Scene: The Seine. Marinette and Adrien arrive at the Liberty on Marinette's mini scooter. Nino is waiting for them. They take off their helmets.
Marinette: Everything okay, Nino?
Adrien: We came as soon as we got your message.
Marinette: Adrien was giving me my first tamarin lesson- (stutters) I mean, Mandarin lesson.
Nino: The situation is serious, my friends. (points to Adrien) We're gonna need your help, Adrien.
Adrien: (shocked) Alright, what can I do?
Nino: First, I gotta tell you why we're here. (walks toward the houseboat, Marinette and Adrien look at each other before following. Adrien places his helmet down on the scooter.)
Scene: Liberty. Nino is walking with Marinette and Adrien following.
Nino: As you know, the Seine is a river, its current acts like a conveyor belt carrying anything that falls into it out to the ocean. (shows them a bunch of plastic products such as fans and containers and anything made of plastic that was dumped in the Seine.) Including plastic waste.
"THAT MUCH PLASTIC WASTE IN THE SEINE?!" Adrien loudly asked in complete shock along with everybody else in the audience, especially Mylene who's starting to feel faint upon the sight on-screen.
Marinette: (as Mylène, Max, and Markov are working on the computer in the background.) I can't believe there is so much plastic in the Seine.
Zoe: (dragging a trash bag full of plastic) Plastic is everywhere! Even in our clothes.
Nino: If no one tackles the plastic problem, who will? (Marinette and Adrien look at each other and shrug) Exactly. Which is why we've decided to take matters into our own hands. (shows them what Mylène, Max, and Markov were working on earlier. Mylene presses a button on the computer which shows the Liberty being used to collect plastic items in the Seine.)
Mylène: We've converted the houseboat into an ecological water treatment plant.
Max: Thus allowing us to intercept the numerous plastic items that fall into the Seine and pollute it.
"Pretty ingenious ecological invention, you two," Mr. Damocles praised both Max and Mylene for converting the houseboat to collect plastic waste from the Seine on-screen with everyone else murmuring in agreement.
"I know this is the future, but this is still a problem that we have today. Maybe we should get started on converting the houseboat right away, so we can tackle the problem early on, Max," Mylene suggested to her genius friend who nodded in affirmation.
Nino: The problem with plastic is that it does not decompose.
Alya: (carrying a toolbox) All the plastic that's been made and we have used has ended up in the environment. (runs off)
Nino: And it's still there in one form or another.
Marinette: That's terrible. (A noise is heard, causing the houseboat to rumble.)
Nino: This morning, the situation suddenly got worse.
Scene: Engine room. Alya slams the toolbox on the engine. Passes tools to Anarka, Juleka, and Ivan.
Anarka: If this keeps up, my houseboat will sink! (rumbles, as Nino, Marinette, and Adrien arrive.)
Markov: (as the houseboat continues to rumble) We've detected a large increase of plastic waste in the Seine. All from the same item.
Adrien: (puzzled) Same item? What do you mean?
Nino: Paris City Hall decided to install vending machines everywhere in order to sell these. (Alya pulls up her Alliance ring, which shows an advertisement.)
Alliance Adrien and Alliance Kagami: It's so hot out!
Alliance Kagami: (points to a vending machine full of hand fans.) Look at these adorable hand fans!
Alliance Adrien: And since they're so affordable, we can switch them up as much as we want! (the machine dispenses two canisters which they both open.)
Alliance: (fans open to reveal designs of Ladybug, Cat Noir, XY, Jagged Stone, including one with Adrien and Kagami with the city of Paris in the background.) That way every day will feel unique. The Morpho fan designed by Gabriel, is the must-have accessory to fight the heat! Available everywhere! A Bertrand King creation.
"Why did my father have to design those fans anyway?" Adrien asked curiously as well as everyone else. "It doesn't get too hot out."
"Well, it's close to summer time at this point in the future. Plus Paris is in a bit of a heat wave," Angel explained in which everyone else groaned at the thought of how hot it's gonna be in the summer.
Adrien: I'm sorry. I didn't even know about this.
Marinette: (as she holds Adrien's hand) We know it's a 3D avatar of you. It's not your fault, Adrien. (the rumbling gets louder causing everything to shake once more.)
Ivan: The engine won't hold out! There's too much plastic to get rid of!
Anarka: We have to abandon ship, sailors! (Anarka, Juleka, and Ivan run out.)
Scene: Liberty. The plastic containers start to rumble. Cut back to the engine room as it starts to overheat and smoke out. The engine overloads, causing all the plastic to be blown out of the Liberty and onto the ground.
"OH MY GOD!" Everyone in the audience exclaimed upon the sight of the explosion of the huge amount of plastic waste in the Seine on-screen.
"I think I'm gonna be sick!" Mylene said in despair, feeling more faint with Ivan trying to soothe her.
"That is disgusting. Utterly disgusting!" Chloe said in disgust.
