What if, Remus had been forbidden to approach Harry while he was in the muggle world? What if he had many questions that were never answered because of what he was… what if he never truly believed Sirius to be guilty…How different would everything be if Remus gets involve in Harry's life a lot sooner?

Remus was nervous, he was dreading what he was about to do. He was walking up to Hogwarts cheering on himself, he had made in appointment with Dumbledore to discuss something he had been forbidden to ask about for almost ten years. Harry

Remus had many questions after the war. Why had Sirius betrayed them? What happened to Peter, what would be of Harry? But no one answered him. The Order had immediately disintegrated after the war and some of them were killed weeks after Voldemort's death. The only one that would have helped him was Frank and he had been gone before he could even speak with him.

Dumbledore and Crouch had assured him Sirius had confessed. Dumbledore even said his hands had been tied but he knew, the headmaster had stopped trusting Sirius the moment his brother had disappear, to many rumors of the next Black Heir taking the mark. Crouch had not even bothered; Bartemius Crouch didn't lower himself to the likes of Werewolves. But something about his friends Betrayal didn't add up, he did what he could about Sirius but the prisoners from Azkaban couldn't get visits, unless you were well connected, which he wasn't.

Remus had asked about Harry, he wanted to stay in his nephews life, not raise him he knew he couldn't do that, but he wanted to help him and talk to him about his parents, especially after McGonagall had told him where Harry was living, unfortunately the only time he had been able to see Harry had been when he was Five years old. With all the werewolf laws he had to leave England multiple times.

Thankfully he found nice muggles along the way.

Now here he was on his way to the headmaster's office. McGonagall had owl him that Harry received over 20 letters in the last two days and no one had answered yet.

Remus arrived to the gargoyle –"Chocolate Frog"—He walked up the stair and knock on the door.

Dumbledore was sitting on his desk, Fawkes close by.

"Good Morning Remus."

"Headmaster is nice to see you"

Albus smiled. –"I can say the same; I'm surprise to hear from you outside from Christmas. I didn't know you were in England."

"I came back a few weeks ago. I came back for Harry"—Remus said getting to the point. He was on a hurry; the sooner he got this conversation out of the way the better.

Albus sigh—"Remus, Harry is with his Aunt and Uncle…"

Remus stopped Dumbledore, he owed his life to him, the men had given him a one in a million opportunity by allowing him into the school, but he had also meet a different Dumbledore during the war, he knew the men could be calculated and though he didn't mean bad, he was Albus Dumbledore and he believed he had all the answers.

"Albus, I have been patient, you dragged Harry to a house Lily said she never wanted him in, and I…"—Remus pause choosing his words carefully. –"I didn't fight because you gave me proof of the blood wards. But it's been ten years, he turns eleven in three days he will be here come September, he needs me. Who is going to explain to him why people stare at him?"

"Petunia must have done it by now"

"Petunia used to call Lily a freak, Harry isn't receiving his letters."

Albus leaned back and a small smile on his face.—"Minerva, always had a soft spot for you boys"

Remus relaxed. Dumbledore didn't sound angry he could still win this.—"Yes, she informed me and we are concerned. I want to deliver his letter given Petunia knows me. I will be taking him to Diagon alley…"

"Harry well need looking after Remus, you can't just take him, what would you do if he decides that he wants to leave with you, what will you say?"

Ah! Remus thought, that's what this was about.

"He can't visit? He's been living with her for ten years and a few days with me will be enough to break the wards?"—Dumbledore looked at him half annoyed half resigned. That's right Albus I came prepared, I was always the smarter Marauder.

"Of course not, I'm sure if both of you bond, Harry could stay a few weeks with you after he first spends some time at home. But Harry needs to be safe Remus, you know how many Death eaters got away, a lot of them are waiting for an opportunity. That means a house with full protective Wards, a boy his age grows fast he will need clothes, care and you still have to worry about the full moon."

Remus smiled politely at Dumbledore. This was one of the many things that made him change his blind admiration into simple Respect. Dumbledore liked to use your misfortunes against you.

"Don't worry about that. Harry is my priority Albus. I have come into in inheritance, a muggle relation I made in my travels; they left me some income that I have invested wisely in the muggle world. I have a nice house in Kielder forest park. The property is big enough and hidden enough he could fly his broom and no one would know he's there. I plan on adding a small wooden area for my transformation, I have been taking wolfsbane since it came out, I am no longer a danger to anyone, yet I still keep my transformations inside. But if Harry is home, I could always go outside or he could go back to Petunia for the night"

Albus looked contrite; Remus knew he hadn't expected that. He hoped Remus was still as poor as the day he left.

–"You are more than welcome to come and add your own Wards if you wish."—

Dumbledore looked pensive, he knew he had lost a battle, Remus didn't understand the implications of what was at risk. But he was cornered, he had no right to Harry other than as a headmaster, Petunia will give him up immediately and Harry will soon trust Remus with his whole life, that's just who Remus was. Minerva will align with Remus, she had never been happy about where Harry was living… he took a deep breath.—"I don't have any authority to tell you no Remus, I just want to advice you, Harry must return to Petunia for a few weeks every summer for the wards to work. Voldemort isn't gone; he's waiting for an opportunity."

"What could he possibly be waiting for; he's had many years…"

"Harry, Remus, I can't tell you much now, but Voldemort well never forget it was a child who destroyed him. Be alert and it's of importance for people to believe Harry is still living with his aunt and uncle."

Remus nodded.—"Very well, I will make sure."—Remus stood up; he dismissed himself before Dumbledore asked more of him. –"I appreciate you listening, and I meant what I said about visiting."

Albus smiled at the young men in front of him. A few years ago he had looked pale, sad and shabby but he was looking rather well now, perhaps he really was doing better. –"I might do. It was nice seeing you Remus. Please inform me when Harry is with you"

Remus had just apparated into little whinging. The last time he had been here he was leaving to Africa. He walked down the street to Petunias house. The house looked exactly as it did five years ago. He knocked and waited for someone to open. He was not expecting Harry to be the one. He couldn't help the smile spreading in his face.

Harry looked startled. Remus inwardly flinch, his scars…he tried to keep the smile on his face.—"Good morning, is your aunt home?"

"Um, yes I well go get her"—Harry said, leaving the door wide open. He heard Harry telling petunia someone was at the door. Petunia came to the hallway with a smile on her face that faded when she saw him. Remus smiled bigger at that.

"Good Morning Petunia. I wish to speak with your husband and you…in private"—Remus added looking at Harry who was staring back with curiosity.

"YOU! Leave, we don't want people like you here"—she shrieked, Vernon Dursley yelling who it was.

"They won't stop."—He said referring to the letters. Vernon Dursley appeared at the end of the hallway.

Vernon pushed Harry inside by the neck and closed the door. Remus glared at him. –Who are you? What do you want?"— The fat man yelled at him

"My name is Remus Lupin and I have come to deliver a letter."

Vernon turned purple. –"When that old man came and left him in our doorstep, we swore the freakiness would be over. Leave us alone!"

Remus took a deep breath, this was going to be more difficult than he thought, and apparently Petunia had never explained anything to Harry. How this woman had been her best friend's sister was an enigma to him.

"I will leave as soon as I deliver the letter and discuss certain things with you. We can do it here in front of the neighbors or you can invite me in like the good hosts I imagine you must be." - At the end of the sentence, Remus had already entered and closed the door. His head was starting to ache and he was starting to get angry, he didn't even want to know what kind of life Harry had had inside these walls.

Vernon seemed ready to get physical with Remus but Petunia stopped him and whispered something in his ear which made Vernon just glare at Remus and nodded. He opened the door and found two children listening at the door.

"Dudley go with your friends"— he said to what Remus thought was Harry's Cousin.

"Why?"

"Don't ask questions, go tell Mrs. Polkiss you really want to play with Piers and when you get back we can go get ice cream."—Dudley quickly nodded and left the house looking at Remus with the same distaste as his dad.

"Boy! Go and sit on the couch."

Remus didn't like the tone in which Vernon spoke to Harry, but didn't say anything.

He waited for everyone to be seated and turned to Harry, he had been waiting for this opportunity for years and realized that it was not going to be as he thought. Harry looked scared, this little boy had done one of the strongest events of accidental magic he had ever seen and now he knew nothing about it.

"Harry, my name is Remus Lupin. I'm friends with your mom and dad."-

At the boy's expression, Remus's heart contracted further. -"I know you're going to have many questions for me, but I ask you to save them for last."-For this he turned to Petunia.—"Dumbledore told me that he left you a letter explaining the situation Harry finds himself in."

Petunia nodded with a stiff neck.

"Harry, I'm here to give you this." –Remus extended his hand, handing the letter to Harry, who's eyes widened. He grabbed it with a trembling hand and glanced at his aunt and uncle thinking that they were going to snatch it out of his hand.

"Before you open it, I want to explain something to you." –Harry stared at him carefully

"The world we live in is not what you think; there is a hidden world, a magical world."

"Magic does not exist"—Harry said quickly looking at his uncle with fear

Remus turned to Vernon and very carefully replied to Harry without taking his eyes off Vernon—"Magic exist Harry, there are people who are born with it. Your parents were one of them and, therefore, you too, your mother was a witch and your aunt knows it."

Harry stared at his aunt as if waiting for an answer, but she didn't even look at him. Vernon was the one who answered.—"Her mother was a freak just like his father."-

Remus stood up for a moment and took out his wand pointing it at Vernon's chest who shrieked and tried to hide, Petunia screamed and got up from the furniture. Harry stared at the wand and cocked his neck to the side, curious rather than scared.

"Lily and James Potter died with honor and I'm not going to let two people like you speak ill of them." –Remus took a breath and looked at Harry. The wand still pointed at Vernon's chest.

"That letter, Harry, is your acceptance Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry your parents attended. There are many things I have to explain to you, but now is not the time." Remus put his wand away and sat down.—"why don't you open your letter." Remus smiled at him.

Harry opened the letter and reread it several times, and suddenly he couldn't help but smile and say—"This explains a lot."

Remus chuckled-"I guess it does."

"But where will I buy all this, they"— Harry paused, his uncle seemed to be shouting, but not a sound came from him and his aunt stood staring at the letter in disgust.-"I don't think they're going to buy me any of this"

"Of course not. We wouldn't spend a dime on you."

Remus glared at her and she glared back. — "That's why I'm here. I know you don't know me, that I'm a stranger, but the school usually sends a teacher to take you to Diagon Alley and help you with your books and choose your wand. I have a little saved money and would like to accompany you. Actually I would like you to spend the rest of the summer with me, since there is information you need to know about the wizarding world."

"Take him away, get rid of him. We never ask for him"

Harry got up angrily and yelled at him— "You don't even know him, you don't even know if he's telling the truth. And you're willing to let him take me just like that..."— Harry turned to him and said— "It's not that I don't believe you, but well in school they teach us not to go with strangers"

Remus laughed— "I'd be a little worried if you weren't aware of the danger. But actually if I'd like to spend time with you, maybe talk to you about your parents. I can come on your birthday."

"No!" –Harry said forcefully trying not to react that the man in front of him knew when his birthday was-"let's go right now, the letter says that classes start on September 1st, I can stay with you until then, I know how to cook, clean and garden..."

"Harry, Harry easy. If you want to go with me for the rest of the summer that's fine, I just want you to be comfortable."

The silencing spell had worn off on Vernon—"If he leaves, he's gone forever."

