They said," All teenagers scare the living shit to of me.
They could care less as long as someone'll bleed"
So darken your clothes or strike a violent pose
Maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me
- Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance)
Arizona woke up on the first day of school ready to go back to sleep. She wasn't ready to face it all. Lexie was right when she said Seattle was all drama. She'd only been here for 2 months and she had already developed a major crush on some. This has to be like a new record for her. Not to be a womanizer but Arizona was a player. She could have any girl she wanted. But it was different here it was different in Seattle. Maybe the weather shift had her mojo off. But she didn't have time to think about it. After Arizona hoped out of the shower she put her hair in two low braided ponytails. And put on a plain white tee with some black pants and her black and white ones that her mom got for her last birthday. She grabbed her black skeleton zip-up jacket and black von Dutch hat she bought with money she saved up this summer.
"Look who's up on time," Barbara calls to Daniel.
"This is new," Daniel said.
"I know I want to make a good first impression," Arizona said.
She grabbed the breakfast burrito left on the kitchen counter for her and put it on a paper plate and add a little bit of tacos sauce on it before grabbing her keys on the counter and putting her backpack on and leaving out the front door. She was met like a shortish brunette behind her front door.
"Gosh Lexie you can't do that," Arizona said almost dropping her burrito.
"I'm sorry," Lexie said with her head down.
"It ok can I help you with something," Arizona said.
"Can I get a ride to school," Lexie asked?
"Yeah sure," Arizona said.
"Thanks my mom's at work and my dad's sleeping and Molly didn't come homing last night so thanks," Lexie said over-sharing Arizona didn't mind it tho.
They got into the pickup truck.
"I didn't think you would own a truck," Lexie said putting her seatbelt on.
"I don't my brothers letting me borrow his will he's deployed," Arizona says pulling out of her driveway.
"Cool," Lexie said.
"Yeah I normally skate everywhere I need to go but I got my license a year ago so might as well use them right," Arizona said steering with one hand and the other with a burrito in hand.
Lexie asked to turn on the radio. Something that Arizona had never touched she was surprised it even worked But it did. So they listen to music for the rest of the ride.
"You made a wrong turn," Lexie said
"No, I didn't," Arizona argued.
"Yes you did Seattle grace is on 46th street," Lexie said.
Arizona look at the street sign sure enough it said 48. She made a quick illegal u-turn after finishing the last bite of her burrito. She turned into the parking lot.
"Dang does all of Seattle go to this school," Arizona asked her social anxiety going through the roof?
"No just about 1,000," Lexie said unbuckling her seat belt.
"1,000," was all Arizona could mutter under her breath.
She muttered but all the courage she had and did a quick prayer even though she only went to church on holidays. She grabbed her backpack and hopped out of the car. Right next to her was a brunette and a blonde on a motorcycle.
The brunette took off her helmet and it was Callie. But she didn't know who the blonde was.
"Hey Arizona," Callie said hopping off her bike hold the helmet under her arm.
"I'm Erica Callie's girl," the skinny short blonde said with a menacing grin.
She was so beautiful how could she compete with that Arizona thought to herself.
"Hey Lexie," Callie said after she was Lexie around the truck.
"Hey, Callie hello Erica," Lexie's words were a bit harsh with the later name.
"Hello Alexandra," Erica said.
Erica hated Lexie. Last year, before she vanished, she got kicked off the cheerleading team for cheating on a biology test and harassment. And she was to head cheerleader. When she heard someone snitch she expected to get suspended from the team for a week or get demoted from head cheerleader but she was completely kicked off the team. After that, she broke up with Callie and left. No one had seen her since.
"It's back to be in Seattle," Erica said randomly said Arizona had never met the girl but she knew girls like her so she prepared herself to her about something she didn't care about.
"Oh I spent the last couple of months traveling," she said." I sent Callie a lot of souvenirs," she pointed to the obviously new keychain accessories on Callie's keychain.
"Well that's nice but I have to figure out where everything in the school is," Arizona said getting ready to leave.
"Oh you're new," Erica asked?
"Yeah," Arizona said.
"You should totally sit with us I want to get to know you," Erica said.
"Erica stop it," Callie whispered
"What if she doesn't want to do it she doesn't have to," Erica argues.
"I'll definitely take you up on your offer," Arizona answered regretting her words as soon as they left her mouth.
Arizona wanted to vomit she was the perfect girl. Great body great hair great skin. She so wanted Callie to be hers but with a girl like that, it's easy to understand why she's still with her. She tried her best to shake the thought of Callie with Erica as she tried the find her first period/homeroom Honors Algebra 2. Arizona must've been looking down because she just bumped into some.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry," Arizona said still not looking up grabbing whatever tissue she could find to clean up the spilled coffee.
"It's Ok probably shouldn't be having this it's like my 3rd cup," the girl said.
"Are you sure," Arizona said finally looking up.
"Yes I'm sure Arizona," Addison said helping Arizona off the ground
"You sound and look like the total mean girl," Arizona said dusting herself off.
"Seriously," Addison said throwing her coffee cup away.
"Yeah and you got the total resting bitch face," Arizona said gesturing to her face.