"If you think this is disgusting, Chloe, imagine how the animals living in the Seine or even oceans around the world that have been polluted must feel," Marinette pointed out to the blonde girl in which everyone else murmured in agreement.
Nino: (picks up a hand fan) This is why we need you, buddy. (shows him the fan.) These fans are a major eco-disaster. You have to talk to your old man. (Adrien is shocked that Nino would ask him to do such a thing.)
Adrien: You know how my father is. He won't listen to me.
Marinette: (takes the hand fan) What if we try to solve this another way? (Opens up the fan revealing the logo of Bertrand King.) By going straight to the root of the problem?
Scene: Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie. Marinette and her friends are listening to Tom.
Tom: (lists some items as Mylène gasps at the mention of "plastic" in every item.) 10 boxes of plastic macaron trays, 20 boxes of plastic cake decorations, 100 boxes of plastic pastry labels, (Mylène clutches her heart as Ivan catches her.) and last but not least: 10,000 plastic bags. (Mylène faints as Marinette winces.)
"Any more plastic products and I'll probably gonna need an ambulance," Mylene pointed out about her state of mind on-screen with everyone else lightly chuckling in agreement.
Marinette: Okay, Dad, we're on it!
Tom: (notices the state Mylène is in) Are you kids sure that you don't mind?
Marinette: Of course not. Daughters help parents and friends help friends. So friends help friends help friends' parents, right parents-(stammers) I mean friends?
Scene: Bertrand King's plastic warehouse. A man is carrying a box and stacks it on top of other boxes.
Warehouse Worker: And the 10,000 plastic candy bags for the Dupain-Cheng bakery! It's all here! (Mylène faints again with Ivan catching her.)
Marinette: Thank you, sir! (remembers something) Excuse me, sir, would it be possible for us to meet your boss? (Both look toward a statue of Bertrand King.)
Warehouse Worker: Mr. Bertrand King? The King of Plastics? (laughs) No, he never comes here. (points upward) Bosses are up there, at the top of the social ladder.
Marinette: (as she also points upward) And where can we find the top of the social ladder? (the Warehouse Worker presses a button on the statue)
Bertrand King statue: Plastic is fantastic! (Marinette walks to see where the statue is pointing, which appears to be a large tall building.)
Scene: Bertrand King's office, outside. Nino is approaching the building in a disguise. He looks around.
Nino: Let's recap. (Mylène and Ivan are holding boxes with Ivan disguised as a delivery man.) While the delivery team distracts the guards, (camera pans over to Marinette, Alya, Adrien, Max and Kim disguised as a cleaning crew.) the cleaning team will go in through the service entrance.
"And Nino, you will blend in as part of the office building's Sherlock Holmes team," Angel mockingly teased the teen boy about his ridiculous disguise on-screen with everyone else laughing hard in agreement much to Nino's blushing embarrassment.
Max: (gasps) We've been discovered!
Nino: (plays with his mustache, but doesn't notice the guard.) Impossible! With these disguises, we're completely undetectable.
Guard: You! (Nino winces, thinking he got caught.)
Nino: Uh... Me?
Guard (pointing) You!
Nino: (hands up in surrender) It's not me, you must be mistaken! (the guard walks past Nino, making his way towards Adrien.)
Guard: You! (opens up a fan with Adrien on it) It's you on the fans, isn't it?
"Maybe I should be the one wearing the coat and fake mustache," Adrien jokingly pointed out with everyone else laughing hard in agreement.
Adrien: Uh... (Marinette steps in)
Marinette: Yes, it is him! Adrien Agreste in the flesh! (gestures to Adrien as he smiles) Amazing, right? (as Nino breathes a sigh of relief) And as it turns out, we're escorting him, all of us, to his meeting with Mr. Bertrand King.
Adrien: Right, that's it. I'm uh...(looks towards Marinette for help)
Marinette: Here to discuss new advertising campaigns for the Morpho fans.
Adrien: Right.
Marinette: We're his personal team of... (coming up with an excuse) ...delivery and cleaning people. (The guard just stares. He then takes a look at Kim, Max, Adrien who smiles with Marinette, Alya, Ivan and Mylène.)
Guard: Very well. But first! (Marinette, Adrien and Alya look worried, the Guard holds out his fan) Can I get an autograph?
The audience sighed in relief as well as chuckled in amusement that the guard just wanted Adrien's autograph on-screen.
Scene: Bertrand King's office. Bertrand walks to the table and sits down.
Bertrand: I'm listening. (clicks his pen. Kim and Ivan pull a presentation screen up, while Markov acts as a projector.)
Alya: We know how useful the invention of plastic has been. It was made because it's strong but also light and it doesn't cost a lot of money to make. That's why companies like you started to make lots of items we use everyday made of plastic.
Bertrand: (nods) Mhmm.