"Unfortunately he can't."

Harry looked at him with sadness and betrayal.

"I'm sorry Harry, but there is a reason why you are here. There is a blood spell that protects you, your aunt is your only blood relative and you must return here, next summer for a few days. Your aunt"- Remus pointed out firmly, "knows very well."

"Protect me?"

Remus knew that this would be a long explanation and from the look on Petunia's face he knew she hadn't told him that either, so he decided it was time to go. –"Harry, why don't you go pack, remember you won't be back until next summer, I have something to talk to your aunt."— Remus held out a small carry-on bag and Harry looked at him strangely. –"Magic"-The boy smiled and ran out the door. Remus turned to the Dursleys who tried to speak.

"I don't want to know anything; Harry will tell me when he wants to. Like I said, Harry's due back next year, believe me if I could keep him all summer I would, but his safety comes first. I'll be back after Harry has gone to Hogwarts, by then he will have told me how much he has suffered in this house and we will negotiate then."—Remus glared at him, his eyes changing color. The full moon had been three days ago.

He got up, walked towards the door and bumped into Harry inside the cupboard. –"Harry, what are you looking for?"

"My things"— the boy had already stand up and Remus could see a small cot. His blood boiled—"Harry is this where you sleep?"

Harry shrugged and said no problem, he didn't need much space, but Remus didn't hear him and walked back into the room where he pointed his wand at Vernon and said "Anteoculatia."— Remus turned back to Harry who jumped at Petunia's scream and Remus smiled at him, -"ready?"

Harry looked towards the room where his aunt and uncle were and the front door. With a firm nod he walked towards the door, thinking that anything was better than here and hoped Remus was a good person.

Remus led Harry out of the house and they walked in silence towards an alley. Remus was happy, who could break into a song of the fact Harry was him finally; he wanted to hug the boy but contained himself. At the same time he was alarmed that Harry had just agreed to leave his home with a strange men— "Alright Harry, to get to my house we have to Apparate. You can grab my elbow, close your eyes and just let the feeling carry you. Ok."

Harry spat but nodded. He took Remus by the elbow and waited for the sensation, which he hated immediately, but his brain told him that if he moved, it would hurt more. He suddenly hit the ground and when he opened his eyes, everything was spinning, he only had time to let go of Remus and vomit on the side.

Remus cursed. –"Sorry Harry, but apparition was faster."

Harry nodded—"Do you always travel like that. You don't own a car?"

"Wizards don't use cars. It's faster and you can travel long distance."

Harry nodded; he turned around and realized they were in front of a cottage. It looked bigger then private drive; it was similar to those houses Aunt Petunia always talked about.

"Welcome to Lupins Cottage."

Remus led him into the house. Harrys eyes widen, the house looked even bigger in the inside. Remus smiled—"If you add subtle changes to the outside you can change it with magic in the inside."-

The cottage opened to a big living room with a dinner room a small wall separated the kitchen that had a small table. The kitchen had a glass door; Harry looked through it and realized the property extended even more into the forest. Next to the Glass door there was huge fire place that could fit Remus entirely. Harry laughed—"That's big"

"It's for the Floo, wizarding transportation, we get into the fire and with the floo powder"—He pointed at the powder next to the fire place –"You say your destination and if their fire place is connected you're there"

Harrys face made Remus laugh, the poor boy looked so confuse.

"How…how far can you go?"

"Any were in Britain. To leave the country you need a portkey"

Remus finished showing him the house. That consisted of a small office with a few bookshelves, the second floor with two bedrooms and the third floor that was a transformed attic. The attic was quite big; it had a master bed a few lamps, bookshelves and a big triangle window.

–"This is your room."

Harry looked surprise at this. —"Mine?"

Remus tried to not show sadness—"Of course, it has a closet and the bathroom is down the hall, is not that big but it gives you privacy."

Harry nodded but he looked quite lost, privacy? –He thought— he has never had that. Remus gave him a pat in the shoulder and immediately stopped when he felt Harry tense. He frowned, his memories taking him back to Sirius doing that and didn't like what it meant.

"I will give you some privacy."

Harry nodded and waited until he heard the door close to take a deep breath. All of this was happening to fast. He was in a house, with a strange man that actually felt he had meet before, he had seen pictures all over the house of himself, though he knew it wasn't him, so it might be his father. He had his own room, magic was real…-"Get it together Harry, you're out of the Dursley and Remus seems like a nice guy."

With that motivation Harry walked down the stairs and found Remus doing sandwiches with crisps. He served him a big glass of orange juice. They ate in silence, both still thinking of the events of the day, Remus asked him if he had any questions.

Harry nodded but he had been told many times to not ask questions, and he didn't know how Remus would react.

"Harry, I will not get angry if you ask a thousand questions. I would have them too if my life had change so drastically."

"I would like to know about my mom and dad"

Remus smiled sadly.

"Of course, what has Petunia told you about them?"

—"Umm, well I know their names are Lily and James Potter and um Mom had red hair"—Harry paused he didn't know if he should say the rest. He no longer knew what was true or not—"She said that they…weredrunksthatdiedinacarcrash"—He said quickly.

Remus blanked if it weren't for his sensitive hearing he wouldn't have heard Harry. His hands bundle in fists. He tried to take a deep breath to control his anger.

"Harry that is a lie, your mom was one of the best students of our generation. She graduate second in academic level and after school she study mastery in charms and potions to become in unspeakable. Your dad was brilliant"—Remus smiled

–"He was in the top ten and after school he went to be in Auror, dark wizard catchers in the muggle world they are the equivalent of Detectives or being in MI6."—Remus finished with passion, of all the things he thought he would have to do, defending Lily and James was not one of them. Petunia didn't know what would happen to her once Harry went to school.

Harry took it all in. Now having more questions, he took a deep breath and just let it all out

"Ok, What is the muggle world, what is an unspeakable, dad sounds awesome, and well then, they didn't die in a car accident did they?"

"Muggle means people without magic, an unspeakable is a wizard that works in our ministry of magic and does experiments in many things, their jobs are top secret and they rarely talk about it. TSM is the code for Top secret magic event and if that code is applied to something then it's immediately forbidden."

Harrys mouth hang opened—"Mom did this?"

"She was learning, yes. She was magically powerful so was your dad"—Remus paused he had been thinking all day, how was he going to address the Voldemort thing.—"Let's move to the living room I have to tell you something."

"More?"—Harry said concerned realizing his tone. They walked to the couch; Remus sat down next to Him and started speaking.

"You go to Hogwarts for seven years, your father and I alongside, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew we became friends we called ourselves the Marauders. We pranked everyone we didn't like, caused mischief, we were popular and sometimes it went to our heads."—Harry wrinkled his nose at that.

"Your mom was very different from us; she and I didn't become friends until third year and your father and her until the summer before sixth year. She was a dedicated student, kind, sarcastic, brilliant, beautiful and though she never really admitted she thought too much of herself."—Remus chuckled and smiled when he saw Harry paying attention with a small sparkle in his eyes.

"There are many adventures that I could talk to you about but it's better if we get the heavy stuff out of the way. While we were in school the magical world was going through a war. A dark wizard name Voldemort started rising, he wanted to segregate the magical world. Only pureblood wizards were deemed worthy in his eyes."

Harry frowned—"Purebloods?"

"Yes, you have to understand Harry, there are wizard who hate Muggles they see them as animals, and Voldemort was one of them. Purebloods are wizards who have never married a muggle or half-blood, to be a pureblood sometimes you have to marry family members, there's lot of inbreeding in pureblood wizards."

"That's disgusting and isn't that wrong for health reason?"—Harry tilted his head remembering something he read in the doctor's waiting room.

"Yes, some purebloods have suffered the consequences. Then we have Half-bloods and muggle born. You and I are half-blood, both of our fathers were purebloods, my mom was a muggle yours was a Muggleborn."

"Dad was pureblood?"—Harry said with a slight disgust, making Remus laugh.

"He was, your grandmother Euphemia Black and your grandfather Fleamont Potter were distant cousins, though the Potters are known Blood-traitors."

"Because we don't support purebloods …"

Remus hummed, happy Harry tried to understand, it would make it easier. — "Exactly."

"What happened with this Voldemort?"

"He created a small army, they were called Death eater's purebloods that hid beneath a mask and murdered people, anyone who they deemed unworthy. The headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore is one of the most powerful wizards to still be alive and he formed his own army he called it the Order of the phoenix. Your parents, me, Sirius and many others, we fought against Voldemort."

"Mom and Dad were soldiers?"

Remus shook his head up and down—"We were all soldiers. During our school years, Voldemort became stronger, we would read about his attacks through the paper and through our family we would hear rumors about weird things in the ministry. Sirius family was a Voldemort supporter and through him and others we knew who was joining. When it was time for him to choose he ended up living with your father."

"Choose? You went to school with these people?"

"We joined the Order and some joined the death eaters, it was dangerous times, Harry."

Harry didn't know what to say. He was in shock. There was a lot of going on in his head. It was starting to hurt. The more Remus talked, the more he could remember this green light –"He killed them. Didn't he? Voldemort killed my parents"

"Yes"— Remus murmured sadly, this was taking a lot of him, he had allowed himself to think about his friends from time to time. But speaking of them so detailed was becoming too much, he didn't want to break in front of Harry. His voice crack a little when he started speaking again.

"After we graduated we all joined the Order, your father and Sirius went to join the Aurors I started doing missions for Dumbledore. Life kept going, my mom died, your grandparents. Their deaths were difficult on us. Then, soon after, your mom found out that she was pregnant with you. And then everything got worse. There was no one to trust, the Order members were being targeted. We found out there was a spy, we lost the McKinnon's, the Bones, and one day Dumbledore told your parents Voldemort was looking for them."

Harry was looking at his hands, he was frowning. A cold cruel laugh was making his way through his thoughts.

This is where Remus paused to think. He didn't know the whole extent of it only what James had been allowed to say. He didn't know if he should tell Harry Voldemort was looking especially for him. Remus shook his head, the reason he had come back to England was for this boy in front of him, his magic had told him something was wrong and he had always trusted that feeling, He needed Harry to trust him, he was afraid of who he would trust once he got to Hogwarts. –"Your parents were powerful, they were one of the few who were able to fight him, they almost defeated him three times. He was angry with them, once it was known that your mom had given birth, you became a target as well."

"I was a baby…"

"By this point, he just liked killing, I think he assumed a child of two powerful wizards could become powerful enough to harm him."

Harry looked up startled, he could defeat this Dark wizard, and he was a baby—"what damage could I do, what did I do…"

Remus took in unsteady breath; he would have to explain why he wasn't there when they chose the keeper. He didn't realize he had been deep in thought until Harry shook him.

- "Remus if this is too much, we can pause."

"No, no, we have to discuss this, because it will explain a lot and then we can focus on you going to school. And of what you're going to face once September 1st comes. I just want you to know that I'm not dangerous and you can ask me anything…"

Harry was looking him with a confused frown, but nodded.

"This is something I haven't told anyone in many years. Last time I told this secret it was to your mom in 5th year. I'm a werewolf."

Harry looked surprised. His eyes widened and his mouth hang open—"We have werewolves."

