"Does she have any family?" A young female Dr. asked an older looking Officer.

"Her records showed that both her adoptive parents were brutally killed in the attack and were lucky that we found her alive when we did. The neighbors told us that she had come home a month early from her boarding school due to a student death." He paused when the Dr. gasped and both turned towards the unconscious patient. " Unfortunately both parents were single children and there are no living family members. The Adoption papers listed the church she was given too and her adoptive parents requested that in the event that they were unable to raise her that she be placed back in the biological family's custody. The biological mother and grandmother are deceased and the father cannot be found. We have reached out to the eldest sister and are supposed to meet with her later tonight after her flight lands."

"Her flight?" the Dr. enquired.

"Her family originates from America. She was able to arrange transportation and intends to gain custody of her. She already acquired custody of her twin last week"

"She has a twin sister? How did they get split up like that?"

"I'm not sure, usually twins are adopted together so this was uncommon."

"What happened to her twin?"

"Car crash, both parents perished, it was a miracle she survived, somehow she flew out the window and avoided serious injury." The officer brushed away the teen girl's hair from her face, he couldn't help but think of his own young daughter. "To top off this poor family's run of tragedy the eldest sister passed away a month ago, the one who's coming to pick her up is, was, the second oldest." He stepped away from the girls and walked out of the medical room, the Dr. trailing behind him. "What of her injuries?"

"As you know, when she came in it was touch and go. She lost so much blood from her injuries we weren't sure she was going to make it. She had severe internal bleeding, her lung had been punctured by her rib but we were able to save the lung and stop the bleeding. Her leg is broken but will heal with minimal issue if she does physical therapy. The blunt force trauma on her torso and thighs are without infection and will heal with time. The large laceration along her collarbone and neck worried us but somehow it avoided both her exterior jugular and internal jugular vein, it appears as though there is no damage to her esophagus either. The deep lacerations on her arm are stitched but they will leave a nasty scar, which based on what was intended as a slur of some sort, was the point. Not intended to kill but intended to leave a permanent mark. I don't know what Mudblood means but nothing carved into skin like that is meant to be complimentary." The officer nodded and leaned against the wall looking into the room the victim was in.

"It means dirty blood, about 15 years ago there was this terrorist organization that was hunting a group of people and at the sight of some scenes they would leave that word carved into their victims body or written in blood on the wall. The leader of the organization was killed and most of its members were caught and arrested. It looks like some may have fallen through the cracks though and this poor girl was one of their victims. I was a rookie then and my partner and I found the remains of a family attacked by them. It was brutal, what those murderers did to them is forever ingrained in my head." Shaking his head of the dark memories he pushed off the wall and shook the Dr.'s hand. "I have to go, let me know when she wakes up."

"She'll be waking up soon, probably later tonight, after we change her medication." He nodded and walked out of the hospital ward. Days like this had him questioning his job. All he wanted to do was go home and hold his daughter tight. He would do that later though, after ensuring that Hermione Granger had a home to go to, Hopefully everything worked out with her older sister, right now Piper Halliwell was his last chance at making sure she didn't end up in the system, it was going to be a long night.