Alya: (as the presentation shows a medical room) It brought about great medical advances, (screen changes to plastic containers) it keeps our food fresher for longer, (screen changes to plastic bags and bottles) and it makes it easy for us to carry things around. (screen changes to tons of plastic bottles being thrown away as Mylène walks up)
Mylène: The real problem is that too much plastic is being made and most items are only used once before being thrown away. (gestures to above mentioned picture)
Nino: Products such as plastic bags, wrappers.
Marinette: And your Morpho fans. (Bertrand looks around)
Adrien: What we've come to ask you is to help us put an end to plastic pollution.
Mylène: You can start making your fans from materials that do break down.
Max: Yes, better biodegradable! (Bertrand looks at Marinette)
Marinette: The world won't change without us and you, Mr. Plastic (Stutters) Bertrand (Stutters some more) King-I mean, Mr. King of Plastic. (Bertrand just stares while Markov stops projecting) We're done.
Bertrand: That was the clearest presentation I've ever been given. And of course you're right, people buy cheap plastic items, (Max and Mylène look at each other and nod) throw them away and buy those same plastic items over and over again. (The group cheers.) But, (as the group looks at him) that's the point. (the group frowns at what he says) Don't get me wrong. This is all intentional. It's the wonderful cycle of throwing away and buying again that makes my fortune. If people didn't throw away and buy new items again then I, Bertrand King, (poses) would no longer be the King of Plastic! So, there is no way any of this is changing. (Alya gasps) Just look, (gestures to his pen) what do you think your pens are made of? (Alya holds a pen in the palms of her hands) That's right, plastic! What about your Alliance Rings? Could it be that they're also made of...?
Kim: Plastic!
Bertrand: (points to Kim) Winner!
Kim: (cheers) Yeah! I won! Awesome! (stops celebrating) But, what prize did I win?
Everyone in the audience (except for Kim) groaned and bowed their heads in annoyance towards the simple-minded teen athlete.
Bertrand: (tosses Kim a plastic toy dolphin) Plastic! (Kim gasps happily. Bertrand points to Markov) What about your robot? (as Markov glares at him) What's he made of?
Kim: I know! I know! He's made of…
"Kim, I swear if you say Markov is made of plastic, I'm gonna…," Max quietly said to his best friend with gritted teeth in which Kim gulped and kept silent in response.
Markov: (interrupts Kim) I am an intelligent sensitive being and I am made of natural biodegradable resin, not plastic!
Bertrand: (concedes) Alright, fine! Well, nobody's perfect. (shows a wall of plastic products his company has made) But my plastic is perfect, it's here forever, and the more plastic invades the world day after day, the more I, Bertrand King, King of Plastic, become rich! If I could, I'd be plastic myself. (presses a button on his statue, copies the same pose)
Bertrand King statue: Plastic is fantastic!
"Of course money comes first with these people," Alya deadpanned as she groaned in annoyance along with everyone else towards Bertrand King on-screen.
"If he really cared about the money, he should be using it to buy a new suit. It's so pink it looks like he should be the king of candy, not plastic," Angel jokingly pointed out about Bertrand King which made everyone else laugh hard in agreement.
"If he's dressed like that when he's human, I can't imagine what he'd look like as an akumatized supervillain," Marinette jokingly said which made everyone else laugh harder.
Scene: Outside. The group is sitting on the steps feeling down.
Max: The King of Plastic has caused our enthusiasm to drop 99.8%. (a Morpho fan is dropped in front of them. Marinette notices)
Marinette: There's no way we're standing by and doing nothing.
Scene: Hôtel de Ville. Marinette is talking to Mayor Bourgeois.
Mayor Bourgeois: But Parisians love the Morpho fans, my young friend. Removing the vending machines installed by City Hall across Paris…
Marinette: Would make it possible to reduce pollution.
Mayor Bourgeois: But it'd be very damaging to my image. (opens up a fan with his face on it. Marinette angrily frowns at the Mayor)
"Tacky!" Marinette commented about Mayor Bourgeois' image on the hand fan on-screen with everyone else (except for Chloe who stayed in silence in respect to her father) murmuring in agreement.
"Maybe Zoe should've been the one to talk to him instead. Seems like she's the only one who can get in touch with the Mayor's sense of humanity," Angel pointed out about Mayor Bourgeois on-screen.
Scene: Gabriel's atelier. Adrien is seen talking to his father as he's working.
Adrien: Plastic can even be found in your clothes. And in these hand fans you designed. If you could help us convince Bertrand King.
Gabriel: You know, Adrien. Great designers have to make certain compromises, these fans are only a trend, a way to keep the Gabriel brand thriving. They will disappear as soon as the heat wave is over.
Adrien: (gasps angrily) The damages they cause to the environment will remain for several centuries!
Gabriel: It's been very nice to talk to you, Adrien. Now if you excuse me, I have work to do.
(similar to Marinette with Mayor Bourgeois, Adrien frowns angrily at his father and leaves)
Scene: City. Adrien is talking to Marinette on video with the others in the background.