"Yes. We have werewolves and a lot of other magical creatures I'll be talking to you about, but one thing you have to understand is that werewolves are not welcomed or liked in the magical community, people treat us like animals. I'm not dangerous right now, but once a month when the full moon comes, I'm very dangerous. I'm a flesh eating monster and right now I'm contained because there's something called Wolfsbane is a potion that allows me to keep my mind while I'm transformed. So I no longer have the desire to attack humans, but before that, while I was in school during the war, we didn't have it…"

"That's sound like you didn't choose it, why would people judge you for it…"—Harry started saying making Remus smile.

"Because, werewolves are dangerous Harry, there are many like me that didn't choose this, but many more like the lifestyle and take great pride on it unfortunately Voldemort took at vantage of that. The reason he had so many supporters was because he did what they didn't have the courage to do. Voldemort didn't' care how many people he killed to get what he wanted. He wanted to rule the magical world. And if it weren't for you, he probably would have"

Harry shook his head aggressively; his hands were holding on to the couch with so much strength that his knuckles were white. –"Me? What do I have to do with this? I'm just Harry, I'm a little boy whose entire life has been beaten and bullied by his aunt, uncle and his cousin, I'm a no body."

Remus got closer to the boy; put a hand on his shoulder. He relaxed when he saw Harry not flinching away. –"Harry, don't ever say that. You're not a no body. You are Harry the son of two amazing wizards. The Potter family has always been powerful, you living with Petunias was unfair but you survived, you're strong."

Harry felt all of these emotions come to him in a rush. A wave of anger and confusion took hold of him he stood up and started yelling. –"That's right, it was unfair. You're talking to me about this other world, about all of these friends and families and grandparents and you. Where were you? Nobody cared where I ended."

"No Harry, I really tried. I tried to get to you. But I wasn't allowed."

"But why?"— Harry yelled and the book shelves started shaking. Remus knew he had to act before he hurt himself. –"Harry, take a deep breath."

Harry panic he wasn't supposed to do weird stuff—"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to…"

"Hey, hey, it's all right this is accidental magic. That's why you go to Hogwarts, to learn how to control it. There's nothing to apologize for"

Harry nodded and took a deep breath, though Remus could see his hands still shaking. So he continued with the story.

"Like, I was saying. Dumbledore asked me to speak with the werewolves to try to make them join us. It was dangerous but I was the only werewolf in the Order. I knew your parents and our friends weren't going to like it so I never told them where I was going. I was not there when your parents went into hiding; they thought I was the spy…"—Remus entire body dissociate with the next part of the story. He assumed Lily and James didn't trust him by the end and it burn to know that.

"Since I wasn't there, I had no idea what was happening. Your parents used a spell call the fidelius charm, it hides a person or a thing from everyone but someone has to keep the secret. They chose our friend Sirius Black."—

The entire bookshelf started shaking again.

"On Halloween, Voldemort came to your house. Your parents were waiting for Sirius and Peter. But instead Voldemort showed up. According to the Aurors your dad tried to give your mom and you some time to run but…"—Remus shook his head—"Voldemort went after your mom"—Remus pause at Harry's tears rolling down his face. He realized he was giving him too many details but it was in the "history" books and most children knew it. –"Do you want me to continue?"

Harry nodded.

"Remember this morning I told you, you had to go back because there were protections?"— Harry shook his head.

"Those protections were put there unintentionally by your mom. Your mom stood between you and Voldemort"—Remus paused taking a deep breath. –"Her death put the protection and he couldn't touch you"-

All the books in the shelves exploded, one of the mirrors crack. And Harry had angry tears falling down his cheek.

"Something happened that night, Harry. When he tried to kill you, his killing curse, a curse that cannot be stopped and no one has ever survived, rebounded. Nobody knows what happened that night. Only that Voldemort tried to kill you. And he couldn't. A one year old baby stopped him. That night was the end of the war. You are famous Harry; you are the boy who lived"

The books were still shaking and few pages were flying all over the room, the mirror was already dust. Harry was shaking his head trying to clean his tears that couldn't stop. And he spoke in a harsh whisper. –"Famous for what? For my parent's murder, they were killed because of me."

Remus immediately stood up. –"No, Harry"—He cleaned the boys tears with his thumps. –"Look at me,"—Lily's green eyes looking up at him—"Oh Harry no. Your parents loved you very much; they were incredibly excited about having you. Where ever they are, they are happy you lived. James and Lily's death is a painful situation, it still hurts. James was my brother your mother was my best friend. I don't want you to think that they died because of you. That's not true. Parents will do anything for their children. I don't want you to think about it and if anyone ever tells you that. Well you can tell them to… fuck themselves"— earning a watery chuckle Harry nodded aggressively.

–"People really think that a baby stopped him?"

"Unfortunately, yes. Your mom and dad became martyrs. There's no one, not only here in Britain, but in the whole magical world, that hasn't heard of the Potters, that's why you were sent with Petunia."

Harry was breathing fast, Remus was afraid he was going to have a panic attack. –"Harry, sit down."

"What about this traitor?"— His tone made Remus flinch; he knew Harry was trying to focus on something other than his parent's.

–"What about this Sirius Black? Where is he?"

Remus mouth went dry. This was another topic he didn't know how to discuss; he didn't want Harry to have the same doubts as him. The boy didn't have history with Padfoot.

"Sirius Black was our best friend, our brother. He was your…is your godfather. Hagrid was sent by Dumbledore to your parents' house and found Sirius coming out of the house with you in his arms, he hand you over so that Hagrid could take you to Hogwarts. The next thing that was known was him fighting with Peter and killing him, along 13 muggles and apparently confessing to your parent's murder."

Harry sat defeated in the couch—"Where is he?"

"Sirius is currently in Azkaban a magical prison. They gave him a life sentence"—Remus said taking a seat in the chair in front of Harry.

Harry turned around to look at Remus.—"Why are you sad about it? I can hear it in your voice."

Remus pause mouth slightly opened, He was observant. He didn't know if he liked that, Lily was the observant in the group and it always brought problems to her.

"Look, Harry, you have every right to be angry at Sirius. If you want to hate him, do it. I sometimes hate him myself, but I knew Sirius. We …we were a couple until your first birthday when we had a fall out and broke up."—Remus said, being gay wasn't much of a big deal in the wizarding world as it was in the muggle but he didn't know how Harry would take it. When he didn't get more than a nod he continued.—"Sirius was confident, arrogant and prone to outburst of anger. But he was kind, protective and he loved unconditionally…"

"He betray them Remus, what I'm I missing"

"I don't want you to think like me"

"Just tell me."

"He loved you, Harry. They named him godfather because they were sure that no one would love you and protect you like he would. He was the second person to hold you. He cried the day you were born. He kept telling James and Lily that you were such a beautiful little boy and that you would be so powerful, he loved babysitting you. He bought you your first broom. He cried when you took your first little steps. That was the last time we were all together. James trusted him, enough that he trusted him with his own life and his family's life. And I don't know, it just doesn't add up to me that he went and got you out of house and gave you to Hagrid, he could've disappeared, the Blacks have many properties no one would have found him. That's where I'm suspicious; he never would've let you go, instead he went after Peter, but Crouch the one in charge of the Aurors back then, said he had a confession and sent him to Azkaban."

"The muggles have trials they go to court…"

"He didn't get one. Crouch said he confessed, Albus agreed and he was given life in prison. Once you get to Azkaban your lost, I don't have connections, and with the werewolves laws I had to leave the country, I have many questions that don't have answers."

Harry cleaned his tears. –"I'm so confused my head hurts."

Remus agreed. –"Sirius is no concern of yours Harry; I don't want you to think of him. I'm sorry but it was either today, tomorrow but it had to be done. That's the reason you were left with Petunia, the blood wards protect you enough."

"Did I really have no other options?"

"Sirius has legal power over you, after him were the Longbottoms, Alice Longbottom being your mothers best friend and having a son of their own, unfortunately they are no longer sane, I'm a werewolf, according to our laws I'm not allowed to have custody of you. When you enter the wizarding world people need to believe you still live with her."

"Why if Voldemort is gone…"—He stopped when Remus shook his head.

"Voldemort is not truly gone, Harry. Dumbledore has suspicions that he's out there. And that he might come back someday. Not all of his supporters are truly gone, they were able to claim they were forced; that he played mind tricks on them, some reformed, others live on the shadows. We didn't want anyone to come after you. You are a victory of the light."

Harry nodded chuckling humorless looking older then eleven.—"That's great I went from being a target of bullies to target of powerful murderers."

"No one will touch you. You have me and Dumbledore, and there are other people who will protect you, as long as you are in Hogwarts, no one would dare to get close to you. And once you're not there, you will be spending a week with Petunia, nobody knows where it is. You will immediately come here and this house is protected by my own wards and Albus well be adding his own soon. If anyone strange comes into our property I will know and we well have time to escape. I promise you, Harry, no one will harm you."

Harry nodded at his word, but he wasn't so sure. Problems normally found him. He wasn't going to tell Remus that, not after that deep conversation, they both needed to calm down. Like reading his mind, Remus suggested changing the subject and Harry agreed. So for the next part of the day it consisted of both of them drinking tea. Talking about different things in the magical world, Harry asked more questions about the ministry and Remus went on to explaining all the departments in the Ministry of Magic.

After a while Harry had the courage to ask him to see his parents and for the first time Remus showed him pictures of them. He showed him pictures of the Marauders on their first's year, of his father playing Quidditch, of his mom and other friends, Marlene, Peter, Alice. They both cried through the photos. Remus because he was allowing himself to remember a lot of memory's he had kept locked away; because he couldn't stop thinking about Sirius, he missed him so much.

Harry was crying because he just realized that his family was awesome and he would never be able to meet all of them. He smiled knowing that he now had Remus and he looked badass with his scars. Remus put his hand around Harry who was sniffling; Remus was just one of a big group of people that would've loved him unconditionally. After the Albums Remus tried to lift Harry spirit by telling him about the magical creatures in the Wizarding World, he got a good laugh out of Harry when he started explaining the vampires, centaurs, giants. Harry made him promise that he would get him a few books. He laughed harder when Harry choked on his tea when he confirmed the existing of Dragons.

By dinner time Harry helped Remus in the kitchen and both forced down their beef stew. Remus noted Harry hadn't eating much and remembered that they had to go to St Mungos. They both said good night and went to bed with more than one thing in their mind.

Remus sat down on his bed and looked through the album of him and Sirius that he kept hidden, he cried and cursed him at the same time he whispered how much he needed him.

Chapter 2

Harry woke up startled, the sun in his face. Since when did his cupboard got sunlight. He opened his eyes and sat up straight, he hadn't dreamed it, he was with Remus. He looked around and found no clock he didn't know what time it was, he was late for breakfast. He quickly go dressed and ran down the stairs, not realizing Remus was in the living room, reading a book and was watching him with concerned. He walked towards the kitchen where the boy had disappeared.

-"Harry are you alright?"—He said to the boy who was looking for something.

"I'm sorry I will start breakfast soon"—

Remus frown, so that is what he did for the Dursleys, he cooked for them. –"Harry, you don't have to do that. Your breakfast is over there"—Remus pointed at a plate of eggs and bacon a warming charm on it. –"You can cook if you like, but you don't need to make breakfast for us."—

Harry frown, he…he didn't know what to say. –"I will try to wake up earlier tomorrow"—he said sitting down.

Remus chuckled—"Harry its summer you can wake up late if you wish, I have no problem with it."—He said while the boy sat down to eat—"I wake up early because it keeps me in schedule with my work but you're ok to do anything you want, though they are certain things I want to ask you…" –he pressed his lips when Harry tensed and stopped eating to stare at him.

