In this chapter, Camille Leon and Gill are going to work together to do something evil.
And if this keeps up, they just might have their revenge on the people that they don't like.
Dr. Lurkin seems like the optimal first target, since he's nearby.
Chapter 39: Double Horror
While Camille Leon was still angry that Gill had vomited on her outfit, she actually thought he was fun to talk to. Maybe they had simply gotten off on the wrong foot.
Maybe because they both enjoyed making fun of people. Ron Stoppable especially.
She just might look around for him again. It was actually more fun than fashion camp, oddly enough.
But she decided not to violate curfew so she didn't get in trouble.
She had a pretty nice cabin anyway.
Dr. Lurkin was generous.
She could hear Gill outside, but he was having trouble opening the doors.
"Why are they all locked?" asked Gill.
Perhaps Dr. Lurkin wasn't as dumb as he thought he was. Even if he thought what Dr. Lurkin was trying to do for him was a waste of his time.
"I know! I'll just break the doors down!" exclaimed the monster.
"You do realize that if you do that, you'll wake up everyone, myself included?" asked Camille.
Her cabin was nearby, so she could hear Gill.
"Well, I'm not sure if I would want to wake you up, b-"
"If you wake everyone up, they'll realize that something is going on, and considering how scary it would be to have their doors busted down, chances are they're all going to run away. And then it will be that much harder for you to find and mutate them." noted the former heiress.
"I can still catch them all and turn them all into mu-you're probably right." answered Gill.
If he wanted to mutate everyone, he needed to come up with a different plan.
"Well, I can't just attack them in broad daylight. How many horror movies do you know that take place during the daytime?" asked the monster.
"Not many. But I'm sure if you stop and take a rest, it'll make it easier for you to come up with something." noted Camille.
"You're not wrong." answered Gill.
"Now if you mind me if I'm going to have my sleep…well, beauty sleep." remarked the fashion lover.
"Beauty sleep. That's a good one…not that I think you're ugly. You're a lot prettier than I am right now, that's for sure." noted Gill.
"Before I do this, I would just like to thank you for returning the favor I did for you." answered Camille.
"Ok, but how did I return a fa-"
Camile Leon began to laugh at the top of her lungs.
"Oh. I get it now." realized Gill.
It was actually kind of funny.
"Can you keep it down? We're trying to sleep!" exclaimed one of the campers in one of the adjacent cabins.
"Whoops." apologized Camille. She forgot that it was in the middle of the night after curfew.
Gill decided to go to sleep…in the cabin that nobody ever went to, on the basis that it was supposedly haunted.
It seemed like the perfect place to use as a hideout.
Likewise, Camille went to sleep as well.
But before she did so, Debutante decided to question her.
"Meow!" exclaimed Debutante.
"What? Are you saying I shouldn't be friends with a mutant? I would imagine that you of all people would know who I am." remarked Camille.
"Meow!" continued the hairless sphinx. She had forgotten that Camille was a mutant herself.
"You're worried about the other campers? Well, I will admit I was afraid at first when I found out what I had become…"
Debutante waited for her to finish.
"…but by that logic, the people who Gill mutates will come to realize just so enjoyable being a mutant can be." noted Camille.
Now that Debutante thought of it, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she grew hair.
She would feel a lot warmer that way. Though being petted by her owner Camille was pretty warm in itself.
Camille went to sleep, thinking of fashion accessories.
"What's wrong?" asked Kim.
"I can't help but shake the feeling that two of our enemies are forming a friendship." noted Ron.
"It wouldn't be the first time. You know what Professor Dementor and Atrosis are like." remarked the cheerleader.
"I know. Those two are crazy...and crazy about each other, too." spoke the blonde boy.
"Yeah. Luckily, due to the fact that we've been gaining allies lately, we can still handle them. Though I will admit that Atrosis's elasticity is an obstacle to get past." remarked Kim.
Sharp objects worked well though.
Suddenly, Wade contacted Kim.
"Hey, Wade. What's the sitch?" asked the girl.
"It's Gill again. Dr. Lurkin decided to contact me about him. He's causing trouble at Camp Wannaweep once more." noted Wade.
"Yeah...is he going to get any new ideas?" questioned Kim. He knew Dr, Drakken and Professor Dementor never seemed to run out of ideas.