Adrien: (on phone) My father hasn't listened to me at all. (Marinette is walking with her phone in hand. Stops and looks at a poster of Nadja Chamack)
Marinette: Hold on, we might have one more chance.
Scene: TVi studio. Nadja's Wardrobe.
Nadja: I just can't report Bertrand King's practices in my news broadcast.
Marinette: (as Manon is drawing beside her) But, why not?
Nadja: Because the King of Plastic is also the king of our TV channel. It's the money from his advertisements that allows us to exist.
Marinette: But if you don't talk about it, people will never know why the products he sells cause pollution. Please, Nadja. Do it for Manon! For the world she'll grow up in! (Nadja hesitates)
Nadja: If I did, the world she'll grow up in will be a world where her mom no longer had a job. I'm sorry, Marinette. (Manon looks up at Marinette)
Manon: Are you and Mommy mad at each other?
Marinette: (smiles at Manon) Not at all, Manon. (As the news starts, Marinette gets an idea.)
Nadja: Don't be bemused, it's just the news.
Scene: Liberty. A commercial for Morpho fans is playing on the TV.
Nadja: The Morpho fan, designed by Gabriel, is a must-have accessory to fight the heat. (As she is talking, Max and Markov are on the computer, typing out code. Camera turns to Marinette and her friends, Nino is holding a camera while Alya, Adrien, Myèlene, Kim, Juleka, Zoé, and Rose are holding signs. Marinette is holding her phone.)
Marinette: It's about to start! (As Max is finished with the code, he turns to Marinette.)
Max: 12 more seconds.
Marinette: (Holds her phone, talking to some people) Ready, everyone? (The people she was talking to are her friends from her trip to New York, Jessica Keynes and Aeon and her friend from when she went to Shanghai, Fei Wu. The three of them nod in affirmation. The news starts to play on the TV.)
"Who are those girls on my phone?" Marinette asked curiously as well as everyone else as soon as they saw her future superhero friends on-screen.
"Remember when you and Cat Noir were forced to see your dream visions by Darker Owl and during your dream wedding, there are some superheroes that you don't recognize?" Angel asked, starting her explanation about the girls on-screen and everyone else nodded in affirmation. "Well, these girls are some of the superheroes that you two have met from trips from around the world. The girl on the right is Fei Wu a.k.a. Ladydragon, a superhero in Shanghai. The two girls on the left are Jessica Keynes and Aeon a.k.a. Eagle and Uncanny Valley, two members of a superhero team in New York. I can explain more, but you'll get to see these superheroes in action in the finale soon," Angel explained further in which everyone else murmured in excitement of seeing new superheroes on-screen.
Nadja: Don't be bemused, it's just the news. (As Max types on the computer.) Our first story today is a report by Clara Contard on the incredible (Ivan, Mylène, Rose and Juleka are holding their signs with frowns on their faces, Max continues to type.) heat wave that has settled in Paris for a week now! (Max finishes typing, presses a button on the keyboard, interrupting the broadcast. Nino holds the camera, makes a gesture to Marinette that they're rolling.)
Scene: City. The TV's continue to static until they stop, revealing Marinette and her friends live from the Liberty.
Marinette: Sorry to interrupt your TV news. I'm Marinette and for the past few days, my friends and I have tried to raise awareness of a serious problem to people who have the power to act.
Scene: Dupain-Cheng living room. Tom and Sabine are seen watching the broadcast.
Marinette: But none of them have taken us seriously.
Tom and Sabine: Marinette?!
Scene: Bertrand King's office. Bertrand is watching the broadcast.
Mylène: There is indeed a critical issue affecting our entire planet right now. We're talking about plastic pollution. (Bertrand just scowls at the screen)
Adrien: And if nothing is done, (screen changes to plastic in the ocean as more people watch the broadcast.) there will soon be more plastic than fish in our oceans.
Scene: Le Grand Paris. Chloé is watching the broadcast. The screen moves from the ocean to Shanghai.
Zoe: (off-screen) Therefore, it is urgent for us to change our habits!
Scene: Hôtel de Ville. Mayor Bourgeois is watching the broadcast.
Fei: All across the world, we must now act responsibly. (picks up a Morpho fan) We can all make good choices about the items we use every day. (places the fan in the trash can as the scene transitions to New York City.)
Jessica: (throws away fans with Aeon) These fans, distributed in every city, across the world are manufactured with cheap plastics not meant to last.
Scene: Gabriel's atelier. Gabriel is watching the broadcast.
Aeon: Instead of being short-lived, they can be sustainable and biodegradable.
Alya: (gestures to Adrien, who is holding a sustainable bamboo fan.) These fans could be made out of bamboo, like this one.
Adrien: (while looking at Marinette, who blushes) It's so beautiful, that you'd want to keep it forever. (Marinette pulls out a bamboo fan of her own. She then raises it in the air.)
Marinette: Let's demand change from the people who have the power to implement environmentally sustainable solutions. (Closes the fan) For the world of tomorrow is built by the choices we all make today.