-"The properties goes up to 7 acres and the wards extend that far. You will feel the moment you step out of them; we will take a walk after so I can show you. You are to never go beyond them without telling me ok."—Remus pressed, Harry nodded.

"You don't have to clean the house, just keep it tidy. We have a green house, my mother liked gardening so I know one or two things about fruits and vegetables. You can help me there if you want. I also have a few magical plants just be careful they like to play."

Harry nodded carefully and started eating again.

"All the food in this house is for you to eat don't ask, if you finish something write it on the board and we will get it from the store or if you want anything in particular just ask."—Remus smiled kindly.

Harry took a deep breath he had never had that choice. –"I…um thank you"

Remus let Harry eat in silence while he read the prophet.

"How did the paper got here?"
"Owls…right I haven't introduce you"—Remus laughed and whistled. A brown and white owl landed on the kitchen table. Harry yelped.

The owl screeched at Remus—"I'm sorry but you need to meet Harry, Harry this is Gizmo, he takes our letters to any destination. Magical owls bring our mail. The prophet has their own owls. Gizmo is mine and when we go for your things we will get you one, that way we can communicate while you're at school."

Harry slowly moved his hand towards the owl.—"Hello gizmo I'm Harry."-He said, the owl moved his head to the left and looked at him. Gizmo hooted and flew out the window again.

-"He likes you. Now Harry I have some things I want to do… first today we just relax, you can see more albums and I have some books about magical creatures you can read. Take that walk I was telling you about and tomorrow, we go to London. We need to go to St Mungos."

Harry nodded finishing his breakfast, putting his plate in the sink he turned around.—"Where exactly are we and I thought you said we would go to Diagon Alley?"

"Right, we are in Kielder forest park about in hour away from the Scottish borders."—Harry mouth hang opened. When Remus said they could travel long distance this was not what he imagined. –"And St. Mungo's is a hospital. Wizards like muggles required potions for certain diseases. There's someone I know in St. Mungo's who could get us inside without no one noticing us"

"Another friend of my parents?"

Remus shook his head—"Her name is Andromeda Tonks. She is Sirius cousin, she married a muggle born and her family disowned her for it.

Harry turned around to wash his plate—"Can we trust her?"

Remus smiled sadly—"She was the one that actually help your mom during your birth, with the war there were very few people we could trust. I haven't asked her, I was planning on asking you first"

"Why?"

"I won't force you to do anything you don't want Harry though you do need those potions. But if you're not comfortable with her we can make in appointment"

Harry had though a lot of everything Remus had told him yesterday, he didn't know how true Remus was being with the whole Boy who lived thing and he wanted to see it himself, he didn't want anyone to recognize him just in case it became too much.—"She can get us in with no on recognizing me?"

"Yes"

"Then I trust you"—Harry said, trying to not show the discomfort in his face. Remus smiled brightly this was Harry giving him in opportunity; Remus knew he couldn't miss it up because he was sure there was no second opportunities here.

"Great, I will Owl her soon, also I need to alert the headmaster you're here. He will want to make sure your safe."

Harry nodded.

"After St Mungo's, we need to go to muggle London we need to get you a new wardrobe."

Harry tried not to blush of embarrassment, he realized Remus was right. He stared at Remus and the wizard didn't look bad dressed even for being inside his house. –"Everything I have has been Dudley's I suppose that wouldn't look ok for the boy who lived."

Remus chose his word carefully. –"The boy who lived doesn't matter, your Harry James Potter the heir to the most ancient and noble house of Potter. Just by being a Potter your economically and politically powerful"

"Politics?"—Harry whispered back half horrified.

"Yes, the wizarding world has important families like the muggle world has lords. Your house is ancient but it became Noble once the defeat of Voldemort. Your father was very proud of being a Potter; I believe your name has been around since the twelfth-century"

Harry once again found himself mouth opened, he had to sit down. –"I feel like I have so much to learn"

"You do. But you don't have to learn everything today or in this month you have until you turn seventeen, that's when you become of age and accept the title of Lord Potter. Normally your guardian takes care of everything"

"Maybe that's why they are always buying Dudley expensive gifts?"

"The goblins would never allowed it"

"Goblins? You know what nothing surprises me. Do we also have mermaids, fairys…?"

"We do, we have merpeople the lake in Hogwarts has one of the biggest merpeople communities in Britain and the fairy's are rare since they normally hide form everyone."—Remus laughed at Harry blanking at him. –"There a few books on it. Go read and I will write the letters. Once we go to Diagon we will get some books in Noble houses and whatever we can fine of the Potter name"

So that's what they did. Harry went to find some books to read and Remus wrote his letters.

Dear Andy.

I know it's been a few weeks since we spoke but the move back to London went well, I have some gifts for you three, but for now I must ask you for a favor, I have a little pup that needs all his potions and a few other things. Do you think we can go to St Mungo's without anyone noticing us? Do you think it could be tomorrow, since I have a little surprise plan for his birthday on Tuesday?

Remus.

Dear Minnie

Harry is safe; it was not a pleasant visit like we knew it would be. Albus I'm sure would be glad to know, you're both welcome whenever you wish we will probably head to Diagon on his birthday so any time after that. Do you think you could bring some pictures of Ephie and Monty I don't have many.

See you soon Remus.

Remus whistled for Gizmo and sent him to Andy first. Once he returned he would start his journey to Hogwarts. Remus looked for Harry only to find him looking at the photo albums again. He let him be, only yelling he would be in his office, he left the door opened so that he knew it was ok to interrupt.

The rest of the day went away pretty quickly. Harry had fallen asleep in the couch without realizing and woke with a start. He got up and asked Remus if he wanted lunch, the wolf was so engrossed in his work he didn't even heard him, Harry shrugged and went to heat the stew from last night. The smell got Remus attention.

They both ate over small talk. Remus saw that harry was struggling with the fact he wasn't in the Dursley more than the fact magic existed. He didn't push him, but he could read between the lines. Small comments made him realize Harry had been abused by this people. Once they finished, Remus suggest a walk, he showed Harry the wards and made him practice walking in and out of them so he could feel them. By the time they came back to the house it was almost dark, Harry was showering when Gizmo arrived with Andy's replied. He told Gizmo he could rest but the owl look offended and extended his leg. He watch Gizmo fly into the night before opening the letter.

Dear Remus

You had me worried for a moment when I didn't heard from you. I'm glad your back, we will have time to catch up, now Let me say this….I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU HAVE THE PUP! Of course, tomorrow around eleven is fine. That's when I start my shift. I will be waiting on the door, and direct to my office. So don't worry. I will have everything ready.

See you tomorrow, Andy.

Dinner this time was a little more animated. Harry asked questions about Hogwarts and Remus found himself telling Harry a few pranks they did during first year.

The next day it found them waking up early. Even though Harry didn't rush down the stairs he still stared at Remus with certain trepidation over him making breakfast. So instead he focused on their trip to St. Mungo's.

"you need Potions and to see if you will need some other medication."

Harry nodded and they walked out the door, soon Harry was preparing for a second apparition. This time he didn't vomit, he looked around and realized they were in an Alley.

"Wizards have alleys around London they can use to safely apparate. They are controlled by the department of transportation in the ministry."—Remus said while they walked up the streets. –"It helps with coming to St. Mungo's, the British library, kings cross"—

"It's magical?"

"It has a hidden magical side, many who study Mastery's have to use it from time to time. There are also many shops around London that only you can see because many have wards or spells that prevent muggles from noticing them. The leaky cauldron is one of them, is what Muggle borns use to go into Diagon Alley, Wizards can use the floo. Kings Cross is where you take the train to school."

"It's a world hidden inside another"—Harry said fascinated.

"It is and it's important it stays that way. So always be careful and try not to say many things out loud. Damaging the statute of secrecy could be consider treason. The Department of magical accidents and catastrophes is in charge of obliviating muggle minds in case they see magic. Sometime it's inevitable if a muggleborn has a tantrum in a store and he or she blows all the lights out."

"They must be very busy people"

"They are"—Remus said stopping in front of what appeared to be a red-bricked wall. –"Diagon Alley was too small and they didn't want a hospital to be under ground. We just have to go through there"—He said slightly pushing Harry forward.

Harry hold his breath and walked through only to find himself in what looked like a hospital, though it seemed more a hospital from the early fifties. The reception seemed to be busy though it looked like it could get really crowded. There was multiple rows of wooden chairs. Before Harry could look more closely they were approached by a tall witch with brown hair and grey eyes. Harry knew who she was immediately. Her eyes looked a lot like her cousins eyes.

"Good morning, your just in time for your appointment follow me"—She said to Remus, both quickly followed her. They walked a few hallways until they reached what Harry assumed was her office and once she closed the doors she hurried to Remus.

"Remus Lupin look at you, you look so handsome."—She said kissing one cheek and pinching the other.

"Hello Andy it's nice to see you to"—Remus laughed, Harry had to admit he didn't know what to expect but he found himself liking the women. She turned around to him.

"Oh, this must be Harry, you're so grown up as well, I hold you when you were born, so tiny and handsome I see….you look so much like James but you got Lily's eyes."—She smiled, Harry found himself smiling back

—"It's nice to meet you Mrs. Tonks."

Andromeda smiled at him—"Its Andy Harry, so let's get to business. What do we need?"

Harry looked at Remus and Shrugged.

Remus took a deep breath he knew Harry wasn't going to like this but they had to. –"First Harry needs all his potions for Hogwarts, also if you can check well the normal."
Andromeda noticed Remus apprehension and turned to look at Harry with her healer eyes and saw it immediately…abuse. Her blood boil. She was a healer but a mother first, she had to control herself. She asked both boys to sit.

"Very well, Harry did you ever went to the muggle doctors?"

Harry shook his head. –"Only when I needed my vaccines"

"Ok so all of those are to date I suppose"

"Yes, they had to for school."

"Good, so that only leaved our "vaccines" I have them right here"—She said to a small chest in the corner—"We call them vaccines but they are potions. Before I give them to you I have to weight you, measure you, and check your bones, teeth and eyes."— Harry was starting to feel uncomfortable. Remus told him that he could wait outside if he wanted but he refused. Harry got up and sat on the table. Andy took that as her cue. While she was doing all of this, she chatted with Remus, the two of them trying to make the boy less uncomfortable, and with everything Andy was registering they knew a long talk was coming.

Harry sat back down next to Remus, while Andy prepared the potions.

"Harry the first one will be for Dragon Pox. It is a very contagious disease for wizards; the vaccine will help you prevent that if in case of infection, it can be treated."

Harry drank the first potion of his life and made a disgust face when he felt how bitter it was.

-"Ah, most potions don't taste good but you get used to it. This second one is for Spattergroit, It causes the skin of those infected to break out in purple pustules. These will be the only doses you will drink, the rest will be reinforcements and it is suggested that you take them in case you are going to travel or attend massive events with more wizards"—Andy sat back down, and look at both of them.

"Harry I know that the next thing I'm going to say, it might make you uncomfortable but I have to inform Remus."

Remus immediately sat up straight. –"Is something wrong?"

Harry tensed, he had an idea what it was, Harry knew perfectly well why he had always been the shortest in his school and why he never got fat.

"Harry?"-Andy started to say.

