Robbie was trying to park his car next to Hop's house without damaging the building or having it in the way of the other residents. Once he found a perfect spot for the Dodge Charger, the older Reyes caught notice of the elderly frog coming over to examine the classic motor vehicle with awe. "So, this is what you humans use to get around?" The Orange frog announced while rubbing his chin, "I have to say she's quite the beauty." Hops announced as Robbie chuckled at this praise. "If you wouldn't mind, I would like to take a look under the hood and see what makes her purr." He went on as Robbie placed the keys into the car to pop the hood.
"Well, the car isn't a living entity until I infuse it with The Rider's Hellfire." Robbie explained as Hops was indeed eager to see the inner workings of the classic engine. "Though I wouldn't mind having you help me fix her up if you want. Though, I would need some metal tools if you have any laying around Pops." He finished off as The Orange frog went into the garage to search for his spare tool kit that was often, and begrudgingly, used to repair the damages caused by Sprig's antics.
Upon finding them, Hops returned and handed the tool kit to Latino Late Teen to examine. "How are these? Not sure if they are as good as what you would normally use, but they are the best I got here." Hops questioned as Robbie looked through them. Even though they were not what he was used to, they did mimic the common tools that were used back at Canelo's Auto and Body. Back on Earth, Robbie had to drop out of high school to help support his younger brother as well as pay the rent for their home. The Reyes Brother's Parents had due to a car accident as their Uncle Eli was arrested. Eli used to work for the Tech Corporation, White Star, and he was less than ethical with the projects he work on for the company. This is how he was recruited into SHIELD and met his girlfriend, Agent Sasha Waybright, and the Inhuman Heroine known as Quake. Thanks to his and The Rider's help, they were able to stop Eli and the power from the Sanguine Star he had obtained from his project.
Yet that was a tale for another time as Robbie seemed to be satisfied by the tool kit that Hops brought him. "These will work, Pops." Robbie announced as he placed the kit on the ground next to him as he then went over the engine to see what repairs are needed. "So, I have noticed that Sprig's and Polly's parents aren't around. What happened with them?" The Latino asked as he grabbed what was a wench within the tool kit to tighten some of the loose bolts within the engine while teaching Hops the workings of the Charger's engine.
Though, Hops sighs small regret for what had happened to the youngling's parents as he did his best to understand Robbie's explanation of how to repair the engine. "Well, they were quite heroic fools compared to you and Anne. As they made their way to town one day, a siege of Herons attack Wartwoods. The two made to draw them away before they were killed by the damn birds..." The Elderly Frog explained as Robbie showed a face of sympathy as he understood this kind of loss and responsibility.
"Well, mine and Gabe's parents died in a car crash. I was left to raise the comic book fan on my own. Though, I think I have been doing a great job in that department." Robbie announced before giving Hops a smile of admiration, "I have to say that you are doing a good job with that too. Sprig and Polly seemed to be doing quite well, yet haven't lost that Heroic Fire that their parents had." He finished off as Hops chuckled at this statement.
Meanwhile, Springs and Polly were playing an earth game called Basketball. Though it had a small twist to make things fair for Gabe's condition yet more fun for the others playing it. As Gabe showed them the inner workings of the game, the two Amphibians had a blast rolling around on their makeshift wheelchairs as they pass around a spare basketball Gabe had within his brother's car. Anne had made a basketball hoop with a nearby tree and a tweaked version of her web fluid so the ball wouldn't get stuck in the web. "Looks like you two are getting the hang of the game quite well." Gabe announced aloud as he dribbled the ball before attempting to score some points. Though, Polly was able to hop into the air and used one of her flippers to knock the game from the hop.
"You Bet Ya, Gabe! This is super duper fun! Especially since I can actually play along without the need of legs." Polly shouted out in excitement due to their game. "Though... Why can't you use your's Gabe?" The young tadpole asked with a confused looked on her face as she held the ball.
Gabe smile faded slightly as he rubbed his neck a bit. "I had an accident that severed the nerves that helped me move my legs. My brother may do his best to raise me on his own, yet he can't always stay out of trouble himself." He explained with some clear signs he wasn't exactly comfortable with addressing the issues with his crippled legs. "Long story short, we were caught in a gang shoot out and it caused Robbie's car to spin out of control before crashing... We found out later that a bullet had hit the lumbar spinal core which ended up paralyzing my lower half for the rest of my life..." The Younger Latino explained as the two frogs looked at him with empathy as well as regret on Polly's behalf for asking this personal question.
"Sounds like you guys on earth have a lot of personal issues..." Sprig announced as he tried to express he had some understanding of the pain of senseless violence. "Though, you seem to be able to make the best of what you have. Plus, your big bro cares a lot about you too. At least he has been by your side whenever you needed it." The Magenta frog announced with a wink and thumbs up. This did help settle the tension in the air as the young Latino laughed as he gestured for Polly to pass the ball for their game. "By the way, where is Anne at the moment? I heard she was trying to work on some device you guys had?" Sprig asked as the game continued.
"She is trying to fix our communicators to find out if any others made it here." Gabe explained as Polly and Sprig were quick to rush him as he tried to score some points. After all the game was more of a free for all than team-based. Though Gabe did hope that Anne would be able to reach the other SHIELD Agents that they worked with.