Neither did Dr. Doofenshmirtz, but his ideas always involved inators.
"Luckily, Dr. Lurkin seems more prepared this time, so he's setting up curfew rules. Maybe now the campers won't have so much to worry about from him." remarked the boy.
"He really is a smart man." nodded the girl. Though she wondered if he would ever persuade Gil Moss to stop being evil.
"Still, I can't help but feel worried my old childhood buddy (and I'm using buddy very loosely, I might add) might continue causing trouble." answered Ron.
Dr. Lurkin was handling the situation really well, but it might be best if they didn't take any chances.
"If they can keep their heads on straight, I think they can catch him. But just in case, why don't we go there ourselves?" asked the boy at the computer.
"Going to Camp Wannaweep isn't my idea of a good time, but I'll go there for your sake." answered Ron.
"We are dating for a reason." nodded Kim.
Meanwhile, Perry the Platypus was also assigned to Camp Wannaweep.
"Good morning, Agent P. Do you remember Gill? The monster that causes chaos throughout summer camp? I imagine that you would want to do something about him given that your owners enjoy summer camp." noted Major Monogram.
Perry nodded.
Hopefully Dr. Doofenshmirtz won't dump things in the water this time. Especially not when it created a monster.
Well, recreate a monster.
"Given that Gill is basically an amphibian and you're a semi-aquatic mammal of action…well, you seem like an ideal fit for this situation." answered the major.
While Perry never really thought about why he worked for the major, his logic in assigning him tasks was likely part of the reason.
"Good luck out there, Agent P. I don't want you to become a mutant…even if your owners might find that cool." comforted Major Monogram.
Perry the Platypus gave his usual salute.
He then went to Camp Wannaweep.
"I wonder where Perry is." questioned Phineas. It would be nice if he gave them an advance notice before he left every day. Though to be fair, he hardly ever was gone long.
Though he always seemed to miss out on all the things that they did. Did he really want to miss out on the fun? Though to be fair, their parents always seemed to miss out on the fun too. It was kind of sad.
"Your mind does tend to wander when Perry is involved, doesn't it?" asked Ferb.
"Well, for some strange reason, I don't think it would be that hard to find him. I feel like he's headed towards somewhere we've been before." remarked the redhaired boy.
"Want to go back to science camp?" asked the green haired boy.
"Why not? I don't think the scientists will mind us being there." spoke Phineas.
Ferb nodded.
Though they were a bit young to be working with them. They sure were.
Luckily, they had jetpacks.
If made getting around much easier.
Though his family never seemed to notice them, other than Candace.
Would they like them?
Meanwhile…
Dr. Lurkin was sitting on a chair and drinking a smoothie outside.
Gill only hunted at night (predators preferred the night over the day) so he figured that he would be safe during the day.
But just in case, he sent his men to search for Gill.
They had anti-mutagen blasters that they could use against him, and protective suits to protect themselves from the sludge.
It made him feel so happy that he was prepared this time.
Though he himself had an anti-mutagen ray, just in case.
He had heard Gill's evil laughter yesterday night, which unsettled him. But considering he had heard a happy camper laughing afterwards, he felt a lot better. If a camper was so happy, then perhaps the situation was truly under control.
However, he was secretly being monitored nearby.
He was in the woods, so Dr. Lurkin didn't notice him.
"Dr. Lurkin is going to pay for all the humiliation he has put me through. I solemnly swear it." promised Gill.
"Dr. Lurkin? What did he do to you? I appreciate the nice cabin he gave me." remarked Camille.
Though if Gill had a valid reason for hating him, perhaps she shouldn't accept his gifts.
"Good for you, but he read bedtime stories to me like "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." and "The Three Little Pigs." while I was under his care." noted Gill.
"That's revolting!" exclaimed Camille. She wanted to gag.
"I know. That's why I don't openly discuss it." answered the monster.
"So, are you going to walk up to him and subject him to your goo?" asked the woman.
"How'd you know?" questioned Gill.
"It's what you do best." spoke Camille.
"Sure is. Want to see it in action?" asked the monster.
Camille suddenly noticed a man searching for Gill.
"About that…I think you might be putting revenge before reason." questioned the shapeshifter.
"What makes you say that?" asked Gill. It might be simple, but sometimes the simplest solutions worked best.