"It's OK Mrs. Tonks I mean Andy you can tell him. Remus is in charge of me now; I just didn't want to trouble him."

"Harry, you're not trouble."—Remus said putting a hand on Harrys shoulder.—"What's wrong, Andy?"

"Harry is very close to being severely malnourished, that has stunt his growth a bit which luckily we still have time to fix. His molar teeths are a bit chipped, but we can fix that with more potions. His magic is a bit weak because he has healed some bumps and fractures that weren't healed properly. His glasses have the wrong prescription so you need new ones and he needs a few vitamins."

Remus inhaled, felt the wolf wanting to come out. Those bloody muggles had abused his cub. Remus would see to it that they paid.

Harry had tensed up ever since Andy had started talking and was looking at his hands.

"What should we do?"

"I'll give you a recipe for several potions that Harry will have to start drinking right away. Some he'll stop drinking before he leaves for school, others he'll sadly have to drink for several months."

Harry didn't say anything but he thought that even in his new school he wasn't going to do normal.-"I don't want anyone to notice"-He said it in almost a whisper but the two adults heard him.

"None of your classmates will unless you tell them. The only one who will know is the school healer Mrs. Pomfrey and your head of house; I'll see to it myself. You don't have to worry about that. Your head of house will probably tell you what time you should go take the potion in the hospital wing. Since Pomfrey will watch your progress."

"He really needs to drink these potions for several months?"

"Only the growth ones, Harry shouldn't miss any meals, I'm sure he doesn't eat much right now but as long as he eats when he's hungry will start making a change. I'll also give you a list of the foods he should eat and the potions are usually taken before dinner. If Harry could start to do some exercise it will also help. At Hogwarts you will have flying lessons so there is no problem there. Besides, if you are a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw, all the stairs you will have to climb every day well count."

Remus nodded and looked at Harry who was still crestfallen. Andy told them she'd be right back with the prescription and meal list.

"Harry, look at me"-Harry looked at him with a frown.

"I'm not going to ask you anything, I'm not going to pressure you to tell me what Petunia has done to you even though I should. For now we're going to focus on getting you back on track. I don't want you to think this changes my opinion of you, nor does this makes you weak."

Harry nodded and tried not to cry, he had been imagining for years that someone like Remus would come to rescue him and they finally did. Harry sniffed and Remus heard him-"Oh cub, you're safe"-He said giving him a small hug. Harry nodded and quickly wiped away his tears when he heard Andy enter.

After that, the consult went quickly, Andy handed them the sheets, told them she'd be in touch as she wanted to see Harry before he left for Hogwarts. Remus thanked her and promised her lunch soon.

They quickly left the hospital since in the hour they had been there it had filled up. Once outside the two took a breath. -"Well that was a bit tense"

"A little?"

"Look, it's over, now we'll go shopping, we'll spend money, we'll buy you clothes to make you look good for school. Tomorrow we'll go to Diagon Alley to celebrate your birthday and then we'll start potions, how does that sound?"

"We are going to celebrate my birthday?

"Of course, the eleventh birthday is the most special for a wizard. We'll go early to beat the crowds, have lunch at the leaky and finish with a cake to go."

Harry smiled and with that they walked towards the London shops.

The moment they reached the house, Harry lay down on the couch. "Shopping is exhausting"

Remus laughed, "Try shopping with your mum and Sirius. There was no stopping them especially after your mum taught him how to use muggle money."

Harry laughed and told him he was going to put everything away and take a bath. Remus told him that he would start dinner. When he got to the kitchen he saw Gizmo waiting for him with Hogwarts letters."

Dear Remus

I wasn't expecting much from those people. I really hope Harrys adjusting, and hopefully you enjoy spending time with each other. Tell him Happy Birthday on my behalf. Dumbledore and I will be there around the 10th I will be happy with taking some pictures.

Love Minnie

Chapter 3

The next morning, Harry woke up less nervous than the days before. He knew he didn't have to get up to make breakfast.

Today was his birthday, and for the first time he had someone to spend it with. He got up, showered, and dressed with the intention of impressing. He put some ripped jeans, combat boots and a flannel shirt that no longer was three times his size.

Remus was waiting for him for breakfast and smiled when he saw him. Little by little Harry was coming out of his shell; hopefully by September 1st Harry's confidence would be enough to withstand the pressure he would be under.

"Happy birthday Harry," Remus smiled at him as he gave him a hug.

"Thank you Remus. What are we doing today?"

"We're going to Diagon Alley, first we have to go to Gringotts, it's the wizarding bank, and then we'll buy everything you need."

Harry nodded and they ate quickly.

"I was thinking of using the Floo network."

Harry looked at him carefully - "Um..."

Remus pulled him towards the fire place-"All you have to do is go in there, grab the floo powder and say Diagon Alley, you'll feel like you're spinning and when you get to your destination the chimney will push you out, sort of like an escalator. Do you think you can do it?"

Remus knew he was taking a risk but Harry had to learn.

"I think so, but what if I get lost?"

"If you get lost, you'll turn up in someone else's living room for that I'll put a small locator charm on you, they don't last long just a few hours. If you get lost say your name is Harry Lupin. Up you go"-Remus pushed him before he got cold feet.

Harry's hand was shaking, but he took the powder, took a strong breath and said "Diagon Alley".

The last thing he saw was Remus smiling, and the sensation of spinning, it was just as Remus said, once he got out he moved out of the way and spun around. He was in a hallway of what looked like a pub. He heard the fire and Remus came out-"You did it Harry, next time it will be easier. Did you fall?"—he asked him as he cleaned him up.

"I tripped."

"You'll learn."

"Where are we?"

"At the leaky cauldron, let's go, oh Remember if someone asks don't say your last name and keep the scar hidden." –they walked out to a small back yard with a brick wall. Remus tapped the wall with his wand. The brick he had touched quivered – it wriggled – in the middle, a small hole appeared – it grew wider and wider – a second later they were facing an archway, an archway on to a cobbled street which twisted and turned out of sight.

'Welcome,' said Remus, 'to Diagon Alley.

Harry stared at the alley with his mouth open. The wizarding world was definitely something else.

They started walking-"We'll go to Gringotts first. Even though I'll pay for everything, you still have to visit your vaults and get money for school."

Harry wished he had about eight more eyes. He turned his head in every direction as they walked up the street, trying to look at everything at once: the shops, the things outside them, the people doing their shopping.

Several boys of about Harry's age had their noses pressed against a window with broomsticks in it. 'Look,' Harry heard one of them say, 'the new Nimbus Two Thousand– fastest ever –'

Harry stood in front of the shop called Quality Quidditch Supplies.

"What is quidditch?"

Remus laughed—"If your dad knew I hadn't told you about quidditch he'd come and hunt me down. Quidditch is our sport, kind of like football, but in the air, on brooms"—he pointed to the Nimbus 2000.—"I never played but your dad and Sirius did, Peter tried out for the team but he never made it, James was a chaser and captain of the team from fifth year until we graduated."

"I'm going to fly brooms?" -Harry said as they started walking again.

"Yeah, the first years get lessons, since is a way of transportation."

"My parents, did they like flying?"

"Flying for your dad was as natural as walking and your mum knew how to fly but it wasn't something she did for fun at least until she started going out with your dad."

They had already arrived at the Bank. Remus moved him to the side where, since it was early in the morning and there was hardly anyone there. –"Harry, the goblins are very strict when it comes to etiquette. Wizards consider them almost on the same level as werewolves, so if you show them respect it will give you an advantage."

"Training for Lord Potter?"

Remus nodded-"Your grandfather used to say that you should learn something every day or it was a wasted day. When you speak to a goblin bow your head first, say good morning and thank them for their attention. We'll practice more rules of etiquette later."

They walked up the white stone steps towards him. The goblin was about a head shorter than Harry. He had a swarthy, clever face, a pointed beard and, Harry noticed, very long fingers and feet. He bowed as they walked inside. Now they were facing a second pair of doors, silver this time, with words engraved upon them:

Enter, stranger, but take heed Of what awaits the sin of greed, For those who take, but do not earn, Must pay most dearly in their turn, So if you seek beneath our floors A treasure that was never yours, Thief, you have been warned, beware Of finding more than treasure there.

"Trying to rob Gringotts is a death sentence"—Remus said

The entrance to the bank was quick and they arrived at the counter.

-"Good morning, we'd like to speak to the Potter family accountant manager."

The goblin looked at Remus with disdain-"And who are you to ask that?"

"Remus Lupin and this is Harry James Potter."

The goblin looked at them both and called out-"Griphook, take Mr. Potter and Mr. Lupin to Laggar."

The two followed the goblin down the corridors until they came to a door where they were asked to wait. Once inside Remus had Harry introduce them.

"Accountant Laggar good morning"-Harry bowed his head.

"Mr. Potter, good to see you, Mr. Lupin, please take a seat. How can I help you today?"

Harry looked at Remus not knowing what to say.

"Accountant Laggar, I'm sorry to be the one to address you, but Harry has only recently learned about the wizarding world.

Remus paused when he saw the Goblin frown. He continued when he saw that he was not going to say anything.

"Harry needs money for school and we would like to visit his vault, but we do not have the key to do so. Besides we don't know who has it so we must eliminate any other existing keys."

"Yes, I understand, to corroborate Mr. Potter's identity we only need a small blood sample after that I have several questions."

Remus nodded, Laggar put a book in front of him and Remus helped Harry prick his finger. Harry watched as the book listed his entire family history, from his parents, grandparents and various surnames.

"Very well. Now that Mr. Potter is who he says he is, I would like to ask him who his legal guardian is.

Harry knew it was up to him to answer – "My Aunt Petunia Dursley, my mother's sister. She's a Muggle."

"That explains it..."

"Accountant Laggar, with all due respect, what is it you wish to know?"-Remus knew that goblins appreciated being direct.

"The Potters' will was closed with their death. Sirius Black was Mr. Potter's proxy and due to his imprisonment that is no longer possible, he tried to leave you in charge but the Ministry's laws would never have allowed a werewolf in charge of in ancient house. So he passed it to Frank Longbottom but he too is no longer available, having no more proxies. The Potter fortune passed into the full control of Gringotts. But if Mr. Harry Potter had a wizarding guardian, the bank would have to assess whether he could be responsible for the finances. Mr. Potter left several names for that."

Remus sighed, not liking where this was going. –"Did James and Lilys wish was for Harry to never go with Petunia"

"Mrs. Potter's sister was the last option, and Mr. James Potter made it strictly clear that they were not entitled to the assessment and only a small pension."

Harry couldn't help but ask—"So they take money for me?"

"No, they have never contact the Bank to initiate the payment."

"Who were the names that James left behind?"

"Minerva McGonagall, Andromeda Tonks and Mary McDonald"

"Mary, she gave up magic after the war, the last I heard from her was that she lived in Chicago" - Remus didn't want to ask, he didn't want confirmation. — "Albus Dumbledore knew about this?"

"It's possible, as the supreme warlock. He has the right to read it together with the head of DMLE and the minister."

Remus growled making Harry jump.

"I don't understand" –said the boy.

Remus told Harry and Laggar. -"It was Dumbledore who took you to your aunt, because of the protections. If he knew about this then he decided to keep quiet so that neither Minerva nor I would force him to leave you in the magical world"

"But why would he do that?"

"Because it's Albus Dumbledore Mr. Potter so long in power that he thinks he's right about everything."—The goblin sneered—"Now because of that, I have a disorganize ancestral account and you're still too young to make decisions regarding your family fortune."

