It was Charlies first day at a new school. She bounced her leg anxiously as she sat in the principals office. Callie let her drive on the way to school to help her calm her nerves. And it worked temporarily as she blasted her music, feeling the bass in her body. But now she is at school in a quiet office with white walls.

"You'll be fine," Callie tried to reassure her.

"of course," Charlie exhaled.

"hello Ms Perez," he stuck out his hand and Charlie shook it then her turned to Callie to do the same thing. "Dr Torres." He smiled.

"this is mostly for your mom, our tour guide Torie is on her way," The principal said.

She hated when people did that, mistake her foster parents for her real parents. Do get it wrong, she liked Callie, and Arizona and Sofia, but that wasn't her family. Her family is all dead.

"im her foster mom, but it's okay," Callie smiled looking over the paper in front of her.

there was knock on the door before the principal could apologize.

"Principal Richards," The girl asked?

"oh yes, torie langston meet Charlie Perez," He introduced the two. "She'll be taking you on a tour and then showing you to your classes," He explained.

"So this is the gym, and you're not listen," Torie stopped dead in her tracks.

"it's just I'd rather be at my old school," Charlie tried to explain without sounding bitchy.

"I get it them trust fund bitches is crazy but once you know who to say away from you good," Torie explained. "I'm here on scholarship which doesn't include the meal plan so I eat cold lunches, and get stares," Torie sighed.

"oh my foster mom enrolled me here and I just feel like I won't fit in," Charlie explained.

"well I can't change dat but I can bring you to ap psychology," Torie started to walk again.

"okay," Charlie followed behind.

"here is ap psych, and it's so fucking boring but you'll get used to it see you at lunch," Tories said before walking away.

AP Psychology room 112 Mr Holmes she read in the paper to herself. Looking up at the classroom door, she found to courage to walk inside.

"Ohh, you must be my new student, Ms Perez," Mr Holmes announced.

"Yep that's me," Charlie said staring at the chair trying to find an empty one.

"well your welcome to take any seat," He said just as Charlie found an empty one in the back.

She sighed tucking away her phone in her cardigan pocket, and picked up a tray. She looked around at the options salads, lasagna, sandwich, or a wrap. She quickly decided she was in the mood for a salad, she grabbed one of the prepackaged salad a fruit and a milk and went to find somewhere to sit. She stood in the middle of the cafeteria looking around. In the corner of her eye she was Torie waving her over. Charlie didn't want to be a bitch but she didn't need friends she already had them. She sent a smile towards Torie before walking over to the other side of the cafeteria.

"oh that's my seat," A girl tap her on her shoulders.

"I'm sorry I don't see any names," Charlie locked around as if she was trying to find a name on the table.

"there is no name silly me and my boyfriend sit here and have been for the last two years," She told Charlie like it would mean something to her.

"cool find another seat," Charlie said unclamping her pump from her waist band and started to put in the numbers.

"it doesn't work like that," She said grabbing Charlie's tray.

Next thing you know Charlie was sitting with Arizona in the principals office.

"So youre not mad at me," Charlie asked once they got into Arizonas car.

"oh no, I'm pissed like highly pissed but she started so she should get in more trouble," Arizoma explained Turing on the car.

"why are you pissed at me if she started," Charlie wondered.

"because you fell for it you fed into her bullshit she wanted to pick on you and you let her. Now everyone's going to see you as the bad guy trust me," Arizona explained.

"what do you mean trust me," Charlie laughed.

"I used to get into fights all the time, I'm a military kid and we would move a lot. And every time we would move to a new place someone would always pick on me where it was my height, my name, the fact that I was a girl it didn't matter they just did and I would retaliate. I would fight back with my words and my fist but mostly my fist. So one day I took on this guy twice my size I was probably eleven and he messed me up pretty badly but I was proud that I stood up for myself. But once I got home my dad asked me when are you going to stop letting them win, at first I didn't know what he meant but now I do. Do feed in other people bullshit. They wanna pick with you let them, that doesn't make you a pushover or a coward. It just mean you don't want to deal with there bullshit," Arizona gripping the steering wheel hard.

"can I just go back to Douglass," Charlie asked?

Arizona didn't answer she only gripped the steering wheel tighter.

"So what's changed other than the fact that Ms Brown mustache is now thicker," Charlie joked as she ate her pudding.

"nothing really," Daisy smiled.

"well I'm happy to be back," Charlie smiled back.

a guy in a black flannel walked up to them.

"mouse wants to speak with you," He said.

"who's mouse," Charlie asked her friends

"Miguel," they said in unison.

"tell him if he wants to talk come and get me," Charlie turned back to the table re starting the conversation.

a few minutes later Miguel walked in.

"I wanna talk to you," Miguel said interrupting her conversation.

"I know your henchmen made that very clear," Charlie said awkwardly.

"I'm technically not supposed to be on school ground, that's why I sent them," Miguel put his hands in his pockets.

"what happened," Charlie

"if you follow me I'll tell you," Miguel said pointing towards the door.

she got up and followed him outside.

"so ," Charlie

"they caught me with weed in my car, I got my second strike and a months suspension," Miguel explained.

"no not that I wanna know what was so important that you had to risk getting in trouble to see me," Charlie put her hand on her hip.

"can we go to my car, it's cold out here," Miguel asked pointing to the black car across the street.

"sure," Charlie said following him to his car.

"what happened, Miguel you said you would become like them," Charlie bottom lip quivered she tried to stop herself from crying.

"life, if you where in my shoes you'd do the same thing," He tried to reason.

"no, I wouldn't have you know foster care is shit and all but I'm not turning to a gang to protect me," Charlie argued.

"but that's the thing my dad is not dead he's still alive and the only way I can afford a 24 hour nurse is through this," Miguel threw his hand up.

"but that's not true you could work a regular like me, you don't have to do this," Charlie looked at him with sadness in her eyes.

"a lil too late for that," Miguel laughed.

"I love you, but I'm scared I'm going lose you and I can go through what Cortez went through. And Cameron wasn't even apart of a gang," Charlie started to cry.

"hey princesa I'm not going to die so you don't even have to worry about that," Miguel wiped her tears.

"I just got back to town and I'm sorry I lost touch and you might have moved on but I still love and I was wondering if we could date again," Charlie asked?

"why you ask me like," Miguel joked.

"come on," Charlie smacked her lips. "I just put myself out there, yes or no," Charlie whined.

Miguel leaned in putting his hand under her chin and kissed her.

"yes," he pulled back.

the bell rung ending there little piece of happiness.

"oh shit," Charlie rushed out of the car. Miguel grabbed her hand before she could leave.

"text me later," Miguel smirked knowing the answer.

"of course," Charlie smiled wide.

"Someone's in a good mood," Callie said as she got out the car.

"yes I am," Charlie said as she got into the drivers seat.

"wanna tell me why," Callie asked, once she got buckled up.

"I'm finally where I belong," Charlie smiled, then realized what she said. "Oh that sound cheesy ew."

"it's ok to be cheesy you deserve it," Callie said as Charlie pulled off.

"I guess," Charlie smiled at the road.
