Unlike Calliope promised to do. Her and Erica walked hand in hand. Mark pulled her to the side

"I thought you where going to break up with her," mark said grabbing Callie's arm

"Yeah but we worked it out," Callie said trying not to show her pain.

"You ok I didn't mean to grab you that hard," mark asked

"Yeah I am it's just her grandma is sick and she needs someone," Callie said.

"Well you don't have to be that person cal she isn't good for you," mark explained.

"She was going through something," Callie gave her excuse.

"That doesn't give her the excuse to take out her frustration on you," mark let's her know.

"Well it was my fault if I was just more patient she wouldn't have slapped me," Callie said.

"What?" Mark is confused.

"Hell I would've slapped me if I was her," Callie jokes.

"That's not ok," mark said.

"Yeah ok I have to get to class," Callie said moving past him.

Callie walked away leaving Mark stunned. Why would she stay with this girl. She has girls lining up for her.

Arizona wondered why Callie wore long sleeves. As far as she knew Callie didn't like long sleeves she wore them when fashionablely necessary. It was September in Seattle but it wasn't cold enough for leather jackets over turtle necks. Maybe Arizona was just more acclimated to colder climates she didn't want to think to deeply than she already had.

"Hey dimples," Callie said sneak up behind her.

"Is this going to become a thing," Arizona asked.

"What?" Callie said confused.

"This, you sneaking up on me in English and scaring the life out of me," Arizona complained.

"Ion know maybe," Callie teased. This made Arizona smile.

"If I get to see these dimples then maybe," Callie said grabbing Arizonas cheek like a grandma.

"Stop it," Arizona said swatting at her.

"Hello class," The teacher ,who's name Arizona forgot, interrupted their little banter.

The teacher just talk about the first essay, the first one of the year. The essay was about new beginnings. Arizona was well versed in the realm of new beginnings. She was always the new kid. And always the bullies kid but, with a name like Arizona you learn to fight back. As the teacher neared the end of his speech, Arizona looked at the clock. The red neon numbers read 10:10, meaning she had about 20 minutes to start her essay. She pull out her laptop, thinking of how to start the piece. She fiddled with her fingers staring at the blank screen.

"So what do plan on writing this about," Callie asked as she turned the chair around to straddle it?

"Probably about being a military brat and how I was always the new," Arizona told her, with out looking up.

"Oh I was going to write something about New Years resolution and how no one keeps them," Callie shrugs.

"Not true I keep them," Arizona argued.

"Do tell," Callie prompted.

"When I was 6 on New Years I said when I turn 7 I'll cut my hair like Tim it didn't help with the bullying thing," Arizona explained.

"Who's Tim," Callie asked?

"My brother he's deployed but he's coming back in a few months and going to work a job out on a base around here,"Arizona explained.

"Oh cool, do you wanna be in the military".

"Nah I want to be a writer or a doctor".

"Why"

"Cuz I've always loved to read ion know, and I want to help people too,"Arizona answered, typing on the computer in front of her.

"Cool," Callie said, awkwardly.

"So what do you wanna be," Arizona asked?

"Ion know yet, my dad wants me to take over the company when he retires, Aria's in law school. So he needs me to take over, but ion know. Maybe a singer, or a doctor. I've never really thought," Callie said, laying her head on Arizona's desk.

"Cool," Arizona said, uninterested.

"Ughh," Callie sighed turning around, opening up the laptop.

"Ughh," Callie sighed louder with a lip smack.

"Ughh," Callie shaked her body reminiscent of a toddler in the beginning stages of a tantrum.

"Ok what do you want," Arizona said, finally give the girl the attention she so desperately needed.

"Will you help me," Callie asked, with big puppy dog eyes?

"Sure," Arizona said, closing her laptop.

"Thanks," Callie said.

"I'll be at your house at 5:00 be their," Arizona said swing her backpack over her shoulder.

"Alright," Callie said, right as the bell rung.

The day went as smooth as it normally was for Arizona. Except when she went to the bathroom during lunch one of the drug dealers at the school tried to sell her oxy, and they really pushed.

But now Arizona was standing in the corridor of the enormous mansion she spent the weekend at.

"I'm here for Callie," Arizona told the maid.

"Ms. Torres is in her room," the women told her.

"Thanks," Arizona said, running up the spiral stair case.

"Callie, open up," Arizona said knocking on the door.

"Just a minute," Callie said, followed the sound of shuffling feet.