Harry was trying not to drown in the multiple questions that were coming to him. He concentrated.—"And if I choose Remus?"

"Harry the Laws..."

"Not to take charge. To be in adviser"

Remus turned to look at Laggar. The goblin spoke.

"The laws have holes. You cannot make decisions regarding laws or the wizengamont but nothing speaks of becoming an adviser financially"

Remus was surprised. - "Are things really that bad?" - And after he regretted it, he was practically insulting the goblin.

The goblin sighed –"Gringotts is in charge of keeping the financial stability, but it's the Lord of the house who agrees in what type of Business they would like to associate. The Potter family is aligned to the light but in business it has always stay in a grey area.

The properties are in disuse and declining, in addition Mr. Harry Potter here has received in recent years, several properties and inheritance from people who were grateful for his victory. Currently Gringotts has 16 vaults with fan mail and since it belongs to him, the bank must be held responsible."

Remus nodded, they had come here to buy Harry's supplies and apparently those were going to have to wait. Harry looked startled, people left him inheritance? They sent him letters?

"What should we do?"

"By law, Mr. Potter cannot enter any of the 4 official Potter vaults other than his trust fund vault. Or any of the other ones left to him by grateful citizens, but Mr. Potter is within his rights to request to see his transactions"

Remus was beginning to understand. The goblins did not want to continue losing money and were pushing the line between complying and breaking the law to the limit.

"What about my mail?"

"It has nothing to do with investments, you can answer it, burn it. The mail not only includes Letters, it also includes toys and others"

Remus was forming a plan. –"It's possible that Harry will get an advance on his transactions and I'll get in touch with one of the names James left behind. I'd still be in charge of giving advice but it would all be legal."

The goblin leaned back. –"Who are we talking about?"

"I would have to talk about it with Harry but Minerva McGonagall would be a good choice, she was friends with Fleamont."

"If she comes and takes care of it, an assessment would be started, she can instead name you as a proxy with the bank but in the official papers she would be the representative."

Harry was going to ask why he hadn't done that before but he rephrased his question - "The bank never tried to track down these people?"

"The ministry closed your parents' will before the bank could act. What I'm telling you now is all from memory Mr. Potter, Nobody knew where you were, because of your age the Bank would never send you mail it had to wait until you turned 11 and request to see your vault. Minerva McGonagall would have to ask for the will to opened to the wizengamont"

"I'll talk to her"—Remus said, and decided that was one more thing Harry would have to decide.

"Very well, for now all the keys of your vaults will be revoked and a new one will be made."

Harry and Remus nodded, Laggar appeared with a new golden key and Harry once again had to prick his finger. They both thanked the goblin and Griphook took them down to Harrys vault. Harry enjoyed the cart ride, they arrived to vault 687. Remus got out and walked with Harry to the entrance of the Vault.

"Ready?"—Remus smiled.

Harry nodded and the goblin opened the vault making Harry gasp in amazement. Inside were mounds of gold coins. Columns of silver. Heaps of little bronze Knuts.

"Wow, this is a lot"

Remus smiled, from the entrance—"I'm not allowed to go in, so go on."—Remus extended a small pouch—"Gold ones are galleons. Bronze knuts and Silver Sickles, There are 17 Sickles in a Galleon, and 29 Knuts in a Sickle, meaning there are 493 Knuts to a Galleon."

Harry turned around completely confuse.—"So, for school how much should I get."

"You're a first year, so there isn't much you can buy. I say 150 galleons and 50 and 50 of the others. That would be around 700 pounds and I still feel that's a lot, but your father never had a budget and I won't make you have one"

Harry just shook his head. He couldn't believe it, he had a fortune. He would be taking his own money; he had something that belonged to him. Harry quickly put the money away; soon they were on their way to the surface.

Once they walked out the vaults, once again to the lobby, Remus saw someone he hadn't seen in some years. Walking straight to them was Hagrid.

"Remus! How you've been"—Hagrid said in his voice that carried through the room. Harry jump at the voice.

"It's alright, Harry. Hagrid I've been great, it's nice to see you"—the wolf said trying not to flinch at Hagrid strength. –"Hagrid keep your voice down, but I would like to introduce to Harry. Lily and James boy."

Hagrid smiled down at the boy—"Aye, there boy that's right. You look exactly like your dad but you've got your mothers eyes."

Harry smiled at the giant.—"Nice meeting you Mr. Hagrid."

"Hagrid is just fine Harry. Doing your errands for school?"

"Yes, and celebrating a birthday"

"Galloping Gargoyles, that's right."—Hagrid was going to speak but the goblin coughed in annoyance—"Right sorry, I have important Hogwarts business to attend, I will look for you in the Alley, might get Harry a birthday present."

Harry was about to refuse, but Remus smiled kindly to Hagrid and told him they could meet him in front to madam malkins in hour.

Once they were outside—"Ok, Harry were to first?"

Harry pulled the letter out.

"The letter hasn't change much from when I attended, we can go get your books, trunk and potions supply's. After that you're uniform, then we see Hagrid, and we can finish the rest after that."

Harry agreed and with excitement they walked into the crowd's.

Remus led them to a bookstore called Flourish and Blotts where there were so many books that even those who didn't like to read would have been fascinated.

Remus like an expert walked between the shelves looking for the books and pointing out others that might interest Harry. — "Are you still interested in knowing more about magical creatures and the Noble houses?"

"Anything that can help me,"— Harry told him sincerely.

Remus smirked, if Harry ended up being like Lily his library would increase quite a bit. James liked to read but not as much as the redhead.

Harry bit his lip and bravely asked if there was one in Werewolves, to which Remus nodded but told him that most of what was written was prejudiced but that it was good that Harry knew so he wouldn't be caught off guard at school. He also bought Hogwarts of history for him— "Everyone should read this book," –Remus told him as he also grabbed the history of Quidditch and a book from the noble houses of Britain. He also added a book on Defense.-"My mastery is in Defense; it's never too early to use it even though you still won't have the strength to do much of these spells, and it's good to know them." – In the end, Harry had about 15 books plus the ones Remus had bought for himself, even though Harry had seen a lot of new unread books on the shelves around the house.

Harry had told him that he didn't have to pay for it, to which Remus laughed and told him that it was okay. That it was something that he wanted to do.

They walked to a store called the world of trunks where Remus bought him a trunk with the capacity to store all his books, clothes, uniform and other things of his. It could only be opened with his wand and had the coat of arms of the Potter house.

They quickly went to buy the cauldron and went to the Apothecary where Remus filled it with everything he was going to need—"Your mom always had her own potion ingredients, so you can afford to make mistakes and try again."—He also bought him a small chest that he could carry to class with all his products

They had finally gotten around to buying his uniforms—"There are two places to buy uniforms with, Madam Malkins which has been around for years and you can buy anything and Twilfitt and Tattings which is a bit more luxurious."

"Nothing that makes me stand out, I don't need a silk uniform"

"Silk in Scotland would be impractical"

"Hogwarts is in Scotland? I will freeze"

"That's why we're going to keep you warm and I will teach you some warming charms."

Madam Malkin was a squat, smiling witch dressed all in mauve.—'Hogwarts, dear?' she said, when Harry started to speak. 'Got the lot here – another young man being fitted up just now, in fact.'"—In the back of the shop, a boy with a pale, pointed face was standing on a footstool while a second witch pinned up his long black robes.

Harry and Remus looked at the boy. Remus scrunched up his face but said nothing. Just then Hagrid appeared in the doorway and motioned for Remus to come out.

"Madam Malkins we need three uniforms, hat although I don't know why they still ask for it, gloves and two cloaks. You can also add pants and shirts that can be adjusted, please"—Madam Malkins said yes and Remus left after telling Harry that he would be right outside.

Madam Malkin stood Harry on a stool next to him, slipped a long robe over his head and began to pin it to the right length.

'Hullo,' said the boy, 'Hogwarts too?'

'Yes,' said Harry.

'My father's next door buying my books and mother's up the street looking at wands,' said the boy. He had a bored, drawling voice. 'Then I'm going to drag them off to look at racing brooms. I don't see why first-years can't have their own. I think I'll bully father into getting me one and I'll smuggle it in somehow.' Harry was strongly reminded of Dudley.

'Have you got your own broom?' the boy went on.

'No,' said Harry.

'Play Quidditch at all?'

'No,' Harry said again. Remembering he had to read History of quidditch first.

'I do – Father says it's a crime if I'm not picked to play for my house, and I must say, I agree. Know what house you'll be in yet?'

'No,' said Harry,

'Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they, but I know I'll be in Slytherin, all our family have been – imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?'

'I say, look at that man!' said the boy suddenly, nodding towards the front window. Hagrid was standing there, grinning at Harry and pointing at three large ice-creams, Harry could see Remus smiling next to him.

'That's Hagrid,' said Harry 'He works at Hogwarts.'

'Oh,' said the boy, 'I've heard of him. He's a sort of servant, isn't he?'

'He's the gamekeeper,' said Harry. He was liking the boy less and less every second.

'Yes, exactly. I heard he's a sort of savage – lives in a hut in the school grounds and every now and then he gets drunk, tries to do magic and ends up setting fire to his bed.'

'I think he's brilliant,' said Harry coldly, he had just meet Hagrid this morning but he didn't like the tone the boy had used, as if he was better.

'Do you?' said the boy, with a slight sneer. 'Why is he with you? Where are your parents?'

'They're dead,' said Harry shortly. –"I'm here with my Uncle"

'Oh, sorry,' said the other, not sounding sorry at all. 'But they were our kind, weren't they?'

'They were a witch and wizard, if that's what you mean.'-Harry just realized he was one of those pureblood elitist Remus had spoken to him about.

'I really don't think they should let the other sort in, do you? They're just not the same; they've never been brought up to know our ways. Some of them have never even heard of Hogwarts until they get the letter, imagine. I think they should keep it in the old wizarding families. What's your surname, anyway?'

But before Harry could answer, Madam Malkin said, 'That's you done, my dear,' and Harry, not sorry for an excuse to stop talking to the boy, hopped down from the footstool.

'Well, I'll see you at Hogwarts, I suppose,' said the drawling boy.

Harry thanked Madam Malkins, and scowled out of the shop. Remus, who was laughing with Hagrid, immediately approached him and asked him what was going on.

"Nothing, but I've just had one of the most unpleasant conversations."

Remus frowned and leaned out the door and saw the boy in front of him. Remus nodded and handed Harry his ice cream cone. –"Come on, Hagrid wants to give you a surprise."

Harry smiled at Hagrid and ate his ice cream while he listened to Hagrid talk about something called Thestrals.

They walked to the Owl Emporium store. Remus had stayed outside and Harry entered with Hagrid. Hagrid told him to walk around; Harry was going to the back of the store where he could hear several voices at once, it sounded like they were fighting but before he got there an owl landed on his head.

"Oh look at that Harry, she's chosen you. Perfect, bring her here" –He heard Hagrid, Harry was about to ask what was going on when he saw Hagrid paying and realized this was his birthday present.

"Oh Hagrid you don't have to really, the ice cream was enough"-Harry told him turning red.

"Nonsense Harry, one only turns eleven once."—Harry now carried a large cage which held a beautiful snowy owl, fast asleep with her head under her wing. He couldn't stop stammering his thanks.