The audience cheered and applauded at the teens' environmental awareness broadcast on-screen.
Scene: TVi studio. Nadja makes a report on Marinette's message.
Nadja: This initiative by young people from all around the world, which you discovered as an exclusive live in yesterday's broadcast, has elicited many reactions. (Screen changes to show André being interviewed.)
Scene: City. Mayor Bourgeois is being interviewed while the vending machines carrying the Morpho fans are being taken away.
Mayor Bourgeois: Naturally, I was not aware of this. But as soon as I was informed, I had every Morpho fan machine removed from Paris. My city is at the forefront of the fight for pollution. (corrects himself) I mean against pollution.
The audience (including Chloe surprisingly) scoffed in amusement towards Mayor Bourgeois on-screen.
Scene: Agreste mansion. Gabriel is being interviewed.
Gabriel: I can assure you, that I had no idea that my talent would be misappropriated by a polluting company.
Scene: Marinette's balcony. Marinette and Adrien are watching the news report on Marinette's tablet.
Nadja: In the coming days, we will be tracking the progress of this anti-plastic revolution. (Marinette swipes the tablet to reveal a video call from her friends, who cheer in victory. Adrien runs up to her.)
Adrien: Your idea was brilliant, Marinette! As always! (Both hug each other)
Scene: Bertrand King's office. Bertrand is talking to Gabriel via Alliance.
Bertrand: I mean Gabriel, why would you lie like this on TV? You do realize I'll be ruined? (grips his pen)
Gabriel: (on Alliance) Come on now, you'll simply be less rich. You'll just get used to it.
Bertrand: (angry) I'll tell everyone you knew that these fans were polluting!
Gabriel: (on Alliance) Go ahead. No one will believe you.
Bertrand: I- (Gabriel ends the call, causing him to slam his hands on the table in anger.)
Scene: Monarch's lair. The lair window opens.
Gabriel: I can't miss out on such a great opportunity. These feelings of betrayal are such powerful inspiration for my megakuma! Nooroo, dark wings rise! (Gabriel transforms into Monarch)
Monarch: (Turns butterfly into megakuma, then releases it.) Kaalki, (Kaalki's pod flies towards Monarch) your power is now mine! (absorbs the power of Migration.) Voyage, my megakuma!
Scene: Bertrand King's office. The megakuma comes out of a portal and enters Bertrand King's pen.
Monarch: (from his lair) King of Plastic, I am Monarch. How would you like the power to take revenge on those who turned their backs on you?
Bertrand: And prove to the world that plastic is fantastic! (slams fist on table)
Monarch: (from his lair) Absolutely! (Bertrand succumbs to the akumatization and transforms into King of Plastic.) Pollen, (Pollen's pod flies towards Monarch) your power is now mine! (absorbs the power of Action) Transfer! (transmits the power of Action through the King of Plastic's Alliance ring.) To help you in battle, I am also giving you the power of Action, (The King of Plastic's lance glows up with Venom) with which you can paralyze anyone who tries to escape from you! (The King of Plastic runs off to enact his vengeance.)
Pollen whimpers in fear of her superpower once again being used for evil on-screen with Chloe trying to comfort her.
Scene: Hôtel de Ville. The King of Plastic kicks the door open. Mayor Bourgeois cowers in fear. The King of Plastic points his lance at him.
King of Plastic: Well then, André. You no longer believe in the goodness of plastic and money, do ya?
Mayor Bourgeois: (looks up and is in shock) Bertrand?
King of Plastic: From now on, you may call me: King of Plastic! (about to swing his lance) And let me remind you how plastic is fantastic! (swings at Mayor Bourgeois, but misses. Mayor Bourgeois escapes.)
Mayor Bourgeois: (as he runs down the stairs) Help! Security! (King of Plastic blocks his exit. Mayor Bourgeois goes on his knees and begs) Please! If you want, I can immediately re-install your plastic fan machine.
King of Plastic: That won't be necessary. This city doesn't need a useless mayor, what it needs is a King of Plastic! (spins Lance around and uses Venom to paralyze Mayor Bourgeois and uses the other side of the lance to turn him into a plastic statue.) Plastic is fantastic! (leaves a plastic Mayor Bourgeois).
"WHAT'S HE DONE TO DADDY?!" Chloe shrieked upon the sight of her father being turned into a plastic statue on-screen.
"Basically, the villain immobilized him with the Bee's Venom power and turned him into a plastic statue," Angel simply explained to her audience who gulped in fear of being turned into plastic (especially Mylene).
Scene: Outside. The King of Plastic kicks down the door outside, where he is met by Lieutenant Roger and his army of officers.
Roger: In the name of the law, stop! (The King of Plastic rushes towards them) Fre-(gets paralyzed by The King of Plastic)
King of Plastic: (laughs) You freeze! (The other officers rush towards The King of Plastic, only to get paralyzed with ease.) Fantastic! (turns them all into plastic statues) You were the Mayor's playthings and now y'all really look the part! Plastic playthings of course! (turns Roger into a plastic statue. He laughs) Plastic really is fantastic! (jumps on top of a building, then points his lance at the Agreste mansion) And now it's your turn, Gabriel Agreste!
