I'm afraid things are going to get worse before they get better.
But to be fair, it's nice that two people have formed a friendship.
Even if their names are Camille and Gil.
It's an evil friendship though.
Chapter 40: Water Pollution
As before, Gil and Camille were alone together.
"So, you said you have a present for me?" asked Gill.
"Just a blood sample of mine. I just noticed that you seemed to have a hard time choosing between your human self and your mutant self." noted Camille.
"Yeah?" questioned the boy. It was a bit tricky to make up his mind now that he thought of it.
"Maybe now you won't have to choose." answered the girl.
Gill injected the blood sample…
…and he felt the urge to become human again.
He then shapeshifted into a human.
"Huh. That actually worked. Poppin!" exclaimed Camille.
"You're popping popcorn?" asked Gill.
Popcorn wouldn't be too bad, actually.
"No, I just imagine that you should be able to shapeshift between your human and mutant form now." noted the girl.
Gill transformed back into a mutant. He glowed green when he did so.
It was impressive that it worked.
"I kind of imagine that I would want to stick to my mutant form." answered Gill.
"I understand, but if people think you were back to normal, they just might stop locking their doors at night." answered Camille.
Though he did look a bit scary even as a human.
"I never really thought of it that way." noted the teenage boy.
And if they were unlocked, there would be nothing to stop Gill from sneaking in.
"So, are you going to keep trying to mutate people? You've already got your revenge on Dr. Lurkin." noted Camille. Though she wouldn't mind if Gill thought bigger than just Dr. Lurkin.
"It's true. But to be honest, I kind of want to get my revenge on science camp. It's baffling how they can be so smart and yet so stupid. I feel bad for all the fish that were swimming in that lake." remarked Gill.
"I actually happen to like science. I didn't like it at first, but seeing for myself what it could do, well…I think I might pay the science camp a visit myself. But yeah, that couldn't have been wonderful for the fish." noted Camille.
The two headed to the science camp…
…after ensuring everyone at camp that they were safe.
"Is that Gill? I'm scared!" exclaimed a nerd at science camp.
"Don't worry, everyone. I found Gill myself, and I've reformed him. He won't bother anyone ever again." noted Camille.
"Isn't that what we thought before?" asked one of the clowns at clown camp.
"Maybe. But I promise you, if anything happens, I'll make sure that Gill stays on his best behavior." promised "Dr. Lurkin".
Gill noticed that Camille had her fingers crossed behind her back.
He found it amusing.
"And besides, we've made extra sure he can't mutate again this time. Why do we think we hired our special forces?" asked the girl in disguise.
The campers sighed in relief.
They went back to their cabins.
Camille then changed back.
"So…do you still want revenge on the nerds? To be honest, considering how much you enjoy being a mutant, maybe you shouldn't be so angry at them for mutating you in the first place." noted Camille.
"It's true, but they are simply annoying. I can't be with a room with them for five minutes and not scream." answered Gill.
If he encountered another nerd at science camp, it would be too soon.
"Oh really?" questioned the girl who could shapeshift.
Suddenly, two nerds showed up.
"Hey, man! Want to go to a science convention?" asked one of the nerds.
"Yeah! Space Adventure is the best thing ever!" exclaimed the other nerd.
"Well, Stumbleferry Finkbat isn't so bad either." answered the first nerd.
Camille's eye squinted.
"These nerds are going down…and then reemerging from the water as mutants!" exclaimed the girl.
"Good one." nodded Gill.
The two of them looked for something they could use against the nerds.
"They have their own swimming pool? Well, they have one at fashion camp too." noted Camille.
"Now seems like a golden opportunity." remarked Gill.
When the nerds were busy playing Dragons in the Dungeons, the two of them went to the swimming pool.
"You think you can make enough of the goo to pollute the pool? It's kind of big." questioned Camille.
"I haven't thought of that." answered Gill.
"Maybe it would help if you thought of something gross…like Kim and Ron kissing in a tree." noted the evil blonde.
The mean boy began to gag.
"Huh. That actually seems to be working." remarked Camille.
She decided to look away when Gill polluted the pool with his gunk.
"Looks like you're finished." noted the evil girl.
"Yeah…the problem is…it takes prolonged exposure for my mutagen to work." remarked Gill.
"That is a problem." spoke Camille.
Suddenly, a bit of her sweat went into the pool.
It began to bubble.
