a sudden, a ghostly wail peered out from the walls as both Shaggy and Scooby stopped stiff as Shaggy whispered, "Yipe! The Ghost! All right, Scoob, we know what to do!"
"Right!" Scooby nodded as the Great Dane started to walk a little faster, with Shaggy slowly following as the plan was being put into motion...