Scene: Monarch's lair.
Monarch: I'm afraid Gabriel Agreste is unavailable at the moment.
Scene: Marinette's balcony. Adrien is teaching Marinette Mandarin.
Adrien: 你好女士. (translates. Hello, miss.)
Marinette: 你好怒視. (translates. Hello, angry.) That's still not it, is it?
Adrien: That was almost it. Your "hello" was perfect. But remember, the last syllable of "miss" has a falling tone. 女士. (translates. Miss.)
Marinette: 女士. (translates, Miss.) (rumbles) Was that so bad I triggered lightning?! (notices The King of Plastic jumping from building to building.)
"Maybe we both should teach her together, Adrien. She could get distracted by your gorgeous eyes," Sabine jokingly suggested as everyone else (especially Adrien) laughed hard in agreement much to Marinette's blushing embarrassment.
Adrien: I promised my father that I'd go home at any sign of trouble. Will you be okay?
Marinette: Yeah, don't worry. I've got to review my Mandarin. (giggles)
Adrien: Ok, see you later then. (goes downstairs)
Scene: City. Adrien goes under a building to transform.
Adrien: There's no time to waste! The sooner Cat Noir saves Paris, the sooner Adrien can get back to Marinette! (lets Plagg out of his jacket.)
Plagg: And the sooner I can eat Camembert!
Adrien: Plagg, claws out! (transforms into Cat Noir)
Scene: Marinette's balcony. Marinette is crouching down.
Marinette: Monarch is polluting us with yet another one of his supervillains! (lets Tikki out of her purse.) Tikki, spots on! Yeah! (transforms into Ladybug)
Scene: Exterior, Le Grand Paris. Ladybug is keeping vigilant when Cat Noir comes in on his staff.
Cat Noir: Me-ow, m'lady!
Ladybug: Perfect timing, kitty cat. (points downward) Check this out. (camera pans to King of Plastic walking towards the Agreste mansion) There's a new villain in town.
Cat Noir: And he's headed towards (camera pans to Adrien's bodyguard washing the car's windows.) the house of the famous designer, Gabriel Agreste!
Ladybug: And his son, Adrien. (Cat Noir pole vaults off the roof, but almost falls at the mention of his civilian persona. He turns back to Ladybug.)
Cat Noir: (as he grips his staff) You were saying?
"Afraid for your secret boyfriend, m'lady?" Adrien teasingly asked Marinette while wiggling his eyebrows playfully while his girlfriend playfully shoved him in response much to everyone else's amusement.
Ladybug: (throws her yo-yo) That there's not a moment to lose! (swings towards the mansion. Adrien's bodyguard continues to wash the car's windows when the front gate was kicked away by The King of Plastic. He tries to fight back.)
King of Plastic: Nothing will stop the reign of plastic! (paralyzes Adrien's bodyguard and turns him into a plastic statue. He continues to make his way to the front door. Ladybug and Cat Noir rush in to intercept him. Ladybug gasps)
Cat Noir: No! (they notice the plastic statue of Adrien's bodyguard. The King of Plastic makes his way up the steps of the mansion. Cat Noir spins his staff, rushes in to attack) Didn't you see the news? Plastic's going out of fashion! (clashes with The King of Plastic)
King of Plastic: (fights back) This is all Gabriel Agreste's fault! He's gonna pay for that! (knocks Cat Noir on top of the car. Ladybug goes in to attack. The King of Plastic tries to paralyze her, but she dodges. She then throws her yo-yo at him, which latches on his lance. Ladybug is shocked. The King of Plastic grins and raises his lance high, causing Ladybug to be thrown up in the air and slam down on the car.)
Cat Noir: (helps Ladybug up as she rubs her head) Ladybug, is everything okay?
Scene: Monarch's lair.
Monarch: Once Ladybug and Cat Noir have been turned into plastic statues, their Miraculous will finally be mine.
Scene: Exterior, Agreste mansion. The King of Plastic jumps down to attack Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Monarch: (off-screen) Delivered to my door! (The King of Plastic raises his lance at Ladybug, Cat Noir defends her by blocking it with his staff, causing it to turn plastic.)
Cat Noir: Hey! He plasticized my staff! (King of Plastic is about to attack again. Ladybug notices and pushes Cat Noir out of the way before the car turns plastic)
Ladybug: (swings her yo-yo, goes to attack) You're the tycoon who makes all these polluting fans! The King of Plastic, aren't you?! (tries to punch him, but he dodges each punch.)
Cat Noir: The King of Pollution, you mean!
King of Plastic: Misinformation! (poses) Plastic is fantas- (gets interrupted by Ladybug throwing her yo-yo at his chest)
"OH, SHUT UP!" Everyone in the audience exclaimed to The King of Plastic on-screen as he's about to say his catchphrase again.