"There are people hunting for you and you're about to step outside of the woods…in broad daylight, no less." noted Camille.
"It won't be long. I can attack Dr. Lurkin, and then run back into the woods!" exclaimed the monster.
"Possibly. But they do seem to be searching pretty carefully. And any mutagen you put in his body can potentially be reversed before the mutation becomes extreme." noted Camille.
"True…but if you ask me, I should be the hunter! Not the hunted!" exclaimed Gill.
"I can understand that, but the campers you targeted weren't exactly prepared for the situation. But these people searching for you are a different story." noted Camille.
It was a good thing they didn't know she was a mutant as well.
She was already disinherited, and she didn't want to lose her powers too.
"I'm actually feeling scared now…" remarked the monster.
"Good. That means you're smart. And if you're extra smart, you won't let fear override your ability to act. Maybe you should hide until they decide to take a break from the search." suggested the shapeshifter.
"Good idea. But if only I could get my revenge on Dr. Lurkin for what he did to me…." noted Gill.
Suddenly, Camille had an idea.
"Maybe you just might have your revenge after all…" remarked the shapeshifter.
They were expecting Gill, but they weren't expecting her.
She decided to take her leave.
"I wonder where she's going." noted Gill.
As Camille approached Dr. Lurkin…
…she began to transform into Dr. Lurkin.
She then tapped him on the shoulder.
He turned around…
…and gasped.
"I've been cloned!" exclaimed Dr. Lurkin.
"I'm afraid so. And I've got more bad news. You see, I plan on concocting world domination. The world isn't going to be a happy place once I'm done with it. You didn't just create a clone, you created an evil clone." noted Camille.
The man fainted.
"That was almost too easy. I'll be sure to tell Gill so he can laugh about it." remarked the evil genius.
However, she then noticed that the hunters seemed to be headed towards lunch break.
While Gill should probably continue hiding until nightfall, Camille just might be able to give him a present.
So she turned back to normal…and then dragged Dr. Lurkin by the collar into the woods.
A few minutes later…
Gill relaxed in the haunted cabin, waiting for sundown. While he didn't exactly like waiting given how long he had waited to be human again (though he ultimately decided his life was better as a mutant), Camille had caused him to rethink his evil plans. He could probably take down a few of the hunters, but he was outnumbered.
However, his waiting was rewarded…if not quite the way he imagined.
"Hey, Gill. I brought you something." explained Camille.
"What is it?" asked Gill.
Camille brought Dr. Lurkin to Gill.
He realized what had happened.
"You scared Dr. Lurkin so much that he passed out? That's hilarious!" exclaimed Gill.
"Glad you like it." answered Camille.
"Aren't people going to notice he's missing though? They're searching for me, not him, but still!" shouted the mutant.
"Who says they'll notice he's missing?" asked the fashion lover.
Suddenly, Camille shapeshifted into Dr. Lurkin.
"Whew. That's a relief." noted Gill.
Camille shapeshifted back.
"It kind of is. Not only that, but now that I'm the one in charge of your search, I can basically send the people after you on a wild good chase." noted the girl.
"They'll be looking in the wrong places, won't they?" asked Gill.
"Sure will. Although, there is one small problem. What if the real Dr. Lurkin shows up and says I'm an imposter? Granted, he's not a stranger to me, so I don't think it would be too hard for me to keep up the charade. But he's not going to stay unconscious forever." remarked Camille.
"You're right. He's not. But I think I know what to do with him." spoke the mutant.
"You do? Feel free to tell me." said the woman.
"I could tell you, but I think I'll show you." answered Gill.
Suddenly, he vomited his sludge all over Dr. Lurkin.
He had unfortunately not worn protective gear that day. Maybe he would have put it on when the sun went down?
"I could remark that this is disgusting, but I happen to like mud baths. And this actually isn't so different." noted Camille.
Unless you considered the fact that you would turn into a mutant.
"I used to play in the mud, actually." remarked Gill.
"That doesn't surprise me. I take it you're done?" asked the girl.
She imagined it would be over quickly.
"Mm-hmm. If this doesn't mutate Dr. Lurkin, nothing will." spoke the mutant.
Dr. Lurkin indeed changed…into a monkey.
"Why do I find this ironic?" asked Gill.
