Home Alone Tonight
A/N: Song fic- Home Alone Tonight by Luke Bryan. Song lyrics: Rory = regular; Tristin = Italics
Pairing: Rory/Tristin
Summary: Rory's at a bar trying to deal after recent break up and seeing her ex at a society party with a new woman on his arm. Tristin is at the same bar trying to get his mind off the blue eyed brunette that plagues his mind when he sees her.
Disclosure: I don't own GG or the song lyrics.
Grandad had mentioned that Rory had been dating Logan Huntzberger for the past couple of years. That broke my heart. His reputation was way worse than mine had ever been at Chilton. I'd heard through the grapevine that he'd proposed to her but that she'd said no. It gave me hope. I'd seen her a few weeks ago at a party that her Grandma had been hosting but I never got the chance to talk to her. She'd looked so beautiful that night. Maybe a drink will help. I walked into the New York bar I tended to frequent whenever the need arose.
I made my way to the bar when I glanced around the room. There she was sitting at a high top table by herself, halfway through a drink. I ordered my drink from the bartender and opened a tab. When I had my first drink in my hand, I made my way over to her table.
What you doin' in this place?
Well, I could probably ask you the same thing.
Another round, girl, what you think?
If you're buying, well, you know I'll drink, some, make it 7&7
Do you want it on the rocks?
A double shot of heaven
Spilling out the top
And we'll go
I made my way back to the bar and ordered her a drink, adding it tab. I also got us some shots. She was clearly trying to forget something. The bartender handed me the drinks and I took them back to her table.
Shot, for shot, for shot
'Til we forgot what we came here to forget
Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop
A night we won't regret
So put your drink down, throw your camera up
Flip it around and snap a payback picture
I'll send it to my ex
I'll send it to my ex
And send them both a text saying
We ain't going home alone tonight
Girl you ain't gotta, I ain't gotta go
Home alone tonight
We downed the shots. Never taking our eyes off each other. She pulled her phone out of her back pocket. Right as she went to take the picture, I pulled her into my side and kissed her with everything that I had. I watched her type something on her phone before she stuck back in her pocket.
Slow country from a cover band
I got you covered if you don't know how to dance
But if you want we could grab a cab
Girl, we got all night, I got a bottomless tab so let's go
I pulled her to the dance floor when a slow song started playing. She made a joke about me not knowing how to dance and I couldn't help but laugh. She said she wanted to get out of there, but I wasn't ready to let her go. It felt so good to have her in my arms. I asked if she wanted another drink, that I had a tab. Surprisingly, she didn't object.
Shot, for shot, for shot
'Til we forgot we came here to forget
Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop
A night we won't regret
So put your drink down, throw your camera up
Flip it around and snap a payback picture
I'll send it to my ex
I'll send it to my ex
And send them both a text saying
We ain't going home alone tonight
Girl you ain't gotta, I ain't gotta go
Home alone tonight
We headed back to the table for something to drink. We took some more pictures. This time she uploaded them to Instagram. This could come back to bite me. But I didn't care. Even if all I got was this night, I was gonna make the best of it. She captioned the pictures 'We ain't going home alone'. It made me smile.
It feels too good to let it end right here
I ain't going home alone tonight
So, let's not let it end, let it end right here
Girl, you're going home with me, let's go
Once again she said that she wanted to get out of there. We both had a buzz so maybe it was time to get out of there. I quickly agreed and went to settle the tab. We grabbed our jackets and headed outside to grab a cab. When we got to my apartment, I pushed her up against the door, the second I closed it crashing my lips to hers. When I pulled back, I could see lust and desire in her eyes. She wanted this just as much as I did. We started pulling each other's clothes off as I pulled her to my bedroom.
Shot, for shot, for shot
'Til we forget what we came here to forget
Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop
A night we won't regret
Put your drink down, throw your camera up
Flip it around and snap a payback picture
I'll send it to my ex
I'll send it to my ex
And them a text saying
We ain't going home alone tonight
Girl you ain't gotta, I ain't gotta go
Home alone tonight
"What were you doing there tonight?" I asked her as we laid in my bed.
"Saw my ex with his new girl at a party my grandmother hosted a few weeks ago. Made it hurt even more that I turned down his proposal and he walked away." She said.
I could understand that. Just like it hurt all those years ago when she walked away from me back to the bag boy. "Do you have any regrets?" I asked, rubbing my fingertips up and down her back while her head laid on my chest.
"About this?" She asked back.
"Mhmm."
"No. I only have two regrets when it comes to you, but this isn't one of them." She said.
"What are they?" I whispered. I wanted to know.
"The day I said I hated you; I lied. I never hated you, quite the opposite actually. And the fact that I didn't kiss you the night of Romeo and Juliet." She said.
"I really wanted to kiss you that night." I told her.
She looked up at me and smiled. "I really wanted you to." She said. She leaned up and kissed me.
Girl you gotta, I ain't gotta go
Home alone tonight
Baby, don't let me go home alone
Home alone tonight.
She was never going home alone ever again.