Ladybug: (pulls yo-yo back, goes to attack) Fantastic would be you ending your reign (goes under him) and all the pollution you're causing! (swings her yo-yo at his feet, tying them together, making him trip)
King of Plastic: (gets back up) And renounce my throne? Never! (jumps up to the gate and escapes)
Cat Noir: Didn't he want to take revenge on Gabriel Agreste?
Ladybug: He probably has more than one enemy. (goes after him with Cat Noir following. The King of Plastic is running when Monarch calls him.)
"Who's he after now if not my father?" Adrien asked curiously as well as everyone else about The King of Plastic's next targets.
"The people who started this anti-plastic revolution in the first place: you guys," Angel ominously explained as the teens gulped in fear of being turned into plastic statues.
Scene: Monarch's lair.
Monarch: Don't forget about our deal!
Scene: City. The King of Plastic is still running.
King of Plastic: Yeah, yeah. Even though they're not plastic, I'll take care of their magic jewels.
Scene: The Seine. The King of Plastic makes his way towards the Liberty.
King of Plastic: But also I must take my revenge!
Scene: Liberty. Marinette's friends are partying.
King of Plastic: You can't humiliate a king like me and go unpunished! (jumps down on them. Nino looks up, shocked. The King of Plastic goes toward a table) A party without plastic cups or plastic balloons...(knocks away the non-plastic items) and without the King of Plastic... is not a real party! (Ivan and Mylène try to rush him, only to get paralyzed and turn into plastic statues, the others run to safety) Don't leave! Thanks to me, you'll be eternal and everlasting! You'll see...(poses) Plastic is fantastic! (throws lance at Nino, who covers himself before the lance is knocked back to him, thanks to Ladybug with her yo-yo.)
Ladybug: (using yo-yo as a shield) Go and hide in the hold! (Nino runs off as Cat Noir jumps in. He fights with The King of Plastic, dodging and blocking his attacks.) Lucky Charm! (activates her power and receives a plastic bag.) A plastic bag?
"A plastic bag? Are you kidding me?!" Marinette asked in exasperation towards the Lucky Charm given to her on-screen with everyone else groaning in annoyed agreement.
"I know it's annoying at a time like this, but it gives a clue on the supervillain's weakness," Angel explained, bringing the audience's full attention to the screen in curiosity.
Cat Noir: (while holding off King of Plastic) Your superpower has quite a sense of humor.
King of Plastic: (goes to attack) This just goes to prove plastic is almighty! (Ladybug uses the plastic bag to shield herself. The King of Plastic's lance just bounces off of it. Ladybug is surprised that the bag wasn't affected.)
"As you all can see, his lance didn't have any effect on the Lucky Charm plastic bag at all," Angel started explaining about The King of Plastic's weakness on-screen with a look of hope that her audience (especially the two heroes) are catching on.
"Because it's already plastic! All the things that are already plastic can't be affected, right?" Marinette said, catching on along with the rest of the audience and Angel nodded in confirmation.
Cat Noir: (kicks King of Plastic) At least it can't be turned into plastic!
Ladybug: Because it's already plastic! Good thinking, Cat Noir!
Cat Noir: (blocks The King of Plastic's lance with his staff) You're welcome, m'lady! (Ladybug looks around using her lucky vision. Her eyes lay upon The King of Plastic, the plastic in the containers, and Alya.)
Ladybug: (realizes) We need more plastic! Lots and lots of plastic!
King of Plastic: (throws Cat Noir) Finally, some wise words!
Cat Noir: (lands) Are you serious, m'lady?!
Ladybug: I couldn't be any more serious, kitty! (to Alya) I need as much plastic as can be found in the water. (Alya is shocked, but smiles and runs off)
Scene: Below the deck of Liberty. Alya runs downstairs to where the others are hiding.
Alya: (as the others pop out of their hiding place) We've got to get the houseboat's treatment system running again.
Zoé: But it'll cause the same problem as it did last time!
Anarka: (runs in) The engine won't hold out, Alya!
Alya: (clenches her fist) Only this time, Ladybug will fix everything! (Zoé and Anarka nod)
"So, what exactly is the plan here?" Alya asked as well as the rest of the audience, still not understanding Ladybug's plan on-screen.
"You're gonna cause another plastic waste explosion, but this time it'll work in your favor," Angel vaguely explained which brought the audience's full attention back to the screen.
Scene: The Seine. The Liberty's engine starts to rumble. The King of Plastic tries to swing his lance at Ladybug and Cat Noir, who dodge it by jumping up to the roof. The King of Plastic jumps up and tries to strike them but they dodge by separating. Ladybug glares, while Cat Noir fights The King of Plastic with his staff. Camera pans down to Alya, who gives a double thumbs up.
Ladybug: (kicks The King of Plastic) Cat Noir, they're going to need you in the hold! (Cat Noir begins to run below the deck)
Scene: Below the deck of Liberty. Cat Noir runs downstairs.