Remus smiled at Hagrid, and Hagrid waved them off, telling Harry he'd see him at Hogwarts. Remus asked him if he wanted to have lunch or finish shopping and Harry decided to Finish shopping, he was getting tired.

"Well, now all that's missing is your wand, but first I have to go buy your potions." They walked to the healer shop, a shop close to a dark alley.

"That alley is one of the exits to Knocturn Alley You must never go there, Harry. You being who you are, are in danger in there."

"What's in there?"

"Dark magic shops, vampires, werewolves, banshee, thieves. Nobody goes to knockturn Alley unless they really need to. Remember, never go there."

Harry gulped and nodded. Remus quickly purchased what they needed, Remus didn't want to be near Knockturn Alley with Harry, until now no one had noticed him and they had been lucky, he knew who that boy Harry had talked to was and the last thing he wanted was to ran into the Malfoys.

They returned to the main alley and walked towards the wand shop. The last shop was narrow and shabby. Peeling gold letters over the door read Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC. A single wand lay on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window.

Remus was telling him as they entered- "There are many rumors about that wand. Some say it's the first wand the Olivanders made for a powerful wizard; others say it's Merlin's."—Harry was watching it as they waited.

The two jumped when a voice spoke to them. -"Good evening"

An old man was standing before them, his wide, pale eyes shining like moons through the gloom of the shop.

'Hello,' said Harry awkwardly.

'Oh yes,' said the man. 'Yes Yes. I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Harry Potter.' It wasn't a question. 'You have your mother's eyes. It seems only yesterday she was in here herself, buying her first wand from her. Ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow. Nice wand for charm work

Harry was about to speak when Mr. Ollivander got closer. 'Your father, on the other hand, favored a mahogany wand. Eleven inches. Pliable. A little more power and excellent for transfiguration. Well, I say your father favored it – it's really the wand that chooses the wizard, of course.'

Harry stood not knowing what to say, Mr. Ollivander had spoken so fast that Harry still hadn't finished processing the information.

"And that's where…" he said trying to grab Harry but Remus pulled him back, out of the man's reach. –"Remus Lupin! Good to see you...Cypress, ten and a quarter inches quite pliable"

Remus smiled at him. — "That's right, Mr. Ollivander, what a good memory. We're here today for Harry's. How about we start?"

"Sure, sure. 'Well, now – Mr Potter. Let me see.' He pulled a long tape measure with silver markings out of his pocket. 'Which is your wand arm?'

"Er – well, I'm right-handed"—said Harry.

'Hold out your arm. That's it.' He measured Harry from shoulder to finger, then wrist to elbow, shoulder to floor, knee to armpit and round his head

While the tape measure did its thing, Mr. Ollivander explained the wand cores to Harry. At last he held out a Beechwood wand with a dragon center but immediately snatched it away, then gave him a Maple and phoenix feather wand, but he only touched it, and Ollivander said no. And so he tried several more, Harry was getting more and more discouraged, maybe he wasn't a wizard like Remus had assured him. Remus saw how tense he was getting-"don't worry, it's normal for you to try several. I tried 10 before one of them accepted me."

'Tricky customer, eh? Not to worry, we'll find the perfect match here somewhere – I wonder, now – yes, why not – unusual combination – holly and phoenix feather, eleven inches, nice and supple.' Harry took the wand. He felt a sudden warmth in his fingers. He raised the wand above his head, brought it swishing down through the dusty air and a stream of red and gold sparks shot from the end like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls.

Remus brain-"Excellent Harry, you see there was nothing to worry about" "Curious"-Said Mr. Ollivander. "What's Curious?" Harry asked.

'I remember every wand I've ever sold, Mr. Potter. Every single wand It so happens that the phoenix whose tail feather is in your wand, gave another feather – just one other. It is very curious indeed that you should be destined for this wand when its brother – why, its brother gave you that scar.'

Remus looked puzzled. -Well fuck me- he thought. Remus turned to see Harry there was no reaction in the boy. Ollivander was going to continue speaking but Remus interrupted him. –"Mr. Ollivander, do you sell wand holders?"

Mr. Ollivander gave him a frown, he returned the unimpressed look.

"Yes, they are right there"

"Pick one Harry, it can go on your wrist or leg so you don't lose your wand."

Harry walked over to the wall where he chose one made of dragon skin, a Hungarian Horntail, both wizards told him. They paid and said their goodbyes to Mr. Ollivander, Once outside, Harry quickly put his wand away and heading for the leaky cauldron

Remus grabbed Harry by the shoulder as the pub was full. Unfortunately, Tom saw them and at the same time he yelled-"I can't believe it, it's Harry Potter!"

Remus gripped his wand tightly. The pub fell silent and Harry looked around in confusion. "Stay alert." -he whispered. Harry nodded.

Tom was the first one to reach them and seized his hand, tears in his eyes. "Welcome back, Mr. Potter, welcome back."

Harry found himself shaking hands with everyone in the Leaky Cauldron. Although Remus never left his side and pushed him towards the chimneys.

'Delighted, Mr. Potter, just can't tell you…

'I've seen you before!' said Harry, as Dedalus Diggle's top hat fell off in his excitement. 'You bowed to me once in a shop.'

'He remembers!'— cried Dedalus Diggle, looking around at everyone. 'Did you hear that? He remembers!'

"DIGGLE!" - Remus said unimpressed making Diggle and everyone around him jump.

Diggle looked up and his eyes widened—"Remu..."

"You're an Auror Diggle, do your job, I need to pass"— Remus told him angrily. Harry didn't know Remus could sound like that.

Diggle nodded. — "Yes, yes of course. Come on everyone go back to your chairs, you're harassing a minor. Come on move."

Remus thanked him even though he did give him a disapproving look when Diggle tried to touch Harry again. –"Diggle for the love of Merlin, stand there so no one follows us. And if anyone asks you don't know me, don't make me tell Mad-eye."

Diggle nodded. Remus sent Harry first.

Once Harry was back in the house, he breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to see Remus walk past and quickly turned off the Floo. -"No one can follow us, the wards forbid it but just in case we will close it until we need it again."

Harry sat in the dining room-"What was that? They knew who I was, and they thanked me, for what?"

"You thought I was lying to you when I told you that you're famous. There is the proof of why everyone must believe that you are still living with your aunt. You are the savior of the magical world Harry. You have no idea what Voldemort would have done had you not defeated him."

Harry shook his head aggressively. –"But I didn't do anything, I was a baby,"— he said, taking a breath. He had not liked what had happened.

"They don't see it that way. Nobody knows what happened that night, your parents died like heroes, and you survived a curse that people are terrified of. That scar has never been seen but everyone knows what it means."

"I don't want this fame"

Remus gave him a sad look. Now more than ever Harry looked like a child. -"I know cub, but for better or for worse you have it. We just have to learn to control it."

Harry didn't know what to think. He didn't want to be famous for the murder of his parents. Harry didn't want to be famous at all he just wanted to be Harry.

"It will be worse at Hogwarts wont it?" – He asked bitterly, and at that moment he remembered about his wand. He went to the bag Remus had put on the table and pulled out the box.

Remus looked at him carefully.

"What does it mean that my wand and Voldemort's are connected?"

"I don't know"—he replied truthfully. –"It is rare when two wands have the same center and wands with phoenix cores are peculiar. I really don't know, but Harry, the magic you are going to do with that wand will be entirely yours. The wand chooses the wizard but it is the wizard who decides how to use it, and I'm sure you'll do amazing things"

Harry nodded, still not sure about that.

"How about we keep everything in your room, you leave the wand there and we'll go celebrate your birthday. Let's eat, and walk around for a bit. I know a bakery in London that I'm sure will have a birthday cake. And tomorrow we worry about school and potions."

Harry liked the idea right away.

They unpacked everything and Remus soon apparated them to London. Harry had never celebrated his birthday in such a way. They walked to a burger joint, where they ate the best of the house, with chips. Remus surprised Harry when he pulled out a camera and took a picture of him. - "If you do the correct spells at the moment of revealing it, they move"— he told him. They walked along the Thames and Remus promised that he would later take him to see the Abbey and Buckingham Palace. They took several photos as if they were tourists which was true for Harry. They went to the bakery Remus told him about and ate the best slice of cake Harry had ever tasted. Remus snapped a picture of him smiling the biggest he's ever smiled as he put a candle on the slice of cake and two ladies wished him happy birthday.

Chapter 4

The next following day, they fell into a routine. Harry would wake, have breakfast, drink his potions and read as much as he could, he had so many questions that Remus now gave him two hours after dinner to answer them. They were also going to start practicing magic; Remus was teaching him warm charms. Remus also told him to read about transfiguration and potions since those could easily become his most difficult subjects.

Harry had been thinking for several days now about the conversation he had had with the boy in Madam Malkins and decided to ask after dinner—"Remus, you know who the boy was in the shop. I didn't like what he said"—and Harry quickly explained.

"I recognized him because he is very similar to his father. He is a Malfoy, although I don't know his name. His father was a death eater, well, the Order knew; he was one of those who managed to escape from Azkaban. His father name is Lucius Malfoy's."

Harry ran to grab the book on families and searched for it. - "His family is very rich"

"Yes, Abraxas Malfoy was a very powerful man. Lucius managed to maintain the political power of the family; I had never seen his son until that day. His wife Narcissa Malfoy is Andromeda's sister, though they haven't seen each other for many years."

"Because she married a muggle born?"-

"That's right, Andromeda was banished, they have another Sister called Bellatrix Lestrange, and she along with her husband and brother-in-law tortured Alice and Frank Longbottom"

"I was supposed to stay with them right?"

Remus pursed his lips and said yes.

"They were murdered?"

"No, they were tortured with the Cruciatus Curse, they went insane, last i heard they live in St Mungos."

Harry frowned,-"That Curse is it use often?"—He couldn't imagine learning something like that in Hogwarts.

"They are the unforgivable curses. They are three and any one of them can guarantee you a direct sentence to Azkaban. The Imperius allows wizards to mentally control their victims, the curse was the most feared because they forced you to do what they wanted and you couldn't do anything. Death Eaters killed dozens of families like that.

The Crucitaus curse is the curse of torture, you feel like your whole body is being stabbed, your muscles are stretched and your body is on fire..."

"You say it as if you know how it feels"

Remus shivered—"I do. The Death Eaters, loved to use it, it's a curse I wouldn't wish on anyone. And the third one is the killing curse, nothing can stop it, it's simple and painless and no one has survived it except you"

Harrys face hardened. –"How many Death Eaters escaped?"

"Nobody knows, Lucius was known in the order because Frank saw him on one occasion, through Sirius and Andy we knew about Bellatrix. Some have the dark mark on their arm and others don't"

"Every time I feel like I finally understand, more things come out. What happened to the Longbottom son?"

"His name is Neville, and he was raised by his grandmother Augusta Longbottom, actually I didn't want to tell you who to be friends with but that if you saw him at school..."

"Talk to him, yes, I can do that."

Soon came the visit from Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall.

Harry had been running in the backyard when Remus told him they were having visitors and sent him off to take a bath.

When he went down to the living room, Dumbledore and Minerva were having tea.

"Good afternoon"—

"Harry, this is Headmaster Albus Dumbledore and your transfiguration professor Minerva McGonagall." –Harry shook both hands and sat down next to Remus.

"Mr. Potter, let me tell you that I'm so glad to meet you, your dad was one of my best students and your mom was brilliant. I look forward to seeing what you can do."