"Huh? I think a bit of a sweat went inside there." noted the young woman.
"Camille, your transformations are instant, right?" asked Gill.
"Pretty much. I want to hurry up and transform already so I can commit shoplifting." noted Camille.
"You don't suppose you might have made it so that my slime will work instantly, don't you? It somehow seems stronger than before." remarked the swamp monster.
"Huh. That actually seems possible. My sweat did mix with the sludge, even if it wasn't much." admitted the blonde.
"It's times like this when I'm happy that I'm not trying to conquer Camp Wannaweep alone…" noted Gil. Maybe they could rule over it as king and queen.
"I didn't mind it here to begin with, but to be honest, you've been the best part." admitted Camille.
Her cat was still nervous around Gill, but there might be a way to make her feel better.
However, a certain platypus witnessed the event.
This wasn't good. A swamp monster was indeed in the area.
Though for some reason, he was working with a spoiled teenage girl, who seemed to be a mutant herself.
Unfortunately, he couldn't warn the nerds, because he couldn't talk. But perhaps he could find Rufus.
Something told him he might be in the area, and he could talk. Not much, but it might be enough.
He could still inform Major Monogram of what he had discovered, but he still wanted to work this one with Rufus. He didn't think it was a good idea to fight when it was two against one.
And he liked the naked mole rat. They were both animals that people found weird, and yet people still loved them.
"Well, that's it for the nerds, I suppose. Something tells me they're not going to see this coming. Though for some reason I don't think we should stop here." remarked Camille.
"Is there anybody else you want revenge on? I'd say Kim and Ron. Those two have thwarted my scary evil plans more than once." suggested Gill. Though to be honest, it only felt like they had thwarted his plans twice.
Surely there was something else that was evil that he had come with...
...but he didn't quite remember.
"Huh. I guess we just might both have a score to settle with those two." noted Camille. Though she didn't actually recall being thwarted by Kim and her sidekick that much. Had she not come up with that many evil schemes?
It was a small world, wasn't it? Kim Possible certainly seemed to think so. And both of them had met Kim and her sidekick. And the naked mole rat. Debutante wasn't exactly unhappy about that.
How aggravating it was when Ron told her not to do the crime if you can't do the time.
Oh wait, he got it mixed up, didn't he?
"Yeah. As much fun as it is to mutate people, maybe we should focus on getting revenge on the people that wronged us…from our own perspectives, anyway." noted Gill.
He would love to hear Ron scream.
As a side note, he was pretty happy to have met Camille, even if he did think she was crazy at first. But first impressions were often wrong. And besides, he might be crazy himself.
To be honest, he actually wouldn't mind getting his revenge with her. He considered dealing with Ron himself, but Camille was simply too enjoyable to not hang out with.
After seeing Camille's impression of him, he actually didn't want to go at it alone anymore.
"I'm truly sorry you ended up becoming a monster…who would have thought that the science camp would mutate you?" asked Camille.
Though if he liked being a monster now, maybe being mutated wasn't so bad. Dr. Lurkin seemed determined to make sure that Gill stayed human though.
"Yeah. I actually feel guilty about teasing Ron about it…" remarked the swamp monster. If Ron had done what he did, he probably would have ended up suffering the same fate.
"If you want to bury the hatchet, I suppose I could understand." noted Camille Leon.
"But after he humiliated me so badly by luring me into his trap…I still think I'm going to make him pay." answered Gill.
"Yeah…if I hear him say booyah one more time, I'm going to dunk his head into Lake Wannaweep." remarked the blonde girl.
"Why didn't I think of that?" asked Gill. That actually might have been funny. Though to be fair, the two of them hadn't seen each other often at camp due to the deal that they had made regarding swimming and arts and crafts.
Perry decided to tell Rufus what was going on.
He would want to know.
"Camille? Gill?" asked Rufus.
Perry nodded.
"Perry, is that you? It's good to see you again." noted Kim.
He nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, they heard screaming at the science camp.
Apparently, the nerds had somehow been mutated.
"What happened?" asked Kim.
"We dived into our swimming pool, and then we turned into reptiles!" exclaimed one of the nerds.
"It's kind of cool, but I want to be human again." replied another mutated nerd.
"How did this happen?" asked Ron.
"I think our pool got mutated somehow. It could have been another spill." suggested yet another nerd.
"Or it could be the handiwork of Gill." pointed out Kim.