"Oh," Addison said surprised. "Nobody ever told me," she said
"They were probably too scared too," Arizona said.
"Ok blonde what class do you have right now," Addison asked her?
"Umm I have geometry," Arizona said looking at her schedule.
"That's on the fourth floor I'm in that class too," Addison said earning a weird look from Arizona.
"What I mapped out the school I couldn't get lost on my first how would I get peoples respect if I got lost," Addison told her.
"Fear," mumbled Arizona.
"Come on let's take the elevator," Addison said grabbing Arizona's hand ignoring Arizona's previous comment.
"So how's Seattle been treating you," Addison said after pushing the elevator button trying to make small talk.
"It's been decent," Arizona said giving her a short answer.
"Oh," Addison said sensing Arizona didn't want to do small talk.
The elevator door finally open Arizona was happy, to say the least. Not that she didn't like Addison it's just she didn't know her. Like on a scale of sworn enemy to best friend she was an acquaintance. Of course, Arizona was open to having a close friend type of relationship with Addison she just didn't want to start it on an elevator.
When they walked into the class they got a big whiff of clean products and markers. It's was so strong it made Arizona dizzy. She sat at a desk in the middle of the classroom and Addison sat right next to her. They both knew they were early and didn't expect people to start filing in right behind them. Arizona put her head down to get a little nap on the desk. A few minutes later she heard someone walk in and sit right next to her.
"Jeez you didn't have to leave me," Lexie said setting her tote on the desk.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I was so in my own world I forgot you were with me," Arizona apologized.
"It's true she bumped into made me spill my coffee but it was my third cup so I'm not too mad," Addison joked.
" This is my planning time before school I was gracious enough to let you into my classroom so can you do me a favor and keep your voices down," the tall male teacher asked.
"Yes sir," Arizona said taking a note from Addison sticking her headphones in.
It's was a few more minutes before the rest of the students filled in. The teacher's name was Mr. Warren and he was a cool guy. Arizona's first hour was pretty chill he just handed out a syllabus and they played get-to-know-you games the whole hour.
"What's your next hour," Addison asked?
" English," Arizona said before sticking the syllabus in her backpack.
"Oh I don't have that next hour," Addison said kind of bummed out.
"I don't either but my class is by it," Lexie said.
"Cool so you can walk me there," Arizona asked?
"Yeah," Lexie said getting all her stuff together.
Mr. Warren let them out of class a bit early so they would miss the rush during the transitional times in between the classes. So Arizona waited by the door till all the students filed out. In no time the students walked out of the classroom until no one was there but the teacher. Arizona walked into class and sat in the back. She pulled out her phone and started to scroll through social media as she waited for those 5 minutes to end.
Callie walked into the classroom she was super surprised to see Arizona.
"Hey dimples," Callie said sneaking behind her.
Arizona turned around so fast she think it gave her whiplash.
"You know you can't do that I could have a heart attack," Arizona said over exaggerating.
"Cheer up buttercup," Callie said sliding into the seat next to her.
"Well don't scare me again," Arizona said teasingly.
There was a calming quiet for a moment between them. Callie ruined it.
"I'm sorry about my girlfriend earlier," Callie said rubbing the nape of her neck.
"No worries it's ok," Arizona said with a sad smile.
"Yeah she can just be intense sometimes you don't have to sit with us at lunch," Callie said to her.
"It's ok Callie," Arizona said want to drop the subject.
Not to be jealous but thinking of her with Erica made her almost physically Ill not because she wanted her to be with her forever. But it was because it was Erica she had just met her and knew that Erica wasn't a good fit for Callie.
English went by pretty fast. The teacher just made students do a little introduction in front of the class and when that was over he gave us free time. Callie and Arizona said their goodbyes and went to their next respective class. Arizona got lost twice looking for the next class, AP World History. She was so late she decided to go get a late slip from the office which she got lost on her way to but she got it and she got someone to take her to the class.
"Sorry Mr. Burke," Arizona said as walked into the class sit the note on his desk.
She turned to face the class and saw a familiar face.
"Hey blondie," mark said to Arizona as she sat down.
"Hey Mark," Arizona replied.
"What you do get lost," mark said tease but Arizona's red face said it all.
"Oh you really got lost," Mark said trying to hold in his laughter.
"Sloan do you want to serve a detention and sit on the bench this game," Mr. Burke asked?
Mark shook his head.
"That's what I thought," Mr. Burke said turning to talk to the woman that brought Arizona to her class.
Arizona couldn't help but let out a little snicker.
"Robbins you could join Sloan if you would like," Mr. Burke said not even taking his eyes of the lady.
Arizona slid down in her chair as mark plastered his classic smile on his face.
Since Arizona spent most of the hour looking for the class she had only 15 minutes left. Which went by fast mostly because Arizona used those 15 minutes to rest. Before the end of class, Mr. Burke called her to the front of the class and told her the direction to her next one and let her leave early. And if she had to say that was one of the most embarrassing things she had experienced. She only had 1 more class then she'd have 45 minutes of peace and quiet. Well, at least that's what Arizona thought.