"Hey," Arizona greeted the clearly distraught girl.

"Whats up," Callie greeted Arizona.

"I'm good, what about you," Arizona said walking into the room.

"I'm pretty great," Callie said with a smile.

But her glistening eyes said other wise. It was funny, no matter how hard the girl tried to hid her true feelings her body always managed to betray her.

"You know you can talk to me," Arizona said, pulling Callie out of the thoughts.

"I'm fine," Callie lied.

Maybe if she repeated to herself it would become true.

"I'm fine," Callie repeated.

"Alright, then why don't we gets started," Arizona said, pulling her laptop out of her backpack.

"Ok," Callie said sitting next to the girl on her bed.

"So what did you plan on writing the essay about," Arizona asked, leaning back with the laptop in her lap?

"Um I don't know," Callie said, looking down at the keys on her laptop.

"Well the prompt was new beginnings," Arizona told her, trying to inspire some ideas.

"Umm, I moved a lot as a kid," Callie said.

"Well tell me about that," Arizona queried?

"Um my dad owns a hotel company so till I was 10 I was homeschool then my dad moved his head quarters from Miami to Seattle and I've been here ever since," Callie spoke.

"So what about that New Years idea you had in class," Arizona asked?

"What about it," Callie questioned?

"How about you write your essay on that," Arizona suggested.

"Sure," Callie agreed.

"Are you ok," Arizona asked?

"Yeah , I am why," Callie acted confused.

"You haven't been acting like yourself," Arizona said.

"Well you don't know me that well," Callie interjected.

Before Arizona even had the chance to object Callie phone rung. Callie answered the phone making a beeline for the bathroom. Arizona waited a few seconds before giving in and putting her ear to the door.

"Yes someone's over, we're working on a essay," Callie explained.

"No it's ok I'll ask her to leave," Callie tried to assure her.

"No don't come in," Callie asked.

"I'll make her leave please don't," Callie begged.

Callie wiped the tears off her face. She knew what was coming next after Erica hung up.

Arizona quickly removed herself from the other side of the door. Trying to make it seem as if she wasn't just eavesdropping.

"Umm you should leave," Callie said.

"Why," Arizona questioned?

Before Callie could answer, the question answered itself.

"So this is who you're cheating on me with," Erica fumed.

"It's not like that," Arizona interjected.

"Shut up slut," Erica barked. "Let me see your phone."

"What no," Callie objected.

"If you're not cheating you should have nothing to hide," Erica insisted.

Arizona just stood watching from the side line with wide eyes.

"I'm not but I want a piece of privacy because I know you wouldn't let me check yours," Callie defended.

"Well I'm not the cheater," Erica said.

"Yes you are."

"I'm not."

"Sophomore year, you got caught with picture proof."

"I thought we where over this."

"No you can't be trusted and you accuse me of cheating."

"Because it seems to me you are."

"I don't even know why I put up with you."

"Because no one will ever love you if they knew the truth."

"Shut up."

"I'm the only one will to put with you."

"You are an awful person."

"You take that back," Erica said.

"Oh so you get to talk shit but I can't."

"Because you deserve it."

"And what if I don't take it back. Because you are an awful person and a bitch. And I'm breaking up with you."

Slap

"Get out," Callie demanded.

"No," Erica persisted.

This time Callie caught her hand.

"I won't let you hit me again," Callie said.

"Now get out and never come back and I will be filing a restraining order," Callie said ushering Erica to the door.

"Are you ok," Arizona asked once Erica was out of the door.

Callie just shook her head sobbing.

"Come her,"Arizona said ushering her to bed. What she said was far from the truth. You are loved by many I just wanted to let you know. Because I think you believed her for a second but it's not true."

"You don't have to say anything I know you heard me."

"Take as much time as you need," As cliche as it sounded it was true Arizona wasn't going anywhere.

They sat I'm silence only interrupted by the crying of thunder happening outside. Callie eventually fell asleep on Arizona chest. She didn't want to leave but it was getting late. She tried to slip from under the goddess laying on top of her.

"Sorry," Arizona whispered, not trying to wake the beautiful girl.

Callie only stirred repositioning herself for maximum comfort. Arizona decided to just write a note explaining where she had gone not to worry the girl.

"Sleep well," Arizona whispered giving her a kiss on the forehead before leaving the house.

Arizona left with her mind clouded, tunnel vision. Callie was all she could think about. Not like it wasn't normal for Arizona. But she was worried for her.