There was something definitely ironic about it, but he wasn't quite sure what.
"Huh. It's almost as if we…" spoke Camille.
"…made a monkey of him." realized the two of them.
This time, both of them began to laugh hysterically.
One of the mutant hunters overheard the noise, but he figured he was probably losing his marbles. Why would someone want to laugh with Gill, the enemy of everyone in Camp Wannaweep?
Dr. Lurkin woke up, and began searching the woods for food.
"Hmm, what to do next…" spoke Camille.
Perhaps the next thing to do was make it so that Gill could disguise himself to escape the hunters' detection.
But how would she do that?
"It's not like he can shapeshift back and forth between his human and mutant form…unless…" spoke Camille.
She had another idea…
…one that just might work.
"How many good ideas will I come up with?" asked the girl.
She wasn't devoid of bad ideas today.
Meanwhile…
Though they weren't here to speak with friends, Kim gave Ron permission to hang out with Vanessa.
It was entirely possible for a boy to be just friends with a girl, after all. Ron and Monique knew it all too well.
"Hey, Vanessa! I remember you! I thank you from the bottom of the heart for saving this camp…though I will admit I don't have fond memories of this place." noted Ron.
"Normally, I wouldn't come here again, but this is where I met Newt." remarked Vanessa.
"It's nice to know you have one fond memory of this place." spoke the blonde boy. It was a terrible feeling to lose all hope. Kim Possible found that out when she figured out who Erik really was…a backstabber.
"Yeah…I can see why you don't like it, but maybe we can take the good with the bad." said the goth.
"I did legitimately enjoy arts and crafts." noted Ron. Surprising how useful that skill turned out to be.
"Ribbit!" exclaimed Newt.
"What's that? You're afraid of Lake Wannaweep? I thought I was the only one!" shouted Ron.
"Ribbit!" continued the frog.
"Your brother wasn't? Yeah, that sounds very familiar." noted the blonde.
"Hi!" exclaimed Rufus.
"Ribbit ribbit." remarked Newt.
"Huh? We kindred?" asked the naked mole rat.
Momentarily, what the two were saying to each other was translated.
Only they could hear it though.
"Are you saying we're kindred spirits?" asked Rufus.
"I feel that way. Though we are very different animals, I can say that much." noted Newt.
"True. I once met an animal that scares me to this day…" remarked the mole rat.
"Sorry to hear that. I once met an animal that scared me too…though since that animal was my brother, that quickly faded away." spoke the frog.
"I see." nodded Rufus.
"I also met an animal that somewhat baffled me. It was a reptile, similar to me being an amphibian. I've needed water my whole life, but I met an animal that by my standards, hardly needed water at all. Though we did both have large tongues, I can say that much. Salt has always been my nemesis, but this animal could eat salt raw and not feel any adverse effects. And even if the salt got too excessive, it could simply sneeze it out through its nose. And while it could swim, it didn't show any real interest in swimming." noted the frog.
"How interesting." remarked the naked mole rat.
"It also could disappear and reappear. It would be an expert in peekaboo." spoke Newt.
Rufus was very interested.
However, it then occurred to him what this animal might be.
"Was it a chameleon?" asked Rufus.
"Yes, it was. You're a very smart animal." nodded Newt.
"You could pass a high school exam." remarked Rufus.
It was appropriate that Rufus had meant an animal that could scare him, seeing as Gill (who was basically a frogman) had scared Ron. But at least he was brave enough to take him on in the end.
Hopefully someone heroic would save the day like before.
Rufus wondered if it would be Ron…
…while Newt wondered if it would be Vanessa.
But perhaps somebody brand new could save the day.
But who could it be?
Meanwhile…
"This is hopeless! I'm leaving this temple!" exclaimed Monkey Fist.
He would come back later…if at all.
Luckily, he could drive away.
And the monkeys wouldn't drive because the Kimono Twins could.
"Put the peddle…" started Lily.
"…to the metal!" exclaimed Lilac.
"Good one." nodded Monkey Fist.
It seemed appropriate that these two could finish each other's sentences.
He would return to being evil…
…soon.
Feel free to keep reviewing. And yes, this chapter includes foreshadowing. Hope you don't mind.
There's also foreshadowing for another arc I just might write soon.