Cat Noir: (to the others while running) Get to safety, everyone! (runs to the engine room while everyone ducks in cover)
Scene: Engine room. Cat Noir runs in.
Cat Noir: Cataclysm! (touches the engine as it starts to break down and overload)
Scene: The Liberty. Smoke starts to come out from the Liberty as Ladybug is fighting The King of Plastic. Ladybug stops fighting and swings away, while King of Plastic remains where he is. Like last time, the plastic is blown out of the containers, except this time all of it lands on The King of Plastic. The entire houseboat is filled with plastic, with the only thing left of King of Plastic was his lance. Cat Noir joins Ladybug as she uses her yo-yo to break the lance in half, causing the megakuma to fly out.
In spite of the environmental disaster, everyone in the audience laughed hard at the supervillain being covered by all the plastic waste on-screen.
Ladybug: No more evil-doing for you, megakuma! (opens her yo-yo) Time to de-evilize! (captures the megakuma) Gotcha! (frees the purified butterfly) Bye-bye, little butterfly! (The King of Plastic is de-akumatized back into Bertrand King, who awakens in a pile of plastic)
Bertrand: What am I doing here? This is disgusting! (Ladybug and Cat Noir look at each other) Aren't you gonna help me?
Ladybug: (as the others walk up) This is exactly what millions of sea animals are going through around the world!
Cat Noir: And they don't always have superheroes to offer a helping hand and save them.
Bertrand: Ok, maybe plastic isn't always so fantastic. (Ladybug and Cat Noir help him up out of the pile)
Cat Noir: In the future, make the products you manufacture are reusable or recyclable and made from things that decompose! (Ladybug and Cat Noir place their hands on their hips)
Bertrand: (picks off a Morpho fan) Alright, I think I haven't realized until now what plastic pollution really is. (Ladybug gives a magical charm to Bertrand)
Ladybug: Mr. Bertrand, here's a magical charm to help you remember your good resolution.
Group: Pound it! (the group celebrates)
"POUND IT!" The teens in the audience fist-bumped together before the two heroes kissed each other at another victory.
Ladybug: Miraculous Ladybug! (She throws the plastic bag in the air, restoring all the damages caused by The King of Plastic, as well as turning the people who were plastic statues back to normal and cleaning up the plastic pile on the Liberty.)
"Well, that saves us the clean-up!" Alya jokingly pointed out the Miraculous cure cleaning all the plastic waste on the houseboat with everyone else laughing hard in agreement.
Scene: Library. The class is watching a news report by Clara Contard from the Seine.
Clara: Factory tycoon, Bertrand King, known for being the King of Plastic, (Bertrand is shown dumping plastic in a container) has financed the repair of the houseboat which has cleaned the Seine of all the plastic waste that was polluting it.
Bertrand: I am turning over with disposable plastic. I don't want to be responsible for the problem anymore. (the screen expands to show Marinette and her friends with bags of plastic that was cleaned up) I want to be part of the solution. (the screen changes to the bakery, where Marinette is passing out bread in a non-plastic wrapper she designed as Tom is speaking.)
Tom: Now that our daughter has made us aware of the issue, we use wooden stirs, wheat straw cups, and cloth bags.
Sabine: Everything is eco-friendly, reusable, and recyclable. (cuts to outside of the bakery)
Clara: The school kids at the root of this tremendous awareness raising campaign have succeeded in creating a world-wide movement! This is absolutely miraculous! (Marinette and Alya smile at each other as the scene dissolves to show Marinette, Jessica, Aeon, and Fei holding metal water bottles made by Marinette herself with pictures showing them in Paris, New York, and Shanghai respectively.)
"This has been my favorite so far!" Mylene excitedly said about the episode much to the audience's cheerful amusement.
"Told you so. The next episode is called Collusion," Angel announced the next episode before turning to Miss Bustier. "Miss Bustier, you're akumatized into a new villain called Miss Sans-Culotte."
"Why?" Miss Bustier asked in despair at the thought of being akumatized again along with everyone else (especially her students).
"A couple of things instead of one thing. First, trouble caused by Chloe there under the direction of Lil- I guess we call her Cerise now," Angel explained while giving a small glare towards the shrinking Chloe along with everyone else as they also groaned about the Lila/Cerise situation. "Plus a manipulative move by Mr. Agreste to turn the citizens of Paris including you ma'am against Mayor Bourgeois."
"But I'm also pregnant. Would getting akumatized harm my baby?" Miss Bustier asked in fear while caressing her stomach as she and everyone else turned to the two heroes and their kwamis for the answer.
"I don't know, miss. We've never fought a pregnant akuma victim before," Marinette said with a sad frown as she shrugged along with Adrien.
"Don't worry, Miss Bustier. I looked ahead and your baby is still safe even when you're akumatized," Angel reassured the young teacher as she sighed in relief as well as the rest of the audience. "Let's get started!"