"I don't get why you decided to swim in that pool for so long. If you had only been in there for a few minutes, you probably wouldn't have mutated." scolded Ron.
"Actually, we were only in the pool for a few minutes." explained a nerd. And yeah, there was a kind of a pattern in this chapter in this story regarding dialogue.
"Wait, really?" asked Ron.
'That's weird, Gill's sludge doesn't usually mutate people this quickly." noted Kim.
She decided to ask Wade if Gill had somehow grown stronger.
"Well, Dr. Lurkin took precautionary measures to prevent Gill from attacking the camp. His curfew rules worked surprisingly well. And he had his team hunt for Gill with anti-mutagen guns." noted Wade.
"Funny, I was under the impression he would be caught by now by that logic." remarked Kim.
"Yeah...he seems smarter than usual. Though he was kind of smart to begin with." noted Ron.
"But I found something else that's interesting. Camille Leon decided to stay at Wannaweep not too long ago. She went to fashion camp." said Wade.
"Not exactly the last place I would look for her. Wait, Camille Leon?" asked Kim.
"Yep. It's her." nodded Wade.
"You don't suppose Camille Leon and Gill are working together, do you?" asked the redhead.
"Why would those two ever want to work together?" questioned Ron.
To him, it simply did not make any sense.
"That's a good question, but we shouldn't rule out any possibilities. I am Kim Possible, after all. Gill is smart, I'll give him that, but I'm not sure how he managed to elude the team when they were searching every nook and cranny of Camp Wannaweep." noted the cheerleader.
In fact, that was what worried her.
How exactly did Gill make it so that the mutagen would work instantly? His mutagen was effective but not this effective.
"How do we find Camille Leon, anyway? She can shapeshift! It sure would be cool if I could do that…even if I did change into a beaver once." remarked Ron.
"Maybe we could try a DNA test?" asked Kim.
Figuring out who the impostor was would allow them to identify Camille.
"Possibly. A side effect of Camille's surgery is that her DNA is a bit…shaky." pointed out Wade.
There just might be a way to expose her.
"That doesn't really surprise me…" noted Ron.
"Won't she be hiding though? We might need a DNA sample from everyone." answered Kim.
"That would likely be the case. Still, it would be helpful if we knew just who we could trust." remarked Wade.
Ron nodded. It seemed plausible that, assuming that Camille Leon and Gill were working together, Camille would want the campers to stop trusting each other. If they didn't trust each other, how could they fight back against Gill?
They needed to work together to find out who the impostor was.
"By the way, you think Dr. Lurkin can get us fixed? He's been acting a bit strange lately. He and Gill have been acting like the best of friends." noted one of the nerds.
"Hmm...we should probably subject "Dr. Lurkin" to Wade's DNA test." suggested Kim.
Perry considered telling them what they saw…
…but to be honest, Kim and Ron were probably going to figure it out by themselves.
A short while later...
"So, why did you want to see us?" asked Dr. Lurkin.
"We just wanted to give you a DNA test." explained Kim.
"Why not? Everything is under control!" exclaimed the scientist.
"What about what happened at the swimming pool at science camp?" asked Ron.
"Oh. Don't worry, we'll get that cleaned up." assured "Dr. Lurkin".
"Can we test your DNA, please?" questioned Kim.
"Fine. If it will make you feel better." nodded "Dr. Lurkin".
He gave them a strand of his hair.
Kim then pulled out a chemical that Wade should they use.
It was used in Camille's experimental plastic surgery.
Suddenly, the hair sample began to change color.
"Ah-ha!" exclaimed Kim.
"Huh?" asked "Dr. Lurkin."
"You're not the real Dr. Lurkin!" shouted the cheerleader.
"Why do I have to be up against a foe that's so clever?" spoke the girl whose color had been blown.
"Dr. Lurkin" changed back into Camille Leon.
"Where's the real Dr. Lurkin?" asked Ron.
"He's roommates with Bobo now. Gill mutated him with his slime, after I made him pass out. answered the blonde.
"You two are twisted!" exclaimed the boy.
"Maybe, but we're working surprisingly well. And on that subject…Gill, now's your chance to shine!" shouted Camille.
Gill suddenly barged in.
He prepared to spew sludge on them…
…only for Ron to spray foam from a fire extinguisher in his mouth.
"We were prepared for that." explained Ron.