"No pressure"—Harry said, making Dumbledore chuckle. Harry didn't know what to think about the headmaster, he was dresses in deep violet robes with stars and a pointy hat. But a little voice in his head remembers him it was this man that left him with the Dursleys.

"Harry, it's nice to finally meet you. I don't know if Remus has explained what I'm doing here?"

"Yes sir, you're here to put more protections around the property."

"That's right; your safety is one of our priorities, why don't you show me around Remus while Minerva shows him pictures of her school days"

Harry are you going to be alright?

"Yes uncle Remus, don't worry"

Remus smiled at him, Harry hadn't had many days using the term, the first time was after breakfast and the two of them just stood there looking at each other. Until Remus smiled at him and said you're welcome nephew, and eased the tension. Harry used it with the intention that Dumbledore would understand that here he felt comfortable here and that brought warmth to Remus chest.

And so they spent the afternoon, Dumbledore and Remus walking around the estate, Minerva talking to Harry about her grandparents, Minerva would have gone to school with Monty, not in the same year but they had been on the Gryffindor team together. She therefore had several photos of the two of them and then her grandmother when she joined Monty.

Harry was surprised when she gave him several copies for her album photos.

The two declined the invitation to lunch, while Dumbledore explained to Harry what was inside the Black lake. Minerva took the opportunity to talk to Remus.

"You have to prepare Harry in relation to Severus. Ever since Albus warned us that this was the year Harry was coming, Severus hasn't stopped making unsavory comments."

Remus didn't like that at all. -"What is he saying?"

"Severus isn't about to give the boy a chance, James Potter's son doesn't deserve it. He's going to make life hell for him or potions at least."

"And you can't do anything?"

"Oh Remus, I've been wanting to do something for years, Severus is very smart and exceptionally good at potions but his ways of teaching have always annoyed me. This year only two were in his N.E.W.T.S class. Amelia has sent endless letters about that missing with her Aurors and Dumbledore ignores them. Talk to Harry Remus, I know it's hard to accept the mistakes of the past but you have matured"

And Severus hasn't?"

"I'm afraid not, he's turned into the very thing he hated, and I've had enough of telling Dumbledore that if he doesn't control him he'll be in serious trouble. This year Neville Longbottom, and Susan Bones are starting too. I don't want to imagine what Augusta and Amelia will do if their children are mistreated."

Remus sighed and nodded. — "I'll talk to Harry, I don't know how he's going to take it but you're right, I can't send him in blindly."

Minerva agreed, Dumbledore and her quickly left.

The days passed and Remus took full advantage of them, he would not see Harry until Christmas, which the boy had already confirmed he would come to spend it with him. They went out for a walk and Remus took him back to London as promised, Harry wanted to go back to Diagon Alley to see the brooms since he was finally going to understand what they were but Remus said no, better not push fate. The Prophet had put out a small column where they talked about the Boy Who Lived buying his supplies and Remus knew the alley was going to be packed with photographers.

The last few days came with a visit to St Mungo's and Remus's first dose of potion. The full moon would be two days after Harry had left. Which Remus was grateful for.

Andy checked on him again, and gave the go-ahead for Harry to only take one growth potion every day—"For three more months."—Harry scowled at him but Andy promised that they would help increase his hunger and strengthen his muscles so that he wouldn't feel so tired anymore. Andy told Remus about the scar as well.

"There is dark magic residue on the scar, I'm not surprised as it was caused by a curse but on the first scan it wasn't that visible."

"Are you worried that I'll grow with him?" –Remus said to which Harry made a face of horror.

"No, maybe it's just a sign that Harry was weak, I'd like to monitor him over the course of the year. If he comes at Christmas we can meet on that date, then at Easter and then in the summer and we'll see if there's any change."

Once they got to the house, Remus sat him down in the living room.

"Harry, there something I should tell you?"

"There is more?"

Remus let out a small laugh. -"It's nothing too bad; it's just something I have to confess to."

Harry nodded.

"There is a teacher at Hogwarts who will probably treat you bad."

Harry sat up straight—"Why?"

"Because of the Marauders, Severus Snape is going to be your potion master and he hated us, especially your dad and Sirius."

"Why? What did they do to him?"

"In short, we were his harassers."

"You bullied him" –Harry said getting up. He's not yelling, Remus thought, that's a good sign.

"Yes, but no. What we did to him was not right, I'm not trying to defend myself, now I understand that I was an ass but Snape wasn't a saint either, he treated us as badly as we treated him"

"But why?"—He said and Remus heard the reproachful tone.

"Snape was jealous of your dad because he had everything he didn't. Family, money, he was handsome and he was talented. Everyone wanted to be friends with James Potter. He detested Sirius because Sirius gave him the nickname Snivellus, and Sirius, like James, was popular. He didn't like me because many times I ignored what happened around him, unless I joined James's teasing and when he found out what I was, he was disgusted of me. Peter was never taken into account unless he was to be used for some malice."

"What did Snape do to be treated badly?

"Your mum and he were good friends until fifth year when he himself ruined that friendship. Your mum always wanted to see the good in people and too late she saw what Snape was. Snape ended up in Slytherin, the house Sirius should have gone to. Snape befriended all those pureblood children that Sirius should have befriended, they all knew the problems Sirius had in his house and therefore Snape knew it too. Your dad never left Sirius alone in a fight. When Snape started bothering Sirius with personal problems, your dad started pranking him, painting his hair, hiding his homework, tripping him up. Until third year when things began to change."

Harry looked disappointed. -"What changed?"

"Everything. The war started, and it started from inside our houses, most of Snape's friends turned Death Eaters, there are rumors that Snape was one and Dumbledore protected him"

Harry raised his head. - "And my mom was his friend?"

"Oh yes, her best friend, Sirius would tell us what he heard at home and Monty your grandfather would tell James the names of families rumored to be involved with the dark side. And they all revolved around Snape. That was also the year when your dad started to like your mom and Snape didn't like that one bit."

"Snape wanted to go out with my mom?" –Harry's head was starting to hurt.

"Sirius and I always thought that, your dad never really cared about it. He was more bothered by the fact that your mom kept hanging out with knowing who were his friends,. Many times we heard Mulciber who is now in jail talk about Lily as if she was a thing or property and Snape never defended her, he kept quiet or laughed with them. Marlene Mckinnon, another best friend of your mom, also told her that Snape wasn't to be trusted, but your mom didn't want to let her friend go. Snape became what your dad and Sirius hated the most, a prejudiced elitist who was falling deep in the dark arts and your mom was right there in the middle. When Snape found out that your dad was interested and Lily too even though Lily denied it for several years. The jokes turned into verbal fights through the halls, Jinxes, and hexes flying when we saw each other. And then they became curses. Many times we were sent to the infirmary because it got out of control. Snape was the weakest of the group, ours was Peter. Only we defended Peter and Snape was left alone."

"And you took advantage of it; you know how many times they did something like that to me, how many times there were four against me. It's not fair" -Harry said exalted.

Remus nodded at every word Harry said and felt guilty that something like this had happened to Harry. –"No, Harry, it's not fair. We were idiots who thought too much of each other. Now I know and I regret it, I would apologize to Snape but he would never accept my apologies. According to Minerva he hasn't change much. Snape became nosy; he was always messing with us even when we paid no attention to him. He set himself a mission and it was to expel us, several times he managed to get into trouble and that annoyed us, so we took revenge."

Harry held up his hand to silence him.

"What happened for my mom to stop being friends with him? Why did mom give dad a chance? My mom loved Snape like he loved her?"— Harry swallowed.

"No, your mom loved Snape but in the same way I love your dad, like a brother. Snape was her family, the only one she had left. Your grandparents, although proud of Lily, were muggle and petunia well we both know what happened there. Snape was her only connection to the girl she was. And your mom gave your dad a chance because he matured, James realized there was more to life than jokes and fun.

They all arose from a situation that I call the week of unfortunate events. It was in our OWLS week. A few days before our last exam, Peter had been in the hospital wing for a spell that Rosier put on him. Leaving the exam your dad saw Snape alone and turned him upside down, tried to take his pants off, there were many students outside and they were laughing. Your mom right away came over and demanded that James put Snape down, your dad did and your mom was helping Snape up when he pushed her away and told her that he didn't need help from a filthy little mudblood like her."

"What does that mean?"

"Mudblood, is a derogatory word they use for Muggle-borns, where they allude that their blood is dirty, that their blood is dirt, mud, that has no value."

"Why did he say that to his friend?"—Harry said completely shock that something like this was real in the wizarding world.

"Because Snape had already changed, he wasn't the Snape that Lily knew anymore and it was that moment where Lily finally understood everything we said to her. Unfortunately, he said it in front of the school and there were many who were offended by the word and others laughed at your mom. Your dad immediately came out to defend her but your mom turned around and insulted your dad, she called him a pedantic child, who believed himself a lot and a bully. It was like a slap on the face to your dad. Days later Snape was looking for us, he was angry with us because it was our fault that he had said that to Lily"

"That is a lie; he said it because he already thought about it"

"It was just what your dad told him. Words were spoken, curses flew and one hit your dad in the arm. It cut him and McGonagall sent him to the infirmary. At the same time, in another part of the castle Sirius and his brother were fighting. Sirius was already angry, James was in the hospital wing, I was on my way to the Whomping willow to transform, Peter went out looking for Sirius but Snape found him first. Words were exchanged and Snape hinted that he already knew our secret, that he already knew what I was and that if we were going to ruin his friendship he would ruin ours."

Remus took a deep breath, this part was going to hurt, he hadn't thought about it for years but he continued.

"Within the Black family there is something that many people know as the Black Madness. So much incest misses with them, it drives them crazy, there have been some others who have moments of violent anger and Sirius was one of them. His anger overcame him and he told Severus that if he knew our secret then he should go to the whomping willow."

"But...you were...there..."

"Yes Harry that's why Snape hates us because Sirius sent him to his death and I almost killed him"

Harry's eyes widened. - "How, how can you still doubt that he is not guilty..."

Harry's words hurt him, even made him shiver, and Harry realized. "I'm sorry..."

"No, you're right. The truth is very simple Harry, I love him. I love him and I hate him."

Harry looked at him sadly—"What happened next?"

"Peter heard what happened, he ran to find your dad, Sirius went on his way and Snape went to find me"

"But if he knew what you were, he knew perfectly well that…"

"That I could kill him, I think he didn't reason and he only wanted to win. The fact is that we both would have died, I would have killed him and they would have executed me. Sirius realized what he did and went to find Dumbledore. By the time they got to the tree your dad had dragged Snape out of the passage. That day our lives changed we discovered betrayal"

"That's why he hates you, that's why he's going to hate me too but I didn't do anything."

"I know, and he knows it too, but he won't care, you're the son of the man he hates and the son of the woman he could never have. You know what the ugliest thing is, your dad never saw your mom as a prize. He liked her and asked her out every once in a while. When your mom had boyfriends, your dad never got involved, in the end he never told any of them that he had won Lily Evans, but I'm sure Snape to this day, he's still sees Lily as that prize he never won."

Harry fell silent and with a broken voice he asked Remus. –"My dad changed, right? He stopped bullying."

"Oh Harry. The summer between fifth and sixth year your dad changed so drastically that he was a surprise to everyone. He became a better person, and I'm sure wherever he is he regrets what he did."
