You stood me up you, lay me down
you know too much, I can't be proud
I still really, really love you, like I do

As Arizona enter the cafeteria it began to overwhelm her. She only came into the lunchroom to get something to eat since she forgot to pack her own lunch. And she couldn't buy anything because she spent most of the money from her summer job on clothes. Her mom made her put the rest in a college fund. She could've just skip it but she didn't want to disappoint anyone. On second thought how would anyone know she didn't eat. It wasn't like she was given a test every day like she did drugs or something. It was too late when this thought came to mind, she was already at the front of the line.
Might as well Arizona thought to herself.
She got a sub and a slushie two of the cheaper things on the menu. It was her turn to pay for her food. She felt as if the whole cafeteria had stopped just to watch her. She began struggling to put her lunch card in the card reader.
"which way," Arizona whispered to herself, frustrated, trying to remember.
"You need help young lady," The lunch lady asked?
"yes ma'am," was all that fell from Arizonas lips.
The women turned her hand with the card in and motion her to put it in. She quickly got her food and left almost forgetting her card too. She made a sharp turn to the right before she heard a voice comparable to nails on a chalkboard.
"Hey Arizona," Erica yelled.
Just Arizonas luck Erica decide to sit by the exit. She thought about making a run for it but that would just embarrass her more than she already was. So she stuck her happy face on and sat down.
"Hey Erica," Arizona said as she sat down.
"Wheres Callie," Arizona asked?
"Oh she's picking up my food I can't eat the food here it's so unhealthy," Erica said as she watched Arizona take a bite of her cafeteria sub.
When Erica said those words she had every intention to make those words poison Arizona's mind. And it worked, for the first time in months Arizona wanted to hurl.
"Oh I normally don't eat this kinda food but I forgot to pack myself lunch," Arizona told her telling a half-truth.
"Why don't you have one of your maids do it for you," Erica Asked.
"I don't have maids," Arizona said gritting every word.
"Oh I just assumed since you know my girlfriend," Erica said putting an emphasis on girlfriend.
Arizona just smiled wanting this whole ordeal to be over. She picked at her sub hoping Callie would come in any minute to save her.
"Hey babe," Callie said kissing Erica on the cheek before sitting down.
"Hey Callie," Arizona said.
"Hey Arizona," Callie said surprised to see the blonde.
"I told you you don't have to sit with us," Callie let Arizona know.
"I know but I wanna make a good impression for your girl friend," Arizona said half telling the truth.
She would much rather be sitting at a table with addison or mark or anyone but just not with these two. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
"So Arizona where'd you grow up," Erica asked leaning over her food acting like she truly wanted to get to know Arizona?
"Um I'm a military brat so everywhere," Arizona said eyeballing the bit mark on the sub she just bit.
"That's nice," Erica said with a fake smile.
"The games this weekend are you coming," Erica asked changing the subject.
"I'm a cheerleader so I kinda have too," Arizona joked looking up.
"Oh well Callie's the running back so I'm going," Erica said putting her arm around Callie pressing a kiss on Callie's cheek.
"I've seen at her practice she's fast," Arizona commented .
"I know," Erica said.
Arizona felt like this wasn't even real life. It was like she was watching herself in a movie. Like one of those mean girl kinda of movies. Better yet it was like she was in Mean Girls but every one was rich. And she didn't come from Africa but Nebraska. And there wasn't an Aaron Samuels but a Callie Torres. She didn't plan on using mean tactics to make Erica's life hell or stealing Callie from her. All she planned on doing was getting through lunch.
After what felt like hours the bell finally rang.
"Oh guess I'll see you later Alaska,"Erica said.
"It's Arizona," She corrected her but Erica was already out the door with her friends.
"I'm sorry about her she didn't do this to my other friends," Callie said using the f-word again.
"It's ok," Arizona said before turning to leave the cafeteria.
The rest of the week went smooth for Arizona. She only got lost one time that week. The fourth floor bathroom was out of order. So she used the third floor bathroom ,one she was familiar with. She had no trouble finding it but it's was getting back to class that got her. It's safe to say she didn't return to class that day. But at least she knows how to get to the gym without leaving the school building.
"Why is this school building so big," Arizona asked Lexie as she got in the car.
They developed a little routine. They would alternate days of driving each other to school. So someday Lexie would drive them in her dads car, just till hers got fixed. And some days Arizona would drive them.
"Because there's a lot of kids that go here," Lexie answered putting her seatbelt on.
"I got lost getting back to class," Arizona admits.
"How," Lexie questioned?
"The fourth floor bathroom was out of order so I used the third floor one but I didn't know how to get back so I just tried my best to remember how I got there. But that didn't work because I ended up in schools gym. ," Arizona explained.
"Oh it's ok you'll get the hang of it eventually," Lexie said whispering the last part.
"I hope so," Arizona said leaning her head against the window.