Camille and Gill decided to make a break for it, seeing as Gill wouldn't be able to spew sludge for a short while.
But Perry the Platypus stopped them.
"Huh. He's actually surprisingly fashionable for a platypus." noted Camille.
"Why are you working with her, anyway? She backstabbed her friends!" exclaimed Ron.
"He has a pretty good point." noted Kim.
"Camille?" questioned Gill.
"I guess that's kind of true. But I was tired of them being goody two-shoes their whole lives. You're an entirely different story." remarked Camille.
"She can't get me in any more trouble than I already am." noted the bullying boy.
Perry got ready to attack Gill…
…but Camille suddenly grew a really long tongue.
She then used it to grab Perry's leg and toss him at Kim.
"You alright?" asked Kim.
Perry nodded.
The two teenagers ran away.
"I think we might be in trouble here." remarked Kim. Those two should not be left to their own devices. Dr. Lurkin would agree with them.
Hopefully somebody could get Dr. Lurkin fixed. Maybe Dr. Doofenshmirtz if they were lucky.
"I don't get it, why would these two want to work together? They have nothing in common!" exclaimed Ron.
Perry wondered that himself.
Though Ron also noted to himself people did say that about Kim and him sometimes.
"The more I stop to think of it, the more I start to question if that's true." noted Kim.
"Well, I do find both of them to be scary." answered Ron. A shapeshifter and a swamp monster? Both of them would make for a decent horror movie on their own.
"Yeah…not only that, don't they come up with some impressive schemes on their own, as well? Camille Leon managed to steal quite a bit of money using her gift of hers, and her revenge schemes against me wasn't too bad either, regardless of whether I was with Phineas and Ferb or not. And Gill did go out of his way to make sure none of us would escape Camp Wannaweep. And he was the one that invited us to the camp in the first place." noted the girl.
"That is true…" agreed the blonde boy.
"And if those two have decided to put their heads together…then there's no telling what they'll think of next!" realized Kim.
Ron's eyes widened with fear. His girlfriend was right.
They could end up being an even more dangerous team than Drakken and Shego.
"You're right! We need to find those two as soon as possible!" shouted Ron.
The longer they took, the worse things would get.
Gill was dangerous enough on his own, but it seemed having Camille at his side was making him infinitely more dangerous. Though at the same time, it wasn't that unlike his partnership with Kim.
"Yeah…the only problem is, we don't know where they went. Though I suppose Wade could help us with that." remarked Kim Possible.
"Anything that will help us find them is welcome." nodded Ron.
Meanwhile, Gill wondered how Camille's tongue had suddenly grown the way it did.
But it then occurred to him what might be going on.
Could they use it to their advantage?
Meanwhile, at Professor Dementor's base…
Atrosis drove her way to work.
But on the way there, she encountered a bunch of fanboys.
"You are so awesome, Atrosis!" exclaimed a fanboy.
"I don't mind the compliments…but you seem to be showering me with an awful lot of praise for someone who works for an evil scientist that wishes for world domination." noted Atrosis.
"Why is that so hard to remember?" questioned another fanboy.
"Just try not to forget that. If you love me, it's fine." answered the woman.
She knocked on the door, and was allowed in.
"Hey, professor. Can I ask you a question?" asked Atrosis.
"Sure, vhy not. You ask good questions." noted Dementor.
Though he didn't really expect people to question his evil ways.
"Why does Shego have her own theme and I don't? It makes me feel jealous…which is ironic given what color Shego wears." noted Atrosis.
"About zat…you see, in order for you to have your own theme…you have to be a canon character." exclaimed Dementor.
"Aw, man! That's not fair!" shouted the woman.
Being an original character had its downsides, it seems.
Though on the lighter side of things, fans of the fanfic seemed to be fans of her as well.
"Well, maybe you could look online and find a theme that suits you." noted the man.
"Sure, why not." answered Atrosis.
It seemed as good of an idea as any.
She went on the computer and began to look up video game music.
"Hmm, who's this Chauncey? And why he in a game called Luigi's Mansion?" asked the woman. She had never heard of the game, but it sounded spooky.
Maybe she would play it if she bought it.
She decided to listen to the song anyways, remembering to put on some headphones.
"Huh. I think this one suits me perfectly." remarked Atrosis.
She would thank her boss for this later.
Uh-oh! It looks like Camille and Gill are plotting their revenge!
What could they be up to?
This can't be good.
